I'm not a Korean but this place seems pretty authentic! It's located in a shopping plaza that has quite a few Asian restaurants and businesses. My sister and I went and she got to work this and I got the kimchee rice. It also came with a bunch of the size for us to taste and add to our meal which were delicious. The serverwas polite and nice but I feel that she could've been more attentive as there were not many people in the restaurant but I had to fly to download it to get my bill. But for the food itself it was worth it. It is a hole in the wall and The name on the actual restaurant is you know. I would come back. I think the prices are reasonable, and the service was Ok, but the food was definitely the highlight. Also don't let this deter you, but the restaurant Plaza had a fire and flood couple months ago and they're still trying to recover the damage. So it looks a little rough aesthetically, but if you're just looking for a good meal this is the place to go.

First, it's almost impossible to find this place. Originally wanted to go to Joa and then found out it doesn't exist, and I'm guessing it reopened as this restaurant? The location is definitely far from inviting, it's basically a quasi-deserted strip mall next to a construction site all hidden behind a Denny's. If you're looking for a Korean restaurant to bring a date or just a nicer location, I'd definitely try Gabose instead. The inside could use a facelift. Also, you can't do your own grilling here if that's something you want. Aside from this, the food is delicious and tasty. I tried the seafood and kimchee tofu soups and both were great. They don't give you unlimited side dishes, which is a first for me in my experiences eating at Korean restaurants. You can ask for refills of side dishes for additional charge. Bottom line: come for the food, not the atmosphere

I love this place! I'm half Korean and from the west coast where authentic Korean restaurants are plentiful, so to find this hidden gem in Hollywood, FL was like a dream come true for me. It's hard to find as its tucked away in an old shopping center off 441 a little south of Hollywood (near Denny's). It's small, family owned, clean, prices are reasonable, portion sizes are good, and the food tastes just like my umma and halmoni's cooking :) I even sent my mom pics of my food the first time I had went because I was so impressed lol. The dol sot bibimbap is always delicious and I also highly recommend the kimchi jigae!

We were very pleased that this place reopened so we dont have to drive all the way to Gabose for some good korean lol We got pork hocks (pretty good and it was a Lot), bim bi bop(the stone pot was not hot enough to crispy the rice but otherwise tasted good) and a seafood pancake(huge with a lot of seafood). Overall great, the only disappointment was the banchan - bland, even kimchi; seaweed salad is the same green one that you get at any sushi place and costco:( Will def be back! Highly recommend!

Very good hole in the wall place. The decor needs a little updating though. The food comes out sizzling and fresh and the side dishes are as authentic as it gets. Nice to know that there is a Korean restaurant in Hollywood. The only complaint I have is that the container that they put the water refill had some black/brown stuff on the spout probably due to continued use. Other than that, great place!

This is a good spot for homemade Korean food. They serve authentic and delicious Korean food at very reasonable prices.

I go to this place at least once a week all i can say is "Mm mm good"! It's never a disappointment and i feel it has different options for every taste palette. The dining area is small, and it seems that they lose a lot of business because of this, but it's a great experience nevertheless. Customer service is great! :)

Sigh. Made the mistake of coming here on a Saturday night a little before 9:30pm. Lights were on, two women (apparently staff or owners) were visible in the back, but the door was locked and they didn't get up as I approached the door. Not sure what their actual closing hours are - as the hours posted outside said closing on Saturdays is at 10:00pm. I'm fine with them closing earlier than that, but please have the courtesy to post the correct hours, or to put up a sign if for some reason there is a need to close earlier on special occasions. This place is very difficult to find unless you know where to look. The map location currently displayed by Yelp is completely wrong, and the location shown by Google - listing a closed "Daeho Restaurant" - is misleading. (And my Garmin took me to still another completely wrong place.) The restaurant is in the West Hollywood Stores Center, which is on the southwest corner of State Road 7 (apparently also known as US 441, apparently also known as South 60th Ave) and Hollywood Blvd. If you've come to a strip mall with a porno shop and a Peruvian Pollo d'Oro restaurant at the northern edge of the mall, you're in the right shopping plaza. However, the actual restaurant is tucked way back in the mall, far away from the Hollywood Blvd end. You go past the asian grocery shop, the pet store, all the other little places, and hang a right at the south end, way back behind the Denny's restaurant. In that far little corner of the shopping center on the end is where you will find the Korean restaurant. To be honest, it's a pretty desolate and scary-looking place to be at night, and I wouldn't want to work there myself. Although I didn't make it in on this last trip, I did get some food to go when I visited there last year (when the name on Yelp was just Joa Korean Restaurant). If I recall correctly, I had bulgogi and daeji bulgogi. The food was too sweet for my taste, and I was planning to give them another try before writing a negative review. But after this last experience, won't be making another trip there.

