Very pleased with the amazing happy hour specials!! And loved 2 for 1 draught beers and the best part about that deal is they have some great CRAFT beer on tap. A semi-rare find in the Jax area. We gathered some stools at the bar. Friendly staff and casual atmosphere. The restaurant reminds me of a street car style diner though as you walk in the doors, you're greeted by a large case of sweets. It's an eclectic place for sure. We didn't have any of the food so I can't speak at all to their menu.

Quirky with old store charm- Little candies and a plethora of beers for purchase. Happy hours with 2:1 local beers on tap. Lots of vegan friendly options as well. I ordered Athenas Gift which was a raw GF vegan sandwich which was really yummy. I topped it off with the spicy mustard blend they offer up. Next time I'll be sure to try the vegan cheesecakes displayed in the front- they look divine! Oh, and service was also excellent!

This was my third visit to the European Street Cafe. I didn't like it. The beer cheese soup everyone liked? Not for me. The Huge hot dog? Not for me. The flavors were boring, the bread was stale. But I couldn't help but notice that everyone around me was very happy with their food. Guess its just me. The happy hour brewskis was a great deal. And my server was fantastic.

As always, the Yelpers haven't disappointed. To start, we had the ciabatta and Boursin appetizer which definitely didn't disappoint. And it was the perfect size for two people without leaving us too full for our meals. As for the entrees, I had the tabbouleh and hummus pita. If you're into Mediterranean at all, definitely give it a shot. My companion had the classic Reuben. He'll have you know that they didn't skimp on the sauerkraut and the rye was the perfect taste and texture. I will mention that we received potato chips and pickles as sides automatically. Personally, I didn't find it fitting and wish I'd been presented with alternatives. As far as pricing, it was very affordable and well worth the trip! The restaurant seemed very under-staffed, but the service was adequate where it needed to be. Perhaps they're just picky when hiring? The atmosphere was a bit odd. Sort of country store meets hometown restaurant, however, Holy beer selection! We even picked up a couple foreign six-packs to go! I only wish I'd had room for dessert!

Being a person who doesn't eat meat I love deli style eateries (with loads of vegetarian friendly options.) European Street has an extensive menu of salads, sandwiches, pastries, wraps, wines, and more and all at an affordable price. I have been to this and several other locations and the consistency of the food is impressive. My sister and I both love the spinach dip. I also love this tuna pita they serve which has chick peas and lots of herbs in it. My last visit I saw a sign about happy hour wine, I'll definitely be back to check that out. I'd recommend this place for both a quick lunch or a casual dinner.

Always a good place for a semi-fast lunch. I usually get the same thing; a tuna on warm croissant with potato salad instead of chips. My hubby is a big fan of their beer cheese soup with pretzel stick. 1 sandwich is usually enough for our 2 kids to split. Their clubs are pretty big and a good deal for the price. The service could use some improvement. Most of the servers are decent but some just need to be retrained. Especially when it gets busy, that's when the service is the worst. One time we sat for at least 10-15 mins before being acknowledged and had to go find a server to get menus. If they are short staffed then they should hire more servers. They have a yummy selection of deserts, some of which are organic and vegan. Parking is pretty scarce when it's busy as well. But not a whole they can do about that considering the location.

Not a big Fan, But I always have the Suasages, pretty hard to mess that up, they Do not have Mashed Potatoes and being from ZINZINNATI, OHIO. (German Ref) I Love them with my Sour Kraut. Wife gets some Spicey Turkey sandwich. So Not bad but not a go to for me. If you like beer and wine or just a social spot check it out.

I had lunch there. I believe I had the beer soup, which in my opinion was very cheesy...I also had the turkey croissant sandwich, which was very good. I think this place is great for happy hour. The collection of beer there was awesome. Unfortunately, I did not have time that day. Now, the best part was their dessert. I had the chocolate cake, which was heavenly, but very expensive. I would have given it 5 stars, but they are very expensive.

Meh. The food was okay. Nothing to really boast about. I thought it was all just average. The prices were fair. I was very surprised that the chips weren't home made, the sauerkraut was far too sour to enjoy. The selection of mustards was a nice touch; I was pleasantly surprised by the spicy one. Service was unremarkable; which isn't necessarily a terrible thing. I had come with hopes of a nice German lunch. It just fell short; either that or my past experiences have set the bar too high. Either way I don't think I will be trying this one again. Danke schön, what a shame.

I'm going to be the voice of dissent here. Personally, I'm not a fan of European Street. I know they've been around forever and are popular with the San Marco crowd. Having been there several times over the years, I've never left European Street feeling satisfied with either the value for the money or the enjoyment of the experience as a whole. It's not bad, but it's just not great. There are a ton of other restaurants in the area that offer a better experience, food and value. That being said, you could do a lot worse.

