Gator's Dockside isn't the best, but it definitely is worth coming to at least once. The food is generally good with good prices. The wings are raved about around town, but they're nothing you can't get at some other places. The service is friendly and the bartenders are nice. I've had wings here before and they're pretty good. I usually get the scooter which is kind of sweet with a tiny kick. Other things on the menu are generally good. One thing I really dislike about Gator's Dockside is how they sell wings by either 10 or 50. But on Monday Nights, you can grab all-u-can eat for around 12 bucks. They also have Gator Tail here if you've never had it. (It's ok) The great thing about Dockside is the multitude of TV's they have around the place. It's a great place to watch whatever game you want. They also have some arcade games and pool tables to play while you wait for your food. Overall it's a pretty good place. Not amazing, but definitely worth a try.

My son and I shared an order of Suicide buffalo wings and an order of gator tail - they were awesome. He had the "Tailgate Burger" (2 half pound patties) and I had the Monte Cristo - both were great. Fun sports bar atmosphere and great food - we'll be back.

we have gone there several times over the years. i agree, it's a solid 2.5 star place. 'Kids eat free' on tuesday evenings used to be a nice option and pretty much the only reason we have gone recently. the first couple of times we went to the 'kids eat free' tuesday nights, they had a pretty good clown and they put cartoon network and disney channel on their big screens. more recently, the clown wasn't there and they left the tv on sports channels even though there were probably two families with young kids in the restaurant and nobody else. food is middling quality, a bit on the pricey side for sports bar food. it is probably the most convenient place to get gator tail near to gainesville (home of the gators) and that is the only other reason we have bothered going there.

  • Brandon D.

Good food (especially gator tail) and TVs everywhere. Usually good service.

Not very good wraps, stick to the wings and you'll be happy

Friendly and patient servers. Food okay, nothing really great. Very greasy burger. Great place to hang out for favorite sports games. Bring a sweater, cardi, or hoodie because it is always freezing in there.

Overpriced, rude waitstaff, and the tables are always sticky. We get that you can't expect the healthiest of options at a place like this, but would it really kill them to have a few additional grilled items and not everything deep fried in a tasteless, greasy batter? If you're looking for a way to kill your arteries, eat here. If you want good wings, you're better off at a place like Hooters, sadly. Oh and if you're a vegetarian, look elsewhere unless you plan on eating fries for dinner.

Typical bar food. awesome wings . but charging for condiments is stupid. Tuesday kids eat free.

  • Rachel E.

Oh Gator's. It's the only place I know to get a crapload of wings for a semi-decent price. Scooter sauce 4 ever. They recently raised the price on 50 cent wing day, what a bummer. They charge for ranch and celery, ugh. I've been on the weekend and on trivia night, and both were busy but didn't stress me out. I picked up a to-go order about a week ago and it was DEAD now that the students are gone. They also randomly put my sauce on the side, which I found odd and perplexing. But my girlfriend was offended and infuriated so she raged about it til she started eating. Then we remembered why we always order from there. Good food.

The food at Gator Dockside is hit-or-miss. The wings (grilled with garlic hot are the best) are very good, and the all you can eat deals are great. Most of the time the wings are larger and meaty. Their burgers and fries are pretty good too. My experience with all of their sandwiches, and fish and chips, has always been poor.

  • Peter M.

This is a good place to go watch a bunch of football games at once and have some drinks, but I am still trying to find something that is above average to eat. The grilled wings are ok, but way too small.

While in the same plaza as Moe's and Bento Cafe I had some time to kill and decided to stroll in for a quick drink. Upon walking in I was quite impressed at the size of the joint. The Gators were playing on the TV screen so I decided to grab a seat at the bar. It was fairly packed and had a really fun vibe. I tried their wings grilled, which were absolutely delicious. This is one of the nicer, if not nicest, sports bars in Gainesville. Highly recommended. They also have good drink specials during the week. I'm looking forward to going back and trying some other items on the menu.

This place should take a long walk off a short dockside.

    (1)
  • Belle C.

The food is mediocre, but the giant projector screens are good for watching a game. The spinach/artichoke dip is good when it's hot and fresh, but most of the time it isn't. The place is a zoo on Monday all-you-can-eat wing nights.

