Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

Fast-food restaurants like Pizza Hut are not recommended to dine-in if you are diagnosed with high blood pressure. Most pizzas at Pizza Hut are high in sodium and hence you must stick to one or max. two slices of any regular size pizza to limit your sodium intake. Try out the salads as they are not only healthy but also keeps you full for a longer period. However, you must ensure that you don't order the salads without any extra dressing.

High Cholesterol at Pizza Hut

Whether large, medium or small, a pizza can boost your cholesterol levels instantly. You shouldn't eat more than one slice of any pizza your order at Pizza Hut. If you're concerned with your high cholesterol, then it is wise to take your friends to Pizza Hut and share pizza among them slice by slice. You can also try pasta at Pizza Hut but ensure that you are not adding any dressing or extra cheese as you order pasta.

Ick. This place reminds me of Thursdays. Thursdays used to be pizza day at my elementary school. That's what this tastes like. I actually used to really like the Pizza Rustica in Fort Lauderdale 5 years ago. Now it's just blah. Heated up crusty bread with random toppings. I don't get it.

Hard to believe this location's fallen through the review cracks. I find each of these locations to be pretty consistent. They all offer decent pizza for a good price. And I love the fact that you've got a wide variety available by the slice. And the health conscious can have a salad.

I thought the Rusticated on S.Beach was just Ok, but the pizza here in Hollywood tasted like soggy Wonder Bread pizza. If you know good pizza this is not the place for .

Food over priced and not fresh. Chicken parm sandwich was definitly frozen chicken strips thrown onto bread with sauce. Dont forget to pay for parking!!!

This pizza rusti a is awful!!!!!!!!!!!! Stay away and go for the drive and make down to the original location in South Beach on Lincoln Road. The pizza tastes funny and they serve it barely warm. Went there twice trying to give it the benefit of the doubt. NEVER again! Not worth the $5 in change for a slice of old looking barely warm yucky pizza. Its a shame because the original restaurant is AMAZING!!!!!!

My fiancee introduced me to Pizza Rustica when we started dating. He lived in South Beach at the time and was familiar with a couple of the chains around the area. So a few months ago we decided to take a evening stroll around Hollywood (FL) Young Circle to see what changes they did to the Downtown area. And that's when we spotted Pizza Rustica! We did not know they had one in Hollywood. So we walked in and it was pretty empty. Just a couple of patrons and this chic behind the counter looked like she didn't speak English that well. Once we were seated we waited for quite awhile. Then our pizza finally came. We ordered our usual Rustica with: "A delicious country-style pizza with plum tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, tangy sun dried tomatoes, artichokes, diced fresh plum tomatoes, the finest prosciutto ham, kalamata olives and fresh basil." It looked good until we cut a slice and noticed the oil dripping from the pizza. It was pretty greasy. It was like any ordinary greasy pizza. The dough tasted like it wasn't cooked well. And to let you know how bad it was, both our stomachs started feeling weird. Mines was the worse! Of all the times of going to the Rustica in Lincoln Rd and the one on 863 Washington Avenue, I never had any stomach issues what so ever! But for the patrons who want to try Pizza Rustica, don't come here!! Go to the original in South Beach! It was the best!!!! You will not be dissapointed!!!

For some reason, the website for Domino's automatically put Ralphie's old address in Coconut Grove... don't know how, but we cancelled the order, and then it was too late to order our pizza to us from the Hollywood location. So we looked up Pizza Rustica's Hollywood phone number and called up to see if they were open.. they were open till 4 a.m... Well, they were surrounded by clubs and bars, so it was no suprise. When we got there, we had to look for parking, but the pizza was already ready... good to go! This place was a life saver since we wanted pizza so bad. The two guys at the counter seemed friendly and asked if we were new in Hollywood. Yes, we were, and I never thought they'd actually care. It was cool :) The spicy sausage pizza we ordered was filling and flavorful.

I used to go there all the time, but the service and the food have gone down completely. The last few times I went the pizza was old and dry and there is always issues with their credit card machine.

Blah. Overpriced slices ($5!) with tough, bready crust and boring ingredients. Never again.

The only word to describe this place is ridiculous. I have been to the Hollywood location about 5 times and I think this will be the last. The "waitress" was rude to us too many times to keep count and they had crazy rock music blasting so loud a conversation was almost impossible. We had to ask them to heat the pizza again and even then it wasn't the way pizza should be. If this was the last pizza place on earth, I would have to give up pizza.