Are you kidding me?!? 4.5 stars? Must be a lie! The quality of the food doesn't deserve that. The soup I've ordered was not authentic Korean beef soups but more like red pepper soup that I can make better at home. The seafood pancake was not crispy and a bit soggy. The side dishes wasn't very appetizing. More so I am disappointed with their kimchi. Hole in the wall is right, it needs serious deep cleaning at this place!! The area is ghetto so be sure to lock your doors.

I go here often with my mom, the food is delicious, the staff are very friendly, the ambiance is slightly bland, but the food makes up for it. I always order the (chicken bulgogi) and the spice and flavor is to die for. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone.

Very good food. Recommended by the owner of one of my favorite restaurants. The seafood and noodles soup was one of the best. The hot pot bi bim bap was yummy good. Very unassuming spot not easy to find but the food was good and authentic Korean.

Great food. As authentic as you get in Hollywood FL. I have lived around the corner for almost 5 years and just discovered this place. Lol

I am still trying to get over how much a pleasant surprise my lunch was. The location is in a half abandoned strip mall anchored by a large thrift store. I had reservations about south Florida Korean cuisine in an area known for dying suburban commerce. However, my concerns were proven to be unjustified. Nothing dramatic here, and I was shocked cold noodles were not on the menu (the climate screams a need for bi bum myen), but the bulgogi and spicy pork were just like mom used to make. Well, not my mother. My Korean American dining partner, who is not known for her sentimentality, felt like this hit the spot.

Really enjoyed this place. We tested a bunch of the restaurants in Lauderhill and while the food was good, it was really expensive. This restaurant is in the cut, lol. It is hidden inside of the really old plaza on the south west corner of Hollywood Blvd and US411. It is small with only a handfull of chairs and 1 server. The food here was great (!!!)and bursting with flavour! We were also very pleasantly surprised by the bill. Highly recommend everything! Especially the bulgogi!

I tried this restaurant. Ordered BBQ squid and Bulgogi. Also had the kimchi soup. Tasty and spicy. I especially loved the squid and the sauce. I always love the traditional side dishes, especially the kimchi. The decor is simple but that is what gives it charm. Simple. Service is good. I live in Hallandale and it's nice to know there is a Korean nearby instead of driving all the way to Lauderhill. The place is hidden in a deserted shopping center but it's basically behind the Denny's. This is a restaurant worth trying.

Hole in the wall kind of place in a sketchy area- very simple, but they have delicious, authentic korean food. They usually have k-pop or a korean drama playing on the tv. I love the sides here & this is the first place I liked the kimchee. Their drinks didn't impress me much- they just have soda, water, green tea, and sake. But I would recommend this place for their Korean food, especially their bibimbap and bulgogi.

