Villa Rose Pizza Menu

Diabetics at Village Inn

Village Inn is a tough place for diabetics, and you must be extra cautious while ordering food at the Village Inn, especially if you're a diabetic. The food items low in sodium are high in sugar or cholesterol at Village Inn which makes it difficult for diabetics to choose the right food at the diner.

Foods to Avoid at Village Inn for Diabetics

You must also skip the shakes as well as other juices from the beverage menu. Almost all the dinner items on the menu are high in sodium except Grilled Tilapia and 6 oz. Top Sirloin & Toast. The pizza is unique. It's not your every day pie, especially the chili sauce for dipping. If you are looking for a change from the every day pizza, this is a good choice.

Love this place. Location is off beat and decor may not be to your liking but pizza is the best in South Florida (also ask them for their hot sauce on the side which is great). Great garlic rolls and salad dressing, my only complaint is lettuce is always wilted/brown. No idea about their pasta. Wish they had more convenient locations but then again it would mean I would eat there 5 times a week.

I can't say the service is good here. I ordered take-out, and had to wait an additional 15 minutes after the time I was told it would be ready. During that time, I listened to the server complain about other customers to the pizza chef. Then after a few minutes she told me they were out of garlic rolls, which would which have been nice to know while I was calling in my order. However, the food was great. The pizza was good, my hubby loved the gyro which was packed full of meat and his chicken wings were awesome. If this place got its staff up to speed, we probably would be regular customers.

I have passed this place literally thousands of times and never given it a seconds thought but thanks to a groupon, I found the error of my ways. located right on busy 441 its easy to overlook. No street sign and nothing special about the exterior of the building; but this is a hidden gem. All home made style cooking here and it tastes GREAT! You can tell the marinara sauce is not some standard paste ordered from a chain supplier because of the large chunks of well seasoned tomatoes hidden within. Its that traditional Italian style sauce - yum. One our visit my friend and I had the mozzarella sticks, veal parmigiana, chicken parmigiana, and salad (which comes with the parmigianas). The mozzarella sticks were the best I have ever had. Same as the sauce & not your average sticks. They were large and had a flavorful thin bread coating ( I personally do not like the normal mozzarella sticks you get - mostly breading and very greasy). The veal and chicken parmigiana were also very good and a good portion. I had to take half of my meal home I was so full. I will deffinetly be coming back here soon.

A thin crust pizza with a recipe that dates back to 1952 (this according to the waitress) is a really, really nice departure from all of the New York-style and coal-fired pizza places that exist in South Florida. This thin crust pizza can be characterized as such: (1) Very crunchy and stays crunchy. (2) Tangy sauce. (3) Mild-to-hot Italian sausage. (4) Crunchy sweet onions. (5) Fresh mushrooms. (6) Fresh mozzarella. I believe this pizza also has a finely crushed corn meal on the bottom of the crust that helps keep it crunchy. The waitress told my guest and me that the pizza is best when it's fresh out of the oven. I would agree. My five stars are for the pizza. Thank you Villa Rose for serving up a pizza that we Milwaukee natives remember fondly. The style of pizza is so hard to find in South Florida, and my family and I will certainly go out of the way to indulge in what truly is the best pizza I had in my 15 years down here in South Florida.

I calls to order and the lady answers the phone "Mitchell", so I thought I had the wrong number. Three phone calls later I ask if I have called Villa Rose. Stupid lady calls me Mitchell again and I ask her what she's talking about. With a bad attitude she tells me that's the name on her caller ID. First, I don't sound like a man, second that's a dumb way to answer a phone, and third, it's a company phone, so I have no idea what executive's name is on the caller ID. Avoid ordering from here if you can. The food: garlic rolls were dry and tough and the pizza was just "ok". I won't be back.

Incredibly delicious pizza and I've had a lot of pizza. The Pomodoro is VERY VERY GOOD. Basil, tomato, roasted garlic and mozzarella I believe. I was awe when I had it. However, the Greek salad was subpar. There was a little too much dressing and iceberg lettuce is my least favorite green, but it did come in a large portion. It wasn't my favorite but I did eat it.

  • Andrea W.

Just get their pizza. I ordered their large meatball appetizer and had to send it back twice because it was cold inside. Service is Ok. Pizza crust is thin and delicious if you like a non doughy crust. This place has been here for years.

