I honestly don't know how anyone could post a bad reviews about this restaurant. I have literally never had a bad experience nor a bad meal at this restaurant I frequent it often. The people that did not give it 5 stars or people that you can never satisfy! I know for a fact that at least two to three of the owners are always there so they are always watching over everything that goes on in that restaurant. The quality of the food is stellar!

I love the fish and chips here! can't comment on any other dishes because it's the only thing I get when I come here. Its that good.

Great seafood + waterview = AWESOMENESS! the menu offers a comprehensive selection for water lovers and land lovers. The restaurant had several rowdy parties when we went on a Monday night, but hey, it fits in with the restaurant's atmosphere. I got the grouper. Native white fish to Florida. It came with 2 sides: Manhattan clam chowder and steamed veggies. The portion is HUGE! 2 people can definitely share a plate. The chowder was good. I wish they gave more steamed veggies because eating a big fish gets overwhelming after awhile without veggies to break up the monotony. Our group also got the seafood combination. The scallops were cooked right! Not chewy. Perfect consistency.

Great location & beautiful views. The rooms were very nice and clean. We had a blast at Sam's across the street. This was our first time staying here....but it won't be our last.

After finding this hotel on Yelp, we decided to give it a try since it had been recently remodeled. We were very pleased with the room. The bed was very comfortable, as were the pillows. The bedroom and bathroom (which is a little small) is separated from the sitting area and kitchette area. That adds to the look and feel of the room. One disappointment was you couldn't get a wake up call. The other was their alarm clock wasn't the easiest thing to figure out how to set. Good thing we had phones. No one at the office to check you out in the morning to let you tell them about the good or the bad. The manager was kind enough to get us into the restaurant on a busy night. It happened to be February 14th and we had not made dinner reservations. The food was wounderful! We both had the trio of grouper, shrimp, and scallops. Crab cakes were had as an appetizer. The server was pleasant and our glasses were never empty. The only complaint about the restaurant was the restrooms. They definitely need an upgrade.

Great view, low key, casual place with good seafood dishes. Calamari and coconut shrimp were delicious. Oysters, so-so. I got a combination broiled seafood dinner that was good but had the same heavy salt seasoning on each peace - could have been a little lighter but still enjoyable.

I recently took a trip to visit family in Hudson, and they took me here for lunch telling me it was pretty decent. Let me state - I am giving it a 1 star, but I do think there is some potential here, but it was without a doubt the worst dining experience I had on my trip. The service was good enough, our waitress accommodated our requests, however she committed one fatal flaw for me - criticizing the menu choices of the place where she works. I don't care how gross or how strange you find menu choices where you work - that's not how you sell a dish.....tell me how much you love it, even if its gross - or give me another option that you think is good if its that appalling. Anyways, the food - the true disaster here. I started with a baked potato soup - it was as if it wasn't stirred in a while or never finished or I don't even know - maybe watered down - it was too thick in spots and too thin in others....if the texture was consistent it might have been good. But the watery down taste really flooded out any flavor that might have been there. Next we had calamari and the crab stuffed mushrooms for apps. The calamari was tough and tasteless - we ate about 2 and then my dining companion had it wrapped cause he didn't want to see it go to waste. The mushroom was too tough - it should have cooked a little longer, the crab was overly fishy tasting - almost like it had gone bad. And I don't know if mozzarella was the right choice of cheese but also should have been heated longer, maybe even with a little bubbly crusting? The bigger foul in this dish was there was absolutely no seasoning. This will be a running theme here. I ordered their seafood Alfredo for my lunch dish - the good points - the fish were cooked wonderfully (so there is potential). It had scallops, and shrimp. The reason this dish was awful - no seasoning. While some might find cheese and seafood to be a faux pas - I enjoy a good alfredo, but it needs seasoning - at the very least, salt and pepper, maybe go a little crazy and throw in some parsley! If the folks here can learn to pick up the salt and pepper once in a while, I think they could solve a lot of their problems - but until then, there is no hope.