I was kinda stunned there was such quality food. This place is a hole in the wall in the ancient plaza on the south west corner of Hollywood Blvd and 441/SR7. Also really inexpensive compared to other Korean spots in south Florida. On Google maps it's called Daeho Restaurant. On the window, it says U-Know Korean Bistro. OUT.STANDING. Bulgogi was huge and crazy yummy. Bib Im Bop in a hot pot... amazing smokey hot sauce. Tasty side dishes. Yummy short ribs super tasty. Seafood scallion pancake is stuffed with octopus, scallops, mussels, calamari - crispy and wonderful. Waaaay more seafood than pancake. Restaurant has a pretty big menu for such a teeny tiny hole in the wall - appetizers, grill items, noodles, lots of soups. Place is really small, like 6 tables, but it is worth a special trip. Comparison... Gabose in Lauderhill ordering their significantly smaller seafood pancake and 2 comparable entrees was $133. Food there was okay, but not as tasty and the portions were less than half (no left overs, still munchie). This hole in the wall, the bill was $58, the bulgogi left overs fed the 2 of us the next day, and we are STUFFED. Food was delicious. Everything very well seasoned. Lip smacking.

I personally have never had actual Korean food before this (other than bakery items and such) so I have nothing to compare it to but it was amazing! I had the Kimchi Jigae and it was wonderful, it was spicy so I wouldn't recommend it to everyone but my friend had Ja Jang Myeong (I believe that's how you spell it) and it was also really good and not spicy at all. My brother had the Dolsot Bibimbab and it was also delicious. My food came out to $11.65 in total with tax. It's right next to a place called K Nails and there's no sign above to really direct where it is, just remember it's on a corner next to the K Nails place!

Food is divine, the atmosphere is O.K. The food makes up for the atmosphere. Must try the pig feet with all the chills.

Service was terrible. The waitress with glasses was rude and inpatient. That was not a busy time. We don't expect a professional service, but at least respect your customers. The price doesn't match food quality. We won't go again.

It was a Friday night and for no particular reasons, my wife and I had a craving for Korean food. I haven't had Korean food for a long time. I used to eat a lot of Korean food when I was living in L.A. But where can I find a good Korean restaurant near by my neighborhood? Yelp! of course! So I read some of my Yelp buddies had pay a visit here before, but it was under a different name. I am not sure if they are both under the same owner; however both businesses in Yelp has the same address. This is really a mom and pop hole in the wall family style type of restaurant. Not much to look at inside or out. Seats maybe about 25 people and offers pretty straight forward Korean dishes. I knew exactly what I wanted so ordering was easy. We ordered 3 simple dishes but it took like forever. I took a peek inside the kitchen and I saw two elder ladies working on the stove. I am guessing they were mom and grandma? Well, if its grandma working hard on our food, maybe I shouldn't be too critical about it. Our first dish was the seafood pancakes. It was both me and my wife's favorite dish. It was an egg pancake with shrimps, fish and squids inside and it was very tasty. The next dish was the grilled sliced marinated beef. It was served on a sizzling grilling plate with some sliced onions. The beef cut think with a lot of flavors and it was terrific. My least favorite dish of the evening was the fried egg rice. I was meant to order something else and ordered it by mistake. It had no flavor, nothing special and it cost $12.95 which I thought was totally overpriced. Overall we still kind of enjoyed our meal. I had ordered a Korean beer which was fine. 2 out of 3 dishes were great, but I think they are a bit pricy. So I felt like it really was 3.5 stars. But the highlight of the evening had to be the Korean pop music videos they played on their TV. Some of those Korean pop stars were just looking ridiculous in their weird makeups and costumes. Maybe I am getting old....? But now I know what my father felt like when he sees me playing my Guns N'Roses and Def Leppard music back in my high school days.

Had late lunch here , and it was fantastic! We had the beef bbq with different bachans ( sorry If I have misspelt this) , and a bowl of seafood soup. The beef was amazing , and so was the soup . I can't wait to come back here , and try different things!

This is my favorite restaurant in Hollywood. We've loved every single dish we've tried here, and go a couple of times a month. There are lots of little side dishes (kimchi, seaweed, sprouts, potatoes, etc.) that come with every meal. The food takes a while, but they're cooking to order, so we forgive them. The TV usually has Korean dramas or music videos playing very quietly, which is entertaining.

Best Korean restaurant I've found in South Florida. Not fancy, but very good food and charming service. Looking forward to my next visit!
