As I entered, I was stunned by the decorum. It's stunning in all of it's contemporary hipster glory. Then there was the service. The service is remarkable, primarily due to our waiter's attention to detail. My mom asked for a Lime, instead of a lemon and even though most restaurants with a full bar would give her a lemon, THEY ACTUALLY GAVE HER A LIME. (it was awesome). Then there was the bruschetta. The presentation was beautiful, and the pesto was spot-on. The bread also had a delightful crunch. Then the entree arrived. The entree I had was the Chicken with Angel hair and it was DELICIOUS. The chicken was remarkably cooked and seasoned, the pasta cooked to Al Dente perfection. My brother had the Chicken Pomme Frites, which I was told: " I have never had a chicken at a restaurant that wasn't abysmally dry, but this place took it a step further: it gave me the best chicken I've ever had at a restaurant". The Crimini Mushroom flatbread was beautifully crafted and delicious and all the ingredients were fresh. Dessert, (Creme brûlée) was magnificent and the Chocolate Paradise cake was heavenly (but shareable). Overall, Bazille is one of the best restaurants in the TC. The one issue is the wait times for food, but they are completely worth the wait. I would strongly recommend that you visit Bazille for lunch

This place is ok but food and service could be way better. Last time I went, our server/bartender was clearly under the weather and cream colored snot was dropping out of his nose. I completely lost my appetite and was also very nervous to get sick from him. I know that restaurant workers are hard workers and will typically work no matter what but it's important to remember hygiene, sanitation and guest health. Overall there's a great vibe and I like the layout/design. Also really dangerous to get a few drinks and walk right out into the most amazing shopping!

Pretty great The decor and overall feel is very upscale feeling. It almost feels like a restaurant in a fancy city somewhere. The wait staff was attentive and polite despite the lunch rush that came shortly after we were seated. I had the crab bisque which was fantastic as well the chicken and goat cheese panini which was good but not great. The fries and olive aoili were on point however. The price was also relatively cheap. Overall pretty good, but could be better for the price.

You know that feeling. That one you get while you are at the mall or in my case a town shopping center and you know you need to eat, but you don't want to walk down to the food court / restaurant row because it's too far? Nordstrom took care of that. I thought going to the St. Johns Town Center during the last weekend before Christmas would be hazardous enough but I found some brave friends to meet me there to go to Bazille. Parking was painless for me as there was plenty of open spots outside of Nordstrom. Thanks to the previous reviews I was able to find it on the second floor. I highly suggest making reservations before going here because it was wayyyy busy when I got there around noon. I had made reservations for 5 of us but we grew to 9 and thankfully the staff accommodated all of us at two pushed-together tables. Looking around, there's booths, regular tables, several high top tables and of course the bar. The decor is very modern chic to go with the store. There's even a huge window where you can see into the kitchen and watch your dishes being prepped and cooked. I started off with a glass of Moscato but half-way during the meal I switched to the Blueberry Lavender Martini. GREAT GOOGLY MOOGLY!!! This is the cocktail of 2014!!! It has vodka, lavender syrup, lemon juice, and blueberries. You know you want one now hahaha. I was trying to decide between the Fresh Berry and Fig Salad and the Flat Iron Steak Frites when I caved and went for the heavy stuff, the Steak Frites. I'll save the healthier eating for another day. For me, this steak was no joke as it was 10 ounces of beef so I was worried that I'd be miserable afterwards. The entree also contained herb butter for the steak, baby arugula salad, and Bazille fries served with kalamata olive aioli. I was taken aback by the aioli because it was light purple in color but a friend reminded me that's the color of the olives. Whew, ok. The Southern girl in me would have liked some kinda steak or BBQ sauce instead of the herb butter but the steak was so juicy and tender it didn't matter anymore. The fries were shoestring size but a good size portion and the aioli made the perfect dip for them. Loved that dip. We were all happy with our entrees and sides for the most part: the French Dip, Pepperoni and Mushroom Pizza, Grilled Shrimp and Asparagus Rosotto, Mushroom Risotto, Hummus with Rosemary Flatbread. We all had no room for dessert afterwards, except for another Blueberry Lavender Martini. Yeah, that was my dessert. When the bill came, there were no surprises. The prices were very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food presented. I'd definitely come back to this restaurant. Shop in Nordstrom? I dunno about that yet.

Love, love, love this place. The food is amazing and they have a full bar. The staff is friendly and relaxed. we're there for dinner at least once a week. Highly recommend.

I went here to kill time and really wanted to try this place. For now I will give it a three star review until I come back again. I ordered the flat iron steak frites. It was good (& the fries) but it was too salty for my liking. If it didn't have so much salt I probably like it a lot better. The service was great and the place is cute for being in a department store. I will update when I come again and try something else.

Where do you go with your girlfriends for lunch? Bazille fits the bill. What I liked most is that there was no rushing to get us out the door and the place was packed, I am sure they would have liked to turn the table over, but we got to sit and visit all we wanted. Food was excellent, asian salad, nicoise salad, croque madame sandwich and a shared key lime dessert. And I loved the chewy crusty bread. We all belonged to the clean plate club. Waitress was a little too perky for my taste, but that beats being ignored. Setting feels modern and nice. Noise level was OK, we could talk to one another across the table. My tip is make a reservation. I didn't even think about it and we had to wait for a table.

Food is pretty good, and seems freshly made. Service is average in friendliness, but I asked for ketup from two different people, one of them my waitress, and it took about 12 minutes to receive it, by which time I had finished the main portion of the meal. It's hard to enjoy a meal when you feel you are missing a key ingredient, and it isn't my job to go out of my way to chase down those things. Yes it was a simple mistake, but made by two people, so don't expect good or accurate service, but do expect pretty good and fresh food.

Vergy good food at an affordable price. I had the Prime Rib au jus and it was outstanding! Best prime rib sandwich I've ever had by a longshot. My wife had the crab mac and cheese, and while the crab was very tasty it was a little overdone on the cheese sauce. It was more liquid sauce than actual pasta and crab. But a good taste. Overall a very good meal for the money and the service was outstanding. Will definitely be returning.

