I am only reviewing this location based on my experiences at the bar...The staff is super friendly and very helpful... The drinks here are very good...There is plenty of seating outside if you'd prefer to sit outside.... I'll update my review in the future when I eat the food....

Enjoyed this quick visit. Need to go back to try an adult milkshake. The hamburger unfortunately was way over cooked. Would have sent back if I wasn't in a rush. To bad. However, the Bacon Onion Compote was one of the best things I've ate in a long time. If I had that on top of a medium rare burger I might have just fulfilled my life's existence. Also had a Mexican Style soda with a Luchadore on it! Yes baby, ala Nacho Libre. Sold me on that one. Since I don't live in area I probably won't come back to get a correctly cooked burger. And I would drive up from Ocala to do it. But if I'm close by again one day I'd come back. Cool atmosphere great beer selection. Open air seating at bar. Staff friendly and helpful always a good sign. Thx guys

Note: I am reviewing the bar area only.... not the food. I have to say, I was very put off by the food at the Town Centre location. It actually made me sick. Because of that, I haven't been able to bring myself to eat here. I know it's a different location and I should give it a shot... and I will.... one of these days. However, I have found I absolutely LOVE the bar here. It's awesome that the bar has a "pass through," so you can sit outside and you don't have to go in to get your drinks. They even have bar stools at the bar outside as well as tables. They have this one signature alcoholic beverage here that keeps me coming back. It's a basil strawberry lemonade and has a nice pour. Love that it comes with a rock candy stick in a cute mason jar. The presentation of the drink is just great. I love to sit on the patio and have a couple of these while the hubby has a few beers. I don't know a lot about beer, but they do have a really nice selection. Love all the bartenders. They are really sweet. Great customer service. So, until I get the nerve up to try the food, I'll keep coming here to get my drink on when I'm in the 5 Points area. When I do finally try the food, I'll make sure to update this review.

Went here on a Saturday at around 12pm. Very busy and parking is a hassle. Of course I know it's lunch time. My friends and I ended up parking on the side street. Very nice outside seating and bar. Lots of people. The menu has a good selection of burgers, hot dogs, and Build your Own Burger. The normal American burger joint. Nice selection of bottled drinks right at the register and also fountain drinks. I ordered the Build your own burger. I had a single patty (medium well), jalapeños, grilled onions (25 cents), sautéed mushrooms (50 cents), pickles, ketchup and mayo. Came out very juicy and delicious. Only paid $5. My friends ordered their burgers and large house fries to share amongst all of us. Fries were pretty good. Crispy and hot, good with the M Shack sauce. Overall, the restaurant was good. Best to get there when it's not busy. I would come back sometimes when I'm on that side of town.

The food is so delicious, I'm always a little confused by the disposable little food baskets that are used instead of dishes. There must be something to it! I love that everything about this place tries to stay as close to home as possible: owners, food, beverages. The usual food tastes unusual. What makes this place killer are the shakes! My friend Debbie invited me to have their peanut butter shake with some little bacon bits. It was heavenly! If there were a fun, low-key place to take my brother when in from out of town, this place would be one of them!

Wow, move out of the way shack shack. This place allows you to truly customize your eating experience . I had the crab cake burger (with an actual burger patty ) sandwiched . It was delicious. The place was very trendy and mood was pleasant . Wish they had one in Tampa bay .

With our dinner plans cancelled and no food in the house, my husband and I decided to wander over to Five Points and see what caught our fancy. The verdict: burgers. I had never been to M Shack before, so I spent a few minutes poring over the menu and being amazed at the sheer quantity of options! I could have had any of a number of different specialty or build-your-own burgers, various sandwiches, salads, shakes, fries... I'm sure we'll be back just to try something new! I ended up getting the Asian burger, but with chicken subbed in for the beef, and it was pretty darn good! Moist chicken, Asian slaw, cheese... how can you go wrong? My only complaint is that whatever liquid sauce was on the burger mostly ended up in the basket the burger came in or on my fingers, rather than in my stomach. The husband went all out with a portobello burger (same sauce problem), queso fries, and a cookies and cream shake, all of which I sampled, all of which were pretty tasty, and all of which were completely gone in minutes, so clearly he liked them too! :) One thing to be aware of when you order is that if you're a water drinker, their default water cup is a teeny tiny thing that you'll be taking up to the counter or bar several times to refill. I will have to find out next time if I can get a larger cup, or just remember to bring my own water.

I first came here for a yelp Event that rocked my world. Since then I've returned to several Mshack locations. I'm hooked. Their veggie burgers are amazing and affordable at $4.95 before extra toppings. Free house fries when you check in on yelp? I'm down. The place is busy yet service is fast. The bartender is extremely friendly and efficient. Awesome selection of local craft beers. Personally I love the "adult milkshakes." You cannot go wrong with these! Stop by if you love a qualify burger, fries, and drinks!

I ate at their food truck at a Jag's game. Besides being affordable, my burger was perfectly cooked to order and delicious. If I lived in Jacksonville I would definitely eat in their restaurant.

Big, juicy, customizable burgers (and veggie burgers, and tempeh, and crab cakes!) delicious fries with various toppings, and alcoholic milkshakes??! Yes, please. Been here several times and never had a bad meal or issue. Service can be a little slow for what you're getting ("fast food") but it's obvious everything is made in house and fresh, and surprisingly affordable. It's easy to see how Mshack beat out cruisers for best burger.

After going to M shack for the first time for dinner I walked out mostly satisfied. The service was great, they were always refilling our drinks, picking up our trash, and asking if we needed anything. I had the M burger, when I got the burger the bread was somewhat soggy. the meat was good enough to get over that fact that my bread wasn't so good. Overall, it was good and I will most likely return.

