If you are going for the view, the food and the drinks, you'll be very happy. If you are going for the service, well there isn't any. We got there and there were 9 ppl, counting us. There was also a bartender, a hostess and a waitress. We had to ask for a menu, ask to place our order, ask for drink refills and ask for our bill.

Had dinner here last night, and it was amazing. This restaurant has a very romantic atmosphere, with a beautiful view right on the water. We all ordered the catch of the day which was grouper, and you get your choice of the way you want it cooked. I asked for blackened with the mango salsa, and it was delicious! Everyone enjoyed their dish, and they were very flexible with changing the sides in order to make us happy. Waiters were very friendly. Would definitely recommend this place!

2/24/14 We were there last Thursday when a singer with a guitar was performing. His singing was terrible (slightly off key) and as the evening went on, he got louder and louder. Our meal, which was probably ok, was ruined because we we had to shout at each other to be heard. A place that small should go very light on live performances. Vicki L. Annapolis, Md.

The food is excellent. I had the lobster mac and cheese and it was so good! The live music was entertaining without being too much. My only recommendation is to sit upstairs in the shade if you are dining after 5 pm. The waterfront is absolutely beautiful but if you eat down there during dinner the sun begins to go down and shines right in your face and can get a little hot.

Went by boat, not bad, a little unremarkable. Very nice beachfront setting. Great views, pleasant staff, fair to good food.

This. Place. Rocks. The service? Awesome. The drinks? Fantastic. The Food? PERFECTION. Came here with my bestie and her dad, we pulled right up to the dock and popped in for some drinks and snacks. We had the most DELICIOUS clams in this incredible garlic sauce and I got to live out my life-long dream of trying GATOR!!! I resolved that I would not go to Florida this time without doing it, and On the Edge couldn't provide me with a more exciting experience. It was so good, I wish I could go back every day!!!!

Its almost funny how hard this place is trying. They have the name of their 'executive chef' on the menu. The food is on par with an Applebees. On a bad night. Food was garbage. We ordered the shrimp and grits and prime rib. Grit cake was clearly instant grits and was ridiculously over salted to the point of being inedible. It seriously just tasted like salt. The shrimp came in two skewers, they were dry and burnt black on one side. Also not seasoned. The sauce, in addition to being gross, didn't go with the dish at all. Tasted like canned tomatoes and bbq sauce. Prime rib came out cold, and so did my dish. What a joke of a meal. You can put the name of your executive chef on the menu, try and plate your food nicely and charge way too much for it but at the end of the day, its still terrible food. Wouldn't ever go back.

    Great drink prices! Beautiful location!

A great place to sit and relax....and you should because it will be a while before you get your food. Once we got it, out food was above average but the side salads didn't come out until after we had finished our meal. We were out of drinks before the meal arrived .

So, Yum. The food was pretty darn good, but our service was excellent. There was live music and a good overall vibe. We enjoyed watching the boats returning in the afternoon. Very casual. Good rum "bucket"!

Great view and the meal was great. Service was very pleasant and attentive. I will be back.

Cool outdoor bar and grill. Great fish tacos and burgers. Nice for a sunset meal on the inlet.

I stop here often.. We started meeting here after work on Fridays last year and haven't stopped. Bartenders and servers are great. Atmosphere is terrific. once you go inside and see the view and all that this place has to offer you are going to continue returning also. Had supper there for the first time the other night and...wow..we were surprised at how delicious everything was. Definitely a must go!

  • Cosmo W.

Great vibe, great drinks and good food. Very nice and friendly staff and a great place to watch the sunset. I didn't eat a lot, but what I did have seemed fresh and good. They also have lots of TV's here to watch the games. Wish I was here longer, I would make this my regular place!

This was a GREAT place for a date! Great views, atmosphere, and Live Music on Wednesday! Only disappointment was that our particular waitperson was lackadaisical.