My husband and I stopped in for a quick lunch date. We were blown away by the service from the moment we stepped in. Our waitress was very attentive. We ordered the brushetta to share...yummy. Hubby had the Salmon risotto and I had the Roast Chicken Pomme Frit. The portion size was huge. The chicken was tender and juice packed with flavor. We opted to share an apple cobbler. We definitely found a new favorite place to eat!!

Read about this on Yelp and so glad we took the chance. This is a 5 star restaurant nestled in a department store. No one would ever imagine (except of course, the owners) that a day of shopping could be capped off by such a tantalizing, innovative menu and such an evocative cocktail menu. We enjoyed every second of the experience. Our server Jeff implored us to trust his judgement on everything from starters to dessert and he was en pointe every time. A must try!

We went here for lunch on Father's Day. We were immediately greeted by the wonderful smile and attitude of our server, Megan. She knew everything about the food and the drinks and even some interesting little facts not on the menu. We started with the Calamari that was alright and the Soup de Jour, a white bean chili with roasted chicken and cheddar cheese. The bread was amazing and complimented the chili well. For meals, we had the pepperoni pizza, Salmon Noisse Salad and the Roasted Chicken and Goat Cheese Panini. For was very good but the dressing on the salad was a little heavy. I could have eaten a dozen of the paninis though. YUM YUM! We also had the Blueberry Lavender Martini, Rent Check and the Smoke and Heat. All the drinks were really fantastic but the Rebt Check was the best.

So glad to have finally made it over to Bazille, after seeing them (and missing the food) at Moonbeam Bash! And, we saved it for a very special double date night, so was really excited about checking out the amazing cocktails... I started with the most intriguing, Smoke and Heat. Mezcal, jalapeno syrup, grand marnier, oj and alderwood smoked sea salt. This drink was different and amazing. The smoke was an unusual and fantastic twist.. that sea salt, was killer. The huge artisan ice cube chill the flavors perfectly, and this was my favorite drink of the night. I also had the Amelia, (grey goose, st germaine, lemon, and muddled blackberries) and it was a nice summery treat. Same for the basil cucumber cooler.. can't beat a drink with cucumber and basil, in my eyes. (or mouth.) Now to apps. We had the calamari, (fantastic with the dipping sauce) and the bruschetta, which was fresh, and flavorful.... and I actually loved the way it was presented, all separate, so we could easily cut bite sized pieces of each component to share. For dinner, I had the Shrimp and asparagus risotto. I really love how the portion sizes aren't so huge here.... it left plenty of room for dessert! The asparagus had a nice char to it (love that) and the risotto was good... just missing a bit of something I can't put my finger on. For dessert, we got the bread pudding and the creme brulee. The bread pudding was fantastic! (It was presented like french toast... love the crispy outside on all the sides, so everyone could enjoy a bite) and the creme brulee was solid. Definitely on the list to hit up again!

The salad was one of the best I have every had. The steak was done just right. And then the bread pudding was a hit. Our server Megan was a delight and made us feel like family. I will be back again. Try it and you will be happy you ate at Nordstrom.

MY INSTANT FAVORITE PLACE! For my birthday my girlfriends took me out to lunch to this amazing place. From the moment we sat down to the moment we left it was pure pleasure. Beautiful and modern decor and very attentive staff. list of items ordered: Smoke and Heat cocktail-Different but absolutely wonderful..I drank it so slow because i wanted it to last forever! Brushetta- Delicious, I love the arugula pesto sauce Calamari-Delicious Flat iron steak- Flavorful minus french fries, not to crazy of french fries Shrimp and Asparagus risotto-Absolutely Amazing!! Chocolate cake- was ok if you're a chocolate fan, not my preference Bread Pudding dessert- BEST bread pudding ever!! I couldn't believe how great this place was overall! Seriously even writing this review my mouth is watering! I can't wait to return!

Atmosphere is beautiful The decor is very trendy The staff is extremely hospitable ! I like how it's upstairs and there are big windows You can purchase their items in the front . Walking around Nordstrom we were welcomed with fresh pizza , to come in and try their restaurant ! A nice touch The best part about this place are the cocktails and the desserts ! They have a lot of fresh and innovative Cocktail ingredients like lavender syrup. The white chocolate raspberry bread pudding I hear is legendary ! The food is like cafe food, just for a light bite while your shopping but a bit price for the portion size. Nothing I tasted was worth the price or extraordinary . The service finished nicely with Nordstrom chocolate sticks :)

I had heard good things about Bazille since it opened and when a friend wanted to go out for drinks on my birthday, it seemed like a great place to try. It was a Monday night and when we showed up the place was pretty empty. We went for drinks but ended up also trying a few food items. One friend ordered a beer but myself and Daisy S. ordered the Amelia (grey goose vodka, st. Germain cordial, fresh lemon juice, muddled blackberries). The drink was a super pretty color and very tasty. I would absolutely order it again. We also tried the calamari, margherita pizza, and tomato soup. The calamari was cooked perfectly, not chewy at all but very lightly breaded. The margherita pizza is a very good size. There were three of us and we each had a couple of pieces. I had a tiny taste of the tomato soup and it was super fresh. You honestly could have poured it over spaghetti, it was so tomato-y and tasty. The real star though, was our waitress. I wish I could remember her name but she was an older lady who was fantastic. She was so friendly, offered suggestions, and could not have been more helpful. After this experience, I'm really looking forward to visiting Bazille again.