Gators Dockside is what it is and, for me, accomplishes its mission well. Basically, GD is a large Gainesville sports bar with food. My high school alumni group(s) use it for gatherings because it can easily absorb us without our renting a separate room. It is set up so everyone can table hop and catch up with old friends etc. Acoustically it is a challenge, but hey, it's a sports bar. The staff and management do a great job at accommodating our groups so that the service is timely, courteous, and patient. If we have extra needs they have always done whatever it takes to meet them. All that being said, how is the food? Remember that GD is a very large room that must produce large quantities of food quickly and have it be memorable and tasty. They accomplish those goal. All of the meals I have had there have been a notch above sports bar fare with unique and interesting twists that take it out of the burger and fries mass production regimen you might expect. A good example is The Seabreeze Salad that I had yesterday at the Gainesville Gathering. I am trying to follow Weightwatchers guidelines and look for ways to minimize the damage that a sports bar can render. This salad met my needs and made my tastebuds sing. Darn it was good. The salad had grilled chicken over greens with orange segments, raisins, nuts, and a low-fat vinegarette. Low-fat dressings are too often chalky to me and I generally dislike them. This was thoroughly delicious. Try Gator's. Don't expect a 5 star restaurant, but once you accept the premise of the restaurant you may agree that few do it better.

MMM!!! Gator's Dockside! The best wing place I have ever been to! The guys at work would always rant and rave about this place and made it a tradition to go the first of every month. I finally understand why :) My boyfriend actually took me to one of these restaurants in Orlando and introduced me to GRILLED SCOOTER WINGS! Yummy! They are seriously amazing! This place is great, their food is great, and the staff are great! This place is a MUST if you're looking for the perfect place to have the most amazing wings :)

I have tried Gators Dockside many times over the past year and every time I go I am disappointed in the quality of food and service. This time they forgot our appetizer and made us sit us for 30min. before they brought us burned up handburgers. The waitress scooted by us on numerous ocassions and never made eye contact with us and kept going. We were giving Gator Dockside another chance and as usual we were dissapointed.

All you can eat grilled wings in suicide sauce. That is all.

  • andy w.

Great for watching a Gator game if you can get in. The rest of the time do not waste your time. The times I have been there other than Gator games, they lost my order. How they stay in business when there are no Gator games being playing I do not know.

    (1)
  • Tu-van L.

A great alternative to other places to enjoy wings and beer while watching the game on the large wide-screen projection TV. GO GATORS!

    (4)
  • Dynne S.

Want to try exotic food? They have alligator! It takes like rubber chicken! The set-up is great for sports fans!! YAY GATORS!

  • Jon C.

I have very find memories of Mug Night at this place. I had great times here with some really awesome people. The food is good, the service is good, the projector screens on the wall are awesome. The bartenders left a lot to be desired, though. I swear they'll hire any hot girl off the street to sling drinks in this town, and the service suffers as a result. But if you want to watch the Gators game here, arrive an hour early, and spend money right off the bat - or they'll kick you out.

    (4)
  • Jorge U.

Good wings & beer. Good place to watch a game.

    (3)
  • Connie C.

Watch out this place can get really busy when there are sporting events on, especially football. However if you are looking to hang out with some friends and watch some ball this is the place. I usually go on Monday which is All you Can Eat Wing night. And they have them battered, naked, or grilled (which not many places do). They also have many drink specials.

    (4)
  • Logan f.

Their wing nights are the best. The rest of the food is kinda greasy and mediocre. Its real greasy. It is the only place to get your wings grilled instead of fried.

    (4)
  • Mark C.

My fiancee and I went there with our Living Social coupon in hand that we had already paid for! We went on an all-you-can-eat wing night and were 100% unaware that they would not let us use our Living Social thing on a specialty item. They should make sure people know that or they will have a lot of people leave, we did not leave but were expecting to only spend like 10 to 15 dollars and ended up spending like 38! Other than all of this I really didn't find any of the sauces that I really liked! Nothing really that I would rush back for!

    (2)
  • Michelle V.