In the past I've had some so-so experiences at the MShack at the Town Center but the Elite event at this location really changed my opinion. We were able to try a lot of their burgers and even though I had to duck out earlier, the high level of quality and taste were evident in the items I tried. I recently found myself nearby at lunch time (a rarity) and decided to pop in. It was just before 1pm and while the place certainly wasn't dead, the parking lot wasn't a total zoo. I walked right up to order without waiting and decided on the crab cake burger. I'm not sure if that burger is on the menu at other locations or if I just missed it but it sounded fantastic. I also got my free order of house fries Yelp check in offer and a fountain drink. The girl at the front counter and the man who wiped a table down for me (and later came back by to take my trash) were super friendly. This location has such a great set up with tons of light coming in even on a day that was a little overcast. My food came out after maybe 10 minutes and the sandwich was huge. I ended up taking off the tomato and lettuce because the burger was already so full (the crab cake, tartar sauce, and some fries with seasoning sandwiched right in there). As soon as I took my first bite, I knew I had made a good choice. The crab cake had a ton of flavor, I could see nice chunks of crab meat, corn, and other fixings oozing out). The fries and the breading on the crab cake were a great contrast to the filling and the tarter sauce on the bottom. The order of house fries were good. They were crispy and hot and the perfect serving size. They have amazing toppings for the fries but be prepared to be unable to eat everything or to share if you go that route. My opinion of MShack was definitely been changed (for the better) with my last few experiences. The meal was plenty of food for me and very satisfying. The only negative is that my meal came to about $13 (and the fries were free so that was just for the sandwich and the drink). A little steep for lunch on a regular basis but MShack is a great place for a high quality, high taste meal.

Very meh. Burger was juicy but no flavor. I hear the one at Atlantic Beach is better? Maybe I just didn't order the right burger - not sure I'll be back to find out though.

While I wish the circumstances for our emergency meeting were different, MShack was the perfect place to have it. The places was hoppin' for lunch and we were meeting for a late lunch at that. I don't know if there ever truly is a lull for these guys, but if at all, it didn't happen until almost three o'clock. I checked in for my free house fries (cha-ching!) and glanced at the menu even though I was pretty sure I knew what I wanted. Sunrise Burger all the way for this girl. It just hits all my happy spots: burger, bacon, runny egg yolk. So many reasons to smile on a rather life altering day. I've had a chance to sample several of their burger offerings, so maybe one day I'll actually order something different. Considering the mood I was in when I got there, I couldn't help but be in a better mood when I left. The staff is so cheerful & helpful with all you need during your stay. From Tim to Maggie to April and to everyone in between, they've moved into Riverside and I don't see them going anywhere any time soon.

I'll be honest, my first MShack visit (at another location) wasn't the stuff in which dreams are made. I'll spare you the details here (as I've written a review there too) but after experiencing them again, in Riverside at a Yelp event, my mind was reset and truly blown. I had to come back. So I did. The Riverside location is gorgeous, and a fantastic addition to the area. The layout is much improved from lessons learned at other locations, and is bright, clean and big, with an AMAZING bar and patio that will sure to be a hit on our sunny Florida days. The huge windows open, to provide a great breeze and more bar seating outside too! Since they have opened, every time I drive by and it's been super packed! Here is a tip for the folks that don't necessary want to wait in line... GO TO THE BAR. It's full service there. If you prefer the dining room, bring a tad of patience, as this location is poppin! Or, wait until about 2 pm, when the lunch crowd dies down. Ok, so now to the food. I did have the chance to try most of the burgers, but my favorite as of lately is the sunrise burger. Perfectly cooked medium burger, cheese, bacon, and a sunny side up egg on top. I personally like to add a few dashes of Tabasco, but it's totally delicious on it's own. :) And the truffle fries are just perfect! Another tip: Check in on Yelp and get an order of house fries, for FREE! I'll be back for you another time, kale salad. So, if you are a beer drinker, MShack is keeping it local, with tons of options (and I think 23 taps!) If you prefer the cocktails, well, you are in luck there too! Try a few of the signature crafted ones, as they are fresh and delicious. (I'll come back for you too boozy milkshakes!) I know I'll be back, again and again, as the food is top notch and super fresh... and the perfect place for a bite and a beer.

I recently attended a Yelp event at this location and was blown away by the food. Since they have officially opened, I figured I would grab my "non-mushroom" eating friend with me to try my new favorite burger. OMG! The Portobello Burger blew me away AGAIN! I am in love with this burger. The medium cooked patty is placed on top of a bed of chopped portobello mushrooms, topped with cheddar cheese and a balsamic sauce that is crazy delicious. My friend reluctantly tried it and loved it. He ate 1/2 of the darn thing. No worries, because the truffle parmesan fries and kale salad were still in need of devouring. I could seriously eat pounds of the kale salad, which is a combination of avocado, kale, carrots, apples, nuts, raisins and a super yummy sesame dressing. Unbelievably good. I will definitely be going back (probably tomorrow) to have an adult cocktail. Those milkshakes were calling me back for sure. Ssshhh, you hear that? SHARON, come back for a Maple Bacon Bourbon Milkshake!!!!! LOL! Seriously, check this place out. It's definitely worth the trip.

The first (and last) time I tried MShack was at the Yelp tasting event in January. I've been talking nonstop about it ever since and was finally able to take my husband here for lunch today. He's totally in love with it now. He had the Sunrise Burger, I had the Portobello Truffle Burger, and my daughter tried the Turkey Burger. We were all very pleased and satisfied with our choices. Thanks to Yelp check in, we scored a free order of home fries. Awesomely crisp on the outside and fluffy inside. As a treat, I ordered 3 small milkshakes - peanut butter, Oreo cheesecake, and cookies and cream. They were all delicious and thank goodness I ordered a small because they were VERY filling after eating that burger. The prices here are higher than what I normally pay for a burger, but the quality and taste definitely make it worthwhile. As for the rest of the place, it was very clean and there were multiple people walking around keeping the tables bussed and helping out. The kitchen was packed so the food came out fast, even though they were busy.

