Ate there in early Jan 2014. Stopped in late just before closing. Staff were friendly and the pad thai was very good.

Sake Thai and Sushi Bar is in the space that Miyagi sushi used to occupy. Sake is about a thousand times better than Miyagi. We went to Sake for a late lunch on a Saturday. Service was spot on and the food was great. My wife got yellow curry that was about as good as yellow curry can get. I ordered a sushi combo that was very good as well. I can see being a regular customer here.

FINALLY! A decent sushi place in Homestead! I've been here several times, and all occasions the service has been pretty good, they were even patient the one time I came pretty late. (I hate being that person, but I was starving) I always get the Roc on Roll, its delish. Their prices are a little more than what I pay at my other sushi places, but factoring in the distance and gas to drive to these other places, its worth it. I'm pretty sure they're the same people in Hollywood on Sheridan so, they have their full menu online. They're pretty new, so not many people have heard of them, which makes it pretty much empty. Its a small establishment, so if business does pick up for them, I can see where they would have a wait.

Living in homestead thier isn't much around I like to goto. But this sushi is a nice little spot especially for a date after a move in the near by theater. Is the world's most amazing sushi? No, but still delicious

Can't believe I haven't left a review yet. Happen to come across this place a few months back on my way to the keys. I was real hungry and in the mood for some Asian cuisine, what I expected was a sub-par or average at best place but boy was I wrong. This hidden gem is nestled away in homestead about a 40 minute drive from where I live. I now make the drive there 3 times a month just for this place; it is that good. Staff is friendly, place is clean, best of all food is amazing. They have great options to choose from. For those interested in Pan-Asian or authentic Japanese/Thai food, you won't be disappointed. I have tried almost everything on the menu but some of my top suggestions are: krab cakes (current special), basil sauce, duck curry, pad wood sen, volcano fish, Tom kha gai, tropical roll, tuna and mango roll, spicy tuna salad, tuna tataki, and beauty and the beast roll.

The service was good. The skittles roll is amazing (terrible name BTW). The wahoo sashimi was fresh and delicious. I wanted a boba tea (which they advertise the hell out of) but it's only on weekends - next time. I will go back for sure.

Great sushi! Some of the best I've ever had! Whoever said this place sucks must have gone on an off night because it was amazing!

  • Bryan S.

The initial look of the place is inviting, however things go south quickly from there. The music playing on the radio may be appropriate for Miami but not for the rest of the world. The cooking staff kept talking about pussy and using profanity. Their appearance could have been a great deal more professional, this isn't Taco Bell. I felt like I was in a low rent establishment making an attempt at being a sushi bar. If this was my establishment I would fire everyone except the girl waiting tables. As for the food it was just as good as any sushi place around the area. I will not be coming back.

  • Kerry P.

This place replaced Miyagi and from the start this place surpassed them and everything is great, especially the sushi. We have been here almost every weekend and their food never gets old, only better

Delicious food: we had pad Thai, udon noodle soup and spicy chicken, which were all very good. Pad Thai was a little bit too salty, but this didn't matter a lot as we had some water. One thing that made me feel annoying was that they charged me for the hot water. I've never seen any restaurant that charges the customer for hot water! The cashier lady was somewhat rude, but I'm not sure if it was because her hard-to-understand English. Service not quick but just okay.

Came by this spot because it was right by the Flagship Cinema. Glad we came in because this place is dynamite! First off, the place is nice with glass doors all around and cool looking walls. We had the most amazing waitress ever I remember her name to be Sushi Mama. Make sure you ask for her when you visit! She was so funny and took really good care of us. She recommended the Pingpong roll and sushi nachos for me. My friends had a loaded tuna tatami w/ cilantro and jalapenos, the seafood curry and volcano salmon entrees which were all very delicious. This place should be packed but it's nestled inside the plaza away from the main street so people won't see it unless they look next to the Pizza place. Finished the meal off with these fried brownies served with ice cream. So awesome. Don't usually take the time to review but this place is a must try!

I really enjoy coming here for sushi when I'm short on time. My son lives their pad Thai and I like it too. I took 1 star off because of 2 issues I have. The first is that they really should have a kids size pad Thai, the portions are generous and it's hard for me to get through a whole plate in 1 sitting, much less a 4 year old. The other is that they have online ordering on their website and the last time I tried that, I didn't get my food. Not a phone call, nothing. It was really disappointing because that is a feature I really, really enjoyed.

