Millhouse Steak House Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

So... My friend has been raving about this place, so much that I was almost sure that everything would be finger lickin' perfect! We ordered a variety (as always) and the food looked and smelled amazing, there just wasn't much flavor to any of it EXCEPT for the traditional BBQ ribs which were fall off the bone tender and buffalo chicken rolls! They were the best thing we've tasted in awhile and the white sauce that comes with it is yuuuuum!! The 18oz Ny strip steak was fairly small and lacked depth, and if you've read my other reviews you'll know that my bf loves steak, he orders it everywhere we go! The pasta primavera, mashed potatoes, shrimp scampi, rice, buffalo wings and sauteed mushrooms all lacked flavor. It was a bit saddening. There might be other things that are great on their menu but honestly we probably won't be back to try them. But, if you're a lover of ribs then this is the place to get them!!!! Happy Yelping....

Good food. Good service. I had the fish and chips; not too bad. Everyone at my table loved their food. It has a laid back and noisy atmosphere. The menu is huge. If I lived here, I'd come back.

Mill house is one of those longtime Jacksonville staples locals love. A true steakhouse with so much more. Their complex menu also includes Chef's Specialties, soups, salads, & an entire page each of pasta, Asian dishes, seafood, chicken, chops, & daily specials. They are always running drink specials, well brands & house wines for $2.50. They have a large dessert selection, full well appointed bar, & plenty of seating. I recommend the steaks, either of the soups, or their fish/seafood dishes. The pork ossobucco is a hit & all is served with fresh baked bread with several dipping oils & spreads.

I had a great time here. A few of my Yelp friends recommended this place and I truly enjoyed my experience. Who has drinks for $2.47? Mill House that's who. The drinks were awesome and the late night menu is perfect. Do yourself a favor and check out Mill House.

drinks for $2.47 all day, everyday? Heck yea I'm a fan! We went pretty late so the only thing to eat was the bar menu. But I'll be back to try out the entire menu as I sip on my $2.47 drink.(Did I mention $2.47?)

Here on business travel alone so sat at the bar. Jen and Tracy awesome hostesses. Dirty martini to start, seared tuna app with wasabi and seaweed salad. Nice ribeye steak cooked to perfection with a glass of cab. The bar was a bit loud but not overwhelming. Now....what for dessert? Pannaa Cotta! Great menu with some impressive choices from seafood, pasta, sandwiches, and of course steaks.

This looked like a much better choice than the airport options of Sam Sneads and Shula's. The strongest part of Mill House Steakhouse was the service. We told our server we had to be back at the airport in 75 minutes and he made sure our orders moved through quickly. Our table tried the Prime Rib and the Surf and Turf (a Filet and Shrimp Scampi). Both dishes were just ok- like 6 out of 10. We had sautéed vegetables and salads and again they were adequate but nothing spectacular. This place has more of a Ruby Tuesday's or Applebee's feel. The space was a little odd- felt like a restaurant that had just reopened with not much wall decor and concrete floors and warehouse high ceilings that made the noise factor pretty high. For airport options not bad but if we had more time we would have probably driven into Jacksonville for some better options.

Love this place I visit Jacksonville and always stop in. Service is great as well ..Food I enjoy all the types of food here.

4 stars overall, which is a good rating for a place that feels like a chain. The food is way better than your average chain though. The bread is delish and the drink specials are good.

This place was great! We sat at the bar and our waitress was very cheerful, knowledgable about the menu, and the price for food and drinks were awesome! Definitely returning here on my next trip.

This place is a step below an Outback, but their prices are just a tad bit higher, I believe. I got the bone-in Ribeye. They tout their beef as being "prime". I'm no professional food critic, so here's my disclaimer...my views could be completely wrong...but this sure didn't seem like prime beef. As others have pointed out, there was lots of connective tissue in my ribeye. Granted, it did have the marbling of a ribeye, but still...not so good cut of meat in my opinion. Caesar Salad was a bit on the buffet restaurant side, as well. Sure, it had Caesar dressing on it, but I'm guessing the parmesan cheese was from a can. Check the pic. No croutons, just lettuce and dressing and can-shaken cheese. Service was good...although my server had a tongue piercing, and I had to have him repeat everything he said because it sounded garbled through his piercing. Man...times have changed. LOL

Pleasantly surprised! We were not sure when we walked in but once the sirloin appetizer with Gorgonzola cheese and steamed spinach hit the table we were in love! Great service! Great food! Great Value!

Food and service was absolutely wonderful. Jodi was our server and she was fantastic. Pork Chops and Tilapia were our choice tonight along with the mashed potatoes, all were cooked to perfection with great taste. What a wonderful night.

The only thing wrong with Millhouse is that it is not closer to me. Designed with an open, airy, and rustic atmosphere, the room could get a bit loud. Other than that it was a great experience all around. Start with the $2.47 drink menu and go from there. The options for those priced drinks was great and it's all day, every day. The warm bread with herb olive oil was a great way to start the meal. The menu has a great variety of chicken, pasta, seafood, and of course steak. We split the calamari and queso appetizers and went into a wide variety of dishes in our party of 7. We literally had something from each offering, fish, pork, beef, and chicken. Not one person was disappointed in their meal. Everything was cooked perfectly and was unbelievably tasty. Our waitress was phenomenal as well, and it was nice to see all the wait staff helping out. Next time I'm driving through Jacksonville I'll definitely be stopping here!!

A convenient dining choice by the Jacksonville airport, Millhouse will never be confused with a Ruth's Chris or a Flemings. It is however, a good choice for decent steaks, prime rib and (surprisingly) fish on the Northside. The food is a step above Outback and several steps below the big name steakhouses. Decor is, well, in need of a makeover. It's a little dark inside and seemingly in need of deep clean. A highlight can be service. It's friendly and pretty fast.

We had dinner here a week ago on our way south. It was so good we had dinner here last night on our way north. After a week of seafood we each had a steak. Both were cooked perfectly to our specifications. Server was fantastic as was the price.

