It was my mother-in-laws birthday & she wanted to celebrate her special day in a place with live music and space enough for large parties. We were a party of 12 Cubans & Colombians ready to eat & dance the afternoon away. At the beginning the service was great, the servers were on top of us but as the restaurant got fuller they kept forgetting about us. The food was OK not bad but nothing to say I must come back. The live band was great, they were very interactive & kept the crowd going. All in all we had a great time.

My friends and I were looking for a Latin restaurant to eat in the Doral area after a birthday party and driving around we came across this restaurant. The ambiance was very inviting as well as the smiles we came across before being seated. Our server came and took our order of drinks as we were getting ourselves used to the menu. After a few minutes we placed our orders and started being silly to wast time and to try forget how hungry we were. Well, that is when our experience started to go down hill. It took them more than half an hour to come back and inform that two of our selected dishes did not have the meat chosen, and they wanted us to choose another meat so they could finish the plate, as the server said "it was ready only missing our new choice". One of us chose to keep the same plate and add more of the same meet, and the other changed her plate. The food took so long to be served, it came in istallments, and my friend's husband was the last one to be served after we were almost done with our food. A great mess! The food was good, but their lack of organization was scary, because the place was empty, there were a couple other groups but nothing that justified such delay. We also had another inconvenient issue with the bill, the menu stated a price and the bill came with another one. The waitress tryied to attribute the change to taxes, but she was not able to explain why were we being double taxed. To me that was an issue that should have been handled by the manager and not by the waitress. Finally after another long set of minutes another waiter came and finally change the price to the reflect the one on the menu and we were finally free to go. No need to say I´m not coming back...

The food is not really good and the prices super high, very small portions. To top include 15% on the account. That the reality of life the waiter has to earn his tip care of you while not forcing you to give it to the end. Never recommend this place.

Great service , no so good and overpriced food! Waitresses and manager are very attentive, the place is huge and is a mock up of a typical "estadero". The food has to improve a lot!. Bandeja Paisa is a so so with no tasty ground beef and greasy belly pork, beans are thick and hogao looks like veggies just chopped out in thick pieces, it was like the cook was in a hurry preparing the food. Prices do not compensate for the quality of the food, beer is at $6, Papelón $3.45, $16 for Colombiana a la llanera!, and on top of that they charge 15% tip in the check without asking the client. Overall , the whole experience was un repeatable until they get better. The 3 stars are for the people serving.

I could resume my experience as simple as saying, bad service, rip off, and bad management. However, this wouldn't be fair. With that said here are the reasons why Im giving this bad place one star, and I wish I can just give them 0 stars. My friends and I went to this restaurant to have dinner for my birthday, since my wife is Venezuelan and I love Colombian cuisine, we found this place to be the perfect fit for our cravings. First of all we arrived around 6:15 we ordered right away since were all starving, it wasn't until almost half an hour when the waitress came to us to inform us that they were out of chorizo, and if we wanted to replace the chorizo with something else(their options were limited) 45 minutes later and with empty cups, our meal arrived( I would like to mention we were the only table in the restaurant) but not for everybody. My friend who ordered pretty much the same meal that everybody else, took another 20 mins. Anyways, we ate our food we asked for our check. Money, money, money this is what this restaurant needs after such bad reputation cause they had the nerve to jack the prices on our bill expecting nobody would notice. Basically for a dish that was priced on the menu for 10.99 they tried to charge us 13.99 when we called the waitress, and asked about the price she gave us the bs excuse that the dishes had the taxes already added to it. However, at the end of my check the taxes were being charged again, excuse me!!!! After going back and forth some guy came the table and excused themselves saying that the $13.99 price was for banquets and it was a "mistake". Two hours after we finally got out of this place to not come back ever again. Please do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Even a fast food chain restaurant has better service than this place.

