There are many choices for Peruvian food in the area, but Runas is the classiest choice. Excellent food in a contemporary neighborhood locale steps from Hollywood Blvd. and its overrated mediocre menagerie of restaurants. Try the ceviche, jalea and Tacu Tacu. You won't go wrong! Fair prices and plenty for lunch tomorrow.

Absolutely everything was delicious. I am now a Peruvian food fan forever. It's interesting how slightly spices change throughout South America to give it their own flavor. This restaurant is very modern and clean - completely unexpected aesthetically - but very enjoyable to dine in.

We really liked the food from this place. I read Marqus R's stellar review and looked at his pics of the food and just knew it was something both Hubby and I would enjoy! I couldn't even wait one day when I saw they had online ordering. This made things really easy for us as we had too many things going on to go to sit down in a restaurant and eat. So I clicked away and in less than an hour, we had our delicious Peruvian food at home. Hubby ordered the Lomo Saltado and he swears it's the best he's ever had. I had a bite of the beef, and I was convinced. That was the most tender juicy succulent piece of beef that I have had in a long time. Just wonderful. I went with the Fettuccini Neri Di Mare Runas and it was loaded with fresh seafood, and fabulous. My only complaint with it was that the mussel was overcooked, which I think was an adverse effect of a car ride. Other than that, thumbs way up from me, as the shrimp, calamari and scallops were perfect. Hubby had a similar dish with the Seafood Rice and he was making the kissing his fingertips gesture. He does that when he is having a food orgasm. It's really cute actually. One appetizer I don't recommend ordering outside of the restaurant is the Conchitas a la Parmesana (Scallops covered in Parmesan). This is a tough one to pack to go and they had placed it on aluminum foil and wrapped gently, but it didn't really work too well at home, although it was so delicious, I scraped as much off and then some as I could. I think I would have licked the foil if the dog were not watching me with that sad puppy face of his...just awesomeness. I would love to try in the restaurant some time. I have to mention the staff here. They were the best. They greeted me very warmly, and they made me very comfortable while I waited. They gave me water and some warm Cancha Salada to nibble on. We are definitely going to come here and eat some time, but until then I see us ordering a lot of take out. This place is that good!

For a Peruvian restaurant, I'm going Woohoo Five Stars on Runas because it is as good as it gets in Peruvian food, service and ambiance as you'll find around here. I started off with the "Pulpo Anticuchaero," $15, being a 16 hour sous vide octopus grilled and charred with parrilla flavors served with Peruvian white corn, Peruvian potato and cheese. When served, it came on a sizzling hot plate, the mouthwatering smells of which sort of crawled right up my nose and with outstanding totally authentic to Peru flavors and taste. The octopus itself was of generous proportions, perfect in flavor balance and nicely enhanced by its sides of corn and potato. I also went for their signature dish of "Fettuccini di mare Runas", $22, what was basically to me a seafood Alfredo linguine, though they refer to the sauce as a "mother sauce," which was presented in a bowl, had a good, totally tasty Alfredo like sauce with scallops, mussels, shrimp and squid. Overall well balance both in flavor and taste, and in generous serving portion. I wouldn't say that such was authentic or true to Peruvian tradition, but what was more a chef's special creation based upon what is basically Peruvian with Italian influences, which was just fine with me as I'm never as concerned with authenticity as much as I am with a chefs creative capabilities. The restaurant itself has a nice clean modern décor about it, appealing to the area, definitely upper notch in style and the service I has was outstanding.

The first time I came here a few months back I only came to pick up food that I had ordered. I came a little early and decided to come in and wait at the bar and get a drink while I waited. The bartender Nulua recommended a pisco sour and wow is all I can say. A little passion fruit on the bottom and I dont know what else but it was amazing. All must order this drink! Now on my birthday last week I decided to come again. We ordered the Seco and it did not disappoint! Mixed Ceviche and Lomo Saltado the beef was mouth watering. We got there around 3pm and stayed till 10 pm. I think we ordered about 16 pisco sours between 2 people lol not to mention I was surprised by a delicious chocolate cake and they came to sing happy birthday. Seriously felt special! The service was outstanding, wait staff very attentive, chefs are on point, food amazing, ambiance beautiful, bathrooms clean, owner hot! lol I think I have become a regular! Highly recommended and an experience that will have you coming back for more!

