Saw several reviews saying this location is permanently closed. I hope they're wrong 'cause otherwise I'm in a real life haunted restaurant complete with food, a cook and a sullen server. That thought creeps me out. What if this tasty camel hopper is really a moldy piece of bread that a ghost served me and I'm really trippin' this whole experience? The building might be old but it doesn't look dirty inside. Dated but not filthy. Carpet is vacuumed, counters/tables aren't sticky and it doesn't smell like pine sol covered puke. The outside does look like it's closed but the sandwiches are as good as the original location. Just check the hours and come on in!

It's permanently closed!!!!!!!! But, I have to add more words or stupid yelp won't post my review! So, don't waste your time driving here like I did!! It would be nice if you would update your site sometimes, Yelp!!!!!

Ahh...memories! Back in the mid 90s to early 00s this was THE best place for huge sandwiches at decent prices. Maybe I've just grown up but my son and I went here recently and it seems the sandwiches shrunk, but fortunately the taste is still there.

this place has the biggest sandwiches you have ever seen!! the mini club is only half of a huge one and that equals out to a LARGE sub. their is a lot of meat on these and there real meat not the deli meat kind

Hole in wall, love at 1st bite, crazy staff, old decor, roach city, but somehow I keep eating here. Cops love this place so if you're wanted don't eat here! Oh and JU students get a fat discount!!!!

Truly a hidden gem, this sandwich spot. It's been here forever and for good reason: the bread. Not even kidding. If you like sandwiches, you'll love this place. Now, be aware ... the building is old. Inside needs an update. But it's clean, organized, and has some of the nicest wait staff you'll ever meet. Also, the sandwiches. They are delicious - because of that bread I mentioned. and enormous. A regular sized sandwich stands about 3 inches tall and is a 6x6 square. It is easily two meals ... Possibly three. My favorite is roast beef. Pro tip: ask for it hot. It's not on the hot sandwich side of the menu, but they'll warm it just enough to melt the cheese. Also! This is a breakfast and lunch spot. It's closed evenings. That's okay, though ... your enormous lunchtime sandwich keeps well and will make a great dinner.

I've lived in Jacksonville for 20 years and have never come to this place. I love this hole in the wall spot. It's not the pretties place in the world but darn is it good. Got two roast beef sandwiches to split with my buds and the two sandwiches weighed the amount of a small child!!! The prices have went up from other reviews but other than that it is excellent food is good service is slow very relaxed and I would definitely come again. Oh and a lethal weapon pin ball machine!!?!? I think so

When I moved here to Jax about 6-7 years ago, this little joint was one place a friend took me that stuck in my mind forever, and always will. The first reason was bc I'd never been to such a jewel in a somewhat seedy part of town( what I thought was seedy at the time), and secondly bc the portions of food with the taste were phenomenal! I can't even joke. Try the super club if u want to eat for two or three days, or the mini super for 2 days haha. Turkey, ham, bacon, lettuce, cheeses so much food. Try the pastrami..I never liked pastrami u til this place. The fresh made bread and baked goods here are worth the drive!

Quantity and service were both great. Friendly staff. I got the Reuben and my friend got the Puerto Rican. Food was pretty good. I will come back if I am in the area.

Food is excellent but the service is very slow. My boyfriend introduced me to this place a year and a half ago and the food has always been delicious. My new favorite is the Italian Chicken round which is the fried chicken, tomato sauce, cooked mushrooms and melted cheese on their yummy bread. It was more than enough for me to have lunch the next day too. The two main quelms I have with this place is that it is not the cleanest looking of places with the sticky tables to go with it and it took over 20 minutes for our server to come back once we got our food to ask for a check. I am not opposed to hole in the wall places and in fact there are a couple in this town that I absolutely love, but when you walk in to a place and you weren't sure when the table was last wiped down that's when I am a little bothered by it. Will probably stick to take out from now on.

The sandwiches are always fresh, and huge! You definitely get what you pay for and never leave hungry.

