Food poisoning!! I ate here yesterday. I had the Fishermans trio sampler, which had peel n eat shrimp, conch fritters, and calamari. The conch fritters tasted blah so I only ate one and a half. My fiance ate 4. This morning, we both woke up with classic food poisoning symptoms. I am a New Yorker who recently moved down to Fort Lauderdale. My fiance and I are on a mission to try to eat at every place we see to narrow down our faves. JOE'S TIKI BAR IS NOT A FAVORITE. We sat on the outside patio which overlooks a beautiful lake where people are fishing and enjoying water sports. But because of service and the food poisoning, I will not be going back.

The food is horrible no way around that fact. Drinks are pretty good. You will have to pay valet regardless if you park or they park for you. Overall I would skip this place for dinner and just come for drinks, however I can think of ten better nearby spots to grab a drink. Once again food is appalling. This was my 4 visit and no matter what I got food wise it was horrible. Pretty sure we are givin up on this place.

Worst dinner ever...the grilled mahi was greasy, the chicken quesadilla was cold and the chicken was chewy. The guacamole was...well I really don't know what that was besides gross. The waitress felt bad and tried to get us a discount on something but supposedly the manager wasn't there on a Friday night. The she offered us free dessert instead, we declined and got out of there ASAP never to return again! Too bad bc we're locals and the place looked pretty cool.

I'm moving back to this hood in a month & this place will be my local. Food is a 3. Although my Missus reckons the Sushi is excellent but I'm more of a salad & cheesesteak fella. Saying that, they always substitute fries for a wonderful salad for me. Staff a 5. Atmosphere a 7. Huge fish swimming beneath you as you eat.

I've been here a handful of times and liked it not so much for the food but just for the fact it was on the intercoastal. However, I made the mistake of recommending it to a client who was traveling to South Florida and staying at a hotel nearby. She got food poisoning and I regretted my recommendation. Never again.

Beautiful view and very good food. A very nice place to relax and watch the sunset.

Disappointingly terrible. Go to ocean alley on the boardwalk instead.. Me and a friend came here with high hopes for a good "last supper" of our trip. It didn't seem busy enough for how long everything took. We walked up to the hostess stand and a lady told us to sit anywhere. We did, but then it was15 minutes before anyone even brought menus. Oysters were good, poppers would have been too but they were cold. Paid $18.95 for 8 shrimp in shitty scampi sauce a small salad and a baked potato. Buddy got the Mahi platter with rice and fries. First try everything was cold... Waitress took 10 minutes to come back so we could tell her so. Then she took our plates back and had them reheat the food... Which apparently meant microwave everything and then re arrange it on the plate, and put a couple new limes in the bowl. Shrimp was mushy, Mahi was dry and tasteless. Even my baked potato was bad... However, french fries and water were great! Server was nice and seemed like she was really trying, but it was a horrible horrible experience that we each paid closed to $40 for.

We come here to watch the sunsets!! Food is good to.

We've been here 2 Sunday afternoons in a row. It's a little on the pricier end given the fact that a pina colada with a floater is $12. But they are so good that I came back a second time for it. I had the chicken tacos which were delicious! Im very sensitive to how much meat im served when I order a dish. This on point. I got the lunch portion of the chicken tacos. That is 2 tacos each with 2 very healthy and thick slices of chicken breast that were incredibly flavorful. They also have live music Sunday afternoons. Both times we went there was the same band playing, fronted by a very attractive and a very attractive woman. I think they smartly wanted to have Something for everyone. So if the nice view of the water doesnt do it for you, the band will.

For a 100$ lunch this is NOT the place to go!!! Only reason I gave it 1 star is Bc my meal was ok. The waitresses don't write down the orders so of course everything came out a mess!! The tea was discusting so after sending that back we received flat coke. I guess they really want u to buy the 10$ alcoholic drinks Bc that was the only way to go after that with water of course. Moral of the story if you want sub par food and "live" music (that is like finger nails running down a chalkboard this is def the place for you...

I have been to this place a few time but I believe Tues is Karaoke night and unless you want to have your ears fall off and slow service then do not go that night. It was a nightmare for us. If there were exceptional voices singing, it's ok but my kindergarten class sang better then this night. Also we sat and waited forever for food to come and for the waitress come give us our receipt so we can pay. We had to hand it in our self. But in other nights with their good staff group, you get excellent service. I forgot what her name was, as she gave great customer service, prompt and ask us what we need, is everything ok and gave us the attention we needed. Also they have sushi out back and I believe his name is Mark and he came by and explain to my in law whom were English and was afraid of sushi and thought it was only raw stuff but Mark went through a whole lesson of the differences and brought comfort back to them. I do love the sushi there as it's made with style and freshness, better then Publix. Also it can be a cute romantic place too as you are sitting right next to the inter coastal with big fishes swimming right next to you. You can also throw a little something in the water and see them jumping after it. Also the gorgeous sunset sky, it's breath taking. Better then having to over paid and crowded at the board walk. Just come here. The price isn't bad and they have some good selection of food and you are also next door to the water taxi too ;-) Come to this place for the lovely sunset dinner and cross fingers you have the right group of staff that day. My favourite sushi man unfortunately don't work Tuesday but I probably won't blame him as I'd like to keep my ears as well then lose it to Karaoke night.

