Thought this Fuji Sushi was a different Fuji Sushi and was initially disappointed. Now after experiencing both, I'd only go back to this one. The sushi was excellent and well priced. We were able to get a variety of rolls and soup and not spend a ridiculous amount for lunch. The most important part to me was that it was very clean and did not make us sick, unlike the other Fuji Sushi. I'd highly recommend, and say the drive from the beaches is totally worth it.

The best sushi in JAX! Been there several times and have never been disappointed. Owners, Neil and Kim, are wonderful. Always make us feel like we are eating at home. We will as always come here when we want sushi!!

Took my daughter to Youth service at Celebration.... Traffic was horrible and didn't wanna go home to fight traffic so I said I'll just grab dinner... Looked on yelp and saw Fuji Sushi 4 Stars so said lets give it a go !!! So glad a did. Hidden inside Publix strip Mall it's very tiny but very very good !!! Sat at the Sushi bar, staff and owner extremely friendly and great service !!! Very good crowd but food came out very surprisingly swift ... I got the Baymeadows Roll, Spicy Shrimp roll, tuna Sashimi, smoked Salmon sashimi... Everything was on point... Fresh.... Tasty, and just plain Dadgum good !!!! Will certainly be back and you should try it to!!!!

Had the sashimi lunch. Beautifully presented in a bowl. The server was friendly but busy. It was good; however, parts of the fish were a little icy. Never had that issue before. Also, I prefer sushi rice to be served with my sashimi but to be honest, I didn't specify and neither did the menu. The rice was warm, mid grade quality. All in all it was acceptable. The miso was hot and the broth was tasty with squares of tofu and firm seaweed (just like I like it). Sashimi is a simplest of sushi so it is hard to rave about it. Good presentation and fresh is all you can really ask for. I would return (especially with the groupon--but you can't use it for lunch specials) and try the specialty rolls. The special rolls to me is what sets sushi restaurants apart. Looking forward to eating my second impression.

I was looking for a filling but not too heavy work day lunch and I found it. The place is small but clean and nice looking. Both the waitress and the man making the food were very friendly. I ordered the sashimi lunch (10 pieces of sashimi, white rice, and a choice of miso soup or salad). Miso soup isn't my favorite but I love soup so I went with it. Very tasty and piping hot. The sashimi came out quickly and was presented very nicely (I was too hungry for a picture but I wish I'd taken one!). I usually stick to ordering salmon and tuna so I knew those were on the plate but to be honest, I'm not not sure exactly what else I ate. lol It was all very tasty. The size of the little bowl of rice was nice, enough to fill me up but not to put me to sleep when I got back to the office. A nice little place for a quick, fresh bite of sushi. I'll be back!

We've lived here for a decade and today was the first day we've gone to Fuji Sushi. I feel like we've missed out on years of this amazing sushi! It was SO good! We all loved it! Our 3 kids even loved it all. We will definitely be back!

I love this restaurant. The new owners changed up the menu, adding many flavors of ramen, all of which are reasonably priced. The food is absolutely delicious. The ramen is very comforting. I get the spicy chicken ramen (a whole fillet of chicken katsu comes with it, sliced) with 2 fried eggs. Breaking the yolk and mixing it with broth gives an amazingly rich flavor. Next up on my list of favorites is the Tuna Tataki, which is an appetizer featuring seared tuna, julienned cucumber and seaweed salad. The tuna and cucumber are seasoned with a ponzu sauce that has hints of sesame. This dish is both beautiful and delicious. In addition to amazing food there is an amazing atmosphere. Even above the food the reason I keep returning is that I am remembered. Not just my face, but my name, my interests and my quirky food and beverage preferences. After 2nd visit I realized this and Fuji Sushi quickly became a place I needed sustenance from at least once a week. I have brought numerous friends with me, who all end up remembered as well and they too have become avid fans. I hope you get the chance to experience their fabulous food and hospitality.

We had the King roll, Sakura roll, and pork dumplings. Everything on the menu is Japanese and what we ordered was delicious. We would definitely recommend it.