I would consider myself a burger connoisseur, so when I saw this place I knew I had to stop. In Miami we have Shake Shack, Jacksonville, MShack. If you've been to Shake Shack you know the menu is very simple and pretty expensive for what you're getting, but still delicious. Let me just say that I would pick up my belongings and move to Jacksonville just to be able to eat here at least twice a week... It's that good. If you don't get the Marshmallow shake, you're doing it wrong. I'm craving it as I write this review. It was perfectly thick (ha) and the perfect size. The straw that came with it is how all straws should be when ordering a shake. On to the burger. I got the sunrise burger and it was excellent. The egg was runny and drippy just how I like it, The beef was juicy and flavorful (cooked medium), and the bacon was crispy. This was basically the perfect burger, and I highly recommend it. Truffle fries: nothing comes between my love for truffle. I often say, "when I die, bury me in truffle fries." You can quote me on that. These weren't the best truffle fries I've ever had, but they weren't the worst, which is why this review is missing a star. I expected more truffle oil and Parmesan cheese. If you see an M Shack on the side of the road, stop what you're doing and go. Just go. You will not be disappointed.

Hubby had the portobello burger and moaned the whole way through. We split an order of taco fries and still couldn't finish it. I had the crab cake burger. Everything was amazingly fresh and scrumptious. Definitely made with love.

Today was my second visit at this location as I wanted to share my previous wonderful experience with a friend. We stood in line and ordered our food than stood in another line to order a cocktail since there is no table bar service. Bye the time I ordered and received my Mojito our food had arrived and was getting cold. The bar maid seemed to be struggling a bit with the Friday crowd. The food was just as good as previously experienced. The hamburger was juicy and the Kale salad was perfect. I would suggest that they start table bar service or let us order everything at one register.

Great atmosphere great beer, amazing shakes but the burgers there are the best. Me, I love their truffle fries, my daughter loves the regular. Did I mention the shakes.....

I tried today to reach the M Shack management to tell them about my experience, good or bad, but there is NO WAY TO DO SO FROM THEIR WEBSITE. None, so I contacted the folks at the Matthew's Restaurant and sent them an email and have not heard from them, but why should they respond to M Shack issues? We ate at the Riverside location and the staff was wonderful, best part of the experience. The ladies at the bar were responsive, funny and extremely helpful on suggestions. Sunrise Burger was good, but I had a couple of sweet potato taters and one of them had a human hair, which ruined my appetite for anything further there. Now I don't make a scene or ask for free food, I just get quiet and try and handle an issue with management later (because they were busy) and I had friends at many of the outside tables, so I did not want to cause a scene or other issue, but I still had hair in my food and it ruined my night. On the good side, the Margaritas, $5 on Tuesday night were awesome. I had the Jalapeno and my wife was able to get the ladies to make a Splenda version without the simple syrup, which was tasty. Great staff, they were busy, but able to work with us on drinks and options. Even gave us water to go, when asked, again, staff was great. Probably will not be going back for a while. Also the Air Conditioning was not working inside or at the bar, although the air blowing on you at the bar was cooler, so that is where we sat for the night. Many other choices and places to go in 5 Points, would love to try the place again and may do so in the fall, see how they do and others experiences. Fix the comments at the website folks!

Delicious gourmet burger! Sunny Side egg on top that oozed over the perfectly cooked burger. Lots of great options but not too many to overwhelm you. I asked the cashier what she liked and it was great. Also got a chocolate shake with peanut butter an it was GREAT. Wish I didn't get full at the end. I went a little later than normal dinner and there was plenty of space. Wouldn't be surprised if it was busy at dinner though.

I had to up the review to a perfect 5 star sweep. I am not a burger lover but that Portabella Burger has converted me. I gotta sing its praises and yell Hallelujah after this meal. Don't even get me started on the milkshakes. It is burger perfection. That is all.

I've heard about this place and I'm happy I've tried their food. I got the truffle portabella burger with smoked Gouda and a strawberry shake. The shake was creamy, thick and bits of strawberry in every sip. The burger was done medium and it was perfect. Not too pink and not too well done. However took a star off for the frigid temperature and that my boyfriend found a long hair in his food. :x

Great burgers and service. Amazing bananas Foster shake. -1 star because table area inside near the bar already smells pretty rank of stale spilled beer. Hopefully cleared up by my next visit!

