I decided to check this place out for lunch the other day when I was in Doral. I wasn't too impressed by the sushi I tried, but I ordered this spicy Korean "salad" with tuna, octopus and other seafood that was amazing!! I also tried their Thai donuts that besides having a beautiful presentation, were super tasty as well! Overall I think it's an affordable option for good Asian food in Doral.

Great sushis place! You can tell there are some Spanish influences in the menu ;-) I had the tuna tartar and the funky monkey roll (there special) was really nice! The roll was slightly too big but the tartar was delicious!!

Excelent service. Fresh fish taste. The sushi has a Japanese/Peruvian/Caribbean taste that makes a good contrast in flavor. You can get your rolls made with brown rice for a healthier option. Great variety in the menu, they also have a Korean and Thai fusion. If you go between 1 and 4 you can get a lunch bento box especial for less than 14 bucks. Excellent service and attention.

New ownership = total transformation. This place was okay before. Fresh sushi but nothing to write home about. Decided to try again because I was in the area and am so happy I did! New, creative menu. Ordered several things-loved it all! A few decor updates. Wine selection-actually exists now. (Rare for Japanese restaurant.) Owner came around introducing himself & checking in on things-nice touch. CRAZY happy hour specials - like dollar beer crazy- in 2014...what??!! So many reasons to return...

Good and fresh sushi. Service is fast and staff is always friendly. Lunch specials are good portions with fair prices and so is the happy hour. Favorite roll is the Funky Monkey. Must try it!

Rare times that soup has brought tears to my eyes. Pho with chicken soup was delectable. Added the side of freshly cut onions, cilantro, and lime juice. Jalapeños are there for a kick if you can handle it. Service was courteous. Green tea is delicious.

Went during lunch time and definitely hit the rush. We were a group of 5 and luckily were seated immediately, but the service went downhill from there. We had someone come up to us to ask for our orders, yet we had no menus. Once we got menus and placed our drink orders, we had a second waiter come up to us asking for our drinks. Some communication needed to be cleared up there on their end. We placed our food orders and were hold the sushi bar is behind so it may take a while. I thought this was nice that we were told in advance, so we went ahead and ordered edamames and a seaweed salad. It took almost 20 minutes to receive those appetizers. 20 minutes after the appetizers come we do all receive our sushi (total time until we got our food was almost an hour from the time we sat down and then started eating. I also asked for eel sauce and it never came. That was a but disappointing. Overall, the food was good but not enough to have me running back. Nothing stood out for me with the taste of sushi and I could probably find someplace better. My best piece or advice would be to not go during lunch time.

WOW!! This restaurant could not impress me more! From the quality of the food, to the huge selections, great service, and overall wonderful first experience! I ordered the seafood mix noodle soup (Jjomppong), was supposed to be spicy, but as I love spice, I was compelled to add sirracha sauce. Soup was large enough to feed 2 or more, great flavor! Hunny ordered the Sarah S Roll, a rice less combination of assorted fish - very good, and a standard but fresh and flavorful Rainbow Roll. I also had my first ever warm sake, as I was coming straight from work on a Saturday, what can I say other than that I've been daydreaming of a return very soon!

Actually, these folks were pretty good. We had a large group which they accommodated with grace. Was early when we arrived but it filled up rapidly. They had a bunch of Non-Japanese stuff we did not try, so I can't speak about this. On the other hand, they did have Chirashi on the menu which is unusual for a strip mall and some nice fish like mackerel which is hard to find. They were out of some regular items which might sound bad but it means, methinks, that they are concerned about freshness. Oh, the had buckwheat soba too, which was excellent, and some very creative rolls. Probably one of the most interesting things was that they made their own tamago, which is surprising. It was not like the tamago one finds in Tokyo, but stateside, it was a treat. I would go back just for that. Very limited sake selection and unfortunately, the servers, mostly Hispanic, had little experience with sake so I could see why they do not sell much. Outside of that, a pleasant and tasty evening. Nothing to swoon about like Nobu, but if you are in the area, check this place out

Friendly staff, we got seated right away, the service was fast and the food, oh my, the food was amazing!!! I ordered the tuna tartar (yum yum), the salmon crunch roll, and the thai donuts for dessert (new craving!). I went to Miyakos about 2-3 years ago and wasn't happy about it, it was just a disaster. My husband convinced me to try it again and I don't regret it. It was a 360 change! I didn't have to think twice to give them 5 stars because the truth is.. they deserve it! I've tried many Japanese restaurants, but this is for sure my favorite!

I have been coming to this place since it opens, the food is delish and the service is great. I highly recomend this place. I also had the privilege to meet Julian Gil, a very famous soap opera in the hispanic world. Great experience...

Came during lunch on a Saturday, there was only one waitress serving about seven or eight tables and she certainly looked frazzled. It took a good 15 to 20 minutes to simply get water and a beer. Now I get it, this is obviously not the waitress' fault, but the restaurant's. I'm an understanding person, so I waited patiently anticipating the great food that would make me forget about the super slow service. Unfortunately, the sushi rolls and my ramen were just ok, nothing special. It certainly doesn't justify their prices. Initially, I was excited about their menu; however, after the actual experience, not so much. I came to this restaurant based on the four stars, but considering service, food and prices, it is simply not worth revisiting for me.