Nothing to write home about except for the location. It is nicely located on the inlet of Fort Pierce, which would be great for a sunset dinner.. However... Finding a parking place is a serious problem. They are no where near ADA compliant. It is very cramped, and it is really a bar, with a bar atmosphere... If you expect to be waited on within a reasonable time for dinner then do not pick On The Edge. The service lacks greatly, the pride of the chef lacks even more... Let me put it this way... The bartenders makes a better drink than the chef makes the food. Way too pricy, the portions are too small. If you are looking for a place to have a drink (yes even the drinks are a bit pricy as well) but with a nice view then you can "try" to find a parking space, and attempt to make it to the bar to get a drink. However there are far better places to eat at with superior service and quality of dishes to choose from on the Treasure Coast, and quite a few of those have similar or superior views. Anyone who is rating this higher than 2 stars is basing it on location (views) and a drink, but there is not a chance based on service or quality of food or flavors and creativity of the dishes. Chef C.

The setting is beautiful an make it worth trying. The staff isok not especially friendly or even outgoing except perhaps for the regulars but then ihould be extended to all. For anyone with difficulty walking or getting around this place does not make it any easier certinly not handicap friendly. Parking is difficult to say the least. The food was ok though both of our dinners were only warm when we finally received our order. We waited about 40 minutes for our dinner to arrive at our table I requested A1 sauce 2 times and gave up, ended up eating without it. Waitress never came back to the tabe to check on anything, never even offered refill on our drinks and no the place was not that busy when we arrived. Our table was right on the water (the edge) outside on a sandy patio area. The seatng was not particularly comfortable and no I am not a large person (5'4" and 119lb) but the maybe they don't want you to get comfortable that way they can tun the tables over quicker. Pricey menu. I have xperienced the setting which the service and food were better as I ould not mind goin back just for the setting but I won't as I can't stand to pay top price for only mediocre food and service.

An excellent spot to enjoy the view of the boats and enjoy some drinks and delicious seafood. Locals and snowbirds hang out here alike.

  • angela l.

Great views, good service if you're friendly, good food. It's tough getting a spot by the lake. Even lunch time can be crowded. Parking sucks. It's not easy getting in and out of the lot especially when cars are trying to get in. There is also a lot across the street.

Terrific view on the edge if the water. The fish is very fresh and the portion is just right! Live music also makes this a relaxing night out. One of my favorite restaurants in the area!

Great place for a casual lunch. Good food, great atmosphere, nice view and good service. Our group had fish basket, burger and shrimp. All plates were clean, we'll go back.

After a short wait on a busy night we truly appreciated the name of this establishment as we were seated right at the water's edge to enjoy out meal! It was gorgeous! Sunset and smoked fish dip - how could you go wrong? The food was great, it was getting dark and the tiki torches were lit on the sandy water's edge, and my husband was enjoying his fish so much, he even (accidentally) ate the lemon! Worth the trip and the wait!

Excellent spinach salad and Gator Bites. The view as mentioned is great and the waitress was attentive and prompt BUT it would have been helpful to have been told that 16oz drafts were on Happy Hour for $2 instead of the $3.52/ea I paid for a 12oz bottle. I heard the bartender suggest to her customer that the draft was on Happy Hour. We were told in the motel office that Happy Hour started at 4 not 2. Also the menus in our room had different prices than the current ones. More $ of course. The Gator Bites were not 7 but 10 and the salad was 10 not 9 as the room menu stated. I think that is something management would want to correct and the menu in the office was different all together with items listed not available. Still would go back but that cost a star for a very fixable problem.

  • S B.

New menu and higher prices are very disappointing. My favorite, crab cake sandwich, increased from $12 to $15. Plus, before the increase you could substitute a salad for fries, etc., at no extra charge. Now, the salad adds $1.50 to sandwich. Therefore, sandwich increased from $12 to $16.50 or a 38% increase--too expensive for lunch now.