Don't do it. My drink had no carbonation, the salsa was out of a jar and we were too scared to order off the menu for fear of food poisoning. The view is nice and could be a good place if you just want to drink overpriced beer.

Location is great, live music is pretty good. Hamachi is old. Bus boy rude. Management drinking wine and didn't care. Unfortunate.

Not impressed. Yes, it's a thatched roof, open bar. But the street noise was loud, and the food was unimpressive. Actually... Not even good. Huge menu.... But the prices weren't great either. I paid 8 bucks for a very small rum and coke... Three sips and it was gone.

This is a typical tiki bar on the intracoastal in Hollywood Beach with standard beach-fare. We went to a catered event in the upper room (very cute space) for a friend. The waiters/ servers are friendly, but they didn't seem to know what they were doing; the party of 30 was way too much for 2 women to handle & some of the guests ended up "helping themselves" to water, cutlery, plates, etc. The tacos we had weren't that good leading me to beleive I should have stuck to my traditional fried food order for these types of places. (I heard the mahi fingers are great.) The have karaoke which is partly why the event was held there but it was pretty toned down while we were there mid-week (a bunch of kids or families singing stuff). I am sure it's more lively during the summer, & during the weekend. I think the service is also better downstairs.

    (3)
  • Stuart G.

Have not had the pleasure to eat there and will not since it is the only place in the Intracoastal that charges to Park..$3.. Do not want to support or start this trend!

  • Matt C.

Totally amazing atmosphere! There are huge Tarpon out back that are always hungry and showing off. The food is great, my favorite is the buffalo chicken wrap because they actually hand-bread their chicken! There is always some kind of fun live entertainment and Wednesday nights are SALSA NIGHT! There is a large area upstairs for private parties or special events. OH....did I mention they have Sushi??? Now there is a place to go with friends that has Sushi AND a full menu of seafood, steak, chicken so that everyone can find something they enjoy. Now that the weather is cooling down, I will be there much more often to enjoy the cool breezes.

Not impressed with the food and drinks. The frozen cocktails I would not recommend them. Do not order the frozen melon margarita; the worse drink I have ever had.

Absolutely worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. The food and drinks are 100% percent disgusting. I would NOT recommended this "restaurant" to my worst enemy. Totally ruined my day and wasted my money on crap. Extremely overpriced bar food.

I was here recently with some friends. This place knows how to serve up a great time! Seafood love. Beautiful spot for hanging out and pigging out. Couldn't have a better location so we stayed for drinks!

Was looking for a laid back place to go on the water with live music. Based on the recommendation of a friend i took date there last night which was a Saturday. Here are my honest thoughts: Food & Drinks- The food was surprisingly good. I had a steak with a side of veggies and a salad. We shared seaweed salad and edamame. My date had oysters she really enjoyed. The drinks were strong, good pouring! Entertainment- They had a really good band playing classic rock. I'm a music snob who likes all types of music and these guys were talented. Service- I've read some bad reviews but have to say our service was decent. Our server was nice and semi attentive. Didn't wait long for food or drinks. Appearance & Location- Divey looking little place but right on water which always relaxes me as love watching boats go by. The place is a tiki hut which is cool. Keep in mind this is not where you are going for high end dining to impress someone. My only complaint about the whole experience was that every table I went to sit at outside had dirty tablecloths with crumbs all over them. Had to wipe it off myself before the date got there. Tables inside didn't look dirty. Might just be one section someone forgot to clean Price- Two appetizers, 4 strong drinks and two dinners $120 total including tip. I would call that average to a slight bit above average. Crowd- Crowd was mixed in almost every way. Had locals and tourists. Some looked classy some looked cheesy. Couples, singles and families. Parking- $3 valet who were nice. Unfortunately I drive a classic car and looks like they cracked my gas tank somehow but accidents happen and that is not the restaurants fault. Overall I recommend Joe's! Above average food, good drinks, decent service, great tunes, great view in a laid back atmosphere.

Very good classic rock and blues music on the weekend!! But bar service is slow. I think you have to be a regular or they will ignore you (even after you've tip'd them, so WTF?) Open aired chickee hut; it's one of THE BEST views of the Intracoastal in So Florida. So if you're looking for a natural old-school Florida sunsets and not the crowded yacht & restaurant scene of Ft.Lauderdale, this spot overlooks a nature preserve. [Fun Fact: Fast n Furious 2's watertoys scene was filmed just a couple of blocks north of here.] Very casual, shorts & flip flops. Food is just OK but have a beer and relax. You'll have to if you're waiting for a refill

We came by on a Saturday evening to check out the band. No drink specials, so we got a bucket of beer and we tried a rum bucket (it was super sweet, did not taste like rum at all, I do not recommend this). We also ordered a burger with sweet potato fries. The fries did not taste like much, and the burger was good. Our friends had the fish dip and said it was the worst they have ever had. Service was pretty good. The music was OK. Overall, we will probably be back for the views and music, but will not get food again.

