I love this place! I've always met the most fun and outgoing people here! Never had a bad experience. I love the use of crazy decor. Reminds me of being back stage of an abandon Amusement park or Hollywood set, that they opened up as a bar ! Relax enjoy and take care of the bar staff! They are so attentive!

Ok, I usually don't have a problem being cut off from a bar, but I do with this one... Especially after 1 round of drinks. My friend and I went out for a celebratory drink and to meet another friend while hanging out at the beach. Our bartender was a seemingly sweet lady with a bright smile and a lot of energy. She is very identifiable by her spiked blonde hair. We ordered a beer and a shot each, quickly taking our shot before heading out on the balcony to hang out. When my friend went inside to use the restroom, the bartender quickly told her that I was cut off and could not have anymore. Fine. No problem. Never mind the fact we were on our first drink. We complied, paid, and TIPPED. Now I have no problem being cut off, as I understand the liability and even safety concerns. It's how we were treated after that is where I have a HUGE problem. We were extremely nice and generous to this young lady and did not receive the same in return. After leaving the bar(without even finishing our drinks), we headed down to the beach so our friend could let her dog play in the ocean. When we returned to our car, we were quickly met by the same bartender and her "security". She then told us we couldn't leave because we had been drinking(1 drink). At this point I feel borderline harassed. Complete overkill. We waited for a minute for the bartender to return to her JOB before driving off. As we drove off, we could see the "security" staring at us waiting to see if we would leave. Apparently he had nothing else to do. Obviously we left and nothing happened to us, because we were adults and didn't do anything wrong. I really hope the owner reads this and retrains the employees on how to handle situations like this better. Good people like us go to bars to have a good time, not to become defensive. Oh, and if you stop someone from driving off... At least offer a cab. Don't just have a guy stare me down. Needless to say I will not return, as they're plenty of other great bars that are much more welcoming. Sadly, this place seems to prefer the private/exclusive biker hangout (which I'll never understand) as opposed to expanding and becoming a premier oceanfront bar attraction it has the potential of doing.

This sucks, we have Been here for over an hour waiting for the band to start. OMG how much karaoke can a person stand? I am soooo board! Okay it is 9:30 and the band isn't even on stage yet, I don't think I endure an another minute of this. Okay may the Umbrella Thevies were worth the wait

The place sucks it's a disgusting biker bar or better yet it's a meat market. There bouncers must be ex cons!!!!!

Super fun bar. Especially if you're say.... Cougar hunting? I'll leave it at that. Rad atmos, not over priced, and usually pretty good bands. Happy hunting. Gurrrrr

Our service was great the entire time we were here. But they were having locals come in to perform all night. Some were good and then you had the opposite. While we were there, no one was on the bottom floor. It created a very crowded upstairs with much room. Overall an okay experience.

Always a great time when in Indiatlantic area (Melbourne Florida) beaches and nightlife. They have always had really good food, service is great, drinks very good and reasonable, interesting decor, and ALWAYS great bands playing. On weekends Lou's is always busy so suggest an early arrival if u want a seat. Dance floor is always packed and a great night can be enjoyed. Security is not tolerant of BS so if you or any of your friends are thinking of causing an issue, they'll throw you out QUICK (have only seen others get thrown out, not us).

It's a different experience and I mean this In a good way. Maybe it's a biker bar? Dunno but the view of the beach and the breeze on the balcony distracted me from the feeling that I might be slumming it. Service is good and friendly, the food arrived quickly and hot. 4 different entrees, all satisfied. The shrimp in the fresh wrap were surprisingly large and perfectly cooked but the coconut shrimp was the crowd pleaser. I thought portions might be small because of the prices - we over ordered with the addition of the appetizer. Great beach find!

Someone previously hit it on the head. Lots of cougar grazing here. Place is a bit dirty and dated. Beer was cold.

Good time. Service was great. We couldn't believe how on-top of it the staff was checking on our drinks.

Tuesday $2 burgers will not disappoint! It's actually steak trimmings and damn good! Staff is fun and on top of it.

    (5)
  • Phil P.

Mediocre burger definitely overpriced, beer half warm. And a tasteless classless game of "Dirty bingo" going on. Just about as much sleazy as you can cram into a beachside bar. If your standards are not too high this might be the place for you!

Incredibly high quality cover band and fun, dancing crowd on a recent Friday night. We were in town the weekend Sandy was skirting the coast and despite the miserable weather outside, this place was packed and felt like a huge, laid back party. No cover, great music, everyone on the dance floor....not much more you can ask for from a local bar.

