This place is great! Amazing view of the bay and a nice cool breeze (a bit turbulent but hey, we just dodged a hurricane). Had the blackened grouper for my main course and it was delicious. I recommend going all in w/ the bacon on top. The onion rings were also off the hook good. Had the peel and eat shrimp, they were tasty and well seasoned. Would definitely come back here again. Only note (and super minor) is that they need a bucket of rocks on the table to hold down the paper boats once you chow through your food. Excellent.

If you are looking for the best Florida tiki bar .... Look no further!!! Stump pass offers the best food anywhere in the state. The grouper is fresh and full of flavor. The land sharks are ice cold and the views are amazing, second only to the awesome staff working this awesome hidden gem. Check them out!!! Always live music playing. And great food.... Local tip: make sure you try their home made gumbo. And save room for key lime pie!

Stump pass grille is a cool little tiki bar with one hell of an amazing view of the bay! So what's the excuse NOT to grab a beer or a glass a wine here. NOTE: I only mentioned beer and wine! For you who drink something else in the adult beverage world, sorry your out of luck here! I too was bummed out to hear such sad news! I did try the Gumbo here and I do admit it did kick some ass and had just enough kick to it (I'd come back again to have another bowl) as far as the rest of their menu goes, it's very limited for sure. For land lovers there's not many options at all, sorry guys! I'll be back for Gumbo and watch the view if nothing else! If I crave a drink other than beer, I'll have to go elsewhere (very very close nearby) it's always 5 o clock somewhere as well as a happy hour!

food was really good and they were able to accommodate such a large party very fast (20). They ran out of the beer we were drinking, so if your looking for Corona probably not the best place. We are a pretty loud intimidating group but the waitress seemed annoyed. she definitely served us in a timely manner I just felt uncomfortable asking her for stuff. Overall It is a great place to eat and the food was good. would have been nice if the owners would have said hi while spending that kinda money.

One of our favorites when we are in Placida. Great view, tied to the small marina. The best chicken wings by far. Would like Sat music to start earlier.

We had a satisfying lunch here. The ambiance set the tone, being right on the water, adjacent to a marina. Parking area was full, thus we needed to park on the street. No biggie. Seating is at picnic tables, under a large thatched palapa, with fantastic breezes coming off the water. Service was a bit slow, but I've been told to get used to it (just not what I'm used to.) beer is served in plastic cups. Food was what you expect: we all had fried grouper bites with fries and coleslaw. Other menu options were bar fare as well. I would probably rate this place 3.5, but since that is not an option, I'll round up to 4 stars, as I will surely come back again.

Stopped by for lunch with Family, the pulled pork sandwich was so so nothing special but eating under the Tiki hut was fun with nice views of the waterway.

Stump Pass Grille located within Stump Pass Marina is a beer and wine only establishment with a rather limited munchy and comfort food offering of chicken wings, burgers and the like; certainly nothing special or of any particular quality. So, for food, you can forget that and as for drinks, it's pretty much an out of the bottle, the can or from the tap arrangement. The plus side is its location within the Stump Pass Marina and the general ambiance of being in a clean, well operated tiki hut arrangement near the water with the attraction of seeing the catch of the local fisherman along with the feeding of fish scrapes to the pelicans and other local feathered friends. So, though it has a very nice on the water marina setting, I've certainly had a lot better food and have been too many superior water front locations.

Have stopped in 3-4 times and the SERVICE is exceptional.....Super Friendly and helpful from the Owner and all the waitresses and waiters.......that plus an EXCEPTIONAL VIEW make this well worthwhile ANY Sunny Day as the SUNSETS are AMAZING! The reason for only 3 stars is simply the very limited menu choices.....as you better like french fries....as no baked potato or any other side option than cole slaw......plus only 1 dessert.....(Key Lime Pie)....which they boast about being your only choice????........YES, The setting & view sells itself and the Manager & team are exceptional........But, take a look at the menu online if you are expecting a lot of choices and visit accordingly.

Relaxing chilaxin' and maxin' out cool I was looking to enjoy a drink out by the pool, but instead we went to Stump Pass to enjoy the view of the bay, the pelicans, and the sunshine at this tiki-esk bar restaurant. We went early so grabbing a table wasn't a problem, though we weren't able to snag a seat right on the water. I went for a "sangria" and fish 'n chips. The sangria wasn't so hot, yet it was refreshing. I would have preferred a stronger drink with fruit mixed in it instead of the couple of wedges on the top. The fish was alright, but I would have preferred a more generous fish to batter ratio as there seemed to be very little fish and a decent amount of batter. The fries were nothing to write home about and, of course, eating anything that comes in a paper basket with the wind whipping up across the table usually ends with food on the ground. Truly, the selling point of this establishment is the opportunity to have dinner outside while in a beautiful setting. If the food and drink is improved, this place will be a home run.

I and my family watched a Employee of this restaurant Badger another Customer today, Oct 13 2013 The elderly customer never argued with this out of control Harbor Dock Guy, and I could tell Elderly Man and his Son never did any thing wrong, except walk in... They arrived by Jet Ski and the Dock Guy apparently does NOT like Jet Ski Customers... My feeling is/was who will this Owner Not like Next...Me? So, Caution, there are some serious RED-NECKD here, looking for a Fight, NOT a Family environment at all...I will NEVER go back, and the food is soaked in Greece...Yuk we could not eat more than a few Bites

Stump Pass Grille (they spell it with an "e" on the end) is on the Intercoastal Waterway adjacent to pleasure boat docs and a couple of large boat storage buildings. It's a few blocks west of Placida Rd. The "building" is a "palapa"-type affair, open sides with palm-thatched roof that rests on a fairly large concrete slab. One row of the tables (picnic tables) is at the water's edge but those fill first. While we were there numerous boats and personal watercraft passed by and several large waterfowl waded in the water very close to the shore. Clientele dresses very casually, with several ladies in swimsuits. Atmosphere is probably 4-star. You can check the menu at their website. The beer selection seemed more varied than the food. We had their "specialty" fish and chips, which was 2-star. Service was pretty good and the manager strolled by to ask if we were satisfied. They allow smoking and there were several cigarette smokers in attendance when we had dinner. We probably won't return, but if you're looking for a place to have a drink or two, this might be right for you, unless the smoke bothers you. They have entertainment some nights, which might also be an attraction. Check the calendar at their website.

Basic menu but all the food is great. Peel and eat shrimp, bbq sandwich, grouper fingers...Beautiful water view under a tiki hut and good live entertainment on weekends. One of my faves!

Great spot on the water, wings very good, grouper any way great, beer cold. A fun causual place. Was once a little better when they had the Chicago Bears stuff up.

Stump Pass is fine for what it is. A very casual, picnic table, bar food, kind-of-place. Nothing fancy, good beer on draft (served in plastic cups). Right on the water, you can sit and watch the boats come and go all day. Service was good. You can bring your dog. The parking was a bit of an issue.

Very cool setting. Eat under a huge tiki hut or a smaller tiki hut overlooking the water. We were thrilled to hear about this place. The menu isn't extensive, but it's casual, tasty food. The fish dip was a special the day we were there and we loved it. It was a generous portion and we couldn't finish it, which is rare for us. We also enjoyed the grouper bites and peel and eat shrimp. We'll be back!
