Copper! You sort of blew me away! My husband and I stopped in last night for a late dinner. I had purchased a $10 for $20 deal a while back and we were in the area, so decided to use it. Trivia was happening inside and the music played in between questions was pretty loud, so we opted for the outdoor patio seating. They offered $3 drink specials all night - their house Copper Tap draft beer, Captain Morgan and Fireball. We both ordered a Captain and ginger ale. I was regretful when I later looked at the drink menu: they make hand crafted cocktails that sound right up my alley! "Organic Pear Jalepeno Margarita," "The Spicy Watermelon"...do ya sense a pattern here? We opted to share The Texan Burrito: a [giant] "flour tortilla rolled and stuffed with steak, shrimp, chicken, peppers, onions, tomatoes, black beans, sour cream, guacamole and shredded cheese. Topped with queso." It was incredible! It truly was plenty to share and was loaded with everything above, including perfectly cooked shrimp and huge chunks of veggies. And doused in creamy white queso. Ahh. Being a crazy cheese head, I commented to my husband that I was "in hog heaven." The burrito really was killer and sadly trumped the burrito we shared last week at Lola's in Riverside, whose namesake is "burrito joint." :/ Although it's a decent drive for us, this will not be our last visit to Copper! I want to try those drinks and I WILL order that burrito again.

This place would have gotten 4 stars if not for the cocky hostesses we were ignored by when we walked in the door. Having never been there, I don't take kindly to walking in, waiting to get some sort of greeting or instruction, and the turning to the two girls chatting near the door, and asking "do we seat ourselves?" For one of them, with her back to me (short, in a blue dress and black flats), to say "oh, nope. I do that. We were chatting." Negative one star upon arrival. Luckily our waitress kicked ass and made up for her dumb ass. Fish and chips = killer. West coast sliders = delicious, especially the duck one which was very complex in richness, sweet and spicy flavors. Wings = big, cooked perfectly. We got some kind of sweet and spicy sauce which was original and delicious. Beer flights = excellent. 6, 4 oz beer pours for $8. Yes please! Good selection too. Like I said, 4 stars if not for our ditzy hostess greeting.

Derrick recommended loaded fries and the surf and turf slider - all 3 are amazing ( that includes Derrick!) He also recommended Big Top Trapeze Monk beer from Sarasota Florida (one of their craft beers) since i like Belgian beer and it's very smooth, not overpowering my food! Nice place to chill... The only thing that would make it better is if a nice handsome man would come up and start talking to me but most people are here with their group but at least there is a TV to watch and a bartender to talk to.

The lamb slider and the salad are my favorite combo. The homemade balsamic dressing is my favorite. The staff is always nice and friendly. I love the beer samplers. I'm from Texas and it's so cool that they have the samplers with the different states! The lunch specials are very reasonably priced! I will be going back!

So ive been here with the same group of gals three times now..the first time we had lunch, the second time we had food and a HUGE amount of beer flights and this last time we just had drinks and nachos.. I have tried the she crab soup, not so great..i had a trio of sliders (buffalo chicken, meatball and caprese) that were pretty good and it seems like the slider selection is where its at here..i also had the most amazing awesome flavorful caprese burger with crispy perfect fries!! the beer flights..omg..how hilarious is it that 4 girls decide to order ALL the regions (yes the whole united states) of beers to try? well we did..we had those wooden state things full of beer all over our table..some were good, some were gross, some we forgot if we liked them or not after sampling so many!! what a fun time!! this last time we went after eating somewhere else and wanting to find some fun to get into..the bartender ben told us the drinks specials, which for a friday night were awesome, there was some live music which was good, and we ordered some nachos which were tasty..all in all this is a great place to go to but i dont think alot of other people have caught on..we went the first time in novemberish, then in maybe february and now..do i need to start telling people to come here? it seems that the menu changed quite a bit since ive eaten there in the past and my previous selections are no longer available..

Sunday Brunch... yum! Wait staff was very nice and helpful. We had bottomless mimosas and I enjoyed the craft beer French toast - it was utterly amazing! There was a lot of food, so I had to share with my husband (he finished the plate). It's a casual setting, so come as you are!

Great sliders and a good selection of beer. The service was good and the food was average. I would give this place 5 stars but we had hair in our waters and part of a towel in our sliders. Besides that it was pretty good