Great place to watch sports! And probably 1 of 3 restaurants in Gainesville you can actually see sports. I never had anything else their besides their wings, but they were great. Probably my favorite wings in town. Go for the hot garlic if you like spicy! My waitress seemed a little fake in her kindness and tan, but the service was still pretty good.

    (4)
  • Daniel M.

Great place to watch games and fights. Food can be hit or miss. Wings are generally pretty tasty though. Wish they had better quality pool tables.

    (3)
  • Brian A.

Tv's Tv's and More TV's. This is a great place to watch a game it's another place that seems to get all of it's ingredients out of the freezer but they do a good job with it and always have good beer specials (Except during football games)

  • Scott T.

2.5 star overall. I had the gyro plate and is was OK -- more of a beer and burger joint. I was surprised at how busy it was for a Thursday 7PM dinner. Went with some friends - it was SOOO LOUD i could not hear myself think! Looks like the students love it as it is a SPORTS bar with a more or less sandwich menu and BEER .. oh did I say that already? Oh is was the 25 TV's I forgot to mention. I might have enjoyed it more if I was going there to drink. Or server was very goo and did not mind seperate checks. However, we where approached 3 times by runners trying to serve us others food! In fact, one guy came by and just dropped off a dessert in the middle of the table. Our waitress soon noticed and said it belonged at the table behind us. Maybe new staff ... school starting. I would not go bad -- unless I had a GET MY PERKS deal. ThenI would lower my standards! CHEERS!

  • Cameron W.

The wings themselves get five stars. I love the traditional hot just as much as the more unique flavors like the Caribbean Jerk and Scooter. Definitely go on one of the wing special days. I believe Monday and Wednesday are all you can eat nights for traditional and boneless respectively. TONS of TVs to watch games. My friends and I would often go on Thursdays during the fall for Thursday Night Football. Service is more in the three star range. I've had to wait extended periods of time for my food and even my drinks sometimes. The portions in relation to the prices also are less than satisfactory, not including the all you can eat nights. You have to pay extra too for vegetables and more dipping sauce. The quality of the food is superb. The service and prices, however, are not.

    (3)
  • Akshay S.

Who was the genius who suggested to try the Scooter Sauce? I can't thank you enough! Those was the most amazing wings I've had ever! I'm going there again just for the sauce! :D

Well. More changes. They recently renovated the space. Which would normally be a good thing, but in this case, it depends what you're looking for. With the more "upscale" look, the higher prices, and the departure of many of the weekly specials that brought us here, this place is very different than it was even just a year ago. There is no more cup night on Tuesday nights. End of an era :( Their drink specials seem to be limited to 2-for-one all the time (which, depending on how much the drink actually costs, may or may not be a real "deal). I believe they no longer have deals on buckets or pitchers of beer. (they may still do pitchers, but definitely not buckets.) They are pushing their craft beer menu- the selection is admittedly pretty good, but it does not rotate and the prices are a bit high. Most servers are not knowledgeable about the selection- they generally cannot tell you anything about the beers and you have to literally point to the one you want. Speaking of employees, there seems to be an unusually high amount of turnover lately. As far as food goes, they no longer do 55 cent boneless wings. I can't speak to the existence of AYCE wings. Luckily, scooter sauce is still delicious. But that's the only saving grace. Honestly, two stars is where it's at. "Meh" indeed. RIP old Dockside.

    (2)
  • Joe U.

All you can eat (AYCE) wings on Thursdays are no more. This'll be the last time I come here.

    (1)
  • Brandon F.

When I'm I want wings, and it's a monday... I will always go to Gator Dockside!! 12.99 AYCE can't do better than that in Gainesville