MShack has been on my belly's radar since I moved to Jacksonville a year ago. For whatever reason I have somehow skipped over it until now and I cursed myself every time I chose something else. With this new location plopping down right by my work, I no longer have the excuse to avoid the num-nums here. So, this week we decided to venture over and have a quick after-work bite to eat. The first thing you'll notice is that the layout is really snazzy. It has an indoor/outdoor vibe and is perfect for a beach city. The decor is classy but downplayed enough that you know it's a casual place. Everyone eating with me picked something a bit different to munch on. I picked the Portobello Truffle Burger (most likely because it sounded like I was eating something important), a Butterfinger milkshake (not a regular menu item) and some Poutine for the table. Others at the table got a Sunrise Burger, Crab Cakes (I don't see them on the menu when I look now but I swear that's what she got), and Asian burger, a variety of milkshakes (the Pecan Pie was the favorite) and a few orders of Truffle Parmesan fries (holy Moses these are great!). My burger was incredibly delicious! It was a bit on the smaller side and I could have eaten more but it was good enough that I can't really complain. I'm dying to try the "Medurable" burger (Foie Gras and Carmelized Onions) but I'm having a hard time justifying the price tag from a casual dining joint. Like I mentioned earlier the Truffle Fries were good enough that I could bathe in them. The Poutine, on the other hand.... well, lets just say I'm Canadian and my disappointment probably came from the fact that no one can do Poutine like Canada. I was super excited to order it because Poutine is impossible to find in the States and most people think I'm saying something dirty when I mention it. And to be honest, if it's done right, it makes me want to get kind of freaky when it hits my pie-hole. When I initially ordered it, the cashier called back my order as "Turkey fries" and when I responded that I ordered the Poutine she gave me a snarky look and said "They're called 'Turkey fries'." Well, if there's one thing I know, it's that Poutine doesn't contain turkey and anyone who thinks it does is... well, a turkey. Besides, their own menu calls them Poutine, not Turkey fries so don't correct me on it! Unfortunately their version of this Canadian delicacy did, in fact, contain turkey which was the downfall of the dish. To be fair, they were good and most people would probably be very happy but I desperately wanted real poutine and I didn't get it. But let's move on. In the end, everything was pretty fantastic. The prices are reasonable and you'll get burgers unlike those you'd find anywhere else. The shakes are drool-inducing (although I was hoping they'd have one of the bacon shakes I'd heard rumors about that pop up from time to time). Will I go back? Certainly. Will I order poutine again. Only in Canada.

GREAT burgers not bad on the price. Just skip the sides get a double it will be enough food for any adult for sure. Best part about the food is that the owners pick the best meats possible and from what ive ready they are organic grass fed cows which to me makes a HUGE difference. You should try this at least one time if you are a burger fan like myself. Enjoy !

I had already been to this location a few weeks ago for an amazing Yelp event (maybe my favorite actually :) ). So I had high expectations for this go round! This restaurant is conveniently lcoated off Margaret St, which is close to Park St where a lot of great local shops are. Love the area. Their is indoor and outdoor seating and the bar is indoor/outdoor which is really cool! The St Johns Town Center location is the same way. Inside has really cool/hip ceiling fixtures and the right wall walking in has bright colored graffiti! Luckily I already knew where the counter was located so I went straight up and placed my order with the lady behind the counter, I wish I had got her name because she was very attentive. Let me preface by saying I don't normally like ground beef, at all, due to the fact that most times they taste over cooked and charred but M Shack has really turned that around with their juicy burgers! I knew I wanted the Sunrise burger based on its incredible awesomeness at my last visit. The Sunrise is a burger cooked to medium (unless you state otherwise) with savory bacon, a special sauce and an egg on top. I also got a free order of fries with my Yelp check in (score!). My compadres ordered a regular cheese burger, truffle parmesan fries and a Crossfit burger with a bun. Fries do not come with burgers, everything is a la carte. After seating the food came out pretty quick and it all looked really good. The Crossfit burger is quite extravagant and large, haha, too much food for me personally. We asked the gentleman who brought our food if we could have some ranch and he said no problem but he didn't come back until after we'd eaten in which we asked for a to go box for the fries and again, he did not return so my friend had to snag someone to retrieve a to go box. They were steady but not super busy so no need to forget the items requested. As ordered, the burgers were all cooked to medium and tasted great! The parmesan truffle fries were very good too. After eating we ordered a Marshmallow Brulee shake and the adult (alcoholic) Maple Bacon Bourbon and Peanut Butter Milkshakes. The Marshmallow came out first and was perfect! Thick coating of Marshmallow and Bruleed coating a top a creamy vanilla/chocolate tasting shake. The other two shakes took a little longer to make because the shakes get made at one area of the restaurant and then get taken to the bar to add the liquor. Both were a tad strong compared to the ones offered at the Yelp event so next time I'll probably just order a regular Peanut Butter and definitely the Marshmallow Brulee! Overall, the experience was a good one and we will definitely be returning ;)

Food is okay. for what you get not worth it. The service was awful too. Don't waste money on a drink because getting a refill on that is almost impossible. No one goes around and ask if you need a refill and when you need one you must go in the long line and cut people off to ask for one. Another thing on the service is how do i get my meal and then have a normal lunch 15-20 mins with talking and finish my meal. Then finally get my appetizers which is just gravy fries. Step it up M Shack. The brothers who founded this place would be disappointed. Go down to the original at the Beaches for the real M Shack.

If you're a burger lover, you HAVE to stop in here. I'm from Los Angeles and always try different burger joints that are local to where ever I travel wfor I was blown away with how fresh the meat tasted. I was informed that they grind their meat daily. I'm guessing that they add special seasoning to it before cooking it. It was so enjoyable as I took each bite. They have specialty burgers. The ones that I had were portobello mushroom burger and foie gras burger. (Descriptions) Portobello mushroom burger: made with American cheese, fresh burger patty, diced up portobellos mushroom patty (placed beneath the burger patty), onions, and lettuce served on potato buns. The portobello mushroom were mixed with olive oil, tomatoes, and some other ingredients that I couldn't quite figure out. The Medurable: made with America cheese, fresh burger patty, caramelized onions, and foie gras served on potato buns. Each bite was so mouth watering and it will make you want more of it! They have fresh steak fries. Crunchy on the outside and soft and moist on the inside. They have different flavors of fries. I'm definitely going to try the truffle fries on my next trip here. They have a separate ordering station for food and alcohol. The bar area is double sided. They can cater to those whom likes to sit outside and bar area. The servers are all phenomenal. They are very friendly from beginning to the end. The restaurant was kept clean at all times. It sure helped made my experience awesome and memorable. This was based on my first visit to MShack, I'm planning to go back before I leave Jacksonville. Be sure to "check in" on Yelp to get your free fries!