I don't know what it is about this place. But every time I leave I feel all warm and fuzzy inside, the club Royale is the absolute best! Side order of kibbee or a bread bowl of beer cheese soup is the way to go. They also have great sliders if you want to sample all your favorites! European street is definitely one of Jax's best kept secrets! The next time diners drives and dives are in town guy needs to stop here!! I highly recommend this place to everyone!!

  • Jenny Z.

Everything was ok. There's nothing special about the cafe. The food wasn't bad, but I didn't love it either. I felt like it cheapened the experience with them selling candies and chocolates that are sold in supermarkets all over the United States. There's really nothing special about Lindt chocolate when it lines the walls of every Walmart. One thing I did really like and will definitely come back for are the macaroons.

European Street Cafe is a wonderful venue for a relaxed sandwich lunch. The hummus and tabbouleh pita is moist and savory. I recommend the beer cheese soup to the brave souls out there! Sometimes there is a bit of a wait here but the food is well worth it. It's a casual venue so don't expect a fancy table dinner... With that said, it's always good. Their extensive list of imported beer doesn't hurt.

Since being on a raw vegan diet, I was surprised to see this place and to have the food that taste good... I really enjoyed everything that I tasted to include the raw strawberry cheesecake. The server was very nice and took the time to answer all of my questions without rushing me. The only thing bad is the parking, good luck.

The sandwiches are always solidly good. I never am blown away by the fare but it has never let me down either. Maybe the reason for that is because I go during happy hour and get the tall. (BOGO). I believe they call that eating under the influence. S'okay, my family enjoys it, especially the princess Anna. I do like the champagne cheese spread with the pretzel. Nothing to call home about but I wouldn't shun it either.

E Street Is a long time player in Jacksonville Many years ago it was Mr Dunderbarkers and was housed at Regency Sq. I thought food was better then but it's not bad now. A great selection of sandwiches and beer to suite everyone's desires. Some of the best selections; Rubin with Kraut and Russian Dressing. Another fav built for sharing European Street Ultimate. This is a belt buster loaded with Turkey, ham summer sausage and smoked gouda. It always customer choice of bread. There is also a Veggie option and a large selection of German Sausage dishes I am partial to the dark rye. Service is efficient and waitstaff is generally very pleasant. Great spot for early evening happy hour. There is also a retail store for specialty beers they carry well over 100 choices, food stuff and chocolate. Don't forget the desserts, the cakes are too die for. There is also a wide selection of gianourmous cookies.

Oh European Street. A Jacksonville icon, and always solid and consistent food. I really haven't had a sandwich I didn't like... the Reuben's, veggie Reuben and croissants are great! The chicken salad is a bit bland, and they could cut up their salads a bit better, but all in all pretty good. The food probably won't knock your socks off (maybe the beer cheese soup) but always seems to find a way to hit the spot. The beer selection is what moves me though. :) When I moved from Southside, I really wanted to be within walking distance of E-Street. And glad to say that I made that happen. Really enjoy that you can buy a nice imported 6-pack if you haven't drank enough during your meal.

We were disappointed by this restaurant as we've heard good things. the food was terrible and the service was just okay. The meat quality is really poor and reminds me of a lunchable. Also, the pretzel served with the soup was microwaved and hard. They removed my cordon bleu sandwich from the check which was nice. It sounds like the happy hour is a good deal but we didn't go at that time. Also, the menu is way too big... It's impossible to make a quick decision!

Neat find. Not being from Jacksonville we had no idea that this was a 'restaurant' row area. We decided to dine here due to previous yelp reviews. The locale is nice. The ambiance is nice. The service was nice but overwhelmed due to the number of patrons. The food was 3.5 to 4 stars. I got the classic Ruben and was surprised when it came out to find the bread not toasted or grilled. Served on un-toasted rye bread made it a little soggy to eat. I spoke with the server and he said the kitchen does it on request. Wish I would have know ahead of time. Oh well. But all in all we really did like this place. Worthy of a nice lunch out 4 star rating.

Ahh, sandwich and beer heaven! I have been to 2 different European Street locations during my trips to Jacksonville and I found them both to be quite enjoyable. The menu is diverse offering traditional deli sandwiches, salads, soups, and German fare (bratwurst and such). The beer menu is extensive and they are very fairly priced. The atmosphere in European Street is as if you just stepped into old Germany and the servers are really nice and attentive. I really like the food and beer and would definitely be a regular if I lived in the Jacksonville area! Give it a try!

Solid 3/5. Nice, relaxing place to eat. Please note that my experience with European cafes is like, near zero, so I'm not trying to compare very much to actual European cafes. I wasn't thinking very much, but I ordered the beer cheese soup (since a lot of people seem to like it) and the Turkey Parisian. Waaay too much food for me, it turned out. The beer cheese soup was not as cloyingly cheesy as I expected and I actually enjoyed it a lot, especially with the pretzel stick, then with the chips that came with the Turkey Parisian. I'm a little less impressed with the Turkey Parisian, but I'm also not sure if the beer cheese soup messed with my taste buds so that I couldn't appreciate all the subtler flavors of the Turkey Parisian. To be honest, it seemed to me more of a sandwich loosely based on Thanksgiving than a Parisian style sandwich? What do I know of Parisian sandwiches though? All I know if that I couldn't really taste the brie (re: beer cheese soup as probable culprit), and besides that it was pretty much deli turkey and raspberry sauce. Croissant was good though. Overall, decent place for a meal. Saw that it had a pretty extensive beer list and a good happy hour deal but I decided not to since I drove. If I get a future opportunity (I was in Jacksonville for work), I'd go again.