I'm a big fan of Gator's Dockside, mostly because of their burgers. I love a good burger, and theirs are top-notch. Also, their sandwiches are pretty great, and you've gotta try the fried gator tail. They've got a whole lot of big-screen TV's and it's good at all hours of the day, not just game nights. My favorite meal is a burger with a beer, and this is where I think Gator's Dockside is kind of lacking. They have a great selection of microbrews, and then they have the 5 or 6 standards. For some reason, there's just no in-between. If you're not interested in gambling but you still like specialty brews, the best you can hope for is Yuengling or Amber Bock. And that's a sad thing to have to say about a bar. Don't get me wrong, I love Swamphead as much as the next guy. But I really appreciate a good selection, and these guys didn't even have a beer list on their drinks menu. What kind of sports bar doesn't have a beer menu? Unless you're sitting at the bar, you won't be able to read the small chalkboard of microbrews. And this is a BIG restaurant. On top of this, when I asked the waitress for the beer selection, her response was, "Ummmm, Bud Light, Miller, Shock Top, Amber Rock..." I asked, "Can I get an Amber BOCK?" She said, "Sure," and then she came back and said, "We're all out of Amber Rock." I can't imagine but all I can come up with was that she must have been eighteen and never really read the drinks she's supposed to offer customers. It was comical, but not enough to make up for her ineptitude.

  • Dave M.

A rip off in every sense of the word - lousy food, lousy service and now inflating their prices with a B.S. argument that they are paying for ACA fees (when they really are NOT). This management needs to keep their politics at home and focus on the quality of their food ... it needs all the attention it can get!

    (1)
  • Brad K.

We go here for the wings and chili They have a great selection of wings and one of the few places you can get them breaded or naked Lots of different wing sauces to pick from, the scooter is our favorite Believe it or not their Chili recipe is excellent, very unique. It's your basic sports bar with lots of TVs and sports bar food. But better than the average.

  • Meghan S.

I was not super impressed by the wings that I got this last visit. Usually gators is my favorite location for some grilled wings but this last time they just seemed greasy. If you are going to make a trip in definitely try the scooter sauce on your wings because it is the best. Im sure I will give them another shot but overall disappointed last time.

We were here for the AUCE chicken wings that occurs every Monday starting at 5:00pm. From 5-6:00 it is $9.99 AUCE and from 6-11:00 it is a dollar more. The deal is good for anyone that can eat 20 or more wings because it makes them about $0.50 a piece. However, if you cannot eat that many, then it is totally not worth it. I could barely handle the 20, so I do not think that I will be coming back here again in the future. Everyone that I talked to in person and online recommended their Scooter sauce. To me, it was completely disgusting- a mix of super sweet honey mustard and hot sauce that formed this glutinous coating on the wings that actually smelled bad. So don't inhale when you bite into the wings here. I ended up favoring the grilled wings to reduce the grease factor, which paired best with their regular hot sauce or teriyaki sauces. The Gator Chips were a $7 pile of crispness. I was really craving cheese, but the wings here may be better with just a salad or nothing at all. I tried it and now I can go back to Ale House for overall better food, atmosphere, and wings.

Had a good vegetarian option at Gator's Dockside a couple months ago (although looking at their menu online I'm not sure if the black bean burger is still available). Good place to watch the UFC fights as well.

  • Mary S.

Delicious food, great staff. A little pricey, but for the type of restaurant it is, the prices are very reasonable.

    (5)
  • Jeff J.

I'm only giving them four stars because if the wings. Pretty much for the auce Mondays for 12.99 The wings are overpriced any other time. They charge 9 for 10 small wings

  • Elizabeth R.

This is my husband's favorite place to get takeout wings in Gainesville!! He also loves their blue cheese dressing. We often get food from here when there is a big game on, and I go pick up the food. I have eaten in the restaurant once, the atmosphere is nice for a sports bar. Not much for vegetarians to eat, but I understand that...it's a sports bar. My husband has eaten at practically every wing place in town and claims that these are the best which justifies their higher price.

The food is just REALLY bad. The worst offender is the New York Style Cheesecake; it puts the name to shame. The reason I go? My friends are trivia addicts The reason I order anything? I feel bad for the waitresses if I show up for trivia and don't order anything.

