High Blood Pressure at Applebee's

Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. You can rely on a few salad options though. If lucky, you may find low-sodium ribs as well at the restaurant.

Came in at 8:42 got a table right away. The good serve ended there! It is now 9:11 the hostess came over and gave us water. I wonder why ????? OH YEAh!!!!! she saw me writing this yelp review. It is now 9:15 and the waitress finally showed up and took our order. She came back to add four more plates to the four we already had on the table ; were only two people are setting. It is now 9:30 ; " HIT AND RUN MARY " gave us our appetizer. It is now 9:38 yeah the main finally came. It is now 9:48 and old HIT and RUN gave us the check at least their quick at making sure you get the check to pay. In short if you are looking for prompt service and a server with a smile on their face. Don't come to 10th ave and 13th street Applebee"s

So it had been a while since my wife and I had visited an Applebee's and now I remember why. Service is ok usually young college kids with a little enthusiasm. Food was ok. Here is my issue. They have 6 TVs in the center area of the restaurant so everyone that sits on the outer ring can see the backs of TVs. This still is not the issue. The issue I have is the amount of dust on the backs of these TVs. Absolutely horrible! If I was the owner of this franchise location the managers would be immediately fired. Again something so simple as cleaning properly reinforces the idea that Applebee's in general is a rundown low budget restaurant that people should avoid. Wife here: We ordered spinach & artichoke dip, and the chips they brought us were extremely stale- like soft & borderline soggy. Also they wanted to charge an extra $1 for more stale chips. I think all restaurants give free chips when you order chips and salsa type appetizers. Another thing- I witnessed a server or bartender standing behind the bar, handling cash & coins, and then immediately throwing lemons into drinks to be served...without washing her hands. Money is one of the germiest and dirtiest things you can handle, so that was pretty disgusting to watch. They could at least use tongs to pick up the lemons if they're not going to wash their hands.

We can to celebrate my hubbys birthday but they didn't sing and brought him about a bite of brownie and ice cream. Next time i come i will be getting something else.

the service was quick and the waitress was really polite. The food was even really delicious however the place severely lacked atmosphere. if me and my wife had not decided to go here before hand I highly doubt we would have went at all. There just wasn't a good enough vibe to make us want to stay and hang out for a bit.

Applebee's is one of the craziest restaurant establishments around. The pimps outside are in gorgeous all-cream suits. They hold the door for your crew then tell the hostess who is trying to seat you that he and his hoe were first. The rednecks wear caps embroidered "HOTT MESS" and then put ANOTHER hat on top... nothing less than, you guessed it, camo! The server was high on Mary Jane. You COULD go to any normal fern bar, but I implore you, go to Applebee's where the show is free!!!

Steak was horrible. Blame out first , was cold or old or microwaved or something. Friends say the burger and shrimp were good. Waiter was nice about it.

8We went to eat there with group of 13. We were seated quickly. Waiting time to order drinks was about 10 mins .. Then almost 20 mins waiting time to get the drinks. Time to order food . The menu is not that exciting but they have a little of everything .. We started with spinach dip and it tasted kind of good but the home made chips were just bland and had no taste . Waiting time for main course food about 40 mins . I ordered sirloin, spinach, and healthy whole grain mix. I have to say it was delicious, nice seasoning, and the meat was perfectly cooked. Other people from the group ordered pasta and chicken wraps that I tasted. The wrap taste boring, nothing special for restaurant and the pasta was over cooked and not much taste .. Nothing is worse than over cooked pasta . Our waitress was kind of lost and slow but the manager.. i guess he was manager stepped in and kind of pulled it back together . But we were there already over hour and half during lunch break. So if u have a lunch break, don't eat here. Then the waitress made chaos with the bills and it took an other 15 mins to find out which receipt is which .

