I was born and raised in Venezuela and this place definitely took me back memory lane. Large pictures of Venezuelan landmarks line the wall, and a friendly face mans the counter, ever so eager to assist you with making the best choice when it comes to your meal. We got an order of tequeños as an appetizer while we waited for our arepas. The tequeños were pretty awesome, but then again, anything deep fried and cheesy tends to win me over.

I've visited the Miramar location twice and this time was better than when it first opened. We had the shredded beef arepas. They were hot and overflowing with meat and the sauces. One bite and it was heaven. The meat was moist and full of flavor. The sauces and cheese all blend together in this richness that makes you want to go order another!

Enter hungry leave stuff out of you mind. Food is decent, staff is friendly...3 stars because it didn't blow my mind but it's a good place to land in a food coma.

Awful service and very rude servers. If you go there Saturdays morning be prepared to spend an hour to be serve....if you have the time. Doral area has better options to eat Venezuelan Food.

Small Venezuelan joint were you'll find unexpensive and very tasty quick bites, arepas, tequenos, patacones, and of course frescolita (pink soda). Open late on weekends. Be sure to practive your Spanish and they only take cash. Edit 04/22/2012: they take credit cards

it's a tiny local place, hidden in a small shopping mart in doral. don't judge by the looks, as it seems just like what it is, a little hole in the wall, which seems straight out of "la calle del hambre" (the street of hunger) in maracaibo. they have a variety of foods, arepas, tequeos, venezuelan hamburgers and hot dogs, but i was most impressed by the "pan con carne", which is basically a long hot dog bun, filled with shredded beef, potato sticks, cabbage, sauces, etc...it's an incredible sight, and it tastes incredibly good!! we also had the patacones (large fried plantain chips) con carne & pollo; these were amazing! with either beef or chicken with the taste of the plantains, yum! of course, you can't forget the frescolita (a venezuelan strawberry soda, but way better). the hours are great as they're open late, so if you're out and about, and in the neighborhood, definitely stop on by.

If you like Venezuelan and specially fast food from the Western part of Venezuela, you need to eat here. It is as close as it can get to that food in the US.

Very good green plantain arepa and nice services. But it is a little bit challenging when ordering because the people work there speak very little English.

It's Saturday morning. 10am!! I walk in and ask if they have cafe? The young guy "working" there, who has his mouth full of food and a look on his face as if I needed an appointment said "no. No cafe" so I pointed to the large commercial espresso machine and asked "what's that for?" And he said "no. No cafe" as he sat down at the counter in the back and proceeded to eat whatever it is he was eating. Rude and lazy. This guy simply didn't want to work. There didn't seem to have much of anything on display either. If this a tapón (a front for a business) then they're terrible at being a front as well. At least plug in the espresso machine. Pathetic.

Tremendas empanadas, y la arépa Cabimera. Más allá de lo normal y sin dejar de pedir el raspao de colita con leche condensada.

Two reasons why I'm not coming back: - I found a hair in my arepa - Uggly place, in fact, one of the worst places I've been in Miami. For places like this is why, we Venezuelans, lower our standards. Peace out.

3 stars for the food, 1 star lost due to the horrendous stench of this place. Think about mopping your floor with the same mop for 3 weeks and and leaving it in the same dirty bucket full of black water after each and every wash - multiply that x 10 and that's what this place smells like. With a hint of smelly feet. The place looks kinda run down, which matched the smell and not in a charming, cute little hole in the wall way. The service was good - owner was manning the place on his own on a lonely Saturday afternoon. My friend and I were the only ones in there, come to think of it he could've walked the food to us vs calling me to the counter to juggle my order. I'm Venezuelan so I feel I have a pretty good palate for my native cuisine. The tequenos were pretty good. The green sauce didn't really shine but it was OK. My Cuban companion loved it, but what does the poor girl know. The cachapa was good - the cheese was on point. The arepa was unlike anything I've ever had before - he makes it very different than what I'm accustomed to. It was super crispy and I prefer mine fluffier. The filling - carne mechada - was tasty. Sadly this place doesn't offer empanadas which is one of my favorite things to eat when indulging I don't think I would go back to this place. The food wasn't stellar and the stench is unforgivable.

I'm going to have to agree with Faby here about La Coriana. But then again, even as a Venezuelan, I'm not used to their arepas. I'm assuming their arepas are those from the west side of Venezuela, by the state of Zulia along the Colombian border. You won't find grilled arepas - these are more like super-crispy, pan-fried - and dare I say it - Colombian style (their arepas remind me of La Moon's arepas which I'm not even crazy about). You won't find the Reina Pepiada - those are for the caraqueños, not the zulianos. And so it is - you get the patacones and anything fried here. Kind of disappointing though - this is not what I think of as typical Venezuelan street food. On top of that, I didn't think the chicken filling was that good. What really brings down the ratings though are several things: - this place is of grease - the smell is of oil inside - the menu seems incomplete and also falling apart And these things are pretty much inexcusable considering that they moved to this newer and nicer location from the dump in the warehouse district by 79th Avenue where they got their fame. I don't see myself coming back here. There's plenty of other places that do it better, especially in Doral. Maybe I should have tried something else but arepas are definitely not the way to go here.

La Coriana was quite good. Venezuelan cuisine was new to us, but we found the empanadas and especially the arepas to be very flavorful and well prepared. The guy behind the counter was friendly and helpful.

The best panes con queso in Miami! I'm not an arepa lover but being from Maracaibo this is where I come to get panes con queso ( hot dog bread and fresh cheese with toppings of your choice) and patacones (plantain sandwich type dish). Delicious!

This small Venezuelan joint, you'll find inexpensive but very palatable typical food. We had a Patacon and grilled Arepa. They used a combination of sauces that went incredibly well with the meat which was moist and full of flavor. Both of out dishes besides its moistness, the arepa and patacon had the perfect crunch to the bite. To top it off these Venezuelan guys came in and made this place feel like home. They were cracking jokes and communicating with the owners as if they were family. let me tell you i love going to a place and feeling like I'm more than a regular or just somebody that is just coming in for a bite. This place is that kind of place were you'll feel like that.