The food here is incredible! So fresh and delicious! We enjoyed the muscles appetizer and each bite was an explosion of flavor! The mixed seafood civiche was equally good, with all of the ingredients melding together to give an unbelievable taste! The octopus, shrimp, and squid were super fresh! I would also highly recommend the sea bass with risotto. Service was prompt and very friendly, even though they were busy. A nice wine list pairs well with the food. Overall a great dining experience! I will be returning soon!

Went to this restaurant after reading positive online reviews. Immediately upon entering the restaurant my friend & I looked at one another with similar looks of concern on our faces--there was a very obvious funky fish odor in the air--NOT something you want to smell when you're about to eat sushi or ceviche!! The hostess seated us & a waitress immediately came over with menus. The menu looked good, and the other patrons in the restaurant looked happy, so with some trepidation we decided to stay. After a few minutes we no longer noticed the smell, though to be honest I don't think it went away, I just think we became accustomed & acclimated to it. Anyway, we ordered two apps & the mixed seafood sampler of three different types of ceviche. All in all it was really really good, and I'll definitely return, though I hope the smell was a one-time thing. Two apps, one large entree (which was more than enough for two people), and four beers for $85. Expensive by Hollywood standards, but imho the restaurant scene in the Hollywood/Hallandale area is sorely lacking, so maybe you get what you pay for?

Went here for lunch and was surprised that the place wasn't busy at all. Rain kept people away I guess. The atmosphere there was definitely Peruvian and tasteful. Was in the mood for ceviche so I got an order in after taking the servers recommendation to upgrade to a higher quality of fish going with Mahi Mahi. It was the best ceviche I have had in a Peruvian restaurant before - including in Peru. She also said I should try the grilled octopus which I saw that a lot of reviews had posted here on Yelp. It was excellent and worth it completely. One of the best octopus dishes I've had besides Pulpo en su tinta I had last year somewhere else. Very attentive service from an attractive woman was nice too. Going back again for sure!! Loved it

I dined here recently for lunch! The food and service were insane! For starters, we ordered the combo appetizer. It included a pork tamale, a leche de Tigre fish ceviche, and Huancaina potatoes! Our favorites were the tamale and potatoes. The portion of ceviche was too large for an appetizer, so we ended up wasting a lot of it! For the main course, we ordered the seafood pasta and the chicken aji ravioli. Both pastas were devine! The portions were large, and we got 2 big meals out of each dish! We unfortunately didn't have any space left for dessert, but I can imagine how good it must be! If you're ever in Hollywood, be sure to dine here!

Runas is the best peruvian restaurant in south florida. I have eaten in a lot of peruvian restaurant and runas beats every single one of them by far. My wife and I went out to eat and we had a great experience. Food is not only amazing, the service is outstanding. I had the huancaina risotto with lomo saltado and every bite was out of this world. I'm definately coming back and i recommed everyone to check this place out! You wont regret it!

Let me just start by saying this: This review should have been a 5. The only reason it's not is because I had unsatisfying service. I came in around 8:30 on a Sunday night and the place was half empty. I ordered one of their ceviche appetizers (delicious!) and their mixed platter of Octopus, Calamari, and Shrimp. The food is excellent. Simply put, this was one of the greatest meals I've ever had the pleasure of eating... BUT THEY TOOK OVER AN HOUR TO BRING ME MY ENTREE. I used to work in the restaurant industry so I know how it can get, but in the time I was there I saw a party of three come in after me, order, eat and leave as well as a party of EIGHT come in order and get their food before me... And one of them ordered the exact same entree I did. If the food wasn't so damned good, I'd be leaving a one star review.

Excellent! All the way! Never had a bad meal nor service here. Authentic flavor with a modern twist: *. Risotto a la Huancaina with Lomo Saltado - creamy and delicious combo *. Papa a la Huancaina - potatoes cooked throughout with the right hint of spice *. Causas - get the sampler. All well presented and flavorful, but we tend to go back to the Chicken one *. Salmon was grilled with a touch of Asian flavor * Arroz Chaufa with pollo was Amazing! They deconstructed it with teriyaki base chicken chunks on top * Ravilios of aji de gallina were awesome! You rarely find these in Peruvian restaurants Ask for Jorge, he is wonderful and all of their staff is very attentive. Parking was easy in front of restaurant and away from traffic at YC. This place won't disappoint!