After internship I stopped here for dinner since I was really hungry. It is nice on the outside and inside, and there are some good choices of music on the playlist. Now, about the food. The first time I ordered the Grilled Chicken Penne Pasta, since the entree I originally wanted wasn't available. I had to ask for more Alfredo sauce because without it, the pasta was pretty bland. The next time around, I ordered my initial entree: 4 cheese Mac & Cheese with the honey chicken. It was just okay, nothing like what I tasted in the South Florida locations. The only thing I loved was the strawberry lemonade. I will also give credit to the servers. They do an awesome job especially when they have lots of tables to wait on. Maybe next time I'll try something out of the ordinary on the menu, I'll see.

Everything is awful, from Appetizer to fries and entree, they are too salty!!!, the seasoning of the steak tastes like the seasoning bag in those $1 instant noodle, this is the worst dinner I had in the U.S for the past 7 years. I think 1 star review is too generous, should be 0 star! The food tastes like it cooked by someone who had never cook before.

I've been to my fair share of Applebee's and I think it has nice laid back atmosphere to it, but the Gainesville Applebee's is by far the worse one I've been to. The servers wrap the silverware by everyone that's eating and they put the silverware all over the table to do it and on top of that if you even consider getting a to-go order, FORGET IT! They rarely ever will bring your food out to you! You have to go up to the bar and get it and even then the bar tender takes forever to even acknowledge you and half the time they forget to give you your drink. They just suck at to-go orders in general.

This place was awesome! They served me a very healthy chicken! These warriors stayed working until late in Gainesville!!! I ate Cedars Chicken and my wife Napa chicken. The servers were very nice and concerned about our needs. Definitely recommend this place!

My girlfriend and I mostly got the same waiter, Kevin, who was really a great waiter. And, the few other waiters we got were just as great. The food is always tasty and hot.

The 2 for 1 drinks are a joke. Wasn't this restaurant cited for watering down the liquor? Four of us each ordered one drink, sucked them down in 10 minutes & felt no buzz whatsoever. Basically a 5 dollar cup of whipped cream.

It had been years since I had last been to Applebee's and this confirmed why this chain should be visited by the Grim Reaper and put out of it's misery. It was a late night choice between here and Sonic and we chose wrong. My guest and I ordered the steak, I had the baked potato with a salad. The salad was the highlight of the entire meal. I ordered the steak Medium Rare and it came out much closer to Medium-well but being late night I wasn't in the mood to upset the chef and have them do who knows what to my food back in the kitchen. As for the quality of the steak and flavor, lets just say that shoe leather could quite possibly get a better rating. The baked potato seemed like it had been dipped in old frier oil before being baked yesterday, while at the same time it was still hard as if it had not been cooked thoroughly. Did I mention the drunk waitress? After being seated and getting out drink order she disappeared for about 10 minutes before returning with our drinks and to finally get our order. Each time she returned the effects of the alcohol became more evident. At the end of the meal we were about to send a search party out to find her in order to get our bill and pay so we could get out of this location to never return. May this chain soon go the way of the dodo bird and become extinct!

This place is horrible. I took my daughter and grandson (12 months) here as they opened. The tables were dirty (like food pieces on them), the bathroom was disgusting, the food was very poor, and the waitress was either drunk or extremely hungover. It was the worst restaurant experience I have had.

    (1)
  • Jesse R.

Terrible. Steak was charred and center was rare... definitely NOT medium rare! Shrimp was overcooked. Broccoli wasn't cooked and bitter. Mixed drinks were abysmal; we sent them back and ordered wine instead. We didn't finish our food, didn't ask for boxes, and were never asked if we were happy with our meal. In fact, the entire experience ensures I will never go back to Applebees again. Not just this Applebees. ANY Applebees. Ever. STAY AWAY.

Went for dinner about 9pm. Service was non-existent. No beverage refills. No attention after the food was served. After 30 minutes we had to flag the hostess and ask her to track down our server for the check. Food was average at best.