I was going the see a show at the Sunrise Theater and wanted a nice casual place to have a bite to eat before the show and saw this place on yelp and decided to give it a try. Finding the place was tricky - drove past it twice since the trees cover the sign. Apparently it was the first day of a new menu, so things ran a little slow. Everyone was friendly. I had a burger. It was tasty but overcooked ( I ordered medium rare - got medium well ). The views are wonderful. The beer was ice cold. And the place was very clean. The major problem - and why I'm giving only 3 stars- is that the chairs are incredibly narrow. They are much more narrow than an airline seat and the backs are low. If you are larger than a size 8 - you're going to be snug. For that kinda place where you may want to sit back and enjoy a few cocktails and the view - you can't, cuz the seats are so uncomfortable. Even the bar stools. It may seem like a small thing, but if you want to be comfortable - this isn't the spot. Too bad, I wanted to like this place.

  • Doug M.

Been there twice because the location is pretty good. Wait staff is horrible, slow and just don't care, the girls would rather be chatting with fellow waitresses that to serve customers. The food would be acceptable if you were castaway on the ocean for 3 months without anything to eat. Needs new management and wait staff, lower prices or much bigger of portions.

Stopped in on our way back from spending some time on the beach and SO glad we did. Our server was super friendly and made us feel very welcome. We sat next to the water and though it was a pretty toasty day, the canopies over the tables provided much needed shade and kept it comfortable. I had been craving fish tacos and lo and behold, they were on the menu. I chose mahi mahi over the mutton snapper based on our servers recommendation and had mine blackened and was NOT disappointed. They were absolutely delicious. I was a little leary about having the Spanish rice side because I'm spoiled from living in AZ where there is some GREAT Mexican food but it had a great flavor. My husband had the grilled fish sandwhich ... he also chose mahi mahi and it too, was wonderful. He had the cajun fries as a side and I had to keep stealing some....the spices were soooo tasty! We will definitely become "regulars" in the 6 months that we're staying in the area. Can't wait to go back!

Nice outdoor bar and grill. Great view. Nice people. Tv's. Music. Fried gator crab cakes. What's not to love.

  • David W.

Been to this establishment twice and even though the prices were a bit high, I've never had a bad menu item there. I would really recommend the baked brie with crab. The drafts are especially cold and the bartender very well versed in drinkology. The view of the intercoastal is also very nice and they have live entertainment on some Friday nights. Highly recommend, but have some disposable income.

Get the fish dip/smak! We started with Kona lager on draft! Yummy in the warm weather. We sat on the deck at the corner table and enjoyed our view of the Indian River while dining. I had the Mahi Mahi fish tacos with mango salsa and avocado cream - I really enjoyed them! I had the Cajun fries as my side and those were GREAT. Boyfriend had red snapper lightly blackened fish sandwich with onions and tomatoes and its was seasoned perfectly! He enjoyed the coleslaw as well - sweet and crunchy... Our server was super sweet and very attentive. Happy hour they have $2draft beers!! We will be back to try the salted caramel cheesecake!!

  • Roger A.

Ok a solid three and a half so therefore 4 stars but only during happy hour. Ok they have decent beer on tap (yuengling and goose island) for $2 a draft. Yes! The fish was very good. Loved them all grilled. The snapper was the stand out, tasty and well seasoned. The grouper and mahi mahi were also prepared yummy. You can't beat the great water view and tiki bar atmosphere. I will definitely come back the next time I visit Fort Pierce!