My issue isn't so much with the pizza, which is pretty good, it's with the service. The last two times I ordered pizza for delivery, we didn't get what we requested. On both occasions we ordered a pizza with the thick crust, like the ones they have displayed in the restaurant windows. Both times we got a thin crust pizza. They were good, but they weren't what we ordered. The second time around, I made it a point to explain exactly what I wanted and the girl taking the order repeated it back to me so I know we were on the same page. They sent the wrong kind of crust again so this time I called to complain and they offered to send us another pizza, but not without having to first convince the girl taking the order that there was in fact a HUGE difference between the thin crusted pizza we received versus the thick Sicilian style pizza crust they have displayed in their window (I often wonder if people think their customers are really that stupid). We accepted to take another pie because my dad was dead set on having his thick crust pizza, but we were starving so the rest of us ate what was there. When the driver arrived he demanded to see the old one and snatched it out of my hand. He had such a crappy attitude that I asked him if there was a problem. He said there was none as he gave me his back and stormed off like a petulant child. Needless to say I called again and spoke with the manager and let it rip. My dad may love their pizza, but I don't plan to return to Pizza Rustica anytime in the near future. Note to restaurants...especially those in South Florida... service matters!!!

"Oh, man, you gotta try Pizza Rustica. It's awesome!" "Dude, been to Rustica?" That's all I had heard before finally trying this place. I don't know why this place whips people into a frenzy, but it does. It's like the Cheesecake Factory of pizzerias or something . . . not awful, but not really good. If it were the only game in town, eating there might make sense. But at this location, it's among a ton of other restaurants. With Mauro's, a few doors down, there really isn't a reason to eat at Pizza Rustica, unless your thing is paying more for poorer quality. The crust is too crispy, crunchy in fact. It's tastes as if it's not really pizza crust, but toast. It's edible if you're hungry, but no better than something (in my best voice over guy voice) "in your grocer's freezer." If you're homeless and someone offers you a half-eaten slice, it will suffice. As long as there are other options, opt for them.

ordered a large thin crust chicken/pineapple/pepperoni from these people. it came within the 45 min delivery time.it was kind of cold not hot. basically the pizza dough was not fully cooked considering it was thin crust.the chicken pieces were huge and fake looking.pepperoni was good and the pineapple was runny like a childs nose.im not impressed with this pizza but i'll give them another try and another pie..

Cook uses no gloves while prepping pizza. Saw him wipe nose and handle money and continue making pizzas with gloveless hands. Disgusting. Wish I witnessed this before I ate my slice

Originally from So. Fla/ Hollywood area I usually go to Capone's or Mauro's however we were staying on the beach and the girl that works at the hotel we stayed at recommended Pizza Rustica and they delivered. We fell asleep waiting for the pizza to get there and our friends who were also staying in the hotel in a room down the hall heard the pizza guy and went ahead and paid for the pizza in cash. I had given my card over the phone, the next day I checked and the card was charged as well as the delivery driver got the cash. To make matters worse two days later the full amount posted to my account and the delivery driver also gave himself a $7.00 tip on my card. Since the management staff is virtually non-existent I have had to work with my bank to get this resolved. To add insult to injury my friend's said it was the WORST pizza they have ever had. Will NEVER order from there again, shady operation!

Absolutely the WORST customer service. We order pizza and wait on hold for 5 mins, should have known it was going to be a bad experience from the beginning. They told us it would be an hour, okay fine since it's a Saturday night. Now it's been an hour and a half, so I call and tell me to hold again, another 5 mins. I ask to speak to the manger and the girl tells me he can't come to the phone. Hmmmm, you are a manager better make yourself available. The girl tells me since we are 2 miles out of the radius of the store it takes longer then an hour. Really? For 2 miles. I told her I want my money back or a discount and she said I would have to come in and get a discount for the next time I visit. Lmao!!!! Are you kidding! You will never receive my business ever again and I will tell everyone never to go there!!!!!!!!!!

Finally got service at this so-called Pizza Place and I kinda wish I didn't. Ordered 2 plain slices and 2 sodas, asked the cashier if I could have a wet rag to clean the outside table since they don't do it. She told me she'll be out in a few to do it so we went outside. Yeah, she never came out. Noticed another customer go back inside pissed because there was a hair in her pizza. After waiting for about 10 minutes I went back inside where my order was just sitting there. I don't even know why they cut both my slices in half, never asked for it. The cheese looked like plastic and was suspect. No crust and VERY crispy. After 2 bits that was officially the WORST pizza I've ever had. The sauce was bland and the cheese didn't taste right. Bagel Bits taste better!! My kid didn't want it at all. I took both slices to the cashier and informed her about that being the worst pizza ever. I was going to ask for my money back since paying $3.25 for crap is a rip off, but I wasn't in the mood anymore to argue. Besides, with the terrible service and horrible pizza they have the nerves to sell, they shouldn't be around much longer.

