Well, every day we listen to Hacker on 1010xl talk about this place and he finally wore us down and we had to try it... All I can say is that I'm so glad that I am so glad that we finally came in. The bang shrimp appetizer was awesome, the lunch prices are perfect and the portions are exactly what they should be. Not only was everything absolutely delicious, but the price was right and the service was beyond terrific! Jim really went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with our visit. Beyond happy with this place, definitely getting added to the lunch rotation.

Excellent meal and a great value! I have been in JAX for 3 says and have sampled local seafood fare each evening. Fisherman's Galley Grill & Bar was the last stop and quite enjoyable. I had a very nice serving of scallops, oysters and shrimp. All lightly battered, piping hot and seasoned well. Everything was fresh. Oysters were small, but very flavorful. They were a little Light on the steamed veggies, but probably assumed I wasn't too health conscious. Very attentive service from Stephen. Relatively quiet for a Saturday night. For $23, I am quite full and satisfied.

Delicious food, strong drinks, wonderful friendly service. Felt that the atmosphere was a little awkward. Bad radio music playing, and servers seem forced to check tables way to often. But prices are great, and i have gone now twice. Will get back for sure! Shout out to Steven, hard working guy! You rock.

As far as Jacksonville goes, this is actually decent Seafood. But, have to say that the Jacksonville casual seafood selection isn't great. Well, it isn't even good. Anyhow, to start with the positives, the service was good. Spoke with the owner and he's a nice guy. Want to tell you how great the food was but I'd be lying to you. Now the bad, Frozen everything was the problem. The fries tasted almost freezer-burnt, the hush puppies were super frozen, the shrimp may have been hand-battered and fresh but I couldn't tell because they were fried long enough and the batter was soggy. Fresh, house-made food isn't hard to do. It's actually cheaper to make in-house stuff. My search for good seafood in Jax continues with no hope in site.

Excellent food and great staff. We had the fish stew and the Fisherman's Galley platter. Both were the best I've had!

Since I have lived in the area this particular location had been a St. John's Seafood (which I didn't particularly care for) and an Italian/Greek/Mediterranean styled restaurant (which was was actually quite good). It's now a seafood restaurant again and was pretty good. The staff was very friendly and made sure the patrons were well attended to while eating. To begin, we ordered a sampler platter. It included bang bang shrimp, calamari and gator bites. The shrimp were doused with a sweetish sauce and was very tasty. However, you shouldn't go in expecting Bonefish's bang bang shrimp. These were very different, but in a good way. The gator bites were also quite good. As they weren't tough and chewy, but were very tender pieces of gator and seasoned very good. I mean the GlamBaby was even eating them, which says a lot on the subject of being tender. Now the calamari, I just wasn't feeling. I can't quite put my finger on it, but there was a taste I didn't quite like. For my meal, I selected the seafood trio and chose shrimp, oysters an scallops. I was very pleased with the shrimp because they weren't small popcorn shrimp and again seasoned very well. My initial thought after glancing at the oysters, were that they were fried too long. However, when I bit into them they were actually perfectly fried. Not hard at all. I think the darkness threw me for a curve. The scallops had that same flavor as the calamari and I didn't care for them either. I seriously can't explain it, but it was different. They also seemed a bit watery. The entree included 2 sides and I chose fried corn on the cob and Mac n Cheese. The fried corn on the cob was very good. Nice and buttery with big kernels of sweet corn for the gnawing! Yum!!! The Mac n Cheese was not my favorite, but I'm very particular about that dish anyway. I'll end this review by saying Fisherman's was really good. Can I say it was as good as another fairly new seafood restaurant located further down the way? Not yet. However, there is potential and I look forward to seeing this establishment grow. I will return.

Fantastic lunch or dinner choice. Their seafood is some of the best in Jax. Highly recommend the blackened shrimp or Mahi. The staff is is super friendly and the service is spot on.

Oh That Smell!! Thats the first thing that hits you when you walk in. Frozen Fish......Frozen Hush Puppies ......The Gator Tail was like chewing bubble gum.....the Fried green Tomatoes....not sweet, the cuts were inconsistent. Oh did I mention that smell?? If I could have given 0 Stars I would have. Waste of $40.00!!

This was our first visit to Fishermans Galley! It was just So So !!! Wasn't a bad experience but wasn't knock your socks off either .. Got the blackened Mahi sandwich which was good. Tried the Clam Chowder was a little watery to my liking .. I prefer creamy thicker clam chowder .. Staff was friendly but server was fairly new and didn't quite know the menu ... All in all was just ok !!!

I found this place using Yelp while I was on travel. Upon arriving I was greeted very warmly and sat at a booth. Service was quick. I got the grilled talapia with broccoli and cucumber salad. The Talapia and cucumber salad both had amazing flavors. The broccoli was a little overdone for my tastes. Also, each meal comes with hush puppies which were good. The restaurant was quiet and some of the patrons were clearly regulars. Friendly staff and tasty food earn this restaurant 4 starts.