Brace yourselves: this is a long one. Our friends had invited us out to dinner to check out the new Copper Tap House, so we were curious, of course, and excited to be going anywhere with "tap" in the name. Ok, so we walk in on a Saturday night, 35 min wait (not bad!), and it gave us a chance to look around. The decor is gorgeous... slate walls, a nice big bar in the middle and nice lighting as well. When out table is ready, we sit down, the hostess gives us the menus, and before we can even open them, our server asks if we would like any appetizers. We giggle a little bit and explain we need a little more time. She makes her way back in a few minutes, and we order a couple of apps: the spinach and artichoke dip, the queso... and Mr. Yelp and I order a couple of their beer flights. (Now the beer flights have some solid breweries: Stone, Bell's, Lagunita's... but if you are looking for something new, or unusual, this is not the place.) We go ahead and place our order since this a new place, it's kinda packed, and to try to make things easy for our server. I ordered the She Crab soup as my entree and asked if I could add a side salad. I was told they don't offer a side salad, unless you order an entree... but then told the salads are the same size as the side salads... uh, so, ok, just the soup, please. Mr. Yelp orders the whole snapper, and our friends order the sliders and a burger. The spinach dip comes out first and solo for our friends. It's essentially a mix of spinach with some cheese melted on top. Hard to get onto a chip and almost impossible after it cooled down. Meh. We are told the queso is held up because they are making new chips, so we wait. Maybe a minute after the queso comes out, Mr. Yelp's side salad comes out and they tried to deliver my soup. We asked if they could hold up until the other entrees come out, as we've just gotten our apps. So, they take it back. About 5 minutes or so, and here comes my soup again! We asked again, if they could really hold it, as it was an entree, and at this point, with 2 flights (and the cool map flight holder, which shows what region and state the beer is from) 2 apps and a salad on the table, there is NO room for anything else at this point. About two minutes after that, here comes the soup AGAIN. We've barely made a dent in our app, again, there is NO room on the table, and they actually told me, there is no warmer to put the soup under, so it has to be delivered now. WHAT? Wow. As we struggle to make room, the rest of the entrees come out... and we have to consolidate. I actually mutter, "What would you suggest we do here?" And they tell us to give up the map beer flight holders to make room, and now we have no clue what beer is what. We ask that they box the salad (barely touched) and they told us they would keep it in the back. The She Crab soup.... well, forgettable. No she crab "kick" to it, it's a small bowl and I honestly can't think of a redeeming quality to it at all. (And who knows what happened to it after it's three premature table debuts.) I had a bite of the snapper... and while the presentation was impressive, and the inside was cooked through, it offered no flavor at all. (The cold black bean salad that came with it definitely has some potential though.) We tried a bite of our friends chicken slider... well, it tasted like they used a while bottle of Cajun seasoning on it.... and was super salty and almost inedible. We are all pretty much laughing at this point. Then we order dessert. We went with the rum cake and after that flight, I asked for a cup of coffee with the cake. Well, they don't have any coffee here, so forget that. So the cake comes, it's super dry (Adam liked it) and we laugh a little more. That's about all we can do at this point, right? Well... Then our server comes out and tells us the salad that was boxed to go, oh, someone threw it away. At that point, I am laughing hysterically, I mean tears rolling down my face, fist pounding on the table laughing, and I try to turn away... We had wanted to stick around for the band that was advertised to play at 9 pm... but when it got to be about 9:30 pm and no band, we all decided to bail. I've been a server that has opened up a new restaurant and am well aware that it takes a bit to work some of the kinks out. I'm not the kind of person that demands to speak to a manager or sends the food back. I know it wasn't our server's fault. And the food could have been a saving grace here (for example... they are new and the food is so good, we'll come back in a few months) but it's not. My favorite dish of the night was the queso.... BUT only after it cooled down, because it was way too thin and runny at first and you couldn't even get a good amount on the chip. This place is a cluster, wrapped in chaos, with an uninspired menu. I can't see myself ever going back. (Too many other bookmarks and too far of a drive.)

Service was great... Food to price ratio was ridiculous. The food quality was okay at best and they were out of steak. Drinks weren't that great either. We felt they were poorly made and did not have much alcohol in them. I will not be returning here.

If you are really into craft beer check it out. My palate is not so refined. I had a couple of appetizers that were really good. I ordered grilled chicken nachos and shrimp tacos. I only gave them 3 stars because the waitress recommended a beer that she promised I would like. I didn't like it at all. She took it back, gave me a water, and charged me for the beer anyway. That was a big turnoff to me.

It's definitely different, but different isn't always bad. Like beers they have on tap, our service was buzzin' & hoppy. I drowned in their deliciously cheesy fries. I mean holy cow this appetizer can feed a small asian village. Their duck tacos are AMAZEBALLS

This should be a three star review but the food was so good, I'm giving it four stars. The service was exceptionally slow, I mean it was absurd. Our waiter apologized to us at least 3-4 times for our extended wait for our food so I'm hoping it was an anomaly. However, during the very long wait my drink was also never refilled, despite several stops at our table by the waiter to apologize for the delay, I would think they would at least want to keep our drinks filled while we were waiting over an hour for breakfast. That being said...the food, when it arrived was amazing. We went for Sunday Brunch and I ordered French toast and a side of bacon. The bacon you can leave, but the beer battered French toast with strawberry butter is worth the trip. My boyfriend got a breakfast platter with eggs and chorizo, also very good. The make your own Bloody Mary bar was also good, but the vodka was of course bad for $3, I didn't ask if you could upgrade for a higher price per glass but if you could, that would be a feature worth returning for as well. Again, seriously slow service keeps this from being a 5 star review, seriously amazing food, huge portions that were good even warmed up the next day, save this from being a 3 star review.

Let's shed some light on the saga that is Copper. The good: - The location. This area has needed something besides the mass of chain restaurants clumped here. - The Bar. Big, plenty of seating, and covered in pennies. Really cool to look at. - The service. No issues here. Fast, frequently checked back with us. Knowledgeable about the beer on tap. The weird: - Beer selection. I understand that their trying to capture the essence of american beer culture in only 28 taps. The lack of local brews besides Intuitions People's Pale was disheartening. - The decorations. This is just something I noticed immediately. The walls are barren. Kind of gives it a warehouse feel with the high ceilings and all. - The food. I didn't eat here (I'll explain why), but I did study it hard. It's all over the place. Slider's, fresh fish, house made salsa, premium rib eyes... All I can think is their trying to capture the american culture in one small menu. The ugly: - The price point. Seems a bit high for the area. There's a Walmart 50 yards away. - The TV's at the bar. There's only three in the whole building. Not sure if I'd want to come here to watch a whole game when I'd have to crane my neck upwards the whole time. Think front row at a movie theater. - The taps. There is a big, almost moonshine still, looking thing in the center of the bar that houses all the taps. The grate under it that catches all the drips from the taps already had weird brownish stains on it. Might want to reconsider the color of it because it just looks dirty. I tried to go in here unbiased because I was very excited for this place to open. I didn't have an awful experience here, but it didn't stand out. To me, the place feels unfinished. Given time, I expect it to grow and figure out their market. Maybe settle into an identity instead of trying to do it all. I will go back eventually and maybbeeeeee eat, but with PDQ a short walk away it might be hard. 3/5 I'll update this review when I eat there. Just don't know when that wlll be.

