My first time at Golden Corral, and it is pretty good for what it is (chain restaurant - one step above fast food - with healthy choices). While it is not five star dining, the food was fresh, presented in a clean environment and there was lots of variety. The waitstaff was pleasant. checked in on us regularly and kept our beverages full. As a child, my parents would bring us to Old Country Buffet (a chain up north), and I have fond memories of the vastness of desserts. So I thought to bring my own children here and was not disappointed -- the dessert bar had fresh fruits, small sliced cakes (carrot, chocolate ...) and a variety of ice cream and toppings. Good place to go with something for everyone. Better items: salad bar, fried chicken. roasted chicken, fried fish. Okay items: steak (a little too salty and ask it rare if you want it medium rare, or medium rare if you want it medium). The broiled fish needs work -- sits on the buffet too long and gets dry. Good value and meal overall.

Went here for Father's Day. The service was good and the food was hot. I wish the buffet itself was a little bigger, but overall the food was good.

First time at this Golden Corral. Now every time I go in to one of these places, I say never again... For multiple reasons, not all of which relate to the business itself. It is very hard not to eat too much, but in this one I did not. Golden Corral is what it is. Its the feeding trough for the masses. This particular one is not as nasty of a clientele as the one on Normandy on the Westside, but you still get what you get. As far as the food, its ok. Not as nice as most of them. This particular one, we visited at about 7:30 pm, was perhaps 1/3 full. The food looked old. There were many empty food containers were they should be filling them up and did not. Not sure that this has anything to do with the "manager" being about 17 years old, but clearly she was not in control of the place. Many employees on staff, many milling around, lots of texting going on, but not a lot of working going on. I had to pull her aside and tell her that she can do better then that and actually point out all the empty food bins. I should not have to do that. She looked irritated that I called her out on it and I did it very nicely and gently since she was so young. This place has some potential to do better but unless they get management who actually cares enough to stop THEIR texting and socializing and keep the employes in line, its not going to happen. In fact, as I recall, there was a guy asking the grill cook for ribs. The grill guy says "yeah, I know we show it on the picture out front and we are supposed to have it but we don't carry them". Hello? Why advertise something you don't have? That sure seems like bait and switch. Too bad because a good one can really be pretty good, despite the innate nature of the buffet phenomenon.

Today I had a good meal at this Golden Corral on San Jose Blvd. Brelina was our hostess. She's originally from the Ukraine. The Buffet Bar was different. I haven't been to GC in some time. I actually stopped going there 2 years ago after a bad experience. They were actually serving breakfast after 7pm, seafood and steaks along with their regular dinner lineup. The price is decent $11.99 per person. The salad bar was fresh and being refilled as we sat and ate dinner. Yet it was slow for a Sunday night but it was 95 degrees outside. People tend to eat later. If you're in the west side of 295 stop by Golden Corral and check out the delicious Buffet.

Service was great. Ashley our waitress is very nice and has taken care of us very well. Highly recommend her. Food was ok As usual. The grits too pasty i could hlue a paper mache figurine. The rest is good made fresh. Bread pudding is good started a little dry i loojed at the lady behind the counter and she change the tray for a new bread pudding. We both laughed. My whole family enjoys eating together at this place

Service decent at best. Very slow crowd no excuse for that. Food cold fish, chicken etc. and the pineapple chunks were sour. Just bad overall. Did inform manager which he corrected. Haven't eaten here in years thought I would try again still no change.

I'm not exactly sure what people expect from a chain restaurant but they met all my expectations of palatable food and mediocre service. I continue to come here because my family insists on coming here which is fine because we all have our few favorites on the buffet. The banana pudding is one of my absolute favorites and when the chocolate chip cookies are fresh, they are darn good delicious. I have to say that the steak is always terrible. Always over done. If you want medium ask for medium rare and so on. The rest of the buffet is pretty decent. The salad bar when stocked fresh is a pretty good go to but you can't really mess up lettuce and toppings. You can pretty much put whatever you want on it. The rest of the buffet is a variety of fried food and some steamed veggies. They also had a new Mac and cheese bar which is okay in my opinion. My husband loved the Cheetos Mac and cheese but I was none to impressed. Im sure I'll be back as this place seems to be a family go to when we can't decide where to go and don't want to spend a crazy amount of money for 10 plus people to go.

Lunch today was another buffet but today was more traditional as we went to Golden Corral. Now the GC on San Jose is always clean, the service is pretty ok and the atmosphere is simple. However, I recommend sitting on the left side of the restaurant, otherwise you end up having to smell kitchen mats during your entire meal and that can be an appetite killer. Other than that small little issue everything in the San Jose GC is pretty dang good!

You get what you pay for, the fried chicken was bland, the roast beef was over salty, and I love salt. The cantaloupe was old. I loved the seafood salad and asparagus. I have to come here once a year for friends birthday, he believes in quantity not quality.

When I was young, my parents told me that you could tell if a restaurant was good if there were a lot of trucks in the parking lot, because "truck drivers like good food". Heck, everyone likes good food. If you look at the physical stature of the average truck driver though, it's obvious that a truck driver values "portions and price" over "quality". Truck drivers would love this place. The restaurant was clean, busy - but not crowded, and not noisy at all. That's a good start. The food was not very tasty - either bland, salty, or fried. Totally unremarkable. Sonya, my server, was a sourpuss, and looked as if she wanted to be somewhere else. That made two of us. I should have spent my $10 elsewhere.

This will be the 9-10 time we've been here. One of my customers, Demetrics, works here and always makes sure we are taken care of. Food and atmosphere is very consistent here. 3.5 out of 5 in just about all categories. I will say I saw the manager show his ass, calling a customer a liar and a thief in front of all the customers over, literally 3 tablespoons of food in a go plate. Very low class and unprofessional. With that being said it appears the team here does a good job in-spite of that jerk.