Went here last Wednesday night, 11/23/11. Myself and My boyfriend, and 4 other people (two couples). We had just watched a nice Christmas play at GCP and was a bit in need of some food, not entrees but appetizers. Gators Dockside was nearishby, so we all headed that way. We arrived to a not so busy night, Trivia night apparently...which I was cool with. I happen to be dating a trivia brained man, We came in at the end but still ended up with probably more points than people who had been there the whole time! It was very loud though, obnoxiously loud at points with the announcing and questions, If i was there to actually eat and relax I would have been annoyed. Onto the food. They had the regular menu out, and a late night menu...which had options for 3.99 and up. We got the Mozzarella Sticks (6.99) off the regular menu and Potato Skins (3.99) off the late night one. Our companions ordered the skins also, plus pork nachos, and Queso dip. Nobody really expected gourmet but I also didnt expect complete failure on all fronts. The Mozzarella Sticks were lukewarm, and tasteless...the marinara sauce might as well have been water. The Potato skins, there were three of them ( i dont get that, if its an appetizer and you know people are sharing, put an even amount on the plate!) the skins were small, and filled with cheddar cheese and bacon with about 2 scallions on top. They didnt come with sour cream, so I had to ask for it. They tasted like...rubbery lukewarm cheese. The skins werent crispy at all. Our friends Nachos according to him "left a lot to be desired" and the Queso needed more cheese in it and it wasnt melted all the way so they were digging it out with fingers because their chips couldnt handle the weight. I had been here once before...years and years ago when it first opened, and i remember being distinctly disappointed then too. Its kinda like Gainesville Ale House in that matter, I mean you could trade menus between them and there wouldnt be a flavorful bite to be had anywhere. Its all fried, boring, and not worth what you pay. We will not be going back.

My son is in Gainesville for college. I was in town on business so I met him here for drinks and AYCE wings at 9PM on a Tuesday night. The wings were very good as was the beer. It's a huge sports bar with a big menu. We also ordered alligator tail and it was very good. I'd go back for sure!

food is great and 2-4-1 drafts during the day cant go wrong and the place is really nice too awesome service...

    (5)
  • Brook W.

I love gators to food is good for a sports bar. A lot better than most in town and they have a lot of tables and tv. The Philly cheesesteak is the best on the menu add extra cheese. They have a good 2-4-1 strong drinks.

  • Adam G.

Not a fan of dockside at all. I've been there plenty of times over the years and I always wonder why I let someone drag me there. The service is almost always lacking and it can take forever to get a drink at the bar. It's loud and obnoxious, which is ok if there's a game on, but the place gets annoying even on a basic Saturday night. My real issue with the place: The food simply isn't very good. The wings are ok, but the rest of it is "meh". I often find this the case when the menu is so large. When you have 4 pages of different items, it's definitely coming from a freezer and half ass prepared. Few places can sustain such a large menu and really good quality at the same time. The only way I get dragged back here is if someone is buying my beer.

  • Chelsea B.

I'd visited several times before and was only mildly impressed (it's a decent alternative to the downtown/midtown scene). Bar food is bar food (eh...), and the service has always been just average. Also, it's always so damn cold in this place! I started coming more regularly last semester for trivia on Wednesdays (at least I think it's on Wednesday). I've been to trivia nights at several other Gainesville establishments and the turnout is usually pretty pathetic. Gator's Dockside, however, seems to have a pretty loyal following, which I don't understand since the trivia guy is an obnoxious d-bag. If you do come for trivia, take into consideration the slower than average service (understandable because the place is usually packed) when ordering. Like a previous yelper explained, when your food/drinks arrive order your next round. Also, it's worth finding a decent table location. Trust me, it's a pain in the ass to have to maneuver around clusters of people when running your answer to the front. Average food, average service, but above average trivia night.

  • Stacy C.

With a purchase of wings you have to buy your own CELERY and RANCH. I have never been somewhere that I had to buy what should come with meal. So cheap! The service is pretty slacking too

  • Christina C.

I've always loved this place... I first visited Gator's Dockside on my 21st birthday (or should I say a day or 2 before). I most recently visited once again this past weekend when I went to Gainesville and I had a blast just like old times. While the place was paaaacccckkked, they seated us in a very reasonable amount of time (like maybe 20 minutes) and the waitress was pretty good considering how many tables she was attending at the same time. We enjoyed some delicious gator bites and nachos. The best part: the drinks were 2 for 1. It cant' get any bettter than tthis place. Slight issue: the parking... took longer I think than getting a table, but oh well, it was a game weekend. You know how it is!

