Friday’s Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Diabetics at TGI Friday

If you're a diabetic, then you must be extra careful while dining at TGI Friday. Try the salad menu at TGI Friday to keep your sugar and sodium intake in check. Soups are great to keep you full and satisfied without munching on the unhealthy greased meat-based dishes on TGI Friday menu.

Foods to Avoid at TGI Friday for Diabetics:

Sugar and sodium intake are crucial if you have diabetes. While the salads are the best option for you at TGI Friday, it is recommended to avoid the Pecan-Crusted Chicken Salad containing over 1000 calories and 1,650mg sodium. Also, skip Warm Pretzels with Craft Beer-Cheese dipping sauce as it contains more than 3000mg sodium. It is wise to skip the dessert for diabetics, especially the Brownie Obsession topped with Vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, and pecans.

Desserts are a big NO for you if you are worried about your high cholesterol levels. It is recommended to skip all kinds of desserts, especially the Brownie Obsession. You should also skip the meat burgers and sandwiches at TGI Fridays as these items are high in saturated fat which can elevate your LDL levels.

Exactly what you'd expect: average food, average service, average prices. You really can't go wrong with the endless apps but don't be expecting top-quality.

No waiting to sit but has to wait 20 minutes for waiter to even come and take drink order. He didn't speak that good English s I had to tell him several times I wanted a limeade and he kept saying lemonade. I got lemonade when he brought my drink. When I explained in detail what I wanted I had to tell him how to make it! Took forever to get our food and check. It was not busy yet took over 2 hours to have dinner tonight.

The service was soooo slow! We were seated in the bar and everyone seemed to by hustling but the table that took their order (by the same server and written on the same paper) got their appetizer and then their entrees before we even got our appetizers. Waiting almost an hour for an appetizer and having to ask repeatedly for refills was just crappy. Plus there was NO updates from the server/bartender. If someone tells me the kitchen is crazy busy or just communicates with me, I understand but ignoring us wasn't going to work. Especially since I had a salad and my niece had a sandwich!!!! It shouldn't have taken more than 15 minutes. That said, the ahi tuna appetizer was okay but VERY small.

Found out they delivered on ChompMenus.com . Got a delicious chicken Cobb salad with mac n cheese, tomatoes n mozzarella, and broccoli. There was no fork so that lost a star but overall everything was pretty good. Loved the tomatoes n mozzarella.

It's the Fridays you all know and love when you're out of original ideas. I never crave Friday's but every time I eat here I have a good meal and there are always good bar specials.

  • Mr. Snapperpant S.

Service staff meant well and were very nice...can't get over the fact that the bar smelled like stale vomit and urine. It's like someone used week old mop water to clean the floors. Like I said, service was good but the odor was too much. Probably won't be back.

  • Java A.

VERY SAD! They continue to change the menu and, now, I am no longer a fan and have quit going here. Their prices have gone up and they've dropped all their specials that used to be tremendously popular. Now, instead of pick 2 for $10, it's pick a narrowed selection of food for $16. They are trying to nickle and dime. Will not go back. I have noticed, every time I drive back, they have less cars than they used to.

*Puke* Clean your mop bucket water!! You just destroyed my mediocre opinion of your establishment with the smell tonight. Why does your restaurant smell like puke, cheese and feet? The food- decent and well priced. Friday's- is a step up from applebees and a step down (imo) from Chilis. Same exact food though but damn that smell- I almost contributed to it. They have bingo on Wednesdays... Weird.

Worst service ever. Management sucks. Good was horrible. Do not eat here. Management just offers to comp my dessert and appetizers, which I had a coupon for. I won't be returning.

Oh how I love the JD sauce. Sadly it is not gluten-free. A few weeks ago we decided to give TGI Fridays a whirl since we heard they had a gluten-free menu. Upon arrival we sat down and asked for the GF menu. We took about 2-3 minutes to look through and realized there was nothing too exciting to eat on the GF menu. We immediately apologized to server and walk right back out the door. I give an A effort for effort, however I do not see coming here for a while unless their menu is expanded to have more GF choices

One of my college jobs. I was a hostess so I didn't wear the stripes and buttons and hats and I was paid pretty poorly but this being Gainesville it was enough...the livin in G'vlle was easy and you could always sell your plasma (blood not TV) if you needed extra money...Yup, me and the crack heads...but they gave out cookies afterwards, yeah! Back to TGIF. Look, when I was in high school I would go to a TGIF with my boyfriend Craig, and we thought we were really dining out. But I would never step foot into a TGIF now. Life is too short and the choices are many. Don't waste your time. Boring, Predictable, Suburban, Lame.