So glad to find good seafood at good prices in Mandarin again. We have been several times since the beginning of June and continue to be pleased. The seafood has all been excellent. I've had the regular shrimp, the special of fish and chips, and their bang bang shrimp. The shrimp batter is not too heavy. The shrimp are large with generous portions. Bang bang come with the sauce on the side, but I enjoyed dipping so that was fine. Bang bang shrimp are on special on Tuesday for $5. We are not much for appetizers. We have tried the onion rings. They were very good. They come with a side of ranch. We mixed ranch with the bang bang sauce for a superb dipping sauce. We have also had the fried green tomatoes and the fried mushrooms (as of my update, mushrooms are a special, but we keep asking for them to be a regular menu item!). Both are fried with their wonderful batter and are very good! As for sides, I have tried the fried corn, coleslaw and macaroni and cheese, and the French fries. The fried corn was dry and not so good. The macaroni and cheese was very creamy and cheesy. It is a favorite now. The coleslaw was very good. The fries are standard precut potatoes. My children have had shrimp, grilled cheese, chicken tenders and kids burger. All have been quite good. They added cheese and lettuce for the burger with no issue. The chicken tenders seem to be fresh made. I know there is a picture of obviously frozen ones. They no longer use those. The grilled cheese is standard grilled cheese but was still very good. The kids shrimp is the same as the adult. The waitstaff is attentive. The owner is around and willing to talk. I really want to give Fisherman a 5 star but when I do, yelp hides it.

That William guy is crazy.. My and my friend both ate and everything was amazing. . Breading is perfectly seasoned and the shrimp are huge. .Mahi Mahi blackened was wonderful and don't get me started on the crab cakes.. You are cheating yourself if you don't try this place out. I am a long haul trucker and I eat many places. . This is some of the best seafood I have tried. .

Seven of us ate, most had a beverage at the bar. When we sat down service was slow and waitress forgetful. One guy at the table had to go find his own sauces. Fries were cold. Food was less than average to just average. Portions were on the small side. We were in a long time ago when it was St Johns Seafood. Not much has changed. Nothing to really draw us back. If you were more like St Mary's Seafood down the street you would be packed!!!!

I'm picky about my fish. I have to say, they do salmon right! It was the best I've had in a long time. I've only been there once, I'm not an expert, but I'm looking forward to going back! Just as good, maybe better the 2nd time around!

I've been there twice in the short time they've been open & both were great. I saw they have a nice looking burger but I'm a fish eater. You can get Blackened Mahi, shrimp, and more. I really enjoyed the flounder today. It was perfect. The batter has a nice pepper taste to it rather than the bland stuff you usually find out there. I'd love to see a bigger beer selection & more appetizer/sides to choose from, so I was on the fence at 4.5 stars. But then I thought, having an affordable seafood place where the simplicity is good, is really such a nice thing & I know I'll keep coming, so 5 stars it is. The service was also perfect both times...fast drink refills, which most restaurants never get right. It's definitely worth a try for anyone.

Great food. Very fresh seafood which offers choice of blackened, grilled, or fried. Staff is great and it's a very kid friendly restaurant so it is great for families. Highly recommend.

Great new seafood place. The fried shrimp is some of the best in Jacksonville. I am really glad that Outback steakhouse was to busy because that was the reason we found this place. I believe the owner is very involved as he ran around making sure that everyone was taken care of. We can't wait to come back.

We were greeted promptly when entering the restaurant and seated immediately; the server and owner couldn't have been nicer. We ordered bang bang shrimp appetizer, then grilled mahi and salmon, and a blackened mahi sandwich also. All the seafood was outstanding - fresh and perfectly cooked. Shrimp were well seasoned and huge. Hush puppies were great also. Fries were a little limp, mac/cheese was so-so and onion rings a little inconsistent, hence 4 stars. Will absolutely be back, though; we're really happy to get good fresh seafood in this part of town.

New place has super fresh seafood. I had the combo plate with fried oysters, fried shrimp, and fried cod. I could have had them grilled, broiled or blackened. The cod, like their other fish was freshly butchered. It was very moist, and properly cooked. Very, very good. The shrimp were large Georgia, white shrimp. They were great. Maybe the best ever. I had these with house-made cocktail sauce. Wow. Maybe even better were the Apalachicola Oysters. These were the best fried oysters we have ever had! Wow. Light. Properly breaded. Fried beautifully. Perfection. Served with their house made tartar sauce. The lunch came with a choice of two sides and hush puppies. All were really good. As the portions were very large, no dessert or apps. Nice choices. Service was quick, attentive and very friendly. As the name implies, the Fisherman's Galley has freshly prepared, top-notch ingredients. Prices are very, very fair. Highly recommended!

Would not go back. Very bubbly waitress and talked more when it was tip time, but service was poor up to the time food was delivered. It also came in waves so no one got their food at the same time. The sides were cold, and the shrimp average at best. All the drinks were empty until we finally went to find her. Delivered food and no utensils so had to wait longer for that. Asked for hot sauce, never came until we were also finished with food. Asked for HOT French fries, delivered a basket of fries that were hot, and probably the best part of the meal, but too late to enjoy. Decided to give them a try since they're advertised heavily on sports talk radio.... but I think the station must be given lots of free food in exchange for comments. Was not real busy for a Friday night, so I guess others have learned before us. Had a great time with the company we were with, so took away from the dissatisfaction. Saw some friends we knew at another table and they left a lot of food behind too. St. Mary's is a much better option for hot, fried seafood if you're looking for something decent and not real expensive.