Nothing super fabulous about Fuji, but nothing wrong with it either. Met a friend for lunch one afternoon. Place was relatively empty & we were seated quickly. Food was served quickly which is always nice, especially when you have to head back to work. I know I ordered a spicy tuna roll with avocado, but I don't remember which second roll I went with. They ware both quite good, but obviously not memorable.

Terrible customer service and liars. I checked online and the restaurant hours said they close at 11pm on Saturday evenings. I got to the parking lot at 9:30pm and decide to call because from the outside, it looked dark. The lady on the phone told me they close at 10:30pm. Great! I'm just in time...I walked in immediately. I screamed hello because no one was at the front...she finally peaks her head out and tells me that they are closed. I then told her that I JUST called and she told me 10:30pm. She caught an attitude immediately. I will not be back.

We went here because we bought the groupon and I probably won't be back. it didn't seem very fresh. Very slow service, even for a sushi restaurant. My recommendation is save your money for Crazy Sushi (southside) it is much higher quality.

Great sushi. Great presentation. Great service. I tried the rainbow roll and their version of the volcano roll. Both were awesome and the seaweed salad (as simple as it is) was one of the best I've had. Definitely a great little sushi spot!

Moved from Avondale and was looking for a new sushi spot. Not impressed. I got the chicken hibachi which was flavorless and not good at all. My boyfriend got a couple of their specialty rolls, he said they weren't bad but nothing special. Will not return.

Went a few times and wasn't too impressed. The fish was not fresh and sushi wasn't anything special. The "management" informed me it wold be no problem to deliver to my apartment (idk something about delivery sushi appealed to me). After ordering the delivery service twice (successfully over an hour wait), they refused to deliver the third time because it was too far and stated they do not deliver to my Zipcode (i live in 32246 - alittle under 4 miles from the restaurant). In addition, there is only one person working there. One person to seat you, get you water, and make your sushi, and most likely do the deliveries as well. Good luck, maybe youll get them on a good day.

As a striving optimist it pains me to write a bad review...but as you soon will find out there are rainbows even in thunderstorms. What makes this review not 6 stars is how long it took for my take out order. A very friendly and congenial young lady took my order and replied 20 to 25 min. I was with my kids so I arrived closer to 25 unfortunately this wasn't long enough. The poor sushi chef was left to defend the fort all by himself. There were 4 dine in tables and two carry out orders he was drowning...he worked frantically yet precisely but time pressed on, 30 min later my food arrived a mere 55 min after ordering. My pet peeve is punctuality and Fuji Failed me; that being said they almost redeemed themselves with the food. I've searched out sushi in Jax using the yelp army and everywhere disappointed. This place hands down best sushi I've had in Jax for rolls. I don't eat sashimi and nigiri so not true aficionado but I represent the lay sushi masses. This place rocks just wish had enough help...

Fuji Sushi is one of the better sushi restaurants in Jacksonville. My husband and I usually share an order of mini chirashi (shasimi over sushi rice with ginger and tamago) or Katsu Don (pork cutlets, eggs and onion over rice) and a few rolls and walk out satisfied without breaking the bank. Their rice bowls have generous portions, and the sushi is pretty good. I especially think their house roll (tuna, salmon, yellowtail) is a great deal for the amount of fish and the price. I am a little surprised that one of the few reviews for this place commented that the price is high since the biggest reasons why I go to Fuji Sushi is because they are so reasonably priced for good sushi. I am a fan of this restaurant because of the value you get for the amount you spent. It's not the best sushi I've ever had, but for a quick sushi craving fix, Fuji does the job and then some.

Loved the place! I came here for lunch on New Year's Eve Day because I was going to a nearby spa afterwards and was very impressed. I ordered Paris roll and it was exceptional! What I really like is that they have a menu of raw rolls and one side and cooked on the other. I like raw only so it was very easy to find something I wanted. In most places it's such a struggle to battle through all the deep fried Americanized tempura and whatever stuff to find proper raw fish sushi. I'd definitely come back. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is that it looks more like a lunch place and less like dinner. But it's very clean and fresh and inviting. Well done!