Bazille. I like you- you're really cool. I even like that you're inside a shopping mall- it's like you're hidden in plain sight- like Waldo. Your atmosphere is awesome- I liked how the rain was cascading down your huge windows- making each panel look like one of those water fixtures you see in even fancier restaurants. I liked our server- how she enjoyed her job and let us sample wines before ordering. I liked my gin and tonic- how it was mainly gin. Yay gin. 1st course: Bruschetta- this was awesome- unbelievable mozzarella, that resembled a quivering poached egg atop the grilled bread. Great ricotta was smeared on the side, coupled with one of the freshest, most flavorful pestos I've encountered. I wish the tomatoes could have been heirloom- to add another depth of flavor. But hey. 2nd course: Ahi tuna appetizer- ok not great. Ample cubes of fresh tuna, decent asian dressing- but your wonton crisps were over fried. They made the entire dish taste a bit burnt- not a good combo when you're dealing with raw fish. 3rd: The steak. This was recommended. Highly. Unfortunately it was one of the worst steaks I've had in a while. No real sear- one side completely grey- and a center that was medium at best. Whoever is working your grill or flat top needs to be shown the light. Brussel sprouts were bland- why not throw them in your amazing blast furnace pizza oven? We sent this whole dish back. Wah-wah. 4th: Risotto with shrimp. Ok. Nothing special. I had heard the risotto was bomb here. This risotto was not cooked properly. Risotto is supposed to spread out on the plate- not clump together in a rigid sort of ball. It's a creamy delicate dish- not here. Shrimp were decent- slightly over cooked and honestly not the freshest either. A squirt of lemon and some requested parmesan helped- but really? This should be a homerun. Fix your risotto recipe. 5th: Salmon nicoise. Great salad- honestly- no complaints here. Flavors, depth, execution- all solid. If this is your kinda thing- it's a good bet. 6th (replacement for steak): Parma ham/pesto Pizza: They fly the dough in from New York and you can tell. It's fantastic. The problem however was there was waaay too much oil from both the pesto and the finishing drizzle- which made the whole thing a bit soppy. Additionally- the ham is capital S salty- so the whole thing was a bit over the edge in that department. Great crust though. Overall- it's got great ambience but the food misses marks in more than a few places.

This is one of my favorite places to go eat with friends. Whenever I am unsure of where to go to grab a quick bite, this would be my go to place. The staff is always professional and friendly and the food is absolutely amazing. I highly recommend the Fresh Berries and Fig Salad.

The decor is breathtaking. The wait staff is friendly and efficient. The reason I give Bazille a moderate rating is because the food, which I expected to be exceptional, was mediocre at best. Upon arrival, I was welcomed by an eccentric hostess. Since you can clearly see the entire restaurant, including the bar and kitchen, from the entrance, in certain this woman contemplates her purpose on this organization at night. Nonetheless, there she is with a smile and a helpful gesture to direct you to your waiting party. Our server immediately greeted me after I took my seat and asked if I wanted another drink besides water. She also returned frequently with refills. For an appetizer, and because it was freezing cold in the restaurant, I ordered the lobster bisque. It was good, but nothing to write home about. For my entree I ordered the Caesar salad because I was running dangerously low on calories for the day and the 400 calorie cup of soup nearly did me in. I popped another 800 on top of it with this salad, but it certainly was not worth it. The grilled chicken was too dry and the lettuce was not crisp. The croutons were the show stealer. Admittedly, the place has excellent bread. Four of my friends ordered the burgers. All of their fries were overcooked and cold. I didn't have a surrounding plate I felt comfortable grazing off of. One burger was not add ordered and since aioli is the only sauce available, and all of them asked for it on the side, the burgers were dry. Although they graciously supplied replacements, it was a bit of a hot mess. In defense if Bazille, we had 16 people in our party and I believe they were trying to serve us all at the same time. They probably should consider serving by table, not group. Also, my last meal out was at the French Pantry, so my bar was pretty high going in to this experience. It was not a bad experience overall, but I will not be returning. There are plenty of people who can make soup, salad, and moist chicken in Town Center.

I get together regularly with an old colleague for drinks and it was that time again. She put me to the task to find a hot new place on Yelp. Bazille fit the bill and was very convenient from the office for our Friday night gathering. I was a little early for our reservation so opted for a cocktail at the bar while I waited. I went for the Mai Tai Chi. It was quite tasty and a sweet sipper. When the rest of our party showed up we were seated in a booth next to the kitchen. We started with the Ricotta & Tomato Jam Jar. The crostini were hot out of the oven and buttered beautifully. The waiter was happy to bring us more crostini so none of our tasty app would be left behind. For my entree, I went with the Crab Macaroni & Cheese. It was bubbling hot out of the oven. Definitely would order again, but want to explore more of the menu. Hard decisions.

It was clearly a case of Serendipity that we happened upon this cool venue on the 2nd floor of Nordstrom's with a southern view overlooking extensive parking and Seasons 52. With a prompt reservation via Open Table, we arrived on time to find an upbeat and modern restaurant that was happy we had darkened its doors. The experience of dining there seemed to be a very pleasant blur of time because everything seemed to be working perfectly like a rhythm section locking into a jazzy groove to keep the crowd moving and shaking to the beat. Moving on an eclectic and simple menu, the service supported moments very attentively as the kitchen played the melodies on the plates. We did not wonder for long how this new restaurant in an upscale department store in the St. John's Town Center was taking its local competition to school by simply executing the menu selections perfectly. For example, my friend had the steak with an herbed butter sauce and I had the stunning angel hair pasta and chicken....the fresh tomato sauce was bursting with a resilient quality I have rarely seen. Yes, I know your question...where is the "wow" in that? How many of the finest restaurants in Jacksonville, FL could mess that up? Unfortunately, the answer is too many....I will be sending kitchen grade thermometers out for Christmas to the places I forgave. Bazille is one of a handful of restaurants that gets it right with brave fresh flavors and....a fat chocolate cake that I will remember for a long time.