In addition to the amazing subs already noted by other Yelpers, Blue Boy serves a "Camel Hopper" sandwich. Yep, that's the locally famous camel rider by a slightly different name. An attempt at being more politically correct? Who cares. No camel meat is used anyway- its just ham, salami, and bologna with tomato, lettuce, mayo, mustard and vinaigrette with or without peppers all stuffed into half of a pita bread. Yum.

The reuben sandwich was not on rye bread. The sweet ice tea was the worst I have ever had. Almost $13.00 for reuben, onion rings and ice tea.

My husband introduced me to this gem. It's a smaller business, no frills, but their food is top-notch. The bread is what makes their sandwiches so good. It's fresh and baked there daily. We've had the majority of their offerings but our favorites are the submarine, the reuben, the steak sandwich, and the pizza sub. If you're on this side of town, run-don't walk, to Blue Boys.

Blue boys is awesome. I've been living in Arlington forever and it is a great little sandwich place to get huge sandwiches... If you're getting to-go, definitely call ahead to save yourself the wait... it may be a little while during peak times.

The only place worth crossing the Mathews bridge for! (when its open anyways). Growing up in Arlington, I always heard myths about this awesome sub shop called Blue Boys, so it would only make sense that once I move out of Arlington 15 years later, I finally try this legendary sub shop. Like most awesome local lunch joints, it doesnt look like much from the outside, and the menu seems pretty ordinary as well...untill you see their subs. My boyfriend and I split the super club. Fresh baked bread piled high with assorted meats and cheeses, this sandwich definitely earned its "super" prefix. No joke, I couldn't even fit the sandwich in my mouth! I had to bite in stages. I took half of it home and it was still as delicious as it was the day before. If you want a quick lunch with big taste, this is the place for you!

Talk about getting your monies worth!! The turkey and ham sandwich is huge! Two of my friends and I split this sandwich and were more than satisfied. I look forward to trying more of their sandwiches. A keeper!

Huge burgers, made to order, with fresh ingredients. I'm very glad I found this place. Worth a try if your in the mood for a nice burger or sandwich!! Inside has that small town feel, and is clean and well kept.. Best burgers I have found in Jax!

All I can say is wow. How I have lived in Jacksonville so long, and never heard of this place is beyond me. Located in Arlington by Jacksonville University, Blue Boy is a local favorite (at least from those who were there when i went). The sandwiches are just HUGE! I got the mini Supper Club, and it was more than enough for two meals. Fresh cooked and cut Turkey and Ham on homemade bread... and of course the crispy bacon! Not only is the food amazing and served in big proportions, but it is extremely inexpensive for what you get. This has to be one of the best sandwich shops in all of Jacksonville.

I can unequivocally say that Blue Boys is one of Jacksonville's gems! Their food is delicious, and their prices make it even better! Prepare to get FED! Completely unpretentious, comfortable, and easy-going culture personify this place. Try the cheeseburger sub! The downtown location is awesome too!

Great, big sandwiches! One can feed two! Love their hot peppers!

Go big or go home! These ain't no little sandwiches folks, these are meals in itself! 6 - 7 bucks gets you a giant sub on fresh baked bread loaded with meat and toppings. Both hot and cold along with breakfast! My favs include the BLT (they don't skimp on the bacon), the Cuban, the Big Daddy, heck I could keep going!

Arlington doesn't have many secrets (not any good ones anyway) but Blue Boys makes up for them all. This place is exactly the same as it was 15 years ago when I fell in love with it. They even have SmashTV. An arcade game made so long ago that its opening credits are "The year is 1999 and Television has adapted to the more violent nature of man." of which I hold the 4th all time high score that I set 13 years ago. The sandwiches are huge enough to feed 2 hungry men or put a teenager into a food coma for at least a couple hours and they still only cost 7 bucks. All the sandwiches are still made by the same person as 15 years ago and if you eat their monster sub (which is only 12 bucks) you get a free t-shirt and your picture on the wall. Also, you can take out an ad on their menu for 10 bucks a month. Life is good.

This place is truly THE best place for sandwiches in any city. Fantastic food - one sandwich can feed 3 people - no exaggeration. Try the meatloaf sandwich - it's out of this world!
