Wednesday nights at Petrillo's is an Italian fest of excellent food and the music of Sonny Petrillo, former owner and father of the current owner. We went as a group of eight, and every dish was superb. The entertainment was funny and filled with great old songs sung very well. My only request would be a choice or two for those of us who must be gluten free. I highly recommend Petrillo's any night, but Wednesday's are just good fun!

Tried this place for the first time tonight, I had the spaghettie and meatballs, and my lady friend had the cheese tortolini. It was all delicious! Our server Kevin was knowledgeable, kind, and courteous. We will be back whenever we crave Italian!

Something happened here, don't know what but we won't be back! For years this was one of our Friday night picks but it has really gone down hill. The draft beer has been broken for at least a month. Always a bunch of kids standing around but nobody came to our table because nobody knew whose table it was. Our friends had food poisoning last week. What a shame, the pizza was really good. They need a manager! The staff staff stands around and talks about how bad the owner is!

Possibly the best pizza in the area. We've been coming here for years. The service is hit or miss but the food makes up for it. This place gets really business when the snow birds are down. Save room for the tiramisu and chocolate cannoli. They also have gelato from time to time.

Great service and great food! We were sad to learn our favorite Italian restaurant was closed since we only come down this way once a year for vacation. We quickly became extremely pleased by Petrillo's fast and friendly device along with awesome food! Brandy was an excellent server!

Looking for a sit-down pizza place, we decided to go here. As we walked in I thought it would be a good candidate for Restaurant Impossible, as the decor is original--looked like the 70's! With that being said--the food was good! Hubby had the shrimp scampi, portion was big but not overwhelming and it was delicious! The dinner salads were nice and fresh, as well. The other four of us had pizza, and I wish our waitress would have warned us!! We each ordered one of the pizzas labeled "personal," and we had so much pizza left over, we made an entire meal the next day! Pizzas were all unique and delicious, glad we came here. I'm sure we will be back!

We hade a big pizza New York style, it was okay but nothing more. The staff was not that friendly ...

Pizza: NY style, with a crispy and chewy crust. The sauce needed more basil and garlic IMO, and was skimpy with the cheese. Our toppings were not exactly what we ordered, but we waited a long time so we ate it anyway. We could overhear that ours wasn't the only pizza order made incorrectly while we were there. The restaurant was clean, service was a bit slow (we weren't asked if we wanted a second beer, and we waited 10 minutes for somebody to initially come to the table after being seated). I recommend the side salad if you love Italian dressing! The large pizza was so big the 2 of us took 1/2 of it home.

My family vacations annually in this area and we always come to Petrillo's at least once for dinner. Recently, a few family members ordered the lasagna and I was super impressed!!! A huge portion, reasonably priced with lots of flavor (I tried some). One of the younger boys took half of it home and I ate it a few days later and was STILL impressed. Some quality, flavorful food at decently (cheap) prices! Seems like a family run joint; super nice staff, good food and very accommodating. Their Margherita pizza is a must try too. We will definitely continue our tradition of coming to Petrillo's...it has yet to disappoint!

The BEST chicken piccata I've ever tasted! I've lived in New York, and I was shocked to find this gem in a beach town...though there is a major Italian influence in the area. Amazing garlic knots, wine, beer, cocktail selections, and friendly staff. The prices are beyond reasonable, I LOVE this place! Their portions are hefty and perfect for lunch leftovers the next day...my husband grew up on Italian food too and we are just in love with this place!

Others continually pop up to claim the title, but decade after decade Petrillo's has one of the best pizzas on the beach. It's always a fine pie. I order my pies well done and they never disappoint. Good crust and a nice sauce, and that's what a pie is about. Petrillo's is a family owned place that's been around here through a couple of generations. They were out at the boardwalk where Bizzarro's is now, but wanted a real restaurant instead of a beachside slice scene. They serve a wide variety of good Italian entrees in a family friendly setting now. Big booths up front to have a pie on a pedestal, take the family into the Frank Sinatra Room, or get a pie to go. It's all good. They might not blow away the discerning taste bud crowd, for whatever that's worth, but you won't go home hungry or broke having diner at Petrillo's. Rob

I can't believe this place only has 1 review. Anyway, I love this place. It's my go-to casual italian spot on beachside. If I'm in the mood for pizza or take-out, this is the restaurant I call up. The pizza is good with plenty of topping options. Love the crust, toppings, etc. The dinners are huge and inexpensive, an order of 1 entree to go comes in 3-4 containers for about $14. Not bad. Overall, I've had nothing but good experiences here. There are fancier italian places on beachside, but for casual, good tasting italian and pizza, this place is tough to beat.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
