Heads up Amelia and Carmen Catering has been sold to Richard LLc. Disgusting service !!!! I am a Wedding planner and i see everything from the back. Richard looks like a nice guy but in the moment of stress he leaves you hanging not caring about the event. My bride got married yesterday 12/06/14 and the tables chipped, linens with mold, napkins dirty smelly etc, knife and forks not all the same, glasses full of lipstick, bar a joke. I can continue doing a list of what things came out when organizing this event for my bride. I will never ever and hope that i dont come across this company again. it was disgusting, pitiful, dirty , if i can put all the pictures i have they will speak louder than what i am writing now. Sorry for the people that work for him because he will not put his face out there. Brides you dont see everything that happens as you are not part of the set up please be careful and beware, i promise that for saving 100$ you will regret it for the rest of your life. I can go on with my whole experience with this company but a refuse to continue getting upset of the disgusting service my clients got. People linens had mold!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Napkins Dirty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! horrible.

So very disappointed with this company. I don't want to go into extreme detail but I essentially was robbed from my money as food was swapped from what we tasted to what was actaully served, it was under cooked and appetizers and plaintains over cooked (burnt), catering showed up late to event, actually after guest started to arrive. They didn't bother contacting me to apologize for ALL the inconvinences and embarrassment they caused at my event. Also the fact they were late, the burnt appetizers were cold. They forgot to cut the cake as my guest had to remind them. Considering this was a baptism and a small event (60 people) it shoudl have gone with out a hitch. in addition, i had a relationship with this company, it's sad that they treat people they know like this, i can't imagine how they treat people that they don't know. It's not worth going with them to save money b/c the at the end you will pay the price. Def. not recommending or using them again.

We went with them because the price was right. The appetizers were excellent, I wish I'd have been able to have more of them. The food was bland. The chicken seemed artificial and the rice seemed burned or like it was from a day or two ago. Again, you get what you pay for. My only real complaint is that the catering staff was smoking grass before the wedding (my husband, the officiant, and my wedding party who were there to set up all made comments about the smell) and they weren't even bothering to serve the cake when it was time. I went to the kitchen with my husband to see what was going on and literally found them all sitting down doing nothing until I mentioned the cake, then they went ahead and cut it. I wouldn't recommend these caterers unless you're broke (like we were) and need a caterer badly. Don't get me wrong, Richard was flexible, but the service and quality during the wedding (the most important part) was embarrassing. I should have listened to a florist I visited that URGED me to go with anyone else.

We choose them after being on parties catered by them and friends references and we were very pleased with the tasting and Richard attentive attitude. What a disappointment! The day of the wedding they served three appetizers instead of the four that were in the contract, but they were good. Then dinner; chicken was disgusting even to look at it, rice was hard and the pork was tasteless. It was a small party of 50 guests and we had like 20 pieces of chicken left. The waiters were kind and polite but totally disconnected from the party. We asked to have the appetizers served at the cocktail time in the terrace and they didn't served them until three times we asked them and all the guests were already sitting inside the reception place with faces of what's going on. If this place continues this practice there won't be Amelia and Carmen catering soon. I called them after the party and explained all that happened and Richard offered a discount for the next event. Really?

In the process of planning your wedding (if you choose the big wedding route) you will undoubtedly visit what seems like thousands of caterers in an attempt to not only choose quality of product but overal value for your dollar. I must admit that the thought of going to 'another' tasting was sort of like the feeling you get when you know you have to go to the DMV.. unenthused, and not reallly expecting anything extraordinary. However, after arriving at Amelia and Carmen and talking with Ruben this place sparkled like a new penny in my mind. What I liked the most about the packages and the way they're set up is that nothing is set in stone... you can customise it as you wish. I really liked that flexibility and its something that was important to me even from the very begining of my wedding planning adventure. **Allot of caterers do not budge on their packages.. well without you forking over serious dough** Anyway, I am getting two full bars, tables for the dining room (cutlery and all that jazz included), a lounge area with sofas and high cocktail tables, a sushi bar, and the sit down dinner/appetizers/booze for a very reasobable price (PM me if you want more details). I would recommend this place to anyone for any event, big or small, they truly want your package to me YOURS and will go above and beyond to make it the way you want it to be.