We just wanted to have some fresh tasty seafood while visiting Florida and my wife found this Peruvian rest. on Yelp so we decided to stop and try it. It was Amazing!!! The owner and the our server were very nice and friendly. We order the red snapper special which isn't on a menu and special ceviche (appetizer). The ceviche was super fresh like no one. My wife and I totally loved the place. Highly recommended.

My favorite plate is the rissoto huancaina with fillet mignon....ufff YummY. Everything is delicious here...try the aji de gallina, fetuccini al pesto and for the dessert tiramisu of lucuma. The best peruvian restaurant at Hollywood!

  • Sofia H.

Best ceviche ever!!!.... If you are Peruvian and you want to taste the classic flavor of a super fresh ceviche nobody like chef Luis santos ... He delivery the best "made in front of you classic ceviche" and if you like spicy "until tears" they are happy to offer fresh cut "aji limo" .... different flavors right there made for you with the variety of ceviches starting for Runas ceviche ... A mixed flavors between "anticucho" smoke flavor and ceviche ....my husband tried the "Fried Pargo a lo macho" made by chef Gerardo Landa .... Out of this world !!! And enough for two if you want to try a dessert to die for .... "Picarones with lucuma ice cream " .... Amazing service ! Full bar ... Great pisco sours and overall The owners/co owners are there in place to pleasure your taste and have a great experience

Came for dinner late Sunday night. We met a friend from our of town here. The place wasn't busy but we kind of expected that since it was kind of late. The food was good, the causas were tasty and a good way to share an appetizer. The food was all great and if in the area and in the mood for Peruvian would definitely come back!

This very hip restaurant has managed to stay true to it roots, food was incredible. The service was excellent. The ambience is elegant and its also in one of the oldest buildings in Hollywood . I loved this place. Owners and staff are amazing

  • David B.

Extraordinary food , great presentation of the plates and flavor just right. Among the Peruvian restaurants here in Miami I can say one of the best . The risotto Huacahina with meat is phenomenal, full of mix flavors is a must is you like meat. Sea food is the speciality and the "arroz de mariscos" is a must

  • Sam P.

We came for dinner again and experienced the same delicious food and wonderful service! We also learned that the price for the "chef's special" appetizer has been lowered. I tried the pisco sour and LOVED it! The ice is perfectly slushy-like and the egg white is whipped to perfection. The dusting of nutmeg really compliments the flavors! I highly recommend this drink!

The ceviche was awesome... Maybe the best I've ever eaten... DELICIOUS Everything was very good, the waiters were very nice and professional. Very nice place to go

I have never had Peruvian food before, and I gotta tell you. Of all the places I have eaten all over the world. This is the absolute best I have ever had. I got the risotto with ribeye steak and its was absolutely amazing. The service was the beat I have ever had, my wife dropped her table napkin and the servers immediately saw her reach down to pick it up and when she looked up they were there with a new one. My glass was never below half due to them consistently refilling all beverages. I will be back as often as my schedule allows.

A must in south Florida for ceviche! We ordered the seafood rice, seafood ceviche, and lobster ceviche. Definitely the best. Service was great too-- very attentive. Can't wait to come back.

Excellent food! Large serving and very nice service. I wish my mouth was bigger. My eyes can eat the entire menu but...there is always tomorrow.

Never had Peruvian before, and this was a fantastic introduction! My one mistake was agreeing to the special appetizer of the day, since I stopped listening after the word 'octopus'. It turned out to be a fantastic sampler of octopus, veal heart, potatoes, and scallops. It was so delicious, but huge, and we hardly had room for our main meals. I had the Sepa con Arroz (I think?). I was so sad I filled up on the appetizer, because I had to box up most of this fantastic meal. My husband had taku taku with beef (don't remember the full name). It was also fantastic. We brought our leftovers back to the hotel and enjoyed them for lunch the next day. The prices were on the high side of two dollar signs, but worth it. The service was impeccable. They were very attentive, and wanted to be sure we were happy. I would definitely recommend.

These people are doing Peruvian food proud. There is nothing on their menu that is not five stars. So far I have tried seco de res, filet mignon with pesto linguini, risotto a la huancaina, arroz chaufa, and ravioli aji de gallina. I will keep on coming back for ever. My husband and I went at least five times the month after discovering this place. Try the suspiro limeño for dessert, yum.