Went to Lou's with my wife last weekend for some blues music and drinks. The music was good but there were many problems. We parked in the back and a few bikers came up to our car and told us that our spot was taken and to look else where. After getting shooed away by other drunk bikers we finally parked at the Walmart across the street. First we sat downstairs at a table and order oysters on the half shell and beers. The was nice Once inside we tried to get to the bar and order but there was only one bartender working so after 3 or 4 songs we just went toward the dance floor to dance. As we approached the dance floor the owner asked us why we had not purchased a two drink minimum. We told him the bar was understaffed and he became very irate at us. We moved over to the side and just watched the band but he kept starring and pointing at us. Finally he came over to me and my wife and started pushing us to the bar. There were 2 drinks at the bar waiting and he forced us to pay $20 for these then asked us to leave before we even touched them! Bouncer came up to me and took a swing at me breaking my glasses and cutting my nose. We were dragged out of the bar and kicked. The owner seems to be a bully and hot head and we wonder how he can continue to stay in business threatening people? Later that night we became sick from the Oysters and had to go to the hospital. Very bad place indeed!

The husband and I had a late afternoon vacation lunch here. At first I was amused. It's like seeing a haunted house in full daylight. Some places are just meant to always be dark and dingy, you know? The food and service were both great. We were bummed we didn't stumble upon this place earlier.

Stopped in for a drink on the way back to the hotel on a Thursday night. Interesting spot, good bar tender and good band. Decor is, to say the least, interesting. Crowd was very mixed and social. Drove by in Saturday night, place was packed and no parking. Overall I would return for cocktails if I was looking for a relaxed fun time.

  • Knot D.

One of the only places around to dance, but an older crowd (late forties and above). Dance floor could be bigger as you will be banging into everyone all night.

Good food and amazing bar tenders. Did not take long to get our drinks and the burgers were made to perfection.

Had a very nice lunch with excellent view of the ocean. I can highly recommend the grouper rap. And yes that is how it is spelled. The atmosphere is laid back and the staff is friendly. try the sliders you might like them.

Lou's is a fun place for a drink and some dancing. I've been coming here for years and almost always have a good time. They usually have a live band and watching the cougars try and hook up is always fun. 5 stars for drinks and entertainment 3 stars for food. I'm still waiting for someone to fall over the railing

Went there for lunch with my wife and daughter, great food great service, and a nice view of the ocean from the 2 floor terrace. Decided to return for the evening festivities of karaoke and then a live band. Older crowd with lots of good singers, but I was skipped over several times to sing and not because I suck! So when I approached the guy taking names he claimed that all the people who had sung had submitted their names before me, funny thing was that when we arrived a little before 6 there were only a hand full of people in the bar, but as soon as the really good singers walk through the doors they were singing next. So I took my name and my requests and headed to the second floor to watch the activities from above...and yes a little pissed because I like to sing and my wife likes to dance to my songs - mambo#5, devil went down to Georgia, etc etc. So watch out for Chuck when dropping off your name to sing some tunes. On the second floor we had some drama with the bouncer who took my wife's chair while she went to the bathroom and I was standing next to it talking to a guy about the place. When I approached the bouncer he told me no chairs were allowed there after 9:30pm...and I replied dude it's only 8 and that's when the drama started...to make a long story short the end result was him buying us 2 shots of patron because we were celebrating our 20th anniversary, and we just agreed to disagree about him taking my wife's chair without ever so advising. We also met a great couple married for 30 years and the wife was kind enough to go downstairs and ask the KDJ to let me sing a song after I had told my story, and we got to sing and dance 1 song for the folks in the end! To management I think you need to work on servicing your new customers so they come back, or do great reviews on yelp, or tell others that it's a great place to visit.

I knew I picked the right spot when I saw our server was a pretty girl with a shaved head and covered in tats. Stopped here for lunch on a whim while exploring the city on a weekday afternoon. Ordered the wings, a beer and the Dave feister feast. The food was great, the view was cool and our server, Megan, was really fun and friendly. Had an awesome time. Definitely coming back here for lunch again soon.

i love lou's for the prices. other than that, if you're not 65+ don't go. the staff aren't happy to be working, the food is disgusting and do not ever go on a wednesday night for karaoke, you'll be subjected to the worst renditions of the oldest songs by the self absorbed "dj". waste of time and money. sorry lou's, bob neal is giving you a bad rep.