Went with some friends tonight and was pleasantly surprised. The decor is totally boring and it's really bright inside. However, good food and good service. Pretty good beers on tap. They let you try them to see what you like. I had the "Big Cheesy" burger. It was excellent. Good sweet potato fries. My wife had the sliders. The warm turkey was excellent. The blackened chicken was boring. The black bean burger which was just okay. Our friends had different sliders and enjoyed them. Definitely want to go back for lunch because it's a different menu, and looks more interesting.

Awesome spot if you like craft beers, they have a great selection from across the country and off beer flights for great prices. We had two beer flights with 6 beers each for $6. The food is great but big portions so come hungry. Definitely the spot on Tuesday and Saturday nights.

First and foremost this place is a fine curator of craft beers. They are selective, passionate and enthusiastic about their beers here and it shows. My recommendation is to take a seat at the appropriately designed 'penny' bar (get it:copper) and order a region of the country to sip on. They have nice sampler boards that mirror the region of the country you decide to sample and are a great value. The food is uniformly solid- expect big flavors and nice portions. The Caesar salad is nicely prepared as well as their full roster of slider sandwiches. The cocktails are also a plus- on this particular night they had a jalapeno pear margarita that was totally on point. All in all- this is a local joint, owned by a hard working team that are bringing a very diverse line-up of beers to the Beaches area. Full bar available. Free foos-ball. Modern setting. Good tunes. A very welcome addition to this neck of the woods.

Popped in for lunch on a Saturday. $10 bottomless mimosas and $3 bloody Mary's! Haven't gotten the food yet but the bloody mary was enough to make me throw 5's!

Not sure why this place has all good reviews. I had a terrible experience here. My friend couldn't find a single thing on their weird menu that sounded remotely appealing to order, so she ordered nothing. I ordered the west coast sliders, which sounded interesting, but were so disgusting I actually sent them back. I never send food back. After tasting each one, I couldn't even tell what I was eating and had to ask the waiter what they even were. And he told me the wrong things because even he didn't know. He was also the worst waiter on earth. It's a tap house and not once did he even come check on us or ask us if we wanted another beer! He wouldn't even glance in our direction so we could get his attention.

I was recently invited to Copper Tap House. They are a new restaurant in town located on the corner of Beach Blvd and Hodges Blvd (in the corner of a strip mall). We visited on a Thursday night and they were pretty busy. We were seated right away and our waitress came over to take our drink order/appetizer order. We ordered the Arrogant Bastard Pepperjack Queso for our appetizer. Menu description - "Our Pepper Jack Queso, an Albuquerque, New Mexico favorite, is spicy and smooth and made with the rich full flavor of Arrogant Bastard Ale. Full of flavor but not heavy, which makes it the perfect pairing with our Tap House chips." The queso was really good and didn't thicken up fast like some queso dips do. We were dipping throughout the entire meal! We decided to get a variety of sliders for our entrees. I got the Buffalo Chicken Slider, which is tender chicken breast filet deep-fried, and tossed in buffalo sauce. For starters, the chicken is a huge piece of chicken! The buffalo sauce was really good, not too hot, and completely covered the chicken. I also got the Kalua Pig Slider, which is Hawaiian BBQ Sauce covering smoky pulled pork. I really liked this one. The sauce had a hint of sweetness, but not too much. The waitress told me that this is their most popular slider, and I can see why! My husband got the KC BBQ Slider, which is pulled pork covered in sweet & tangy Kansas City BBQ sauce. I took a bite of it because I wanted to compare it to mine. Well I don't know which one I liked the best! This sauce wasn't sweet like mine, but the taste was still great. He also got the Chorizo con Huevos, which is spicy Chorizo sausage, grilled and topped with an over-medium fried egg. The chorizo is a patty underneath the egg. I also took a bite of this one. Ivan neglected to mention that the egg didn't break yet, so I took a bite and it went everywhere! I missed my shirt by a fraction of an inch! This slider was also delicious. The chorizo was tasty but not greasy and the egg was a great addition. Verdict: Liked it! Everything we had was great, so we know we will be back. We liked that the sliders were served with very minimal amount of toppings. What it says on the menu is what is on the slider. I know some people might be put off by that, but to me it's very ballsy. They really showcase the taste of their sliders without hiding behind generic toppings. I loved that. They also have a great selection of local craft beer from across the US, so we are definitely going back for a beer flight. We liked the atmosphere of the restaurant as well. There is a stage in the corner so I bet local artists have a great time on the weekends there. We also had a chance to meet the manager Juan. He was very nice and accommodating. We kept seeing him bussing and checking on tables, so he seemed to be a very hands on manager. I think that is great!

5 Notes to management( if there is any) 1. when customers are looking around and standing by the door go seat them! 2. When you tell customers seat themselves and you'll bring them menus...Bring menus! 3. When customers grab own menu from hostess stand and sit there for 15 mins unattended to and staring down the work staff...attend to them! 4. Clearing tables after guests is a must but not when 3 tables of new guests are sat and no one has greeted them...especially when you have two workers clearing one table and talking to each other. 5. Follow notes 1 thru 4 and you'll be in a business for a long time!

I went here tonight for dinner with my friends. The door was opened for us and the hostess sat us quickly. The floor under our table was pretty sticky and the menus were all curled up and not super clean. I ordered a beer, which arrived quickly and was nice and cold. I had three sliders for dinner: a Kalua pork slider, one called pollo diablo, and one our waiter suggested that had chicken and slaw on it. The pork slider was great and I'd order it again. The pollo diablo was spicy chicken with a sauce that was really spicy and kind of sweet. SO GOOD! The third was kind of bland and I would probably order something else next time. The fries were so crispy and delicious!! Service was great - our waiters name was Austin. We will go back again and try some other stuff!

