The best pizza in town! I adore the nice thick pizza and Polo Norte is my place to go when I need some good pizza in a bad mood! The Biste Uruguago is also something great to try on the menu. The ice cream is also to die for. 100% recommend Polo Norte!

Their Cuban pizzas and ice creams are to die for! Must try! I really always go for a small caeser salad and a personal cheese pizza cause why deviate from something so amazing to try something new?! Their Cuban styled pizza are thick, but they taste better thank any thick styled pizza from other popular pizza chains. They have these shakes called "malteadas" which I have to get every time I go! They are extremely sweet and if you love over the top sugary drinks like I do then this one is for you! Aside from pizza they have rice, beans, and different types and styles of meats, chicken, and sandwiches. They are definitely a place to try with a lot of variety of Cuban style dishes!

This is probably the best known casual Cuban pizzeria in Miami, for its quality rather than for the hours (El Rey took that title). Polo Norte is a favorite among the Cubans in Miami, for their Cuban pizzas and for the ice ceam shop that this place really is. You can even order a "suero" f(an ice cream shake), the old fashioned way with syrup, whipped cream, sprinkles and a cherry on top. Plus, for ice cream, it's a pretty good deal since each scoop is approximately $1.50, and three scoops will have you forking over less than $4. And on top of that... they have 32 flavors of ice cream to offer. And if you have kids, there's a kid's menu as well. This is a very kid-friendly establishment, price-wise as well. Service was top-notch, so your kids won't have much to complain about in regards to the "waiting" if you catch my drift. ;-) And this is what I've had to explain about Cuban pizza in another review: Cuban pizza is just pizza. But if you're looking for the best - then put away all preconceived notions of what pizza is (like you did with Pizza Rustica, you know it)! It's not New York style. Not Chicago, Sicilian, Napolitan, or even Roman. It's Cuban, and just that. You're going to have a hard time finding it outside of Miami, this may as well be one of the featured food of Miami's unique local scene. So, let's get to the nitty gritty with the question that almost virtually everyone asks: "What is Cuban pizza?" It is thick and soft, like focaccia, but with a different dough. Pizza Rustica? No, because it is softer than that. Sauce? The one I had had little sauce, and I like it that way. It was made up for with the plenty toppings that my pizza had. Tons of cheese (and the cheese even tastes Cuban!). And the toppings can get interesting - chorizo (spanish sausage), platanos maduros (plantains), and so forth. I had the cheese with onions and it was yummy. MINIMUM CREDIT CHARGE: $10 REVISITED: Stay away from the mushy pasta - Cubans generally like their pasta like this. The cheese soup was okay, but that's after I added the pepper and salt. Also avoid the overly sweet rum cake - it's nothing like the better ones I've had in Miami. You can come for the ice cream - generally it's good, affordable, and is done with a colorful decoration - and there's interesting flavors such as the Guava. I didn't like the Mamey sherbet - I found it lacking flavor. The other ice cream flavors they have are: Strawberry, Coconut, Coconut Almond, Mango, Pineapple-Orange, Pinapple, Pistachio, Tutti Frutti, Raisin Rum, Almond, Malta, Caramel, Coffee, Dulce de Leche, Mantecados (crumble cakes), Chocolate, Chocolate Chip, Chocolate Almond, Chocolate Brownie, Menta Chip, Vanilla, Vanilla Chip, Vanilla Fudge, and Cookies N Cream.

Jordan did a great review. I love their pizza and ice cream. The reasons why I don't give them a 5 are because the servers (mainly woman) are very rude and I don't really like the atmosphere in there. Their spaguetti is not that great because the pasta is overcooked.

a cuban pizzeria that expanded its menu offerings to include traditional cuban food and opened two other locations. less traditional than versailles, more popular among recent immigrants. love the churrasco.

This place has the best Cuban pizza in Miami; not just pizza, but also ice cream and awesome traditional Cuban food. I no longer live in Miami and every time I visit, this is the first restaurant I want to go to.

The worse counter servers and waitresses they have.. I deal with this location whenever I'm at my aunt's house, but by my house on Miami Garden's Dr they have NEVER failed me. I just ordered from them for 5 people, my order a simple pan con bistec with cebolla & papitas only (steak sandwich with onions and little fries) and they bring it to me with all extras that I refuse to eat or try to remove it. We call Polo Norte and they said they would send someone with a new sandwich, which was fine because they are only about 10 min's away. Well, it was taking longer, and when we called again they said they were'nt going to send just this order without any other order and that the cook said he did it right. I went there personally, asked for the manager, yet everyone there already knew about my situation because they were talking about it but the manager didn't know anything, then I asked for my $$$ and gave them their sandwich back. They sent it to the cook to look at it so he can see he did it wrong. I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THESE RUDE A$$ CUBANS AGAIN! The one in Miami Gardens is more respectful and take their customer service seriously to keep their customers coming back.