Don't eat here. Seriously. The worst service I've ever received in my life. To begin, we visited this restaurant in our last visit to fort pierce in 2013. Loved it. Couldn't wait to share with our family. When we came back in 2015 the service is gone. It's not gone down. It's GONE!!!! We arrived and were told a 30 minute wait. An hour and a half later we were seated at a table too small for our family, but we survived. Then we placed our order immediately since we had been waiting so long already and had looked over the menu at least 20 times a piece. We waited 20 minutes for our food to be delivered to the table, but to my dismay my food was not delivered. 10 minutes passed and my family had already half finished their meals and still no food for myself. We tried not once, not twice, but three times to flag down the waiter to no avail. Then finally we flagged him down and he brought out my food that had been sitting in the back for 20 minutes. The food was good. That was the only thing saving this place at this point. So, we asked to speak with the manager. He came to our table and I explained everything to him and how embarrassed I was that I was excited to bring my family here in the first place. I explained our wait and my lack of food. He said he would see what he could do and walked away. He never came back to our table to apologize, explain what he had done, etc. Ten more minutes passed and the waiter came and asked if we were finished. At this point only 2 in our party of 6 were still seated. I said we were finished and he walked away. 10 more minutes passed and he finally brought our check to us. For all the horrendous service we received... My meal was free. We asked to speak with the manager again but he was rude to us. We paid, left, and will NEVER be back!!! This is your fair warning.

This review is for happy hour only! Adam and I stopped by this place after checking out the beach and I wanted to watch UNC play in the ACC tournament. Wanting to still be near the water and enjoy some drinks, we found this place and decided to stay. On The Edge has an awesome view with tables right on the sand overlooking the water. We didn't sit there since I wanted to watch the game, but it's nice that this was an option. We sat in the bar area and ordered drinks. I decided to get an order of pickle chips since I like to munch on something while I'm watching college basketball and they were pretty good, not the best I've had but definitely not the worst. Our server was nice and friendly and pretty attentive but not too much since we were really engaged in the game (which was nice of her!) I could definitely see this place as a popular happy hour spot, they have great happy hour specials that you should take advantage of on a nice day! With such a nice view and having the option to actually sit out on the sand overlooking the water, you can't go wrong for happy hour here! Just a note: On The Edge only has outdoor seating! So you might not want to go on a rainy or gross day.

  • Heatherzilla S.

Atmosphere is nice but food and drinks were not. Salmon and artichoke dip was going to go back but then we added salt and pepper which made it edible... This ended up being the best thing we had. Caesar salad had Pepperidge farm type croutons and food service dressing.. Shaved Parmesan was also preshredded. Seafood quesadillas were fishy and terrible. Service slow.

  • Beth P.

Enjoyed this place several days while out fishing. Had the spinach salad several times with blackened fish on top. Very yummy. Good burgers, and wings are spicy HOT! Great drink specials and had a straight vodka with lime and the pour was generous. Had no problem with getting a seat for lunch or dinner. We were there during the summer months two different times which is off season.

  • Joshua G.

We had a blast listening to the live music. And the setting is literally on the water edge. The place was busy but the food was still great and the bartender was very accommodating in taking our order while balancing his busy bar

  • David C.

We had 7 adult drinks and it came to $21. That is a killer deal. That said we had all of this during their happy hour which appears to be between 2 and 6. The drinks prices are great and the seating area outside is hard to beat. Great view. We just came for drinks but looking at the menu the items read pretty good and the prices seemed pretty good. A Definite stop in for drinks and we hope to try the food the next time we are in town

  • Barbara M.

We had a beautiful view and food was amazing. We had calamari for appetizer. Very good. Had fish and chip there special salad. Ruben grouper. Delicious. Would come back and very pleasant waiters.

    (5)
  • Eliza R.

Walked in for an early lunch and they asked if we wanted to sit upstairs or downstairs. I asked what is downstairs...that would be down on the sand over looking the beautiful water on a Sunday, when they have deals on Bloody Mary's and Mimosas! The service was excellent, atmosphere was perfect and we sat there for 2 hours catching up with old friends.

  • Matt C.

When my Father and I initially walked in to the place we thought we were in for a bad experience because my Dad asked about seating etc... and the waitress snapped at him... Maybe she was having a bad day. But, we stuck it out. Very nice location, right on the water. I had a bowl of the Conch Chowder and it was delicious. If you are a Conch Chowder connoisseur, than this meets the mark. I also had a yingling on tap, and that went down good with the conch chowder.

