This place is so "dam" delicious! I don't even like to eat meat a lot, but the ribs and chicken were totally worthwhile. The portions could have fed five of me, despite the already low price. I loved the peach bread pudding.

Maybe our 4th or 5th visit. Sampled the Rib Sandwich today. Great rub on ribs, fall off the bone tender, liked the garlic butter on the toasted bun. Potato salad so good you may want to smack your mama ! Baked beans good a little too sweet, slaw is really good. Ask for some of the hot BBQ sauce and mix with the mustard sauce.really good ! All of the sauces are good.but this combo on the ribs.very good. Iced tea is on point. In past visits the pulled pork, and chicken are also very good. Limited days and hours so check their day/hours of operation out ahead of time. Sundays they have live Bluegrass music Good Florida BBQ

Last year I after riding through the Ocala Forest, we came across this BBQ stop on the side of the road. We came bake this year and were lucky enough that it was the last stop of our poker run stop. Place is awesome. I ordered the pull pork sandwich and it was as delicious this year as it was the first time. Highly recommend that if you're in the area stop and give these folks a try.

1/2 slab ribs feeds 2 hungry people easily. Mac and cheese needed some barbecue sauce to help it-bland otherwise. Live music in the "barn" out back on Sundays from 1-5. Reasonable prices. Worth the drive for the music, ambiance and people watching.

The pulled pork had a good taste but the sides were not that good. Both the inside and outside tables were filthy. Staff were not very friendly.

The Good: Thick tender baby-backs. Just the right amount of smoke. Lot of meat for the money. The Bad: Super-thin watery BBQ sauce. You get a small sample for each side. The Ugly: Atmosphere is not at all welcoming. I don't go to a BBQ place to be assaulted by political propaganda everywhere I turn.

Well, coming back from our bad experience from Alexander Springs, we decided to hit up this place. The pulled pork was delicious! The ribs we're all right. And the sauces they have are good. The prices were decent. The downer: $0.50 for a refill.

Haven't been to the Dam Smoker in years! But finally was able to make it back with a friend last week. The pulled pork sandwich is perfectly cooked, and was delicious. You've got to try their cole slaw too

I ended up in the area on a work trip and my boss suggested we try some local cuisine. I love BBQ and like to shy away from chains so I quickly agreed. I got the Thursday pulled pork sandwich special...$4.95, included one side and a drink. I would have paid more if I got my lunch at Wendy's. I opted for the mac and cheese and the house special iced tea. My boss went with the rib dinner, collard greens, and cole slaw. Pulled pork was incredibly tender, falling apart in my mouth, served with a uniquely savory and smoky sauce. I couldn't get enough of it. The ribs were also very good and flavorful. Mac and cheese was good, but the stand-out side was the collard greens. Flavorful and light, without being bitter. I wish they had more side offerings or appetizers. I also wish I had enough room to try the bread pudding!

Not so impressed. Not at all. I have been doing the drive down hwy 19 quite a bit over the last 6-8 months and love trying new BBQ joints. This one looked pretty good on the outside, but the food that is produced from within wasn't. I believe the best thing about the place was spotting an 8 foot gator in the over grown reeds and water right next to the parking lot!! Their mac and cheese was way to to pastey with a hard top (as if it had been sitting for awhile) the baked beans had been dumped straight from a can and the pulled pork tasted more like Manwich or just some bad sloppy joes. No french fries and no fried okra. WHAT?? No potatoes at all in fact! I think I got offered potato chips, but can't remember since I was in a state of shock over no mashed, baked or fried potatoes. I guess I expect a litle more heart and soul in my BBQ than what I found here. And I'm no snob, Just not my kinda place. They now take cards (not just at the ATM machine). FYI - there's another BBQ place further north who's name escaped me. Don't expect much more from them either. All in all, disappointed. BUT we should all still continue to eat, drink and be merry, not matter what! Cheers! Tiphanie

Pulled pork isn't great , it looks like the shred it with a machine , which gives it the texture of sloppy joes, I still will be back for the ribs , chicken and peach bread pudding

They lose a star because they "don't take debit cards", but they somehow DO let you use it as an ATM card. Of course the privilege costs you an ATM fee and whatever your bank charges you to use someone else's ATM.

I had the pulled pork my wife has the chicken and rice. The pork alone did not have that normal smoked flavor but was tender. the BBQ sauce however, was very good. Baked beans were also good. The chicken and rice on the other hand was excellent, lots of flavor. Just remember they don't take credit cards except as an AMT Debit card.

The Dam Smoker is our location for "Sunday Family Dinner". We have been going there every Sunday night for about a year. The laid back atmosphere paves the way for the comfort food they provide. The ribs fall off the bone, but my favorite item is the chicken. Hands down, they have the best homemade macaroni and cheese! They remodeled the restaurant to accommodate take out orders more efficiently as well. If you haven't been there yet, I definitely recommend that you go!