Joe's occupies an enviable location Intracoastal Waterway location with dockside tables offering magnificent as well as interesting views of the waterway and its activities. It also has a very nice interior bar and dining areas that offer good views of the stage and entertainment. It really is a tiki type of place and has that totally casual laid back relaxed atmosphere one might associate with Key West. This visit was my third. On the two prior occasions I came in by boat as Joe's has a rather good docking arrangement which on off season or weekdays general has docking space available. This time, however, I came by car and found the parking conditions boarding upon being nightmarish. For food, what comes out best is anything related to seafood or Asian oriented. I've had their shrimp pasta and their California rolls which were rather good. However, I found their chicken parm and steaks somewhat less than average. Unfortunately I don't think their bar tenders know what they are doing. The mixed drinks, particularly their margaritas are anything but impressive and if you don't hit their happy hours, which are only on weekdays from 11:00-7:00, you're going to be paying a rather hefty price for a drink made with bottom line out of the well cheap booze and crap ass commercial mixers; like with reasonable tip over $10/drink. The entertainment I've seen here is certainly nothing worthy of any particular note, but darn good. For views and atmosphere, a solid Four Stars winner, but for food, service, bang for the buck value, and when taking into consideration the horrors of parking, I can only go with an overall of Three Stars.

I went there with my husband and another couple for dinner on Saturday night. It was so HOT inside. We were all sweating. We asked if they could bring a fan. The guy we asked found a fan, but it was broken. Since we saw A/C vents in the ceiling, we asked if they could turn on the A/C. The guy asked the manager who said no. Clearly they know it gets hot because they have fans. If both of them are broken, go get new ones. 3 of us are from Florida and are used to the heat, but that was just miserable. We could not wait to get out of there. It ruined our evening. With our friends we normally talk, laugh and have a good time. We were rushing to finish our food so we could go somewhere with A/C. There was a large birthday party there so it started to get crowded. The more people that showed up, the hotter it got. I don't know whose genius idea it was to put the party long ways on the deck and block the breeze from coming through to the inside where we were, but someone should have thought before doing that. To make matters worse, the food was just ok...

  • Tatiana M.

The only thing I enjoyed about this place was the view. It sits on the water, so that was pretty relaxing. Other than that, it's overpriced and the food is not great at all. Service was alright... But I'd opt for another place if you ask me.

  • Phil E.

This place is a lot of fun and gorgeous setting coastal waterway. As some of the other reviews have mentioned it is loud. This is s great place to have some drinks and appetizers. however, we were there for a dinner and it was hard to hold a conversation. Our waiter was great, very friendly and helpful. Food was so-so. The pasta I had was very bland red-marinara. The lobster bisque was very spicy. Next time, we'll come for apps and drinks only.

NEVER GOING BACK. I'm a local and have been going to Joes about once a week for years. I can honestly say after my last visit it is the last straw. You may notice the other reviews with 1-2 starts saying the service sucks. After 15 years in the industry, I have NEVER been more disrespected in my life. I went with 5 friends, nothing crazy. When the checks came we split them, and I understand it was a bit confusing, but when Kristen, the Bar Manager slammed the checks back on the bar and said "next time, don't come back." I lost it. I don't care who you are, or how frustrated you are, You DO NOT say that to a customer. Let alone locals who visit on the regular. I appreciate Anna's attempt at recovering, she's a doll. However, as long as Kristen is employed at Joe's Tiki Bar. I will not return. And I will continue to tell my friends of the horrible experience I had. Be aware of the perception you have to the public.

  • Jim D.

It's a nice place to sit down relax right on the Intracoastal the drinks are kind of expensive if its not on a special and they're not that great but you pay for the view you pay for the live music and it's just a great place to meet people a word of caution parking is very limited because of the building of Margaritaville and if you do find parking it's $3 if you're at the bar or going outside it's four dollars an hour

    (3)
  • Diane S.

Well we left happy and satisfied again. The only reason I didn't give Joe's a five star rating the first visit is because we didn't eat. This time we did. We had the Philly Steak which came with fries. It was delicious and again our service was top notch. They also had a band again. It was off the hook good music. Can't wait to go back.

    (5)
  • Tiffany N.

The service was okay nothing special. I liked that we were able to pay for the valet through the check via tip ($3.00). I felt the prices were okay but slightly over average. The food was good until a small worm was found in my friends fish sandwich. The manger took a long time to come over just to take the one dish off the bill. She didn't even apologize and told use she didn't see anything on the plate. We won't be coming back. Proceed with caution. I recommend just drinks.

    (1)
  • Kristin B.

Not only was the service a bit weak, but the music was Terrible, the ahi tuna was super bland and my husband ended up violently ill from oysters served here. I almost had to take him to the ER. Not going back.

  • Raquel S.