To say i've grown up eating this pizza wouldn't be a lie. I remember the original owner and the good thing is the pizza is just a good today as it was when i was 10. I am addicted to this thin crust pizza. I normally get an order of antipasto with their house dressing, and actually dip my garlic rolls AND pizza in it as well. This is a very small restaurant right between taft and johnson street and honestly when i walk through the door I get that wonderful nostalgic feeling because it really hasn't changed in all these years, and that is a GREAT thing.

Good taste pizza but not the best, price not worthy, I've had bigger better quality pizza for less. Not the best service, won't buy from them anymore.

I just can't bring myself to give a dive type place 5 stars! But the pizza is 5+ stars!! Has been my favorite pizza since high school back in the 80's! Ate there again last night with the hubby... Ordered the antipasta salad, a large special (we always add ham and sliced tomatoes too) and a large florentine pizza (basically a white pizza with spinach) and two tiramisu desserts (to go home with!) We obviously couldn't eat two larges but I can't stand not to have leftovers for lunch the next day! And the Florentine pizza is by far my favorite pizza!! Wow! The entire ride home I kept saying "Damn, that was amazing pizza!" Don't be afraid to stop in! It's kinda divey little spot on 441.. But you will LOVE THIS PIZZA!

Great pizza and great service. Gina is an Awesome server and the staff is always friendly. I recommend the Greek salad as well as the pizza. They have updated the dining room with flat screen TV's. Food is always good. The pizza is a must.

The best pizza in South Florida and some of the best wings I've yet to have. I've been coming to this joint for about 6 years, the decor has gotten some updates but not much has changed however that doesn't define and change the fact that the food has always been consistently good every time I dine in.

Looks can be deceiving! This place doesn't seem like much from the outside but one bite out of any of their dishes and your mouth will water! Best Chicago thin crust pizza outside of Chicago! A must!

  • Aaa C.

The crust was the best the sauce was awesome and the cheese was real a real delicious pizza. I haven't had a good pizza like that in a long time its great pizza if you are tired of the generic chain type pizza.

  • Mike B.

Ok second visit here, service was good both times. The pizza is better than alot of others in the area, chicken wings were better the first visit over the second visit. I also got a small Greek salad this time, could have done without. My biggest issue here is price point, add two Apple juices for the kids a lemonade and tip, gets you to almost Fifty. I felt that way my first time as well. Please if looking for a good pizza, try them out, however I think I won't be back for the money spent.

First time there tonite, last time for me. Tried the sausage & pepper sub. It was crap. Unedible. My wife had the chicken parm very sad. Big disappoint. The place is a mess. More like a food kitchen in a homeless shelter. I want my $21. Back!!!

everyone seems to like their pizza. unfortunately we decided to go another route. first off. walk in,get ignored. wait for a clean table, 5 full tables out of 15 = 10 dirty tables.no problem, waitress comes & wipes all the garbage on the floor. the floor was a mess all over. we should have left!!! noise level unbearable. I ordered a sausage & pepper sub. it was disgusting. it consist of 2 sausage patties burned & overcooked & 4 slices of microwaved green peppers bread was decent. my wife ordered the chicken parm. BIG MISTAKE. this place is more like a homeless shelter than a restaurant. I cant see how they are open. I WANT MY $21 BACK!!!! I really wanted to like this place. too bad!!!

First of all, I want to say that this place is very much ALIVE and well. When I went to it on this web site, it is listed as closed, but we were there just two days ago and it was as great as usual !! This place has been in business since 1957 and it looks it.It is one of those "hole in the wall" places that you hope will never change. The pizza is thin and crispy with just the right amount of give when bitten into. These people know what "mouth feel" should feel like. Yum! They have beer and wine if you like and also other food, sandwiches and the like, but I cannot imagine ordering any thing but the to die for pizza! We both ordered a medium, him with olives and sausage and me with pepporoni and mushrooms. We almost ate the whole thing ourselves, but managed to save a little to take home. However, two hours later, we could not wait and heated up our leftovers to munch again. Double yum ! Anyway, a place that has been open since the fifties must be doing something right. Think about it and try it. You'll be happy you did.