Fridays as the other reviewer said was passable in High School, but not these days. Either they've gone completely downhill or my palate has changed. Is it just me or are all Fridays completely run down?!(holes in the booths massive potholes in the parking lot and generally just beat up?!). The food is extremely mediocre(the lunch club is vile, what's up with the mass amount of mayo, NASTY.). The spinach dip is weak, as are the wings. I used to love getting the Jack Daniels Chicken with loaded baked potato + extra side of Jack Daniels sauce, now the chicken is low quality AND they don't even offer baked potatoes anymore. I would recommend Chili's. Maybe the bar would be fun at Fridays, but drinks are so much cheaper at the Ale House next door I don't see why you would stay here.

  • Ashley B.

I came here for drinks with a friend- too expensive. I hate drinking at restaurants though, because it's so gimmicky. Then I came back for date night with my boyfriend. I hadn't eaten at Friday's since I was a child, and I had fond memories. Those memories have been mostly crushed, lol. I would rather go to Chili's right next door. They seem to have a better grasp on their menu and what they do well. Friday's does have "Right Portion, Right Price" items on their menu, which are $5.99-9.99 and under 750 calories. These are good for those who enjoy going out, but don't want to break the bank- calorie-wise or financially. I ordered one of those items, but my boyfriend didn't. However, his entrée seemed like a variation on mine- small portion of chicken with a side of veggies. Maybe if we had ordered from the more expensive, calorically dense part of the menu we might have had more exciting meals. They don't have a 2 for $20 deal like Chili's does, but they do have an appetizer, entrée and dessert for $16. Our service was less than stellar. The entrées took a while to come out- apparently they burned my dish. Hm. The waiter seemed distracted, maybe he was new. We had a movie to catch, and we barely made it, as he avoided our table like the plague when we were ready to ask for the check. My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time here, but mostly because of each others' company. If you're going to a chain restaurant, I suggest finding a different one. Just to name a few, Chili's, Texas Roadhouse, Outback, and Carrabba's are all just a few moments away from here.

I'm giving them two stars based Ln service alone!! I came here after a long day (and an email about a discount...full disclosure) looking to get some food to go on the quick. Not only was I waiting over 20 minutes to place my order, no one even offered me a menu. Then after I did finally order they didn't even offer me a glass of water. I'm just saying!!! Ugh

Service is great! Food is fresh and tasty! The chicken in my salad was warm and grilled perfectly. I ate my salad completely and I recommend it (Chicken Cobb Salad)! Place is good and not too loud.

Flat iron steak was shoe leather tough, that is just poor quality control. As well you had better want your burger well done that is all I need say there. The fry's are like bits and pieces that should clue you in on what you need to know there as well. When they run all you can eat specials that is the first warning that should tell you they are desperate for business and cutting corners especially on the quality of the food. You want drinks and a bar then no problem, but if you want to pay for dinner pass on them for now.....

I generally like Friday's, but this location is terrible. The plates were dirty. The floors were covered in food. The bathroom minor was taped up, and the place was overwhelmed with the smell of beer. Worst Friday's experience, and I will not be visiting ever again.

This restaurant is inconsistent with it's quality of food and service. Sometimes it's what you would expect and nothing more from a Friday's. Sometimes it is not, in a negative way.

Service was excellent, but then again it was 4 pm and I had the waitress to myself....food was excellent and so was my drink....so far all my visits have been very good, then again I always visit around same time....my only issue with this restaurant is that it needs to be freshened up, a facelift if you will....it smells old and worn out.

Worst. service. ever. Granted we were a big group but one of the waiters spilled a whole cup of water on a friend and just threw some napkins at her. The waitress had a serious attitude problem, it was just a bad experience for such lousy food.

  • Keith C.

Went to the restaurant on Friday night and there was a long wait. We got in before everyone else waiting because we had a group of 8 and a table of 8 just opened. That was great and we appreciated the fact that they had tables for large groups. It's very hard to get in with a large group at most places since they have to wait to put tables together. Service was a little slow but it didn't impact our overall experience.

Kenny keeps us coming back. Wonderful service to everyone around the bar and always cheerful. It makes you feel great to walk in and be greeted by name. We never receive bad service from any of the bar staff. Love the spin dip & strawberry mojito.

Good ole TGIFridays. This is one of the nicer restaurants in the chain. This visit was mainly focused around happy hours so I can't rate them on the food for this trip. They have great happy hour specials with $2.50 beers and cheap wells. Don't be afraid to ask what the prices are on their specialty drinks because it can save you in the end. The "Diddy up" drink is $10 but thankfully the waitress told me when I tried to order it. I had the new Jackberry drink and highly recommend it. They have an after work happy hour and a late night one with discounted appetizers. I highly recommend visiting during happy hour. They have a large bar area but not the best place to watch a game.

I've been in several TGI Friday's around the world, and this one was the most disgusting. The bathroom was filthy and in disrepair, the table was sticky, and the food was subpar. The server took 7 minutes to bother to come over to our table, and she was scarce after that. I'm going to avoid this place for now on.

