Very large menu and even larger portions. The 2 item special will guarantee to fill you up no matter what options you choose. They make the food to order so be prepared to wait but It is again well worth it, they also provide large quantities of food such as 50-100 pieces of chicken or fish.

I've been looking for a fried chicken and more place since I've arrived in Jax. I think I have found it. We had a taste for fried chicken and we finally made it to this place. Place and order for 20 wings.. our wait wasn't long (maybe 10 mins) we got our wings and asked for more Lemon Pepper seasoning (we like a lot of seasoning ) and we were accommodated. The wings were good and juicy and the fries almost perfect. (I don't like hard fries) The service and timing were good. Definitely going back.

I'm taking one star away for location and the other because of the sloooooooow drive-thru..... The food is pretty good... They have a variety of options, but my favorite has to be the chicken wings... The wings have the perfect amount of seasoning... The fries are nothing special, just plain old crinkle fries, but they're still very tasty. As I've already said the drive-thru is super slow. Inside the service isn't much better since I've seen the drive-thru cashier also works the inside counter. The staff here is friendly. I haven't encountered any issues with my order, but that isn't surprising considering I typically order wings and fries-- not complicated! It's definitely worth a visit here.

Would rate it 3.5. Been here a # of times & find it pretty good. Have only had chicken, tenders & shrimp. .. maybe a sandwich once. Good for the quantity & price & Ok for service & consistent quality & taste. Today I ordered chik tenders for the 1st time. They are huge, juicy & flavorful. There was an issue with my tic so my order sat on the counter for who knows how long. I came back up & was immediately serviced but being that I was the only customer sitting & waiting it wasn't rocket science to figure out the order was mine. Duh! Anyway the staff was friendly & usually are. Service is often slow but they strive to serve food hot.

Had freshly fried chicken and shrimp. Very good and was still hot when I got back to St. Augustine. The inside was not clean and I'm sure that had something to do with them being super busy. Some guy was at the front antagonizing the cashier which made her attitude with us less than nice Lol. They should invest in a proper way to dispose of old oil because I'm pretty sure the outside smelled of ages old used oil. Yuck. Would eat there again if in the area.

When I first eat here in 2012 the fish and chicken were excellent. However over the last couple years it has gone down in quality and I just had yesterday and today....I would never go there ever again. It was awful fried food with no Kind of seasoning what so ever.... the pits....awful ....never again .....done dada... Done

HORRIBLE! $20= 3 pieces of mediocre fried fish, order of soggy fries and onion rings, 4 table spoons of coleslaw. First and only time spending my money there

FIVE STARS! Truly a top quality, great tasting, cheap prices, fast food restaurant that has earned one of my 5 stars. Usually I wait and go back several times before I give such a high rating, but Sunday's lunch could not have been any better as far as quality of food and price are concerned. I ordered the 30 piece shrimp dinner; shrimp, drink, fries & cole slaw = $9.99. Simply perfect batter and no oily taste to the shrimp. My shrimp were enjoyed by everyone. My mother and daughter both got one of the $5.99 lunch specials (one had 5 chicken tenders and one had 3 piece whiting) both were cooked very good. Both came with 2 sides and drink. The size of the fish fillets were huge and I have never seen chicken tenders so huge and juicy and too hot to touch when she first opened her box. My son's chicken sandwich was also big and had all the trimmings & fries = $5.99. We had three boxes of take home 'leftovers' full of fries, chicken and fish. Choices of drinks, AYCD (Coke brands, sweet & unsweet tea, lemonade, water). Only negative was the lack of condiments (only one per dinner) and I could have used a second coctail & tartar sauce, especially since everyone was dipping my shrimp into my small cup! :) This restaurant is insde an old McDonald's restaurant on North Main Street. We did not have room to even try one of their good looking desserts --- but maybe one day I will try the coconut cream or orange / lime, or pistachio or red velvet or german chocolate cakes, and the pies looked awesome too! I just might have to stop by after work today! Oh, the comments about location -- if I thought there was any issue with it, I would not have taken my family. True this area is currently in a down cycle, but with this good restaurant, it may have a shot at regrowth. I have lived in the area for 50 years and know that most of the kids grew up and moved away to the south end of town, or out of town. The staff was friendly, and professional, except one girl at the counter --- a little bit of a snobby attitude. Nothing fancy, just good food. And, the comment about greasy food -- nothing in our orders Sunday were that way at all.