I had a wonderful evening at MShack. The food was delicious and fresh. I enjoyed the adult milkshakes that were oh soooo tasty. The only complaint I would say, was that I asked my burger to be well done, however, it was not, I saw a little pink in it, but other than that the food was pretty good. I give it a thumbs up. I will definitely return for especially for the adult milkshakes... mmmmmm :-)

The truffle burger is by far the best burger you may ever put in your mouth, well in my opinion anyway. Topped with smoked Gouda cheese, bacon, and baby portobello mushrooms and drizzled with the most scrumptious truffle oil and sherry glaze, this is my idea of heaven on a bun. The truffle fries are amazing as well. The super kale salad is also the best in town. The apples and pecans with the ginger garlic dressing will have you rethinking the potential of kale for a meal. While the adult milkshakes sound good in theory, I think I have tried them all and have not found one that really works for me (there are some things that bacon actually does not make better). However with a nice selection of beer and wine, this would be my recommendation to compliment your delectable meal at MShack.

A little pricey, but it's worth it. The burgers are large and juicy, and adding bacon to my M burger was super delicious. The veggie burger is also tasty. This location is a little hot indoors, but beautiful.

Mshack is my favorite burger place in Jacksonville. I don't think any other place in Jacksonville that is a casual order at the counter burger place can hold a candle to the quality of the meat they use. My favorite is truffle parmesan fries and Portobello Truffle Burger is out of this world. I always take out of town guests here and go here for lunch often.

This is one of those places that advertises that they have vegan food, but they really don't care. I don't see why you waste people's time and money with serving something so sad.

Ok so great burgers, but you have to try the Kale Salad it is awesome!!!! Real have never had a bad meal, not too impressed with sides, i.e fries either over cooked or under-cooked occasionally. Great environment, quick service and all staff seemed friendly and helpful!

I didn't really care for the food. But customer service is AMAZING!!! Everyone is kind. It is very slow service though. And their milkshakes are the absolute BEST!!!! Their milkshakes compare to no other!

I love the way this place is set up. Go to the counter, order your food, and it gets brought out to you. All the condiments are a bar. Prices aren't bad-on the same level or maybe a little cheaper than 5 guys. Burgers are on point. I just got the basic one and it was really good. They say they cook all the burgers a certain way unless specified... I can't recall what they said.. Like medium well I think? Well next time I go I'm definitely going to ask for it to be cooked a little more. I'm not picky but all the burgers at our table had a pretty high amount of pink in the center. None the less they were still really delicious and I'll def be back again.

I will say that they are now officially opened. I have a habit about when a place opens to be right up there when the doors open. Today I was a little late for that and a few people beat me inside. The place is just the same as I remembered it from Thursday night. It was just lighter out, like day time light. The menu looked good and I knew what I wanted anyway. My favorite burger from thurs. the Sunrise Burger med well. The kitchen was a buss with a ton of people cooking. I ordered and was seated and got to meet David Medura again and he remembered me and thanked me for coming back so soon. Tim an Maggie also stopped by the table to greet me and make sure that everything is going well. It is nice when you have a chef with the reputation that Matt n David have to come and visit with you. My burger I will say was just as good as my selection of burgers we tried Thursday night. A perfect cook again and the egg was also just the way I waned it. Runny, the bacon was soft but cooked another thing that I really like. I got regular fries not being a big fry eater and they were also well prepared. Crispy yet soft inside with just the right amount of salt. I will say that I did enjoy my visit to this M Shack and it will definitely be on my rotation of dining establishments in the 5 points area.

Went here on a whim. Wasn't impressed. It was very crowded and loud. It was almost impossible to get my hands on a menu. When I got up to the register I felt so pressured I just ordered a plain cheese burger and fries. The fries weren't very seasoned and the burger was just "a-okay". The drink station was way too crowded constantly. If i want a burger, I'll stick to Five Guys.

I absolutely love this place...the burgers and variety are awesome always juicy..the milk shakes are off the chain..i love how i can walk up to the outside bar after work and have a drink. I love the atmosphere as well and everyone is always super friendly..love this restaurant!!

Went here for dinner tonight and wasn't extremely impressed. I wished the food matched the great atmosphere. The decor is urban yet rustic with a very inviting appeal. Never having been here before I was surprised that it has a counter where you order your food as opposed to a more formal sit down. I ordered the sausage and peppers sandwich. When it came it looked and smelled delicious. I tried to take a bite and couldn't break the sausage. It was too tough to even rip apart with my hands. I ended up having to grab a fork and eat everything separately which was even more disappointing because all the components would have been better together. Still very delicious. I have awarded 4 stars to this restaurant. The fourth star is deticated solely to the buser who was constantly refilling our drinks (even though the place seems more self serve) and taking trash. He was so friendly and I regret not having asked his name to report in this review. In conclusion, I wish they would do a little more with the food. This place is in a great location and could do better.

Love their bluebell strawberry ice cream milk shake. I could eat their m shack sauce with everything! It's that delicious. I don't think the prices match their portions though. I could have sworn burgers have gone up a buck. Great environment for families.

I'm in love with mshack. Order at the cashier, pick your seat, and food arrives. They have a rockin' kale salad. The Mburger is yummy and of course milkshakes (with or without the booze) all great and decently priced. Oh they also have a full bar and an outdoor area. Not sure how that will turn out with the summer heat, but it's nice in spring and fall (and most of florida winters)

I ended up missing a Yelp event here due to illness, but after reading all of the raving reviews from my fellow Yelpers I just knew I had to try it so we came here to try the wonders of these burgers. After perusing the menu I ended up choosing the portabello mushroom one and it was TO DIE for. It was awesome. Even my hubby who is not a mushroom fan loved it. There is something about that balsamic vinegar on there that is a home run. The atmosphere in there is very unique and we really enjoyed it. The staff and manager were very attentive and we will certainly come again. I have heard that I need to head back for two things: A peanut butter shake and one of the adult beverage shake concoctions. We will be back for sure!