I have been trying to get in contact with Richard Pereyra, owner of this caterer, now for a few weeks we've been texting back and forth he set up a time for me to go to his office the other day and canceled it because he said he had a meeting then he would call me and let me know when he was back at the office. He never call me, never texted me and I'm still waiting for him to return the three hours of open bar that his staff ran out of liquor for and my guest had to buy liquor and bring to the party so that we could finish our wedding reception. We had also agreed with him to place charger plates on the tables they were never done, all of the chairs that were supposed to have covers during the ceremony were not covered, not all the tables had silverware, some of the staff was still not dressed at the time the wedding had already started. The signature drink that we had agreed upon to be premixed for the day of the wedding Valentine's Day and color red hurricane was never pre made and the ingredients to make the hurricane drink the day of the wedding were not brought. So many other things were not done that were agreed upon between Richard Pereyra and us. The only thing I heard him say to me is that he would offer me a thousand dollars for the three hours of open bar which I said no too, because I want the full 3 hours at $400 x 3= $1,200. He also told me in a text that he did his very best for wedding. Unfortunately his very best is not very good. He will also talk to you about using your deposit money in some type of pyramid scheme that he puts together and telling you that in six months he can get you five to eight hundred dollars back that you can use to pay off your event. This is illegal and if Richard Pereyra doesn't return my money for the three hours of open bar that we had to use our own guests money for I will go to the Hialeah Police and I will call every news channel that wants to listen to me so that no other couples have to be ripped off by this catering company. He bought a great name and has run it into the ground

Let's help other people find out about them and make sure the city, county, and state know the type of operation he's running.

We met with Richard a couple of months back and decided not to go with his company for catering services after reading what other brides/grooms were saying about their wedding day disaster. He still has not returned the deposit we placed with him even after he stated on multiple occasions in person and in writing that he would. He is very difficult to get a hold of and has made us go to his office in Hialeah several times to get our money back, only to tell us in person that he doesn't have it. Amelia and Carmen is no longer in business, the only thing that still exists is the name. Also the office is very unkept and dirty which should have been an indicator on the quality of service that would be provided.

I don't usually like to give bad reviews but I really can't help my self with this company. First off the meetings at their office where awesome. Food tasting was great. Prices where unbelievably good and the man that greeted us was oh so friendly. The day of my wedding, I expected it to be as they planned and promised. What a disappointment. The food was cold and under cooked. What we received was not what we ordered... We were missing sides and everything tasted horrible. I had two tables that were left without food and unattended but my guest were amazing they sucked it up and didn't tell me until weeks after. I'm assuming that they were in a rush and had something better to do, because the kitchen was empty and they were gone by 10p. They left in such a hurry that all the table linens and chair covers for 18 tables and their chairs were all left behind. When we called them, they said they forgot and we had to pick them up or else we would get charged additional fees. So, my remaining guest, new husband and I (the bride) had to scramble to clean it up so we wouldn't get charged their fees and any by the banquet hall. Afterwards they didn't pick up the linens until a month after and when asked what happened there was no response. I was done with them at this point and just wanted it all done and over with. The only good thing was the bar tender and the reason for my 2 stars. They stayed till the music stopped and all my guest loved them! Overall it was so disappointing (besides the bar tenders) and I regret ever giving them a chance. Stay away from this place, it is not what they say and such a waste of money... Regardless of the "Good deal" they promise you.

As your Yelp friend, please stay away from this company!!!! Richard single handily ruined by wedding day. Amelia and Carmen Catering was referred to us by a close friend and offered the best prices. $2,000 for set up, break down, linens, silverware, 5 appetizers, 2 meats, rice pilaf, pasta, vegetables, open bar, and cake cutting for 70 people. Too good to be true, right? ......*sarcastic* Right..... Richard and Maritza gave us the impression that they had everything covered. That everything would go smoothly and that they were true professionals and I really was confident that they would deliver. On Sunday May 25, 2014, I had my wedding at the Coral Gables Woman's Club. During the reception, there was no second meat, 3 appetizers were missing, the tables were set up incorrectly (even after I had given them floor plans), guests had to wait longer then anticipated, and some didn't even get to eat any food! My aunt had the opportunity to call Richard during the wedding who said they had accidentally sent the food to another event. After returning to Chicago, IL (where I reside), I called Richard to confront him about the mishap. His resolution was to offer catering for another party. I told him "Um, no, I don't even live in Miami. I want a refund. You didn't deliver on your end." After he reluctantly confirmed to return my money and four months of driving to his office multiple times to get the money, it is September 2014 and I still haven't gotten my refund. So, I am in the process of taking him to civil court since he signed a contract stating he would return the $500. Richard prides himself on trying to be charming to get away with providing horrible customer service. So, friend, I highly recommend staying away from them!!!! I should have listened to these reviews when I had the chance!!!!