Love this place. We had a groupon so we decided to once again go here. I love trying something new everytime while my wife always gets the Michelangelo Pita. I had the Roast Beef Boursin on an Onion Roll. OMG the onion roll!!!!!

I will return for beer cheese soup and their soft yummy pretzel. They do not have a grill so i would not recommend sandwiches. Chocolate cake was to die for!

came in a few months ago for a light lunch and happened to come in during the Happy Hour...so we got two beers for the price of one and split a California Ruben...the best part was that you can share a sandwich and get two separate plates of chips and pickle spears for only $1.75 extra! our check was $17 all together and we left happy and full! we sat outside...I really liked the little patio area (probably my favorite part of the restaurant) and our waitress was so nice! definitely looking forward to coming back when we move to Jacksonville in January!!

Even now when European Street Cafe comes to mind...as extensive and variety-filled as their menu is...it always comes down to the cookies. Oh yeah...the cookies. They're huge, baked in house, and they're incredible, with flavors ranging from white chocolate raspberry to chocolate dipped oreo (one of my personal faves). The last time I was here, I came for lunch before an appointment at the hospital nearby. The atmosphere is quaint and casual, and the service is quick enough to satisfy anyone here on their break from work. If you want more details on the atmosphere...go there, because my mind is still locked on the dessert case. Oh wait...beer. There is a whole entire wall of beer in this place. Most of them I didn't recognize, but then again, I love cookies more than beer so..... I ordered the Pastrami Croissant with swiss cheese, lettuce, and tomato, which comes with a side of chips. The pastrami was moist, tender, and thankfully with just the right touch of saltiness. And the croissant? Flaky, buttery, light, which complemented the meat rather well. I can't really rave about the chips because I'm more of a "fries" person. To me, they tasted like regular potato chips. The waitress was really good about checking in and topping off my soda for me. Thumbs up! Now for the goods...You HAVE to see it. It's directly in front as you walk in the doors, and it's loaded from one end to the other with brick sized rice krispie treats (chocolate dipped too!), cakes, pastries...and don't forget the cookies. Oh you'll thank me, you'll thank me. It's enough to cure the most severe cases of sweet tooth, trust. Obviously a guilty pleasure, but well worth it. I'll be back time and time again!

When you're craving a good sandwich, European Street fits the bill. I've been a few times in the past two months and was satisfied each time. If you want an appetizer, I recommend the pretzel or crackers and Boursin spread are tasty. Their soups are also really good - I really like the Italian wedding. One friend proclaims the beer cheese as fabulous and another says the tomato bisque is hands down the winner. Try them all and decide for yourself! My go to lunch is the turkey parisian with brie, cucumbers, and raspberry sauce on a croissant. I'm a big fan of making my own club - double turkey on pumpernickel, thanks. Ask for the mustard trio - yellow, deli, and hot - to add to your sandwich with reckless abandon. Sandwiches are served with a big handful of wavy chips and a pickle spear. European Street has a big selection of beers, a drool worthy dessert case, and a market full of beer and imported candy. It's a local institution and you have to try it al least once.

One of my favorite spots! Im very rarely disappointed here, and its one of those place we always bring our out-of-town guest. The vegetarian/vegan options have increased greatly since Ive first started coming here, about 5 years ago. Now theres quite a few choices for everyone!

We were excited to try this place out, it had great reviews and looked cute. Unfortunately, it had subpar, average food at best. Actually, it was kind of gross. The desserts weren't even good. My husband and I were pretty un-impressed. Sadly, we won't be going back.

My fiancé and I live a couple blocks away from the San Marco euro street. I would caution you to go on the weekends or between 5 and 7 PM during the week when they have their happy hours. They Reuben sandwiches are amazing and their tallboy beers have to be more than a pint. This service is good and they have a nice patio seating area. It is usually a once a week spot for us.