I'd like to give us 3 3/4 stars because it was better than three but not quite four. This is our first time here and we had the lobster slider roll and french fries. French fries are advertised as "the best french fries ever" and we would agree they are very good french fries. The lobster roll had good flavor but the lobster was chopped a little too fine for us. The roll itself was good. Had a glass of the Kelly's Irish hard cider that was very nice. Service was very good and our waiter was very friendly. Will definitely come back to try other food.

Hard for me to give this a full review on food cause I've only been there once but I liked the place. I had the sliders (pork (no slaw) and the cheese with siracha (wasn't spicy at all). They were average. Normal bar food. The server was awesome. I even screwed up my own order and when it came out she had no issue bringing it back and bringing me another one even though I was in the wrong lol. My bad. She was great. The beers were great. I had the Midwest flight of beers. A few I hadn't heard of. They were awesome. It was Sunday around 2pm. The bloody Mary Bar seemed cool if you were a bloody Mary fan(I'm not). You pour your own and add your own ingredients they have out. I want to go back to try the entrees. I liked the place.

Bartender and waiter were super friendly. Beer selection was good. Sliders were great except the chicken one, which was really boring. Not a huge fan of the buns they use, but the Big Cheesy burger was absolutely delicious. Great happy hour prices and good prices overall. There were 6 of us and everyone seemed to enjoy it all. We will be back to try the lunch menu!!!

We wanted to like this place, we just can't seem to enjoy sitting in uncomfortable wooden seats where you can't relax. With the prices a little above the average place, you would think the seating would be more conducive to lingering to enjoy the obviously well thought out menu. It only partially succeeds. So, is it trying to be an upscale sports bar or something more. We have not gone back, seating is important to a restaurant and this one fails. We were hoping for more.

Yesterday a girlfriend & I decided to pop in and check out the menu having never been here. The menu looked quite delicious with a vary large selection of unique sliders, so we took a seat and placed our order. Approximately 45 minutes later - no food and no service after our drink order. We were given a cup of Chicken Tortilla Soup as a gesture of good faith...which was quite tasty..so we waited patiently for our grand tour of tastes with our Unique selection of Lamb and Goat Cheese Slider, Hawaiian Slider, & Chicken Slider. Unfortunately there was a huge let down. The wait.. did not prove worthy. The sliders came out... looking sad in looks and disappointing in taste. The efforts of the menu fell flat and the service was a huge let down.

Me and my wife decided try this place out for dinner on a Sunday......when we entered we were promptly greeted and told to seat ourselves, after we found our seats, our waiter (his name is Austin, he was great) offered us water as we perused the drink menu, when he returned he asked us if we had been here before, which we hadn't so he proceeded to give us a rundown of the menu and general idea of the restaurant....I ordered a southern beer flight and they came out (6 4 ounce pours for 8 dollars not bad) and were arranged from light to dark starting with a cider and ending with a brown ale. We ordered the beer cheese and it was very tasty, my wife got the pulled pork entree which she enjoyed minus the coleslaw which she said has too much vinegar for her, I ordered 3 different sliders the pulled pork was delicious with a creamy potato salad on top, the other two sliders I didn't enjoy very much the chorizo slider was very heavily seasoned..too much for my taste, and the duck slider had jalapeños in big chunks on it and I didn't really enjoy that one either.... I will just try different food options next time....our waiter was very attentive and answered all our questions with a smile....I will be returning to this place!

Had a great experience. Amazing craft food. Great craft beer selection. The BIG CHEESY burger was amazing & so we're the fish and chips. This month they are rimming the beer glasses in brown sugar & graham cracker crust for October. Very friendly wait staff. Live music. We will return.

This place has only been open a week so we didn't expect it to be perfect but we did expect the good to taste better. We ordered the Loco entree and Duck entree. Both had the exact same sauce on it which was horribly salty so I couldn't I finish my meal. My boyfriend finished his because he was just hungry (go figure). The owner ended up knocking 50% off our entire bill which was a nice consolation. My boyfriend ordered the Midwest beer sample which is a nice gimmick and you get to try out different types of beer you might not otherwise try. Our server was super nice! Wish I would've gotten her name. She was very accommodating and seemed genuinely upset that our meals weren't up to par. We ordered the parmadora cheese appetizer which was actually really good! I will warn you, they serve a TON of carbs with your entree. My plate was 95% potatoes and 5% duck. My boyfriends plate was 75% rice and 25% beef and egg. Hoping it gets better. The atmosphere was really nice and welcoming.

Was expecting more. As others mentioned, this is more of a bar than a restaurant. Menu is weak (at best) and the food is only average. In fact, there are more drinks on the menu than actual food items. Kids meals are a joke. Older son got grilled cheese and it was about 2 bites of grilled cheese and some fries. For $6 I expect a little more. At least drinks are included in the kids meals. Can't say I'll be back here. Very disappointed.

It's a bar. Don't be fooled like myself that it is anything other than a bar. We went there for dinner Friday night with another couple. We should have went to dinner at a real restaurant and then Copper Tap for drinks. The entire restaurant was one large LARGE room with a bar in the middle. The tables on the wall are bolted to flip up and lock on the wall so the entire place can be turned into a total bar in a minute's notice. We arrived at 6:30 Friday night. We ordered house white wine. They were out. The bar manager refused to substitute or upgrade us. We switched to house cab. So glad the bar manager had that available! He might want to plan his bar a little better in the future! Our table had two orders of the Cuban Fried Fish. It wasn't cooked all the way. It was sent back. Instead of returning with a new fish, they simply took the already slightly eaten on fish and RE-FRIED it. It was explained to the table that the fryer timer was only set for fish that weighed 1 to 1.5 lbs and ours was a 2 lb! And they just needed to adjust the timer. He seemed excited that we were so lucky to get an under cooked 2 lb fish versus the normal fully cooked 1 to 1.5 fish. The fish was REALLY done now being fried TWICE and all. Gross! The table also had the tuna and scallops which were fine but for the price one would expect it to be really good. The overall Attitude seems to be .. Copper Tap is so FAB that they don't care about customer service and are not interested in Repeat Business. Jacksonville is LUCKY to have Copper Tap Open for us to enjoy. As another review said. they have a long way to go. I hope they get there because we really do want, like and need a place like Copper Tap.. They just need to drop the attitude and get down to basic customer service. We will probably go back for another try but this time it would be for a flight of beer and sliders. One last thing...Our server was OUTSTANDING. I hope they can get the bar and kitchen right so she will have some support.