One word that comes to mind....FRUSTRATING "Frustratingly" slow AND "Frustratingly" disorganized It's not everyday I end up at a restaurant that is rated below 3 stars on Yelp but on this occasion we (a party of 6) had mishaps that required us to leave two other restaurants and in our dire need to eat, our convoy of 4 vehicles drove up the road and to this restaurant that we "assumed" couldn't be all that bad considering there was a bunch of cars parked out front. Our group entered Tomasa Restaurant... the dining room is rather BIG but only had 2 tables of dinners; for such a large place (ON A SATURDAY NIGHT NONETHELESS) there was no one really here To make things even worse, they have a huge performance stage.... you'd think, it's Saturday night, they'd have a live band and people would be dining with their friends and/or families but no... nada nothing zilch; just an empty stage along with an empty dining room... Plus they have a rather nice looking bar... but it's located with no planning in mind... long bar but with limited view of the stage (just not good design in my mind). Not to mention, the bar is odd in the sense that it's really nice but the decor is mixed with a new bar and a dated looking stage, new televisions with a dated feel in general... it's a mish-mosh of bad interior design. But were here, it's time to eat after spending the earlier hours celebrating our friend Hiram's Birthday nearby at MIA Brewing... I get a moment to look over the menu and to say I was perplexed would be an understatement... Say I'm in the mood for a particular type of meat... like pork or beef... I'd like to order some but every is entree with a mix of other things... if you want "X" you have to accept "Y"... but each platter has things I like and stuff I don't like... So when I FINALLY figured out what to order and not be totally miserable I was down right annoyed when the waitress kept coming to the table saying "we don't have that" or "we've run out of that"... .HOW DO YOU RUN OUT OF SOMETHING IF NO ONE IS THERE EATING IT ? ? ? They're a Venezuelan restaurant but also serve Colombian dishes... I ended up ordering the PAISA PLATTER (a Colombian dish including ground beef, sausage, pork, fried egg, fried plantain, rice, beans and corn bread)... Part of the reason I chose this platter was it was the ONLY dish with PORK listed on the main plates (another one had "crispy pork" which I assumed to be chicharrones). Then we waited for our food... and "waited"... chatted a bit and then realized we've been doing a lot of "waiting"... and then some more "waiting"... then we began to talk about the "waiting"... then we asked the waitress about the "waiting"... she went to check on the order even though we were scratching our heads considering the place is empty so cooking up dinner for our table of 6 shouldn't be much of a challenge for a kitchen though we have to assume could handle this large dining room. Then what I believe was around 45 minutes some plates were brought out, but even the plates being brought out weren't full meals; and as everyone had something in front of them I still had nothing. I sat there as my friends ate and as some of their dishes were about half-way complete and a couple people said they were already full, I was at the point that I wanted to cancel my order... not because I'm not hungry but I don't want to eat alone; especially while everyone is done and more than likely would like to get on the road and head home... Just then my dish arrived and although it looked good enough, it was missing the sausage... the inquiry to the waitress was futile so I didn't bother pushing it... my plate had chicharrones and not pork... yes, you can say it's technically pork but then what the heck are they referring to on the other plate as "crispy pork"... AGAIN I didn't want to talk with the waitress about it because even when we were waiting for our food her answers were a waste. Bottom line... chalk this one up to a crappy restaurant.... Oh but wait.... To add insult to injury, in the end our bills arrived and they over charged some of the dishes... and of course, we once again given lots of smoke blown up our "blank"... the waitress was nice enough, but GIVE ME A BREAK" as if this shit doesn't happen on a regular basis... the waitress spoke with one girl and then a manager and all thru this "act" I was like... just give us a proper bill, let us pay and get the heck out of here and leave this experience behind us... Ironically, the food was decent and the prices (when corrected) were fair but overall shitty service and odd menu was enough to say... "BEST OF LUCK BUT I WILL NOT BE SHOCKED TO SEE THE DOORS CLOSED AT SOME POINT IN THE NEAR FUTURE"

I ordered the meat platter and the meat was dry and hard. Told manager and they did not offer to do anything about it, just said sorry and handed the bill. Unreasonable prices for OK food and less than OK service. Never going back.