    (2)
  • Caley C.

Frist thing we notice is our table being dirty (with sticky sauce). The waiter watch me clean up the spot without offering to clean the table. The wall next to our table are cover with substance. Our waiter got our order wrong, but was corrected later on. However we were charge extra $3 for his mistake. All I can say about this restaurant : Dirty and bad service.

I just found out that the person they have had calling Bingo on Wednesday nights was fired for no reason and was treated unfairly by management. Since the new General Manager has been there, the place has gone down hill fast. I have only continued to go because Charlie has been calling Bingo and he created a great atmosphere for me and my friends. I will no longer go to Fridays and I encourage others to do the same because of the new management. They do not care about their employees, and they do not care about their guests.

I love Friday's. I love Friday's JD Glaze. I love their ribs. I love their fries. This is one of those restaurants that I could eat at every day and probably only hate it after a year of nonstop Friday's food. I love the sauce so much that I bribed a cook one time to sneak me some 'extra' sauce in my to-go order... he gave me three whole bags which I used to grille out for two months. I love it even more than that, enough that I tracked down what I think is the exact recipe and I make it at home - it's delicious. Granted, it never comes out 100% exactly the same, but it is EEEEERRRILLLY close. (I did catch the stove on fire once because of the brown sugar/bourbon goo that oozed over the side of the pan). At one point in my life, I had a few thousand points on my rewards card because where I was from many years ago, Friday's was 'the it place' (which is really sad), during the winter months, so we pretty much went there every weekend - I know, very lame. Having said that. The Friday's here is terrible. There are a few gems strewn throughout this place (men and women), but the last three instances my wife and I ate here, the service was terrible. The only redeeming quality was that the manager came and chatted us up (which they should always do for a brief second) and there was what I would call a 'floor greeter/host/assistant manager in training' that also checked on us (he sat us too)... so that was pleasant. If you read this GM, he's the younger guy, probably in his early 20's, always dressed nice. This review isn't to complain about the food, because it's always good - it's to point out the service. Two instances ago, my wife and I got to Friday's around 845. We were seated in the bar area at one of the high tops (no big deal to us). We ordered our food, simple enough and then proceeded to wait over an hour for our food to come out. I am not one to complain, ever. I will send a hamburger back ONLY if it comes with cheese... not if it's over/under cooked. I'll eat semi soggy fries and pick things off my salad that weren't supposed to come on it. However. I hate waiting. I finally said something to the waiter who told me, "oh, our computers went out and we had to do everything over again". I'm pretty bright. I can smell lies (and fear) and this kid was lying (and scared for his job for some reason - I dunno). I said, "ok" and proceeded to wait..... and wait.... and wait... 15 more minutes. When it was all said and done. 1h15m went by before we got our food. No big deal you're thinking, suck it up! My burger was missing all the condiments. Because it was a weekend, he had three HUGE tables that were trying to split the bill into 15 different checks... that monopolized some of his time. By the time he came over, my burger and fries were cold - screw it and it eat you say? Why yes, I did. At this point, I was so ticked off that I asked the 'floor guy/manager in training' (he happens to be here every time we eat), if he could get our check... so he gets it. Then we wait another 15 minutes for someone to walk back by (it was floor guy again) and I ask him if he could pass our cash on so we could pay. I see him go over to our waiter who looks at us, makes what looked like a smart comment to him and looks away... he then comes over 5 minutes later with our change.... he throws it on our table, turns around and walks out. Here's where things get dicey for me. I tip 20% even if the service sucked. Since the US allows restaurants to get away with paying $2.17 an hour, I feel like it's my job to make up for that fact, as well as all the people who feel $1 is enough on a $10 tab - we all know who you are. Typically, on a good night, I'll leave 30-40%. My wife looks at me and says, "don't you dare", meaning, 'if you tip this guy good, I'm not having sex with you ever again'. So I left him 20%. The thing is. Had he just acknowledged the fact he was slammed (even though I could tell he was), or just told us the truth about our order not being put in, I would have left him twice as much. But because he projected a bad attitude towards us because of the other tables - we became what I like to call a self fulfilling prophecy. What does that mean? It means he automatically thought we'd tip bad since he was slammed, so he paid less attention to us, which in turn, caused us to have a bad experienced, which in turn, left him with half of what we would have given, which, in turn, because of the butterfly effect, he will be less attentive to his next table, who in turn will tip him less, which in turn will have him going home with under $40, which in turn will have him pissed off when he gets home, ending up with him yelling at his wife, who in turn will sleep bad, get up late, have their kid miss school and end up having an all around bad week. ...all because he couldn't say 'sorry for the delay'. 2 stars for overall experience. 5 stars for the food (for a Friday's - not compared to Ruth's or Shula's

The $10 burger deal going on right now is actually pretty good. You can have as much fries as you want in three different varieties: seasoned, parmesan and sweet potato. You can switch up the refills however you want it. I had the Philly burger which was better than I expected. The two patties were seasoned without being overpowering. The condiments that came with the burger resembles that of a Philly cheese steak. Service was top notch. I've been to Friday's on several occasions and never got the chance to write up a review. This review should be taken with a grain of salt because I have had my ups and downs with Friday's previously.