Copper is one of those quite decent restaurants where when I find myself there, I enjoy myself, but I never really worry about seeking it out. The food is excellent, and really quite perfect for a group of people with varying hunger and/or money levels because you can buy a huge entree or a single slider (or more sliders, if it turns out you're hungrier than you thought!). I usually end up with a slider or three so that I can have a lot of different things, but the husband will get some giant crazy thing, like a cheeseburger quesadilla, that is weird but tasty. But I do have to say, entrees be darned, the "frickles" appetizer is the best thing on the menu. Perfectly fried skinny pickles with a zesty ranchy dip? I'm in. The downside to Copper is really the acoustics. If it's packed when you go, and since my last two times there were for trivia it's been super packed, the noise levels go way up and it's difficult to hear the person two seats away from you. If you're like me and you can barely keep up with the six-person conversation at your own table, you might find yourself curling up into a ball when the conversations at the tables around you start sneaking in, too. I definitely recommend going at a quieter time just so you don't have to shout at your dinner companion!

Neat concept and bar/restaurant. A little on the pricey side. Spent 50 bucks here on my tab in one night eating 3 sliders and having 3-4 beers. Service was great, and the decor is done well. I had the Buffalo Chicken Slider, Chorizo con Huevos, and the Pollo Diablo sliders. The buffalo chicken was just what you'd expect. Nothing special, but certainly not bad. The Chorizo con Huevos and the Pollo Diablo were by far my fav with the Chorizo con Huevos coming out in front between all 3. The chicken on both sliders was cooked phenomenal. Breading was perfect the chicken was soft and very moist. So good. I really wanted to the San Diego Burrito, but was not hungry enough to tackle that. I will be back again and certainly come hungry for the San Diego Burrito.

Sometimes you wanna go.. Where everyone knows your name! My go to bar. My home away from home. That's what I was trying to do with copper - unfortunately their wait staff seems to have high turnover and I'm not as big a beer hound as I aspire to be, but enough about me. This place has a lot going for it. Decent food, nice atmosphere (with a penny topped bar!) and a regularly rotating tap with beers from all over the U.S. Get the regional sampler or call an uber and go nationwide.

The beer list was misleading and incomplete. I ordered an IPA which is what I got but it was a Belgian IPA, no bueno. I hate Belgian's (not the people, the beer). The service was so-so, the waitress seemed preoccupied and not very knowledgeable about the beer. It's supposed to be a tap house and offer a good selection, I was not impressed. Food was a little over priced for what was served as well. Probably won't go back.

Since moving to Jacksonville, my fiancee and I have been looking for a local place with good bar food and good drinks at reasonable prices. We tried Copper one evening and immediately knew it was what we had been looking for for months. The drink selection is great and they have lots of specials. The sliders are fun and diverse (and the wings are AWESOME), and the live music Friday and Saturday nights has always been good. If you're looking for a place that doesn't take itself too seriously (like many places in Jax) but isn't totally bland, Copper is a great choice. We will be back!

I'm reviewing the bar/outside area, not the food. Came here with some friends to have a few drinks. We opted to sit outside since they had something going on inside (trivia, I think) and it was really loud. Also because we wanted to be able to smoke. They have a really good beer list and hubby was able to find one he liked for only $3. They also had several $3 specials on some liquors. I opted to go with the shots of Fireball that were only $3 each. I wanted to get my buzz on quick! :D The shots didn't come in standard shots glasses, they they were more like double shots. Not bad for $3 each. Even though they were extremely busy, I server was very attentive. He was constantly coming out to the patio area to see if we needed anything. Really excellent service. They also had a cornhole game set up on the patio and the hubby and another friend had a good time playing that for a while. Another friend who showed up later did decide to order food and he got a variety of sliders. He said they were pretty good. Since he gave the food a thumbs up, I wouldn't mind returning another time to try their food. When I find myself in this area of town again and am wanting to have a couple of drinks, I'd definitely return.

Arguably the worst menu I've ever seen. So bad I didn't even order. Had a drink and left. Poor options, poorly laid out. Empty dining room on a Saturday night.

I applaud people who create restaurants like this. Well done. The food is great unlike most pub type restaurants. Good staff great atmosphere but most particularly pleased with the food (considering is a pub and all). Michael Hosto

I can't say anything less than this place was amazing! Had tacos from south west and east! Love the fact they have bottomless mimosas, $5 top shelf margaritas and a Bloody Mary bar! Their food is amazing!!! Carolina sliders I loooooove it! Next time in Jacksonville definitely coming here!!! I RECOMMEND 100% !!

We have been here several times now and are more and more impressed each time. Great lunch specials and dinner options. Also, Sunday brunch is a wonderful surprise. There is truly something on the menu for everyone. If you come on trivia night, you better reserve a table in advance because they fill up quickly.

