Came here for lunch with a friend and can say i had an enojoyable time. Service was really great. For starters, i had the onion soup (ok) and my friend had the clams and she really liked them. For lunch, my entree was the chicken francese with veggies and asparagus (good) and she had the gnocchi(awesome), overall good portions. Valet is complimentary which can be good because that building can get packed at lunch time. I would like to go back and try other menu items.

It is Wednesday night. I just finished my meal at Sonoma in doral. First thoughts nice looking place but not so many people dining to add to the ambiance. Short and simple. crab cakes very good. Ribeye very good. service was super friendly I forgot the servers name but he did an excellent job. Looks like a fun place to listen to live music. I will be back, bar looks tempting. BTW my wife loved it too! Thanks

If you're in the area of Doral and wanna impress someone with al fresco dining, you bring them here to a shopping center with horrible parking and zero curb appeal BUT in their defense, nice interiors. Open and bright with a nice little patio area overlooking a little canal. If you consider the prices, you'd think you're on South Beach and I hate to pay for things that in the grand scheme of things lack the ambience. They have an executive lunch for $10.95-$12.95 which can be a good deal if you opt to go with their limited choices- otherwise you're looking at their cheapest angel hair pasta for $14 and upwards over $20 for a main plate. They seem to have good happy hour specials but nothing really blew me away and on a side note...they brought the bread basket with a butter that had been opened and used... ehhhh not cool. If I return it's for the drink specials and maybe appetizers, but probably nothing more.

I called this restaurant and it is OUT OF BUSINESS. It is now 'Beirut', from what I was informed over the phone. Just FYI.

I went to Sonoma last Friday with my best friend. I must say my first impression was kinda weird simply because it was a Friday night and there were very few people but It worked out because I didn`t want a loud crazy atmosphere that day so I didn`t mention anything to my best friend and decided to still give the place a shot. Well aren`t I glad I did. We sat by the bar and ordered the Tequeños appetizer. DELICIOUS! and it was a huge plate for 2 people. Then my best friend ordered a fish with mash and asparagus and I ordered Churrasco with fries and tostones. OMG! everything was cooked to perfection & declicious. Service was wonderful. Definitely a place I would go back. Its perfect for all occasions. As I read some reviews yes they were short on some wines but hey its a brand new business, these things take time. So I say go try it, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.

First of all location doesn't do any justice to the place. It's in a corner of a shopping and the next two businesses were close giving you the impression that the restaurant was close too if it's not for the open sign. When you enter you notice how big and bright this place is. It also has a nice terrace in the back with a small lake view. Service was good and we didn't have to wait to much for the food. So far so good!! Until we start to order...they were out off certain plates from their menu???? Please take it out then. Not much options for non-alcoholic beverage and they were out too in two choices that we made. Why two stars then? Our second option for food was good. The meat was tender and well seasoned and the same for the chicken. Too bad, this place seems to have potential but lacks to deliver. It's sad for a server to be sorry for the food and beverage that the restaurant don't have.

Arrived at 6:45 and the place was deserted. Good ambiance, good service, friendly staff. Music was great if you like 80's :-) Had the chicken parmigiana and Sonoma Fettuccine, both were great. Good taste, good portions. Prices were average. Nice place to have a casual dinner... Would come back, we liked it.

The new and happening place in Doral! Service and food was top notch! My Filet Mignon was cooked exactly the way I orderred. Don't skip the appetizers ... my favorite was definetly the clams and crab cakes! You won't regret if you give this place a try --- will be back!

  • Silvio S.

literally had some amazing Filet Mignon for lunch with a nice salad and mashed potatoes for around $12 with taxes.... you cannot beat those prices for the quality of food being offered here. I recommend you visit Sonoma and take your family for a really good meal that won't break your wallet. They are playing all of the world cup matches which is a big plus! Sonoma is the new spot in Doral, I promise you will not regret it.

My wife and I had a great valentines dinner here. Food was delicious, staff was courteous and a nice outdoor view at night. There was some great live music but not too loud so we could still talk normally. We definitely recommend Sonoma for a nice evening out

Just finished dinner for my daughter's 13th birthday and could not be happier !!! Today, last minute we decided to take our family of four to a local restaurant. Sonoma just opened a few weeks ago and we decided to give it a shot. Dinner for 4, in Doral with appetizers, main courses, wine (La Crema Pinot Noir), dessert, coffee and an after dinner port for under $300 .... Unheard of ... Really, we'll guess what ... It happened. And the service and interaction with one of the owners (Danny) was priceless. We made the reservation on open table and I commented that it was my daughters birthday. I never mentioned it again and they were on point even singing happy birthday. The decor is clean and sleek. Tables are very well spaced apart and the outside seating is gorgeous. The food is amazing !! I had the filet mignon (medium), my husband had a special meat plate recommended by the owner and the girls had gnocchi. Delicious delicious delicious ... Sonoma gives you the Coral Gables/Miami Beach/Downtown/Midtown hub bub with the neighborhood feel. You have clients for life !!!!!

