Ate there this evening. Very good fish and chips. Our server, Kay, was extreme friendly and helpful. The only thing I was disappointed about, is that they don't have margaritas. They only have a license for beer and wine. Will go back!

We ate at Cafe 776 this evening. The food was awesome. The portions were huge. The best part was the staff. Our waitress was amazing. So attentive and friendly. I do not remember her name, but she called my husband the "chicken man", so from the chicken man and his family, get down to 776. They are awesome.

Not so much. Tired strip mall joint...pretty run down. Food is just OK....large portions. If you want blackened Tuna...stress very strongly that you don't want it cooked through...I did and it still was overcooked. Did not have rice? There have to be better choices in the area.

Wow! The BEST & Freshest seafood and burgers. When you've had the BEST- why try the rest? LOVE the clam strip basket with cole slaw and fries. A bang for your buck with HUGE portions!! Something for everybody on the menu whether it be fresh or fried. Every time we try a different place on the Gulf Beaches, Venice, Sarasota, Port Charlotte, etc. We REGRET not coming to Cafe 776. Love they do take out. Glad they opened a sister restaurant on Placida Road!

5 stars for the Grouper Sandwich! 2 for ambiance. 4 for radio station. 0 for outside dining (none) 3 for price, service. Small hole in the wall on 776. Has an outdoor patio facing the street, drinks only. Very casual. Bare bones local eatery with great seafood. (...don't tell the tourists)

Visited friends in Englewood and they suggested this cafe for a good local place. It was good and it was local. Big portions, I had Shrimp and Chips, the breading was light and the shrimp were huge. Great prices, nice atmosphere.

Ate here for the first time tonight. Service is fantastic. Decor is not fancy but is Florida of old. Will definitely return. Portions are big and cost is reasonable.

Visiting from CA and was taken here for dinner - had the coconut shirmp and they were huge, tasty and had a killer citrus dipping sauce. My mom had the fish and shrimp basket and it was delicious too. You definately won't go away hungry at this place. I would highly recommend it for fresh seafood!

Absolute hole-in-the-wall dump which remains in business because the food is so good. Service isn't bad and quantities are large--we always order the "baskets" and take home a "doggie box". I like the battered fish or chicken and chips and my wife loves the clam strips and chips. Most of the entrees are between $9 and $17--check their menu at their website.

Well the secret is out!!! Darn, didn't want everybody to find out about this great little place!! The grouper sandwich is enough for 2 and was perfect. My hubby loves the shrimp, my friend had a stuffed grouper dinner that was excellent! Service is fast, we love the coleslaw and servers are very friendly. Go, but keep it to yourself!!!

Cafe 776 in my opinion, as I am the crazy ass person writing, is the one reason to come to Englewood. This place is beyond special. I was a lonely woman working out of town and strolled in here one Friday night. I tried to go every Friday night after that. The food is outdamnstanding! The portions sizes are insane for the freshest fish you will ever have. These people were good to me and I will forever be grateful.

This place has great food and great prices. It's such an enormous amount of food. I usually get the burger and fries. I eat the fries and take the burger home. Enough for two meals! So casual you can stop in on the way home from the beach. Would recommend!

Go hungry! That's the best advice I can give. A real hole in the wall so don't expect anything fancy. The fried fish and shrimp are dome perfect. Extra large portions on all the dishes.

Their burgers are HUGE, juicy & unforgettable. I think they'll comp your meal if you order the double cheeseburger & finish the whole thing in one sitting.. I've never seen anyone do it.

My family has been getting grouper sandwiches from Cafe 776 for years. Last year, I went in to order a grouper sandwich and the waitress advised me that it was not grouper, that they hadn't been using grouper for a few years. The fish sandwich I got was fine, but it is still misleading to have a grouper sandwich on the menu when it is, in fact, NOT grouper.

The staff here is friendly and it's a very pleasant atmosphere. It's casual and clean. To say the the portions are large is a massive understatement. I could only eat about 25% of my burger....it had to weigh at least a pound. See our pics! And ohhhh, the fish platters are HUGE! The food is very high quality and the prices are amazing. This is our new favorite place to grab a quick meal and particularly to get fish. Since moving to Florida we've been looking for a good place to find seafood, and I guarantee you this is it. I love this place!

Ate lunch here, had the Ultimate Seafood Combo. Was pretty darn good. Cod, shrimp, and scallops. Fries. Friendly waitress. Just kind of an old fish/sandwich place. VERY casual. Old decor.

We went speaking this place based on their Yelp rating. When we pulled up and saw the outside, we almost didn't go in. What a hole in the wall. But we decided to give it a try anyway. Boy are we glad we did. I had the fried fish and shrimp lunch special. Absolutely perfect. The fish was flakey and delicious. My wife got a cheeseburger. Holy smokes. It was huge and fantastic. The prices are great and the service super. We will definitely be going back.
