I'm going to split the difference. The special (herb crusted prime rib) was spectacular. Fireworks exploding spectacular. How they got the flavor to permeate all throughout the prime rib without overpowering it is beyond me. Medium rare done to perfection, lovely pink center, nice cut with marbling along the sides. Can I just get an hallelujah for some herb? Now. The rest of it. The mashed potatoes were strangely light. I couldn't figure it out. They weren't terrible but they were airy. It was a taste I've had before but not one I'd had often. Then the proverbial lightbulb went off in my head. Oh. They're reconstituted mashed potatoes. WTF? $30 entree that has potato flakes as a side? I find that kinda offensive. Asparagus was fine, a bit limp but flavor was ok. I don't have any real beef with the spears. Ambiance. Love tin ceilings. Bar was central with burnished wood. Baby grand in the corner that needed some tuning with a boisterous piano player ticking the ivories with much gusto and flair (Liberace anyone?) Outdoor patio with guitar player singing and strumming pretty well from what I could hear through the window. He seemed a nice guy so I really wanted to treat his hair to a deep conditioning treatment or blast it with keratin--his hair had so much potential to be beautiful. But I digress--back to the point. It is an understated restaurant, nothing jaw dropping. It's as if they wanted the focus to be the food. Perhaps they SHOULD've focused more on the food then. Can't complain about the service. She was attentive, quick and cordial. To recap, prime rib. Super good. The rest of it. meh.,

Not worth it AT ALL!! There are so many delicious places in Jacksonville. Don't waste your time or money by going here!! We had been wanting to try this place for some time. The menu sounded amazing and the drinks sounded just as good. We sat down outside and said that we had 2 more people joining us. The waiter said ok and said to let him know when they arrived and he would push another table together so we had more room. When the others arrived, the waiter was walking by and we told him the rest of the party was here. He said "oh can you push the tables together? I'm very busy." The waiter told us to push the tables together ourselves!! He then proceeded to rush us to order because they were "very busy" that evening. However, the restaurant was half empty!! And then we waited forever for our food anyway!! Apparently the owner of the restaurant sat at the table next to us with a group of people. Needless to say, the waiter paid all his attention to him. I'm not sure which made me more mad. The waiter ignoring us once the owner sat down or the fact that it was a nice peaceful evening outside until the owner and his buddies sat outside and were so loud and obnoxious. They also got their food wayyyyy before us, even though we had a smaller group and had been there for at least a half hour or so longer than they had been there. In regards to the food.... The crab cakes and the spinach salad were good. I can't lie there. But that's where it ends. The lobster bisque is absolutely disgusting. Absolutely no lobster meat in there, it's literally just liquid and all you taste is salt. Horrible!! I wouldn't be surprised if it came out of a packet and they just mixed it with water. My fiancé ordered a steak. He ordered it medium rare. It came out rare. He informed the waiter that it was undercooked, and the waiter gave him an attitude and mumbled under his breath as he walked away. Even after it was cooked a bit more, it was not that great. Not much flavor. You can get a better steak at Outback, which is pretty darn sad. Avoid this place at all costs. It's not worth it!!

I honestly wish I could give no stars to this piece of trash establishment. I want everybody to know that NO ONE should ever support this restaurant. It all started Mother's Day 2015 and all I wanted to do was take my mother out for a nice brunch after church. I researched and reviewed many restaurants and decided to go with Corner Bistro Wine Bar based off of many reviews. I made my reservation and we arrived promptly at 1PM. First off, we weren't greeted at our table until about 10-15 minutes later (as a server and bartender, it should already be understood that a table should be greeted within 30 seconds to a minute). Upon the greeting, the server already seemed to have an attitude, and when asked questions about their menu (because we had never been there before), his responses were very short and unfriendly. After putting our entree order in, my mother asked if she could have some bread in order to take medication, of which she received the response of, "well we don't give bread." We didn't need anyone to "give" anything, it could've been paid for. My mother felt uncomfortable enough to then speak to a manager. The manager did change our server which seemed to make things feel a little better, however, the foolishness did not end there. Don't get me wrong, we were informed that our entrees would take about 20-30 minutes because of the holiday (even though there wasn't as much business as they would presume), but when the clock made it to 2:30PM and there was still no food for a simple chicken and waffles and chicken sandwich order, anyone would begin to get restless. The manager never tried to check back after all of the issues so we decided to leave. I'm normally not the type of person to complain, however, this experience was ridiculous enough to the point that I wanted to inform the General Manager or try and call a corporate office. I found out that they have no corporate office because they are independently operated. The process of even speaking to a GM took from May 2015-July 2015. Throughout that time, I've spoken to several different "managers", servers and hostesses that always had an excuse as to why the General Manager wasn't in the restaurant. Sometimes they wouldn't even know when the next time would be that he would be in the restaurant. The only person that tried to help was a gentleman named Jeff, that actually offered to send a voucher for us to return so that we wouldn't have that impression of their business, but funny enough, that voucher never came in the mail. Finally now in July, I get in contact with Mr. Andy, the General Manager of this independently owned establishment for him to tell me he doesn't believe we should get a voucher even though it was already offered from one of his managers and just continued to make excuses for the rest of his team. He thought that it was sufficient enough just to fire the server, but didn't think it was sufficient enough to respond to all of my means of contact. So, as promised, here is my review of Corner Bistro Wine Bar. The independently owned restaurant that will NEVER get further than what it is because of their service. I'm surprised that they even have the location that they have. I REPEAT, DO NOT EVEN WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY YOUR TIME.

This place has been struggling along for years and I am always surprised to learn that they're still open as my visits have been few and far between, with each experience progressively worse than the last. I came in with a friend on Saturday, May 17 at 8:30pm. The place was nearly empty. That fact, paired with my previous experiences here, should have signaled us to leave, but we decided to give it a chance as we had just left an event at a retailer in the same strip and it seemed silly drive somewhere else when we were already right there. We were greeted and seated immediately by the hostess, because as I stated, it was nearly empty. Maybe a half dozen tables and a few people at the bar. We reviewed our menus and chatted for nearly 10 minutes when we decided it was time to go--a server name came to our table. We never even got water. As we were leaving, we could hear someone yelling "did anyone ever take drinks to that table?" I can only assume that they were referring to us, but no one addressed us as we were leaving, not even the hostess who seated us, so I can't be sure. I have given this place several chances and have been disappointed every time. The food, when you're actually served any, is only OK, certainly edible, but nothing "wows." The service is always abysmal. I have purposefully sought a reservation here probably three times, the other handful of times I've visited have been because I was in the area and it was a convenient, but this last visit will be my last visit.

Came here with my partner and ordered the spinach salad---delicious!!!!! Candied pecans, Brie cheese---great combo I had the scallop and shrimp with Mac and cheese It was okay--too salty though My partner had the braised short ribs, which where shredded!!!!! That's fine if that's what you want but the menu doesn't describe shredded short ribs. It says braised. Moreover the waitress did not describe it as shredded. And when we challenged the manager, he said that braised means shredded---of course we showed him pictures to the contrary. Finally, it was not flavor full. Overall, I wouldn't return to this restaurant

I stayed at the nearby Hotel Indigo and stopped in when the chef special advertised outside intrigued me. It did not disappoint- prosciutto wrapped scallops with asparagus and Parmesan risotto. I had a lemony cocktail with raspberries and chocolate cake for dessert. All enjoyed on the breezy and comfortable patio. As a dining experience it was spectacular- and I highly recommend it!