Just your standard Friday's. Not really impressed with the menu selection. I prefer the other chains (Chili's, Applebee's, Ruby Tuesday) more. Our table ordered the turkey burger with sweet potato fries ($1 extra over regular fries) and the fish and chips. I think the food here is slightly overpriced, e.g. the fish and chips were $10. The turkey burger was dry, sweet potato fries were really good (although a little salty), and fish and chips were also good. Service was satisfactory.

Great pick 3 appetizer with loaded potato skins, wings, and dumplings. Each item tasted excellent. Took a while to get though. Then my Caesar salad with chicken was pretty good. The food was a four and a half out of five but it just took so long and they weren't packed or anything although it was lunchtime. So my opinion of the service is that it is average. I will likely go back since the food was good.

For all of the negative Yelp reviews, I can honestly say I've been to this Friday's several times without any problems. My mom and I share a "Give Me More Stripes" membership that makes it really worth going back, and their normal deals are pretty good too. The food has never disappointed and the service has always been swell enough, but maybe we just have good luck with our waitresses. Since I have a small appetite, I like ordering from the Taste & Share and appetizers menus; the garlic & basil bruschetta and chicken hibachi skewers have become my favorites! Good food, good prices, nice environment; Friday's has yet to give me any reason to avoid coming back for more.

I felt so strongly about how bad this place was that after reading the reviews of other Yelpers, who said mostly the same things I did, I decided to email the company with a link to the Yelp page. Of course I had to put in my phone number on the company website. A few days later I got a call from the store general manager apologizing and saying that he would get to the bottom of what was going wrong. I'd be interested to hear from any Gainesville FL Yelpers to see if the place improves.

I come here once a week because it's the only place open when I get off from work. Their bar is excellent. Their new menu is great because now they receive fresh food multiple times a week! It really is such a great improvement. I love ahi tuna crisps and the new fresh turkey burger. I will say, there have been a few times that was a complete miss. Late at night, the cooks send out sub par food and the servers are slow and unattentive. I usually sit at the bar because they know I work in a restaurant too and I get top notch service. Overall this is my go to place to drink and relax and I love the new menu changes.

I guess I should have checked Yelp before assuming "It's a Friday's - it will be what we always expect!" I was traveling through the area and we needed some food and to kill a little time waiting for some other people to join us.... all I can say is I'm glad we weren't in a hurry. One of the other reviews hit the nail on the head, so I'm just adding to that sentiment with another story of woe, but needed to either warn other patrons, or warn the management team. The food? Same as you'd expect at any Fridays - good, hot, and [usually] delivered promptly. The service, however , needs some serious improvement. In this case, our wait for drinks was long (and it was not busy), and our wait to get our food order taken was longer - LUCKILY we're "Stripes" members and get salsa-and-chips as a starter automatically, or we may have starved. Of course it took so long we asked for ANOTHER salsa and chips. Those never came -- but they were listed on the ticket at the end, so the order was taken, just never _delivered_ -- so I'm thinking the delay on our "real" food might have been related to front-of-house issues as well. GM: Get your front-of-house in order or lose business. We may not have been local, but your locals will figure this out as well and stop coming. The service was so bad I'm half tempted to click "Waiter Service: Not-Sure" on the survey below.

Under different management. Food isn't the same as it use to be. Food seems to be more fresher and less frozen but I prefer the old management.

Ugh

About TGI Friday

TGI Friday is a casual dining American restaurant chain founded in 1965. The term “TGI” is an acronym for Thank God It's and together the name of the restaurant is often announced as Thank God It's Friday. Over the years of its existence, the TV commercials and other advertisement streams have also twisted the phrase a bit and used it as Thank Goodness It's Friday. The restaurant serves alcoholic beverages primarily. However, they are also known for their low-carbohydrate and low-fat menu items to promote a healthy lifestyle. TGI Friday also offers gluten-free items on its menu for those with gluten intolerance.

Besides the cool name, TGI Friday also has an interesting background story of its origin. The founder of the restaurant Alan Stillman lived in a New York-based neighbourhood full of a young crowd, especially girls from the airline and fashion industry. He started the first TGI Friday restaurant in New York in the hope of meeting single women as there weren't any such public place for young men and women to meet. He invested $5000 on his own and borrowed another $5000 from his mother to buy a bar named The Good Tavern and renamed the premise to Thank God It's Friday, inspired from an expression during his time at Bucknell University.