Went there on a weekend with a voucher. Voucher stated something about free valet parking but at the time we went, I did not see any "valet" and there was no need as we found a parking spot in front of the Subway after it was closed. Before even coming to the restaurant, I called earlier that evening in regards to a "buy one get one free appetizer all day Fri/Sat." as posted on THEIR WEBSITE. As I called, I spoke to a lady who did not know what I was talking about; she passed me to a gentleman. I spoke to the guy and he did not know what I was talking about either! I specifically told them it was on their website and he then asked me what website I was looking at! (ok I literally had to spell out their website name). He put me on hold and then came back and said No, that he did not know anything about that. I asked to speak to the Manager and he told me he wasn't there, that he asked the chef. SERIOUSLY? Ok so after my surprise, he told me he could call the Mgr and clarify and call me back so I said Yes of course please call the Mgr but that I would be calling HIM in 10 minutes (because usually, you either don't get a call back or it's longer than the time they tell you). ...I called back less than 15 minutes later and spoke to the same guy and he finally said yes that deal was valid all day Saturday so I was finally happy about that, for now. We got to the restaurant later on and offered to sit outside because I heard that it's nice out there but it was a bit cold. We were the only two outside and there was a Heater outside but ironically it did not work -_- We get the waiter who was the same guy on the phone when I called earlier and I reminded him about the bogo apps and he said Yes, he remembered me. We ordered the caprese and bruschetta. Both good. The dinner rolls they brought out were also good because they were warm and soft inside. Onto dinner, fiance ordered the punta trasera and I ordered blackened mahi mahi. His meat looked plentiful and even though he ordered it medium well he said it came out a little rarer than he likes it but said it was still good but had a lot of fatty parts. I had some bites and it really was good. Now for my plate, I did not like my mahi mahi. I was totally disappointed since I don't like spending $20 on a plate of food that I do not like but I'm not the type to return food; unfortunately I should have. There was no smokiness to the fish, which is how blackened fish should be prepared and there was too much Cajun spices/saltiness. I noted in a previous review this was also their case. The service was great and our waiter was on top of everything. Unfortunately, to add insult to injury, when the time our bill came and I gave them my voucher there was an issue. I feel like there's always something when you use a voucher and they just can't wait to hound you. The manager came running and told me I actually could NOT get the buy one get one appetizer because of the voucher. I sat there with my man and the waiter and the Manager in silence for a good couple seconds and told them it how convenient it was (or in my case, inconvenient) for them to tell me this now while I'm paying. We just ended up paying and getting out of there. With other reviews and my personal experience, I feel like this is a hit or miss and in my case, was a miss. Final thoughts: Will not be returning, especially with a voucher.

I had previously ordered here for delivery and was not impressed. This time I went to the restaurant to see if things were better once you were actually eating there. They were better, but still not amazing. First, I'd like to say that the service was fantastic. I have absolutely zero complaints about the staff as they were phenomenal. The place has a weird ambiance, though. It was pretty bright which drew attention to the drop ceiling, and the TVs all over seemed out of place given that the rest of the restaurant seemed to have (or be going for) a more upscale feel. The music was kind of strange as well. Death Cab for Cutie played and, as much of a fan as I am, it was really out of place. Very postmodern, in a weird way. We started off with a side of tempura asparagus to pick at while we waited for our food and it was much better than delivery. The tempura was crunchy and the asparagus was soft. Maybe cut a little long but the ends were not chewy. We were also served rolls which were good, but by no means special. Typical, fairly dry, dinner rolls. I ordered the burger again. The last one was so bad that it had to be an improvement no matter what. It was, but I was still disappointed. The patty was bland and a little rubbery. My girlfriend said it reminded her of a fast food burger. I think it was a step up from that, but not much. I'm also not sure that it was 8oz as I have never seen an 8oz burger cook down so small before. This isn't a burger place, for sure, but I've had a better burger at large casual dining chains. I avoided the fries this time and got mashed potatoes. They were surprisingly great. I typically find myself disappointed with restaurant mashed potatoes (but enjoy them so much I order them anyway) but these are worth noting. In all, I'd say avoid the burger regardless of whether you get delivery or you are eating there. It's not worth the money you are paying for it, the buffalo mozzarella is its only saving grace, honestly. My girlfriend ordered the mahi mahi with mashed potatoes and vegetables. Her mashed potatoes were as good as mine. The vegetables were mostly squash, which I'm not a fan of, but which she said were good. I only had a couple of bites of her fish but we both agreed that it was over seasoned. It was a beautiful fish and perfectly cooked but it was hard to taste anything other than the seasoning. I couldn't imagine eating the whole thing myself simply because I think it would burn out my tongue. She finished it, but that probably had more to do with the fact that we hadn't really eaten than with the flavor of the fish. It was good, but not remarkable and I probably wouldn't order it myself. It's also worth mentioning that I ordered a gin and tonic (there are no good beers and few good liquors here) and it was mostly tonic. Overall, I probably won't go back. The price wasn't bad (I think we spent around $60 including the tip for both of us) but it wasn't great either and we could have gotten better food for less elsewhere. It might be worth checking out if you find yourself in the area (as in, on 25th already. Don't go out of your way.)