Went there recently on a Friday night with a group to listen to Music and have a few drinks. The ambiance is good here with a large bar. Except for our group there were only a few people in the place, so it was mostly empty. The drinks were very expensive. I paid $12 for a shot of single malt Scotch and they added $2 for a splash of seltzer. I have been in hundreds of bars and restaurants in my life and have never been charged for added seltzer. NEVER! This did not sit well and for this reason alone I won't be going back. We had a few appetizers and they were expensive and just ok. The salmon was obviously Atlantic farm raised (I only buy wild Alaskan salmon). It had a whopping heap of mayonnaise on it. Given the high prices and lack of clientele and food quality, I won't return. Obviously my sentiments are shared. I think it will be closing if the owners continue with their business model. I can't give it more than 1 Star.

Directly across the street from Hotel Indego, Corner Bistro offers a very relaxed atmosphere that is complimented by soft piano music. The bar offers pretty much any type of drink you can imagine with an extensive wine list. Outdoor seating is available and the kicker to that is There is really no traffic due to location in a shopping area. I didn't get a chance to sample the food so that is the only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars Great customer service, my glass was never empty! I am a fan and Will defiantly return!!

Our experience at Corner Bistro this fine Sunday Morning has been less than fabulous to say the least. We came in for the advertised "Sunday Brunch" and ordered standard breakfast fare. The $20 Steak Scrambler with Onions, Mushrooms, & Gouda Cheese - was not a scrambler - instead they served us plain scrambled eggs, with steak pieces & mushrooms on the top. The cheese was noticeably absent. The $12 Belgium Waffle with fruit was so thin you could read the newspaper through it. We ordered a side of scrambled eggs with that, the eggs came over easy & Cold. The saving grace of our brunch at Corner Bistro were the delightful $15 Cheeseburgers that we ended up with after we sent everything back. The burgers were great, prepared medium rare as ordered, The fries were undercooked, but we ate them anyway. We had been sitting there for 45 minutes waiting for our food & we were absolutely starving. We will not be returning to the Corner Bistro at Tapestry Park for breakfast any time soon. The "Brunch at the Bistro" was not so fine after all.

The reviews are all over the place for this restaurant so I needed to check it out for myself. I've never been to Tapestry Park before and I like how all the shops are set up and how convenient it's location was to Hotel Indigo. There's parking along the main strip and a parking lot on the other side of Corner Bistro. I met a group of friends here for brunch Sunday morning. I figured it would be a lot busier than it was but then again, this probably wouldn't be a first-choice brunch place being tucked away from the main roads. The patio area was nice and clean but we decided to sit inside. Our group of 6 practically had one side of the restaurant to ourselves. The decor was nice, half-bistro, half-sports bar. The brunch menu was not extensive but I like that. I don't want a bunch of options for brunch. I poured over the menu and decided on the Sea Scallop crepes. These crepes also had shiitake mushrooms inside them and topped with bacon, tomato, and caper fondue. The crepe looked less like a crepe and more like a rolled-up pancake. It was pretty thick, but I'm not the crepe police. The dish was delish! I also had a side dish of tomato Caprese Salad which only contained cherry tomatoes, mozzarella, and balsamic vinegar. No basil, no green anything nothing else. Ok, fine, it was still good. Two of my dining companions got the Spiced Bistro Steak with Fried Eggs and Roasted Potatoes, two others ordered the Blueberry Lemon Pancakes, and the other got the Belgium Waffle with Grand Marnier Cream. All agreed the entrees were great. We've heard bad things about the service here. The only things I can "ding" them on is that one person my party didn't get a side order of potatoes with her order (this was remedied by then taking it off her bill) and we had to tell our server we were ready for our bills. I don't really consider these big enough issues to not return or give a lower rating. I'd suggest brunch here to anyone.

My intention was to go in, have a happy hour drink and dinner. I ended up leaving as soon as I finished my drink. I sat at the bar and you would think that you'd get better service but I had to look around for the bartender, request a menu and wait a while for my check. So the service was quite lackluster as well. I ordered a happy hour drink but noticed that the bartender charged me full price for my drink when I got my bill. I didn't like the feeling while I was there so I went ahead and paid my bill and left immediately. I walked out of this restaurant feeling very alienated and a bit upset.

We drove by the Corner Bistro and thought it looked promising, just what we were looking for lunch. We ordered drinks. I saw they had a Pineapple Caipirinha, but I just wanted a traditional one. We noticed that the featured drink listed vodka instead of cachaça, so we asked about that. They have to Brazillian rums and one is Pitu, I didn't recognize the other Cachaça 51. I knew the Pitu is what they use for cooking, not drinking, and I found out the 51 is just a little better. I paid $13 for this cheap drink! After we ordered, I pulled up the reviews. Eek! Methinks not. comes up quite a lot. BUT I still had high hopes. I ordered the Shrimp Pomodora and the waitress quickly pointed out that it comes with a shrimp scampi white sauce, not the traditional tomato sauce. The description says: Garlic Confit, Marinated Tomato, Bacon Lardons, House Infused Oil, and Fresh Basil on top of Cappellini Pasta with Shaved Parmesan Cheese. Lets see. Where to start. The "tomato" was a grape tomatoes that are sliced in half and were fairly al dente, the sauce had kind of an off taste to it which I credited to whatever white wine they used. The basil was fairly non-existant except for the top leafs for garnish in the center of the dish. There was absolutely NO parmesan let alone "shaved" parmesan. The shirmp were 2 different sizes (see photo). The worst crime, the thing I was really looking forward to the most, was the Bacon Lardons. Almost microscopic pieces of bacon were present in the dish and it looked more like plain, ordinary bacon with the pieces containing the fat. The waitress asked what I thought. My thought is if a restaurant is claiming they are using bacon lardons, then it should look like lardons, with larger pieces of bacon to highlight the dish. Otherwise it looks like you are trying to pass ordinary bacon off as lardons. Also, I had to ask for extra sauce as there was virtually none. My husband had the Southern Bistro Burger. It's description stated: 8 oz. Angus Beef Patty with a Vidalia Sweet Fried Onion Ring, Pecan Wood Smoked Bacon, Habanero Jack Cheese and House Made Barbecue Sauce. Last time I checked, Vidalia onions are white, not the red onion ring he got! We also asked if the french fries were made in-house, but we forgot to ask if they were made fresh! The bun was sad, but the fries were horrible steak fries. Pretty sure those are frozen ones from Restaurant Depot. He had a Moscow Mule $10 that was in the traditional copper mug. He thought it was just ok. We won't be coming back, especially when there are so many more fabulous restaurants at St Johns Town Center just 2 1/2 miles away!!