First time visiting any M-Shack restaurant and went to the Riverside location after an event downtown on Thursday 5/22. The event didn't end until 9:30 or so and we still needed to eat dinner so we were looking for something that was open until 11 p.m. so we would't be that customer that walks in at closing and feels rushed. We drove up to M Shack in Riverside and on the door it says the hours are Thursday - Saturday that they are open until 11 p.m., we thought this would be perfect and went inside. When we got to the cashier she informed us we had 3 minutes to place an order as they were closing at 10. We informed her the hours posted say until 11 and her response was "no 10". No "I'm sorry, the hours have changed" or a "don't worry about it enjoy your dinner" etc. Then looking at the menu in the restaurant, the hours ALSO show they are open till 11 p.m. While we were placing our order the employee from the shake area came over and told her that if we wanted shakes we needed to order them now because he was closing it down. We did want to try the shakes but were going to get them after our dinner and to go for the ride back home but apparently we weren't give a choice on this matter. We were asked if they could put the food in a to go container so we could take it with us. We informed her, sure, but we were still going to eat it there as there were other patrons in the restaurant and at the bar already eating. Keep in mind the whole point was that we didn't want to be rushed and thought they were open till 11 per the posted hours. As we were sitting there for about 15 minutes waiting for our food (not sure why it took so long as nobody else ordered any food) but then an employees takes a bag of food to the bar and comes over to us and ask if we were waiting for our order and we informed her yes and she said it was at the bar and to pick it up on the way out. We told her "No" the cashier asked to put it in a to-go container but we were eating it there. (You can't really eat their food in the car and we don't live close to this location) She went and grabbed the bags and gave them to us. The food itself was mediocre but with the experience we already had I'm sure that had something to do with it. At about 10:25, more customers walked in as the front doors were open, lights on, bar windows up, and I'm sure they thought they were open until 11 as the posted hours say and went to the counter and were told they were closed and turned around and left. When we left the restaurant at about 10:30 there was still about 10 people in the restaurant finishing dinner and drinks. We tried to find a way to send the manager/owner an email about this problem however THERE IS NO WAY TO CONTACT THEM so we are left leaving our opinions on a public forum for everyone to see. As a first time patron to any M Shack, this was a completely horrible experience that could have been handled way better with some customer service skills and training to the employees. Some ideas for management would be to update your hours of operation on the door as well as the menu, train your employees on how to talk with customers, and once the restaurant is closed, try locking the front door. There is way too much competition within Jacksonville at "burger joints" to have to deal with this at M Shack.

The line out the door is a great indicator of a really good place to eat! The food is fresh. Many options for your burger! The fries and onion rings are awesome! And don't forget to top off your meal with one of their incredibly yummy and unique shakes! My favorite burger, by far!

Oh em Gee! Lol. This place was packed and for good reason!! Even with a full house the service was amazing and fast. The food was so much more than I wished for!! The Riverside!!! The flavor was amazing!!! It was hands down one of the best burgers I've ever had!

OK,...first,...the new location on Park St. has amazing folks. EXTREMELY great customer service....Burgers are local beef, local butchered, local prepared. Probably the greasiest burger I have ever had,..which in my book makes it yummy. NOT the best burger I have ever had,..but the entire experience DID rank up there with awesome. the SHAKES??? WOW! Wife had the peanut butter and kid had cookies and cream cheesecake (sic). they WERE awesome. The flavor of the beef was great and VERY fresh. The only thing I would suggest is a heartier bun,...maybe slightly bigger and starchy bun,..like a potato roll. The burger cut appears to be a "chuck",..extremely flavorful, but very greasy, especially if farm raised and not "slimmed down cow". Cooked perfectly....my only "beef" is the sandwich falls apart due to fat....need something to soak that FLAVOR up in my opinion.

Price okay. Too minimal. Tiny paper dish and plastic fork and knife. Really? I'm in Riverside and would rather a decent place not on the super-budget. Veggie burger lousy, bun cheap white with no taste. The Asian burger equally underwhelming. Won't come back.

I don't really eat burgers, but when this place opened in the Towncenter, I still had to try it. My first time I opted for the grilled cheese and it was almost burnt, but on my second trip I got the grilled cheese with bacon and it was much better. Both times the people that joined me got burgers and they seemed to enjoy them, I just can't speak from personal experience. I really liked their fries (Queso Cheddar Fries and Truffle Parmesan Fries) and their milkshakes are amazing. I have tried the Marshmallow Brulee and the Pecan Pie. Both are awesome, but the Pecan Pie was by far one of the best milkshakes I have ever had.

My husband and I stopped in today for lunch and there was a small line waiting to order. We ordered two crossfit burgers and an order of taco fries. The burgers were tasty and the fries were amazing. We had more food than we knew what to do with. The Sunday lunch crowd was in full swing, but we got our food pretty quick and the staff was attentive.

Love this place and now that I don't have to drive as far I can frequent it more!! Their burgers and shakes are most definitely better then steak&shake . The average price is about 10 dollars per burger so not bad at all !!

I just get the "M burger" and to me it is perfection. Just the right size, juicy and a little tangy with shack sauce. I make sure there's pickles and cheese and I'm all set to go. I'm not big on super huge burgers that can't fit in my mouth and this one is just right with all the toppings I want. Crispy fries are a must for me and I've always been happy with my order. The shakes are tasty too! I love the marshmallow brulee. Just the right amount of chocolate and a yummy toasted marshmallow on top!

Fantastic! Having not one but *2* vegetarian burger options is unusual for a burger joint - so they will be getting much of my repeat business. Both the veggie burger and tempeh burger were fantastic.

