Pinho's is near my office so my co-workers and I have eaten breakfast and lunch here many, many times. While there is a wide variety of restaurants in the area, Pinho's is the best deli, no doubt. The prices are reasonable, the service friendly and quick, and the sandwiches are big and tasty. It's my go-to, standard, not-sure-what-I-want-today-so-pick-Pinho's default. Like Times New Roman 12pt or "use Recommended settings?", going to Pinho's is a no brainer. If you are a man or eat like a man, or maybe a bear or bear-dog-man, then this is the deli for you. Pinho's also has salads, which I'm sure are good, too, but I don't eat salads.

My 401st review and I'm happy to give it to Pinho's. I frequently order my subs from Publix or LaSpada's, but now they have some competition. They are on vacation right now, and I am craving their subs so much. Their subs are huge, and at a great price. Small cold subs are $5.50 and their large subs are $8.50 (guaranteed two meals for the large sub). They use Boar's head meats and freshly baked bread. Their ingredients are always fresh and really generous. I can't say enough about how great, fresh and filling their subs are. They also sell breakfast, breads, empanadas, cakes and pastries.

After reading the reviews I thought I'd stop in and check them out for some croissants to make sandwiches for a road trip the next day. They must do good business because when I came in nearly everything was gone. Thankfully they had two croissants left and that was what I needed. Now I can't comment about much else, but these croissants ($1 each) were huge disks of buttery flakiness; each roughly larger than my palm. They were delicious and made for a delectable base to our turkey, avocado, sprouts and mayo sandwiches (plus provolone on mine). When I walked in, it was about 10 minutes to 3 on a Saturday afternoon and was told they would be closing shortly. I'm not sure if this was for the day or just for the afternoon and they'd reopen later. The place was clean with a simple yet homey feel and layout. I'll be back again for more croissants and hopefully to try some other goodies.

There's 20 mins of my life I will never get back after reading the great reviews I decided to give it a try really off the beaten path in a run down part of town finally found it only to be told they had no HAM come on that's a basic for a deli NO HAM

Always fresh Portuguese goodies. The best are the shrimp & crab empanadas as well as the cod croquettes. They go fast though so try to go as early as possible. Sandwiches are good. The pastries are excellent.

We work in a storefront shopping center in the neighborhood and order from Pinhos frequently. Having tried many of the different eateries in the neighborhood, I have found this place to be the best. Ingredients are fresh, portions are more than generous. Most menu items are big enough to be shared. The salads are big enough to share, or split between two meals. The chocolate chip cookies (if you like chocolate) are to die for!

This is the third time I've been in and they are out once again of what I wanted. The first time I asked if they had wheat bread no they didn't. What about muenster cheese they didn't have that either like really who doesn't stock up on stuff. I went in a couple days ago to see if I changed my mind on the place they did have the stuff so I got my sub/wrap and it was good. Well now I go in and they don't have the turkey. Like really this is ridiculous I don't think ill come back I don't care how good that sub was. I won't come back! Don't waste your time here.

Food was awesome. Super fresh and clean place. Will for sure be back!! Only reason a 4 star, they were out of alot of things. Meats, cheese, bakery stuff. But once again the food we did finally decide on was awesome.

Well established bakery/ sub shop right between uptown and downtown on Andrews. I think you can actually see both (modest) skylines, one of the few spots that you can. I've been going here for a while now and seen the renovations and expansions. It meets all my qualifications of local, authentic with value. The pastries are huge and rich. The salads are fresh and big and the subs are the best this side of Laspadas! The owners are friendly and with all of BSO in all the time, there will never be a stickup here!

While visiting from Virginia, I looked up sub shop in Fort Lauderdale. One 5 star was on the beach - too far. I found Pinho's on Andrews Ave. Glad I did. The subs were great, especially on the baquette roll. Went back twice for lunch and even stopped to get lunch for the drive back.

This is my new regular date spot with my Husband on our busy office Wednesdays. We usually get a large pastrami sub for $7.95. Two people eating and being full for $4 bucks each?? Awesome! The owner is so down to earth, and will always chat with his customers.

My regular lunch stop; best sandwich in Oakland Park. Less than a mile from the office so I've become a regular. So much so that if you want your lunch special with two cookies instead of chips and a drink, ask for the "Owen combo." Exceptionally friendly, Jimmy runs a great shop, and they're set to expand their seating area next year. Also, criminals and arsonists beware, BSO and the Fire Dept frequent at lunch.

A small operation bakery and deli that is worth stopping in any time. I popped in the other day, mostly as it is very close to where I start my day. I didn't know what to expect as I walked in. The interior is stark. A very simple layout that almost seemed that they were at the "soft open" stage. I felt blessed in a way, as most people can end up judging a restaurant by its cover, and this place was so much more. As there was really only one other customer at the time i arrived, I got to my ordering within minutes. I got a few croissants and a mix of empanadas for the office. Being greedy I had one of each. Very good on both accounts. The empanada was a spinach. Tasty and crispy, it was all that I could want. I got the cigar croissant as well. It was very good too, with a nice array of sweetness and almonds scattered across the top. I would recommend popping in here soon, before the word gets out and you have to wait far longer in line!