I can't say anything good about this place..Entered and was told to sit at the only available table which had no chairs. Should have been a red flag. Was told to go to another table by the cash register that had a baby car seat blocking the table. Another red flad. Waited 10 minutes for someone to bring over 2 chairs. Had a groupon that was useless. Paid 14.00 for the groupon and it was for a large sald and a large pizza. Was never told that soft drinks are not included. Asked for onions as a topping. After 20 minutes, they brought the salad. Waited another 20 minutes for the pie that had no onions. Got the check and we owed $4.50 (soft drinks and tax). Only received a $19.90 discount for the groupon..Does it make sense that I paid $14.00 for the groupon and still had to pay $4.50 for the soft drinks and tax? Where was the discount? Complained to manager and was told they give the minimum discount. Another couple at another table had the same problem. I emailed Groupon to complain and demand my money back, still waiting for an answer. Never again!

Dare you to find this place!! A very dear friend of mine pointed out this place to me one day as we were passing to go pick up her car from the dealership nearby. She told me the pizza was THE BEST thin crust in town. So today, when bouncing around from Miami-Dade to Broward doing errands with my two kids we decided some lunch was in order and I had a hankering for pizza, and you know boys...what mama want's, mama gets. Blink and you will pass it as it doesn't look like a pizza place at all. It's on the West side of 441. There are parking spots along the side as well as right on 441. Right next door is a Greek grocery store which is the "& Grocery" part. It was closed today however but may be worthy of a visit because I love all things Greek. //Now if only they didn't write in weird geometric blocks// The decor I have to say, is uninspired. Think workman's cafeteria...circa 1970's. It's not bad, it's just not fancy. There is a long counter bar with high stools and about 6 draft taps with the likes of Bud, Bud Light, Miller Light etc. They also serve bottled beers (Heineken, the Buds, the Millers, Peroni and a few others) . I suspect that they serve wine also but I didn't see any bottles on display but DID see some empty wine glasses on a table when we walked in. It was pretty quiet at about 2p.m. on a Sunday but there was a continuous trickle of customers. But hey, we're here for the food. We weren't in the mood for trying anything but the pizza. A plain cheese 12" for $9.95 and six garlic rolls for $2.55. Sodas were $1.75 with unlimited refills. But they also sell sodas by the can. The garlic rolls came out pretty sharpish. Nice and crusty on top and HOT and soft inside. They lasted...oh about three minutes I would say. Hot on their tail was the pizza. I totally loved it!!!! So did the kids. It was served sliced into squares and man it was PIPING hot...the pizza chef brought it straight to the table from the oven himself. The only thing that made me nervous was that it was pretty herby and the littlest guy is MUY picky about stuff like that, but he ate all of his six slices no bother to him. And the crust...OY the crust. It was THE thinnest crust pizza I have ever had, and it stayed crusty until the very last bite (which when you are working on a pizza with a very little kid can be a long time). It was thinner than a cream cracker...and the sauce did not soggy it AT ALL //It must be magic// I stopped at the pizza ovens on the way out (which are opposite the bar) and for the first time in my life complimented someone on their pizza. The mon-fri lunch specials caught my eye. It's pretty much a working class neighborhood with lots of motor workshops etc. nearby so the prices are pretty reasonable. There's not a thing on the Lunch menu over $7...the 1/2 sub combo sounds like a downright STEAL with a choice of six 1/2 subs (meatball, sausage & green pepper, grilled or crispy chicken, ham and cheese or Italian cold cut), together with a choice of soup, salad or fries - most of them for $5.55 (chicken was a $1 extra). This place is a real diamond in the rough.

We live in the area and decided to try Villa Rose for lunch today. I want to begin by saying that although it says delivery here on Yelp, when we called we were told that they do not deliver. That aside, the thin crust pizza was good, the best thing about our lunch. We ordered a medium pizza, baked ziti and minestrone soup. The pasta was inedible in part, due to it's very strong bad smell. I tried eating it but the smell was overpowering and it had a disgusting aftertaste. If you are going to eat here, I DO NOT recommend the pasta. I don't think we'll be ordering from here again unless I want specifically thin crust pizza.