I have to agree with the majority of the reviews, this place is awful! The only redeeming quality about this place is the location. The location is great and sitting and enjoying the ocean breeze is amazing. And that's where any good remarks end. No amount of soothing ocean breeze can make up for its mediocre to terrible food and abysmal service. I went with some family members who ordered lobster bisque, if you can call it that. It tasted more like tomato and basil soup. They finished their soups before we ever received our drink order. And don't even think about any re-fills, because those just didn't happen. Someone at the table ordered a "lemonade" but we think it was just water with lemon squeezed into it and a table spoon full of sugar. The sodas ordered were flat as well. We ordered onion rings to the table and they weren't horrible, but they had a fishy taste to it. My husband ordered an island skirt steak and specifically asked if anything came on top and for it to be medium well, when it came out it was lathered in pico de gallo and sent it back. My husband didn't receive his "new" plate until the rest of the table was done with their food. And the steak was well done. Everyone at the table ordered yellow rice or rice pilaf, but when the plates came out everyone was forced to eat white rice because they ran out of every other rice. The thing is, this would've be fine had they let us know beforehand or have us chose another side if we pleased. And to add insult to injury, the rice was cold. Oh and my brother in law asked for a grouper and got a red snapper instead. Our waitress never came to check up on us or give refills and when it came time to pay, the waitress was preoccupied flirting with a table with three men. I waved at her to get her attention, because it was late and my little nephews were asleep at the table, so we were trying to get out of there ASAP. She made eye contact with me twice while I waived at her, and she chose to ignore me instead and continue soaking in the attention from the men. I'm not against it, for the record, you hustle girl and do what you gotta do if that means a bigger tip for you, but not at the expense of my family and me. At this point, I was fed up and asked to speak with the manager. Since we were a party of 6, 19% gratuity was already included and we just didn't agree to give such a hefty gratuity with such horrible service. The manager was apologetic and removed the gratuity and credited us a partial plate. And instead of letting me speak to the manager, the waitress stood alongside him and argued everything I said which I felt was extremely unprofessional. To make matters worse, when we received the rectified check, another waitress brought out the check instead. Also, an act that I found very unprofessional. Run, don't walk away from this place. Don't waste your money on this place.

I have mixed feels about giving this place only 2 stars because the food is excellent. If it had not been for the food 0 stars would have been in order. I had the Ahi and my co-worker had the grouper. We also had a sushi appetizer. The server was very good and knowledgable about the menu. I must say though that this place is filthy. When we sat down the table cloth was gross. We asked that it be removed. It was removed and we were told that there were no more clean ones. On the way out I used the bathroom. If I had gone in there before dinner I would have promptly left. I was absolutely disgusting. I feel sorry for the chef. As I said the food was excellent. Not sure how he can work here.

Ok so in town for the Memorial Day weekend and went to Joe's last night (Sunday May 24). Had fun bar hopping along S Ocean and AMAZING dinners and drinks all night. Wanted to close out the night with a nice drink at Joe's and pulled in. The first thing we saw was that the Valet sign said "Valet $3" - ok no problem, but when the valet came up he said "$5 man" Ok no biggie...paid it and went in. Then we sat at the bar waiting for the bartender. Nothing. Waited about 10-15 minutes literally...nothing. Finally the manager came over and asked if we had been helped. We said no, he got a bartender immediately. Now...this would not have been a big deal but there were like 5 bartenders all tending at one end of bar. Looked like a lot of locals were more important than us. Got two margaritas which were not great..and that was the last we saw of the bartender...ridiculously bad service. Disappointed, asked for check. Then took a while to get that. Would not go back again...there are plenty of other places on S Ocean with much better service.

Stopped by for a quick drink and some food. Ended up staying all night listening to incredible live music. The food was amazing and the service was on point. I would strongly recommend this bar to anyone visiting the area. Had an incredible night. Thank you to the owner and staff.

First time I went, service was good, there wasn't anyone there really but the waiters were really friendly. We ordered the oysters, the presentation was not very good. The ice they used wasn't the correct ice so the oysters were drenched in water by the time it got to the table. The rest of the food like Conch fritters and platanitos with shrimp were really good. However the next day I took my friend for his birthday and I thought heck let me surprise him since it is a nice place to hang out at. Well the host was all over the place, he finally Got us seated, said a comment that was a bit embarrassing. We sit, we wait, and we wait. No one ever came to our table not even to greet us. My friend and I are hungry at this point so we get up and leave and the host just says thanks for coming. It wasn't even that crazy for the bad service. We ended up going to the taco spot and had great service. Sorry tiki you didn't win me over this time. :-/

Not a bad spot. Happy hour 4 till 7. The also have Sushi and a good menu. The dock would be awesome if I had a boat. The only thing I did not like is the FAT TUESDAY sign saying frozen drinks, it led me to believe that they had frozen drink specials. It's also dead, but I like the country music. That gave them an extra star.

Those of you who follow our Top Chef team through our 2015 Florida journey know we hate and always try and avoid negative reviews. With that being said, heres the scoop on Joe's Tiki Bar in Hollywood Florida. We came here to address the amount of negative reviews. Most of the negativity relates to prices. Here are the things we noticed most. California Roll priced at $8.95 12 raw oysters $18.95 off season, ceviche $18.95, bottle domestic $3.99 on menu the tax on top so $4.29. Bucket makes it cheaper though.... The complaints are very legit. Im not surprised, but remember many owners of these places frankly don't care and are well off. If prices bother you, don't go there. Paying the Prices is a choice.. Now aside from that lets talk about the good. The atmosphere is incredible, right on the inlet watetway, seagals singing add to the majestic experience. Our bartender Kristen spreads happiness! smiles, sass & spark. The Sushi Chef is real. This is not a youtube trained cook staff here. They are serious about food and care about your food quality comments. There is a itunes box. Always know what you want to hear may not play. Your on vacation, relax and have fun. All in All i would recommend this especially for couples. Im no Dr Phil but if you focus on that special someone and don't be a tightwad, you will absorb a very unique experience. See you all at our next stop.

Overpriced, cheap food on the water. I ordered the salsa and chips. The salsa was so-so, with a fruity flavor of some kind. I ordered lemonade. It was totally watered down and tasted mostly like water with lemon. For my entree, I got the chicken Parmesan and my husband ordered the Cajun chicken. My chicken was breaded and soaked in grease. His chicken was completely desiccated. All this with a tip was $70!!! Insane! Our server has slow to visit the table and we ended up staying much longer than we would have liked. We sat at a table next to the water. It was quite dirty. The view of the water way and boat access are all this restaurant have going for it.