The food was good, wasn't spicy enough for me but was good I had the Catfish nuggets with Fries. The drive thru and walk-in was busy but this was due to the FL versus GA game. The area isn't as bad as some make it out to be, but I can see and respect their point.

Okay.....lets assume your arteries can take the abuse....if they can....this is the place for you.....I recommend the pound of fried chicken gizzards with the french fries, butter bread, coleslaw, and a large sweet tea. They have lunch specials that end at 2 PM so get there early. Every bit of food I have had from here was awesome....it killed my stomach but was awesome in flavor, crunch, ect.. And they can make some killer sweet tea!

This little hidden gem of a restaurant makes excellent fried chicken wings at a very affordable price. You could easily feed a family of 4 for $20! The downside to this restaurant? It's in a part of town that is not so great (and that's putting it nicely). Minus one star for location. This is why I recommend you go through the drive-thru and take your food home. It's also the reason I marked it as not good for groups or kids. I would not recommend eating inside because of the location.

My barber told me about Hip-hop and he said their food is good, but will tear up your stomach. So being the person I am I figured why not give them a try. I will tell you this their food is good, but it did more than tear up my stomach.I felt like I was about to have a heart attack, die while on the toilet, and throw up all at the same time. They literally drench your chicken, gizzards, fries etc in regular salt PLUS seasoning salt. Then they use the same grease to fry ALL their food in. No wonder why my chicken was tasting like gizzards, but oh well.

It's classic corner store food. If you're looking for words like decadence and bouquet, stop it. Just stop it. It's fried hard the way "hood food" is supposed to be. They fry it, it being chicken, fish, shrimp, and whatever else, in the same grease. If not, it damn sure taste like it. Add some salt, pepper, ketchup, hot sauce, and you are set. A cold drink, warm fart, and a nap later, you'll remember why it only cost about $10 for your order. If your girl appreciates a good cheap date, she'll love you. If your girl is one of those bourgie, private school attending, multi-degreed, brain over booty, pinky in the air types, and you bring her here, you never really liked her anyway, now did you?

I'd been hearing so many great things about this place for so long, I just had to try it the last time I was in the mood for some bird when down in Jacksonville. It wasn't all that hard to find, it being housed in an ex-McDonalds. Wasn't any mistaking the place. The menu is expansive for a joint that solely deals in fried stuff. The combinations one can make are virtually inexhaustible. I wanted both chicken AND seafood so I opted for the Fish & Chicken Combo. You can choose (almost as I later discovered) any chicken and any fish and it comes with fries, slaw and a refillable drink. What I couldn't understand however was I wanted thighs and the ONLY chicken part you cannot get with the combo is exactly what I wanted - thighs! They sell thighs. Why the heck no thighs with the combo? The bored-seeming counter girl talked me into legs instead, which I paired with grouper. At least they told me it was grouper. I've eaten my fair share of grouper in my lifetime and I'm positive they slipped me a piece of flounder in its place. Sigh. As for the food, the slaw was crappy, the chicken was alright, the fish decent and the fries were incredible. Some of the best fries I've had lately! They're kind of like the fries at Checkers but are much crispier and more perfectly spiced. I wasted three cups of ketchup because I didn't dare dip up even a drop of it with these delicious spud-sticks. The slaw was soupy-slimy and cloyingly sweet; nothing to get psyched over, really. The fish, even though it wasn't the variety I ordered, was fried well enough - not overcooked, which was nice. The breading was weird though. It was kind of like a crispy armor coating on the fillet and it would crumble off in huge plates when bitten or forked into. The chicken had the same coating on it but the meat was tough, cheap grade and overcooked. Very chewy! The breading wasn't burned though. How'd they do that?! What REALLY ruined it though, was the bird was absolutely DOUSED with fine powdered salt! I first thought it was powdered sugar (à la chicken & waffles) when they gave it to me and I thought, "Oh no, what did they do?!" When I bit in though, my pucker reflex indicated salt. And LOTS of salt (see picture). Hell, fried chicken's salty enough, why do they feel the need to salt it even further??? Shouldn't that be up to you? Hence the bottomless drink, I guess. It was, as my three star rating indicates, just "okay". I doubt I'd return. Maybe I would if craving fried stuff and in the vicinity but it's definitely not a place I'd travel out of my way for as I did on this visit.

Ehhh Hip Hop is OK at best, I think I was expecting more going in. The chicken wasn't seasoned to my liking an I didn't appreciate my french fries on top of my chicken, by the time I got home they were soggy. This place is kind of out of my area, definitely wouldn't drive out of my way to go here.