Sunday Bloody Mary special...go for the view, go for the quiet, go for the relaxation. Little hole in the wall spot that we recently discovered, on a leisurely drive home along the ocean. Yelp always helps us find these out of the way gems, when you are far from your own neck of the woods. Plan to return whenever we are back in that area.

  • Sophie D.

Ahhhh... live music, fresh seafood, beautiful views. ..this is a little piece of Florida paradise on the side of a little stretch of road in S. Hutchinson Island. Order the clam chowder and a rum bucket and just take it all in! Good vibes, good food, it's all you need.

  • Matt L.

We both had the catch of day. We both had the mahi fish blackened sandwich. The sandwiches were delicious. We came on Memorial Day and they may have needed some more help. Would have liked to seen the waitress stop by the table 1 or 2 more times then she did. She was very friendly, the staff here was very polite. Great views of the water

  • Genghis G.

Meh! Average stuff at premium price. We were just passing thru and walked here from our hotel. Drinks from bar were good and cheesecake was great. View and location are very good. Service was polite but distant.

  • Dee H.

Great little bar! Love the location! Food was good. Bar staff was welcoming and the waitress was cool. I was super glad to see that they had items I could eat since I am on a limited diet due to having Crohn's disease, so I didn't go hungry. Super Happy with this place.

  • Kelly V.

Great spot for a light app and a happy hour cocktail!! Right on the water. Coconut shrimp not breaded with sweetened coconut... The sweet chili sauce on the side made it sweet but the mango salsa made it savory. Really made it a best of both worlds which is good when sharing. The shrimp and crab quesadilla was amazing! Cheeses with Brie and caramelized onion and good amounts of crab and shrimp. Great atmosphere!

  • Yulian O.

My wife and me love this place, excellent atmosphere and live music.

    (5)
  • Brandon S.

Great location right at the inlet. Smallish indoor area - there's a band area that takes up a good portion of the "deck." One bartender was manning the entire restaurant - not sure that is a good idea. Outdoor, beachy seating in the back. Parking is definitely an issue, but there's an overflow lot about 50 yards from the entrance. Only came for a drink, but I'll be back to check out the food, etc.

  • Melanla K.

That place was great. My boyfriend started us off with the Gator bites and they were awesome. I really like the sauce with the shredded cabbage underneath the Gator. My dinner was the fried shrimp and they were phenomenal. We also had the grouper basket which we highly recommend over the grouper dinner plate because it was half the price and you still got a giant piece of grouper. The margaritas were half price $3 and that was a great special. we thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and being able to see the water.

    (5)
  • Chris T.

The food was marginal and the service was good but the kitchen was awful. We waited 45 minutes for an appetizer and the tables next to us waited 90 minutes for their entrées. For the price, I'll go elsewhere.

    (2)
  • Brian L.

Just a Fantastic Place to Eat. The food is great, the ambiance cannot be equalled. We are sitting here watching the boats go by, having a drink. This is true Florida lifestyle! Our server Christine knows our order as we walk in the door. The Conch Clower is always perfect!

  • Jai M.

This is the perfect place! On the water, nice breeze, very good service, cute tiki-style decor, great food and a full bar with tv's watching the Rose Bowl. Everything we tried was really delicious, especially the thai shrimp appetizer over cabbage. I loved the fresh catch of the day (grouper) blackened with beurre blanc sauce. The bar was fun and busy with locals but not crazy crowded. It was definitely worth the 20 mile drive we made to come hang out here.

Fun bar. Nice locals and staff, good classic rock cover band (Out on Bail), good food. Solid experience for New Years Eve.

  • Alex F.