    (1)
  • Sean B.

The staff was friendly and there's a great view of the water. We enjoyed watching the boats go by. The bartender does not know how to mix drinks. I ordered a Juicy Mojito which tasted like cough syrup. Requested a regular Mojito and it was watered down barely had any alcohol in it. Way over-priced! Mojito was $10.00. My fiance ordered the grouper sandwich with fries and coleslaw. The coleslaw had too much thin mayonnaise. The coleslaw had to be drained. My son ordered a chicken quesadilla and it was ok. The steak fajitas I ordered were over cooked and the meat was tough. Total cost was $78.00 before tip. Not worth it!

This place was recommended to us from the captain of the drift boat we went on. They have a full menu, but you can bring your own fresh caught fish. We had a bunch of filets and some sushi (all red snapper). They gave us three options for the filets and the sushi chef did a great job making a variety of rolls. The filets came with a choice of two sides which were all really good. The only reason we gave it three stars is that the filets were $13 with the two sides which is pricey considering we provided the fish. The server was very nice, but she was very confused by everything; bringing our own fish, cooking options, splitting checks, etc. The restaurant did have a nice view of the water though.

Run down, dirty, no air condition! This place looks like it's at least 25 years old and they haven't spent one dime on the place in 25 years! It could use a good power washing, some paint and some replacing! Complacent owner using this place for a piggy bank! I can't stand businesses who never put money back into the business but charge top dollar for alcohol! The food was actually good, but that's not enough to bring me back!

  • Alcania S.

Horrible place. Service was awful. Food sucked. It was overpriced. Waited over 10 minutes just to be told to sit ourselves anywhere then 10 minutes to get a menu. Food was not good, drinks were nasty and warm and everything was super expensive. The only thing good was the view.

    (1)
  • Mike H.

What a dump! Poor service! Had a meth head try to pick a fight with the patrons only to end up hitting a female server. Bar is sticky and dirty with plenty flies. Don't waste your time or money at this sh!t hole.

They need to fix the beer cooler. The Hollywood Wheat was good, but warm. But when I said something they took it off my bill. So they are honest. Revised review : As we were leaving they chased us down and told us that they forgot to charge us for one of our drinks. Where I had thought they had not charged me for the warm beer, in fact they did. Rather embarrassing, and even when I said something about it her only comment was "you drink it so you have to pay for it."

Place was ok. Empty by the time We got there sound 7pm. We only Had two beers and went to search for another place more nice. Plus menu was ridiculous with prices for appetizers for that price only we could go to a nicer and much fancier place and orther entrees or same appetizer for even half of price.

If you are looking for a relaxed night out for dinner by the water this is the place to go. They offer valet parking for $3.00 and that's fine with me because its hard to find parking, totally worth it. As mentioned by another reviewer their ambience "Cheesy Tiki Bar theme" sort of looks and feels like a dive place. They have live bands and karaoke on certain nights which I really enjoy. It seems like this place has a lot of regulars, plus a lot of tourists. They offer a really nice menu which includes pastas, sushi, burgers, seafood, etc. I normally only get their grilled grouper sandwich with a baked potato, plus some sushi. They have decent friendly service. The people here are quite interesting, great place to people watch.

Worst service ever, extremely poor management. Drink order was wrong then bartender ( who I found out later was owner) gave me an attitude about it and took forever to fix it. Then she was too busy socializing to cash us out, then gives me $15 in change all singles. I'm Telling everyone I know this place sucks.

The food was decent, and the service was ok. However, a few of the food items had to be sent back. The fish dip was extremely mayonnaisey, and the table was very sticky. The live music was more annoying than entertaining. We were also forced to valet park because of the limited parking, and it was not that busy. Worst of all, the check included a full tip. This defeats the purpose of a tip. All this for an overpriced meal. Go somewhere else.

I love this setting. Came with friends who have never been, totally embarrassed!!! We ordered drinks and appetizers. I order Ahi Tuna and got chips and spinach dip whereas the waitress argued with me about it being ahi tuna, I never received chips with my Tuna before and Spinach too . Then my over cooked tuna showed up. We ordered Peel And Eat Shrimp it came with no cocktail sauce she bought marinara sauce instead. The couple I brought with me loved the Saltine Crackers (thank you Nabisco) We wanted dinner but counted our losses at four drinks and appetizers at $100.00. If you go do not valet your car that's another story altogether. So sad for what I have enjoyed in the past. Thank god Nicks is across the street great food and prices a little better, still spent $130. That I was more than willing to spend at Joe's Joe this would have been a $200 plus ticket for you guys. You guys have a great place, let me know when you get your act together I may be back!!! UP TO YOU MY FRIEND!!!!

The service was good. But there was A hair in my food! Theu need to make sure that there workers are wearing proper hair Nets and doesn't have their hair out.

Good experience overall. $3 valet parking when you arrive, sat fast and waiter was very attentive. Outdoor seating overlooking water and boats going by. They have a lot more beer than what is listed on the menu, so ask for selection. Food was very good, no complaints. Live music as well. Would go back.