My parents just called me from there. I bought them a Living Social ticket so that they could enjoy their food and try a new place for a good price. The Host immediately greeted them with an attitude. He embarrassed them and responded very loudly with "We don't accept coupons on Holidays!" Ok, fine. But did you have to respond to them in such a rude and demeaning manner? And LOUDLY? I have never written a review before in my life, honestly because I have never felt so strongly passionate about it. I would NOT recommend this place, purely because it is clear to me that they do not understand customer retention or even common courtesy.

Well, I don't want to say it was a negative experience given I went on a Wednesday night and it was a slower evening for the Corner Bistro Wine Bar. I was looking forward to their infamous "piano man" live set that I have heard so much about. Which we got lucky, because around 10-11pm we got to hear some lovely live piano music. We ordered the Herbed Chicken Fettuccine and it was delicious! Also, we ordered the Corner Bistro Cocktail that had blueberries so that was awesome. The "Perfect Pair" was also good, but if you're a pear lover it wasn't a strong taste of pear - mostly just fruity and yummy. Definitely a fun place to become a local, as their crowd seemed to consist of locals on a Wednesday night. The server and bar staff was accommodating and friendly - just had to get them to loosen up with us and then it was a lot of laughter and better yet, some wine tasting.

I never had any reason to go back to this hellhole, but got suckered into meeting a friend there for a drink. I should not have been surprised that it still sucks. Actually, I think it sucks more now that it's had some time to hit the bottom and hang there for a while. The bar stools were so badly cracked that the stuffing was coming out. I made a joke about it, which the bartender had clearly heard before and was not amused. He proceeded to be a jerk and ignore us, even though he had no one else to serve. The place was uncomfortably hot, and it stayed hot even though we asked for them to adjust the temp. So they are clearly trying to save money by cutting corners. If I had any doubts about that, it was confirmed when I got the bill for my martini and saw that they actually charged separately for garnish. Yup, that's right. It was like an extra dollar for a freaking olive. Unbelievable. I complained. It didn't matter. I hear the owners are eccentric whack-jobs and the place is probably a front operation for God-knows-what. This place is a great candidate for ending up on one of those restaurant rescue shows where they expose incompetent management and filthy kitchens. It's these kinds of places that make a compelling case for Yelp to allow zero stars, because you know, some places just deserve it.

I contemplated my decision on visiting this place for lunch and it was just so mediocre .. While the decor appeal to the upper middle class folks, however, the services itself seems like it belong to a dive bar. Our waitress was blunt while the receptionist was warm. Our waitress filled up our cups constantly when she's not twirling her hair and giggling at the bartender's corny jokes. Food served 40 minutes after it was ordered during lunch and cold. I didn't get my correct sides and ate the cold tacos in my car while sitting at a red light. I wouldn't go back.

Visited here for happy hour on a week day. This bistro is very classy with large selection of wine. I had the house wine merlot and French onion soup which were both good. The service was quick and attentive. Only thing I did not like was the server did not mention happy hour specials to the whole party. I had to ask to get the info. Other than that, I would return. I hope to go back for dinner when the piano is being played.

I've been back to Corner Bistro twice since my original review and for those that weren't so please with their meal, I can understand where they're coming from. While we had a good experience and don't have any server horror stories to share, our wallet didn't have as good a time. It's good food. The scallops I had were seared just right. The truffle oil aroma in my lobster mac & cheese was definitely noticeable, but the taste wasn't overwhelming as others have indicated. My husband enjoyed his salad. And our dining mate enjoyed her short ribs. We did warn her, but they were quite rich. Still spoon tender as I remembered them being previously. I think they highlight - food wise - of our evening was the Wasabi Ahi Tuna appetizer we shared in the bar while waiting for my husband to come from work. The tuna was seared just right and the wasabi/mustard sauces played well with each other. Service was good - not amazeballs outstanding - but nothing to complain about. I wouldn't say no if someone invited me out to dinner, but like I thought before I probably won't frequent as often unless we have a little extra after the bills are paid.

I never thought I'd give a restaurant 1 star but when you're laughing after the first bite of food you don't really have a choice. my boyfriend and I bought a groupon for here which was warning sign number 1 and the fact that it wasn't very crowded at 7 on a Saturday evening didn't bode well either but we decided to give it a shot. our food was cold, utterly tasteless, and just very low quality overall. in fact, we took one bite of our meals (the grilled chicken dish) and decided to leave immediately. we both could not stomach to eat any more. thankfully out waiter took both meals off of our bill without us even asking, but i honestly would not have even eaten this for free- no exaggeration.

The food was not good at all. The service was pleasant at best. I was expecting much more, especially with the prices. My steak was very tough and tasteless. This place has much potential due to location and decor. I was very disappointed.

Atmosphere is nice, service good. The drunken fool who plays the piano and thinks he's a gift to that place ruins it. This isn't a comedy club. Keep your drunken sloppy rude comments to yourself. Some people are trying to enjoy their evening. Where is bar rescue when u need it. The comment that was made in reference to my wife was. "The one in the fucking headdress". My wife was wearing a headwrap and not singing the song that he was playing. I was beside myself with rage! Extremely unprofessional and ignorant! Paid my tab and left before I took it upon myself to re arrange some of their furniture.

My boyfriend and I came here once for their Sunday brunch. I ordered the egg white omelette with spinach, tomatoes, and mozzarella and a side of breakfast potatoes. I didn't enjoy my omelette due to the juice from the grape tomatoes causing the egg whites to slip and slide and fall apart. I also wish the portions were larger for the price. However, I will applaud their bottomless mimosas! Our server was also very nice.

My husband and I went here for Easter brunch. I ordered the bottomless sangria which was really strong and I was only able to drink two glasses. I ordered shrimp and grits with bacon and maple syrup....its was beyond amazing. Our waiter did not know then menu very well and was not able to answer most questions so we had to ask the bartender a few things. My husband ordered a bloody mary and was impressed with how good it was. In addition he ordered a steak and cheese omelet that was amazing as well. The place was almost empty when we got there but started filling up at about 1pm. Corner Bistro is very clean and has a high end ambience so dressing up a bit is a must. I wore a nice dress and my husband wore khakis and a polo shirt.

You know as far as high end food goes - it's not THE greatest. But - if you're going for an upscale place to meet business partners or just enjoy a nice evening with your significant other, this is a great place. lots of times they have live music and decent drink prices. I only ordered the appetizer of calamari while I was there last time (I've had dinner there before and it wasn't spectacular.) But the sauce for the calamari was too sweet and I would definitely not order it again. A little hidden gem of this place is that they have a limo service for free as a customer. So, if you and some girlfriends want to have dinner and drinks there and then go out - their service will take you, NO CHARGE!! They also have $12 bottomless Sangria/Mimosas for brunch on Sundays. That and then take the limo to the beach sounds like a perfect idea. All in all, I would come back again.

Have eaten here twice in the last two weeks. Both times the service and the food were very good. Everyone at the table was happy with their meal.Reason it is not 5 stars as the menu is a little bit limited. Other than that, solid spot. Have yet to hear the piano player but will make an effort to return for that given my pleasant experiences so far.