FIVE STARS FOR SERVICE! Thank you so much to the Manager, Craig and his wonderful staff for accommodating our increased reservation at the very last minute. I had originally made reservations for 7, since my in-laws were visiting from Ohio. It was a extremely busy Friday night, and the restaurant and bar were overflowing with patrons. We were seated with in 10 minutes of our reservation waiting on the rest of the party, when they start walking in...not 2, but 7! We went from needing a table for 7 to needing a table for 12. Craig and his team were able to find us a spot in the restaurant to accommodate everyone and we had great service throughout the night! The menu is very diverse, so finding something for everyone's taste is easy. I had the Cajun Style (off of the seafood) and it was delicious. Everyone enjoyed their meal - we will be back!

Went to mill house steakhouse with a girlfriend for a girls night out. It was a Thursday night and the place was packed so we sat at the bar. There were several drink specials but we stuck with the $2 martini special.....and yes they were amazing. I figured for two dollars we would get watered down drinks but that was definitely not the case. For dinner I ordered the filet and was able to cut it with my fork. The piece of meat was very buttery and smooth and I enjoyed every last piece. My girlfriend ordered the same thing and it was equally as good. Our servers name was Chris and he helped us decide what to order and was very knowledgeable. The restaurant is laid back but you can still dress up and not feel out of place. It is out by the airport but worth the drive. In addition, mint magazine had a coupon for this restaurant which was the icing on the cake. Would recommend to anyone looking for a great meal and not wanting to spend a ton of money.

We have eaten at the Millhouse for many years now. It is a shining star among some real dimming lights around the airport. We have had good food and bad food from the Millhouse and the good food seems to be inching ahead. We did notice last night that they have really brightened up the place. But, I do see that they most not have a tall ladder for there are as many lights in the ceiling not working that there is lite. The food was pretty good this time. My pork osso bucco was cooked well very flavorful. The sides of seasonal veg was nice I did really like the onions. They had a little kick to them. The mashed potatoes were also delish and made with real red bliss potatoes too. My side of the table was quite well prepared. The other side wasn't so lucky. The seafood limone parts were really over cooked. The shrimp, scallops (very small) were all over but the mussels were cooked properly. The whole dish was just swimming in butter. Now, for the service it was pretty good and whole staff I think made a visit to our table. One brought us this and another brought us that. The young lady that took our order checked in sometimes but we still had to get someone else to re-fill our drinks. They are trying I know and will return but maybe not in the near future. At least as long as we have a car running we will keep driving.

Holy Rachel Ray the menu selection is ginormous; from Asian to Creole, steak and potato to pasta galore, this restaurant has it all. With that being said, the mozzarella "loaf" and the spinach ravioli are only average. However, the gem is portion size- can I get a doggy bag, please!? What I really need is an AMEN for service with "2 snaps up" (alla "Men on Film")!!!!

Went here on a whim with a couple of friends. The place was packed, so we took a seat at the tables near the bar. We were beyond fortunate enough to have been served by a phenomenal young lady named Haley Wright. I ordered a steak (as should anyone eating at a steakhouse!) a New York Strip to be exact. It was cooked to absolute perfection. My friend let me try a bite of her Chicken Prosciutto Sandwich. I was blown away that a steak joint could produce something so flavorful and decadent. (On second thought, maybe order anything you like!) The food was wonderful, but it's the exceptional service that will have me going back. Food-8.5/10 Service-10/10

We stopped in here while passing through Jacksonville. They had a great prime rib, and their bread was really good. I'll definitely eat here again. I'd give it 5 stars if it had less of a wait. I think we waited 45 minutes to be seated.

The food was amazing!! Especially the bacon wrapped scallops. Our waitress was awesome and super friendly! She even sat down with us when answering our questions.

Food was good although not hot. Service was slow getting our food and for drinks and all subsequent drinks. We had to wait 1 1/2 hours to be seated after trying to make reservations and they said they don't take them. They told us 45 minute wait and was actually 1 1/2. Then they accidentally set our buzzer off and we get up there to be seated and it wasn't really our turn so we lost our waiting bench. No apologies or anything. Meal took 3 hours of our night. Sorry but won't happen again. Host/hostess people are bad at their jobs and just don't care. It's a shame because the place has potential and we are loyal customers to good places. Oh well!!!

Hands down the best steak that I have tasted thus far. Cris was very attentive and provided super service. I will definite come back again .

Confused menu with Italian, Asian and steak house choices. Had the prime rib - decent. Creamed spinach was way off, very bitter and with an odd taste to it. Rest was kind of standard fare "Outback" level food. Cheap booze - offering $2 martinis night we were there. What you would expect for $2 but works for buzz on a budget.

Fantastic place fora business meeting or for the family. They have a Bar area that is away from the dining are, and the staff is super awesome. Make sure you save some room for desert. The cheesecake is the greatest.

Awesome...here on business, got in late, got delivery of one of THE BEST ribeyes I've had...HUGE! And not expensive. As good as any expensive steakhouse I've eaten in. Super fast and friendly delivery!

This place was the second stop on the Wednesday Bday tour ... we arrived to find out that the drink specials were in effect! I had two IPA'S my lady had an apple martini & a pomegranate martini. We ordered some wings (drinking food) sat and talked with our new friends in Jax via Yelp.

What an amazing dinner! My husband and I are travelling on business. (he works, I play) Across from our hotel near the airport is the Millhouse Steakhouse. We ordered the house sirloins, I had French Onion soup & a crab cake with mine and my husband ordered the calamari and a house salad with his. Our server Courtney was very friendly, attentive, and efficient; we never had to ask for refills of iced tea or bread. Our steaks were cooked perfectly, little to no fat on them at all, and both my soup and crab cake were amazing as well. From start to finish the entire meal was excellent, highly recommend this place!

First of all, $1.99 margaritas! And on Wednesday, $10 off a bottle of wine! Parmesan garlic wings were fantastic crunchy cheesy goodness. Filet mignon was cooked perfect. Often steakhouses get the temp wrong. Gorgonzola sauce for the steak was really really good. We were visiting from CT and would definitely head here if in the area again!