I was excited to try the pizza here after reading the reviews on yelp and also being recommended by a friend to go. Unfortunately, I was let down. Basically, I wouldn't go back again, not because it was horrible, because it wasn't , it was just not great, and for me to eat and enjoy my pizza it has to be well worth those calories. I also got to try the Cuban food, which was pretty good, but with so many options in that category, I wouldnt drive out of my way to go eat the Cuban food either. I will say however that the service was really good, and I didn't try the ice cream or the milk shakes which looked delicious.

As a kid the Polo Norte on 29th street was all that and a bag of chips! Just the name stirs up the most beautiful nostalgia of the early and mid 90s. I learned a while back that this location and the 29th street location are no longer owned by the same person, in fact, I believe the original owner sold long, long, long ago. Nevertheless, incompetent and rude employees suck the life out of a business no matter who the owner is. This location is just plain horrible. I have ordered countless times and they have mixed up orders, forgotten things, and their nasty and disgusting attitude repels me. This past weekend I went for ice cream with a date. The place is jam packed all the time, why? Because crap attracts flies... It's no secret in Miami that the people here suck in the attitude department. I don't know if it's because these people aren't originally from the states and thus lack good customer service skills. They have zero hospitality skills, period, and it's not just Polo Norte it's a Miami issue --- but still! Coño I don't want to be treated like sh*t if I'm trying to patronize your business. They lost me as a customer forever. If you're a tourist looking for Cuban food or want to try something different go to el palacio de Los jugos on 49 street and like 12 Ave. De Nada. And I gave them two stars cause the ice cream wasn't bad. I try to look for a positive in bad places sometimes.

I've only ever come here for ice cream. This time around, I wanted to give the food a shot. After looking at the menu and reading reviews that the pizza was the go-to item, I ordered the chorizo and onion pizza. When the pizza arrived, I was expecting the toppings to be on top not inside the pizza. You know...like a Domino's or Papa John's pizza where the toppings are only on top. But nope, the toppings were baked in. That's a good thing, right? Yes! The thickness of the pizza was good. Then I had a scoop of coco almendrado (coconut almond) ice cream which was DELISH and only $1.85. Service was meh. The waitress wasn't very personable and forgot to bring us a Jupiña that we ordered. All in all, the 3 stars really are for the ice cream.

I love this place. The food is spectacular delicious. The churrasco is the best!!! Congri as well. And for dessert a yummy tres gracias ice cream . Don't go on weekends because it gets crowded and you have to wait outside like 30 mins.

Dear West Hialeah Polo Norte, you have some 'splainin to do! Polo Norte needs a little bit of work to get to 5 stars. I'm calling it just over 3 stars - 3.2, 3.3 - and hoping to update them later. Although they're famous for their Cuban style pizzas - and some of the ones I saw on the menu looked interesting - I ordered a Chicken cordon bleu ("Pechuga Rellena"). I won't complain about the portion size or taste. It was big enough to get my fill yet reasonable that I could finish it in one sitting. Looking almost like a corn dog, the lightly breaded chicken breast was lean on the inside and stuffed with pieces of ham, bacon, tomato pieces and cantinpalo chorizo. I'm guessing they were plum tomato instead of some canned sauce, as I could taste the tartness of them. The flavor combination was indeed delicious! The moros (black beans and rice) weren't overly greasy, and sprinkling the piece of lemon gave the taste a nice highlight. As far as sides, the mariquitas were plentiful, crispy and not greasy. I'm not a fan of the creamy mustard based dipping sauce, so I ate them clean. The cortadito at the end of my dinner hit the spot, and was potent enough to keep me up until almost 4AM. As I mentioned, there are some loose ends where Polo Norte needs some improvement: though tasty, the sweet plantains did look a little bit on the burnt side. However, they did taste normal. The crust of the creme brulee wasn't crispy and collapsed with my spoon barely digging in. Also, although I asked for coke, I got Sprite both of the times.

Polo Norte is one of my favorite places. I love their pizza, their spaghetti and their ice cream. The service sucks and the size of the restaurant is very small, I recommend to order delivery or takeout.

I'm so blase about this place, it's taken me a few trips and countless times of sitting in front the computer to finally get to reviewing it. I went for the pizza because that's what the kids go there for, even though I've heard that their other dishes are better. Anyhoo, since I feel... well nothing, really, for this place, I'll just get this over with. DO's: - personal sized pizzas (good size, good ratio of ingredients) - sausage pizza (better than my hubby's beef pizza) DONT's: -mariquitas (they were average - skimped on the garlic sauce which is the main reason you eat mariquitas) - family sized pizzas (even the sausage one) - garlic bread (dry, bland, stiff, not worth it) For some reason the large pizzas are noticeably less tasty than the personal ones. They have way too much bread. And I'm like a carbohydrate 711 - I'm always open for them! But in this case, because the bread doesn't even have a taste or any personality (if that's even possible), I'm closed for business!