Hubby and I took my Uncle to Lou's when he was visiting this past week. We had not been before and were waiting for a good reason to go since we live just down the street. The beach front location is great. There are not may beach-front places close by. We read the Yelp reviews and laughed at the 85 year old woman singing Frank Sinatra, but I think she was there for karaoke LOL We are in our mid 40s and our guest is in his mid=60s, so we found the crowd fun! All age groups, everyone having a blast. The staff was welcoming and fun! Our server took the time to explain the funky menu names to us. We ordered a few beers and had chips and salsa while deciding. Ended up with an order of a dozen oysters that were fresh and delicious. Also shared the conch fritters, which were just OK, but we're spoiled. The grouper fingers and sweet potato fries were great. Hubby had the blueburger with a generous amount of toasted blue cheese. The regular fries were disappointing and very "high school cafeteria". They need to work on that for sure, we didn't eat any of them. The filet of soul was really good too. We were pleasantly surprised at the freshness of the food and the prices. They had Top 40 dancing starting a bit later, 9:00 I believe, and the place was filling up even more around the time we left. We will be back for food, service and local fun!

Ugh...60 year old's doing karaoke for most of the night. The set up is pretty cool inside though. I wanted to check out some live music but we got there too early and the karaoke was getting unbearable, even on the porch/patio area outside. Cheap drinks...I don't think they serve more than just appetizers. Full liquor, but NO BEERS ON TAP...just bottles.

I love love love Lou's! The atmosphere is awesome the people are great the staff is always friendly! They make a mean Margarita! and the bands are almost always decent! You're made to feel welcome no matter who you are here! Always my first choice for a night out!!

We had a great motorycle ride to Lou's Blues and had lunch there on Saturday out on the deck overlooking the ocean. It was pretty full and Karl Hudson was playing a few acoustic tunes later joined by his bass player friend. Well, lunch was terrific and we stayed because Karl was really good and played allot of the songs from the 70s & 80s while we enjoyed the excellent view. I had the Philly Cheesteak with onion rings and my wife had the Shrip Ceasar Wrap with fries. The waitresses were very attentive and got a great tip! Great food and atmosphere, will be our regular stop!

Musical fun every night of the week here at this beachside pub. A fun, resorty type place, where the staff is friendly and upbeat, and the food is solid good pub style food. I loved the fresh grouper and caesar salad in a spinach wrap! Salty, tangy, caesar-y, with a little cup of slaw on the side. Karaoke and live bands...a fun place, and for all ages. A short walk from several hotels. Did I say its fun? :-)

Great place to escape for a drink or an appetizer when you're hanging out on the beach just below. I've never been here for concerts but it looks like a good spot to do so. Nice staff. Easy parking.

Stopped in here yesterday on a whim. Was driving through the area in the afternoon, on my way back up to Northeast Florida. Saw "Blues" in the name as I passed--I love Blues music--so I made a u-turn, went back, and went in. Did not eat or drink because it was the afternoon, and I was not hungry or thirsty. Did stay for almost an hour though just chatting with two employees and a regular. They told me all about the bar, the area, and other music venues in the area. They were SUPER nice and friendly! I loved the look of the place--kitschy, all kinds of interesting things to look at on the walls. The menu is round, pasted to a vinyl record. Very cute. :) I will definitely keep an eye on their music schedule; if there's a band I want to see, I would drive the two hours south to go see, in a heart beat.

I was out in Melbourne, FL for work. I always try to take in some local nightlife and Lou's was suggested to me. The layout is very cool - upstairs and downstairs bars and a large patio bar. The live band played from a stage that floated in between the two levels. It was as if it was designed to keep rabid fans from rushing the stage and gave me a Blues Brothers flashback "chicken wire?" I also enjoyed the crowd. It felt like your laid back, beach biker bar. I wouldn't be surprised if a Hooper-style brawl started at any minute, but am pretty sure it won't.

Great music. Good crowd. Cold beer. Worth a trip.

Stopped in on a whim (I've driven by it a few times and it looked colorful enough for me). Quite a dive bar once you get inside. Mannequins on every side, zombie heads hanging from the ceiling, Clinton in a corner, bras and panties hanging from the chandelier, and barber chairs for you to sit on and take it all in. But don't let the randomness of the place scare you. The staff are awesome and the crowd is nothing but a good old fashioned time. They don't have much of a selection when it comes to beer and they're limited in their options for karaoke music, but still it is entertaining to see a 85 year old woman sing Frank Sinatra in a place like this. I recommend it because you don't see a place like this often and it is a great place to go out and people watch (if that's your thing). So I suggest stopping in if you ever get the chance, you'll walk away with an interesting story - I know I did.....and it had nothing to do with the 85-year-old-Frank-Sinatra-singing woman.

Great place and excellent service! My wife and I were staying next door at the hotel and decided to try it out. We had a great time, the food was good, and the service was excellent! The staff was very friendly and all seemed happy to be at work, rare in the service industry. We are planning on a trip back to the area and will definitely stop back in again.

  • Rob F.