This place is Money!!! If I had a layover at JAX I'd cab it over here and get lunch. Now I've been stuck in the midwest for lil bit the past couple of years, and good sushi is not easy to come by, but this place might have the best sushi I've ever had. My mouth just started watering just thinking about the salmon sashimi...I can't wait for my next work trip out there. I won't lie though...it was a little pricey. I think I had 2-3 rolls...some edamame, salmon sashimi and a beer and it was up around $65

I must say that the place is very clean and nice. There is seating areas available for mostly smaller groups but there is one area for a large group. The decor and atmosphere is nice. This place is between Publix and at the moment an empty restaurant, which use to be Sweet Indulgence. There is ample parking. When going to a sushi place, I always order the sashimi to gauge how good their sushi is. We went on a Saturday for lunch, so we figure the fish should be fresh enough. The sashimi lunch was average size, with 14 pieces? of course they count the egg and imitation crab which technically doesn't count as "fish" so shouldn't be counted but oh well. We also ordered an avocado salad. I must say that the salad was very very disappointing. No creativeness and way too much dressing. It was slices of avocado laying over sesame drenched field greens, sprinkled with sesame seeds on top. Overall the price was average. $10.25 for sashimi lunch and $4.25 for the salad. The dinner rolls looked promising and they have pictures of their creations next to the tables on the wall. The place was average, the fish was average, the presentation was average, the price was average and the quantity was average. So thats why I have an average rating. Hopefully our next visit for dinner will show more promising ratings. Until next time......

A little concerned when we arrived prime time on a Friday night with only 4 other diners present. Nice decor and soothing asian music.Very clean. Creative roll menu but only one choice for cold sake. Complementary salad with a creamy ginger dressing and we were off to a good start. Sampled four different rolls. 3 out of 4 rolls were delicious. The 4th had a very artificial smokey taste that dominated. Friendly staff. Not the best sushi I have ever tasted but solid nonetheless. Reasonably priced.

As an avid lover of Sushi - I eat 3-4 times a week - I usually eat at the Sushi House, but Fuji Sushi - in the Publix shopping area (Baymeadows & 9-A) is now my favorite. Huge menu, great selection and I have never been disappointed. Been going since January and all but once they have given me a free appetizer for some reason. I have been for lunch and dinner and it is never crowded. Wide variety of rolls and prices are good.

I have been here a couple of times and also received a free appetizer. I assume they give you something free because the prices are so freaking high. The fish is fresh and portions are okay, I prefer Crazy Sushi.

Good was alright, got the sashimi lunch and wasn't special or even the real good sashimi. The real problem I had was I tried to use a groupon, but she said it wasn't valid because it doesn't work during lunch. The groupon didn't say anything about not being valid other then happy hour. A good server would have taken it and called groupon out. It was obvious it wasn't the first time. I won't be back, even to use my groupon.

I had a FANTASTIC meal here yesterday! It was a rainy & COLD day and I needed/wanted warm food. First, I was given a very warm welcome. Then I had hot tea and a vegetarian tempura udon soup - YUMMY!!! :)

  • Kristen D.

My husband and I went yesterday for lunch. I haven't been here in a good year and was pleasantly surprised. I had the 3 roll lunch special. Th e fish was fresh and delicious. My husband had the shrimp tempura lunch. He doesn't normally come out with me for sushi because he hadn't ever found anything he cares for ( he doesn't like sushi and usually orders a lunch entree). He was really happy said anytime I wanted sushi he would prefer to go there as his lunch was delicious and perfectly portioned.

This is totally separate from the Fuji Sushi in San Marco. We were at first the only diners at lunch time. For the AYCE sushi, we were allowed two rolls at a time. After our two rolls, a couple of customers came in and the one waitress walked by our table literally ten times but would not take our next order. The sushi quality was pretty good, but the value was reduced by a dodgy waitress and higher prices (12.99 for AYCE) and lack of the special rolls on the AYCE menu.

Right before I moved away from JAX, the owners had sold the restaurant. My review is for the old management. Fuji is by far my favorite sushi spot in Jax. It's a quiet little spot and usually not crowded. If you're into rolls then I highly recommend some of their specialty rolls, like the Love Story and Lobster Roll.

Fuji Sushi at Baymeadows is by far one the best restaurants in Jacksonville. I dine there at least once a week. The food is amazing and the service is always excellent. I recommend Fuji to anyone who enjoys sushi. You will not be disappointed!