I've really TRIED to like this place, but every time the service disappoints me. They are very polite, but the wait times are always way too long. I'm consistently asking them 2-3 times for small things that should automatically be noticed by an experienced server. The food quality is good even though I do feel it is a bit overpriced for dinner. They have a great brunch, but on average it takes a two top at least an hour and fifteen minutes for brunch, and that's way too long in my book. If they can get their service staff and price on point, it could do way better. Probably why I always see Groupons for them.

Worst service ever!!!!! Such a shame because the food is really good. I would say that maybe they had an off day service wise - but if you go to Yelp - they have issues. Started off with an unfriendly server. Ok, maybe he's having a bad day. Went to another server passing us asking if we would like our check. No, it's not time for my check - I haven't received my food yet. Just wanted to check on my soup since the person dining with me received his custom crab cake order that is only available at dinner. Surely the soup is on and ready right. Besides myself and my son were the only people in the restaurant other than a group outside on the patio. Then came my sandwich I bit into - very tasty - until the third bite and then it hurt. What can hurt from a sandwich? Shards from the thick toothpick. Didn't see that one coming. Laid the two pieces on my plate and called the server to tell him just so they could be aware. He wanted them to show the chef. I said sure and reached for a napkin but before I could get it he reached on my plate and grabbed them. Urgh! I decided to them how bad the service was at the end when they charged me an automatic 18% on my bill for a tip. The first thing the server said was "we are short handed today"!!! We were the only two in the entire restaurant except the group on the patio that was leaving!!!! I knew better to ask for a lid for my to go cup, but wait - I did - Guess what? No lids. What a shame. I wish the owner or manager would take a look at all the bad reviews and get some awesome servers so I can go back.

I've been coming here for over six months now, haven't had a bad dish yet. Very creative and delicious menu. The only thing frozen was the ice in my drink, everything else is fresh made in there, you can taste the difference right away even when you take it home and reheated. Very unique place for Jacksonville, it's more of a New York experience, as far as I know this is the only place in town that provides a limo ride home (on the house) when you have to much wine at the piano ;)

I went here for lunch with my coworkers and while the decor is nice the food was simply ok. I felt that the meals were overpriced for the quality. We went around 2:30 pm to avoid the lunch rush and although the restaurant was not full we waited an extremely long time for our food. Our waiter was very pretentious and we constantly had to ask for things throughout our time there.

My experience at Corner Bistro was so bad it was comical. I went with a friend and we were told there would be a 15 minute wait for a table so we went to the bar to grab a drink. I ordered a jack and coke which I'm quite certain was Evan Williams--not surprising since another friend and I had stopped by for a week before and they gave her Smirnoff instead of Stoli--but of course still charged for Stoli. We were seated quickly and didn't see our waiter for at least 20 minutes. We didn't mind too much because we were having an enjoyable conversation. He stopped by at probably the 20 minute mark, apologized, and said he'd be over as soon as he could--which was another 10 minutes. At that point we ordered drinks. 10 minutes go by. He comes back and asks us again what our drink orders are. Another 15 minutes. Finally he returns and we order. We decide to split the Shrimp and Scallops, which is described as Scallops and 16/20 shrimp, lobster mac and cheese, and asparagus. FORTY FIVE MINUTES LATER. A dish is set on the table. I thought it was a complimentary appetizer for our ridiculous wait. Oh no, oh no. This was our meal. Two medium sized scallops, four shrimp, four pieces of asparagus, and a cup of mac and cheese. FOR THIRTY TWO DOLLARS. The meal honestly wasn't large enough for one person, let alone two. We questioned the waiter about it, as we had thought we would be getting 16-20 shrimp. He explained this meant 16/20 per pound--so why not just call it 4/5 of a pound? Obviously they were being intentionally misleading. The waiter said this has happened before and offered to put another order in on the fly, but my friend stated we didn't want to pay another $32 for such a small plate, to which he made a gesture that said we weren't getting it for free. The waiter was very apologetic--the manager was another story. He came over and very defensively said "What's the problem?" My friend explained the issue and said it was misleading, on top of the fact that we had waited a very long time, to which the manager replied that he'd never had that complaint before and that they were very busy due to the holidays. He said it was one of their most popular dishes and maybe we just didn't realize how hungry we were. Not even a semblance of an apology. He stated "Whatever, I'll take 50% of the bill" and walked away. Another 10 minutes. My friend finally ended up going over to the bar and asking somebody to bring us our check so we could just get out of there. We will never be back.

Had a drink there only, good service, nice place with amazing back ground jazz/blues music. Outside it has a nice walk with a little lake. Great place to take someone special on a date. :)

We stopped in for drink a few days ago (7/31) before meeting our party of 7 at another restaurant nearby and found that the place was relatively tranquil with diners near the windows and an oval bar dominating the center of the space. We chatted with the bartenders and had 2 rounds before departing. Looking for some place to visit after dinner at Kan-Ki in the Tinseltown area, we took our party back to this venue for another round of drinks. We were celebrating my girlfriend's birthday, so the drinks and shots started to blur at the edges. As it turned out, the piano player's birthday was the same day and we worked our way to meeting everyone at the bar. The bartenders, James and Zack, performed their roles masterfully to the delight of my party, which had added people on to it whom we had just met. One drink James created tasted like a Blueberry lemonade and that wowed us to no end. While I did not eat there, I would like to return here and try that too.

I can not believe these people. They purposly ruined our wedding party; they purposly tried to ruin this event. They knowingly double booked our event. They purposly saboutaged the party with the owner's billigrent rude guest crashing the party. And finally, the manager of all people threw a full tray of shots all over the bride ruining her outfit and wedding night. Unacceptable ! How can they get away with this!?! These people are horrible monsters who get their payment upfront so when they knowingly destroy your event they don't have to worry about the repercussions. Save yourself and your wallet the trouble. Don't eat here!

We didn't get to eat at the restaurant, but Corner Bistro catered dinner for the last night of our 3-day lecture series in a separate facility down the street. We were offered a one of two salads, two meat entrees, and two dessert choices (see photos for reference). Of course, we all shared and all selections were delicious. The servers and bartenders were as professional and courteous as they could be to 50 young clinical interns. I would recommend their catering services to anyone looking to host in the area. Best part: you wouldn't have to clean up after!