I finally got to the Redneck Steakhouse. I wasn't as good as I'd hoped however. I ate at the bar, and my bartender Drew was excellent: he made me feel comfortable. Their cashier system did go down at the end of my meal, however, so my bill took a while to arrive. One of the best things I tried was the first: bread and butter. I like good bread and butter. The bread here was warm and fresh out of the oven, but it had little flavor. The butter, however, was good: oily, salty, and spreadably warm, just like I like it. It's been a while since I've had good butter with bread and this stuff made the bread well worth eating. Clearly one of Millhouse's strong points is it's permanent happy hour: many drinks are $2.47 all the time. I had two martinis: pomegranate and apple. I liked the pomegranate. I thought the apple was too sweet and artificial tasting. I got a New York Strip ($24) with white truffle mashed potatoes and asparagus ($1 extra). The strip wasn't bad (it was tender), but it didn't have much flavor. I'd been hoping that this place that advertised prime steaks in the $20s would be an exceptional value, but was disappointed. The mashed potatoes were fine but undistinguished: buttery but with no truffle flavor that I could detect. I liked the asparagus more than average: they were cooked till they weren't hard any more, which I like but don't usually get. I didn't think about it till now, but I ordered that steak with Gorgonzola butter but it didn't come with it. That Gorgonzola butter was one of the reasons I wanted to try this place, and I can't tell how much it could have changed my experience. I saw they have bacon-wrapped scallops ($10) on the menu, which I might like to try in the future. With tip it was $38. I might try Millhouse again but I won't make a point of it. For a value steak I'd take the $20 flat iron at III Forks over the $24 NY Strip at Millhouse (though sides may be extra at III Forks; I don't remember).

Don't sit at the bar area unless you don't mind really loud. All you middle aged folks might remember the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disney before the most recent movies. There was a man at the bar that sounded just like the pirate except he laughed the entire meal . Salad was good but lettuce was gritty. Needed to be washed. I had the chicken Marsala and it was good. Might give it another shot after all the reviews I was expecting more.

This was a work trip, and I REALLY wanted some red meat after subsisting on fast food for 6 days. The dining room is sort of like a warehouse, and very loud. The server was very attentive. First was homemade bread with butter and two herbed dipping oils. Very nice. Next was salad, which was very fresh and tasty. Next was medium rare prime rib, baked potato and asparagus. Asparagus was cooked perfectly. Baked potato was also perfect, and obviously fresh. My only issue was the Prime Rib. It wasn't awful...it was just.....odd. There was really no rub on it, and the meat texture was odd. not horrible, but have def had much better prime rib. The horseradish sauce had a very sweet component to it that I didn't really care for, but asked the server for straight horseradish and added it, so that made it palatable for me. Overall, probably one of the better dining options at the airport, and will visit again.

I'm not much of steak eater, so I went with the pork chops. Large portion of food, but not impressed by the taste of the pork chops. However, I was happy with the sides that I ordered (red beans & rice , seasonal veggies, and asparagus). They also had a $2 draft special after 4pm everyday. Clean restaurant and friendly staff. I would go back but not for the pork chops.

  • Linda B.

The food here is good but not great. The bread with the olive oil and herbs for dipping is the biggest drawing card for this fat kid. I had chicken Parmesan which is really tough to make bad. Tomato sauce hides a multitude of sins. The happy hour all day every day is a huge drawing card with $1.99 cocktails and beers. The service on this Friday night was the story of the experience. The server came to greet us after a short time. While she took our drink order she was complaining about them seating a 3rd table in her station. I think the quote was " yes I am super woman tonight". Oh Yes it was downhill from there. After waiting an annoyingly long time and 2servings of bread later, our meals finally came. While our server was chatting in the soda station, our dinner was delivered and guess what, it wasn't exactly hot, surprise! The mill house really needs some Cracker Jack manager to whip the staff into shape and teach them how to work together as a team,to take better care of the customers. News flash, that's how you make money in the food service industry, SERVICE,

Passing through on a business trip. I had the Salad with grilled salmon. The salmon was good, but the salad was underwhelming. I guess that's my fault for ordering a salad at a steak restaurant... Given that there are very few dining options in the area, I imagine this is one of the best. Cheap lunch, so I'm not complaining.

Had a delicious filet mignon which I ordered rare and they came through. Our server, Lindsay, was fantastic! Ask for her when you go. She was prompt and courteous with a great personality. I recommend going during happy hour to get some amazing drink deals. We didn't partake but wish we could have. Their homemade buttermilk ranch dressing is deliciously creamy. Their bread and oil nearly filled me up, I couldn't sop eating it. The truffle mashed potatoes were average- super creamy and buttery; pick a different side.

When we visit my relatives in Florida we fly in and out of JAX. We normally stay at a close by hotel on our last night. We like to fly out early. I have been wanting to try the Millhouse Steakhouse because most reviews are good and I generally prefer non chain food. This week we got to MS. Truthfully my first impression was not great. I was not impressed with the décor and I thought that the floor was dirty. Turns out that the lighting made the floor LOOK dirty. It was not. Our waitress (Terri) was helpful, nice and attentive. We had questions about the food and drinks and she was cheerful the whole time. She even brought me a sample of their margarita mix to taste before I ordered. Too many places make their margarita way too sour. Points for Terri. Our meal started with Italian bread served with whipped butter and two differed herbed olive oils for dipping. Really good. I ordered shrimp & grits and my wife ordered the lasagna, both from the small meal list. We wanted to save room for desserts. Both our meals were excellent. My shrimp & grits was the best I every had. My wife liked her lasagna a lot. Their meal "presentation" was excellent. For dessert we ordered the crème brulee cheesecake and panna cotta. WOW again! Would I recommend Millhouse Steakouse? Yes! Would I go back? Yes!