Bar and Games - 5 stars Food - 3 stars (outside of Sunday Brunch) I came here because I was told great things about the brunch menu. I was mistaken to believe that brunch was on Saturday and Sunday. I walk in and almost immediately have a small heart attack - giant Jenga game just toppled over and caused everyone to jump. We ask the server to seat us in an area away from the noise. She places us at the booth RIGHT besides the Jenga game?? Once we are seated the people playing go back to the bar, so I was assuming the server new better than we did. I was a little disappoint by the menu being so small. - large print but not many options. Especially few vegetarian or seafood items outside of fried cod. I had planned on getting a breakfast sandwich and asking if their was a vegetarian alternative to the bacon. But as soon as we say our orders she lets us know Brunch is Sunday only :-(. I'll never make a Sunday brunch. I order the cod sliders with friends and take in the bar. Beautiful addition to the area. I love the richness in the bar. When the food arrives I;m a little blow away by the size and weight. Tray was noticeably heavy. My cod fillet was almost twice the size of the bun. It's cooked beautifully and well seasoned. But when I deconstruct my slider - there's really no other way I'm be able to eat it and stay clean - the coleslaw stated in the menu was just shared cabbage. The other side of the slider was tarter sauce. My friend has red meat galore and was extremely happy with her sliders. After putting a decent in the thick cut fries and finishing 1 slider I was too full for the other. Take it home and it somehow tastes much better hours later. I'm not sure I'm come for the food specifically but this would be a great spot for happy hour or after work drinks. If I ever make it out for Brunch, I might update.

My wife purchased a double take deal a while back for this place so we were pretty excited to finally cash it in. (Ever had one of those expire on you?!) We came on a whim on a Wednesday night after a meeting near the beaches. So glad we did! We opted for the outdoor seating as Wednesday is trivia night and the inside loud and packed. We were the only table top outside so we got great service. We correctly selected The Texan Burrito. It certainly lived up to its name. It was stuffed with veggie, steak, chicken and shrimp. This was big enough to split. I was quite impressed as every bite had large pieces of shrimp. So pleased with the selection. Looking through the rest of the menu I'm sure everything else is great too. After all the restaurant was packed and that speaks for itself. Next time we're near the beaches this restaurant will certain be a contender!

We went to the Copper Tap House last weekend and got the nachos, they were just okay. We also got a Caesar salad that I couldn't finish because it was SO salty. I'm not talking the Caesar dressing was salty - it tasted like the cook dumped a ton of sea salt on it. I told the waiter, but he didn't seem like he cared or interested in correcting it, so I just told them to take it as it was inedible. We also got the San Diego Burrito and it was okay. Nothing special and nothing we would care to have again.

I tried this place for lunch the day before Thanksgiving. Bright, airy feeling with lots of custom high top tables and dining tables. There are a variety of appetizers, several fabulous sounding soups, and sandwiches. Sliders, handhelds, and entrees round out the menu. We tried the Avocado Salad, and the Fried Fish Sandwich. The salad had a generous amount of avocado on it, and my friend raved about it. The fish sandwich was very lightly battered, crispy and excellent. You could have a side of french fries, sweet potato fries, or sautéed veggies. The veggies were a mix of squash and carrots, and al dente, which I loved. Our server stated there would be a specific lunch menu in the new year, with salad/soup combos, salad/sandwich combos. I recommend you check it out!

We have eaten here twice. Once for lunch and once on a Saturday night for dinner. Both times we have had a great meal. I've ordered the sliders twice. They have like 4 slider options, each of which comes with 3 different sliders. I liked the Cali version which has a duck with wasabi, turkey burger, and fried chicken with slaw. The cocktail list is pretty cool as well. I tried the jalapeño margarita. Soooo good, went down WAY too easy. The only negative I can say is that the place hasn't quite found its identity yet. The Saturday night we were there it was half families with young children, and half a singles pick up joint. All in all we will definitely be back.

One enters to a beautifully decorated establishment with a personality disorder. Half-bar, half-restaraunt, and half-music venus; Copper Tap House does not add up. Congratulations Copper Tap House for the lowest review I've ever done, there are truck stops that server better food. So I will be to the point. Timeline: 7:32 - Seated 7:42 - Order Taken 7:46 - Beer flights arrive, they were delicious and the highlight of the evening, the wooden beer trays take up half the table, so request a larger table if this is planned. 7:48 - Appetizers arrive (nothing special here, microwaved queso) 7:53 - Entrees start to arrive before the salads and before a chance to finish apps, we send back asking for time to enjoy our starter meals 7:55 - More entrees arrive, at least with the salad 7:57 - Rest of Entries arrive, no room on table, no chance to eat salad, room was made, salad sent back Kudos to the kitchen shoveling our meal down our throats, we had not choice, they are not equipped with heating lamps so once the food is made, it must be taken to the customer. The waitress did the best she could do and tried to get the kitchen to give us more time. Shoutout to "insert name here" Does the cool $480 worth of pennies in the bar top and the nice stone walls make up for a bad food experience. No.

This place is a little Alice of amazing! Was in the area from Miami to see a show, stumbled upon this gem. Food was amazing , some of the most juicy salmon I have ever had. Someone at my table got the Carolina sliders OMG yummy!! $5 margaritas, unlimited mimosas bloody mary bar, and not stingy on the pour. If I am ever in the area again this is a MUST for me!

I will never go back to this place after the experience I had and witnessed. One Friday myself and a group of friends went to have a few drinks. One of the guys had some extra fun and as we all have done before, was a little loud. The following Friday we all returned and after 4 beers my friend was cut off because of the previous week. He had already apologized to the whole staff, and they had told him everything was perfectly ok. He had not drank before going and was not even driving. The manager was a complete a-hole and told my friend he had to leave or they were going to call the police. Our whole group, including people who also worked there, asked why he had to leave. The manager refused to give a reason. This restaurant will hold grudges on you if they don't like you for the smallest reason! When they try to market a bar during late hours to people in their 20's, they should expect some people to want to spend some extra money to have some more fun. Don't waste your time going to a horribly managed place!