Recently went back to Corner Bistro for dinner, hoping to make myself a fan, but unfortunately, walked away pretty disappointed. Our previous visit had some hits and misses, so we wanted to return to the restaurant and try some other dishes, especially since our first visit, half the dishes we wanted to try, weren't available. First off, the service. We had a server that was trying to be nice and friendly, but I don't know if it was due to inexperience, but he was so awkward. Half the time, I couldn't understand him because he was mumbling and the restaurant was quite loud. He took our orders, served us appetizers, then came back and asked if we wanted bread. Which we were both confused... why wouldn't he just bring the bread basket? But instead, goes into this detail about what the bread is like and if we wanted any. My husband at first, thought it's because the bread is a menu item? But it wasn't. So that was just weird. We had loved the tuna entree last time, so we decided to get the ahi tuna appetizer. Which was still pretty good (only thing we enjoyed). My husband ordered the short ribs, which was cooked nicely, but a bit under seasoned, just not very exciting. The disaster though, was my scallop & shrimp entree. When the scallop & shrimp entree came out, I was a little surprised at how it was plated. It's a plate with the truffled oil lobster mac & cheese in the middle with a good sized ramekin (i.e. not a tiny one), with 2 scallops and 2 clusters of 2 shrimp on each corner of the plate with asparagus criss crossing between them. Ok... hrmm is that suppose to be appealing? Am I suppose to turn the plate as I eat each corner of the scallop and shrimp that should have been the 'stars' of the plate? Anyways, that's just minor though, nothing a simple swift removal of the mac & cheese ramekin can't solve. The 4 shrimp were good. The 2 scallops were a little under cooked, so I wasn't a big fan, but was still able to eat them. The biggest problem I had was the truffled oil mac & cheese. First off, I like dishes with truffle oil. I've had many dishes before and liked them. This one, I could only take two bites and had to stop. The truffle oil overpowered everything. It smelled and tasted so strongly, I thought my neighboring table might also be 'enjoying' it with me. My husband and I both thought that someone in the kitchen probably accidentally dumped a cup of truffle oil instead of adding a few drops of it... It was suspiciously brothy too. I asked the server about it, hoping he can check with the kitchen, basically told him I couldn't eat this lobster mac & cheese at all. He responded something to the effect of maybe I just don't like or can't handle truffle oil... We asked for the bill and left, not wanting to stay any longer even though I was still hungry and probably would have stayed and ordered a dessert if we weren't so disappointed. I have to add though, that the server was trying to be nice. Even the possibly offending comment about what I like or dislike, he was trying to be friendly, but very inexperience and awkward. For a restaurant that is more in the pricy / fine dining, the service and food leave much room for improvement.

I can't give this restaurant less stars, although I wish I could. We had a large wedding party which the restaurant was entirely bought out for. Not only did they break their contract with our party in the middle of the event by letting other patrons in to our private party, they also allowed the other invading patrons to get belligerent and confrontational. The cowardly manager hid from us and then preceeded to call the police on paying customers! For the amount this party cost we should have been afforded some common decency. How dare these people. Don't go here! Give their competition your money not these yellow amateurs.

I've been to this place twice, and each time, I was left with a dissatisfied feeling. The food was mediocre each time I've gone. Setting and atmosphere can be praised... Somehow, the service, I've found to be very lacking each time. Today, for brunch, we were seated outside, from the moment we sat down to the time we were able to pay for our dinner and leave was almost 3 hours----- and they were not very busy!!! It took forever to be able to place a drink order and it took even longer to get the drink!!!! That seemed to be the case for every step of the way! So... Food is ok, service is Bleeehhh!

I think you can tell a lot about a place when the owner is not only present and working, but also remembers their customers! The owner remembered details of our conversation from when I was there TWO years ago, and sent me a glass of wine after we talked. Classy. Great decor and ambiance. I wouldn't miss an evening around the piano at The Corner Bistro on a trip to Jacksonville.

Went for the first time on a early Thursday evening before the crowd. I was met by the most genuine sincere, nicest waitress ever, Jamie. I was dining alone, and was made to feel very comfortable. Started with a great French white Bordeaux by the glass after she had given me a sample. Ordered the calamari at the same time as the wine and they came out together. Calamari was hot, lightly battered with a very complementary marinara sauce. Crab cakes came next paired with perfectly spiced Sriracha sauce and basil creme aioli. The food was wonderful and the service, one of the best. The chef came out to say hello and treated me to his dessert of the night, a lemon, cranberry, basil cake like muffin with reduced pomegranate sauce. It was perfect. The "muffin" was a moist cake like texture with lemon curd inside paired with the cranberries and fresh basil. It was a very pleasant evening and one I hope to enjoy again, soon

I came here for a private catered dinner for about 40+ people. They had salmon, filet, and chicken on the menu. I tried both the filet and the chicken, both of which were very ehh. The chicken wasn't dry, which was a plus. The filet was unremarkable, I cannot even remember anything about it even though it was 2 days ago. The desserts presented were tiramisu and cheesecake. Both of which were good, but not outstanding. I have no idea how much the food costs, but if it really is $$$, it isn't worth it!

I have eaten at corner bistro twice. Once my sister and I went for lunch and the second time I took my uncle out for his birthday. I enjoyed it so much the first time I had already decided it would be a great place to take my uncle. We uncle and I both ordered the salmon and thoroughly enjoyed it. My aunt who is very picky and isn' t much of a foodie(unlike my sister and I)just picked a salad with chicken but had no complaints. Since I am gluten free and don't eat meat, my choices are more limited when it comes to food, but salmon is one of my top choices when eating out for dinner. The salmon was cooked to perfection, just like I ordered it, yes they ask how you want it cooked. That was a first for me. But it came perfectly grilled. For dessert both times I got the creme brulee which was delicious, luscious and just melted in my mouth . The first time since my sister and I were celebrating and had a groupon, so we splurged on the sampler. There was a hazlenut one, one with bacon and a vanilla. By far the vanilla was my choice for favorite, my sister really liked the one with bacon and my uncle and split a vanilla one which was as good as the first time. Yes it is a bit pricey, but for a nice dinner and ambiance or a place to celebrate something special, it is a nice place to come. If you pick the right time you can even enjoy the piano player, which I have yet to hear since we went earlier in the evening.

I love this place. The ambiance is so lovely with a gorgeous piano in the front of the restaurant. We went for Sunday Brunch and it was a perfect fit! We had the mimosas which were delightful and chose the Crab Cake Eggs Benedict for our brunch choice. I cannot even describe the taste of the Benedict in other words than amazing!! It was cooked perfectly and the hollandaise sauce was mixed just as well. It was accompanied with breakfast potatoes which were tasteful however I would have liked a larger portion of them. The only negative that we saw was that we were one of the only 3 tables present during our time there. I'm not sure if that is a good or bad thing, however we completely enjoyed our brunch and will absolutely be returning.

Food was sufficient. Nothing spectacular. Our service was subpar. They have zero vegetarian entree options and nothing vegan. I had the caprese and it was good. I do love the decor. With so many options in Jacksonville, I probably wouldn't return.

I'm generally pretty pleased with the food. The "salmontini" appetizer is delicious -- smoked salmon with avocado and a dill dressing. Although a spinach salad with bacon dressing isn't new or innovative they certainly do it well. The filet with mushroom risotto is good but I'm really a fan of the ribeye. Sunday brunch is where they really shine though. Crab cake benedict, steak & eggs, roasted pork with gouda grits, blackened fish with a fried egg, ... I've never been disappointed with their brunch offerings. And $6 each for a bloody mary or unlimited mimosas for $10 is the icing on the cake. The only real down side is that the service can be pretty hit or miss. Sometimes you'll get a great server who's really on top of things and other times service is awkward or slow. Overall this is a solid place that's worth keeping in our regular rotation.