Can you say love at first sight? well repeat it again and that is this place. I loved it here. I haven had a good corned beef sandwich since I left Detroit. I have found it here my lil slice of the D. The food and desserts in the front case will make your taste buds water. I need to go back now

I probably eat at European street once every 1-2 months. They have happy hour every day from 5-7pm & the specials include 2-4-1 draft beers & half off wine. They have a wide selection of local & nonlocal craft beers. The atmosphere is a little kitchy and grandmotherly, but the food is awesome! I highly recommend the turkey parisian, muffalatta, croissant cor don bleu or happy sally salad. The homemade cookies & cakes are also to die for but it's best to bring them home as you will leave here full! There are regular coupons in Money and/or Mint magazine for BOGO entrees. We usually stock-pile these :) My only complaint (and the reason I'm not giving it 5 stars) is the service. They typically only have 2-3 servers for the entire floor. The food is worth the wait, but dont come here in a hurry :)

I typically go to the ESC at the Beach, but since my friends and I were in San Marco and looking to dive into a place to satisfy everyone's hunger for dinner, drinks or dessert, we decided upon ESC. There's currently construction on San Marco Blvd, but don't let that deter you from coming to this location. There's plenty of parking in front and around the restaurant. So last night, my party of 8 walked into ESC and ended up standing around for a while. I made eye contact with several people, but no one said anything to us, which I thought was rude. Finally, I spoke up and said, "Can we just sit anywhere?" One of the guys came over and said he'll prepare our table. From then on, service was great. Those who wanted dinner, got dinner... those who wanted dessert got their sweet tooth fix... and those who wanted beer, got 2 for the price of 1 because they had a special: buy 1 get 1 free if you buy local beers. Score!!! Good thing my friend and I like Bold CIty Dukes Brown Ale. As usual, the food was great. I always get the chicken framboise sandwich (the raspberry on the side makes it such a yummy sandwich!!!) and I always ask for hot mustard for my chips.

I loved my lunch date here! I went yesterday with my husband and we really enjoyed it! They have every sandwich you could ever think of, plus lots of bratwurst and sauerkraut selections. I had the Classic Reuben and loved every bite! I definitely recommend this place for a lunch date. Not to mention, they have cakes and amazing looking cookies!

Service is always stellar. I've been in with lots of different dietary constraints and have always come away with a great experience today was no different. There weren't a whole lot of gluten free vegetarian choices but there were more than most places!! Whoo hoo!! They do have gluten free wraps for those of you who eat meat and just want to skip the bread. Prior to becoming gluten free my favorite was the Smart Reuben Hero. I really enjoyed Athena's Gift today, it was messy but delicious. My only complaint is that when I ordered a veggie hot dog for my four year old they charged the full price rather than the kid price. She ate it completely plain (as in no bun, no kraut, no nothing) and I didn't want anything but chips and of course I had to pay for her drink. In the past they have substituted the veggie dog for the real dog and I've paid the kid price. I'd love it if they would add the veggie dog to the kids menu....there would be zero confusion that way.

Strong selection of beer and wines along with an extensive menu. I'm quite fond of their different styles of sausages and franks and have tried multiple combinations. The potato salad is quite unique and worth ordering, even if your meal doesn't include it. Locals and visitors should be on the lookout for rather common 2 for 1 coupon that is good after 2pm.

I'm totally convinced that Yelp is deleting my reviews. I know for a fact that I reviewed the European Street Cafe in December but yet my review is gone. And that has happened with a few other places. Sigh, here we go again: We initially came here on a recommendation from a friend when we were in town looking for a place to live so we stopped in for lunch. It was our first look at life along the river and we were very impressed!! I think we ordered sandwiches for lunch and they were delish. I love all the little items for sale in here as well. They also have a good beer selection!!

    E. Street, as I have affectionately come to call it, is nothing short of an addiction. When I am in town, it is a staple. The atmosphere is at first slightly confusing. My first experience was at the San Marco location. Upon entering, I was under the impression I had entered a sandwich shop, then I saw the beer taps, then I saw what was in them, then I saw the German fare on the menu. These things made me very happy. After traveling to Europe for the first time since then, I realized that this style of establishment was far more typical there.... but I digress. My favorite dish is the Knockwurst with red curry. In truth, this dish for me is about the total experience. Paired with pretzel bread, sauerkraut, and their amazing version of hot potato salad.... it makes me shed a small tear of joy. Have you ever been to a restaurant with an amazing selection of beers, only to find out that the happy hour only includes crappy beer? Not here. 2 for 1 of anything on tap. Happy hour is low key, with great conversational atmosphere. They also have a great selection of six packs you can take home. Last but not least.... the COOKIES. They are in a league of their own with a huge variety of tasty morsels stuffed within. Finishing one is a feat of gluttony, but so enjoyable.

Dirty and tables crowded on top of one another. When we arrived there were a half dozen tables with dirty dishes, leftover food and drinks on them. The tables are so jammed together that the woman at the adjacent table who kept fixing her hair kept fixing it right over my food. Yuck! Our waitress had to be reminded to bring us the spoon we requested, had to be asked to refill our drinks and had to be asked to bring our bill. She also bumped my arm every time she went by and never once even acknowledged it. The food was okay but not good enough for us to go back. The dirty tables were never cleaned the entire time we were there even though there was staff just leaning on the bar most of the time. Used to be a good place but not anymore.