Went her for a friends party. Ordered a Jack & Coke & Vodka sprite. Don't mind paying 18.00 for both, problem is we got it in a Dixie Cup this size of my Pinkie. Seriously ??????? If we were lucky we got 3/4 oz of Liquor. Thought it was a Shot at first & the bartender misunderstood but nope it was a drink. We won't EVER be returning.

If I could rate Joe's on Dany (keyboard/music/karaoke), I'd give it 4 stars. He was great - entertaining, personable and just all around fun. However, double check your bill and be prepared to pay for valet - even if you park your own car.

Great place to watch the sunset and enjoy a good island drink. True Tiki bar experience! Had a Joes Islandrita which was pretty good ($10) and the oysters were ok ($10/half dozen). They had a live bad which was fantastic! Would definitely come back here again.

Friendly staff but I don't think there was any booze in my drink. The music was just slightly too loud. Our conch fritters were served with cocktail sauce? What really grossed me out was the kitchen staff tossing stuff to the birds which then of course created a bird swarm.

Awful awful awful. Had chowder for an app and it was clumpy seemingly expired..had steak fajitas.. My girlfriend had a lobster tail.. Everything was terrible including the vegetables. Would NOT recommend

We just go for drinks and to hear music. When Jimi Ruccolo is playing with his band, we try to stop by. There is always a breeze blowing through so even on the hottest nights it is comfortable. The service is slow. Bartenders are hard to find to get a drink. You can't be shy, you have to wave them down. Red Hook IPA on tap made me give it 4 stars.

Not only was the service horrible, but the food was scary. We ordered raw clams which were served on NO ICE and warm. They were obviously not raw and obviously not fully cooked. The "mojito" was rum, un-meddled mint, and white sugar poured into the bottom. Like, you would suck up the sugar crystals into your straw. The seaweed salad was padded with shredded lettuce for the bottom half. We complained to management and we did not even get an apology, nor a break on our bill (for items we didn't eat or drink due to their grossness). This is definitely a tourist trap. Don't order anything that has the possibility of giving you food poisoning.

Why all the hate?! I had a great time here on Saturday night! First of all, yes, you have to pay to valet and then retrieve your own car... but it's $3!!! Good luck finding a spot in the public lot across the street, and even if you do, the meter costs more! I loved the location right on the water! I loved the cheesy Tiki theme! I loved the questionable yet friendly patrons (only thing not questionable was the amount of damage their livers have sustained!). The live music was AWESOME; the only complaint about the music was that someone loaded up the jukebox with Marc Anthony so we had to suffer through that in between sets. The food was good... I had peel and eat shrimp and also some sushi. I know, sushi at a place called Joe's Tiki Bar - I deserve hepatitis or at least food poisoning for that, but the sushi was good! Fish was fresh, no complaints there. A woman in our group also had the coconut shrimp and I sampled... they were awesome! The service was a little on the slow side, but it was Saturday night, who cares?

They have valet parking. The food was great and his place gets packed on the weekends. There is also a live band.

Gross! The waitress dumped the shrimp shells in the water along with food that was on the plate.

Bad food, dirty tablecloth, forgot ingredients in dish (ie we ordered chicken pasta and they forgot the chicken). Overall terrible.

This place is alright. My girlfriend and I went because we were starving and it was the only place we found. I agree with the other reviewers that the place was a bit pricey. Everything, no matter what it was was $19.95. But, you are paying for the view and ambiance and that's basically the bottom line. You are sitting with a view of the ocean and there are seagulls and pelicans right next to you. They even walk by your table which is a bit scary but nice and different. Also, the chef and servers feed them and give you a little show. I ordered the fajitas (steak) and my girl friend had the island steak (skirt steak). The meat was a bit bland but if you added some salt it was good to go. One huge thing.. DO NOT ORDER THE LOBSTER BISQUE. Gross, I'm sorry but there is no other way to describe that disgusting soup. It was spicy, tasted like mango and clumpy to the point of mystery soup. Anyway, overall it was a decent experience. We went on a Saturday afternoon, no happy hour specials or drink specials, valet was $3.00 and when we asked the waiter for change he said he didn't have any. Oh and they didn't bring me a plate to organize my fajitas. Now that I am reading this review I guess it wasn't such a great experience. I would say go check it out but maybe just hang out at the bar.

Really didn't want to do this because I like the outside seating so much but no view of the water is worth the food poisoning. That's right. Don't be fooled by the delicious shrimp enchiladas because the night before my cruise to the Virgin Islands was one that made my body feel like a science experiment. Not sexy. Our waiter was a dick. Long story short, my friend is a blonde with, well, pretty enormous breasts which I understand is a novelty for any guy at a bar. But the waiter decided to dub her the "pretty blonde" and me the "quiet one" for no reason whatsoever considering we were all laughing and having a great time. So, good job Joe's Tiki Bar for hiring a cliché of a stupid man who has not the slightest clue how to speak to women. Bravo.

Decent food and setting. Lame happy hour though. Only generic well drinks on special. No discount on beer or cocktails. Tip for management: if you have a good happy hour, people will come, eat, and spend money.

