The food was great but the service was poor. The staff seemed to have good attitudes I think they were just understaffed. I had the clam chowder and some fried shrimp all of which were delicious. I'll go back.

This is one of the worst restaurants I have been to since being in Jax as of 2012. I had the grilled chicken breast which I am certain is not real chicken but some microwave concoction with grill lines. My friend had the chicken Alfredo which is the worst I have ever tasted, the noodles were not fettuccine noodles to begin with and I'm not exactly sure what the sauce was but it was terrible. The water was refreshing, the fried okra was ok, the baked potato was delicious, and our server was very nice. I'm never coming back, I'm only giving it 1 star because I have to.

I had the platter for one the fried fish clams and oysters were overcooked. The broiled scallops and shrimp were cold. I've eaten here a lot first time I didn't enjoy my meal. I guess the cook was having a bad night.

Soggy shrimp, cold scampi, coffee was bad. Not coming back

While the shrimp are the best thing there so are the green beans!! I am southern raised and the green beans are some of the best I've had. Their cooked with bacon....mmmmm. Although the scallops, which are the small bay ones, are a bit fishy tasting, so is the fish that comes with the lunch specials. If Iwere to have fish I'd specify what I wanted, not what just comes on the plate.

As far as "fish camp's" go Crystal River is ok. The flounder and popcorn shrimp is fresh and tasty. It's usually pretty quick. They say the green beans are good, but to me they tastes canned. The sweet tea rocks!!

I got the grilled shrimp. My shrimp was mushy, which is not an appealing texture in shrimp, nor in any grilled food. There was a mysterious orange sauce on my food that tasted like no food I've ever had before. I really wanted to like this place, but its a big NEVER AGAIN from me.

Food was terrible! My grandson ordered applesauce with his chicken tenders, and the waitress had dumped so much cinnamon in it that he could not eat it. Hey, a light sprinkle would have been plenty! My tossed green salad was wilted and not fresh at all. It was obviously more than a few days old. The waitress kindly comped the $1.99 charge for the salad. My fried pollock was over cooked and served at room temperature. It was dry and as tough as an old shoe. The fried shrimp were also over cooked and quite chewy but I got them down with a lot of cocktail sauce. I ordered unsweetened ice tea but got what tasted like watered down sweet tea. The green beans were obviously from a can, but I was so hungry I ate them anyway because they were seasoned with salt pork (watch out vegetarians!). There was trash on the floor in the aisle between the booths, and I watched as 3 servers walked by it until finally a 4th person swept it up. The light fixtures were wagon wheel shaped chandeliers, and I counted 9 blown bulbs around the small restaurant. We paid the check, but all of us went home still hungry. We won't be eating at this place again!

When my soon to be husband was making his trek across the country to relocate to the east coast he stopped at the Crystal River in Tallahassee. All I heard about for the last four months was how good their shrimp was; he just couldn't stop talking about it. He was excited when he found out they had a location in Jacksonville; he was saddened when he discovered it was in Orange Park. I live at the beach. When my sister-in-law came to town and was working at NAS Jax for a week, it gave us every excuse to take the adventure across town to meet her for dinner. When we arrived we noticed they had a fried shrimp special that evening on their whiteboard. We were definitely game. The shrimp were tender & sweet just as he described. They were a light golden brown with a soft breading. The breading wasn't as crisp as I would have preferred, but it wasn't bad. I can't describe my husband's order, because we split the special. It was 20+ shrimp! Since it came with two sides we each picked our own. I ordered the baked potato & my husband went for the collard greens. He's a sucker for good greens. Nothing special but definitely satisfying. I don't know when we'll venture that far for seafood when we have so many in our own backyard, but I wouldn't say no if we were on that side of town.
