My husband and I have been looking for a good BBQ spot since we've been stationed in Jacksonville with no luck....until tonight! Jerome Brown's BBQ is the business! We had ribs, pulled pork sandwiches, wings and coleslaw. This is what we've been looking for! Great food and good prices! We definitely will be making this a once a week meal!

I tried this place for the first time due to having a free snack for voting. The establishment is a drive up or walk up kinda restaurant stand. Just quick and to the point. The ribs were meaty and tender however, I don't really like the mustard based BBQ sauce that they use. Yes its unique and I'm game for trying some things once. The fries were crispy. I would try the BBQ chicken next time I go but ask if they have a tomato based BBQ sauce or just get it plain with no sauce. Due to the circumstances I can't really rate the customer service because they had s line out this world and it was like very fast paced however they we're courteous. I like BBQ and I am willing to give this place another chance but this time I will be a consumer purchasing the meal.

Just came for a bbq salad but was told they don't have the ingredients. Upon further inquiry was told the tomatoes & such are frozen which tells me their salads are not fresh. Hmm?! But the major components of a bbq salad shouldn't be frozen. Certain businesses. .I swear! Smh!

I was in the area hungry and saw a run down BBQ joint so I knew I had to try it. First off this place is drive through only which one window if order and the other is pick up. Well besides indicating that for the people that have not eaten here before they have that right. Wait was a while so thank goodness for Netflix while waiting. I ordered the pulled pork combo$6.99 and also a sausage dog $3.49.. Oh yeah that's right I did not post a picture of the sausage dog because they forgot to put that in my bag! I understand I should of checked but it was not that busy for them to mess up an order. Oh well it is what it is. Pork sandwich was okay. Had a lot of meat on it and was decent tasting. Cole slaw was bad and sour I don't think cole slaw is suppose to be sour and fries... Well it's fries. I wonder was the sausage dog tasted like. The sweet tea was beyond sweet how is that even possible? Well it tasted like they has more sugar than liquid in that cup. There's many more BBQ places closer to where I live so big pass on this place.

This place has seen better days. My wife recently purchased 2 rib sandwich's from this joint and they were lousy. They par-boil their meat before cookng and they use cheat cuts. If you must have a slab of ribs or a sandwich there is a guy over in Riverside on Saturdays near the corner of Riverside and Stockton he sells the best ribs in all of Jax out of his food truck. Jerome Brown's is a low in greasy spoon that sells serves sub-standard meat. If you value your health and stomach stay away from Jerome Brown.

Jerome brown is a very good barbecue place my family and I go there a lot we always order their Cajun ranch tenders with double curly fries I love love love them. They are reasonable but I'm not going to lie the waiting experience is crap you will be in line for at least 30 minutes because they cook to order you will go to the first window and that's where you will place your order at then you will pay that's how they get you so if you did want to leave you can't but other then that the staff are very nice they have the best crab cakes for the seafood lovers and the best fruit punch and lemonade the ribs are nice and meaty and tender the meat falls right off the bone they are drenched with sauce this place is worth the wait and at the end of day you will leave there satisfied a chicken tender meal is between 7-8 dollars your food will always be nice and hot but if I was you I would call ahead of time sometime you can call and the phone rings constantly no answer but if they don't answer that means they are extremely busy

While visiting my Jacksonville relatives, they served barbecued chicken with extra sauce on the side. "Jenkins?", I said, sopping up the sauce like it was my last meal. "No, honey, it's Jerome Brown's." Needless to say, I had to go to this place my relatives swore was better than Jenkins. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich lunch special. That first bite did it for me. Mustard bbq sauce?!! How many rib joints outside of South Carolina do that? The pork was tender and moist with some of the crunchy edges thrown in. Eating in the car never felt so good. My mouth was in mustard-loving heaven. Great for dipping the fries, too. For under $7, this was an orgasmic bargain.

let me start off by saying i LOVE hole the wall joints that a small and dingy and maybe even a little grimey. i can accept any amount of nastiness as long as the food is good. but there were SO many things wrong with jeromes. 1. SLOW service. i understand that there are only two of you working. one person taking orders and also putting them together and one person preparing the food. but maybe if you werent on the phone the whole time, you could focus on your customers more. from the time i ordered to the time i got my food, it took about 30 mins! 2. by preparing food, i mean MICROWAVING. yea ... can you believe it? i was waiting and i look over, and there is the "chef" ...errr... owner.... or whatever you want to call him, putting food in the microwave. 3. i would accept the microwave if they food was decent. but it was horrible. i was forced to eat it because i was so hungry i wanted to eat my fingers i ordered rib sandwich and shrimp fried rice. ribs were soooo tough on the outside that it was almost like jerky. it didnt fall off the bone at all. the best part of this sandwich was the plain white bread that was soaked in sauce. the shrimp fried rice was even more disgusting. they should honestly just take it off the menu. it was apparent that they made it i have no idea how long ago, and just froze it. then microwaved it and served it to me. freakin nasty. its not even fresh shrimp. its the frozen little ones that you can buy at any grocery store. and because it was "cooked" then frozen and then microwaved it had the most rubbery texture ever. i wanted to barf. i ate one shrimp and pulled the rest out. but i couldnt even eat the rice because it just tasted old. i have never been so disgusted eating what they want to call bbq in my life before. waste of money. waste of time. dont go here. i'm expecting to get sick or food poisoning - thats how nasty it was. i honestly gagged a couple times. i shudder thinking about what i just put in my body. i would give this negative stars if i could. DO NOT GO HERE. WORST BBQ EVER.

Be aware this place is a drive thru only. They have the best sauce for their BBQ that I found in the Jacksonville area. I ordered the "Rib Sandwich" which was 4 huge ribs thrown onto 4 pieces of bread $8.61 I will recommend this place for someone who wants to take some food home and eat and that's about it. I didn't try anything other than the rib sandwich but it was good!

Drive-thru bbq that is worth the trip north for. They used to have a location in Springfield which closed inexplicably which is a shame considering this is the best in town. The ribs are larger and juicier than Jenkins, the sauce isn't watery like Fred Cotton's. In fact their sauce is nothing short of amazing. Prices are more than reasonable, the rib sandwich will leave you stuffed!