    (5)
  • Matt B.

Lots of choices...great atmosphere and prices for what you get. Had the trio appetizer...tamale, potato, and ceviche...all were incredible. The seafood rice was amazing as was the pasta....great place where you get a lot of value. And the pisca sours are great!

  • Roberto J.

Exquisite, the flavors are incredible. Maybe a little bit pricey but you forget when you dig in. Risotto a la huancaina all the way. Beef just melts in your mouth.

I went for dinner with my kids, and we arrived just in time after the dinner rush. From beginning to end, we received stellar service, seriously some of the best service I have ever experienced. Our server checked up on us several times during the meal and phenomenal food. I fell in love of the Risotto with a creamy Huancaina sauce with Lomo Saltado, The steak was a perfect, beautiful shade. They use certified Angus beef. This dish had me at first bite. The ambiance was so warm. Restaurant is located at Hemingway's building with an atmosphere of culture and history. We will definitely have to go back.

Definitely an oral orgasm from any dish you eat here ! Grilled octopus was ... the Risotto Huacahina was decadent as well as thge waiters were very helpful and extremely comforting . this is a definite keeper !!!

    (5)
  • Meishu D.

Probably one of the best ceviches ever! The limo salteado was good but not excellent the onions cut way too big and steak was not so tender. Tomatoe pieces much too big and the rice seemed under cooked. We tried most appetizers. Very good. Decor not inviting feels cold and chairs not comfortable. So best best go for the ceviche and don't stay long.

    (4)
  • Ozie A.

The appetizer was potatoes, corn, scallops served with a cheese topping in the scallop shell, grilled octopus and grilled steak (cows heart). Ahhh this was so fresh and so flavorful. It has a nice bite to it. The Seafood Rice was outstanding. And I topped it off with Lucama (mousse topping with a chocolate cake bottom). Amazing! Do yourself a favor and check it out.

Great little place. The octopus appetizer and accompanying sauce are excellent. Good service too. You will not be disappointed!

The best ceviche in South Florida!!! The service is great and a nice atmosphere. I've had a few things on the menu and all the dishes have been phenomenal. I always ask for extra spicy! Today I had the lomo saltado over risotto. Excellent!

This is by far the best Peruvian restaurant in South Florida and I have been to many.. I also travel to Peru quite often and I must say the food here is just as good if not better then some of the finest restaurants I've been to there. They are so accommodating and it's my new favorite place I am there least 3 times a week..bravo. .you must go!

  • Walid Z.

This place is by far one of the best restaurants in south Florida. I am not going to review any specific appetizer, entree, dessert, or even drink. Just close your eyes and put your finger on the menu and I can guarantee you it will be delicious. Great staff and manager. Service is beyond awesome, I dropped my fork, my waiter appeared out of thin air with another. My wife's napkin, same. Plates were changed like three times so we don't mix up our hot appetizers sauces with our cold ones. Ceviche, oh my ceviche!, prices are very reasonable. Simply Amazing all rounder here.

  • Natalie C.

This place is incredible. The food and service is top notch. I felt like I was a Ritz Carlton hotel. They have excellent attention to detail. Service is always number one for me and this place hit the nail on the head. The food at this place is just phenomenal. I had the grilled octopus with white corn and potatoes for my starter and I wasn't disappointed. Before the dish was even placed in front of me I was already drooling. They present it to you sizzling on a hot plate and MAN does it smells wonderful! The octopus is melt in your mouth flavorful and tender. I savored every bite until the last. I then had the Salado Risotto with Peruvian Peppers and Onions. I can't even begin to tell you how good this dish was. This is by far the creamiest risotto I ever had. This is what risotto should taste like. The meat was tender and flavorful and just cooked to perfection. I then had the Quinoa Crème Brule for dessert. I was a little on the fence when I ordered it because it's quinoa and everyone is putting it into everything these days but it was fantastic. It was a spectacular finish to a wonderful dining experience. If you are in Hollywood please check this place out. This is great place for a first date or when you want to impress but don't want bust your wallet. The ambiance is ultra-sexy in the evening.

Sadly I'm not able to add more than five stars. Best Peruvian food we've ever had. Great food, excellent service in a beautiful restaurant. When we were about to leave a man began to play violin and the music was great.

  • David T.