Nice atmosphere, we sat 4 feet away from the water on sand. The food was also good, we had steak fillets. However, the service was awful! We waited 10 min before the server was at our table and we got one round of drinks and then never saw her again. We wouldn't recommend this place, especially because there are other places in the area that serve food as good for the same price. Also, they ran out of coffee

Had the Blue Crab Caprese Salad with Avocado on the side. The avocado was mushy and sour tasting. It should have been thrown out days ago! The mozzarella cheese was hard. The crab had bits of shell throughout! There were 4 thinly sliced tomatoes and a smattering of mixed greens all for14.95! When I told the waitress about the avocados and the cheese she came back and said they took off the extra charge of $2.00 for the avocados! I asked her why they did not address the cheese which was one of the mainframes of the salad and there was no audible response. My husband had a catch of the day sandwich with fries on the side. The catch of the day was Grouper. He was charged $15.95! Overall, between the "meals" and the drinks, our bill came to $49.94 (I had a $2.00 draft and he had the Rum Bucket for $10.00 plus a cup of Clam chowder for $4.00)!!! Unbelievable! Great view of the inlet horrible place to eat! Never again..,

I wish I had remembered this place earlier in my trip back to Florida!! A great little seafood jem on the river. Just had appetizers and a few $3.00 Monday margaritas but will definitely come back again to have dinner. The flavor combinations felt very thought out and not just thrown together.

  • Maggie L.

Ugh. I guess the critics don't visit on Wednesday afternoons. Terrible service. Waitress, when she managed to get to our table (it was not crowded) had to hurry away! For what? I don't know! Fish tacos has less than 3 oz fish max between both tacos. Whoopie. Good location and drinks. But sometimes you like to be waited on and have good food. Oh and ps. Would have had a 2nd drink but no one asked!! Lol. Probably better off without it anyway.

  • Janice L.

Very nice place! Right on the water. We are from out of town && I found this place on yelp && we went around 7:00pm and they were very busy. It was a weekday too. We grabbed a drink and the bar which was also very busy. They have patio seating by the bar and lower seating by the water which is amazing-- can't ask for a better view than where we were at! Very romantic and they have sand on the lower seating which was cool. The table next to us left because they waited too long for their food and were upset, however. That's the only negative I have about this place is that the server was very slow-- I asked multiple times for a water && he forgot about 5 times. I think it might have just been him because everyone else seemed happy. Great place though, we weren't in a hurry so it didn't bother us!

  • Aaron L.

Awesome spot right on the water. Had the Mahi special sandwich for $11 and a bunch of Coronas. Perfect spot to sit by the water and have a drink. As long as there's no too many people there because the table by the water are a little close together.

  • Jill S.

Came here with my aunt and uncle right before I moved down. Seems to get pretty busy so expect to wait not really a bad thing to me but some might not like. Had a great little tiki bar to sit at food was great kinda pricey but you do get large portions. The sun setting on the water was beautiful out service was great especially for how busy it was. And as I was leaving I did notice their was a lot of people my age that came for later fun and games which is good to know ( I'm 28 FYI ). Good for old young and family's. :-) hope this helped thanks for reading .

We loved this waterside restaurant.. Although we didn't have reservations, we didn't wait long to be seated for a Valentine's Day lunch. Beautiful view. Great food. I had the Seared sushi-grade tuna. It was a starter but was plenty for me for lunch along with a glass of white wine. My husband had blackened Mahi-Mahi and was equally pleased. There is a lot of nice outside seating too! Our server, David, was EXCELLENT!

Good gator bites and dolphin tacos. Band is really close to dining area so carrying on a conversation can be a challenge.

  • LJ B.

Jambalaya was too salty and not worth the $18.00+ price. Chowder was also salty and loaded with flour lumps used for thickening. Great atmosphere , stellar views, and super place for happy hour cocktails, but food was disappointing.