Great location and fast service. The stuffed grouper was very good and the crab legs were delicious. My wife loved her lobster and fried shrimp. Big portions too!

Visited again and food was good but service was non exhistant. Waited over an hour to be served after orders were placed. Tables all around us received their food but we just sat. No apologies, we were just ignored like we were not there. So we walked. Probably weren't even missed. Probably forgot to hand in order. Did not see waitress again. Maybe shift was over. Good by.

Came in here for a late lunch and was greeted by a expert server Mandy. We began ordering outside but were surprised to find out that smoking was permitted on the patio. No worries, we moved tables and had a lunch inside. The grouper came highly recommended and I'm happy to report this was the best fish and chips I've ever had! So fresh, succulent, well prepared, batter tasty and not heavily breaded. Yum! Would definitely return!

I do like this place, and I've been coming here for years, although the food is kind of ordinary. It's good for things like a hamburger, clam chowder, or appetizers. On a nice day, especially if it's not crowded, it's actually a pleasant place to go with friends and family. The patio is nice, for the area. It has a vintage, authentic 1970's "real" Florida feel to it, and I have always found the servers to be pleasant and attentive. It is the better of the dining options out there on Hudson beach.

I live in Spring hill. I had a long time friend come from New York, and we went there for dinner and drinks and the Maine Lobster was awesome my friends had the Grouper and also the king crab legs, all of the above were great and the Strawberry Colada on its own is worth the trip. We loved it and we will return

We were desperate for something to eat! The Inn on the Gulf popped up on Yelp & we decided to try it. It was a fun place right across the street from the Gulf. We got seated right away & offered happy hour. The waitress came right away & was very helpful. I had the Manhattan Clam chowder. It was delicious! My husband ordered the clam strip basket which were fresh & cooked perfectly. I ordered fish & chips (grouper). It was fantastic! So happy we drove down! Definitely a local & snowbird favorite!

The managers Mike, John and Joe make you feel at home. The food is the best . A nice friendly bar and you can eat outside if you wish . We love it and go there often. They have the best fish and chips I have ever had!

Tried their famous grouper sandwich. Not sure how it became famous. For the price you would think the sandwich would consist of more than a piece of grouper and a bun. Gave me three little slices of dill pickle and a tiny bit of coleslaw. The service was just ok. Won't be visiting the Inn on the Gulf again!

  • Jaleen C.

Don't waste your time. All fried food for lunch. Asked to substitute veggies for the fries, no go. Ended up leaving when the waitress, Tara, would barely acknowledge us and still charged us $5.33 for the iced teas.

We returned for our second visit here. This place is still amazing. The food is absolutely delicious. My wife ordered the fish and chips again. The fish was lightly breaded and her piece was huge. I couldn't resist again ordering the fisherman's feast. The fish was sweet and delicious, the scallops sweet and tender and the shrimp were large and tasty. The menu prices are reasonable for the food you receive. This is a must stop if you like seafood and you're in the area.

Really? You can't do a grilled grouper sandwich? Only fried? Across the street Sam's has choice of fried, grilled or blackened, so is it really fresh or frozen ? Also Get Hooked down the road can do a grilled grouper with choices of fried or blackened. I've dined here before and rated it much better but I left and drove south to Rum River and getting Grilled Grouper.

This place is great! I absolutely love their margaritas and come back at least once a week. Sugar on the rim makes it wonderful. Today i sampled the broiled grouper fillet, whoch included a delicious salad witch i had with ranch. Warm all ypu can eat bread keeps coming if you ask. Last time i had the burger which was deliciousas well. I would recommend a try and a walk on the beach is a great ending to a perfect meal!

