Came here for the jerk chicken and beef patties but sadly they were out. I ended up ordering the beef stew with a side of mac n' cheese and cabbage. Beef stew was ok. The beef was tough but the flavor was good. Mac n' cheese was lack-luster. Tasted like it was left-over from the previous night. Overall 3 stars for ok food and slow service. It might be a while til I come back to try their jerk chicken. I would definitely call ahead next time for it's availability though.

I am rating this restaurant on their jerk chicken alone! My husband and I called in an order "to-go." An older lady with a strong accent asked the phone. She had the mannerism of an older foreigner. We picked up our order 20 minutes later. The smell of the food alone amazing. We finally arrived at our house. We destroy it! It was the Best Jamaican Jerk chicken ever!

Well back again. First of all, the great smell of the food is still there. Next, we checked to make sure everything we bought was there. That went well too. So now the question of the day.....is there jerk sauce/gravy to accompany the jerk chicken? And the verdict is.....there is. But they put it on the rice & peas. It wasn't on the chicken, which is still a point of contention for me. So I hope again like before that either they read my review, or one of you reading this will inform them about this minor but important deficiency, and my next review will be 5 stars.

Well we finally went in to try this place out but never got a chance to try the food. Everyone was very nice and eager to help. But here's the scenario, Spencer ordered a jerk chicken salad but we were told that the had no salads that day. I ordered beef patties and then were told that they had no patties that day. Since the first two things we tried to order they didn't have, we just decided to leave. Not sure if I'll try it again...

Lunch special Jerk chicken is off the chain, comes with rice and peas,a canned soda and a good portion of Jerked chicken for less than $7. I'm always full. From NY, and I was impressed because the only place I would think would have better food than NY(large West Indian population) is JAMAICA it self. Beef patties are so flaky and delicious, I can't stay away from this place. The things that need work:some time Jerk isn't ready by lunch time(11)am and if u have a 30 min lunch break like me, ur screwed. ALWAYS CALL Ahead to make sure it is ready. Very slow service. Call ahead so your food will be ready when u get there! All in all, this is an authentic. Jamaican Rest. eat in or take out. Glad I live close to it.

OMG GOOOOO !! Its on the Westside so may be a drive but so worth it. For $8 its enough food for two adults with maybe an extra side if need be. Reminds me of a place I used to frequent when i lived in Jersey City Heights in NJ. This is authentic for sure so if you love Jamaican like me you will love this. Enjoy ! !!

Okay so I considered myself a food enthusiast, and I am very open minded when it comes to food. This place has the best jerk chicken I have ever tasted, and probably will ever taste. Chickens will continue to be my enemy as long as this place is open.

I love the food. I really really do. The customer service isn't the best, but!! I don't let that take away from the great taste of the food! I always get the oxtail plate. Great taste of back home in the islands!

This is one of my favorite dining establishment's to frequent in the Jacksonville area. Tucked into the back corner of a small shopping center located on 103rd St. . I recommend their Jerk Chicken dinner with rice and peas, cabbage and request extra gravy sauce. I've been to this restaurant over ten times and they have yet to let me down so far. Given the quality of their food I am willing to over look a few things that would otherwise turn me off to a restaurant . The first thing being customer service. The service is far from terrible, don't get me wrong. The associate or owner perhaps seems to move about with no sense of urgency. Maybe it's the island culture. I'm not sure. She has the tendency to turn a what should be only two to three minute transaction into a five minute transaction in regards to taking your order and then proceeding to charge your credit or debit card. At first I was thrown off by this but over time I've grown to love it actually. Ironically it doesn't bother me anymore given I figured if she takes her time with processing transactions, clearly she is taking her time in the kitchen which is evident in the quality of their finished product. I've tried their stew checked which I wasn't very excited about. Their Jerk Chicken dish is very succulent and savory. The portions are very generous and the large size could actually feed two adults . I'd recommend this establishment to anyone who is a fan of Caribbean food or is curious to trying it. I do recommend calling in before heading over just to verify that they have freshly prepared items.

Love this place. Good portions for the price. Food is great. Chicken curry is the only thing I've had so far but I do plan on trying additional items. Beef patty is good as well. Will be trying the oxtails next time. Service is a little slow sometimes so maybe not the best place if you are in a rush.

Jerk chicken was on point. Was upset that they didn't have no beef Patty or Coco bread. Other then that they have gain a new loyal customer.

The place is located about 2 minutes drive from 103rd rd exit from 295 and has a decent seating area with about four tables on one side and booths opposite to it, and there is even a bar seating area as the Famous Jamaican serves beers too. The service is nonexistence and you just go to the counter to order and consider yourself lucky if you are acknowledged, nonetheless, it shouldn't be deterrent to enjoy what you are there for. I got the lunch special of Jamaican jerk chicken; it comes with a can soda and cost only 6.95. It really is a steal and is more than enough for a single meal even though it looks small in that styrofoam bowl. The chicken is cooked really well and is optimally spiced and it has some bones to make it really authentic. It has a great taste and they can adjust the level of gravy according to your choice, a really nice complement to the bean rice which I wasn't crazy about. It was OK but was somewhat oily. I will definitely like to try their other sea food offerings the next time I am in the vicinity. They do have beers and TVs with soccer beaming on some of them, so there is one more reason to visit the place. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.