We came here for a work dinner (on Valentine's Day no less) and despite hearing good things about this place from coworkers I did not have high hopes. Something about being right by the airport and what it looked like from the outside just turned me off. BUT, I was pleasantly surprised. We got here around 5:45pm which is SUPER early for dinner in my household but this place was jammed so I guess others have alternative ideas for dinner time. We had a slight wait due to the volume but we made ourselves at home near the bar and had a couple of drinks. Once seated, our server was very efficient. I ordered the petite fillet and it was cooked just like how I liked it. The truffle mashed potatoes were awesome, other than the onions they sneaked in. I also had the penne macaroni and cheese which was good - not awesome - but solidly good.

We tried Mill House Steakhouse after watching a great movie at Hollywood River City. My sister and brother-in-law have tried Mill House before and suggested we go there. At first, I was really reluctant because their description was "... the menu is huge and has everything ranging from steak to Italian to Chinese..." O.o eh... what? I am more in favor of "do one thing and do it great" when it comes to eating at a restaurant. I mean, not that the one thing is like... one dish, but more of 'stick to the cuisine you know' type one thing. At any rate, being in a good mood (i.e. just watched a great movie) and not wanting to rock the boat as the 'picky eater' that my sister always teased me about, I muttered something to the effect of... "Sure... always good to try a new restaurant..." So off we went. Well, the restaurant was huge. Very spacious. The hostess was very friendly and seated us at a big booth. The menu was... as promised... huge and ranging from steak to Italian, to yep... Chinese. I ordered an $1.99 strawberry margarita and I must say, for $1.99, it's pretty darn good. I also ordered grilled then fried wings with parmesan and gorgonzola dip and it was DELICIOUS. For the meal, I ordered their cajun jambalaya seafood pasta. I must say, it wasn't what I expected, it was more like a heavy seafood pasta with Alfredo sauce. Though tasty, I could only eat about a quarter of it before it got too heavy for me. My husband ordered a cowboy ribeye, medium rare, with seafood gumbo and potatoes as side. Everything was delicious. My brother-in-law's dish though, stole the show... the Pork Osso Bucco... braised bone in pork. The meat was fall-off-the-bone tender and flavorful. I still may not trust a restaurant that is 'jack of all trades' to order me a Kung Pao Chicken, but I am definitely a fan of Mill House and will return to try something different. Oh yeah, and the service was great too.

Well lots of good reviews, but I guess Sunday nights are busy. Slow service and slower food. The scallops were very well done at best and the Mahi Mahi took 45 minutes to show up. The waiter said it was busy, but people getting seated finished their dinner before I got mine. If the order was missed just say so, I wasn't in a hurry, but hate being lied too. The only thing the waiter said is they were running out of food. The Mahi Mahi was decent, but nothing to write home about.

When to this place because they had seafood on their menu and I was in Jacksonville. Asked my server if the fish was fresh and she said it was fresh when they froze it. Ok, onto the steaks. Ordered the prime rare. Meal was served up and the steak looked like it was boiled (grey in color and not very appetizing). My server said it was they way they cook them. They nearly cook them, let them cool, then finish cooking them in au jus. Too long in the bath...the center was rare but the outside was, not really sure what it was. My traveling colleague ordered the lasagna and it was blah. Another minus was that it was really loud. On a positive note, the service was really good.

  • Kevin D.

For what it holds itself to be, a nice steak place, I can't rate more than 3. Simply put just ok. They were busy but seating was awkward and hostess was indifferent even though we made reservations. Menu was confusing, asian/seafood/cajun/steak/Mexican exhausting. 2 pages of appetizers? Why would I order Norway salmon on the coast of florida? Did order the Mahi seasoning was very good but overcooked. The sides were decent. They did have yuengling on tap so that was the highlight for me.

  • John K.

Seriously- what the fuck?? 1. It was a big group order- but they give us no way to identify our order on any of the containers. That is some 101 shit right there. 2. I ordered my burger with no pickles. It came with pickles. 3. Actually, it included every fucking condiment in the book. Anyone who has ever eaten a burger knows you get the condiments on the side. Again, 101. Also, when you get the side of rice and beans, it should really say "rice and meat". Fucking idiots. All this brings me to the conclusion that they don't give a shit, just want to take your money and get you out. And the food isn't even that good. **UPDATE** Everyone else in my group got their order screwed up, too.

The shrimp and grits were amazing, succulent shrimp and grits taken to another level. An the crab cakes that followed were haut as tasty. My friends had the pork chops and they said they were very good. Friendly service and relaxed atmosphere.

I would have given 4 or 5 stars had the atmosphere been different. I do not like the interior. It's is not intimate. The menu and the prices are great. I loved the food and the wine. The service was superb. Our server, Terri, was wonderful. I would recommend this place if you are in the area and waiting for a flight.

This is the sludgiest food I've eaten in a long time. Ordered a shrimp and coleslaw appetizer and an almond crusted mahi mahi for main course. Shrimp was way too sugary, but the coleslaw was 1/2 cabbage and 1/2 jalapenos. Scary bad. But the main course really took the cake. The fish was evidently crusted in marmalade, not almonds. It tasted like a horribly sweet desert, and it was mushy to boot. Not only that, but instead of a mahi fillet, what came was about 4 small ribbons of fish, like someone had cut a fillet into little ribbons. Accompanying veggies were evidently donated by the local school cafeteria after they sat the whole day there on the steam table. This was a truly disgusting experience! And my hotel bus driver had recommended the place as a good local restaurant. The only good thing I can say about the place is that the young waitress was pleasant and prompt. Did I mention the screaming? This place is evidently the backup choice for parents who did not want to drive to Chuck E Cheese. Out of control kids running around and screaming their lungs off. The person I tried talking to on the cellphone hung up on me, saying the background noise is impossible. To top everything else off, while they have WiFi, it is beyond worthless. With the dining room only about 1/5 full, nothing moved on their network and I resorted to disabling wifi and using the cellphone data. Tomorrow night, I'll be going to Red Lobster. No, they don't win awards, but they're consistent and I know I won't get sludge there.

Love this place! Great food, wide variety, good all-day happy hour drink prices... and friendly staff. The only problem is that the acoustics in the building are very poor. Unfortunately the night we were there, there was a large group of 25 seated right down the middle of the dining room. We could barely hear each other talk. However the waiter apologize for the noise and also a manager came by later to make sure that everything was okay and again apologized for the noise. We were told that they usually put the large party groups in the back. But this time they had no notice that they were coming. I can forgive them for that as everything else was excellent and nice. Just remember that this is a fun place not a place for romantic chatting!!