Omg hour and forty five minutes to make a delivery for two salads and a sandwich. Lied the whole time be there in two minutes. Food wasn't even worth it. Order from somewhere else!!!

I placed an order online. The order was accepted and I received a confirmation email that gave me a delivery time of 40 minutes. After an hour I called the store and they said they don't deliver to me. I asked why the order was accepted and why they didn't call me but they didn't really have an answer. They did apologize. I have eaten here once before. I did not like the pizza, but the nutella pizza was amazing. Had pizza recently that a friend ordered from this store and it was quite good. I guess I'm just saying, if you receive an order that you can't fulfill, at least call to notify the person. A little common courtesy goes a long way.

My slice had a roach on it! Needless to say I won't be back here again....VERY disappointing!

The pizza looks amazing through the window! There wasnt enough sauce on the pizza, and I'm not a huge sauce fan....but pizza needs sauce!! When I requested marinara it was served to me cold and when I ask to have it warmed up they acted as if I was disrespectful. The service is wishy washy everyone seems miserable to be there.

Dang lol I never expected this place would have such a low rating! Pizza Rustica on the beach is mehhh but all in all still pretty good pizza. One night in Hollywood while walking our dogs, my bff and I decided to eat here. We ordered a medium pizza with about 5 different toppings. Our waitress was nice and efficient; we love anyone who loves our dogs lol. She gave them water when she brought out our pizza. The wait was about 30 minutes but hey- its a freshly baked pizza. The Heat game was on and they have a huge flat screen right in the front window for guests seated outside. It was perfect! The pizza was sooooo good omg. The crust was garlicky and crispy but not burnt. We ate the whole medium pizza in about 15 minutes, next time we'll go for the large. We left here very happy. Oh yeah, its right next door to the place with $6 Patron shots! Perfect Tuesday night.

We have ordered from here several times but I have to write about them again tonight. We ordered a large whole wheat crust pizza, with spinach, goat cheese, sun dried tomatoes, and sweet Italian sausage. It arrived after 45 mins or so, and their people on the phones have always been a little "spotty" - but this particular pie was AMAZING. JUST WONDERFUL. The best pizza I've had since moving from Chicago!! I loved it! I highly recommend Pizza Rustica - and make a custom pie! The whole wheat crust made all the difference! Also, try the chocolate pizza for dessert! YUM!

This place gets a lot of bad reviews and I'm not sure why. I mean it's no way the best pizza I have ever had. But the size was decent for the price especially considering the number of toppings you get on a pie. Mine was hot, and the delivery guy was nice, and the pizza showed up when the website said it would so I'm good. I got the goat cheese and eggplant pizza. I had never had either on a pizza. The goat cheese not so sure about, but I love the eggplant. It was really tasty. I liked the roasted garlic and the plum tomato sauce. It was like my second time having a wheat crust pizza and it wasn't as crisp as I generally like it but it was a good folding crust with a decent taste. The only other pizza I have had was Groovy's in South Beach and it was good but I was also pretty ripped, so who knows what I would think sober. Its good for the price and the time, and I do love the eggplant, also I respect all the vegetarian options they have, there are a couple pies I'd like to try out in the future, so needless to say, I'll give it a second shot.

I can't think of a single redeeming quality about this place. The prices suck, the staff is inattentive, rude, and none of them want to be there, the place smells like urine, and the pizza is some of the worst pizza I've had in South Florida, point blank. I know it's a chain, but I'd rather go to a fast food joint, for a quarter the price. There are 20 other places to eat right next door to this place. Please, for your sanity, go anywhere else.

Meh....typical pizza. Dough was bland. The speciality pizzas looked appetizing but overall just a run of the mill pizza joint.

Pretty much ran into this place for a quick slice, but was very surprised by the variety and nice lady more then happy to assist me. I chose the traditional tomato, basil and cheese, and it was sooooooo yummy. Everything was melted and married very well, plus the crust was crispy on the bottom and edges yet fluffy in the middle.