Stopped in to try the fresh lobster and we were not disappointed. It's not a glamorous or trendy restaurant, but it's clean, the service is good, and the food is fantastic. Specifically, our server was very knowledgable about allergies and patient with me while I asked questions. The steamed lobster was cleaned and prepped well, and all of the seafood we ordered tasted fresh and delicious. Three of us ate for under 75 dollars, and that included the aforementioned lobster and tip. The patio is shaded with fans and comfortable chairs. The restaurant isn't right on the water, but still allows for a nice view and a good place to take a walk after eating. We will most definitely be back in the future.

This time I didn't get blamed by taking a wrong turn. We ended up eating a not bad dinner on the beach the road led us. Turn out, it is a hidden gem on Hudson beach of Pasco County. Let me explain how did I came up with this 3.5 star rating. Location and view: 4 star. (Good for sunset dinning) Selections on Menu: 4 star. (plenty to choose for all family members) Food quantities: 4 star. (standard American quantity) Freshness of seafood: 4 star. (I won't mind eat it raw) Flavor: 3 star. (Just short of some twisting on flavor) Service: 3.5 star (our waitress is fine and pretty though) Atmosphere: 1 star (65+ crowds) Music: 2 star (60's music) Price: 3 star (little just little pricey) Sum it up. 3.5 star. Actually, I did enjoy the whole dinning experience in this accidentally find seafood restaurant. Surround by 65+ crowds maybe little depressing but certainly quiet for us to carry on some good chat and laughing (don't get me wrong, those 65+ gents and ladies are very nice and funny as well). Wine selection are mainly from CA. I like their seafood a lot except the deep fried dishes are bit wasting of the fresh fish. We also had chance to check up their Motel which is next to the restaurant and overlook gulf. Year around price at 75 dollar. You can get it low to 65 if you are lucky. We also checked the room. It is sort of kicked back in 60's, very outdated but they have wi-fi in each room. The room we checked has kitchen facility, small but functional and clean. Manager mentioned there is a supermarket just cross the street so you can cook breakfast. There is a beach bar cross the Motel seems very popular. Music maybe a bit loud for motel guest in the evening but I am sure they will close after 9pm since it is very lay back area of Florida. This Inn is good for small family with kids. Plenty things and activities to spend time together and less money compare with clearwater area. I will take the wrong turn again next trip to Pasco. Ha....

Cheap price. Had the grouper fingers which were fresh and tasty and a large Greek salad. Happy hour yielded 2 dollar beers needless to say us NYers were awed by the cheapness. Solid attentive service and outside seating available

We have frequented this restaurant for the past ten years and they have the best grouper we've ever eaten.

  • Sandra F.

First of all, they are NOT on the Gulf. Your view is of the parking lot. The manager is a real New Yorker, and I don't mean that in a good way. And the prices for the amount is for New York elite only. Paid 9.94 for chicken fettucini that wouldn't suffice for my grandchild. And it wasn't even a good sauce. Don't waste your money here. They really think that Pasco folks are stupid. Much better food around and better priced.

  • Barb V.

We eat here a lot. The grouper sandwich can not be beat. We usually eat outside. Because it is on the gulf, there is always a nice breeze. Wait staff are very friendly. This is a great place to take your out of town guests. Be sure to make a reservation during peak snowbird season!

I should have known from the time I walked in the place and felt like I was just transported back to a dingy 70's restaraunt. We started with soggy calamari and over cheesed stuffed mushrooms. The salad wasn't bad but how can you wreck that. My father did complain that his Manhattan clam chowder was burnt. Next came our meals, yuk. I ordered broiled Mahi Mahi thinking how can that go wrong in a seafood restaurant on the water. We'll it went wrong, terribly wrong! The Mahi Mahi had a horrible taste that can' t be put into words, it was soggy and had no seasoning. The mango salsa that I paid an extra $2 for tasted like canned diced tomatoes in vinegar. My sister's pork chops could have been used as hockey pucks and my husband' s filet mignon tasted like it was freezer burned. My father and brother in law did say the steamed crab legs were good and my mother did enjoy the fried shrimp so that's why they get two stars. The waitress was really nice and noticed I didn't eat the Mahi Mahi. I was honest about it and she felt bad and took it off the bill so this is the other reason for the two stars. I won't be back.

