My mom showed me this place and now I am hooked. Great service , amazing food, very fresh. A hidden gem in Hialeah.

My experience was awful. I went there because I saw a seafood soup on the menu. They did not have it. There was only one girl attending the counter, taking phone orders, attending the restaurant side where there was only one table and they had to beg for service. This one girl was also making salads and expresso. Mine was a take out order. I had to repeat myself a few times and when I got to the office the steak was the color of my shoe sole. They lacked experience and professionalism. I think the reason the steak was black was because the cook came out to socialize with an acquaintance. Good bye. Never again.

So, long story short; whenever a new restaurant opens in Hialeah, chances are, it's Cuban. Quite frankly? I'm sick of it because just because they are Cuban doesn't mean they know how to make an amazing Cuban Dish. Unfortunately, that "ain't" always the case. So, now we get to my visits to this restaurant. It has only been open for two months. I drive by here every single day. Honestly? My first thought was, "oh great, another Cuban Restaurant in my hood." I'm first generation American of Cuban Parents and all but, I'm done with some of these restaurants. Me and my family being avid cooks of this type of food makes me even more critical when reviewing these restaurants in Hialeah on Yelp. Any other type of restaurant, maybe I'm writing out of my derriere. When it comes to Cuban Cuisine, I do know what I'm talking about. Anyways, I'm looking for something that makes a Cuban Restaurant different from the myriad of others in Hialeah. Low and behold, I open-up their menu, and the first thing I notice is all the different Flags of Latin America next to some of their dishes. Sure, you will find this at some of the larger already established chains. But, at a local family owned restaurant? Nice touch for an ever changing city. See, contrary to popular belief, we're not all Cuban here in Hialeah. Believe it or not, I even saw an American Flag on their menu. Again, they have only been open two months. They have "ALOT" work to do. For example, on my first visit, they had already run out of Moros and, other items, by 3:00 p.m.. The owner coming to my table to explain to me why they had run out is where they got a well deserved fourth star. Basically, they don't want to cook too much food and then have to throw it out. The entire business is family owned and operated. This entire first visit made them stand-out in more ways than just one. Now we get to the food. As per said conversation with the owner and staff, their food is homemade using the freshest ingredients. You can tell just by smelling the food when in front of you. Everything I've had was wonderful but, this is what has stood-out. So far I've had: * Moros - As soon as I finish this review, this restaurant will be added to my list of best places to have Moros in Hialeah. Most restaurants have a tendency to make it with too much salt and/or too much black dye. It's supposed to be dark when made but not "Sally Struthers' children dark and salty." Mother was with me when this was placed in front of me. First thing I said, "¿Tú estás oliendo esto?" (are you smelling that) * Pargo al Ajillo (Snapper in Garlic Sauce) - The BEST I have ever had anywhere. The story of when it came off the boat is another reason behind the fourth star. Only thing, I wish they would've spent more time with tweezers taking off the smaller bones. This is expected in fish. It's just, I'm not a fan of bones in my food. It was fresh and delicious, though. * Pan con Tortilla (Omelette sandwich) - A perfectly made omelette in between to slices of fresh Cuban Bread. You have to order this with all the accoutrements anywhere you go, otherwise, you're just eating eggs with bread. This was the perfect start to my morning and wasn't hungry for a while. * Crema Catalana - Also one of the BEST I've had in a while. * Platanos Maduros (Sweet Fried Plantains) - Perfectly sweet, fresh and fried. Many places tend to burn them to a crisp. When they aren't fresh, the already "riper" sides burn first. * Cuban Coffee - This is also being added to my list of best places in Hialeah. Things to note and blah, blah, blahs: * Language - One of the waitresses is fully bilingual, English/español. For the most part it's español here. * Menu - If you've read any of my other reviews, you know, I'm big on English being an intrical part of any restaurant menu in South Florida. Although I can speak three languages, not everyone does. Their menu not being bilingual is what will keep them from being issued the fifth star on Yelp. It's a shame because they have a great story on the back of their menu. * Parking - Unlike other shopping centers in Hialeah, parking is of plenty here. I remember this shopping plaza being built. Stand outside and look around. This whole street and everything around it was the Everglades until the 80s. * Saturdays - They have live entertainment and karaoke. Refer to the flyer I will be uploading on Yelp after this review. Unfortunately, it's only in español. * Delivery - check for range. *Español Desafortunadamente, Yelp no permite mucho espacio para escribir una reseña completa en español. Quedé bien contento con este restaurante. La comida es casera y fresca.

Some of the best restaurant referrals are by word of mouth, and such was the case here. My neighbor presented me with a copy of their take home menu saying " visit them you won't regret it". Notice I'm only giving them 4 stars because they are brand spanking new and still need to tweek some things otherwise I'd give them a full 5 stars. This nicely decorated and sparkling clean place is family run and it shows. From the moment we walked in we felt at home and welcomed. Prices are economical. The most expensive item is the Paella at $17 dollars and worth every penny. Their churrascos were superb and seasoned to perfection. Their Congri is some of the best I've had. The Tostones were great and fresh not frozen; in fact really good. We arrived a bit late and they were out of most of their specials. The owners apologized and treated us to dessert and the expresso. Their Crema Catalana was great. The place has easy free parking as its in a strip mall. They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Did I mention BBQ? The famous Vicente BBQ is also here inside and you may buy all by the pound also. I was happy and fully satisfied so were others. Economical, great food and service you can't ask for more.