With all the traveling I do, I LOVE the fact that it is next to the airport! Go every time when flying into JAX and haven't had a bad dinner yet. Prices are good and the service is friendly.

The bartenders are great! Pat and Sam will take care of you and make you feel like a local. The prime rib is very good, and the tuna is pretty great too! In short, if you want a good LOCAL place, this is it.

A colleague and I stopped by for some grub after landing in JAX. We were totally overwhelmed with the food and service. Yeah, it's a steakhouse, which offers a wide menu (from Italian to seafood), but with a full service bar and awesome servers and staff. I also met a fellow Chiver (Brody), and through RAK... got 20% our tab! Chive On!

Excellent steaks and really cheap draft prices! $1.99 all day and night! Friendly and attentive service.

I have a love hate relationship w this place. Sometimes the experience is phenomenal and others well not so much. Most times the steaks are tasty. Especially ribeye. The red beans and rice is an epic fail. Weird aftertaste. Not a great Cajun spice to it. The bread w butter and oil choices is a nice touch. Happy hr all day every day. 1.99 drafts martinis margaritas. That is baller. Service is up and down. So last night... Horrible service. Ordered happy hr drinks to start and he looked like he didn't want to be there. Asking for a water was an annoyance. No bread service. I ordered a side salad w no cucumber. It was basically a lettuce plate w two tomatoes. Umm really??? No other veggies cheese croutons. Nothing. Thought I was in prison. The steakhouse burger was great but a lil overlooked. It had mushrooms carmelized onions and Gorgonzola sauce. The other person w me enjoyed his bacon cheeseburger. The fries were barely cooked. Waiter never came to check on us so that I could ask for a new side. After no attention and empty drinks I threw my card on the table. He took it w no copy to show my charges. Disappointed. The menu is all over the place. It's an Asian Italian steakhouse seafood southern restaurant. Stick w a focus and the wait staff wont be overwhelmed and the food would b consistent.

Great food. Started off with bacon wrapped scallops that tasted wonderful. Tiny scallops, but that's okay. Definitely a weird menu, but my husband had the prime rib and cleaned his plate. Shrimp scampi had a bit too much butter, but overall pretty good. My daughters all enjoyed their food, and our server was very attentive.

Diamond in the rough! Sorry Northside you still are a bit rough around the edges. This is the premier steakhouse in Jax. No not Ruths Chris or any other over priced chain. They serve just about every type of food, so it's hard to call them a steakhouse. You can order seafood, Italian, Chinese, americana and of course beef! The dishes with Gorgonzola cheese are my favorite. Oh and drinks are $1.99 all day every day! If this doesn't sway your decision you're un-American. I hope they add two or three more locations around town that way I can tell my friends to go here that don't want to drive up to the Northside. Awesome

Two visits...two bad experiences...two times I had to send food back. First visit....just got a burger, jumbalaya, and red beans and rice. Burger was nearly raw, had to send it back. Came out ok after waiting for it. The rest was ok. Next time I went I ordered a steak. Sirloin dish. Was terrible. Bad taste, fatty, charred...it had the taste of a burn coal. When I asked for another and told them that I'd rather have a different cut they brought me another not very good tasting steak then ended up charging me extra for my meal. They said that the different cut of steak normally came with 2 premium sides and that the new meal cost more. But I didn't get a whole new meal...just got the steak. They were so confused that even the manager came over and tried to convince me that I had to pay more. When I told her I didn't get or want a whole meal, she finally just said ok, charged me the normal price then maybe even knocked a few bucks off. I didn't want a free meal, didn't want a discount, I just didn't want to pay more for a different meal that I hadn't ordered. Bottom line...I went twice, both times were bad experiences and the food was not even very good. Won't be back.

Last night we stopped in Jacksonville for the evening and decided to try the Millhouse. We had been to the one in Brusnwick, Georgia about a year ago. The place is a little noisey. It was Father's Day night about 7 pm. The restaurant was crowded but we were seated immediately. We had a very good server by the name of April. She was both pleasant and knowledgeable. We started with a couple of glasses of wine. The wine list could probably use some improveement. For starters we tried the Flatbreads with the Steak and Gorgonzola. Absolutely perfect. Entrees were the Chioppani and Chicken with pasta. I'm used to a more tomato based Chiopannani. However, this was good. The chicken with pasta was also very good. We both enjoyed our meal. The price is also very reasonable.

My husband and I met some friends for dinner here. We had been meaning to give it a try, but just never got a chance. I was a little overwhelmed by how large the menu was, but I guess that is there way of making sure you come back so you can try more. Well, it's working on us! I ordered a ravioli dish and really enjoyed it. I barely finished because the portions are so big. My husband ordered a steak and said it was one of the best he has had since we moved down here. They have a $1.99 drink special that includes A LOT of different drinks. I would definitely give this place a shot! The prices are good, the staff is friendly, and the food is good!

The food is good but the service at the Bar totally sucks! They weren't even busy. My BF likes to overtip everywhere we go. This time he just tipped the minimum. Also, we parked in back & someone tried to break into his car. That's not the restaurants fault but just another reason for me to stay away.

We were staying in a nearby hotel, perusing menus in the lobby and one of the workers suggested we try this place. He insured us we would "have a good time" there. It was a Friday night and dinner time so we had a twenty minute wait. Once inside, service was alright. Pretty friendly. I had stuffed mushrooms that hotel dude raved about and ribs for dinner, washed it down with a nasty glass of red wine that tasted old. Everything was just that, alright. Ended up getting horribly sick that night and I have a feeling it may have been the mushrooms or old wine, but can't say 100% because I did fly that afternoon so it could have been the plane ride. This is a one-time-deal kinda place for me, don't see myself returning. The big pro was the proximity to hotel but nothing really stood out- unless you like fruity cocktails made with well liquor- they had tons of those on special.