Great waterside seating Very casual and relaxed atmosphere Had a fun waiter that gave us a new way to drink corona with salt on a glass rim The food: Calamari was very good Mahi mahi sandwich was decent, as were the fries it came with Shrimp quesadilla was my favorite thing on the menu, but sadly my gf's shrimp quesadilla gave her food poisoning (only thing she ate that day) The cocktails all tasted funky, but were strong and did the job B/w my gf's food poisoning and the average food at a pretty high price, will not be visiting again

Overpriced. Food ok but drinks are ten dollars and totally non effective. I could have bought a decent bottle of liqueur for ten bucks and at least get a buzz. Crazy prices.

Food is good. I love the sushi rolls and salmon is pretty good. The bartenders can't make drinks and the specials aren't worth it. The best part is sitting by the water.

WOW! Where do I start. We just left there. Sat along the Intercontinental, View good, Table was sticky (so was the floor). Wet my napkin to try to wipe off the table but it didn't help, The table has a permanent stickiness to it . I ordered a burger, wife ordered Mahi sandwich. Both sandwiches OK but fries cold. I would have told my waiter BUT he didn't return until he asked us if we wanted the check. I was able to watch the wait staff wrap the silverware in napkins to prep for new service. They had a unique way of wrapping the silverware. They would wipe the knife and fork on the napkin to clean the off then wrap the two pieces of silverware in that same napkin. Hmmmmm..... Would I go back? No.

Stopped by here by boat with a group of friends. Had never been here before but thought it looked like a fun place on the water to get some lunch. We were starving but (luckily) only ordered an appetizer to start. We got the spinach dip and immediately regretted it. It looked old and was brown with chunks of some sort of cheese randomly tossed on top of it. After the bravest of the group gave it a try, we discovered that it was also not only not hot/warm, but cold. We told our server and they quickly replaced it, apparently solving the issue by microwaving it briefly. Needless to say we left our food untouched and went down the intracoastal to Capone's (awesome food). This place seemed like a cool spot, and probably is just to drink, but would never order food there again. And apparently they serve sushi...I dread to think of what that looks like.

I came with my family a group of 14. The first sign of our dinner being poor was the soda. It came hot and flat. That should've been a clue of what was to come... The food took over an hour and a half to be served. They brought the wrong sides for multiple plates. A whole fried fish came with what looked like white mold on it. We sent that back another fish which was a grilled grouper. It was inedible. The yellow rice that came with a few plates tasted like feet... The only thing going for the place is the bay view and live singing. So if anything for drinks but certainly not for the food. The quality was very poor.

  • Neil M.

Seriously. The worst service imaginable. They can't even keep track of the bill. Great loacation! Horrible staff! We gave up on ordering food long ago. The only reason we go back is because our friends' band plays there. That is likely not enough now.

  • Daniel S.

Eh... service was crappy and prices were outrageous. Definitely a tourist trap, will never go back.

  • Santiago P.

Very nice location and the food (fajitas and quesadillas) and service were ok. But I'm never going back there. First of all the prices are high. I understand you're paying for a beautiful view, but come on. The main problem is the local band playing unbelievably loud music. If you like talking to the people you're having dinner with, then avoid Joe's Tiki. Not only are the songs loud, they're unknown songs. So basically you're stuck there listening to loud noise. Stay away.

  • Paula B.

Really really disappointed. We used to frequent here when it wal Los Palmas and loved it. Even in our euphoria for being back in the neighborhood where we were young and crazy 10 years ago we couldn't miss how outrageous the prices were. The girls at the bar tried, but told us they would "go to hell" if they asked for our nachos to have tomato and garlic. So the chips and salsa out of a bag took a half an hour. 1hr later our food wasn't out so we asked to tab out and leave. No fight that this was an unusual request or apology. Saved $100 by leaving for not getting 19$ ceviche, 20$ fajitas and 14$ cheesburger.

I had very little hope for this place as I walked up to it. There was a gentleman singing with a drum loop as his back up. Hey, nothing wrong with the loop! Anyway, I was seated along the water which was nice. I ordered wings and a strawberry mojito. The drink was eh, it tasted pretty syrupy. The wings on the other hand were a very pleasant surprise! They were good to a golden fried goodness (with only one out of the bunch being completed pulverized in the vat o grease...not bad). I don't know that I would be tripping over myself to get back to this place, but it wasn't a bad experience. So that is a plus.

I've been here a few times from karaoke night to just plain live music night (a lost art around here these days) always have fun, some of the crowd is a little questionable sometimes but all in all good people. There is this man that comes out with a girl that plays on Sundays "the infusion band" and he looks like he's gonna come out with some raggae beautiful island music and bam it's a prince song and his voice could shatter glass. Great band though, it's just like watching a cat bark at first. NEXT... I'm gonna take a few deep breaths here and say this as nicely as I can. If I pull in, park my own truck.. You come up to me ask me for $3 for valet then as I leave just hand me my keys back so I can get my own truck you will be looked at like a total asshole every single time! Parking should be free. Other than that... good wings, seafood, and service inside with always something to look at whether it be the beautiful water, big tarpon, boats that go by, or the guy or girl that should have left 4 beers 2 Xanax and 6 shots ago. Don't take it too seriously, enjoy your time here!

It is very expensive and they were out of Sushi (all sushi) and no draft beer!!! What?? How can you claim to be a sushi restaurant and not have sushi??? We got a chicken quesadilla and it cost $14! It was bland to say the least. Don't waste your money going here.

    (1)
  • Dennis S.