I've been in Jacksonville,FL for a week and I couldn't wait to start exploring some restaurants around the area (I'm originally from NYC). i came here for a business dinner with a few business clients and we ordered a bunch of appetizers (crab cakes, ahi tuna, chicken lettuce wraps, calamari). Everything was OK. Nothing tasted bad, but nothing wowed me either. For my entree I got the shrimp and scallops. The lobster truffle mac and cheese had that great truffle aroma, but it was swimming in pure cream. I like my mac and cheese with more consistency.. and a bit more lobster- i just got a very tiny claw! The shrimp itself was a little bit overcooked but the scallops were perfect. I would say this place is OK, nothing to spectacular. Will most likely return, but only if the company is paying for it! :)

This isn't your average Jacksonville restaurant. Sure, they have seafood here, but that's as far as the similarities go. Corner Bistro Wine Bar is a comfortable, warm, and welcoming restaurant in the Tapestry Park area. The food and service were both very good. I had the miso marinated salmon and it was delicious. Served with rice and grilled bok choy it was perfectly cooked and I devoured it. The server was attentive, but didn't bug me too much, a tough line to walk when I'm eating alone and reading a book. I didn't see Corner Bistro Wine Bar even close to busy any of nights I was in town. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area on a weekday night. I suspect they are pretty busy Friday and Saturday night.

Wow, I can not begin to quantify the level of incompetence this management and the staff showed on my visit. They severly befouled an event I was a part of this evening. This wedding party, that was planned many months in advanced and payed for upfront, was not only botched by this bush-league owner, manager, and staff but also made worse by the manager's hiding from the issue and ensuing meltdown. How are you a manager of this assumed, high-class establishment? I've seen better leaders at fast food joints! This was just unacceptable behavior. And, on top of all of this, this amateur called the police on our entire party! I couldn't believe it. For the amount of money spent on this once in a life time event to end with the police being called. How could this have been allowed? What a horrible experience for the close to a hundred guest and newlyweds.

The food and the service was really great the first time I went so I went again to try another dish that looked interesting. I have to say, I'm not sure if this gentleman was management or the owner( couldn't have been the owner, their still in business) but he knew as much about customer service as I do walking on the moon. This place has a lot of potential but management needs a swift kick in the rear.... or a complete overhaul.

Really a nice place, good service, live music several nights a week. My main issue is with wine bars in general. I am cheap. I mean I freaking came here on a groupon ($40 for $20 if you were wondering). As I enjoy my $40 bottle I decide to look it up at Total Wine (because I am also a tool) and see it is a whopping $8.99. $40 for an $8.99 bottle of wine trust me the service wasn't that good. Oh well, I am sure the food is good and where else can you have a drink as someone plays piano? I would give it 4 stars if I was also pretentious but I am only cheap and a tool.

We were supposed to go to Ovinte, but they had a 2 1/2 hr wait. So we went to the charming Corner Bistro. Piano man playing, fabulous wine & cocktail list, cozy atmosphere and excellent service. It was great for a first date!

A friend and I went once and it was okay - not great, but not bad, and in a good location. When we returned, I arrived before my friend and asked to wait to order until she arrived. She got in, we chatted and looked over the menus, and a gentleman brought us water. After trying repeatedly to catch our waiter's attention, we realized it had been 20 minutes since she had arrived, and he still had not even taken our drink order. There is no dearth of good (and great) restaurants in the area, so with lackluster food and absent service, I am not sure how long this place will stay open. You can explore a bit and find some wonderful alternatives, both chain and locally owned, with better food, service and quality. I'm afraid I can't recommend Corner Bistro, and will not be returning.

My fiance and I went here for a special date night. We had reservations for 8:30 p.m., but tables were slow and we were asked to wait a few minutes. After about 15 minutes of waiting at the bar, the hostess came over and bought us a free appetizer for our patience. We had the calamari and it was awesome. They bread their own calamari and serve it lightly sauced with garlic butter and cherry peppers. If there is anything I have learned about ordering cocktails at a bar is to order the house specials or ask the waitstaff who will always lead you in the right direction, which is exactly what occured this night. My first recommended drink, a basil and grapefruit vodka house specialty was clean, crisp and very refreshing. My dinner cocktail, again based on recommendation, was a cucumber and rosemary muddle with gin and it was also very good. My personal favorite, a dirty martini, I ordered later in the evening and did not love it. Way too dirty. Lesson re-learned; always trust guidance from the people who know! For dinner, I ordered the scallops with asparagus and lobster mac. The sauces on the scallops and bacon vinagrette over the asparagus was amazing. I have been dreaming about going back for the lobster mac and cheese since we left. My fiance had the short ribs and they were cooked fantasticly; the outside was seared well but the insides were moist and tender. Again, the tomato cream sauce was AMAZING. Our shared desert, creme brulee was awesome; well caramelized and served with a caramel drizzle and fresh blueberries. Other than the wait for reservations, we had an amazing experience and dinner and I will be a Corner Bistro frequent diner. Four forks up for this one!

If I could give it 0 stars I would. This place was such a waste. The worst brunch experience EVER! The service was crappy, food came out burnt, we had to ask for napkins...the list goes on! Never Again!

Had a Groupon, the waitress was very negative towards that...said it expired yesterday, but actually expired 2 months in the future!...she continued to be rude and in attentive through out the visit. The lobster bisque should be called a soup...watery!!.....the ahi tuna salad had no taste...the hummus with the salmon burger had no taste...the burger was good though...conclusion: we will not be back!

Last stop on way back to Charleston from 3 weeks of travel in FL & MX~This place is super cool place to perch @ the bar in the afternoon if you're staying in the area or have the treat of staying @ Hotel Indigo a few steps away YUM! . The 'Bartender Boy' is a seasoned local that has enjoyed much travel in his young years but has JAX roots so grounded that he makes most Concierges & Cruise Line Wine Stewards want to rethink their game. It would be a once a week venue for me if I lived there & it'll be my 1st stop when I am area again. If you stop there to perch tell him that "Sugar & Sugar said Hey" If you happen to be into music & concert venues-He's like an old friend but with great grub & fab wine...

I have been here several times. I would have given it 5 stars, had it not been for my last couple visits. I feel like the management is starting to get a little too slack. The bartenders do not know anymore what is behind the bar or on the menu. But on to the positive notes. It is fresh, yummy, somewhat innovative dishes and a very large selection for liquor or wine. Their happy hour is awesome, especially at lunch, and the owners and managers are usually around and quite friendly. This place is perfect for lunch or apps. I just wouldn't risk going for a great dinner.