I like Bazille. I finally gave it a try last week with hubby and sister. I was skeptical about going to a restaurant in a department store, but looking at reviews and their menu, we decided to give it a try. it's a really cool place, especially after a long day of shopping, it's really nice to just stop and get a drink and/or a bite to eat. I ordered the Amelia to drink. It was delicious. We also tried their soup and appetizer special, which was a corn clam chowder and pork belly. Both were pretty good. I ordered the Croque Madame, hubby ordered their prosciutto & arugula pizza, and sister had the grilled shrimp risotto. Overall everything tasted good. But what is keeping me from being a fan of Bazille is everything is a bit over salted. My sandwich and hubby's pizza were also a bit greasier than expected. The deserts were great, we tried their bread pudding and beignets (from specials menu). Both were delicious. I'd go back again to try their food. Their drinks and desserts are definitely terrific.

been here plenty of times. I have not had one thing I didnt like. The lobster mac is amazing, The Asian chicken salad is really good. Please note that the sticks are real bread and I didnt notice until i was done with the salad. lol I want to go into detail about this Turkey panini sandwich but you guys may think I am crazy. It was the most amazing sandwich I have ever had. I took my slow time to eat that. It was the perfect combination of Goat cheese, roasted tomatoes, turkey and bread. I mean It was too good I would hurt someone if I was denied that sandwich. You guys please try this place at least once. the drinks. The Hibiscus mojito, the Chocolate martini, and the creme brûlée I want to go back again and again..

Did you theres a hidden restaurant on the 2nd floor of Nordstrom? Cause there is and its pretty damn swanky. There is an article stating is cost 800k to build it. LIke they say: If you build it, they will come. jaxdailyrecord.com/shows… On Bazille's menu it says: WE CARE That's why we're committed to bringing you local, sustainable and organic foods and environmentally friendly products. Like: -Milk that's free from BGH -Cage free eggs -Organic produce items including baby lettuce, baby spinach and arugula -Locally sourced produce and organic tomatoes when available -Organic iced tea -Products that are free from hydrogenated and partially- hydrogenated fats or oils I love the Asian Chicken Salad(I added pears...so good!), The Arugula Prosciutto Pizza(the presentation is damn sexy), The Mushroom Risotto, The Shrimp and Asparagus Risotto, and one of the best drinks The Blueberry Lavander Martini: Local Craft Vodka, Fresh Lemon Juice, Muddled Blueberries Cot damn! This drink is the shit! The 1st time I went with my friends we ordered like 12 and it's a must every time. The lavender is what makes it unique. The visual appeal alone will make you order it. Ask for extra blueberries cause its free. The vibe is upscale, classy and the kitchen is in a glass room so you can watch them make your noms. Its medium priced, but it's worth it in my opinion. I also tried the Apple Tart with Vanilla Ice Cream and I added Raspberry sauce on the side. Loved it. In the end, you can't go wrong with Bazille. Come get you a Booberry Lavender Martini! Ok.....This place is on the second floor of Norstrom...odd, but holy delicious! From start to finish, every thing was top notch and so flavorful! The drink called Smoke and Heat taste like a margarita infused with jalapenos and had a rim with salt that was smoked giving it a bbq kind of flavor. It was different but great! Our bruschetta and calamari appetizers were delicious and we shared the flat iron steak and grilled shrimp and asparagus with risotto, which were both cooked to perfection. We decided to tackle dessert and THANK goodness because we were rewarded with the BEST bread pudding I've ever had and the reason I will be going back for more. We had a chocolate cake with salted caramel sauce but although good, it was in no comparison to that bread pudding. I'm SO glad if found this place!

Now I don't usually do this, but Bazille deserves a 5 star rating even if it was my first visit. I have previously been invited to this restaurant, but have often declined. Either something else would be on the agenda or I did not want to deal with the TownCenter traffic. I went last night with a couple of friends, and am sorry I missed out before. Since I did have a hard day at work, a cocktail was definitely needed. I began with the Billionaire. That name alone had me from the start. This cocktail included Marker's Mark and this woman loves her whiskey! It was so good, I had to order another. My meal was the Cilantro Lime Shrimp Salad and it was extremely tasty. This salad was a combination of red peppers, tomatoes, a bed of greens, plump shrimp and crispy wontons with a dressing that was out of this world yummo! To end the meal, we ordered dessert. They were the Chocolate Paradise, an apple cobbler and creme brûlée. Because I was full to the rim, I only had a taste of the Chocolate Paradise and apple cobbler. Both were fabulous! I may leave room for a little dessert nex time. Oh yeah, there will be a next time. Definitely worth treating yourself to Bazille! You can thank me later. LOL!

First off I must say that Bazille makes one heck of a Blueberry Lavender Martini!! I think I've finally found my favorite drink! My first trip to Bazille was with a group of friends the weekend before Christmas. Since Bazille is inside of Nordstrom at the St. John's Town Center I thought it would be a nightmare to find parking so close to the holidays, but surprisingly I found a spot right in front of Nordstrom's!! I took the escalator up to the second level and found Bazille right behind the women's fitness section! It's pretty convenient being able to dine inside a department store/also makes it a challenge if that's all you're trying to do...lol! Anyways, the interior is nice with an open view into the kitchen, some booths under the windowed area that lets you see into the kitchen, high top tables that give you a view out the back windows of Bazille, tables and stools for those sitting at the bar. On my first visit I initially started with a diet coke, but quickly switched to the yummy Blueberry Lavender Martini after I saw a bunch of my table mates drinking them and raving about it! I also went with the Mediterranean hummus and rosemary flatbread as my dish. On my next visit I again had the Blueberry Lavender Martini, but this time I paired it with the prosciutto and arugula salad pizza(the dough for the pizzas gets shipped in from NYC!), both dishes were very good! If anything though, those Blueberry Lavender Martinis alone warrant a trip to Bazille! :-)

I thought that a restaurant located in Nordstroms would be obscenely overpriced but I am SO glad that I was proven wrong! The food and drink menu were pretty extensive and offered a little of everything. The prices were very comparable to a nice sit down restaurant somewhere else and the food was fresh, fast and tasty. The calamari appetizer was nicely fried and surprisingly huge. Both my pizza and the fiance's panini were also amazing and we scarfed ours meals down pretty quickly. Even though I was skeptical of eating in a store that you just shopped it, I have to admit that this place won me over. It's a perfect spot to drink and munch when you get tired of all that shopping!