It is a typical colombian/venezuelan restaurant. Food was good, service a little too slow (just two waiters) for some tables but I would recommend the place if you want to try venezuelan food. We ordered a plate called "The best of Venezuela" a little pricey but good enough for 4 people. Cold beer, wine, good desserts. Thanks. Good arepas and good empanadas too.

I ordered a cachapa to go, it was good. I did not know that this plate came with so much meat it kind of grossed me out. Anyways, the meat was okay but I ate 1/3 of the meat and threw away the rest of it. My bill came out to 20.00 for a small to-go lunch given their location, out of the city, this place is way over priced. I wont be going again to this restaurant.

WARNING: I hate to be giving this place a 2 star review, but the service was really poor. I almost feel bad for doing this, because I do believe the problem wasn't our waitress, but the people in the kitchen and management overall. We stumbled here after previous attempts to eat at a Dominican and Nicaraguan place. Since I am from Venezuela, I was beyond ecstatic to come here because I knew the place would serve great food. From the moment you pull on their parking lot, the smell of grilled steak impregnates your nostrils, and your stomach intermediately begins to beg for food. In we go and we were greeted with smiles all around. I was about to order water, but then I found out they had "Papelon con Limon" which is a drink made out of sugar cane and lime (ohh soo good) While exploring the menu, my smile began to get bigger because every single dish brought me back home. My husband and I proceeded to get some Arepas De Chicharron (fried pork corn cakes) as an appetizer. Out of the 6 people on the table, only two of us ordered appetizers, which took over 20 mins to arrive. I know 20 mins doesn't seem like a long wait, but when you are the only table in the whole restaurant, it seems a little bit too much. Now, despite this I have to tell the truth and say these arepas had the authentic Venezuelan flavor, and they tasted just like the ones I used to eat back home everytime my parents would take me to a steakhouse. My husband and I, along with another people from the table ordered a grill platter for 2 people which came with steak, chorizo, blood suasage, a salad and yucca, another of our friends ordered a "Bandeja Paisa" and my sister ordered rotisserie chicken and a cachapa (sweet corn cake with cheese). 25 minutes after we placed our order, our server comes to tell us they were out of chorizo (which was part of the grill platter). I completely understand the kitchen runs out of food from time to time, but to not notice it as soon as the server sends the order to the kitchen it's a little bit bananas (once again considering we were the only people in the restaurant) Most of our food arrives about 40 minutes after we placed our order, but poor Glenn G didn't get his food until after 1 hour of ordering. I am really trying to be understanding as to why the food took so long. So I think "Steak usually takes a lil bit longer to cook, frying yucca could take some time, the cow is being killed in the back of the restaurant, etc, etc" but when the only plate of food that consisted of rice, beans, ground beef and a fried egg on top takes over an hour, it's very insulting, especially when I see the cooks walking in and out of the kitchen as if nothing had to be prepared or cooked. I once again have to say the food was delectable, the steak was perfectly cooked and seasoned, my sister's cachapa had the right balance between the sweetness from the corn and the saltiness of the cheese, so it's a total shame I have to slam them for their service. We all finished our meals and asked for the checks, which came with the wrong price for some of the items. When we asked our waitress, she went back to the manager which tells her to give us the BS excuse that the prices were higher because they automatically add the tax to the expensive items. We all explain to her that doesn't really add up, and she goes back to the same manager who we see giving her a hard time, rather than helping her or coming to our table to explain what the situation is. I really feel bad for our waitress because probably not everyone gets to see what we saw, and might immediately give her attitude or a bad tip thinking everything it's her fault when it really isn't. Management needs to step up and learn how to manage a business in order to make it succesfull, and keep customers happy.