Tried this the other night. Great waitress, very attentive. Restaurant good for familes, plenty of seating, casual. Had fish and chips - a tad greasy but good. Guest had appetizer of grouper which she said was very good. Plate was enormous for an appetizer. Other guest had a burger. Said to be very good. Nice location, not as prime as Sam's across the street, but better for families and possibly quieter.

Visit was just ok. Crab Stuffed Shrimp was disappointing and seemed pre-prepared. The Peel and Eat Gulf Shrimp was good, except did not seem fresh, but frozen. There were several flies around us during our visit.

Tried the grouper fingers as so many of the reviews mentioned them; so glad we did! Next time will ask for additional lemon and extra sauce. Had that day's special - Grouper Florentine - great choice! Feta didn't really have a presence but the bacon & spinach added great flavor. Server gave the right amount of attention but never got his name :( Pricey by the end but acceptable for the quality of food. So good we're planning to go back very soon for dinner and try to catch the sunset... Can't wait to try something else!

We love going to this place, especially for the Grouper Fingers!! How do they get/cook such good grouper?? It makes every other place where I've had grouper feel like they are serving the wrong fish?.! Anyhow, go to the inn for the grouper fingers, French fries, and Happy hour drafts, you won't be disappointed. Service is excellent, atmosphere is a nicer beach tavern need I say more?

Wow...just wow. I had seen this place a few times come up but had not tried it til now. I had the stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer and the crab was awesome! I had the seafood alfredo for my main and OH MY GOODNESS!!!! The shrimp, scallops and lobster were all cooked perfectly and it all came together like a symphony of goodness in my mouth! The only downsides were that the prices were a touch high for the area and they didn't have sweet tea (grrrr...what is with this city...I am from the south!! lol).

Our last visit was an absolute train wreck. Despite calling (way!) ahead to let them know we had a party of 22, they could only accommodate 18 of us anywhere near each other, and even then we were split among multiple tables and scolded like children not to move any chairs or tables around. The manager actually followed people from our party from the packing lot to make sure we were eating at the restaurant, making comments about tow trucks all the way -- VERY tacky! When we got inside, the manager stuck his nose in where it didn't belong a number of times, interfering with service, etc. Our waitress was EXTREMELY good, as was the waitress for other tables our party got split among. The wait staff is part of the reason for the second star. The other reason for the second star is that some people's food was good. It was the exception rather than the rule, but it should be acknowledged that not EVERYONE had a bad meal. My meal, personally, was fine. I ordered two entrees -- both of which were a cheeseburger -- but asked them to hold the bun, the fries, and coleslaw. I asked if I could have a side salad in lieu of those six items (three items times two entrees). The waitress offered for apple sauce to be substituted, which didn't help because I can't eat that any more than I can eat the bun or fries. The manager made a huge deal out of granting the request for a small side salad (which was SO small, it honestly could have come in a cup instead of a bowl). I felt like a peon being indulged by the King, who looked annoyed I didn't grovel afterward. The person next to me got a steak that even the waitress admitted was rancid (and was sick the next day), and our table got soggy undercooked calamari and half-frozen mozzarella sticks for our appetizer. When coffee was put out, several people excused themselves to the restroom, at which point a busboy cleared their untouched coffees, which weren't replaced. On top of that, the cups that WERE brought back were touched on the inside by the busboy (who picked four of them up together with one hand, if you can picture why they were touched inside). The manager argued for a long time about this -- and in the end, decided that the busboy didn't touch the mugs, and didn't replace the coffees -- but they WERE on the bill. Incidentally, the interior was horrid, reminiscent of a tourist trap from the 80's with the metal-and-pleather "loop at the top" chairs, etc. You can be sure I won't be back.