A restaurant inside of a department store? I'm not gonna lie, I was very skeptical. Then I started hearing good things from my foodie friends, so decided to give it a shot. Bazille is located inside of Nordstrom on the second floor. We got there pretty early for lunch, but the place was already packed (good sign!) We were given complimentary bread to start with. I ordered the Crab Macaroni and Cheese. The macaroni was very good and I liked how they had a big slice of cheese baked right on top! There were big hunks of crab and the dish was very flavorful. I also got a side of Mushroom Risotto. I am always on the lookout for risotto, so I was really excited to find it here. And let me tell you, it was glorious!!! The risotto was very creamy and the mushrooms were plentiful. After every bite I commented about how good it was. Not kidding. My husband got the Prime Rib French Dip. He was also very impressed and said it was one of the best french dips he has ever had. He also commented on how great the fries were. I snagged one, so I can also vouch for them! They tasted like truffle parm fries...delicious! Verdict: Loved it!!! Wow, this place is good. We were in the car on the way home and still talking about how good it was. This was seriously one of the best meals we have had in a long time. The food was spectacular and the service was wonderful. Go there!

Bazille, located on the second floor of the Jacksonville's Nordstrom, has been an absolutely a wonderful find. I have had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant twice, and both times have been pleasurable. On my first trip, I had the French Dip sandwich with a couple glasses of wine. The sandwich and wine were amazing. I finished the experience off with what has become my one and only favorite martini, the "Blueberry Lavender Martini"...simply delicious! On my second trip, I had the Roasted Chicken & Goat Cheese Panini...amazing. Another glass of wine and a taste of the previously mentioned martini. This time the martini was good, but presentation was lacking as they ran out of martini glasses...how can this happen??? On both occasions, the service was very good and the servers very knowledgeable and accommodating. So on days when I just want to kick back, browse or shop with friends, Bazille will definitely be at the top of my list.

Oh So Fancy! This is a beautiful small restaurant located on the second floor of Nordstroms, very modern and comfortable, it reminded me of a restaurant in NY, very cool..... Me and a friend wandered in and were seated at a high top table immediately, there was a wait for a regular table, they seemed pretty busy, on this sunday afternoon. Now the food......Oh My Gosh....the brushetta....the bruschetta....it was delicious!!! I have had some good Brushetta before (Biscottis, b.b.'s) but this has to be my favorite way having it.......it was different....a good hunk of bread was grilled then had a burreta(?) cheese ( described as mozzarella on outside ricotta on inside) on top, two thick slices of tomato, and oil/vinager drizzled on top, with micro greens and a pesto sauce(?) ........really, really, good!!! Like ill dream about this dish, that good...lol Next, the entree's: We got the crab mac and cheese served with small salad, and the french dip with french fries...... These were both good, they seem to have really good bread, the french dip was salty and chewy... The crab mac and cheese, was good, big pieces of crab in a real cheese sauce, even the salad was good. This is a welcomed addition to Jax., on a side note when you leave Nordstroms from the side connected to the rest of Town Center, they have it set up really nice like a chill out area with tables and chairs, lounge set up....they have a Coffee Bar also called Nordstroms EBar that looked great.....we were still stuffed but i would love to grab a coffee and pastry and hang out, the next time i make it out here.

Bazille is conveniently located within Nordstrom at Saint Johns Town Center. The have an escalator and an elevator which can bring you to the second floor where it is. I came here with my mother for lunch after shopping at the Nordstrom. We were greeted by two friendly female hostesses who promptly sat us at a high top table (their are regular tables and booths). There is a floor to ceiling window that over looks the part of the town center but we were not seated close enough to see down only out. However, because of this window we had sunshine coming in which made for great lighting and it was warming to my back. We ordered the French Onion Soup, the Berry and Dried Fig Salad and the Prosciutto, arugula pizza. We were given bread and butter while we waiting and a large glass of water to fill our regular sized glasses of water. When the soup came (it came out before the meal) it was perfect! Just the right temperature and the cheese was a perfect savory flavor! Delicious. The Salad was also incredible, their was just the right amount of goat cheese and berries, also nuts. The pizza was phenomenal, I have never had arugula as a topping on my pizza but it did not disappoint! It gave the pizza a nice crunch and kind of made me feel like I was eating a healthy pizza (Yeah Right!) and the prosciutto was oh so yummy! We ended up splitting the bill and after tip spent $20 each, which was reasonable for the quality and portions of food. We did have left overs but our bellies were very satisfied! On a side note, the bathrooms are not located inside the restaurant but are acutally located just outside of the restaurant, to the left in between women's lingerie and clothing (where the elevator is).

Before Nordstrom opened at the Town Center, I got to do a tour of the facilities and culminating that tour was a fabulous tasting of food and beverages at the restaurant upstairs, Bazille! Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted with a scrumptious array of tasty treats off the Bazille menu! Everything is made to order and you can watch the chefs prepare your meals from your table. I've always loved that option! I was very excited to get a sample of their dishes. I had no complaints what so ever!!! The toast points came with a delicious concoction of goat cheese, pesto, and tomato jam. It was amazingly sweet and savory! I didn't try the tartare but I'm sure it was great. The margherita pizza was divine! You can't really mess that up though...can you? The Fried calamari was a hit and I usually don't care for calamari. The sweet chili dipping sauce it came with was a perfect match! This shrimp dish was AMAZEBALLS! It had a peanut buttery thai flavor to it! The cocktails were pretty great too! My friend, Cathy had the Blueberry Lavender Martini and I had the Smoke & Heat, a fancy magarita! The salt around the rim was a smoky sea salt giving the drink a very distinctive yet yummy taste! I also had the Amelia. which had fresh mulberries in it! YUM! Both cocktails were delicious! Overall, I was very impressed with Bazille. The prices were reasonable, the staff was very attentive and knowledgeable, and the food was delicious! I see Bazille being a great place to meet up with friends after work for happy hour!