  • Kaitlin H.

This is your typical gross bar food joint. I got a wrap and it was sopping in dressing, and the potato salad I got as a side was also drenched in mayonnaise and didn't taste very fresh. My dad got the wings and they were incredibly greasy. I'd say this is a good place to go if you're meeting up with some friends to watch a game, but I wouldn't go solely for the food.

When in Rome, do as the Romans do. When in Gainesville, eat gator! I'm only in Gville for 1 day so I figure I must have some gator, so we head on over to here for gator and their all you eat wing night. Go elsewhere. The food was a HUGE disappointment! If you like sports, this is a great place to watch them. The walls are covered with huge screens. Judging by the food, I'd go only for drinks, or at least stay away from most of the wings and the gator. The batter/breading for the gator was bland and tasteless, luckily I could peel off most of it. The wings were ordered grilled (thanks to the suggestion of our server). Scooter-decent, Honey Garlic-tasted nothing but honey, Carribean Jerk-tasted no jerk seasoning only a sweet sauce, and the Parmesan Garlic-came out so burnt it was inedible and had to be sent back. Apparently honey is the main ingredient in their sauces because everything tasted like it. They charge you for every little thing! No celery/carrots and ranch/bleu cheese is included. I ordered a side of hot sauce, which came out only 1/2 full. When I asked our server if I could get another, only then did she tell me they cost extra. I asked her if I was going to be charged could they at least fill it completely? Worst part of this restaurant is how they waste food! You cannot take your leftovers home. I understand some of their thinking behind this in that people would order like crazy and take it all home just for the "low" price. But, c'mon, I had 4 wings leftover on my plate and I couldn't finish them and didn't want to waste them. I think the waitstaff should be allowed to make a judgement call on this. And this should be stated at the beginning by the server and printed on the menu, so people are aware of this from the start. Really GD, you were quite the disappointment.

Monday = Wing night / Shows UFC fights / Decent bar food $10 AYCE I most definitely get my money's worth. Here's the strategy if you're going for volume or if you're in a competition w/ your bros: 1) ask if you can place 2 orders w/ your initial order. Reason: They are slow w/ each plate. 1 plate = 7-9 wings at a time. You will start to get full. Smart biz move on Dockside's behalf. 2) Whenever your waitress delivers the wing, immediately order another round of wings 3) Repeat til you have the meat sweats PROS: -The wings are tasty: I go grilled. My top 3 flavors: Scooter, Caribbean Jerk, Parmesean Garlic. CONS: -Some are more greasy than others, but hey, they're wings! -Dipping sauce is extra. That's kinda BS, but whatevs. -Service is slow

Visit Date: 01.27.2010 Came here on SOTU night and ordered the wings since that's what everybody else supposedly gets here. I think they have $.50 wing night on Wednesdays, which made wings even more appealing. I had the Chipotle Honey BBQ wings which were good, and I got an extra wing. The atmosphere is great for sports games, with flat screen tvs and projector screens literally on all sides of the rooms.

This place is over priced on pretty much everything; especially drinks, and with Gainesville's never ending drink specials why waste your time. Food is ok although the scooter sauce is delicious. Service is almost always slow no matter how crowded. Go to Ballyhoos instead or mothers pub if you want to watch a game