5 Stars for the view.... All else 1 Star. The food is not good and very expensive. $18.95 for Ceviche , a small bowl (more like a large cup) with a handful of store bought cold nacho chips. I would expect to pay around $9.00 anywhere else. My wife had a salmon filet, less than a 1/4" thick, so well done that it looked, tasted and cut like a piece of beef jerky.Very slow service and this has to be the only place that you pay for "Do-It-Yourself Valet Parking" ....Also, I hate places that ADD the tip without telling you...I'm not done... I'm a big supporter of live music... the singer / guitarist , well, every song sounded the same and I don't know why they show Sushi in their ad, The Sushi bar was closed.

Where do I begin? There were like four people there yet there were 5 additional tables full of smelly discarded food I gagged four times. I still preceded to sit (I don't know y) the waitress ms. Rude started washing our table with a dirty, smelly rag again I gagged... I couldn't even believe it she didn't say a word by the way...I had decided there was no way in hell I would EAT at this dirty place but we braved traffic and PAID for valet so my family wanted a flipping drink. Finally someone waltzed by and said I'll be right with u AND NEVER ever came back......ummm so finally after watching an 8 yr old boy be a food runner to sizzling hot fajitas amongst other things we had enough we stormed out and the waitress just glared at us no I'm sorry for the smell, the wait the rudeness if only I wasn't a mature adult I would've like to say and do so many things.... Never again stay away margaritaville is opening in a year or so just wait for that

absolutely horrible experience. valet was completely rude when we pulled up. would let me park, but let the car behind me park. service at the table was just as good. ordered magi, got salmon. had to go find ketchup and other condiments for our other meals. at the end of the meal, had to wait a long time for our car, then walk next door to where he parked it. will NEVER go back to this place. HORRIBLE!!!!!!

We went to Joes to have a drink while waiting for the water taxi and thought it looked like a fun place to go. So the next day we went for dinner and drinks. It was great! The service was excellent and the food was great. They had live music so we danced while waiting for our food. We wish we were in town longer so we could get there again. We definitely will next trip to Hollywood beach! Darryl

Funky Key West style waterfront seafood joint. Great place to have some peel and eat shrimp, a fish sandwich and a couple of beers while listening to a guy play guitar and watching the boats pass by. Friendly service and easy parking right in front.

  • Allison W.

Total tourist trap. First, the parking--I parked my own car, had to pay the valet #$3 (and I tipped him $1--my own stupid fault) and was "allowed" (his words) to keep my keys. Ridiculous. Our waitress was new but didn't have a clue about the menu. Her description of the dishes was way off. In addition, we asked three times for the buffalo shrimp to be served as an appetizer for the table; however, it came out with everything else. Shrimp cocktail for $18.95 consisted of five shrimp served room temperature. Chicken sandwich was dry, bread was horrible. Ate less than half of it. Total for two sandwiches. an order of buffalo shrimp, one shrimp cocktail and three drinks was $88 before tip. Total rip-off. There are plenty of places on the intracoastal that have the same great view but with good service and amazing food. Patronize one of these deserving businesses instead.

I've been going to Joe's Tiki Bar for a couple of years now....Great Atmosphere, Live Entertainment every day. Friendly Staff, great food and drink specials.....Stunning sunset views! Great place to hang out! Never had any bad experience with their food, drinks or service. I've brought a lot of friends and they are in love with the place and are very pleased with everything.... We are there every week! It is so much FUN !!! Joe, Paola, Joyce, Missi, Sushi Mark and the rest of the staff are absolutely friendly! We definitely recommend this place !

There is sometimes a fine line between great and good when it comes to restaurants. Unfortunately this one falls in the Bad category. If you choose to eat here, please order something thAt has to be deep fried or that won't give u food poisoning. It's such a waste of a beautiful location. The soda is really flat so don't order a mixed drink, beer from a bottle is ur best bet. The chips were pretty good but the salsa was definitely made in NY City. :)

  • Kate S.

My husband and I had a great night at Joe's Tiki Bar. It is not a five-star restaurant. It is not a date-night destination with ambiance. It is a tiki-dive bar with real people and karaoke. Our chicken fajitas were delicious. Seriously good. The chicken wings were blah and lacked any spice. The drinks were ok, bottled beer was cold. Our waiter was phenomenal. The entertainment made the night - truly fabulous. Lots of locals. It's not fancy, and it's not the Sheraton. BUT - we had a good meal and enjoyed our evening on the intercoastal. We will be back! Thanks, Joe's!

Perfect little spot for a nice casual date. I love live music and outdoor bars, this place has both. There are tables right on the water where you can watch the tarpon pass in the early evening, and if you're coming from the bay side, you can park your boat right on the dock and hop on into the restaurant. When I went, there was a woman singing along to song pretty awesome karaoke tracks. There's $3 valet, and Carlos will personally keep an eye on your car to make sure it's safe. Nice location, friendlt staff, and good sushi. I vote yes.

Never again!!! My hubby and I decided on this place because it looked like a cool place to get drinks on the water. I ordered a frozen run runner, which tasted like a slurpee - and not a good slurpee - I couldn't even drink it. My husbands margarita also had a funky taste. The food was ok - just ok. I had a burger which was pretty dry. He had the wings, which weren't that great either. Aside from the crappy drinks and mediocre food, I walked into the woman's bathroom and I almost threw up. A woman had had her monthly friend all over the toilet and no one cleaned it. I wanted to die. Ew! Never again!