They don't even have a website but this long time Hollywood pizza joint has withstood the coming and going of thousands of other pizza places in the Hollywood area. Why? Because they still make the best pizza in town. I first started going to Villa Rose in the mid 1980's. At first I was mesmerized by the aromatic smell emiting from this really plain looking storefront on Highway 441. As you go thru the front door you will be totally un-impressed. You pass a long bar with stools on the right and the pizza ovens on the left into the restaurant area which comprises about six or eight small tables. Obviously, a bunch of their business is take-out. Although this is primarily a pizza joint they also have a small menu of additional items like subs and pasta dishes. But the pizza is the thing to go for! It's thin and crispy and cooked to perfection. My favorite is the Villa Rose Special. When I go with a few people we order the John's Special which is a large pizza and a small pizza. We always make a challenge to someone who has never been to eat an entire small pizza by themselves. If you do it we let you in the Big Boys Club. The pizza is not cut the ordinary way: it's cut into squares. For several years when I lived in the area I would eat at this place a few times a month. It is my favorite pizza in town and I can't wait to go again.

Moving here from the mid-west it was nice to find a great pizza that isn't coal fired. This pizza is the best I've had in Florida therefore if I'm in the area I will stop in. Drink choices are bad and service is even worse.

When I found this place I was in heaven! The absolute best place in all of south Florida for thin crust pizza. It's tasty and crunchy all the time. Very consistent. I happen to live in Hollywood and I look forward to getting my Villa Rose pizza fix at least once a week. Do yourself a favor and try the Villa Rosa special or just a regular with bacon. The best! FYI I grew up in NYC so I consider myself a pizza expert.

Best thin crust pizza around! I've been eating their pizza since I was a small child. This place has been there for 50 years. All of their pizzas are delicious. Sometimes I dine in & all the staff has been very nice. The owner is also a very nice woman. Don't pass this place up!

Awesome thin crust pizza and garlic rolls!! Can't believe we just discovered this place! It's definately a mom-n-pop hole in the wall, but those are the best places! In fact, if you don't know it's there, you'd drive right by it (which we did and had to make a U-turn!). Can't wait to go there again and try more things on the menu. Service was great also!

Amazing it took me 9 years to hear of this place. Right down the road from the Hard Rock, this is the best thin crust in Florida... At least from a Chicago guys perspective . I can't stand the East Coast "Pie" where they fold the slice like a sandwich.. This Pizza is cut in squares with a nice crisp crust. The sausage is crumbled the way it should be . For you novices that means Italian Sausage meat , not the crap they slice onto a "Pie". The place is kinda a dive, but I did take out and ate it on my drive home:)

This is one of those restaurants that are so memorable that when my brother visits from Houston, he's gotta have it! The thin crust style pizza is mouthwatering. I wish they would open one of these in West Pembroke Pines.

I've contemplated 5 stars because the pizza is THAT good. I had to go with 4 stars however, due to the modest decor. White tables, white floor, white walls accompanied by three pictures with a cute little cartoon character Italian chef, possibly from the Old Time Pottery Art Gallery. It won't keep me from returning though. A Milwaukee native, I've been living in SoFlo for 13 years and finally found a pizza place that serves Midwest thin and crispy with cornmeal on the bottom, slightly tangy sauce, fresh toppings and juicy and extremely flavorful sausage. Although NY Style pizza is good, it is a bit redundant here in S. FL. (mildly put). So this pizza is a treat due to the perfect blend of flavors and texture. We ordered a large, sausage, mushroom and onion pizza, garlic rolls and two salads. One side salad, (mostly iceberg lettuce lacking veggies and color, and one Greek, which looked really good. It had feta cheese, fresh olives (not from a can) onions peppercini peppers and dressing. Our server was really friendly, and pleasantly attentive to our needs. She was there to refill our drinks before we had to ask, brought us enough napkins right away and was just all around low maintenance. Villa Rose is well worth the 30 mile drive. I will definitely be back.

First thing I'll say: Great thin crust pizza. From the cheese, to the vegetables, to the meats, the toppings are all high quality. So I'll excuse the relatively high prices. The decor, silverware, tables, and the overall aesthetics of this little place are a little drab... Looks just plain old OLD, dark, and worn out. Sitting their, I was a little worried if the food would be any good. It seems like all the money goes to the high quality pizza ingredients, and the employees paychecks, and not much else. But that's all fine. The server we had when we went was very polite and enthusiastic about her job. Maybe if they remodeled a little bit, this 50 year old pizza place would make it big. I'm sure I'll be back soon though. That thin pizza was amazing! Well done.