This place is the best sushi in Jacksonville. The owner personally only picks the BEST fish. He prepares it with an eyes towards the aesthetic and the freshest taste. The friendliness of the staff is only bested by the amazing taste of the food. Bring someone here that doesn't like sushi and they will leave planning out coming back for their birthday dinner. Leo is the chef here. He is a sushi master. If you want a treat just ask him to make the chefs selection. Best sushi in Jax I guarantee it.

  • Eric G.

Average at best. I ordered a few basic rolls to go which were prepared while I shopped at Publix. The rolls were tiny and predominantly rice ie. void of fish. These 3 rolls make a great appetizer but are not substantial enough to justify calling the meal "lunch." I won't be back, sorry but there are much better options out there.

Fuji Sushi is actually one of my favorite sushi places around town. It's not the best, but it's worth it. The prices here are rather high compared to other sushi joints.. For dinner, it's around $11 just for a plate of shrimp fried rice. A little high don't you think? Other place offer it close to $7.00 and the sizes are comparable. Other than that, their sushi, and bento platters are worth it. Some of their sushi rolls do costs around $9-$12 however, they are specialy rolls. This place is an ideal place for lunch, as they offer lunch menu with great prices! $7-10 for a hibachi lunch special, now that's worth it! I often can only come here during dinner hours, so I always miss the lunch time menu. My favorite item to order is their bento box dinner set . It comes with california rolls, four pieces of sushi, a main meal (choose between Salmon, chicken, or beef), vegetable tempura, shrimp tempura, and pork dumplings. All that for $16.75! A great deal I say! Service here was so and so. It's usually a hit and miss. One day they can be very attentive, the other it's just like they had forgotten about you! But it's ok, their sushi made it up. If you are in the baymeadows area, and craving for some sushi, I highly recommend this place! Oh, and once in awhile they do offer groupon and it's a great deal!

Came here one night and from the outside it looked closed but there's a lighted open sign so we proceeded to go in. It was actually opened and it's a small place with a couple of tables, a sushi bar, and TV. The place looked nice and clean except for the bathroom which needs a little bit more attention. There was one sushi chef and one server. The place didn't seem busy at all. We ordered a couple of sushi rolls and they were all OK. Presentation looks good. The ocean roll (with rice paper wrapping) was the best one out of the 4 rolls we tried. The waitress didn't tell us which sushi was which either. I thought the sushi rice was a bit hard and dry making it difficult to swallow compared to other good sushi places. I wished I tried their bento boxes, that might have been better. It also looks like they have some good lunch deals. The prices were a bit too much for their sushi quality unless you have a groupon or coupon that I've seen they advertised in. If I come back, I will try something else here other than sushi.

New owners took over May 1, 2014, and you can definitely tell the difference (even with these Yelp reviews). I'd been here before the change in ownership, and the service was cold and not customer-friendly at all. The sushi was also just okay, nothing special. I decided to give this place another shot because of a Groupon, and I'm so glad I did. The new owner, Kim, has really turned this place around. The staff is so friendly, the service is much faster, and the quality of sushi is outstanding! Sushi chef Leo really knows what he's doing - whether it's a classic roll or it's new and imaginative, it's still consistently amazing! This has become my favorite sushi restaurant in Jacksonville, hands down. I wanted to wait after a few visits to post a review, and I'm glad to say the service and quality of food is still outstanding.

Absolutely wonderful! My wife and I go here all the time because we love the high quality sushi and the best service in Jacksonville. We love sushi and have tried sushi all over Jacksonville and this is the best! The prices are cheap too! Anyone who finds this gem is going to make this place their favorite sushi place. I guarantee it!

The sushi is always very good. I love the staff. They are very welcoming and always remember us when we come in. If you go in on your birthday, you can get a free roll of your choice. They also frequently have deals available on groupon. I highly suggest the pink lady roll! The delivery is also very fast and convenient!

First time ordering from here. Eating the food now. I'm happy with everything. The food is fresh and I love that it's not too crazy oily like other places I have ordered. I got the chicken teriyaki and miso soup and egg friend rice my husband got the beef teriyaki with fried rice and a salad. I would suggest this place for sure!