Outstanding food the staff is amazing and there is always something different to try. I'm hooked on the Boba Tea only served on the weekends starting on Friday but well worth the wait. Give it a try!!!! Also everything's I've tried has always been fresh tasting and A LOT .... Great place

I stopped by around noon to grab some lunch with my sisters, and was surprised to see the large variety of options on the menu. We ordered the Yaki Soba, veggie fried rice, fire cracker roll, spring rolls, and the tempura brownie with ice cream. Everything was pretty average in taste, except for the fried rice which had an overwhelmingly weird flavor to it, my sister couldn't eat it. The spot is a bit overpriced as well, 6 dollars for 3 small spring rolls, and the dessert was mediocre. You're better off going to the chilis next door if you're stopping by for lunch. Nice spot for dinner or a simple date though.

Stopped in while moving my daughter to the greater Miami area. The Yelp reviews were spot on. The cha cha cha role my daughter chose was one of the best roles I've ever had with extraordinary texture and taste. The Albacore mataki was fabulous even if the jalapeños were a bit too strong a compliment for my taste. Our seaweed salad was also excellent and the house red was fine--especially as a gratis check in gift. We'll be back!

Our favorite sushi spot in Homestead!!! I had the Jade Roll and the Cha Cha Cha Roll. Nice!!!!! I'm stuffed. Every time I come here I have something different. Food is fresh and the restaurant is clean. We will be back again soon!! Nice servers and excellent service (been here numerous times and I have not had a bad service experience)

  • Redys P.

One of the best restaurants I've gone to so far, good prices and great service. The calamari were good with a nice chili spice and the Thai spice with beef was honestly excellent! The waitress Frances if I'm not mistaken got my drinks on time and food was exactly how I ordered it! Definitely will come again!

  • Krystle S.

One of my favorite Sushi/Thai places to eat at in homestead and in Miami overall. I eat here about once a week and order for delivery about twice a week. Their food tastes delicious, sushi taste fresh and the customer service is great. Ordering food online is a huge plus and Delivery is very fast too. Highly recommended!

    (5)
  • Nakia W.

This place is excellent!!! Once again a great lunch. We had delivery and they forgot the tempura flakes. The customer service was hands down great!!! Even though we received our food already. They came back to deliver the tempura flakes. The food was delicious and fresh

  • Song A.

The worst Thai food I have ever had!!!!! I had a pad Thai and Tom yum soup. The soup was not Tom yum at all. I asked a level five spicy for pad Thai, and ended up with a taste level five sweet!!! If you have diabetes or blood sugar issue, got be careful with their food!!! The waitress was horrible, not even caring about refilling our water. When we checkout, they didn't even provide you a customer copy receipt. The only good thing at here was the water maybe. Horrible experience, never coming back again!

Nothing to write home about. Had a tuna sushi roll, rice was mushi and tasteless. If you want good sushi, don't come here.

I love this place because... There is soooo much good food to choose from. If I have a craving for Japanese/Thai, this is the first place on my list. What you'll find at this place is fresh sushi (a must) and authentic Thai food. The restaurant is also very clean. This is what I've tried so far: APPETIZER Age Tofu Appetizer Sampler Gyoza Soft Shell Crab SOUP Tom Yum Soup Tom Kha Soup THAI FOOD Pad Thai Pad Woon Sen Massaman Curry Basil Whole Fried Snapper Basil Duck SUSHI Sushi Nachos Tuna Eifel Ping Pong Roll Cha Cha Roll Fire Cracker Roll Rock on Roll Tropical Roll Sweet Dream Roll Dynamite Appetizer BEVERAGE Peach Iced Tea Wide variety of Sakes DESSERT Lychee Ice Cream Tempura Ice Cream I have personally tried all of these and they're all so good. By the way, the staff is great and they definitely take care of me every time I'm there.

  • J G.

Still yummy. My boyfriend and I come once at least once a month if not more. It's our go to place whenever we want to go out for dinner. I've also picked up food to go a few times and they've always done a good job packing it up and having it ready on time. We've tried almost every roll on the menu now and my boyfriend has tried lots of the sashimi - haven't been disappointed yet. I like that they have a rewards program. Every $100 spent gives you a $10 credit for next time. And you can save the credits and build them up so you can take a big chunk off your check. They also just link it to your phone number so you don't have to remember to bring any special card or anything with you.

    (5)
  • Melissa P.

The service was excellent. But the pad Thai was horrible. When I asked for steak teriyaki and an upgrade of white rice to special fried rice, they charged us not only for the returned pad Thai but $14.99 for the side of fried rice. When we asked about the $14.99 they said they do not have a side of special fried rice. I will not be back.