If I could take back another star I would, today had dinner here. Just like last time the serve wasn't attentive, the manager had came a few times just to ask if we need anything else. I had to place a to go order with manager because our server was MIA. Not once did they ask us for a refill, and when we tried to ask for something the server turned around quickly and didn't hear us. Food was good but not as good like before. Something is missing here; not sure what it is. Now when it came for the check the server was quick to bring check and take credit card.

Me and my wife, walked in here on a Saturday night, we were drawn by the crowd and trendy vibe. We were quickly seated and handed menus. My wife ordered a bottle of wine very reasonably priced at $24, I ordered a Peruvian beer which was pretty good. The owner was present and very involved ensuring every customer had everything they needed. Customer Service is great! On to the food I ordered Lomo Saltado it was delicious, everything about the dish was perfect we literally cleaned our plates. Runas is a hidden Gem.

Delicious food and the service was great! We had octopus, ceviche and lomo saltado. The octopus was soft and tasty. The ceviche super citrusy. And the steak and risotto were just perfect. The ambiance was very relaxing and I would say even a little romantic. I went with my ex who is super picky and he liked it! Lol!!

Very fresh, very authentic and tasty. Service was a bit slow for lunch in my opinion, hence 4 stars, but it wasn't unbearable. Servers are nice and very attentive, you'll never run out of water I will recommend to others and will surely come back. I paid $16 (with tax+tip) for the lunch special, which is very generous

This is my first time eating from this restaurant. I actually called for delivery and was very unfortunate to find out, that I was out of their way. After hanging up the call, a nice gentleman said they would deliver for a fee since I was out of their way. He heard my voice of disappointment and just said, "Don't worry. We will take you your meal". Not only was it delivered- it was delivered by the owner of the restaurant, himself. The food is absolutely exquisite! I will definitely become a regular.

We really really enjoyed this place. Food is amazing. If there was a 6 star rating I would put 6 here. We had chaufa rice with seafood and filet mignon over pesto fettuccini. My Gosh! The chefs are unbelievably good. The flavors they get to your plate you wont get in any other place. This is it. Simply best Peruvian food in South florida. Restaurant is clean and service very good. Luciano was our server and had very good suggestions for our meal, the service was fantastic. Will be back for sure.

We got carryout from here while traveling by finding the restaurant through Yelp. We ordered online because it was our toddlers bedtime and didn't want to take him to a restaurant. I went to pick it up and it wasn't ready, which was fine because I came immediately. The gave me a seat at the bar and some Peruvian snacks and water while I was waiting and the staff was extremely friendly and attentive. The food was all delicious. I cannot remember the names but our favorite was the appetizer with crab and potato. We will definitely come back if we travel there again!

Downtown Hollywood needs more places like this. Perfect combination of great drinks, food and atmospherics. You have to try the lomo and the jalea. Just as good as Savor a Peru if not better.

We tried this place Friday evening, based on a recommendation from a Peruvian friend. The food is fantastic! We had their signature ceviche - warmed, in a yellow pepper sauce. Absolutely delicious, as was the parihuela (seafood soup) and the seafood in quinoa sauce. Honestly, the food was REALLY good, as was the service. The bad: There was a soccer game between Peru and Paraquay. Numerous TV's were on at deafening volume. It was so loud we could not have a conversation at our table. We asked to turn the tv down a little bit, but it made no difference. The place is nicely decorated, great food, good service, but if you want a quiet, enjoyable dining experience, you may not get it if you're not a rabid soccer fan (we're not). If not for the noise, I would have enthusiastically rated this 5 stars.

  • Alberto B.

The best Peruvian food in South Florida. The grilled octopus cannot be missed! You can tell the chefs are very experienced. Have been several times and the food is always on point. The "Huancaina risotto" is the perfect example of the more unique dishes they offer, but if you're into more traditional Peruvian cuisine, just try the ceviche or Lomo and you'll be convinced this is not just another Peruvian restaurant. The place is brand new, very nice ambiance, great drinks and very caring staff. LET ME REITERATE, TRY THE GRILLED OCTOPUS!!!

Went on a Sunday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised at how busy it was. The building is gorgeous and the interior is very pretty and chic. The service was really good. They greeted us right away and were attentive throughout. The owner even came over and said hello which I thought was a nice touch. Onto the food... It was really tasty and the servings were larger than most. Had the ceviche and a causa and another dish. All plates were cleaned. The prices were really reasonable too. Overall I think this is a great little place and hope it succeeds.