If you are looking for a place with a great atmosphere , an ample menu for new things to try, as well as fresh and delicious food, Miyaku is the place to go. I am a big fan of the Ramen soup and cannot seem to deviate from it. It's just delicious. They also have a really good variety signature rolls and drinks; order the Plum wine... Oh! and the tuna Tartar will change the way you see tuna appetizers. Sooo good. If you are on the simpler side, they too offer a variety of hand-rolls and FRESH sushi. The staff is friendly, prices are affordable and it's the perfect place to take someone you want to make an impression on; they also offer oriental sitting, which makes the restaurant a lot more interactive and unique.

I love Japanese food and without a doubt I recommend this place above all other in the Doral area. Their chicken and shrimp fried rice is out of this world. Ah!!! Try the Dragon roll, is AWESOME.

Best in the world. #1. Really . Big, huge piece of fish and the flavor is amazing. The protein roll is great.

I was very surprised at the quality of the sushi but was more impressed with the attentiveness of the staff. It was my first visit here but I can see myself going back. It was very good.

We went here for the first time because Kamiko was packed (kamiko is our favorite sushi restaurant). Service was great - very attentive and fast. Everything tasted good. We ordered causa roll, coconut shrimp roll and another roll I can't remember. Causa and coconut shrimp roll were good, the third roll was ok. We also had the edamame appetizer and were pleased they give you decent amount. We liked it and will probably go back if kamiko is too crowded.

This restaurant is located in a busy strip mall along NW 36 street. Lots of parking, but none are close to the restaurant. LOL! Ate here on Wednesday 8/8/13, at around 3:00.Pleasantly surprised with the guava sushi. Who knew that rice, guava , coconut and a little crab meat could taste so good? The California roll was good too. I opted for a safe enter with steak and chicken teryaki. Surprisingly, this was the best steak I've ever had at a Japanese restaurant. It was tender and thinly sliced just right. For dessert, I had the Asian Doughnuts. Fried dough wrapped around chopsticks and served in a half-filled glass of white sweet glaze. Not exactly an extraordinarily creative idea, but tasty still. Enough for two. As someone not at all interested in Japanese food, this was well worth the trip. I will return.

I highly recommend Miyako Doral! It truly brings out a combination of Peru's tasty cuisine and Japan's traditional ways that all sushi lovers seek for. The food quality is impeccable and the highlight dishes are to die for. I used to go to Miyako when no one wanted to second glance it, with the new ownership and staff I can honestly say... That this restaurant is on a road to success. Well why bother on continuing to read this and try it for yourself!

I was excited to come here because I saw some reviews on yelp but was surprised about how bad the service was. The food and dj were great but we felt very ignored the whole time. Finally after we realized we were not getting any kind of service for quite some time I decided to call the owner. We explained we had been waiting for someone to come by and take our drink order and nobody had come for a while. He apologized but at no time did he offer us anything for the inconvenience and still after the fact service was still horrible ! When the bill came the gratuity was already included : / Unfortunately would not come back here because of the awful service I received !!

Despite the not so great reviews, I decided to take a chance on Miyako and stop by for lunch. I walked in right as they opened at 11:30am and placed an order for their Miami Heat Roll. It was okay - nothing out of this world. I felt that the roll slices were too thick (nothing like a big, fat piece of tuna to chew on) and they skimped on the cream cheese. Only half of the roll had any. One thing I did notice and liked was that they have these low booths set up where you can sit on pillows on the floor. Pretty neat. Other than that, I'd come back because I visit the shopping center a few times a week, but I wouldn't go out of may way to eat here.

Awesome customer service and great food. 2nd time visiting and better than first time. Got the Miyako Roll & Championship Roll on recommendation of our waitress and was extremely happy. Our entries were even better tasting.

This restaurant is amazing! The sushi is excellent. Historically I have never been a big sushi fan until one day I went there with my coworkers. I sampled some of what they ordered and really liked it. Now I'm hooked. I go to eat there at least once a week. I highly recommend the watashi rolls!

Unexpectedly awesome! We were driving around looking for a sushi place near-by, found this and we gave it a shot. Great food and service, they even had cool music! Really liked the protein roll and the tuna and salmon tartar! Highly recommend!

Food is good but don't lose your time trying to order food if you're a busy person during the week. They ask for a minimum of US$15 plus US$4.00 charge for delivery for about 10 blocks away, which is ridiculous. Not even mentioning that I have ordered before and they had never asked for the US$15.00 and now has suddenly changed.