I can't wait to eat at Bazille again. We made a reservation one Sunday for 6 people to celebrate my boyfriend's father's birthday. This restaurant gets very busy so I would definitely recommend making reservations -- I think every table was full when we got there. They have a list of specialty cocktails in which everything is either muddled with fresh ingredients or includes a homemade simple syrup infusion. The drinks are very creative and delicious. You do have to wait a bit for drinks, but that's to be expected since they are making everything fresh. It's worth it when they show up. We ordered two appetizers, the hummus and pesto bruschetta. Both were amazing, I would have been happy eating these apps as my meal. For entrees, we got a couple sandwiches and salads. I was impressed with everything, especially the french fries and aioli sauces. Additionally, every member of the staff that helped us was polite, friendly, and in great spirits. From the woman who served us to the man who boxed our food, we were treated great. Of course, being located in Nordstrom's, it's pretty pricy, but I think it's worth the money and experience.

First off this place is INSIDE Nordstrom on the 2nd level. So glad we kept looking till we found it! Food was awesome, our waitress was super sweet (I think her name was Megan), and the atmosphere was modern and clean. My only complaint was when we got there, there were about 8 open tables and the hostess didn't seat us because the "kitchen was behind". No biggie, I do not mind waiting for food but why not plop us down somewhere and give us some bread and waters? Once we sat though everything we got was sooo good! The tea is to die for, organic raspberry unsweet tea yum! All in all best place I've eaten since I moved to Jacksonville. I will most definitely be back!

Love this place! Two experiences: one in the bar area and one in the restaurant area. Only difference was service; felt like the fellow tending to us in the bar area was WAY more attentive and spot-on than the gal who tended to us in the restaurant area. I have no doubt she was either new, or having an off night and it was nothing that would stop us from returning. That being said: the food here is really good! And really, when it comes down to it, it's all about the food -- right? I'll give anything a second chance if the experience tickles my taste buds. If you know you're planning on eating, be sure and make a reservation. The restaurant was empty the day we ended up in the bar area, but we didn't have a reservation; I'd say it stayed empty until about 20 minutes after we arrived. You can use Open Table to reserve here, so that's a huge plus!

The following review was published under my byline in the Florida Times-Union on Thursday, November 20, 2014. This is an original, unabridged version of that review. Most new dining spots at the St. Johns Town Center are serving their food with a healthy side of buzz. And I don't mean coffee. Marketing buzz takes the form of flashy grand openings, foodie blogger dinners and behind-the-scenes media tours. These have become the norm for many A-list operators vying to be the hottest flavor at one of the country's hottest retail destinations. But you might be hard-pressed to locate one of the Town Center's newest eateries, which keeps a low profile by design. Bazille, one of Nordstrom's 16 in-store dining brands nationwide, opened October 3 at the new store on Town Crossing Drive. Take the escalator one flight up, pass intimates and winter wear and head to the south entrance wall. There you'll find the "rustic American" bistro's 150-seat dining room and full bar, with scenic vistas of the parking lot. This is the Town Center, after all. The full-service restaurant dishes up a selection of homemade soups, entrée salads, sandwiches, pizzas, specialty entrees and desserts in a shared lunch-and-dinner menu, along with a wine list and specialty cocktails. Early diners will find a handful of options on a separate breakfast menu. Bazille is positioned as a part of the Nordstrom shopping experience. It seeks to attract diners from among people already in the store, as opposed to being a standalone destination (hence the low marketing profile). That being said, you don't need to show a receipt to dine here. My trusty review crew showed up Friday for an early dinner seating, when the dining room was still sparsely populated. Within an hour, the joint was jumping. We got under way with two starters. The Ricotta & Tomato Jamjar ($7.95) mashed up sweet tomato jam, ricotta cheese, herb pesto and extra virgin olive oil and came with longboard crostinis. It was a sweet spreadable joy to share, and a reminder that tomato is a fruit! The Mediterranean Hummus ($8.95) was a smooth and creamy mound with intermittent chunks of feta and kalamata olives, infused with smoky garlic overtones and served with rosemary flatbread. Ask your server for more bread on each. One of my friends paired two sides as her entrée. The Brick Oven Brussels Sprouts with Roasted Garlic Butter ($6.25) were satisfyingly buttery but not inspired in the flavor department. The same could be said for the Mushroom Risotto with Parmesan Cheese ($5.95), a creamy number that needed greater punch. The personal-sized Prosciutto & Arugula Salad Pizza ($10.95) got a nice kick from its namesake protein, which comingled with fontina and parmesan cheeses. The organic baby arugula topping seemed more a garnish than a flavor contributor, though. Among the sandwich selections, the Croque Madame ($11.50) was a winner. It blended Black Forest ham and Dijon mustard with mornay sauce and gruyere cheese between grilled sourdough and under an over-easy egg. Don't miss the side of thin-cut seasoned fries with Kalamata olive aioli. My entrée, the Crab Macaroni & Cheese ($13.95), combined orecchiette pasta with fontina cream sauce, gruyere cheese and jumbo lump crabmeat underneath a breadcrumb-laden lid. While I had hoped for more crabmeat sightings, I'd still come back for this creamy, crunchy contradiction in a dish. Bazille offers five desserts. We chose the Chocolate Paradise Cake ($5.95), a layered skyscraper of moist devil's food with toffee-embedded icing and caramel sauce. This beast is best tamed with friends. While Bazille doesn't offer happy hour deals, its healthy wine list and adventurous signature cocktail catalog are worth browsing for seriously innovative libations. All things considered, Bazille is a casual spot you can dress up or down, serving well thought-out takes on American classics with bistro snazziness. It's a nice perch to unwind at after a day in the Town Center trenches. Or just because. Super Fancy, Hoity toity is some of the words I have heard to describe Bazille. Yep it is all of that and some dang tasty food too. I mean I could eat here a lot and whole lot. I do like this style of dining and well deserve it too. I work hard for my money and I like to have good things. Good food is a must t me. Today I was in the town center for a special someone's present and I really don't like the town center. I dislike the parking. I dislike the crowds. But I like Bazille after this. I wondered thou the store looking and not finding anything that I was looking for. I thought food, Heck I'm a fat kid food isn't far from my every thought. I found the place in the middle of the brassieres and the panties. The view from the restaurant (the other way) was a nice view of the town center, center. I ordered the flat iron steak or steak frites but I went with the mushroom risotto. First my steak was cooked as ordered and seasoned properly. The risotto was however some of the best that I have ever eaten. The rice was soft but firm and very creamy. The flavors of the mushroom was almost heavenly. Should a good flavor there is not a lot of words coming to my head. It was a glorious meal and I really can't wait to do it again. This time I'm bringing someone special. Lucy......