Wish that they would pay more attention to their San Marco roots!!! Which is always closed!! As for Margaret Street, my phone was dead, so no pics. Stale bread, no attention to detail on my hamburger being ordered well done..it was pink & bloody in the middle & running red the boyfriend had oily fries & well... & the server was an airhead! Just an over priced hamburger joint! Going back to the Loop next time!

Nice place, neat, clean. I had the sunrise burger and truffle fries, the food was average, nothing to brag about. I also had the bananas foster shake which was really good. I don't think I'll be visiting too often not so much for the food but for the prices.

The turkey burger is full of flavor and I had it topped with a fried egg and cheddar which made it great. We ordered onion rings and ranch, the onion rings were good, but we were disappointed that we only received 4 onion rings for $3.50 and paid an extra $0.50 for the ranch. It wasn't $1 a ring good.

Yum! The best burger I ever had. I had the Sunrise Burger & it was amazing. It comes with a sunny side up egg on top. I was also extremely impressed by the service I received. It was Fri 3/27/2015 around 11:30 and I sat at the bar. I only ordered the burger & a water so not a big tab but both the man & woman behind the bar provided excellent service. I have never been impressed by service anywhere. Well at least not enough to take the time to comment on it. I will be back for the great food & great service.

We had friends in town and wanted to take them to a good, local spot, for dinner. I have been to this MShack location a few times, but this time makes me question if I will return. We went on a Sunday night at 7:50pm and ordered for four people. 25 minutes later, we still had no food. I went to the front to check on our order and asked a worker to check on the status. I looked at 3 burgers under the heat lamps as she was telling me it would be a little while longer. My husband went back in 10 minutes later and found out those three burgers were part of our order and had been under the heat lamp the entire time. He asked for them to bring those burgers out to begin eating and they stated they were waiting on the "M Burger" to cook. That is the most basic burger, mind you. Eventually we got our entire order, but at a fast food restaurant, you wouldn't think you would have to wait 45 minutes for a burger!

I have been to this location twice. The first time was a great experience but the second time was not as good. On my second visit, I ordered the marinated chicken sandwich and the taste of it was very bland. I swapped it for a cheeseburger and was satisfied with my replacement. I also ordered the queso fries and they are really good! We were there on a Sunday. I don't know if it's the Sunday staff or what but everyone seemed flustered. It was busy, but the servers had a hard time figuring out what table got what food. I will continue to eat here because I do really like MShack's burgers. I just hope the next time I go, my experience is as good as the first time.

Not as enchanted with their burgers as everyone else, but they make an amazing kale salad and the sweet potato tots can't be beat! They have a great beer selection and milk shakes are a delicious treat.

I visited M Shack tonight to support a new business in Riverside. I placed a takeout order for a single M Burger and small strawberry milkshake which came to $9 and some change. Previous Yelpers alerted me that I would receive a free small order of fries for checking in (thanks, Yelp). While waiting for my food I noticed my order taker put my name and coat color on the receipt to help the servers when it came time for them to deliver my food. I received my milkshake within 5 minutes of sitting at the bar. The server came right over to me with the help of the note the order take put in the system. 5 minutes later I noticed a very confused server walking around with a bag of food. Instead of her coming to me, she went around to a bunch of tables asking if they placed a takeout order. Since the order taker told me to wait at the bar for my food, I assumed that all the servers knew to go there first. On top of that since my order had my name and a description of my attire on the receipt I didn't think it would be hard to find me. I finally got my food by asking her who she was looking for since she wasn't making her way over to me and I was tired of waiting. When I got home I found my burger and fries intact in the take out box. The presentation was very appealing and I was excited to try the food. The strawberry milkshake was awesome. It reminded me of the old school McDonald's shakes; very thick and creamy. I even tasted a few strawberry pieces in the drink. Unfortunately, the shake was the best part of my meal. My fries were average with a little too much salt. The burger left something to the imagination. I won't visit M Shake again for burgers or fries. There were a few other items on the menu I would try as long as I include a milkshake since I know those are guaranteed to be good.

First time in and was impressed with the hospitality. Service at the register was friendly. The food was good. I ordered the italian sausage sandwich and fries for 1. When it came out I was surprised at the way it was cooked. I am used to alot of char grill on my sausages, but this was good in the sense it was more gormet style. They told me that they had just opened today. For the first day they did well. My daughter had a burger and my wife had the same as me except onion rings with it everything was enjoyable. Prices were lower then expected. Spent a little over $35.00. Not bad for all that we had, drinks included.

This location recently opened, and were it not for my wife catching a bad cold, we would have been at the CMYE to get a behind the scenes look at the place. Instead, we skipped the CMYE so as not to spread the cooties amongst our fellow yelpers. We were pleased to learn that MShack was coming to the Riverside area as it is close to where we live and where I work. MShack is a small but very clean burger restaurant, but don't think you are only getting a patty thrown between two pieces of bread here. There are so many awesome choices to choose from or even build your own, your way. They even have hot dogs, salads to go along with their shakes and great beer selection. It is a very family friendly place, but I can certainly see where people might come and hang out on their patio that also has direct access to the bartender who is inside the restaurant. You can even sit outside and still be "at the bar". Nice option for those cool spring or fall dining evenings. I was warned that MShack cooks more on the medium rare side, but since I received that warning from a fellow yelper, I was able to order my Sunrise burger to be cooked Medium Well. It came out perfect. I was unsure of the sunny side egg on a burger, so I chose to have it fried instead. Glad I did, as the burger was quite juicy and having a runny egg on top may have had me wearing a drop or two on my shirt. My wife ordered the Mushroom burger and I will be the first to tell you that mushrooms are foul weeds that never belong in someone's belly, but being the trooper I am, I tried a bite of it and was Wowed! at the explosion of flavors. I could not even tell there were mushrooms on it so if you are like me and squeamish about shrooms, I suggest you give it a try. You may also become pleasantly surprised.