  • Lacey E.

I gave 2 stars because my rolls (The Ping Pong Roll) was good, my husband asked for one of the biggest rolls they have and the waitresses suggested the Ninja Roll...when the food came out mine was much larger and better, he hated his. I wouldn't pay that much for that quality. Mine was good, not spectacular and probably won't go back based on the pricing versus quality.

I was visiting Miami and was in the mood for some sushi so we decided to give this place a whirl. It had high ratings on Yelp so we figured what the heck. Well it turns out it was very good I had the fried dragon roll and some red curry. The sushi was very good but the curry was perfect they offered to make it really hot but I figured I would stick with medium turns out it was great

Unofficial Sake Thai & Sushi Bar Inspector's Check-list: Parking: Check! Decent decor: Check! Friendly waitress: Check! Tasty food: Check! Good portioning: Check! Sweet (sufficiently boozy) plum wine: Check! Affordable prices: Check! Successful lunch date: Check! I came into this place with NO expectations and left very pleased. I am glad I chose it over the Chilis that was minutes away (it was hard to pass up that guacamole & salsa with chips lol) but I have/had no regrets by the end of my stay there. We got the miso soup, spring roll & veggie roll (as usual at sushi spots). I lovedddd this miso sauce that came with my roll. It sets this restaurant aside from other sushi spots. We will be back.

We had the best service by Jimmy and had amazing sushi, we are from Pensacola FL and have not had good service in a while. Great place we came here for lunch. Also had the red curry mild so delish and of course some sake bombs

Thai and sushi? Why yes, two favorite type of dishes in one place! Although I have never had both in one sitting. I imagine the taste would be clashing too extremely. Out here in an area filled only with fast food places and gas stations I gladly welcome any variation in dishes. The restaurant is located in the same complex as the theater, nice and clean with lots of parking space. Very modern decor, vibe is somewhat intimate, kind of a cross between a lounge and bar. Lighting is dark, with varied color of lights to create a relaxing and intimate mood. Very large spaces in between booths and tables. Each booth really feels enclosed so you can really focus only on the people sitting in your table. Its a great place to bring people who you aren't really sure what specific food they like/dislike (i.e. first date). The menu is very extensive. Actually took us a while to order. We ended up getting sushi only. Got 3 rolls: Yakuza, RocnRoll, and the Samantha *wink* and it came in a nice size wooden boat. How neat! The roll size is more than adequate. 3 rolls is definitely more than enough for 2 people, since we couldn't even finish it. The fish is pretty fresh, definitely washed thoroughly. Presentation of the rolls is average, nothing unique, but at least done neatly. In my opinion some of the spicy or sweet sauces may be a bit overpowering, but at least they are not stingy in the portion of actual seafood. Due to the open layout, it was very easy to get the attention of servers. They came to fill our drinks a few times but otherwise respected our space and time, exactly what we wanted. Overall we had a good experience here, would definitely come back if in the area, there are so much to try here! Although really I would not mix Thai food and sushi. Or I guess if you do, finish eating the sushi first before the Thai food, or else you're just gonna kill your taste buds. Lol, Jk...kinda.

Sake Thai is the first thai/sushi restaurant we went to when we first moved into town. I was fairly pregnant at the time and concerned about my sodium intake, so I ordered some steamed veggies and brown rice. No big deal there, veggies were fine, etc. I've been here a few more times since then, and for the most part, I enjoy it. If you go, the waitstaff is friendly and the ambiance is nice. However, the prices leave something to be desired, if only because the food seems to be a bit bland. I've ordered a couple different curries and was left wanting more flavor. Not more spice, just more flavor. Husband has also complained about the flavor at times. It might depend on who is in the kitchen though, because I do recall having one experience where everything was on point. I will say this: order the cheesecake tempura. You won't be sorry.

Have eaten their food few times always been great, haven't eaten inside always to go. Favorite is the fried sushi, it's delicious.

  • Alex L.

I won't claim to be an expert on sushi or Thai food, but I will say this; everything that I have ever had here was phenomenal! The sushi is fresh, the curry is flavorful and thick, and the Thai donuts (my favorite dessert) are fluffy and light. Also, they keep track of how much you spend there and when your tally has reached $100, they give you ten bucks off your next check! But that discount is just icing on the cake of an already outstanding little gem in Homestead.

Tried them twice & both times a disappointment. Still looking for good Homestead sushi.