The drinks are expertly crafted. The cheese appetizer in the jar was amazing. The steak and fries were delicious. I would recommended this place to anyone visiting Jacksonville.

One of the best lunches I have ever had!! The atmosphere is lovely and you don't realize there is a whole department store just steps away. The decor is attractive and there is a whole glass wall so you can watch the kitchen staff as they work. The cocktails were inventive and quality. Top shelf spirits which were not inexpensive, but still reasonable for the hand crafted effort. I ordered the Amelia (vodka, St. Germain. Lemon juice and fresh muddled blackberries) which was absolutely delicious. The GM75 (grand mariner and prosecco with lemon juice) was also delicious!! The whole menu looked amazing and it was tough to decide. Ended up with a cup of the crab bisque which is tomato based but still creamy. It hits the right spot with regard to thickness and richness...filling but it was not congealing on the spoon, which I find happens at a lot of restaurants. The salmon Niçoise salad was refreshing and an excellently sized portion. Salmon was fresh and veggies were crisp. Only complaint was a heavy hand with dressing. My dining companion ordered the croque madam sandwich, which was cooked perfectly and topped with a nice runny egg also cooked to perfection. Originally they were having issues with the fryer so they offered her a small garden salad; however the fryer came back online while we were eating and they brought her the fries in addition to the salad. They were also cooked perfectly. Creme brûlée for dessert was cold on the bottom and hot on top as it should be. Crisp sugar shell was not burnt. Bazille adds a twist with a dollop of lemon curd on top which was unbelievable! Can't wait to come back and try everything else on the menu!!

One of the best meals I've had in Jacksonville. One of the best cocktails I've had ever. I struggled for a long time trying to decide on a drink and on my meal because every option sounded heavenly. Alas, with advice from our amazing and attentive server, I had the lavender and blueberry martini (nectar of the Gods), calamari and French onion soup shared with the hubs and then topped it off with the roasted chicken and pommes frites. You will not be disappointed with that combination of fireworks for your taste buds. Do it. Now. And then shop for shoes like I did

Fantastic food, ordered the prime rib french dip. The olive aioli for the fries is practically addictive, as is the raspberry tea made with actual raspberries. My server Taylor was also attentive and friendly!

Nordstrom has the right idea marketing to the customer who love their stores and I am a fan. I have eaten at Bistro N in the Galleria, Huston and Cafe Bistros in San Francisco's Union Sq. location. This location hold it own for design ambiance and food quality. I was knocked out to read the cost for adding the full service bar and cafe was like 800.000. No wonder the sides are so expensive. LOL. Open design, with a glassed in kitchen allows the diners to see most of the meal prep, young cooks crafting beautiful dishes aimed to please. I was more interested in looking at the beautiful people enjoying an equally beautiful day while they gazed out the large glass windows. Once we were all assembled the feast began. Full bar as well as craft cocktails are available. I started with a Blueberry and Lavender Martini that was so spectacular I had to have a few more during the meal. Here are some of the items we tasted; Pepperoni & Mushroom Pizza at 11.95. The crust was perfect, chewy flavorful and covered with ample amounts of meat, fresh basil and a combo of mozzarella and aged provolone. Prime Rib French Dip on toasted baguette with a rich au jus @ 14.95 Everything about this dish was delicious. Meat tender and tasty, white cheddar cheese sharp and heady. Flat Iron Steak Fries (my choice) with herb butter and Klamath olive aioli. Cooked just a requested nicely seasoned with a healthy sized order of fries. The side salad of peppery arugula added a new dimension to the dish. Well worth the 18.95 price. Grilled Shrimp & Asparagus Risotto @17.95. I did not taste the shrimp but the presentation was stunning and risotto perfect. A hint of lemon only enhanced it's flavor. The Sauteed chicken and angle hair pasta @ 15.95 was declared tasteless and bland by it's owner. Several others gave it a taste and agreed. This dish was dispatched without question and replaced by Crab Mac & Cheese @ 13.95. Again a fail. So this diner took a pizza to go, her entire meal was comped. I did have a side dish of Mushroom risotto with Parmesan cheese @ 5.95. The rice was perfect and the side portion was large enough to share with the group. This restaurant certainly deserves a visit if your shopping or not.

Very good sliced Prime Rib sandwich. I don't care for little fries. I would definitely go back. A little pricey. Great Service ... Now I know why women spend so much shopping. They eat & drink here in Nordstrom's.

A bit small, but excellent cocktails and service at the bar. Recommend the smoke and heat as a drink and the calamari as a light snack.

Been here twice since they opened. Good: Is service by really geniune caring attentitive people. They still have some growing pains with commuication between staff and others. You may have to wait up to a half an hour if you just walk in with no reservations. Food is very avante garde and fresh, tasty, somewhat creative, and overall good. One of the best Rissoto's I ever ordered outside of my own home kitchen! Do not take end tables near sunlight; way too hot there. Overall very good will come back again.