I went on a Saturday afternoon just to sit and have a couple glasses of wine and read my book. Being one of 3 three people at the bar, I assumed service would be done in a timely manner. Wrong! I was nearly through half of a chapter before someone came to take my order. I ordered a malbec which was of good quality. Their selection overall was good; being a native Californian I was pleasantly surprised to see a number of wines from my home town:) I wish I could have tried a few but, after having to wait for nearly 20 min for my first order to be taken, I didn't want to risk another lengthy wait.

my wife and i traveled to this new restaurant located just off of Southside Bl and JTB in the new area called Tapestry Park. it sits just adjacent to the Hotel Indigo. first, my wife actually retrieved a $50 coupon for this restaurant on restaurants.com . the coupon was valid for $50 off the entire bill provided that the bill is at least $100; the coupon itself was purchased for $4 so we saved about 50% on our total bill. with that background, i have to say i have been to a lot of fancy places in my travels and career, and this place makes it to near the top of my list. my wife had the waitress recommended shortrib, and i had the rack of lamb. we also ordered a bottle of wine from the wine list. unfortunately, the $45 bottle of wine that i selected from the list was not available, so they gladly upgraded our selection to a $65 bottle but only charged us for the $45 bottle (VERY CLASSY!). we also had an appetizer of calamari. the food at this quiet little corner restaurant was EXQUISITE! the lamb was cooked just right as i requested, the sides that came with the dishes were out of this world, and the shortrib plate that my wife ordered was so tender you could cut the steak portions with a fork. the wine from the bottle was excellent, and the atmosphere on a Tuesday night was lively, yet quaint. the waitress also notified us that there is a live piano player at the restaurant on Friday and Saturday nights. definitely would like to try the place out during the weekend. i gave this place a 4 stars because of the excellent service, the great tasting food, and great atmosphere and location. parking is abundant in tapestry park by comparison to the towncenter. the reason i didnt give this place a 5 star, is because of the price. although we had our $50 coupon, had we gone to this place without any discounts and paid full price, the meal amount was $120. i'd say the wine and entrees were VERY VERY good, but i dont know if i would pay full price at Ruth's Chris prices. nevertheless, i would consider this place one of the best upscale places in town, without the upscale snootiness and environment. just be sure to bring a $50 coupon with you and spend right at $100. this will offset the slightly over priced nature of the entire meal.

I went with several friends when one of them had a groupon for the bistro. The food was a bit pricy, but almost worth it. At 8pm on a Friday, the venue was a bit small for someone to come in and start plating the piano as the bistro became louder and louder. I might go again, if prompted, but not on a Friday night.

Corner Bistro is a chic and sophisticated wine bar in Tapestry Park. As I entered, I felt like I was back at one of my old favorite wine bars in Chicago, called Cru Wine Cafe. The atmosphere was more mature than the Jax Beach crowd. The seating area, including the bar area, is comfortable yet polished. My only beef is that the bar seating was not quite tall enough for the bartop. Or perhaps, I'm too short? :) They have a well thought out by the glass wine list, as well as a great bottle selection. I thoroughly enjoyed my Willamette Valley Pinot Noir, served at a perfect temperature for me (just a tad cool). We were there for Happy Hour, which includes half off appetizers. My friend and I shared the Mussels Provencal, which were cooked in white wine and served atop a bed of spicy marinara and 2 large crostinis. They were really delicious, especially the sauce! The service was great--not too in our face, but readily available. I have to admit, they have a very attractive bar staff! I look forward to returning soon. They have a full menu, for lunch and dinner. They also have a Sunday brunch. We lack in Sunday brunch options on the Southside, so I'm especially excited to try that out!

So my wife did a food review of this place a couple weeks ago for buzz magazine. Everything I saw and read about this place was accurate. We decided to try their valentines dinner and oh what a home run. Nothing we had was less than exceptional. Good food and good service.

To start - food is awesome. Sat outside and the atmosphere would have been great if it wasn't all the light from the large TVs ruining the nice evening dinner atmosphere. Not exactly the type of place I expected tvs setting a glow to everyone - especially since our large group were the only ones outside and we asked the tv's to be turned off...we were told no. Also no decaf espresso available (what is that?). To top it off, service was..interesting. Our waiter kept commenting how he'd rather be drinking and wouldn't stop talking. Way too much really...our party didn't have the chance to catch up with each other without him butting into the conversation. It was really odd...

Had lunch there this afternoon, and was not impressed with the food. The atmosphere was nice, though a bit snooty. I had the lamb wrap, which sounded amazing, but is was just so so. The waiter seemed overworked and flustered, yet there was only a few tables with customers. It appears to be mainly an after work hangout for yuppie types. Which is fine, but the food simply isn't worth the price you pay for the ambience. It's an ok place, but I'd rather go to Seven Bridges or Mellow Mushroom so I can feel at home with friends and good food. It's just an uncomfortable place for me.

First time at the Corner Bistro. Made reservation for Brunch on Sunday even though we found reservations were probably not necessary as they had tables open. We ordered the Filet Omelet with caramelized Onions and Boursin cheese and the crab cakes benedict. We also order a side of breakfast potatoes and a tomato Caprese Salad. I have to say everything was extremely tasty and excellently prepared. We for sure will be returning for bruncn and plan to also try lunch and dinner in the near future.

This is the third time we have visited this restaurant (and it will be the last.) Each time our bill for two was over $100. Tonight the bread and butter both had either freezer burn or refrigerator taste to them (ugh.) The tomato mozzarella salad was ok. Main courses of shrimp and scallops w/lobster mac was uninspiring. Two scallops and 4 small shrimp with what tasted like Old Bay seasoning...come on you can do better than that. The lobster mac had a very strange taste to it. Thought it might be sherry but sherry would have tasted good! Tuna was ok but the onions took over the entire space with smell--overwhelming. Key lime dessert was more whipped cream than anything else. When we got in the car we looked at each other and said at the same time "never again."

Worst brunch ever!!! Had to send food back 3 times. Food came out cold. Served food to wrong table then took it back and gave it to us after it had been cut into. When we sent it back for new ones they just reorganized the pancakes so the pancake that was cut into was on the bottom. Lemon blueberry pancakes and waffle not good. Waffle overcooked. Kept giving us decaf instead of regular coffee. Had to constantly ask for refills and they had to make a new pot every time, and it was NOT busy, even on Mother's Day. Egg white omelette was only good thing we ordered. Salmon and eggs would have been good had it not been left under the heating lamp so long. No changes or substitutions to the menu, because after 3 attempts waffles still had whipped cream on them :(. Staff very unprofessional heard the F word out of waiters more than once. Manager going over receipts in bathroom and wouldn't move so you could wash your hands. Staff in ripped tshirts and cargo shorts. Just not the ambiance we expected either. Decor was nice. Just Terrible service overall.

My mother and I went to Corner Bistro for dessert and drinks one night while staying at the Aloft Hotel nearby, and ended up going back the next night for dinner, because we enjoyed it so much. It's a little pricey, but the food and drinks were great. Our drinks were fantastic, and the dessert, while not amazing, was certainly tasty. (We had the cappuccino cheesecake the first night, and the red velvet cheesecake the 2nd.) The 2nd night we had the calamari as an appetizer, and the miso salmon and yellowfin tuna as our entrees, all of which were very good. The atmosphere seemed very nice as well, but we sat on the patio by ourselves both nights, so I can't really vouch for the indoor experience. There weren't many negatives about the place, but we were surprised that we didn't get any bread or other free "appetizer." With the prices we paid, we certainly expected to get a little bread before the meal (and I certainly could've used it. I hadn't eaten all day, so it would've been very much appreciated.) The service was also inconsistent. Our waiter the first night was much better than the second night, and at times I thought they forgot about us because we were the only ones outside. Overall, we enjoyed our experience, and I would certainly recommend it to others, as long as you're not looking for an inexpensive night out.