My Mama took me & my Sister-in-law here for drinks before (& after) pedicures. I was not impressed. The table by the bar was very wobbly (which is such a pain). The waitress was virtually nonexistent at our table (she stood, along with many others wait staff, at the end of the bar by the kitchen chatting). We ordered the strawberry mojitos, which were very pale in color & bitter & tasted mostly of club soda. The waitress finally returned & when we told her, she took ONE to have it remixed, then never returned. The manager finally came by & asked if there was an issue & upon our explanation he wisked all our drinks away & returned quicky with new ones, which were made properly. However, we had to suck them down quickly to make our appointment. We had been there AN HOUR!!! One drink. :( Upon our return we realized there were other issued with other wait staff at other tales. The poor manager was sweet & working feverishly to put out fires all over the restaurant. If they'd fix the staffing issue, I'd not be adverse to returning if I'm on that side of town again. The appetizers we ordered were pretty good & came quickly. The wonton tacos had a lovely slaw that I could have definitely made a meal of. We had 2-for-1 drinks on a Monday night, and felt pretty buzzy when we left. All in all, mission accomplished, but I wouldn't visit again if I were in a hurry. Just for the record, this isn't my first visit here and I've encountered the same server-related issues (at night, anyway).

  • Christine V.

We used to come to Applesbee's every Monday for their wing special, but not anymore. The quality of the food has slowly deteriorated to the point where it is not worth coming for the deal anymore. The wings sometimes have too much sauce, other times none. The chili soup and the chicken tortilla soup used to make a good side with the wings but the soup's quality has also vanished and they taste like canned soup; more so if they are luke warm. The only thing on the menu that remains tasty is the brownie bite (small slice of brownie with vanilla icecream).

  • Nico S.

Laughable. How are they still in business? We came for an ironic end of semester meal, and left really disappointed. We ordered the boneless chicken wings as an app and it was way too little chicken for 10 bucks. My pasta was WAY overcooked- and gross. I asked them to check it out, they said they'll remake it. Came back with the same garbage. I think they have it stocked in bags back there and just throw it in to boil. My buddies got the endless soup and salad special, but it didn't seem so endless. Every time they ordered more soup and salad, our server gave them stank face. This place sucks. Always has. Always will.

Of course Applebee's sucks: It's not that this location is particularly shitty, but across the country shitty is the standard for them. Anytime I have gone into an Applebee's, I was on the road, starving, and nothing else was open. Every time I have gone into an Applebee's , I immediately regreted it. This has become the place for the old creepy white guys to go get drunk, and stare at the scantly clad college girls all night.

Horrible!! First time going to Applebee's ever and it was my last! The burger my friend order was iffy! I ordered the fettuccine alfredo with chicken and broccoli. It was HORRIBLE!! The broccoli was bitter the noddles over cooked and the sauce was definitely Ragu or something! I'm sticking to Chili's, Ale House and Ruby Tuesdays!

We came here last month and it wasn't half bad. But this time we had a great waitress. I want to request Amanda every time we come here. Yes some of the food is greasy but I can find of good deals here 8-) the bad news is once I find something I love they change it.

Have you been seeing those absolutely scrumptious (sauce dripping) burger ads lately on TV? Yeppers, it's Applebee's, your Neighborhood Grill doing it again. When the LCD asked what I'd like for dinner Sat. night, I had visions of this floating in my periphery. So a few left and right turns through a residential area and we were quickly there. I took a look at the menu and although the pic's all looked great, it sure seemed like a bunch of bulk. We both resorted to salads instead. She the southern pecan crusted chicken and I the Californian Shrimp with avocado ranch. Both were good but not great and I would have killed for some real slices of avocado. The chicken was fried and cut into thin strips and quite tasty. The shrimp were small and few but flavorful. We split an order of loaded mashed potatoes to counter the disappointment of foregoing the burger. I suppose, it was an uncomfortable comfort food issue. Oh! and yes, we split a maple nut blondie served warm with ice cream and vanilla sauce. That was good.