I love this place. I have lived here in Jax since 2007 and I come here every year on my birthday as well as a few other times during the year. I am very picky about my steak and they nail it every time which is why I continue to return. I did have one not so good experience one time, but they have since made up for it. That server is no longer there ( I had nothing to do with that, though). Give them a try...you might like.

My wife and I have eaten at Millhouse on several occasions and have always found the food to pretty good, but the service has been lacking lately. Our recent visit is a prime example. We ordered a fried mozzarella appetizer and two rib eyes, one rare, the other medium rare. Not long after that the drama began. First, our salads arrived, this was fine other than you should always receive the appetizer first. Then before we had finished the salad our steaks arrived. I informed the two servers that we had ordered an appetizer and to take the steaks back and to cook us two fresh ones, DO NOT REHEAT those steaks!!! It seems our server forgot to put the appetizer order in and she apologized. The manager brought out the appetizer and once again offered an apology and informed us that they would be cooking us new steaks. We enjoyed the appetizer and then our steaks arrived. My wife's was rare, not medium rare and mine was RAW!!! I do mean RAW!!! When the manager came to check on us I gave him the bad news. He agreed and went back to the kitchen and cooked them himself. Finally the manager brought out our steaks and they were perfect, once again he apologized. Overall, this was a very disappointing visit and there is nothing worse than trying to enjoy a meal when you are aggravated by incompetence...We will have to evaluate whether to go back or not. At this point, I am leaning NOT!!!

It is the closest non-fast food restaurant to the airport and dropped in for pickup on my way to my hotel. The restaurant is dark inside, like an English pub, brown woods, tables and booths. It is a steakhouse that has a plethora of options, asian food, italian food, burgers, steaks. It does not take a Warren Buffett to figure out this is a red flag. To be safe, I asked the wait person what her favorites are on the menu. Then I asked what customers love to order there and I couldn't have been more correct. She recommended Chicken Marsala. She said she loved it and people order this very often. Bingo! I ordered it to go. I picked up my food, salad, chicken and safely put the bag on the floor of my rental car. I didn't notice anything weird about the package, it looked fairly stable. But a little mishap happened on the way back to my hotel. As soon as I stepped on the brakes to prepare to stop, the bag with my food toppled over???!!! The restaurant packed all sorts of small packages (napkins, rolls etc.) under the entree that the bag rolled over and.............. I had my 4 letter moment! I drove right back and gave them a 5 letter moment!! The restaurant dutifully gave me another order and packed it well. When I did get to the Hyatt, I decided to eat downstairs and the staff noticed I had brought in a ToGo order. Utensils came out and they unpacked my food to dishes and served me, thank you Hyatt Place. The chicken was good, nice marsala sauce and really tasty garlic and butter mashed potatoes. Because of the spillage that went wrong, I give this place 2 stars: Less one star for packaging , 1 less star for trying to serve too many cuisines but a master of none, 1 less star for the management not making up for the mishap. Note: The menu is trying to cater too many tastes. Since there aren't many options around, I would ask the wait staff for what is popular there and you will have a better experience. It is a steakhouse and I don't come here for steak. I came here because I wanted a quick bite before bed.

Ate here on Jan 30, 2014. Ordered the grilled salmon with baked rice pilaf and veggies. Salmon was over cooked, dry, and obviously frozen for a while before being grilled. Rice pilaf and veggies were so salty that I could barely eat them. Huge menu, good service, but the food I had was below average......

Sounds like the "Millhouse" in all cities have the same problem, they don't know what they are -- a steak house? or a variety restaurant with no taste to their food. The lighting was so dark, it was hard to see the menus. I understand the concept of "mood lighting" but, this time it was just too dark. The wait staff was more interested in each other than the customers. Go across the street to "Ruby Tuesday", or down the street to "The Logan's Roadhouse" in the River City Market Place shopping center, for a good steak dinner at reasonably priced meals with a clean, airy, kind and professional wait staff to serve you.

The menu is very extensive, that's true. However, it might be considered schizophrenic for all that variety. There's a good selection of Italian, steak, and seafood, but then there's other Thai, Chinese, and Mexican elements thrown in without any real sense of cohesiveness. As for the $1.99 drinks people talk about-they taste like they only cost $1.99. My margarita was watered down, and you could barely even taste the bottled margarita mix they used. The night we went, we stuck with steak- a 12oz prime rib and a petite filet (Which the menu didn't even give the weight for-weird...) Salads before the meal were pretty standard, except there were no croutons on the Caesar. The filet was tender and had a great flavor. The prime rib was a little tough and not the most flavorful I've had, but overall, it was pretty tasty. We had broccoli and the smoked mac n cheese as our sides, and both were really good. Dessert really lost me, though. I LOVE a well done tiramisu, and the description on the menu here had me hopeful. House-made, served in a cup so you know where it was made. (I sort of figure you could put frozen into a cup, but whatever...). Anyway, what I got was a piece of cheesecake with a coffee soaked crust, and the basics of tiramisu on top, with chocolate sauce poured over the whole thing. Major letdown. Not only was this NOT tiramisu, it was not even what was on the menu. Time to update, I guess. For all my complaints, all in all, the restaurant was nice, if a little loud. We'll probably be back, but we plan to go to Maggianno's the next time I want tiramisu.

Terrible TERRIBLE service. In fact, service was nearly non-existent. Terrible food. I took three bites out of my gumbo and then didn't eat any more. My screwdriver tasted like water and vodka with a splash of OJ. I don't recommend this restaurant to anyone, for anything.

Definitely NOT a traditional steakhouse and you'll find much better steak at the well-known chains of steak houses. We ordered 3 steaks; the prime rib was so tough it was difficult to cut with their steak knife; neither of the two NY strips were very good and we didn't want to finish them. The appetizers were hit or miss but the service and atmosphere were nice. I'm sure there may be some good food to be had on their extensive menu, but a steakhouse this is not.