The food here is cheap, and so is the quality. The warm baked brie was okay. It would've been better served with some jam, like the Mucky Duck does in Houston. Of the items I tried, the brie was the best, but that's not saying much. I tried the beer cheese soup, and I didn't like it. Not only was it tasteless, but I really had a hard time with the texture. It was thicker than queso - quite gloopy. The combination of maize and mustard colors also didn't look aesthetically pleasing. I ordered a turkey sandwich on pumpernickel bread. I was disappointed the bread wasn't hearty or thick. Rather, it was like regular sandwich bread but black. The pumpernickel bread I buy in a grocery store is a much better quality and cheaper. Frankly, I can make a better sandwich at home. I needed a place to work, and this restaurant served its purpose. Will I come again? Probably not.

Cutest cafe in san marco. Great selection of beers from around the world. My boyfriend and I vacationed in Jacksonville and went here twice it was soo good. Cookies are a must have. Beer soup and warm pretzel sticks were amazing too! I also recommend the tabouleh pita.

Ever since they got rid of live music the place has gone down hill. Now, 3 friends and I won't be back. We walked in and sat at a table waiting for service. It was not that busy and and couple of the workers were doing other things while ignoring my table even though it was obvious we were there. They would not even acknowledge us. After 10 minutes we got up and left.

Anyway I haven't been to this place since I was a kid and would only eat the hot dog. I tell my dad lets do something Different since we're out this way. Off to e street we go! We seat ourselves cause that's what it said to do and within minutes the waitress is there and already back with our drinks. She was so attentive and alert and sweet and fun and friendly ( anymore ands haha? ) and amazing. It took me like ten minutes to read everything and figure out what I want. Everything sounds amazing ! I settle with the prince Andrew sandwich or whatever it's called haha. I asked her what bread I should use and I'm sorry I forgot what she said but it was brown. Not just wheat. Had a fancy name. Was just like white but healthier. Anyway I'm not a big lettuce fan so I took that off. It didn't take long for the sandwich to come out. Here we go : boy was it amazing. Love at first bite. It was so sweet and salty and my mouth exploded with heavenly flavors. The bacon was perfect , chicken was tender and moist and the tomato and this yellow sauce ( I'm thinking they're special mustard) was the bomb! BOOM! The brown bread was amazing too. It didn't crush under my fingers like some sandwiches do cause they're lame. But it was an Explosion in my mouth. I can't explain how great our waitress was. She gave a good recommendation for the bread to use and she didn't lie that the sandwich was amazing ! Everything blended together perfectly in this sandwich. The tea was on spot too(: I can't wait to come back again. It's so worth the drive. I wish they'd get one in Fleming island. But then they'd put everyone outta business haha! Now their bakery area is nothing like the other location. More small but still wowful ( my own word haha) I bought baklava. Cause that's my favorite treat if anywhere has it. It was Alittle dry on the edges but the more I bit in the more moist it got. It was still TREMENDOUS ladies and gentlemen. This place is still around a decade later maybe longer so come one come all it's amazing (: Pros : big menu , candy/cookie bakery , cute set up, amazing staff , AMAZING food. Cons- freezing ! And to far but totally worth the drive. I'd do it again just cause it was that good! Parking can suck but it's not their fault.

I realize 3 stars is a rather harsh rating for a place with such consistenly good food/drinks, however, I'm always shocked with how bad the service here is. I will say, on my last visit, the server was friendly, but she quickly announced that it was only her 2nd day and that she couldn't really give us any guidance on what was good and what wasn't. The decor in this place gives me a headache. Come on, ES, time to update. That being said, the food is delightful. I had some kind of fresh mozzarella salad and the beer cheese soup this last time. The soup was surprisingly thick, but it was delicious. And really, it's hard to go wrong with fresh buffalo mozzarella on a bed of lettuce with almonds, tomatoes and balsamic vinegar (my mouth is watering just thinking about it). The sangria is served in a large pilsner glass... thankfully, I could literally walk home from ES, but nothing could protect me from the massive headache that ensued (especially since the server refused my several requests for a glass of water!)

Get the Beer Cheese soup with a baked pretzel. Whatever sandwich you end up ordering, smother it in their Hot Mustard. I could eat here every day, three meals a day.

I LOVE European Street! In my opinion this is the best restaurant in San Marco because it's reasonably priced and tastes amazing. My go to was the fiery turkey hero on the honey dark wheat bun. Amazing! Deli turkey, spicy mustard, jalapenos, cheese. It's all so fresh and made to order. Always served with a side of chips and a pickle. Also recommended is the pepperoni sandwich...filled with pepperoni, cheese and on the freshest ciabatta bread. I save this for when I feel I can eat really unhealthy due to it's heartiness (: They have a ton of beers and desserts to choose from as well. Of all of the European Streets parking is probably most complicated here. Street parking is sometimes necessary during peak hours. Now that the construction of San Marco Blvd. has completed it's become easier.