Great food but the location that opened in San Marco always seems to be closed. They don't keep the same hours as the other locations and each Sunday we've gone there with no luck. That's the only reason I couldn't give them 5 stars.

Today was my first experience with mshack and I called ahead to place my to go order. I wasn't sure where to pick up my food so I waited in a long line only to be instructed to pick it up from the bar. Maybe that should've been said over the phone when I placed my order...? I ordered a milk shake, onions rings with ranch and a m burger. The milk shake was very good indeed. The burger was pretty good. I have to say that it doesn't hold a candle to the cowboy burger at black sheep though. Although there is a significant difference in price. $15 compared to $5.50. I was hoping for more flavor I suppose. But it was juicy. I was highly disappointed in the onion rings; the batter was completely overwhelming. I expect a nice sized onion lightly battered. This was like eating an onion doughnut! I'm sure I will give this place another try in the future but I'll be sure to leave the onion rings off my order.

Tried this place last Sunday after church because I had seen and heard so many good things about it on Yelp. My first impression was wow this is very trendy. It had great curb appeal and the outside area was very clean and inviting. The design on the inside is very well done. The price is a little more than you would want to pay for a burger and fries but I thought I would try it if the burger was supposed to be so good. I ordered the m burger medium well and the banana foster milkshake with a scoop of peanut butter. The burger was so small and under done and a little mushy in the center. The milk shake was the only upside of my meal. It was very very good. The il only reason I would go back is to get a good milkshake. Other than that I think this place is over rated. I must compliment the service though. All the employees were very nice and helpful. But other than that I can't see myself eating here again.

I love every time I get to eat at mshack. The environment is amazing the employees are very friendl and helpful. I needed help finding a specific wine that I had drank a few days before and I was able to try a good amount of different wines until I eventually found the perfect one. They took time to help me find exactly what I need and that means a lot to me. This place is more than a burger joint it is a very nice chill spot to hang out grab a beer or eat some magnificent food. If you are ever in the area or around an mshack don't hesitate to pull in and get you a basket of loaded fries or a nice mshack burger it will be well worth it, also don't forget to get some wine or a beer to go with you're meal ( if that's what you like ).

My first time at m shack and it was very nice. The service was excellent and food came out pretty fast. I had gotten the sunrise burger and a vanilla milkshake my bacon on the sunrise was a bit salty I had to take them out but aside from that it was great. I will definitely be coming back.

Can't wait to have company visit from out of town so we can take them here for possibly the best burger and fries I have ever had! My woman had the Portabella, bacon & truffle burger w/ gouda. I had the Asian burger w/ hoisen sauce and pepperjack. We shared an order of the Parmesan truffle fries which are phenomenal! We live around the corner so we got our order for take out. After paying in cash w/ a gratuity I was anxious to get back the house so we could dig in. I was walking away at a fast pace when the bar tender called my name and brought it to my attention that I had given her a $20 instead of one of the $1 dollar bills for gratuity. I am so happy to know that there are genuinely honest people in the world. These kind of positive character traits are an excellent representation of M Shack as a quality establishment in both service and product!

Food - pretty good. Service - pretty crappy. Had lunch there today with a coworker. I ordered and then coworker ordered after a couple of other folks. They weren't that busy, many open tables. We settle in and wait for food. Hers comes out, mine doesn't. She's halfway through her meal, I'm still waiting. I go back to the counter to check on mine - and no one seems to be able to find my order at all. I want to be clear the counter folks were really helpful and wonderful, but the line manager couldn't be arsed to even acknowledge there was a problem or even look at me - to the point he actively ignored the employee trying to find my order and it was very clear none of the employees wanted to interact with this manager - almost as if they aren't actually allowed to speak to him. I finally just asked for my money back... and ouila! my missing order appears out of nowhere. We found out the table next us - already sitting when we got there - was STILL waiting for their food. I realize different orders take different amounts of time, but my beef was with the manager who actively ignored me AND the employees. Very much a jerk. Food was good, tho.

I went there for a late lunch. This was the first time I've ever been to an Mshack so I didn't know what to expect. Since there is a bar at the location and there is no clear marking stating how to place an order I sat at a table and waited 15 minutes for a waiter who never arrived. There were workers zipping all over the place so I asked one of them if he could get a waiter for me, he replied that I had to order at the counter. So I ordered an mburger, onion rings and iced tea. This came to $11.80 . I then waited 25 minutes. At that point the original worker (Royce) approached me and asked me how I was doing. I said that I was frustrated having been in there 40 minutes and was at the point of giving up. Just then the food arrived. Not all that and definitely not worth almost $12. In their defense they have just opened so there may be some growing pains. Also their employee Royce was very concerned with my dissatisfaction and tried his best to make things right.

Good burgers. Fast, friendly service. Fresh food. Fries were just okay. Great atmosphere. We loved the open-air bar and patio area. We will definitely be back for milkshakes. This was a great place to stop for a quick lunch on our way to Cocoa Beach. Thanks, Yelp!

Although the food is great, the m shack treats their to go patrons with absolutely no respect. My friends and I ordered to go on a Saturday night. Everyone got their food except for me. As we were waiting, we noticed that someone from the kitchen placed a to go bag on the counter. The employees at the bar acted as if the bag wasn't there, working around the bag instead of looking at the name the bag belonged to. Thinking the food couldn't possibly be mine, we waited another 10 minutes before one of the employees actually looked at the bag and called out my name. My cheese fries were revolting when I got home, as the cheese had congealed. I will still go to m shack but i will never get to go again

Burgers

Burger or Hamburger is savored as the most desired fast food meal in the United States. A hamburger is basically a sandwich prepared by stuffing ground meat patty, generally beef, between two slices of a bun cut in half. Hamburger is also famous for its seasoning.