I don't know why I am just now putting this review in but I came here last yr. I came with my coworkers for lunch and been here before. I must say I loved it. Unitl the very last time I came. I was eating my salad, and I felt something weird and spit out on a napkin what I had in my mouth. Long and behold it was a paper towel. Then i tossed my little salad and saw more of the paper towel. Now those salads are not that big, maybe it was a napkin or something but it def wasn't mine. I called my waitress and she was like "oh ok." No apology but did offer to give me another salad. Ummmm.. no thanks. That's all it took. I will never and have not been there since. My Coworkers always know that's the napkin place and do not invite me if we want sushi. I rather go to Stir Moon or Sushi Maki. It sucks, cause I enjoyed their sushi as well. The waitress didn't even offer to comp my meal. I mean I am not a cheap ass, but that was something worth to comp a customer.

So I love Sushi, and loving sushi I have it often and at a lot of different places. There is only one other Sushi place IN THE COUNTRY that had better sushi than here (and its in Cali). The service here was friendly, the Sake was excellent, creative, and very fairly priced. I'll be back here for sure.

They have been a few changes. Like in staff, prices, the menu and the frequent customer rewards. I'm sad they took off the rewards. The food still really awesome.

I'm not a big fan of sushi but I went to see what all the hype was about! We ordered the Avocado Crab Salad and the Cha cha Cha Roll! When we ordered this the first time it was on mistake. We meant to order the roll but forgot to say ROLL (lol). But I'm so glad we made the mistake because OMG! The ginger dressing and everything else on the salad is Amaz-balls!! So good and they have the little crispy "Cuban" fries on the top to give it the crunch it's missing. It's just so delicious! The Cha Cha Cha Roll is out of this world! It's a cooked roll which are the only ones I eat but the spicy mayo and the soy sauce they pour in top is what makes it. The asparagus inside gives it that crunch too that you weren't expecting but are pleasantly surprised for. (I guess I'm a big fan of textures since I like the extra crunch lol) it also has these crispy flakes on top I don't know what they are but they are really good too. (As you can probably tell I'm not an avid sushi eater) but I would definitely recommend these two dishes! Hope this helps!!

Stopped in on 10/2/13 for the second time in less than a week (yes it is that good!). Big thanks to Sue for the great service and accommodating our requests for our daughter's meal! We ordered the Sea Crazy role, Beauty and the Beast role, and Yakuza role; all were equally delicious. I believe it was the B&B role that had asparagus in it which added a nice crunchy texture, never had that before in a role and it was a pleasant surprise. For dessert we had the Thai donuts and fried ice cream; excellent presentation in the condensed milk with the colored sugar crystals and chocolate swirls forming a little fish as you can see in the photo.

This has to be one of the best Japanese/Thai restaurants I have ever been to! I've been to Asia and had authentic Asian food, I'd say this is the closest it's gotten for me in the states. Phenomenal staff that is friendly and attentive, with a great visual menu (so hard to pick just one when the menu has a picture of every delicious dish they offer). The food is fresh and of quality, great price for the portions offered. I usually find it that with these mixed Asian restaurants one side of the menu is better than the other, but I find that both the Japanese food and Thai food here is amazing. It's difficult to pick just one thing, usually end up getting some sort of Sushi and a Thai dish. Their drinks are also great, I recommend their Saketinis and the Lychee ice cream for dessert is like no other! Great for groups and kids as well, find myself coming here at least 2 times a month.

As I sit here waiting for my "to-go" order I have come to realize that if it weren't for this restaurant, I would without a doubt starve to death. I find myself here quite often. Sake thai is always my first choice when going out to eat; not only is their food excellent but it is also the only restaurant nearby that has plenty of healthy and tasty choices. I love everything, the service is great and the food is outstanding. I have yet to find one thing didn't like.

Love the Fire dragon roll and the kids chicken meal. My son loves the garlic shrimp. Thai donuts are amazing! Service is great too, always there and super friendly. Food is quick.