It seems like a little crowded in there, but they make some of the best hot sandwiches you'll taste in Duval. Reubens. Turkey Pastramis. French Dips. All that is very good there. I've been to two of the European Street Cafes and, for some reason, it seems like there are always more people sitting in the outside dining area than inside. I don't know what that means though. Maybe people don't care much for the inside? But in all honesty, I really like the inside of European Street. I like going to the little shoppe off to the side and grabbing two huge chocolate covered pretzels. I can't give European Street five stars because I'm not eating food that draws me back there day-in and day-out. But there's not much to complain about with this establishment. The wait staff is solid and nice and personable. Most of the locations have no parking issues and the price of their food is definitely reasonable. But if you're a person that constantly craves warm sandwiches, you can't go wrong going to European Street. It's solid.

I loved the ambiance and any place that has a worldly selection of beer and wine for purchase and inexpensive and tasty food, is a place for me!!!

If you are searching for a good place to catch a craft beer, have a tasty sandwich at a laid back cafe, look no further! European Street has always been a Jacksonville classic. Its market like atmosphere combined with its lengthy tasty menu makes it a perfect place to grab a meal. Not to mention they have an awesome happy hour! All their sandwiches I have tasted are top notch and I would recommend to stick with those when ordering. I have had the unpleasant experience of eating one of their salads with "fake" chicken (the kind you know did not come from a fresh chicken breast) so I would steer away from those.

This place is great for trying or buying new beers. They have an extensive list of beers from around the world. The sandwiches are pretty darn good too. I love the Brie and Beef and a good strongbow. I prefer this location simply because its so close to us!

This place has been a favorite for years, great happy hour beer and wonderful sandwiches. The crowd is very eclectic and a great place to people watch. the little market has great baked goods and hard to find specialty items. my favorite sandwich is the michael angelo, try the hot mustard it is awesome.

i honestly felt i like into europe somehow when i walked into this place. very quaint place with a bunch of mostly german specialties, or that's all i noticed. i ordered the beer and cheese soup - which honestly tasted so much better than i thought. and with the pretzel bread it was awesome!! also ordered the german smoked bratwurst. delish. happy hour specials are great too. buy one, get one free. and you can mix the beers, so i ordered two different beers - both from germany of course - to complete my missing germany dinner! i would totally come again and try something totally different, but during happy hour of course!!

Bratwurst, mustard and beers...oh, my! I was in Jacksonville on business the past week and I just ended the trip by going to ESC for the third time. Yes, I like it that much. Honestly, there is not a whole lot to dislike. Finally, a place that serves brats that aren't courtesy of Johnsonville. I haven't had good veal brats like this since I was living in Berlin. The knockwurst and red curry sauce are nothing to scoff at either. I wish I could eat like this once a week. My only complaint with the wurst is that there are no grill marks, but everyone has their own preferences. Possible one of the best parts of ESC is the beer selection. They have a good selection of imports, domestics, and hand-crafted beer on tap, and the best part is that draught beer is 2-for-1 at happy hour (2-7pm). I never took the time to partake in their vast selection of bottled beer, but I can assure you that it is beyond impressive. Also, I would recommend taking home some of the baked goods from the front counter. More than likely you won't have room for it after eating your meal. You can also take home a sixer of bottled brew if you so desire. Overall I'd say 4.5 outta 5....after all, it's not Europe.

Was here a few Saturdays ago and walked in to this quaint little place.. actually, its not that little. You're faced with their bakery/sweets as you walk in..one not without a sexy batch of chocolate covered rice crispy treats sayin "Sup?.. I know.. and YOU know." A modest library of beer lay in the northwest corner, presumably for direct purchases.. and certainly to cheer me up as decor. What I remember from the menu was several variations on rueben-type sandwiches. Server (who was awesome) greeted us and let us know that they were runnin 2 for 1's.. on their drafts. aaand their drafts are awesome.. aaaaand they let you pick a different draft for your second. I rocked me a "Blue Max": Pastrami, Corned Beef, "hot" mustard, blue cheese, swiss and the obligatory sauerkraut. If my sandwich were to fall into a bowl of liquified moth balls, i'd pull it back out and decide if I wanted to pat it down with a napkin a maximum of once or twice before finishing it.

I love the beers, the sandwiches, the baked goods, and the candies. This place has everything I could want. I went there with friends last week and we each had a beer, I even found a variety I'd been looking for for ages (it was all I'd hoped for). I don't even know how many sandwiches are on the menu here, I just know it's a lot! I had a veggie wrap that was quite tasty. I liked that they had a lot of seating and the staff was knowledgeable about the beers and the food on the menu. It's nice to be able to ask for opinions and get a good recommendation.

"Decently priced great sandwiches with alot of choices" comes to mind when I think about European Street. It's an establishement that I often take for granted until I get stomped by a place that doesn't make a good sandwich.... Then I'd think to myself, "Should've gone to European Street". I have often come here for lunch (when my work was closer) and have enjoyed every meal I've ordered. My favorite part though, is walking out and selecting a few of their GIGANTIC cookies to brighten up my otherwise boring afternoon at work....