What other yelpers have said rings true. The atmosphere, prices, service and closeness to the inlet make this a great lunch spot on the island in Ft Pierce. Lots of energy and life abound. I've had the crunchy snapper sandwich and the mahi sandwich. Both were satisfying, large, and delicious. The Cajun fries should not be missed. Careful, though when sitting outside. Being downwind from heavy smokers could be a buzzkill. Here in the south heavy tobacco inhalers still abound. Must be their payback for losing the war of northern aggression. We moved upwind and all was fine. The 3 buck margaritas refresh though seem a tad weak booze wise. Parking can be a challenge.

Great food, happy hour when it rains, and a beautiful view of the jetty, especially at sunset. You never know when a dolphin or manatee is going to swim up to you and check you out.

I have been here twice now. Great food both times. And you just can not beat the location. The restaurant is on the north end of Hutchinson Island, right on the Ft. Pierce inlet. Warm tropical breezes, beautiful water, good food...what else could you ask for?

This was a great stop for us on our drive up the coast. The restaurant had a small parking lot but they already had parking available next door. We were greeted by someone immediately and the server even went to check out around the corner to see if any tables in the sun were available. He took our drink order right away and helped us with a few beer selections we hadn't heard of. I ordered the conch soup and it was delicious. Service was very quick. Both our entrees came fairly quickly and he checked back often. It was a relaxing day right next to the water with nothing to complain about. We would definitely come back again!

would it kill you to put a fair amount of food on the plate?? charge what you want but the perceived value is terrible. people want value and are not afraid to pay for it. so you make a few cents less. you should want your customers to feel happy, satisfied and well fed. not ripped off!! just saying!

Get a table water front! The lobster mac and cheese was the best mac and cheese we have ever eaten. The calamari was awesome. Fried shrimp were crispy and delicious. Cole slaw was amazing. You cannot go wrong here. Try to rum bucket too!

We were there for an early dinner - around 5pm - and were able to get a table in the shade adjacent to the water. View is great and is why there are 3 stars instead of one. Had the fish dip appetizer - $11 - that was flavorless and a very small portion. Then I had the crunchy snapper sandwich - $12. The sandwich had lettuce, tomato, and onion - no tartar sauce or any type of sauce other than the small plastic cup of ketchup for the fries. What restaurant serves a fried fish sandwich dry? Portion of fish was very small. Wife had a bowl of conch chowder. Not bad but had a lot of very large pieces of tomato. She ordered a side salad and I commented to her that it was a nice size side salad - until I got the bill. The bill was for a $10 house salad! Oh well. Service was okay, nothing special. If not for the view ....

I visit my Dad a few times a year from Denver and love to come to this restaurant. The view and setting on the water, under a thatched roof, with open air , epitomize the FL dining experience for me. The food is priced higher than most in this part of FL, but the quality is good and the setting and service have made up for it. I get the, location, location, location "thing." I dined there today, April 27th. Walked in to Steel Drum live music and was feeling great. The food was still good, albeit my fish bite appetizer portion was smaller this time. I saw familiar staff who were friendly. Sadly, our young, blonde waitress, with her aviator sunglasses was not familiar, nor was she very friendly. Any polite request we made with a please or thank-you appeared too much. She was not busy or rushed & service was slow and we were not made to feel welcome. I was disappointed & it really ruined our dining experience. Had this been my 1st time at On the Edge, I would not be returning. I know they are better than this so I will try again. I caution the owner/manager to be watchful of this server. Having worked in the industry for 18 years in my youth, I know service matters. I am giving today's experience 3 stars. I hope the next time I in town it is my usual 5 star experience.

Food was good but so overpriced it was silly. Tip: don't do like I did and order the fish sandwich at "market price" without asking what that price is. Outside of Manhattan I've never paid $17, yes seventeen dollars, for a sandwich before. Yes, it was good but stil.... My wife ordered the spinach salad for $9, and altho good, it was skimpy to say the least. Beer and wine was reasonable so next time, if there is one, have a drink and enjoy the wonderful view that other reviewers have raved about, and eat elsewhere.