My husband and I just ate here. Austin, our server, was very energetic and knowledgable. He did a great job. As for the food.... From the appetizer to the main course, everything was excellent !! I couldn't stop eating it. I'm very impressed with the service and food at this establishment. I'll definitely go back. Great job to the cooks and Austin! (Copper, you're lucky to have him as a server. I've worked in the service industry for years and I'm a bartender at a local jax beach bar and I recognize great service when I see it!!) DELICIOUS!!!!!!!! Mmmm

Nice bar area, nice staff. Food is disappointing. The sliders are overpriced for what you get, for example... Meatball slider you get one meatball cut Into two in a bun. That's it, no sliced tomato nor onion, cheese, nothing. Avocado salad? yes, you get a large helping of avocado but as a salad it's not great. I had the fish sandwich, the bun ruined it. The actual layout of the place is crazy, it feels like a school canteen. They need booths round the back wall and windows, as it is it's a hideous set up. I wouldn't go back.

I've been to the Copper Tap House a couple times now since it recently opened. Very little fan fair for the new restaurant. When I tried to look these guys up almost always came across the Copper Top that closed down the road where the new TacoLu moved in. My guest and I sat at a high top table in the middle of the room on our first visit, made me feel kind of weird - like claustrophobic or on a stage. The second visit was at the bar. The visit during the week the place was half full while the visit on a Friday night it was full including outside seating. So the story here is that they have craft food and craft beer. Different sections of the food and beer menus represent different US regions. They make their own food not the beer. Craft beer fans will be happy here with two dozen craft beers on tap. Bottle selection was nothing special. Drafts are fairly priced at about $5 although I wish the Bell's Two Hearted IPA was served in a 16 oz. rather than 10 oz. for the money. I had the Golden Spinach Salad ($7) which was heavily drizzled in balsamic vinaigrette with walnuts and goat cheese, a great salad although I would order the dressing on the side next time. My next visit had the West Coast Regional Sliders ($12) which were three poultry sandwiches. The chicken is breaded and deep fried and bread is refined white. The duck and turkey are made into a patty, not sure if it might be some type of sausage patty. I would recommend the wasabi duck, especially if you like horseradish. My guest had the Baked Goat Cheese Pomodora Dip ($10) which had a hidden onion-y taste to it and the Fresh Spinach and Artichoke Dip ($8). I would recommend the Spinach and Artichoke Dip, it is also served with salsa. Vegetarian options also include a Caprese slider. My guest enjoyed here house Cabernet ($3) and her Red Blend ($10) while I enjoyed my Breckenridge Vanilla Porter and Lagunitas IPA (fresh hops!). The service was very good. Bartenders are friendly and the servers check back frequently, although we did have to ask twice for extra bread. The atmosphere is open with tiled flooring and walls up to a high ceiling. The walls seem a bit bare and there are a few big screen TVs over the bar with sports. Sitting at the bar, the TVs were too high and I had the feeling like I was sitting at the front row of the movie theater. People are laid back with bright lighting and a slightly loud sound system. All in all, I can see myself coming here quite a bit in the future because I will be moving to the neighborhood. This will be my preference over Miller's Ale House, Bojangles, McDonald's at Walmart, Tim Tebow's PDQ and Panda Express.

Had the blackened salmon (which was cooked perfectly) with red beans and rice which was awesome. Then I topped off the meal with their bread pudding. Being from Louisiana the red beans and rice and bread pudding weren't a traditional recipe but none the less were awesome. With the meal I had three different beers from all over and there were many more to choose from. The bar and restaurant have a cool design and the staff/service was great. Wish there were more places like this where I live in Pensacola. It's a must if you are in Jacksonville.

Had a really nice experience here. We went Saturday for an early dinner before going to a movie. The staff was friendly and helpful. We ordered the caprese sliders as appetizers and while tasty, they could have used a bit more flavor (some more balsamic vinegar and salt would have put these over the top). But they were a neat twist on the standard old caprese salad. For dinner I ordered 2 appetizers instead of an entree. I had the avocado salad and the chicken and black bean quesadilla. Both were very tasty! The avocado salad was much bigger then I expected it would be--really more of an entree salad. It had large chunks of avocado, plum tomato slices, red onion all on top of mixed greens with a tasty dressing. I would order that again. The quesadilla was also tasty with a good amount of chicken, black beans and cheese inside and accompanied with their homemade salsa which has a nice kick to it. Hubby ordered the pork chops over a bed of sauteed veggies. The pork was juicy and with good flavor. Overall we were both satisfied and walked away happy. The only thing that would keep me from giving this 5 stars is that while the food was good, service was just a bit off. Our waiter seemed a bit stiff and not as attentive as he could have been and brought the entrees out while we were still on appetizers. It would be nice to have a bit of spacing between the courses as we weren't in a huge rush and didn't want to be made to feel that way. That said, they have a good beer and drink menu that looks appetizing as well and we will certainly be back to sample some more of their fare.

Was in Jacksonville for the weekend with some friends and we decided to check this place out. Unfortunately, I can't really provide a full review because we never received service. We came on a Saturday night around 10 and it wasn't very busy, however, no one came to seat us. We were left standing there wondering if this was a place where you seat yourself or if you need to wait to be seated. After a few minutes, my fiance went up to a waitress to ask and she said we could go ahead and seat ourselves and she would bring us menus. After about 5 minutes, no menu, no greeting, nothing. I went up to the front and grabbed the menus for the table. After about another 10 minutes, still no one came to our table. A couple that came in after us ended up walking out because I guess the same thing happened to them. We decided to follow suit and just went to Ale House in the same plaza area and they were packed but at least we got service. Menu looked good, drinks looked good. Unfortunately, we weren't able to try any of it. Pretty sure we won't be back next time we are in town.

I get the concept of this place but the staff needs to be more knowledgeable. There was a large display of liquor behind the bar so I asked for a beefeater and tonic to which my server replied, what's that? Food was good but a little pricey. Not sure if this place is going to make it.