A spectacular restaurant hidden behind the women's lingerie in Nordstrom! We went first thing on Sunday morning with reservations booked via the Nordstrom web page. It wasn't necessary at that time (11am) but by the time we left it was pretty full. Our waitress, Colleen, was brilliant. She was knowledgeable about the menu and suggested a couple of signature drinks. My husband had a Nor'ester, make with Maker's Mark, Maple Syrup and Ginger Beer. It arrived in a copper mug. Spectacular! I had, on Colleen's suggestion, the Pimento Pomelo, a drink made with Tequila, grapefruit juice and fresh muddled sweet red peppers. It was clean and fresh and I never would have expected it go be as tasty as it was from the list of ingredients. For food, I opted to have a small cup of the Soup of the Day, which was lentil and the special of the day, a grilled Scallop, arugula salad. The soup was thick and loaded with Italian sausage. Probably the best lentil soup I have had. The Salad had 3 large perfectly seared scallops, cherry tomatoes, kalamata olives, grilled asparagus, fresh feta cheese and couscous. Very satisfying. My husband opted for a regular menu item, Flat Iron Steak Frites. The 18.95 price might scare some folks away, but the size of the plate of food that arrived, as well as the quality was worth double the price. It's a 10 ounce steak with herbed butter, sitting on and alongside a huge heaping of thin, crispy season fries and a fairly good sized arugula salad. The fries come with kalamata olive aioli as the dipping sauce. Don't ask from ketchup, this aioli is "slap yo mama good"! The steak was cooked perfectly and well flavored. Overall a very satisfying meal. The price range is higher than say a food court, but for the service and quality of food, it is well worth it. Worth visiting a few times a month. You will forget you are in a shopping mall and just find an eclectic restaurant with interesting food and drinks.

First timer today, tried an amazing cocktail called smoke and heat. My favorite is the intense smell of the smoked salt laced around the rim of the glass. The pizza and calamari were very delcious. Dessert was this pound cake drenched in white chocolate with a few fresh raspberries. Definitely saved the best for last for. I will be coming back!

Simple but delicious breakfast. Over well eggs were cooked perfectly. .I am glad they use cage free eggs and source local organic produce. Service was awesome. (Megan). I'm looking forward to coming back.

Excellent! The view into the kitchen is top notch. The entire restaurant is clean, elegant, and sophisticated. Went for lunch and the meals are simple but well done. Just be sure if you're vegan to ask for no cheese on the hummus appetizer. I had the lime shrimp salad (minus the cheese & passed the shrimp to my bf). Great salad with wonderful presentation. Pomme frites were delicious, and tasted like they were cooked in super clean oil seasoned with salt, rosemary, and parsley. Bf said the kalamata olive Aoli was good. He had the Croqué Madamé which he enjoyed. Highly recommend for lunch or dinner. Located in Nordstroms it keeps out some foot traffic but the place was packed for lunch regardless but there was no wait. Excellent wait staff!

Stopped in for a quick bite during lunch time and ended up staying for more than hour. The food was very good, but it was the excellent service from our bartender, Jen that caused us to stay longer than planned. Somehow, she really made lunch in a department store memorable.

Oh how I love indulging in dinner (or lunch) here after shopping at Nordstrom for a while. It is classy and the food is very good! I haven't ordered anything here I did not like! Can't say the wait staff was as quick as I would have preferred but they were quite busy. Great fine dining establishment!

Finally had the chance to try Bazille at the Town Center. It's definitely a welcome addition to the generic offerings at TC. The decor is simple, yet sophisticated without being pretentious. It was a holiday afternoon, but the wait wasn't too bad. The host was courteous and helpful. Order the steak and frites to see how it stacks up against Orsay's same menu offering. Well it wasn't a flat iron steak but delicious nonetheless. The fries were regular season fries but also great. Also had the Mac n Cheese with crab, it was very good as well. The food is excellent here. Why the 3 star review then? Our waitress was absolutely horrible. Our beverages were filled up exactly once at the beginning, and our waitress, Amy, was much more attentive to the table next to us. I was even slurping loudly to get some water because I was so parched, and Amy continues to ignore us. With all the racial unrest around the country, I can't help but to think there was a little racial profiling going on today. How else would you explain the absolute complete disregard for us? My advice? Great food but the good service is for those of the white.

Bazille is the new restaurant in Nordstrom. Beautiful, contemporary atmosphere with amazing service. There's a window that looks in to the kitchen so customers can see the work going in to all of their food. None of their food is frozen and you can taste how fresh everything is. Even the water is amazing! I got the Crab Macaroni & Cheese w/ arugula salad and a side of Mushroom Risotto w/ Parmesan and I loved it. The Risotto wasn't something to brag about but the Crab Macaroni & Cheese is the best macaroni dish I've had in a while. The portions were just enough and reasonably priced as well. A friend of mine ordered the Crab Bisque which, again, was amazing. Another friend ordered the Arugula Salad Pizza with a Blueberry Lavender Lemonade Martini. Again, everything was amazing. We looked at the dessert menu and ended up not getting anything because I was too full. But the server described the creme brulee and maple apple pie and they sound delicious. Definitely something that I have to try next visit. I recommend Bazille to anyone looking for a comfortable dining experience with an upscale taste.

Wow! What a great place! I have been here numerous times and have had nothing but delicious food. Their cilantro lime shrimp salad is to die for! I am not a salad person, but wow the dressing makes the entire salad. Also the fog and berry salad is pretty wonderful. Again, they are wizards of dressing!! I bought their cookbook just so I could make the salad! I also had their special of mushroom ravioli... You definitely would have to be wanting a heavy meal because it's a very Rich dish. But don't get me wrong it's delicious! I also love their chicken and goat cheese panini! Really delicious, however, the chicken was a little dry the last time I had it. If you are really in the mood for some starters you definitely have to get the the tomato jam jar. WOW IT WAS SO DELICIOUS! Really you can not go wrong with any salad or anything in this place. Truly delicious food! I gave it a four instead of a five because I feel like they should make their chicken moist and not so dry! But the service is great and the shopping after you eat is even better! You must visit this place if you are ever at the town center