I came here with my friend once, who happens to be a sushi chef at another restaurant. He remarked it was good and fresh. I haven't been terribly disappointed by the sushi. The service is usually great, aside from one time. However, everything else I've ordered- pad see ew, tempura udon, various curries, have all been flavorless and nothing but underwhelming. If you go here, you will be treated very kindly, and go ahead and order the Japanese "favorites"- tempura, sushi, etc

The food is delicious and has great presentation yet the service is the complete nightmare. We spent $100 on appetizers, sapporos, and sushi and not once throughout the night did we get a waiter or waitress check up on us and our food. I had to get myself soy sauce and extra napkins from another table. We had to hunt down a waitress a couple of times to attempt to place an order for dessert. It was 3 minutes after 10 pm and she said kitchen is closed. If we had service at all, we could have been able to order dessert and more drinks in the first place. I decide to give this restaurant another chance today just because the food is really good. I called and someone picked up the phone. There was no response and I was immediately placed on hold for over 2 minutes. Did not get any type of response such as, "hello," or "please hold." Just complete silence. This would have been twice this week I give my business to them, but obviously they do not want it. Food was great but definitely not worth settling with rude and horrible service. Their service alone has already ruined my appetite. Definitely not returning here.

We used to come here at least twice a week and love the sushi nachos and the yummy roll (believe it's not on the menu). My husband was relocated for work so we moved away for about 6 months. Glad to be back! Just found out they are under new management but same menu, same sushi chefs, and we were actually served by our favorite waitress. They have a pretty big selection of cold sakes so we tried the sparkling peach sake...enjoyed it very much. We had the nachos, Miami heat roll, ping pong roll, and hamachi kama. They take $2 off the Heat roll every time the HEAT plays so that was a nice touch. We actually sat at the bar and watched the game as we enjoyed our dinner. Did I mention they have Uni? Really fresh uni. My husband was a happy camper. Thought that was it for us until we found out about their new daily specials...1/2 off Thai donuts on Mondays!!! $3 for these warm heavenly melt-in-your-mouth balls...yes please! Highly recommend this place. Friendly staff, nice ambiance, and clean. They are adding on new items which we are excited to try. Our server mentioned fried oysters and green tea tempura ice cream! Let me repeat that... GREEN TEA FRIED ICE CREAM! Too bad we couldn't eat anymore. Sake Thai we shall meet again really, really soon.

Not great, not terrible. It's an OK place for sushi if you live in homestead/fl. city and don't want to drive 20-30 minutes for something better. The decor and atmosphere is above average for the area. Between the two sushi places in town I know of, this is the better one. It suffers from the temptation of a majority of most South Florida Sushi restaurants, in that it is a Sushi-Thai hybrid that chooses to do two things in a mediocre fashion rather than one thing very well. I can't speak to the Thai food, since they are everywhere (even in Homestead), so we've only gone here for sushi.

Excellent sushi, awesome customer service. I came here a bit skeptical all because of the location and I'm used to eating sushi in the gables. But I was surprised , I actually customised a roll that I normally eat in Akashi and they did it wonderfully here. I highly recommend this place is you live in homestead or visiting :)

Had a great night at Thai and sushi bar. Started the night off with an order of steamed gyoza need less to say they were delicious. My chicken fried rice dish was massive I almost finished it. To top it off I had some tempura ice cream. I liked everything I ate. I'm disappointed in my self for not having enough room for some sushi. I'll be back soon.

Ate here for the first time two weeks ago, delicious!!!! The food was amazing, had so much flavor. Restaurant was nice and clean and server was great too. Only thing that was a bit disappointing was that the rolls where not very sticky so every time I would dip one in eel sauce, it would fall apart. Other then that, great food! Ordering take out tonight!

Thank you yelp for helping us find this wonderful place to eat as we traveled towards Key West. We love any type of Asian food and this has two of the cuisine that Asia has to offer. A great extensive menu for both Sushi and Thai food. We started with the Tom Kha Kai soup that was perfect. I had the Thai hot and my wife had mild. My sinuses are going to be clear for a week. Our server strongly suggested that I needed to stay away from Thai hot and go with American spice but I still had to add more spice. My wife had sushi and I had Penang curry chicken that was really good. Plus they sell the big size Kirin. Wish this Thai choice was in Orlando.

The sushi has been getting progressively worse. I wonder if they stopped using fresh seafood? IE: using yesterday's delivery for lunches. The apps from the kitchen are good, but super expensive. Pad Thai is good. Nothing spectacular. LOVE LOVE LOVE that they deliver. If they weren't so expensive I would order from there more often. It's not worth spending $50+ to get a satisfying meal for 2.

We were so excited when we discovered this place and that they don't chop their tuna! Ever since our first visit, we have been every week. We love our waitresses and our experience is always awesome. Also, the Wahoo civiche is AAAAAMAZING. The Tuna Tower is great too. Favorite roll is the tropical roll and the Thai food is good too! Ask for Sue when you go. 5/5 stars definitely! Thanks for providing great food & a great atmosphere for us to enjoy! -- finally a good sushi restaurant in Homestead! :)