Horrible. Do not use these caterers!!! They left a mess in our venue and caused us to pay our security deposit of $1000 we were so upset because they knew the rules of the venue and said that they would be able to comply. The appetizers were all wrong as well as the entrees. Each person at a table had a different looking dish! We has a signature drink that the bartender was told about multiple times and when people asked for it he acted like he had no idea what it was!! It was embarrassing! They also sat around and pestered my groom and I and our parents for more money for a tip, when we took care of that before!!!After the wedding we called them to at least have some help with the security or explain to the owner everything wrong that happened after he said he would help us pay half of the deposit because of everything that went wrong he then ignored all of our calls and we were stuck with the complete deposit and very pissed off parents who put a lot of money and time into planning this. If I could help any bride in planning a wedding I would say do not use these caterers no matter how good the price it is not worth it!!!

I am a wedding planner and dealt with this caterer over this past weekend. I as a vendor don't like to write bad reviews about others in the business but this company was so bad that I had to come on here an make the brides out there aware. First I will start by saying that this was a wedding of 180 guests. By industry standards you need 1 server for every 20 guests. Well we only had 5 servers including 2 bartenders. I don't blame the older servers that were brought to work this wedding but they were not able to keep up and were very disorganized. The chargers that they brought were all full of old moldy food and they were all mismatched and scratched beyond belief. They did not have enough napkins of the same color and material and the silverware, water goblets and champagne glasses were not cleaned properly. The mother of the bride, aunt, uncles, cousins, myself and my husband were all scrambling to make sure that the chairs were being brought back to the reception site from the ceremony area as they had only assigned one older gentleman to do this with one other gentleman which was supposed to be in charge. I had to serve the cider as they were scattered everywhere trying to get the hors' d oeurves ready to be passed out to the guests. The water was never poured into the goblets and I found myself having to fill water jugs and leave them on the table for the guests to serve themselves. I am just at a loss for words as this has been the WORST catering company that I have worked with throughout my whole time in the business. The owner never showed up as he had promised the bride's parents as they had met with him a week prior with intentions to cancel their contract as they had been seeing all of the review on this forum and gave him the benefit of the doubt and reassured them that he would be here. If you are a bride and have a deposit with this company go and try to get it back as you don't want this to happen to you on your wedding day.

Richard was a wonder to work with at first. Promised us the world for our wedding and continuously helped us. I couldn't have been more excited. Unfortunately, the issues happened first thing in the morning on the day of the wedding. Chair covers were forgotten, then brought, then found to not be the correct ones. My other vendors hired for the wedding had to assist the catering attendants because they were running so late. Guests also had to help place bows on the chairs (UNHEARD OF!) The drinks were warm and placed in a BBQ cooler on a 6ft table (this was for a wedding, not a picnic). The Bar attendant was unkind and the drinks were all gone before the appetizers were out. The shrimp cocktail was warm and old and truthfully, many of the guests didn't even see the other appetizers passed. The food was bland and not pleasant looking. The servers were very rude and took a very long time. One server even complained about one guest to another without realizing that they were husband and wife. Possibly the worst thing that occurred was that my cake was cut and NEVER passed. My grandfather and mother had to go into the kitchen to grab slices and pass them to guests. Then, the cake was thrown out. My sister in law made that beautiful cake and put an extreme amount of hard work into it and then it was thrown out like garbage. My family stayed behind about an hour after the reception to clean up and undo the table cloths/seat covers. The next day, while on my honeymoon, I was called by my venue to ask to pick up the ceremony chairs....YES. THE CEREMONY CHAIRS! I quickly called Richard and he said they simply forgot. How do you forget 150 chairs? Well, I don't know. But Amelia and Carmen did. We have gone to the office countless time after the wedding to ask him to return money for time lost and complete dissatisfaction for the event. He was charming and kind and agreed to return us what we asked for...We are still waiting. I was extremely patient and I hate confrontation. I called him, set up appointments, and one day, he decided to stop answering. We are now beginning to further pursue this legally. Richard WILL return us our money. I just hope that women read this before approaching the company. My day was magical because I married my best friend, but it pains me to know that the money my husband and I work hard for was wasted. If i can rate this company with NO stars, I would. Completely dissapointed.

The WORST WORST WORST! Catering company ever... I honestly dont know how these people are still in business. They showed up 5 min before the wedding started. Nothing was ready for the guests. Linens were wet, smelly, and didn't fit the chairs properly. I feel bad for any Bride that has to work with this company. RICHARD IS THE WORST THIEF....