  • Merna A.

Amazing food, amazing service. We had the special three pepper ceviche (not on the menu) and the Mahi a la maucho. If you're looking for an amazing ceviche dish, ask the waiter for the three pepper ceviche which is a mix of all the sauces into one amazing creamy spicy sauce. It is to die for. The Mahi dish was also incredible. Will definitely be back.

How is it possible that we missed this place so many times while driving to Young Circle in Hollywood? Oh well, in any case my wife and I are glad we didn't have to wait another month. Cool vibe, and friendly service, attentive wait staff, and the owners are always around to make sure everything is running smoothly. Oh and the food, so yummy that my wife and I decided to add it to our "will most definitely return" list. To start off- Conchitas A La Permesana (Scallops A La Parmesan), I can still taste it, and perhaps I will just order that next time, with a plate of risotto. My wife had the Chef's Special of whole fried Snapper, prawns, shrimp, and scallops over a bed of risotto, and yes, I did help her with the snapper, as it took up most of the large plate. I had the Risotto Huancaina co Lomo Saltado, which means marinated sirloin strips in a Huancaina sauce. Huancaina means from Huancayo, a province in Peru. My wife kept telling me that she should have ordered my dish instead, and yes, I let her try some of my dish, why not right? We washed it down with two glasses of Sauvignon Blanc Galan from Chile, a fairly good white wine with some mild tartness, and hints of lemon grass. I left feeling very impressed, and hope to return again soon.

Was a little disappointed as it came highly recommended to me. The food was decent but did not blow me away. Service was good and owner showed an interest. Probably set my expectation too high. Ordered a pitcher of sangria that was decent but ended up costing almost $40.

This place is great and only a short distance from Hollywood Blvd. The aji de gallina and lomo saltado are excellent and well priced. The ceviche is delicious. One of them has a grilled taste to it. A must have! The drinks are also very good. Make sure to try the drinks made with Pisco. I already like this place a lot and I haven't even looked at the desert menu yet. Great place for a date too.

The food was really good for the most part. The ceviche is great and the red snapper is just finger licking good. The lomo salteado was a little too salty and the place has techno music on which is why it's missing a star. Overall a great place to eat if your in the area.

Visited this new spot in Hollywood multiple times so far. Fantastic Ceviche, and the wine selection offers a great value and high quality options.

I highly recommend you try this place. Peruvian food is very different from Mexican food. The ambiance is nice and the service is excellent. We started with a pisco sour, a traditional Peruvian cocktail. Yummy! We tried the special appetizer, which was octopus, grilled steak skewers, scallops, potatoes and corn on a table grill. This is not our standard corn, and it was all great. My hubby had the whole snapper, which was great. I thought a whole fish might be off-putting, but it was presented rather elegantly. I had a seafood chowder, which was just too salty for me. When they realized I wasn't eating my food, they quickly offered to replace it, but I wasn't really hungry any more and just nibbled a bit of my hubby's fish dish. Not only did they comp my stew, but they brought me a fresh, less salty sample to try. Just how a restaurant should handle it. I wish Yelp had half stars, but no. I reserve 5 stars for flawless, and this place is close.

First time visiting this new Peruvian restaurant in Hollywood and I have to say the grilled octopus and the risotto are amazing. Our server Stephanie was great, very helpful and gave great recommendations. Oh I almost forgot the Trio Ceviche was amazing.

Great place...overall the food was delicious...with lots of options...from the traditional plates to more Modern combinations...definitely coming back...they have a nice bar with flat TV's so it's a good spot if you want to enjoy a game or spend time with friends...parking is available and is free (not something usual in the area) so that was a nice surprise!

Tuna sushi roll was fresh with the most delicate of flavors. Everything for presentation and service! We will return with family and friends!

I ordered a dish of their special quinoto de mariscos estilo Runas. It was delicious, a mix of seafood over slowly cooked quinoa dressed in their Runas mother sauce. Good size portion, you can actually share it. Nothing to envy the high end Peruvian restaurants.

  • Jorge C.

Best lomo saltado I've ever had. They have several variations of it to. Been to most Peruvian restaurants in dade and Broward county and runas is the absolute best.

