I stayed in this hotel for two months in Q1 2014. BAR: Albert's/2 Bits is the bar in the Hilton lobby. They are very expensive and try to claim the pool is part of the bar. You have to walk into the bar every time you want a $10 drink instead of other Hiltons that have waitresses bring the $10 beers to you while you are at the pool. This one makes you go get it. They also claim that due to "liability" you can't drink your own booze, only theirs which is just greedy bullshit. One of my biggest pet peeves about this place is that they have NOTHING for happy hour. Not even two for one. NOTHING, NO HAPPY HOUR AT ALL. Some of the staff are friendly and helpful. Others complain constantly and whine about wanting to go home because they have better things to do. One girl has really greasy hair and she seems to hate bartending. What they consider busy is what other hotel bars would consider slow. They could learn a lot from the Ocala Hilton. RESTAURANT: Breakfast: They have great breakfast food. The Omelet guy is pretty good. I love the smoked salmon. A lot of Hiltons have quit serving it and that sucks. This one always has it. It's my favorite food there. They also have tasty bacon. If you are like 99% of the other people there, you have shit to do after you eat so you better go ahead and ask for your check when they seat you because you will have to flag them down later if you don't. Lunch: I don't think they serve lunch. They might through room service. I don't know. Dinner: They have a few decent items. I like the hummus plate. You get a lot for your money. They have a good sandwich too and the grilled chicken isn't bad. All of it is overpriced just like their booze.

We had a late breakfast after a workout and it was great. The staff was very nice and several stopped to chat with me and my husband. Buffet was still laid perfectly, couldn't have asked for more.

The breakfast buffet here is excellent. We stayed at the hotel and got a deal for $10 extra we got the buffet for a family of 4! The food spread was fantastic and the service was very attentive. Will come back again for sure.

The Director of Food and Beverage Wagih William is fantastic and always accommodates me and my peers at this restaurant.

This is definitely a hotel restaurant, but I have to say the Friday night buffet was a step up from what I expected. The seafood was somewhat fresh as were the other selections. I do agree that the staff wasn't the best. It even appeared that several didn't speak English well. There's much room for improvement, but for Gainesville, not so bad.

Located inside the Hilton. This place has the potential to be much better than it is. The food is pretty good, but the service is atrocious. If you want to be a nice restaurant, it shouldn't take 3 people to open a bottle of wine. And if you know the wine isn't chilled, don't pour two full glasses and then go fetch an ice bucket. Don't bring the entrees while we're still working on our salads. Don't remove the dirty knife from my salad plate and set it back down on the table. Don't ask if we want to order dessert midway through the meal. Etc., etc. Train your staff properly, and you'll have a decent restaurant. The bar, on the other hand, is a nice quiet place to have drinks and appetizers. And the service is much better.

Went here today, 12/18/10, to celebrate after our son's graduation from UF. If you want to eat here, a word of caution.....The wait for your food isn't long....it is AGONIZINGLY LONG. The restaurant didn't seem all that busy at 2 pm on a Saturday. Our waiter had an attitude that he was doing us a huge favor by taking our order. Then, we waited and waited and waited. I guess, at least you are quite hungry by the time your food arrives. But, the food was average at best. Nothing spectacular here. Will not return. Overall, a poor value for money; and lousy experience. The shame is that it is inside a very nice Hilton. Seems management would want to upgrade the dining experience here, but they must believe they have a captive audience. Go anywhere else.....better and quicker service, and probably better food!!