First time visit was a very pleasant experience. Upon entering, I heard the magic words ,'sit where you want' which immediately tells me the place has potential. If I want to sit next to the kitchen, it will be my choice! After selecting a table by the one of many windows, we ordered lunch from a large and varied menu. I opted for the Southwestern chicken wrap, sweet potato fries and extra side if balsamic and honey cole slaw. My better half ordered bbq pork slider and caesar salad. Although we did not imbibe today, the beer options were many including locally crafted beers. The wrap was chocked full of chunks of tasty chicken, lettuce, tomato and a smattering of jalapeños. Potato fries were waffle cut and very good but the star of the show was the balsamic/honey cole slaw which was crispy, crunchy and mixed with a balsamic honey dressing dressing. Excellent! My wife reported her slider and salad was also very good. All portions were large. Service was good but it did seem to take a long time to get our food from the kitchen. Whether you are a beer enthusiasts or not, this place is worth a visit. We will be coming back.

Today was my first visit to Copper Tap House and I brought a friend for lunch. The place was clean and organized, spacious. For lunch I ordered the Loco Moco: Hawaiian-styled rice with a hamburger patty on top, topped with a fried egg and covered with a demi-glace sauce. It sounded interesting so I gave it a try. My friend had a taste and wished she had ordered it. Very tasty! My friend ordered the NorthEast Regional Sliders: Buffalo Chicken, Caprese and Meatball. We both agreed the Chicken was the best. The Caprese had a good flavor; nothing special and we didn't like the Meatball. There seemed to be a bbq flavor mixed with a marinara I couldn't quite explain. I will definitely go back and try other dishes.

Got takeout from Copper yesterday. Staff was really nice even though it was busy. I just got the Tap house Salad and the She crab soup. The She crab soup was chunky with some parts of the shell still in it, not really great. I'll go back and try the place again, the interior was great.

This place has a long way to go. Menu is not that great bc it has a lot of seafood options but it is a bar so I was hopeful for some additional sandwich options. I got the chili but it was basically ground beef I a bowl with lots of grease. There is a lot of dead space in the bar, but they have a good selection of beers. Glad to have a new place off Hodges, but it has room for improvement.

We aren't beer drinkers but enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Our dishes were nicely presented, fresh and tasty. Service was great. The menu is regional and offers different dishes inspired by various regions of the U.S. which we thought was a cool concept. Great local place.

We have spied this restaurant a few times and finally had the chance (time) to try it out. The eating area is a very open layout with about 1/4 bar seating, 1/2 high tops, and 1/4 tables. The lit slate tiles on the wall give it a very warm, inviting feeling. The staff sat us immediately and we had two servers ensuring that our needs were met. Good service is key to a relaxing dining experience in my eyes, and they made it great here. They allowed me to try a taste of the slaw and the dressings before ordering, provided enthusiastically. We started with the goat cheese pomodoro appetizer. It had a little bit of a kick to it and was very warm and creamy. Even my youngest liked it, and she normally turns her nose up to goat cheese. My wife had one of the slider flights, my daughter a burger, and I had a chorizo burger. The sliders had 3 different meats. A crab cake, Hawaiian burger, and a barbecue pork. All three were really tasty. The barbecue was the best. Tender, sweet, and a great texture. My daughter's burger was big, thick and juicy. It was really a handful. My chorizo burger was an interesting twist. It was pleasantly spicy and not overyly greasy. The bite of the chorizo was a nice changeup on the conventional burger. The shocker was that we ordered the balsamic slaw as the side expecting a small bowl on the side. The plate came out with at least half of it covered in slaw. Let me tell you, this was an incredible tasting slaw. Lots of crisp cabbage and a tangy balsamic vinegar dressing. Wow! We will definitely be back. I really want to try the spinach salad next time around. It really looked good.

Beautiful and clean restaurant. Great beer selection...lots of beers on tap from all over the US. Decent menu, and their featured food is a large selection of unique sliders - duck, lamb, chicken, pork, beef - made in different styles with homemade buns. They also have several traditional entrees on the menu with their own style. The sliders my wife and I tried were all pretty tasty and filling. The Arrogant Bastard Queso Dip was very good as well. Very friendly staff, and a good crowd for a Thursday evening. Will definitely be back. This restaurant may finally be the one that succeeds in this location.

If you like a good Old Fashioned, you should definitely come here. Each drink is made very well and they have a wonderful selection. They have a very nice selection of sliders, from all different regions as well, pair them with the fries and you've got yourself a wonderful meal... and not to mention the vanilla bourbon bread pudding is beyond amazing.

Amazing sliders (buffalo and caprese)! I tasted my husband's steak, which was a huge portion and lots of flavor. The veggies were really yummy as well. We split the West Coast taster and liked all of the beers that we have not gotten to try before. Jack was our server and he was so nice and on top of everything. This is our new spot !!!

Mmmm

We aren't beer drinkers but enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Our dishes were nicely presented, fresh and tasty. Service was great. The menu is regional and offers different dishes inspired by various regions of the U.S. which we thought was a cool concept. Great local place.

Awesome spot if you like craft beers, they have a great selection from across the country and off beer flights for great prices. We had two beer flights with 6 beers each for $6. The food is great but big portions so come hungry. Definitely the spot on Tuesday and Saturday nights.

It's definitely different, but different isn't always bad. Like beers they have on tap, our service was buzzin' & hoppy. I drowned in their deliciously cheesy fries. I mean holy cow this appetizer can feed a small asian village. Their duck tacos are AMAZEBALLS

I can't say anything less than this place was amazing! Had tacos from south west and east! Love the fact they have bottomless mimosas, $5 top shelf margaritas and a Bloody Mary bar! We have been here several times now and are more and more impressed each time. Great lunch specials and dinner options. Also, Sunday brunch is a wonderful surprise. There is truly something on the menu for everyone. If you come on trivia night, you better reserve a table in advance because they fill up quickly.