Found on Yelp while in town on business. Parking was difficult at lunchtime, requiring slight walk down street...not too bad. Place is very old-world looking inside. Cool, a little eclectic. Seat yourself. Friendly staff. Waiter told me I should try the Blue Max sandwich. It was D Lish. Had melted blue cheese on it, and I usually do not like blue cheese...but it was awesome. Their hot mustard is great! I have a feeling all their sandwiches are good. I will be going back.

I am in love with European Street. From the over 300 International beers they offer, to the homemade candies and desserts and snacks available for purchase, or the miniature beer and wine mart attached to the restaurant, to the amazing sandwiches, soups, salads and sausages they offer... this place is a unique haven of awesomeness! I have tried almost every sandwich they offer, but it would be almost impossible to try every single thing on the menu... the menu is huge! They offer gyros, wraps, an array of German sausages, pita sandwiches, warm sandwiches, cold sandwiches, awesome salads, and delicious appetizers... oh and lets not forget the soups [MUST TRY: Beer Cheese Soup - warm and thick and cheesy]... you cannot go wrong with European Street Cafe. My favorite go to items are the Southwestern Chicken Wrap [love the warm Monterrey Jack cheese and jalapenos!], the Ciabotta and Boursin sandwich [olivey, veggie goodness and the Boursin cheese is smooth and salty], or the Beer Cheese soup with a pretzel stick. Although everything is really pretty delicious. Great all across the board. Great outdoor seating with a partial view of the river and the inside turns into a stage most nights of the week for live music. Definite must try!

Pretty solid place. You'll seat yourself when you walk in the door. They have an awesome beer selection, evident from the mini beer store on the back wall of the restaurant. I went with the curry wurst. The curry of this dish consist of some curry ketchup served on the side but this was not a deal breaker as the knockwurst were good. My son had the 12 inch monster wiener and he ate the whole thing and half of my plate. The dessert selection was great- I got the lemon cream cake which was very good. The prices are reasonable and the service was cool. Don't ask to inspect the waitress' tattoos, you might get more info than you bargained for but it was worth the giggles. I recommend you give this place a shot if you are in the area.

I was surprised at the good reviews for this restaurant. I tried the beer cheese soup and although the flavor wasn't bad, the consistency was three shades away from jello. My husband had a Mediterranean beef wrap and the hummus and the beef were both dry. I also had a wrap, and while it tasted fresh, I wouldn't say it was spectacular. Normally I am a big fan of dessert, but this time we skipped it, got our check, and left. Finally, I should add that it was a bit pricey, especially for the quality of food served.

I stopped in to test out their Happy Hour, and wanted to hit them before they got to busy. I was greeted graciously by a man at the bar who was very helpful and knowledgeable of the food and beers of the restaurant. I ventured out and tried some of their various beers as I had never had a clue what half of them were. When I asked for samples of each, he had no problem giving me tastes of each one before making my decision. I went with a simple sicilian platter off of the appetizers menu and multiple beers during my visit. I am impressed with their service, taste of food, however I am not a big fan of allot of their European beers. That is no fault to them, it just isn't what my tastebuds fancy :) I would recommend this to someone if they wanted some European style food and drinks.

If you want average overpriced sandwichs then this is the place for you. I only go when I have a buy 1 get 1 free coupons. Then go between 2-6 for happyhour and get 2 for 1 beers and it is almost a deal. No grill. The muffelatta is better at park st than San Marco.

Laid back atmosphere with a huge menu of salads, sandwiches, wraps and desserts. The Hot mustard is good on everything! Everyone always mentions the beer but the desserts are the shining star here. Ask them to heat your cookie for deliciousness! Parking is a bit of a hassle with the street renovations - but totally worth the aggravation.

Many in Jacksonville recognize European Street Cafe because of the 4 locations in the area. Note that there are two European Street Cafe's on Beach Boulevard so it's easy to get confused. One restaurant is located at 5500 Beach Blvd. in Jacksonville. The other is at 992 Beach Blvd. and is considered a Jacksonville Beach location. The remaining European Street Cafes are located at 1704 San Marco Blvd. and 2753 Park Street. Due to the multiple locations, there should be one nearby no matter where you live in Jax. We recently had the opportunity to visit the Jacksonville Beach location. Here are our thoughts on the restaurant. Interior/Exterior/Ambiance: 4/5 The exterior of the building is clean and attractive. Upon entrance, it's hard to miss the large cookie jars filled with with treats and the numerous cakes inside the refrigerated case to the right. On the left there's a small bar. The dining area is relatively large with around 15-20 tables. The restaurant has a large beer and liquor selection that patrons can purchase before or after the meal. Regarding ambiance, the interior has a European feel that you might expect from the name of the restaurant. Baskets hang from the ceilings and there the bar has an attractive wood facade. Food: 4/5 During our recent visit to European Street Cafe, we ordered the pastrami rueben on rye with the Thousand Island dressing on the side. This sandwich was massive, mainly as a result of the large quantity of sauerkraut in between the slices of smoked pastrami and melted swiss. We admittedly did have to remove some of the kraut but many may prefer more. The pastrami rueben is considered one of their "Signature Sandwiches" and we recommend it. We also tried the key lime pie. The pie was good but could have been a bit creamier. It still doesn't beat the key lime at J. Alexander's but we did like it better than the key lime pie offered at French Pantry. Drinks: 4/5 One of the things European Street Cafe advertises is their large selection of beer. This is understandable considering each of the four locations has 20 beers on tap and more than 150 imported bottles. Their iced tea is also pretty good! Service: 3/5 The servers at the restaurant all seemed quite friendly. Upon entrance we informed them we had a take out order and they bagged it immediately. Also, there was no issue adding the dessert to my order. European Street Cafe continues to serve the Jacksonville community with good food and drinks and we understand why it has expanded to four locations. European Street is mostly geared towards lunch foods with their huge menu, which predominantly consists of sandwiches. Think of it as a fancy version of Panera Bread. We feel comfortable recommending the Jacksonville Beach European Street Cafe location.