If your choices are eating this pizza or hang yourself, get yourself some rope. The crust is garbage Krisko, the tomato sauce is flavorless if not borderline putrid and cheese is well nothing at best. It looks hundred times better than it tastes and it looks suspect to begin with. I have included a picture with instructions for the best way to extricate yourself from a position of having to eat there. If you do not heed this warning, may God have mercy on your soul.

I am sad to have to give this place only one star because of how much I first enjoyed their gluten free pizza at the Fort Lauderdale location. However this location is nothing but terrible. The first time I ordered from here they burned my pizza, so I had to wait a long time for them to make me a new one. The second time I ordered from there they told me it would be ready in 20 min. When I showed up 20 min later they told me they were out of some ingredients and asked me what other pizza I would rather have! Are you kidding me? Why wasn't I called back before I got there!? The girl at the counter said she forgot to call me and never once apologized. Then to make matters worse I had to put it in my oven when I got home because it wasn't fully cooked. Stay away from this place, it's not worth the stress.

When they first opened, years ago, I had a really bad experience here with absolutely atrocious customer service. However, I was ready for a late night slice after some beers and music at the Native Florida Tap Room and Rustica was the closest spot. The folks working there were very friendly, a nice surprise from the last experience! We opted for one of the HUGE square slices and a traditional triangular slice. The pizza could have been delivered a bit warmer, but hey, at least they brought it to the table with a smile, along with waters that we hand't even asked for! The square slice was really disappointing. It tasted like the dough had been frozen for way too long before being defrosted and rolled out. It was also strangely light and airy, not at all what I like in pizza crust. The triangle slice was AWESOME though - the crust was perfectly dense and the cheese was a thick and bubbly complement to the tangy sauce. Bathrooms were clean and the place was brightly lit!

The service can be a little hit-or-miss, but the pizza is terrific! Huge square pieces for just $5 and the you-pick-the-ingredients salads are nearly too big to finish by themselves. I usually dine-in or take-out so I don't know about delivery. They just remodeled their dining room. Bye-bye old, torn up booths, hello nice, new tables and chairs. The pizza choices are quite different and varied.

Don't do it. Don't pick-up, dine in, or deliver from this place - it sucks. After overhearing a conversation how Rustica competes with Mauro's, I thought I'd give it a shot. Me and my old man were hungry, so I called and asked the lady who picked up which was their tastiest meats selection. She told me the 'Supreme', so we ordered a large and waited like starving dogs. The pizza arrived in time, as was told over the phone. However, the pizza was disappointing - salty crust, sweet sauce, and what looked liked old cheese. I was so grossed out by the pizza, that I picked up the phone and ordered elsewhere. Again, don't do it.

For warming up pizza, their pizza is good, but if I want warmed up pizza I would just rather go to my fridge and eat some leftovers. I have never had fresh pizza from any Pizza Rustica. If they started making their pizza to order, I could only imagine how good the pizza would be, but till they that day i will leave it up to my imagination.

It's July, my last review for here was in May.....just want to say 'Keep it up guys! Still the best Gluten Free pizza around!' Prices are great and again as long as they make it well done as requested, it's GREAT!!! The ONLY PLACE for gf pizza! Thank you Pizza Rustica for offering gluten free crust and topping for those of us who can't eat gluten for true health reasons, it's very much appreciated and quite delicious!! ;) People may think I'm nuts for making such a big deal over a tiny, divey (dive meant in a great way!) pizza place, if you must be GF, you get it!

I'm picky but was impressed! If you want fresh ingredients, great mozza, soft crust (not soggy!), and the perfect amount of sauce then this is your place! We tend to be married to a style of pizza so if it isn't matching your idea of pizza then please approach this with an open mind, you'll most likely love it!! The staff was wonderful :)

The pizza is never quite warm enough. I've actually had to send pizza back for re-warming, and it still wasn't hot enough. They always have an interesting selection of pizzas, and any time I end up in Downtown Hollywood I inevitably end up here, because after midnight pizza always tastes better.

This actually was the place I was at on my profile picture. It was two weeks before Halloween and they had the place all decorated which was pretty cool. So it was my first time there because my friend invited me because he had a $20 credit because they charged him twice last time he was there. So we showed up on a Wednesday evening and the place was empty and it seemed like they had an employee meeting at the time. We sat and ordered with our pretty robot waitress. I say this because although pretty, the girl had no sense of humor and didn't even seem like she was generally a happy person. That being said our service could have been better but whatever. The pizza came out and it was pretty good and very hot. That was the one and only time I have been there but I wouldn't be apposed to going back.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