I decided to give this place a try as it's right down the street and I love finding new places around the neighborhood to try. It's located next to a BP station and parking is in the rear so parking might be tricky during busier times. When I walked in I was greeted immediately and everyone was super friendly. They were nice, helpful, and it seemed like they knew so many of the patrons by name. It was great. I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki sandwich because they were out of steak and it was pretty damn tasty! I'll have to go back to try the philly cheese next time. My wife also enjoyed her sandwich and she also would order from the place again. We ordered some chicken empanadas as sides and they were tasty. :) Everything tastes fresh here and they do run out of meats depending on the time of day which is a good thing because that really does mean things are fresh and not sitting around overnight. Definitely give this place a try!

I've been coming here now for the last 5 years, and consistently fabulous. Came back here 2 days in a row, with my 'crew' of 8 from work. order the big fresh baked cookies, custard cups, fresh semolina rolls, and seafood croquettes early, they go quick!!!! by mid afternoon, all my fav treats are gone!!! Finally did the review adn added pics.

This place is amazing! Everything is so fresh and delicious. A long established, family owned and operated business that brings back the meaning of business in America. I love going to places like this rather than the "mills" that pump out preservative laden foods. The Pinho's are nice and welcoming when you walk in. Smiles everywhere - and they make a heck of a baked good! The danish and crossaints are especially tasty. Great job!

I had the best steak and cheese sandwich at Pincho's yesterday. It was heaven in my mouth. The melted in my mouth, and the steak seasoned to perfection. I'm going back to try more.

Pinho's is somewhat near my office and I'm always looking for a good sub shop, so based on Yelp recommendations I stopped in around 12:30pm to grab a sandwich. There were only a few customers in there, some sitting at the tables eating and one in front of me ordering at the counter, and they greeted me quickly and asked what I wanted? I asked for the Peppercorn Turkey sub and they said "we're out of it, unfortunately, but you can get the cajun or oven gold. I asked for the cajun, the guy said good choice, and a lady behind the counter made my sub as requested. Later when I got back to the office I was disappointed to find out she gave me the oven gold instead of the cajun turkey I asked for! Damn! It was still good...I love Boar's head meat, but I wanted something a little different than regular deli turkey. Ah well...pluses: nice people, decent prices: 12" sub for $7.50, speedy service. I was in and out of there in less than 5 minutes (checked my watch). That alone warrants another visit. I didn't bother with the stuff in the display cases because it looked like all pastries, which I wasn't in the mood for, but reading another review, "seafood croquettes" sound awesome. Might have to look for that on my next visit...

I feel a little bad that it's taken me so long to give Pinho's the review it deserves, because I have been enjoying this place for awhile now. I think it's more than time to spread the word! This slightly hidden gem has some of the best subs I've had in the area, and I love a good sub, so you'll have to trust me on this one. Pinho's makes the usual Boar's Head deli subs, but don't think they're your average sub. The subs are generous and overstuffed, made to order, and the prices are more than reasonable. A 6" sub is more than enough for my lunch, but I always get the 12" and save the rest for another delicious lunch the next day. They offer hot subs and sandwiches too, but I haven't tried one of those, since I think they only make them on weekdays and I always visit on Saturdays. Try the sweet peppers, I love getting a little order of those to go with my sandwich. Finally, the staff is great, and have remembered us (even our order!) from our first visit, which makes you feel welcome. The place itself is very clean and looks great. The thing that gives Pinho's the edge for me over comparable places like La Spada's is the bakery section. They recently expanded into the space next door and now have a deli counter and an even bigger bakery section. Like others have mentioned, they have some good savory stuff here too, like empanadas, croquettes, and seafood cakes (the best). But if you have a sweet tooth, you're in for a treat. They have all sorts of baked goods from cookies to cakes to breads, and each one I've tried has been better than the last. Love their double chocolate chip and oatmeal cookies, fudge brownies, raspberry bars, custard cups...I could go on and on. Everything tastes like homemade. My absolute favorite has to be the little apricot tarts they make on occasion. I've never had anything like them, they're sooo good. I just wish they made them more often. (Most of the baked goods go pretty quickly, so go early for a better selection.) If you go, give them a try - just leave some for me! So, if you're in need of a darn good sub and some sweet treats, definitely check this one out.

I want to start off by saying I'm a Sub sandwich connoisseur. I've tasted great ones, not so great ones, and those delectable enough to make you forfeit your first born. Pinho's makes me consider using my child (if I had one) as a trade for Boar's Head meat, and freshly sliced provolone cheese. First off, this place has stellar service. The employees are helpful, cordial and precise, not to mention they LOAD your sandwich with the necessary ingredients to make your mouth tingle. I ordered 7 sandwiches during lunch for my coworkers, and everything was made perfectly. I had a fresh seafood salad sandwich, chock full of crab meat, shrimp, mayo and all the trimmings. Great place!

I went to Pinho's on the recommendation of a great Yelper. I arrived at 12:30 on a Wednesday and found the display cases practically empty. The reason why I'm giving this place only three stars. I ordered a turkey sandwich with muenster cheese and it was great. Much better than I expected. The Boar's Head ingredients guaranteed it would be good, but the bread made it even better. As I was walking out, I ordered the last four custard cups and the last four chocolate chip cookies to share with my colleagues at the office. The custard cups were amazing. The cookies were not that great and a little greasy. Maybe it was an off day, maybe it was the wrong time of day, but I'm willing to go to Pinho's again and try some of the items others have raved about...if they have them when I get there. The review will change accordingly.