Big tasty sandwiches, bigger tasty salads.I had the classic salad (with shrimp) and it was si big I am stuffed- a rare salad that can fill me up. My older sons had hero sandwiches, very tasty - but I recommend substituting fruit for the very average potato chips.

European St. is one of those restaurants where you're not sure if it's a restaurant or a bar. Both the food menu and the beer menu are equal in size (which is enormous). I've been here many times to sample both menus. There is something here for everyone. The fare consists mainly of European themed sandwiches, wraps, and clubs ranging from Middle-Eastern (tabouleh, kibbe, hummus) to French, Italian and German. No matter what your taste, you're bound to find something you like. This goes for the beer-drinker as well. European Street, by far, has the widest selection of beers I've experienced in Jacksonville. Representing beer from no less than 15 nations, there's something for everyone. This establishment even helps you keep track through their Passport Card, which is stamped whenever you try beer on their list for the first time. There's a very enticing reward to those that stamp every beer as well. I'm not going to go through what I've tried here simply for the fact that both my fingers and your eyes wouldn't survive it. You have to go for yourself for the full experience. This is a great place to meet with friends over a casual meal and a few beers. It closes relatively early for a drinking establishment (11pm) so be sure to take advantage of their happy hour that ends at 7.

I was taken here by my boss and had the Raspberry almond salad with an unsweetened ice tea. The salad wasn't bad with the nice raspberry dressing. I didn't see any almonds and the wedges of apples might have been better bite sized. The waitress had to tend to other things, so she wasn't as attentive as I would have liked. We thought she had actually forgotten us. The Kentucky pie I took with me, was very hard and not at all like I thought it would taste.

See, now this is what dining in Jacksonville is all about. Sandwiches, beer, good company, and great prices. Who could want more? The menu is diverse, but there's no sense in looking for something besides a sandwich, because you'll never make it that far into the list of food. Call it Pavlov's reaction, but right around the time your mind melts from the endless possibilities you're being provided, you'll know what you want.

We haven't found a better place in JAX for a deli Sandwich and a great micro draft beer. The service was superb, sandwiches delicious, and their array of micro, local, and draft beers out of this world. Next time we'll leave room for their cookies and deserts. Just be prepared to have to do some interesting navigating to get there as the city has dug up and closed a long section of San Marco Blvd, going west from Hwy 10.

I love this place, the sandwiches, the beer selection and the chocolate selection that tempts you while you are paying your check. We stopped there for lunch last Sunday while we were riding around on our scooters. Got a table outside, watched a little football and had some tasty sandwiches. They give you the best chips to munch on with your sandwiches. The Park St. location is just as nice. Really, stop in if you haven't been there. Happy Hour daily 2 to like 7pm, I think. Two for one. What could be better?

Delicious sandwiches, a huge beer list (with a long two-for-one happy hour), and the friendliest wait staff in town. There's little more you can ask. For years when I lived in Jacksonville, I spent many, many hours at the bar or in the restaurant (always sitting on the left side, near the bar -- you get the best service there!) And even now when I visit, I still try to work in a trip to E Street. The sandwiches -- there are dozens of varieties to choose from -- are always very fresh, and they come loaded with crispy potato chips. They're not cheap, but they aren't the most expensive sandwiches in Jax. The desserts are incredible, if you have enough room left over after. And the beer ... they have the best and the prices aren't too bad. Of all the locations -- there are four in the city -- my favorite has been the San Marco spot. It's close to the river and the patio area rocks. If you're in the neighborhood, or even if you're not, it's worth checking this place out.

I already wrote a review on the Park Street European Street Cafe, but I had to add to this one. This is probably one of my favorite places to visit in America. I LOVE ESC! I try to stop in every chance I get when I'm in FL, which is usually once or twice a year. The food is great and the beer selection is AMAZING!! The best part of it is that pretty much anything you can get for food or on tap, you can take home from the store with you. I HIGHLY suggest stopping in to everyone!!