  • Don J.

As a Peruvian I have to say that the food is average, I had a whole grouper(fresh fish) , Parmesan scallops( not great) Mahi Mahi a lo macho(dry fish) causa de pollo( not great), suspiro a la limeña, pisco sour, white sangria( didn't taste the wine at all). None of them were exquisite, the place is neat and have a nice atmosphere but I'm definitely not going back there and pay those prices for an average meal.

Great little corner at Hollywood, Florida. They have an excellent service and dishes are tasteful and some of them have a new swing and fusion style. We tried Causa Runas as appetizer and it was a home run. I tried a traditional Seco con arroz, it was delicious. Some on our group are other traditional plates like ahi de gallina and lomo on pesto, delicious. Chocolate and Lucuma cake was the top of the line. Great Peruvian restaurant

I go this restaurant on a regular since I discovered it 3 times a week. Best Peruvian food I've had in the us! There specialty ceviches are to die for, they have like 8 different kinds and the hardest part is which one to chose I've also had there choros a LA chalcka which it's muscles with a tomato onion sauce they call salsa criolla amazing best I've ever had and I'm from Peru!! I love the food and the customer service is amazing. Gerardo, tony and everyone else is great and they always make sure u are completely pleased with the dish. I recommend this place to anyone seafood, lomo which is steak the papa a la guancayna just amazing I'm sure if you go there once you will always go back! Ohhh and they deliver!!!!!!

Love the location and decor but the place just misses. Alot had to do with our waitress but the food was nothing special. 1 the waitress says they have 2 beers a dark and a light from peru . She is lost when we ask amber or dark... Turns out the dark is golden like Bud... The Lime we asked for with our water never came. Ordered the Octopus app and the fish special. We weren't sure which sauce to order so asked to try both and then we would decide. The Octopus was not grilled properly they marinate and cook it in a slow oven for 16 hours but when they flam-bayed it the skin was soft and gelatinous. Again we had to ask for the sauces and decided on the chipolte sauce. Waitress asked regular or hot. We said the way it was served was fine. only problem is they gave us no heat instead of what we tasted. I asked for green hot sauce and it drew a black she said she could have a pepper chopped up.... which never came until we asked about it after the meal. We were then asked if we wanted to order dinner which she forgot to put in. The special was a beautiful whole fried fish with rice shrimp and muscles. The sauce was a one trick pony and we had to ask for serving spoons and lime for the fish. For $40 there should have been more depth of flavor and or heat to the sauce.

Excellent! The flavors explode in your mouth. The presentation was excellent. The atmosphere was very relaxed and we were made to feel at home. The service was excellent and I strongly recommend this Resturant to anyone looking for authentic Peruvian dishes. The octopus was to die for and the ceviche sampler had me drinking out of the bowls. I will be back very soon to try more dishes.

Really 41/2 stars. My husband and I ate here last night and we were just blown away! We hadn't eaten Peruvian food before and now the bar is set high. The space is comfortably modern and elegant. The service is top notch and very friendly. The food? Amazing! We shared four dishes: the octopus (on recommendation of previous Yelpers), ceviche mixto, risotto con lomo and picarones. Initially, we thought we would just be eating the first two courses but they were so delicious we just had to experiment further. Muy Bueno!! Our bellies were bulging and our tastebuds were so happy that we hated to brush the flavors from our teeth. Please give this place your business as the effort put forth by the entire staff should not go unnoticed.

Delicious food and excellent service! In an unlikely location on Dixie between Tyler and Polk, you can find this modern and stylish restaurant offering a contemporary take on Peruvian Cuisine. The grilled octopus and ceviche sampler are must haves and the Peruvian risotto with Filet Mignon is to die for.

Totally agree with the 5 star reviews... This place has upped the game for Peruvian food in North Miami/Hollywood. Food quality was on par with Ceviche105 and the service was amazing... We were here for a late lunch and the restaurant was quiet. Stayed with Peruvian standards and all was excellent. Again, very impressed with the quality of the food, service, and the decor. Great place that will become a regular for us.

Just got home from a week in Milleflores. Wanted to see how close a US based Peruvian restaurant could come. Runas hit all the high points. Pico sours, papa a la huaciana, aji de gallina and mariscos with rice. Excellent. Service was very good. Loved the restaurant decor and on a Sunday a violinist. Even a readily available parking spot right outside.