Why 2 stars? Because, as the rating states, "Meh, I've experienced better." I've been here before, for wings mainly. I prefer Beef o Bradys but once in a while I'll stop by Gators Dockside for a change of pace. Today we went on a Thurs night. Almost empty. When we walked in, a waitress was fixing up something at the hostess booth. We just sort of stared at her then I offered a "hello", and she looked down and ran off. The real hostess came right after and sat us. I know she wasn't the hostess, but couldn't she just have acknowledged us and told us someone would be with us shortly? I'm pretty sure thats customer service 101. We ordered the fried button mushrooms, then each got 10 wings (Scooter and Parmesan Garlic). The waitress asked if we wanted sauce on the side, so we got bleu cheese and ranch. I knew they cost extra, but she should have told us just to be safe. Why offer it if it isn't coming with the meal? It's like asking someone who ordered steak if they want a caesar salad and then it's an extra $6, but were never told. Our buttons came out quickly and were delicious. I sort of detest mushrooms, but these were good. Served with ranch sauce for $6. Our wings came out about 10 minutes later. The scooter sauce is always a safe bet. Teriyaki mixed with some mild hot sauce. I got the naked ones. They were tasty, but the wings were small. One was a little rinky dink of a wing. $8. The bleu cheese that I ordered tasted like soap or detergent. It wasn't bleu cheese. It was something imitating it that tasted chalky. I told the waitress that it tasted like soap and I couldn't eat it. She just said "I'll tell them" and then came back with the bill with the bleu cheese on it. What bad customer service. There condiment was inedible, I clearly didn't eat it, and after stating that it wasn't good, still got charged for it. If gators dockside wants to provide bad service and charge me 70 cents for inedible food, then they can forget my future patronage. Some customer service training needs to go on in here. Food is decent, but the service leaves little to be desired.

Ok, So I've reviewed this place before and didn't have very nice things to say about it. The first time I went the service sucked ass and the food was Blahhhh. Got overcharged and under served. NEXT! But as of late I've been craving wings and i read that they have AUCE wings on Mondays for $10.99. So I went tonight and sat at the bar. (Definitely didn't want a server there again) The bartender was awesome. Personable and made my experience oh so much better. I had 2 Ice cold Amber bocks @ $1.50 a pop and tried the grilled wings w/ Scooter sauce, Chipotle honey BBQ and Honey Garlic. (Don't judge I was hungry) Scooter won overall.... actually by a long slide. They get 1 star for the bartender and 2 stars for the Scooty, scoot, scooter sauce! POW

Alright, gotta say that I was a little skeptical coming to a place that has the word "Gator" in it.... But I have to say I was impressed. I got my default, a Burger. The 'shroom Burger to be exact cooked medium. They got that right! Correct proportion of everything and I never uad to ask for service. Now, I've been reading some reviews (not necessarily for this place) that have been saying how they hate when people are asking how they are every 2 minutes. Well the service I got from Cara was amazing! Picture perfect serving skills, and I grew up with a waitress mom, in and out of restaurants listening to what my mom said lol I have to give Cara major props and will leave word with the mgr when I leave. Thanks Gators Dock Side for leaving an unexpected and welcome impression =] I even enjoyed the football, but I think that's cause I had a friend with me that didn't mind all my questions! Lol

I have been to this Gator's Dockside and others in Orlando numerous times. I went there for an early lunch. We were one of the first few people there. Service was spot on, but the food and seating..... First, the seating is wood benches. My tailbone hurt..... and the seating is deep, like they were made for padding, but didn't have it. Pretty uncomfortable for short people. More importantly.... the food. First of all, the grilled wings are deep fried then grilled as verified by a waitress on a previous visit. Maybe they do this when they are busy? So if you think you are going to eat healthy(ier)....then stop. This super dries the wings.... at other Gator's it didn't seem to be prepared this way. Second, their wings are very small. If it is not all you can eat night, then it is extremely expensive to eat wings here. $8 for 10 wings, no discount for 20..... They don't have a medium sauce... why don't they just mix hot and mild? Oh wait.... there was not a drop of extra sauce on the wings. The wings were overcooked, or reheated. They were extremely tough. The fries were warm at best. Again, we were one of the first tables seated for the day. I have no clue why we would be served luke warm fries...... My friend had the lunch Cuban sandwich, it was small and very generic. I know it is only $5.99.... but I would expect not to leave not satisfied. When I lived in Orlando, we went to Gator's a few times. Their lemon pepper grilled wings were amazing(still plagued by small size though).... I have not had that luck here. 20% left for the wonderful waitress who made a suggestion that was not on the menu(10 wing lunch special, 8.99) and kept our drinks filled with perfect timing. I won't be back because of the consistent food disappointment.

Go here for the wing nights, DO NOT order anything else. This place gets 4-stars on the "grilled" wings alone! Service is just OK. Atmosphere is kind of Douschey. Wings are Heavenly. As a restaurant or cool bar to hang at, this place fails on all levels.
