So let's just say that everything was perfect. Make sure you plan ahead to come here because they get booked with reservations. I called the same day to get a reservation for our party of 5. At this place, getting a table before 8:00 without a reservation seems almost unheard of, but the hostess was exceptional in trying to finagle the tables around in order to make sure we could get seated on our last night of vacation. I couldn't believe how committed she was to getting us seated. We got our table. The service was exceptional and so was everything we got. Everything had an amazing flavor and was cooked to perfection. I am not a huge seafood lover, but the snapper and shrimp I got were absolutely amazing. Would definitely be back! Save room for the bread to dip up all the sauce!!
Reservations absolutely! This is one of the most popular and best restaurants on Amelia Island. We almost didn't get a table but there was a last minute no show so we got the last outdoor table for two. The tapas selections we made after suggestions from a very helpful waiter were delicious! Try the ceviche made with red snapper- awesome and fresh and served in lettuce bowl. The empanadas were served hot and very good. We had a shrimp dish made with a red coconut curry sauce that was outstandingly good. If you like flan you will like theirs. Good service. Good time!
My sister and I went to Amelia Island for a beach get away we were looking for a seafood restaurant, but ended up having the best seafood stew ever at a Spanish restaurant. It was spicy, but had the most flavor. I forgot my sweater on the way out. Since I was leaving the next day, I called and asked if they could possibly mail it to me. A big thanks to Marina for sending it back my way. Great food, great service!! We'll go back on our next visit!!!

Still great food however the menu could use some changes and a slightly bigger menu. Crab dip was awesome. My scallops were great. The braised pork belly could use some help. I think I'd prefer risotto over the cheese grits that came with the Scallops & Braised Pork Belly over Grits dish. My husbands fish dish of the day was wonderful and the Peach Bread Pudding was to die for. Waiter was great. Each trip once to twice a year we go the Bretts Waterway restaurant. The typical bill for the two of us is about $200 and includes a drink and appetizer before dinner, dinner with a bottle of wine and dessert. I still miss the Veal with Cherries and Pine Nuts. Please bring this back next year! What an exceptional dish this is.
My friend and I enjoyed a lovely lunch here yesterday. We started off with the fried green tomatoes. My friend had never eaten fried green tomatoes but I had and these were some of the best I've eaten. They were battered instead of breaded and it was not a heavy batter; it was light and nicely seasoned. For lunch I ordered the fried calamari salad and she ordered the fish and chips special which was grouper. The fried calamari rings were cooked to perfection! Best I have ever eaten! They had the same batter as the fried green tomatoes which made them so light and tasty. The salad had a Thai peanut sauce poured over top of the calamari which was incredible with great flavor! The fish and chips lunch was nice too. The fish was lightly breaded so you could actually taste the fish and not just breading and the fish was cooked just right. You cannot beat the view at this restaurant. It seems that no matter where you sit you will have a view of the water or the marina.
I came here on a Monday night with a large group of twelve people. They accommodated us quickly for such a large group. We were seated in a large back room with a view of the bay. Service was prompt and attentive, our water glasses were never empty, and we were brought anything we asked for very quickly. I got a chance to try the salmon off of someone else in my party's plate; it was delicious and I don't even like seafood. So now you may wonder, well, why are there only three stars? I would give 3.5 if possible, and here's why. I ordered the beef tips and so did my boyfriend. While the sauce, onions, mushrooms, and pasta were wonderful, the beef was not. Many pieces were easily chewable, some melted in your mouth, but 4 of the beef chunks on my plate were fat. Pure fat. Many on my boyfriend's plate were as well. I'm not sure of your beef eating preferences, but I cannot power chew through or swallow fatty meat. So after a pretty exceptional experience, chunk after chunk of meat came up tough and fatty and I had to spit them out. Not so good. I also tried green beans off another family member's plate, which were too crunchy in my opinion. I also felt that for a seafood place, the seafood section of the menu was fairly lackluster. There was a whole lot of shrimp and then some pretty basic fish options, nothing special. Sorry for the novel, folks. Overall, a pretty good experience. The service was wonderful, my food and many others' was delicious, but I was just unhappy with fatty meat, crunchy green beans, and other small details that slowly helped this restaurant to slide down the slope from a 4.5 to a 3.5. If I was from the area, I'd probably come back to give them a second shot.
