I don't normally spend a lot of time wandering around antique malls, but the Olde Florida Cafe (despite the cute spelling of "Olde") makes it a fun experience. My first meal there was a giant bowl of potato soup for $5.95, and it was delicious. I like the setup of ordering at the counter and getting a number for your table. Service seems friendly and attentive. Because of the vastness of the Avonlea Antique Mall, the cafe has the feel of a museum coffee shop, but the menu is interesting and varied enough to keep you coming back. After eating here, I think every big antique store should have a cafe. It just makes the browsing more fun.

This shows 4 stars, very, very disappointing , maybe 1-2 stars , would not go back, very strange, inside an antique mall full of junk

I stopped by Olde Florida Cafe for a quick lunch with my family. I never ever would have known that this spot existed. It is right in the middle of the Avonlea Antique Mall, which is fun to walk around in itself. When you enter the dining area, you line up and order your food and then pick your own table. I ordered the garden salad and the tomato bisque soup. The soup was great, but the salad didn't have anything to it, really. Others at the table got sandwiches, which looked really tasty. I like Olde Florida Cafe, but didn't love it. The food was good but I just wasn't wowwed by it. Definitely a cute, quiet spot for lunch though.

This quaint eatery is a hidden gem in south Jacksonville. Not easy to find, it is located inside the Avonlea Antique Mall, it is still well worth the search effort. The food is fresh and the options are straightforward. One can't go wrong when choosing from the daily specials clearly posted at the entrance. Don't be alarmed by the unconventional ordering process, everything works very smoothly. After lunch, I always stroll through the mall to work off a few calories. The seemingly endless display of antiques always brings back pleasant memories from my younger days!

Off the beaten path of the reasturant scene, a quaint little cafe tucked in an Antique mall. Great menu and great owners and staff. This is a must eat at if your in the Phillips/Baymeadows area!

Great apple caramel cake, neat atmosphere, I am not a huge antique fan but the Avonlea Antique Mall makes the restaurant even that much more unique being located in the heart of the booths. Jax is a lot of transplants but this place has a home like feel.

Another literal hole in the wall lunch spot!!! Olde Florida Café is located in the Baymeadows/Southside area where the old Scan Design location used to reside. You will find this Café is smack dab in the middle of the Avonlea Antique Mall. (Another found gem here on Baymeadows and Phillips Hwy) You enter the Antique Mall and follow the signs, and the delightful smell, to this wonderfully hidden Café. This is a beautifully decorated, Mom and Pops shop that has a lunch bar and approx 15 or so tables. I got to this location at 11:15 on a Friday and by 11:45 there was a long line waiting to order!!! I was soooo surprised to see that others knew of this hidden little spot as well!! You order your lunch, by the very impressive case of homemade desserts, and then seat yourself. Linen table clothes, table décor, even a little fireplace give this spot a true café feel! I ordered the spinach quiche ($8.95), which came with a blueberry muffin (homemade) and a delightful cold broccoli salad (red onions, crisp broccoli, bacon lightly dressed). The quiche was a very large portion! LOVE that!! Really friendly service here, great atmosphere and some surprisingly good food. Will definitely be back to sample some of the gorgeous looking sweets!!

Had plans to meet an old friend for lunch & she chose the Olde Florida Cafe since it was right around the corner from her office. I chose the pck two combo and settled on a 1/2 BLT with a cup of the potato soup. The lady in front of me had ordered a raspberry tea & that sounded refreshing, so i had that as well. While I was eyeballing the cakes & pies while waiting in line, I decided to pass this time. My blood sugar levels thanked me. The BLT was good: crispy bacon, ripe tomato & bread toasted just right. The potato soup was excellent, some of the best I've had, Creamy with big chunks of potato & enough bacon sprinkled on top that when you stirred it in, there was plenty of bacon for every bite. It's obviously a favorite eating place of the surrounding area, because it was quite busy. While we waited a bit to place our order, there was still a table available when it was time for us to find one. Looking forward to taking my husband back & sharing a piece of the Reese's PB cake...

Best way to spend an afternoon with friends. Lunch and then browsing of the huge antique mall. The desserts are divine.

I had the chicken salad croissant with pasta salad and it was decent but for the price and service I think I'll pass next time. We wanted a slice of cake to go but they refused because they "closed the register" already. Really? For the principle of that, I'd rather not go back.

I am currently standing in line here (again) to get a piece of their pie to go after browsing the antique mall after eating lunch here. I just couldn't leave w/o trying one of their amazing looking desserts- I heard the lady behind the counter talking about how she makes them fresh from scratch! They also just let me cut in a line about 6 deep to order my pie to go! Sweet. Anyway, the quiche I ordered was a huge piece and packed with ham, bacon, and broccoli- no skimping here. The potato salad and blueberry muffin that came with it (all for only $9.95!) were reallyyy good- though I could barely eat it all due there being so much food on my plate. My sister got the black bean soup, which also came in a huge bowl (she said she would rate it a 4.5/5). The service was really friendly and helpful, one of the main reasons I'm giving this place 5 stars. I also appreciated that they didn't give us dirty looks for coming into a somewhat business casual setting wearing Tshirts, running shorts and a little sweaty due to working outside. PS the coconut cream pie is amazing... though if whipped cream is your thing, don't go for this. though i don't know why you don't like whipped cream...
