After resisting coming back to Pollo Tropical for the longest time, I finally surrendered to peer pressure and gave them an official pardon. Per my colleague's suggestion, I ordered a Tropichop - chicken breast, brown rice, black beans, tomato, sautéed peppers and onions. yum! Add some guava sauce on the side. oh boy. It's enough to get you salivating. Food has been consistent, so I'm excited about that. Pollo... you are now on our weekly lunch rotation. Well done at redeeming yourself!

Something inexpensive, something fresh, something different, something yummy and something healthy, that about sums up about Pollo Tropical. Normally my Monday's lunch routine is stopping by McDonald's for their $0.99 6-piece chicken nuggets with a medium coke. This Monday was no different. But after seeing Savanna M's check-in at Pollo Tropical, my mouth begins to water and I can't stop thinking about their grilled chicken. Soon after I found myself on the way to the Pollo Tropical close to my office. I ordered my usual: ¼ chicken with two sides. Since I don't like beans, I just went double on the yellow rice. The chicken was very tasty. The skin was crispy and they got good flavors on the meat. Rice was cooked nice and soft, and mix the chicken and rice together with a little salsa...it was the bomb. Five starts on the food. This location is about a few blocks away from my office, which is very close. Normally the parking lot is pretty packed during lunch hours so I decided to go on the drive thru this time. For some reasons the line was moving very slowly today and I waited about 30 minutes in my car before I get to order. If they can somehow figure out how to speed up the drive thru line during lunch hours, they'd have gotten 5 stars from me. For that I gave them 4 stars.

Think of it as a version of KFC.....Latin style. Good chicken and sides especially the plantains. It's inexpensive and fast. It's a good option

As far as fast food franchises go its hard to do better than Pollo Tropical. Everything is grille from the whole chicken to the wings. The side options are fantastic and the now use Coke products instead of Pepsi, which is a huge plus. I have been eating low carb for a few months and this is now my go to lunch options when at work. The only issue is the staff can be very slow. When lunch hits the line can wrap around the building so come early or come late.

Food was ok, but 35 minutes for my wrap... Really people? Stay away during lunch time

Pollo Tropical was one of the highlights of our Miami trip. 1) Very inexpensive 2) Fresh tasting 3) Huge portions 4) Lots of variety 5) Good packaging on to go orders. Only con would be that Drive thru's service could be slow during rush hour.

  • Arcadian B.

Inexpensive caribbean fast food that had delicious chicken and ribs, hefty portions and awesome smoothies, tried the mango and piña colada

I happen to love this chicken place better then El Pollo Loco...They have the best salsa bars in any fast food place I've ever eaten at. For $5.00, I can get a whole meal.

This is the second time I eat here and everytime it gets better. Fastfood pollo en brasa can't get any better than this! Flavors are rich in every single dish they serve, from the chicken, to the rice, beans, yuca, soups... There's no way to go wrong in here. The prices are incredible, how much can you eat for so little price and high quality! It doesn't envy any high end restaurnt, because everything is as good as it can be. The only downside is the front cleaning; since it gets really really crowded at lunch, its hard to find a clean table; my advise, get a couple of extra people for that shift... Must try: the whole chicken and the yuca con ajo

I sure do wish there was a Pollo Tropical in Atlanta because this place would be big. Pollo Tropical is the Caribbean El Pollo Loco. You can get black beans, yellow rice, Cuban wraps, fried yucca, plantains, etc. for fast and cheap. Granted this place is far from perfect, but for the price the food is well worth it. You can't beat a 1/4 chicken, black beans, and rice for $3.79 at all. Yes, I'm a fan!

If you just have to eat in a fast food joint, this one is about as good as it's gonna get. Clean, fast and delicious. When life is in hyper-speed, you can almost eat healthy.

I love this place when I'm in the neighborhood - they are great for a fast food place, I can tell that they make their food with good ingredients.

This is very good cubanesque food. It's simple and delicious. The wings, sweet plantains were outstanding as we're the rice and beans. Great for take out when staying at a Doral hotel. Its pretty amazing that this is fast food. Its really good.

This place has become a daily staple in my diet and just like any Pollo Tropical, their offerings are tasty and healthy fast food. This particular location is only worthy of 3 stars because the service le blows. There is a particular cashier who's name is Martha and you DO NOT want her if you have to order ANYTHING that isn't straight off the menu. Due to gluten intolerance and my personal preference in following a Paleo lifestyle, I frequently order a Caesar Chicken Salad, no croutons or dressing, add a chicken breast. You would think this wouldn't be too difficult, especially after placing the same order with the same couple of people every weekday for almost 2 months. I'm not sure if the touch screen is too much for her to handle or she just lacks that much in commanding the English language (which means she shouldn't be the front line of customer service) but she just can't seem to grasp what I need. Once we figure out the crouton/dressing/extra breast issue then we're all set. After loading up my lettuce and chicken with vinegar, salsa, onions, and hot sauce, I am a happy man. It is actually a huge, filling, delicious salad. Try it. :)

I love their food, but their service stinks. You can ask for a side of salad and all you get is lettuce. But its good affordable fast food.

The guava cheesecake is amazing!!! Churasco is decent for the price. Overall good eating and fast food alternative!!

For a fast food joint, this chain is outstanding. They are always busy but you barely wait in line and you are typically greeted with friendly and fast service. It's amazing how cheap this place is...your dollar really goes a long way at The Pollo Trop! Even their ribs (which most folks are REALLY picky about) are pretty decent again considering what you pay. Besides the food, what really makes this place outstanding ...they have a seriously epic condiment bar inside that is packed full of onions and unique sauces you can't find anywhere and are FREE! I only wish they would expand into the panhandle of Florida (where I live) so that everyone could enjoy the great food and prices they have to offer. When I work in South Florida, I hit them up at least 3 times a week and never get sick of it.

I stopped by this place for lunch today and was almost detered by the long line at the drive thru. The cars were literally lined up around the restaurant. However, I'm glad I waited the 15 minutes. The pork was cooked just right and absolutely delicious. It was juicy, but not too fatty, and cooked evenly tender from start to finish. I was definately not expecting the restaurant quality from a fast food place.

These people are stellar. They are fast and efficient. I've gone to them a few times and today was the first time that I went there during lunch hour. It was packed but not only did they get everyone out quickly, they got my order right and had excellent customer service. The employees there rock!

I've been coming to this Pollo Tropical for a while because of its proximity to my job but lately every time I go I keep telling myself I'll never come back here again during my lunch break. The staff is nice and the food is great, even better than other Pollo Tropical locations I've been to... It's the wait that's killing me. I have tried going through the drive-thru, going inside, going at different times, nothing is working. I always spend most of my break just waiting to get my food and then eating it as fast as humanly possible to get back to work. I've been trapped in their drive-thru queue for 25+ minutes before. Love the food but if I'm against the clock, I can't afford to be waiting in line forever at a "fast" food place.

    I. Am. Obsessed. Dear Pollo Tropical, Please make your way north to Chicago. I know you're Latin American food...and Chicago doesn't really have the right feel to it but I promise we would love you! Obsessed and drooling, Amie I have had pollo tropical two different times and was in love both times. The tropichop is the way to go! Choose your meat (the pork is the best!), choose either rice or salad (always choose the veggie rice!) and choose your toppings (I go fully loaded, the grilled onions are delicious!) and then top it off with your favorite sauces from their sauce bar. There is some sort of cilantro sauce that is just amazing! The seasonal cheesy yuca bites were delicious, especially when dipped in the previously mentioned amazing sauce. PT, please don't make me travel to FL or GA to have your tastiness. Come closer!