Thought it was fantastic. First $1.99 drinks all day everyday! The bread is great, crispy outside and soft and hot on the inside. Comes with two oils and butter. Enjoyed some mussels that were very good, nice garlic wine sauce. Then the ribeye. Cooked a perfect med/rare as ordered. Tender!! I was very happy, for the price this is a good steakhouse! Please note they tend to get busy and food may come a tad slow but sit back and enjoy a drink!

Our hotel recommended this location for dinner ~ We loved the idea.. Based on the price of the drinks alone! Off we went, there were 3 of us ~ All of us wanted something different & This place fit the bill~~ Funny enough we had been speaking of Gordon Ramsey earlier in the day & after reviewing the pages & pages of items on the menu, Thinking you can't have this many items on the menu and be good at all of them.... Well... This place proved me WRONG! My friend Lori had the Calamari it was De-Lish, Light, great batter!! My friend Andy got a Steak, (Cooked Perfectly) with truffle potatoes, Steak was huge & Fantastic ~ I had the Mahi-Mahi with Lemon Butter & steamed asparagus .... It was OUT OF THIS WORLD YUMMY!!!!!! I'm a very picky when it comes to my MahiMahi ~ Presentation was beautiful! The cherry on top was actually a very decent "Dirty Martini" for 1.99!~ Really,,, I can't wait to go back! Our waiter was Courtney ~ He was a hoot, very professional, & a chef... Thanks for proving me Wrong!

I have to admit, I walked in to the Mill House expecting yet another cheesy chain restaurant with below average food quality and service. On a Lay over in JAX last December 24th, we decided to walk on over and check it out. I have to say the food and service, but especially the food was well above average. First, they bring a bread basket with oils and butter to dip in, if you so desire you can order more bread as our group did. The chicken Marsala that I ordered was delicious, along with the mashed potatoes and broccoli that I ordered. The other three members of our party ordered the prime rib, the meat loaf, and the fish and chips. All three looked excellent, I only tried the prime rib and I have to say it was great. The bill for dinner was well priced, definitely would go again.

The food was acceptable. The staff was very friendly. The bathrooms were clean with paper towels. The interior was not conducive to warm and relaxing. Too loud. The steak was a 3 out of 5. The Louisiana Potato Wedges were a pretty good appetizer.

If yelp offered the ability to rate this place zero stars I would. We both had steaks (expecting a steak house would have great steaks). We were wrong. The place was huge but empty. I don't know how they pay the overhead - they have GOT to be losing money! Menu was massive - it really would be hard for any restaurant to do everything well on a menu that big. Note - I am writing this review in 2011, but we actually had our lousy experience there in 2010, so who knows, maybe they've gotten better. Either way, one thing is for sure - we'll never go back.

Comfortable but dark interior setting with music in the background. Menu selections range from steaks and seafood to pasta and Asian. Appy selections are numerous and diverse. Food quality was very good with a matching level of service. This is a good choice for an enjoyable meal.

It's my own fault for going to a steakhouse knowing I'd be ordering fish or vegetarian. Nonetheless, it was across the street from our airport, the menu had many veggie and fish options, so it seemed like a good idea. I ordered the fresh catch Asian style with steamed vegetables. The mahi was well prepared, but the vegetables were a great disappointment. All the color and crispness was cooked out of them, and they resembled something that had been on a steam table for three hours at a Chinese luncheon buffet. However, the wait staff was friendly and efficient and it was convenient. I might give them a second chance.

I went here with my mom and aunt for dinner. We ordered some drinks and they were strong! The waitress came and took our order and my aunt told the waitress she had to eat gluten free. We placed our orders and a couple minutes later one of the chefs came out to explain to my aunt that what she had ordered did have some wheat flour in it and he made some suggestions on what she could have and offered to make her a special dish. That and the mashed potatoes are the reason for my 4-star rating. I had the prime rib and I did not care for the seasoning on it. It was just too much and took over the natural flavor of the meat. The waitress forgot to put in our appeitizer order. Overall not a bad place. The next time I'm in town I'll probably stop by.

A dark and nicely decorated interior. This place is fairly big, and also the main dish is big as well. I was picking up my friends (total 4 ppl) from JAX airport and found this place on google maps + yelp.com through blackberry. The place had lots of cars parked in the front, so we were confident about our choice. We were fairly satisfied by the food. I would have given a 4 star, and I think I'll try this place again next time. The problem we had was that the price on the final check was different from the menu. Not just one mistake, but on both of our split check we had $3~4 more. We complained and a different waitress came to fix it for us. I cannot tell if this was intentional, but you should be careful!! CHECK THE AMOUNT OF THE FINAL BILL!

All I can say is PHENOMENAL! in a world full of mediocre chain steak-joints, this is a gem. They're not just steak...they have great variety in their menu (Tuscan Ital., Chinese, Southern, "Deep South" - think Low Country & Creole, & a VERY hot Spicy selection.) I had twin tiny tenderloins one night, succulent twin 3oz medallions cooked & seasoned to perfection. Two nights later it was the Very Hot & Spicy Mahi steak. Each meal (w/appetizers) was $20 for me alone, and I was satisfied. This is a must stop if you're around the airport. Heck, it's worth the drive up from downtown even.

American Airlines canceled my flight and I was forced to stay in Jacksonville another night - bummer. I was in a miserable mood. the bell boy gave me a To Go menu. I just wanted delivery to my room. SUCCESS / SURPRISE! The Chicken Parm was baked fresh and tasty and the Mud Cake was appropriately sinful. I'd recommend Millhouse if you're in the area.

Oooooh, Do I love me a big slab o' cow! Mill House is basically the only non-chain restaurant near the hotels at the Jacksonville airport. This fact alone made it more appealing than the franchise places in the area. I must admit that my first impression was not too favorable being that selection of beers they had on tap were both limited and and not very interesting. I settled for a bottle (or 3) of Sam Adams. The menu is huge. Probably too big really. Being that this place is a steak house, I opted for the rib eye. My partner had the steak salad. I often like to say that there is true bliss in simplicity. This dinner fit that bill. The steak was a quality piece of meat that was cooked perfectly. I had mashed potatoes with it that were pretty good as well but a little bit salty. My partner liked his steak salad as well. Good food at a decent price. I give it a thumbs up.