Came here with my family because we were craving some sushi, the reviews seemed ok and it was close to the hotel we were staying at. Looking at the menu, you could tell it was just another one of those Asian fusion places. We didn't expect much but unfortunately it turned out to be worse than we thought. I guess we were too hungry to give care to some of the initial warning signs eg. it's lunch time and only one table is occupied, you could smell the chef burning something. The food was less than mediocre and OVERPRICED. They like to put fish eggs on top of their California rolls and use imitation crab sticks instead of shredded Krab. They also like to use oily wheat noodles instead of real soba and charge an extra 3.00 if you want to add meat. The customer service was not so great. I don't know what was going on with the waitress that day. For some odd reason she said the place was not offering Lunch specials at the time and persistently demanded we look only at the dinner menu when it was clearly half past noon. Later on when her friends came into visit, she kept talking to them and totally disregarded the other customers. I almost forgot to mention that shortly after such a "great" visit we got hit with FOOD POISONING and spent the rest of the afternoon feeling very ill. I would definitely advise my fellow travelers to spend their money elsewhere if they want some sushi but also want their wallet and health to stay intact.

Great food and service in a shopping center restaurant. Fresh sushi, tempura not greasy, good teriyaki. Prices were right for dinner. If we lived in the area we would be here on a regular basis. As good as any japanese restaurant in California.

Simply gross. Just look at the kitchen door. Service was subpar. Menu was standard American industrial sushi with a latin kitchen. No thanks.

Consistently good Sushi, I go to this restaurant when I can. Its good, the service and taste consistent. The Sake always great. :: Sigh :: Again... GOD CAN SOMEONE CREATE PARKING IN MIAMI THAT IS NOT A NIGHTMARE?????? Yes, at lunch, avoid this place lest you want to cry or damage your car. Your choice.

I'm a little disjointed on this place. The sushi was done well. Fish looked good and fresh. Portions were generous. Went for lunch. Ordered a box. It was good. Miso soup was a little weak. Nobody ever came back to ask if I wanted another beer. Which I didn't but it would have been nice to be asked just in case I did. I did see a spicy tuna mix that looked good. Should have asked the sushi chef for a taste but I didn't. Dang me! I can see that there might be some attitude from the floor staff here. When I first walked in I went for a table. The dude I was meeting decided he wanted to sit at the bar so we got up and moved. I don't think the waitress gal liked that much. Yeah, the parking is a nightmare. Getting into that lot at lunch when all those dumbasses are queued up back onto 72 Ave trying to their yoquiero taco rico or whatever the hell the Bells serves is really annoying. WTF is it with drive thrus. Park your goddamn car. Get out and go inside. It's so much faster these days. And the dumbphucks think just because they are entitled to the phucking taco, they can block up traffic. This town is so full of people who care only about themselves. Whew...sorry. Got sidetracked. But that was my experience today with Miyako so I thought it might be appropriate. :) Anyway, I'm thinking this is a 2.5 star review. Because I've been generous lately and rounded up, I'm rounding down today!

Went with a few friends to have sushi and it was delicious. We were greeted at the door and started with gyoza and edamame. The Plantain Roll was spectacular as was the Miami roll and volcano roll. The one thing that wasn't good was the thai donuts that were still raw in the middle. All and all great sushi in Doral.

Close to my hotel and really hit the spot, with people who care about your experience including the sushi chef who asked a few times if I was happy.

This place used to be much better... not sure what happened since the owner was there last time we went but the service standards were looowwww - can we get anyone that speaks English in this town ? We went with some out of town guests, some were bilingual, some were not and when we insisted on being spoken in English for the benefit of those American patrons who don't speak Spanish, the hostess simply copped an attitude and decided to turn into mega bitch from hell and from then on our service was dismal at best. The sushi is still good, the lunch options are plenty and the combinations work quite well.. we usually choose a box with sashimi, rolls and some kind of salad - the portions work well and you feel satisfied. However, the prices have gone up at least 30% in the last six months- So the formula is not making much sense anymore= smaller portions, higher prices, attitude because you don't speak a foreign language in your own country - I don't expect to bring friends here for a long time coming. :(

I used to go to this place very often a few years ago for lunch. It was always packed and both the food and service were pretty good. This week I was driving by the area around lunch time and decided to stop by...BIG mistake! Something has changed for sure...First, it was 12:30pm and the place was empty. I was given a table by a nice hostess who did not understand much English. Ordered a diet coke and a lunch special of sushi, sashimi and shrimp tempura. The food came out quickly. Tried the sashimi first and it did not taste right. Not fresh. Skipped it and moved to sushi. Tasteless. Moving on to shrimp tempura, picked it up and noticed a huge (5 inches long) black hair hanging..Still positive, thought it might have just "landed" on my plate. Tried to pull it and realized it was actually "attached" to the shrimp, meaning, it was there when it was prepared, fried, and served. Informed the server who said she would show it to the manager. 10 minutes later, another server shows up with another (unit) shrimp tempura. I said I had lost my appetite and just wanted the check. Another 10 minutes later the "manager" shows up and says these exact words: "So, someone says you found a little hair on your food and dont want it anymore...here, I removed the food and here is your check for the diet coke ($2)." Turned around and left." Not even an apology, no question about whether I would like something else, nothing...No lunch for me, paid and left as hungry as I came in. I guess a "little" hairy shrimp is no reason for complaints, right? I wonder what the kitchen looks like...DISGUSTING!!!!