A group of us ate here last Friday. The restaurant just opened so, of course, its not a perfectly well-oiled machine just yet but don't let that distract you from the delicious, authentic food and excellent service! The staff is on point and so friendly. The owners often come out to the table to interact with the guests which is always a plus. They talk to you about the dishes and really care about whats in their food. The decor is simple but interesting and refined. We ordered the ceviche sampler and it was a hit! Also the Mahi Mahi. I would suggest ordering a few dishes for the table and sharing. The tapas approach to dining would definitely work here. You'll get bored ordering a whole plate to yourself because you will want to try everything. They have a nice bar where you can sit to get a ceviche and some drinks. I would suggest this spot for parties, dinners for two or even a night out with girlfriends. They have nice music playing (although they should get AD-FREE listening!!!) and the atmosphere is casual but also hip with a touch of elegance. The prices are totally fair considering everything is totally fresh!! I will definitely keep visiting this spot (and we live in Midtown Miami!) There is nothing like clean, fresh and light Latin food.

Runas, located in the historic Hemingway's building just off Hollywood Blvd on 21st is a Ten Star dining experience! It's a fusion explosion of the highest order. I've sampled so many dishes and will continue to do so until I've feasted on them all. Though fish (in its many forms) is the main-stay, there is nothing you can't either find on the menu or request from the house. This place has put Hollywood on the map as a fine dining destination.

Three couples ate here on on a week night. We had the cerviche as an appetizer, three different sauces so delicious. The grilled octopus was great but the meat on the skewer was tough. We tried their signature mojito with passion fruit and it was so different and refreshing. Our group loved the fresh red snapper, the curry mahi mahi but the steak and risotto was very salty. The menu in this restaurant is extensive and virtually IMPOSSIBLE to read as is their sign outside. The place itself is modern and tastefully decorated. The wait staff is polite and friendly. Our bill with one drink, no dessert was $75 per person, a bit pricey

Food is acceptable. My friends did enjoyed the octopus. BUT Be CAREFUL READING YOUR CHECK. THEY OVERCHARGED THE PRICES. THERE WAS AN EXTRA 15% Over from their Menu list. Very disappointed. Then when i asked the manager why the prices i was presented with the menu with the prices i had been charged, he just said that : Don't worry i will give you a discount". I told h that i was not asking for discounts, but to be charged with the prices that were in the menu. Then it happens that my friends (we were a group of 8). All their checks were overcharged as well. Fraud? I am not going back

Starting from the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was perfect. Outstanding service from Luciano, a cozy decor and most importantly the food was outstanding. We took 2 sampler appetizer for 4 of us - the cerviche sampler and the octopus combo. Everything we tried was perfectly seasoned and beautifully presented. We could not decided on the main courses so we tried different the seafood with risotto and the steak. Hospitality from the owners was a warm & attentive. Everything was fab. This will be our new favorite spot we we visit the area. See you soon!

This is not only the best Peruvian food its the best food anywhere in Aventura , Hollywood or Hallandale . I eat there daily and its perfect each time . You would have to be a complete clown not to enjoy every bite of this food . If you know Peruvian cuisine you would know Runas is the best you can find anywhere . The fish is top notch and their meat dishes are insane . The best thing is everyone is super nice . Its just a great place to be.

Chic decor with amazing food and excellent service. I had mahi mahi over caper risotto with traditional Peruvian sauce that delighted my palate. My Husband had seafood quinoa dish loaded with seafood mixed with curry like sauce. Beautiful intimate space for a date night.

I need another star. I had the mahi mahi macho. Our lovely waitress, Lisa, recommended it. My friend had lomo saltado. Very nice-- have with rice and beans, not rice and fries. Violinist playing at lunch (Sunday). The place is spotless. Sangria (both red and white) are perfectly made. Lots of families with kids but not in a loud way. Don't miss this place. I'll return on my next trip to Miami.

I am a long-time critic of restaurant choices in Hollywood but Runas stands out as an exception. Simply put, the food is outstanding. We had the grilled octopus (butter tender), ceviche sampler (as good as in Lima), and risotto with filet mignon (cleaned the plate). The desserts were awesome (can't recall their names but they utilized peruvian exotic fruits. One was a mousse and one was a sort of fried donut with honey (I think made my the owner's mother). I will be back!