Came here for a birthday party and was somewhat excited to try only because I've passed by it several times but never had the urge to go. I believe the majority of our table of 10+ were first timers and I would say most were unpleased. We ordered the salmon with bok Choy, ribeye and chicken wraps. Out of the three the chicken wraps were the best and would order again. Salmon had fish eggs which I despise and was not listed on the menu description. I definitely would have not ordered if I knew it was topped with fish eggs. The salmon was overalls seasoned and soy sauce drenched my plate. Boyfriends ribeye was undercooked he asked for medium and pretty much got rare. For the price of the food I would have expected better quality. Service could have been better. Since we all had split checks it was for them to organize the tabs and took over 15 minutes just to get change back. Wouldn't recommended this place at all. Only way ill go back is for the lettuce wraps and free bread.

We gave this a try today for lunch. I most likely will not return unless I'm with a group that has decided this is the place they want to meet. Service: OK, our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable, but my ice tea ran dry and she was nowhere in sight. I ordered the Rock Shrimp Flat Bread. The flat bread was more like an uncooked pita. The red peppers seemed like they came out of a jar and the shrimp were the smallest I'd ever seen - almost like salad shrimp! I think the flavors they tried to put together on the flat bread could be excellent, but instead, I was left unimpressed. I ordered the bistro salad as my side. When it arrived, the greens were warm (not intentional) and the raspberry vinaigrette had an unnerving pepto bismal tinge to it. My husband ordered the Kobe Beef Burger. It was tasty, but definitely overcooked. He also ordered the same bistro salad with pepto bismal dressing. To top it all off, we had a window seat - lovely view! On a beautiful spring or fall day, I bet it's great to sit on the patio, however, today we got to see a chef walk in the back door carrying bags of frozen food. They looked like frozen french fries. That was disappointing. For $10 and up plates, I don't expect to see the kitchen staff walking in the door with frozen fries they picked up at the local grocery store.

This is one of the worst "Fine dining" establishments in town. Food is sub par and prices extremely high! We were told we were getting bread and never received it. The garlic soup did not taste fresh and resembled the taste and look of runny spinach cheese dip. Scallops were big but not much flavor to the table! I would not recommend this place to anyone. Also the server told us his life story, not my idea of a fun time!

I have been here for Happy hour on a Friday and lunch. It is excellent. The Tuna is amazing!

I have enjoyed the food both times I have been here, and the wine list is good as well. Check out The Four Graces Pinot Gris!

I just went for dinner and the meal was phenomenal! I had the bistro salad which was good but nothing out of the ordinary, but the main course really made up for it. I ordered the scallops with truffle mac and cheese and they were delicious.. One of the best scallops I have ever tried.... The dish was just perfect... In addition to that, the service was good and the atmosphere was nice. Really no complaints.. Like others have said, it is a little on the pricier side but will definitely go back on another special occasion.. Recommended!

While I've been preaching the rosemary potatoes as being the singular reason to come to their brunch, I found out today it's no longer on the menu. The server was pleasant and offered to have them make some, but when it came out they were more like tough French fries with the rosemary seasoning. There are far too many places in Jacksonville to go to for brunch, so for a place as refined as this to be so ordinary is disappointing.

My friend and I decided to try Corner Bistro when it came up on Groupon. The first thing I noticed was no vegetarian entrees on the menu. I asked the server if they had a vegetarian entree or if they could alter any of the entrees to make it vegetarian friendly, he said they could try to make a pasta primavera if I preferred. I don't like feeling as though I'm being punished for being a vegetarian and have actually never been to an upscale restaurant that didn't have at least a few legitimate vegetarian options before. (I don't consider indescribable pasta with a sauce that's not even on the menu a legitimate option.) I ordered a salad instead. My friend ordered the short ribs. While we waited for our dinner, I ordered a glass of wine (recommended by our server) and the server brought some bread to the table. It was obvious that the bread was not something that was made in-house and had been microwaved to heat it, so we passed on it after tasting it and waited for our dinner. When I got my salad, it was served as a whole head of romaine lettuce, which is fine, I've had it like that before, but I was only given a butter knife to cut through all that lettuce. My friend, who ordered meat, was also not given a knife to cut it with. The salad was fresh, and not bad, though I guarantee the dressing came out of a bottle and was not homemade. My friend did not like her short ribs or the potatoes and greens that came with it; she said that every item on her plate was so greasy and of similar texture (mushy) that she couldn't eat much of it. Both of us are big dessert people so we asked about the dessert menu, and inquired which of the items were made in-house. Our server said that all the desserts except the creme brulee were previously made and shipped to the restaurant, so we passed on dessert. When we got the bill, the glass of wine that was listed on it was not the one that I ordered (remember, recommended by the server), but one that was $4 more. I showed the server my Groupon (which I had told him at the beginning of the meal that we were planning to use), and he responded that he wasn't sure if he could accept it and he had to get a manager to approve it! I was shocked that this restaurant advertised on Groupon and then turns down their customers. Luckily the manager agreed to accept it, never even telling us why there as a problem in the first place. The final kicker is that for the rest of the night and the next day my friend was sick to her stomach, unable to eat, and had diarrhea. Thankfully I did not eat any of her food, and therefore didn't have any of her symptoms. I guess there are some perks to being a vegetarian. Both of us agreed that we would never eat there again, not even if they paid us to eat their food. I cannot believe the prices on their menu, which are what would be expected of a casual fine dining restaurant, but not some place that orders and serves pre-prepared food. If I wanted that kind of food, I could have gone to Olive Garden and paid a lot less.

This was a slow Monday for Corner Bistro. We decided to try it again after about a year away. Had had okay meals before. A nice dinner and decent lunch. This was a real disappointment. And after reading others' reviews realized that the owner/managers do not read yelp. The same issues come up over and over. Salads are dry - asked for a bit more dressing but big mistake - the rasp dressing is thick like pepto. Do not order quiche - of any kind. The server recommended it. Thin and thick and dry. Couldn't eat it. And he should have noticed that it was still on my plate when he cleared. He didn't even ask. Also too aware of the traffic going in and out of the kitchen and in and outside with deliveries as mentioned in other reviews. Cute place, but need to pay attention to reviews and update and improve the food and the service which was inconsistent even tho a slow day.

Went to the Corner Bistro last Friday night. My friend whom I was meeting was a little late, so I sat down and ordered a glass of wine. I asked the waiter for a glass of a Spanish red, and he brought me the Evodia Garnacha ($9). It was quite good. So good I could've ordered a bottle, and probably will next time I'm there. I ordered two appetizers, the steak tartare and the crab & lobster cakes. Both appetizers were very good. The waiter did ask me if I knew what steak tartare was, however, it wasn't an offensive question - I imagine he had previous clients order it and probably be shocked that the steak is raw. The cilantro creme fraiche that came with the crab cakes was sooo tasty - I could've licked the plate (but this is not that sort of establishment). My friend had the Scallops Victoria with the lobster mac & cheese. I tried the scallops, and they were exquisitely cooked. I didn't try the mac & cheese, but that's because my dining companion devoured it before I could have a taste. The server was attentive but never overbearing. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience. So why not 5 stars? I thought the scallops were a little pricey - $30. Also, I wish the menu had a little more variety, both in food selection and in price selection. But, I still intend to go back, and hopefully soon. I'm already planning my next selection, and I'm torn between the duck breast & confit and the seafood bouillabaisse. Look for more reviews to come.