Lou's is the only show in town when it comes to funky blues joints, so it can't help but make me a fan. I agree that the beer selection is lame and the food lamer, but the parking lot is full of bikes, the place is full of semi-cuetips in leathers, the second floor deck has a great ocean view, which is hard to get locally, they get some great blues acts coming through, and watching the dancers from the balcony can be all the entertainment you can ask for on a Saturday night. BTW, not only was it a Chinese restaurant in a past life, but it also housed a clandestine bordello upstairs. Personally I can't get my head wrapped around the stuffed mannequin baloney and the place feels just a bit desperate, but in a town with limited options, Lou's Blues is welcome with open arms.

    (4)
  • M M.

This is a fun and broad crowd. You pretty much have all walks of life in their on a Firday or Saturday. From the biker to the yuppie! The live blues music is fun and the atmosphere is a lot of dancing and hanging out. The parking isn't too bad, but it can get packed later at night. It's must try for a beach side bar of Melbourne FL. Beer and drinks are pretty cheap too. I will be returning, it's a great place to take friends.

  • Renee V.

Yay! I'm a fan. The food is great, seeing that this is just a bar. I wasn't expecting anything spectacular. But I love the atmosphere here. More for regulars. But glad I stopped by on vaca. I did come back on a weekend, and it was jam-packed. Would definately come back next time!

    (4)
  • Jeffrey M.

It's nice to sit outside upstairs and look out over the water. The food is great and the drink prices are good. Live bands on Saturdays. This is the best biker bar I've found in the Melbourne area. The wings are worth driving for.

  • Rich E.

Again, Yelp lets me down because I can't give 1/2 stars. Lou's is a solid 3 1/2- better than a 3, but not quite a 4. We were in Melbourne for the weekend and, while driving along A1A, saw the sign that causes our car to automatically turn- "KARAOKE!". We were a little late for karaoke, but decided to stay for dinner and the band. The food was standard bar fare- good, but nothing to write home about. The drinks were strong, however, and the service was excellent. Our glasses never went empty and the return trip with more liquor was quick. We went back the next day for karaoke and were equally impressed. The decor is unusual, but I enjoy kitsch, so it was right up my alley. I don't know when I'll be back in Melbourne, but I'll keep Lou's on my list of places to hang out.

Lou's brings back fond memories of my "free" days out in LA cruising the freeways to Mt Wilson on my Norton Commando; a significant difference is that here the parking lot is packed with Harleys, but at least my Norton shared a common trait of two wheels. ;-) Decades have passed by and time continues to speed up. Last weekend I rode to Lou's on my bicycle (hey Harley people, it's still two wheels!), having years ago abandoned bikes and airplanes for university and family and children in that order. I left my bike standing against the back wooden rail, no need to lock at Lou's, then took the back stairs two at a time up to the deck in my Lycras to mix with the black leather clad and heavily accessoried biker crowd. Gray beards, however, have much in common so no one up there so much as blinked an eye or gave me the once over. Lou's is a really really friendly place with great beer prices ... $1.50 for a cold Yuengling ... how's that for terrific value? Add the relaxing view of the sea just meters away, pretty dang good bar food and blues on the juke box and one has it all right there. Is anything about Lou's lacking? OK, one minor point ... I prefer pints of draft beer and a greater selection. The owners of Lou's live in my neighbourhood and someday I will ask them to reconsider their policy of bottle beer only. Unfortunately, the building housing Lou's Blues started life as a Chinese restaurant (The Lucky Lady, if memory serves and it usually does not these days) I doubt whether the cost of installing a draft beer distribution system across two stories can be easily justified. One final comment. I do not know how to assign star ratings to a biker-oriented jazz and blues bar so I gave Lou's 5 stars just because I liked the place a lot and it's a 10 minute walk from where I live. So there.

  • Jennifer B.

Good atmosphere. No draft beer, and a limited selection of bottles, but this isn't a brewery, it's a bar. Even the background music was great, can imagine this place gets rockin' later in the evening. Didn't have food.

Good for the experience, but we won't be going back. The music was good and it was hysterical to see the bra pole, but the beers were not cheap, the food was only okay, and it seemed as if everyone there was a regular.

Cool place...More Blues and less classic rock! Pretty good fast table service. Cold BEER!

  • Cindy J.

A fun, very laid back & friendly spot for live blues. The only negatives are no upstairs bathroom, no draft beer and a pretty weak bottled beer selection. Great value, though as the beers they do have are super cheap.

  • Joe A.

I've been here several times. Food is decent for a bar. Atmosphere is pretty good. The staff quite nice. Lou has been there every time I went. He spends a lot of time wandering through the crowd, talking to people, etc. I think this is great and one of the reasons this place is successful. Music is hit or miss. Some nights it has been great and very entertaining. Other nights, have been mediocre. It all depends on the band.

Always a good time at LB's! In my mid-30's so definitely on the younger side of the crowd, but it's always entertaining to watch the band, drink beer, and