My family and I dined at the Mill House based on the reviews here on Yelp. The food was ok - not really all that special. The cheese cake was really good. But, I may not have given it a fair chance because before I even ordered, I was already turned off to the restaurant. The first page of the menu advertises Chilean Sea Bass. I'm not an environmental nut, but I know enough to know that this fish is extremely endangered and fishing of it is illegal in Chile. While it may not be illegal to buy illegally fished Chilean Sea Bass and serve it here in the US, I think it is highly unethical to serve it and even worse to advertise it as the thing that makes your restaurant great. When I asked the waitress about it, she indicated she didn't know, but said she'd mention it but was pretty sure the owner would not care. She described him as not very nice. We were on the road for 12 hours and this was just what we needed. The food was great and the service was wonderful. We also had some great desserts that we took back to the hotel which made for a good ending to a long day. We will always be stopping here when going through Jax. from now on.

Literally just left the Mill House Steakhouse and boy was I impressed! I am a flight attendant and get to eat at establishments all around the world. Never have I had such outstanding customer service at a restaurant. My steak was a little overcooked but still very delicious. The waitress informed the manager on duty, Craig, who not only apologized and paid for our next round of drinks, but when our airport shuttle didn't show up, personally drove us to our hotel! Outstanding customer service, to match the delicious food, and reasonable prices! I know where I'll be heading when I'm in Jacksonville! Thanks Craig!!

Went to this restaurant several times and had an OK meal. Last time it was crowded (December 2010) and loud. I ended up in the bar and had horrible service. I had to get my own menu and silverware. I ordered an appetizer and a steak. The Steak came an hour later after I complained. The waiter told me he delayed putting in the order so I could enjoy my appetizer. What they called a filet mignon was a poor excuse for beef. It was overcooked and no where near the stated 10 ounces. It also had few mushrooms. I showed it to the manager who even said it looked bad. She claimed they were very busy that night. My replacement steak came out in 10 minutes but it wasn't much better in quality. The Asian vegetables have always been a disappointment there but it's the best option they have. I felt ripped off and I was on a company expense account! They get the business by offering $1.99 drinks.

Dined here a month ago with the wife and must say I am a fan. The place has a nice atmosphere and the lighting I thought, was just right(not to bright or dark) The service was very good as well as the food. The menu selection is huge. The bread brought out was very good. My wife ordered the porterhouse steak and it was cooked to perfection - she loved it. I ordered lasagna and a salad and they were delicious as well. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Had bacon wrapped scallops, caesar salad, dirty martini, and filet with shrimp scampi. Martini was nasty, but it was my first so nothing to compare it to nice thing though, our waitress didn't charge me for it! Scallops were great, and so was fillet, but the salad and shrimp....meh. Service was great...ask for Steph!

This is one of the better steak chain restaurants. The food was good. I've had crab cakes and steaks and both are enjoyable. I'd like to have more seafood to choose from, though. Don't expect a quiet, romantic experience; the place is one of the noisiest restaurants I've eaten at. There is very little sound absorbing material in the ceiling so sounds echo all over the place, combined with piped in music.

I tried to find a website for this place but found nothing. A very nice steakhouse a few min. away from the Jacksonville Airport. They have a very nice wine list and a killer meatloaf. The portions are great, I mean it is the south so EVERYTHING is bigger when it comes to portions. Great sides as well. Better than ANYTHING you will find at the airport. If you have a layover of an hour or two its worth driving down and checking out.

Great idea, poor execution. The place is a roadhouse style eatery that specializes in steak and fish. They spent a decent amount of money in creating a warehouse decor that is comfortable. Think "Freebirds" meets "Longhorn." However, after that initial investment that have failed to keep up the place. The menus where beautiful... and sticky. The drinks were ok. They had a special going on beers, but there selection was nothing to brag about, typical bud or coors domestic line with one foreign and two local brews. The service was ok. The uniforms were yet another sign that someone had spent decent money only to let poor management run down the place. The food itself was average. The best thing we had was the cajun calamari appetizer. The ribs I ordered were fine, but a little cold and the whole table's food just felt a little off. If I went back to this place and the inside was cleaner than on my first visit I would consider ordering again to give it a second shot.

We thought something might be fishy when we pulled into the parking lot. Not only did the outside resemble a roadhouse, but one foot in the door and we realized we weren't in Kansas anymore. Upon entering, we both looked to make sure the seats were clean before taking two seats at the bar. The $1.99 martini's should have given it away, or the whole drink menu...wine, $2.49, beer $1.50. They brought a dirty martini on the rocks. We felt funny about the $1.99 so we upped it to Kettle One to insure quality. I ordered the house red. I'm not sure what was worse, the one sip of the paint-thinner martini or the hangover the next day from the house red. Tried one bite of a green olive and had to spit it out...it was clearly rotten. My friend felt like she had been ruffied after one sip. But we still couldn't help being excited about ordering off of a menu where nothing was over four dollars. I opted for the yellowfin tuna served rare with asparagus and mixed asian vegetables. She must have misunderstood because she brought moldy asian vegetables. As for the rare tuna, if you could call it that, the gristle could be seen from across the bar and hopefully that is what the 3 hicks over there were staring at all night, but I doubt it. I should never have eaten it after realizing my fork couldn't get through, but I was really hungry so I had to put up with the potent smell of bad fish lingering on my tongue for the next 24 hours. Yes, I brushed. Don't doubt me on this. I can say this, the asparagus and my friends broccoli were edible. I hate going to places that make me feel like a stuffy biotch but this place was one of them. For one thing, my friend was in mid sentence and all of sudden started slurring her words. Either she had been ruffied, they were serving Everclear, or we were drinking turpenoid. The guy on the barstool next to me was hitting on me. His pickup line, "Here's a picture of my son." Do Millhouse and Steakhouse rhyme in Florida? Maybe just a nice ring to it? If you're looking for a good laugh or a creative writing op, it comes highly recommended...just don't eat or drink anything there and wear your dungarees...leave the white pants at home.
