Wow! I think I have found my new favorite sushi spot! My boyfriend tried this sushi and 3 days later i was craving it once more! It is absolutely great, the boldness, creativity and flavors of the sushi are excellent! We tried 4 different rolls and they did not disappoint. Each one was created to perfection. It seems as it is inspired as a Peruvian-infusion with "Aji" sauces on some rolls. Yum! Try the rockstar roll, the rainbow & the elevation! I love the fact that when I went it was a rainy night and the business was full; every time a table left, it was being filled by another party. On that note, the place is tiny for their amount of clientele but definitely worth the wait (if you have to) they seemed pretty quick! The service was great, servers were very attentive to our needs. Overall, a great experience and would definitely recommend for you to try it!

Wow! Everything about this place is wow. When I walked in and there was a 15 minute wait on a Friday at 2 pm, I started salivating. This was going to be good. Sensory overload. Smelled like sushi, looked like sushi, but didn't SOUND like sushi! Alas, loved that they didn't try to make it seem that it was Japanese run. They are simply putting out super amazing good Japanese food. Everyone spoke Spanish, which I got a kick out of. But the heart and soul was good food. Portions are humongous and the food to die for. I think the main chef is Noe since there's a roll named after him and his name was embroidered on a tshirt. Everyone's names on their shirts which always brings in a personal vibe. Forgive me I'm jumping all over the place - yes. Service: 5 stars. I sat at the bar and the girl who served me was attentive and quick. When I had a question someone else jumped in to help: it was about the tirados- which I will definitely try next time. Food: i had the tuna tartar which was stupid - huge, and the best I've had. That's a big statement to make. But true. It was ground with bits of crunch and chunks of avocado squared into a big yummy tower. I then had one of the lunch specials and they accommodated my request for a salmon roll. The fish was sashimi grade and fat and fresh. I then had a piece of wahu nigiri. Outstanding. I will definitely be going back so I can split the rolls with someone and try more. Everything is conceptual and exciting. Dull is a word that can never be used to describe anything there. I was watching the staff behind the sushi counter take their time and be on their phones while some orders came in so I have to give them 4 stars because that makes the wait time longer and I wish they would feel the pressure a bit more but that still wouldn't keep me from coming again.

Recommendations: Tsunami roll Rockstar roll Salmon delight Green Tea Ice Cream This doral gem has some of the best sushi in Miami! Big portions with big flavor. Great place to come with a group to enjoy all this restaurant has to offer.

Located in a vary random plaza. The miso soup was a little bit more on the saltier side but nonetheless good. I ordered the Kai roll which was insanely delicious. My boyfriend ordered the sashimi appetizer and enjoyed it very much, it just took forever to come out (I finished my soup before it arrived). He also ordered the Crunchy Nefi roll and boy.. They're not kidding then they say crunchy, a little too crunchy for both of us to have enjoyed. Portion sizes are great for sushi rolls (Kai-10 and crunchy-8) Over all good service and food, just a little cramped in size.

I'm a regular customer here both dine-in and delivery so I can definitely attest to this place being a great sushi joint to go to in Doral. I have tried many of their rolls and my favorites are: Copperfield (unique flavor that somehow perfectly blends sweetness in sushi), Rockstar, and Jalepeño Popper (cheese + Jalepeño + sushi = surprisingly good). I came here with my boyfriend from out-of-town to show him some of the unique places I like here. I love Kamiko for their bold flavor combinations so I try to get as many different rolls as possible. In the past, I tried the Elevation roll which wasn't memorable to my palette. The new rolls we tried were the Rainbow Delux and the Tsunami roll (that I had heard good things about in previous reviews). For the first time I couldn't finish a sushi based on taste. The Rainbow Delux tasted like air freshener (possibly lemon fresh) and we both didn't like it (we determined it was the white sauce on top). The Tsunami flavor was muted and the flakes on top did not make up for it unfortunately. Overall, I would definitely recommend Kamiko for anyone looking for sushi. The pricing is slightly expensive but this is the standard for many restaurants in Miami. But for the rolls I love, it is totally worth it.

I rarely write yelp reviews but I had to do it for this one. A couple of friends and I had seen this sushi on Instagram and had been dying to come here for the longest and the food did not disappoint. We started with the causa acecevichada as an appetizer which was ahhmazing! I had the elevation roll with salmon, tuna and whitefish inside and it was soo good. My friends had the Kai, Crossfire and Salmon delight rolls which were also soo fire. The fish was fresh and the sauces were perfect. The best sushi I have ever had in Miami by far. It was a little on the pricey side but the rolls were big and packed with a lot of fish. I also found out they delivered to my house which could be dangerous as I now want to eat this sushi all the time.

Looked up on Yelp for some sushi in the area - this place was the closest to our hotel. Solid 4 here - sushi was great and tasty. Ambiance was a mixed bag, maybe it was because we had a lot of families with kids so it was a little loud.

Holyyyyyyy crap! I just found my new favorite sushi spot in this miserable city of Doral. Went with a friend for a belated birthday lunch and was pleasantly surprised! This place has a mix of peruvian flare, and its absolutely perfect. The sushi rolls are HUGE, the fish is extremely fresh and everything was delicious. Here's what we ordered Vegas Roll - Spicy tuna, cream cheese, avocado, crab tempura on the top and spicy mayo. Rockstar Roll - Soy bean paper with salmon, cream cheese, avocado, tobiko, scallions, tempura flakes, spicy mayo and eel sauce. Ceviche appetizers with yellow potato.. Perfection. Place is small and gets packed for lunch, but the service was excellent & quick.

This little gem is located in a shopping center in Doral. The first time I came here was when it has just opened, the owner came to our table and very nicely explained all the menu items and specials. It was good then and it's still great to this day. They have a fun and varied menu, the place is clean and nicely decorated. I reccomend it to all sushi lovers.

BEST SUSHI IN MIAMI! Try the Ceviche Tempura! To Die For!! Never disappoints!

  • Jennifer O.

The service was great, every waiter was very attentive even with a packed house! The ginger salad was just okay, but the rolls were fantastic! We ordered a California roll which brought 8 medium sized pieces, and we ordered a Dragon roll which brought 8 large generous pieces. If in the Doral area, this is a MUST try for sushi!

The best sushi in town. Period. WOW!!! the service, the sushi, the fusion with Venezuelan and Peruvian. The desserts, the sake, the fish. The best experience! Will be back!!

One of the best sushi restaurants around! I declare myself addicted to their Salmon Delight. It is the best sushi roll I've ever had. Service is great and very attentive.

After living in Miami long enough, you start to call a spade a spade and this goes double for sushi. I loved the food--but you can get even better sushi for half the price. Good portions. Go try it out to impress your boo.

  • K G.

Hi this is a great place to dine. What's really good in the menu is the eel deluxe and copper field DONT LEAVE WITHOUT TRYING THEM!!!

  • Mercy G.

This place is great if you are not vegetarian. They have very creative rolls but haven't put much energy into the veggie rolls. Seafood goers argue this is the best sushi in Miami! Parking and location are not the best but it's 100% worth the hassle!

  • Carla G.

Love love love love the sushi here. It's a place close to my boyfriends house that is always a pleasant visit for an impromptu sushi date. The servers here are all extremely nice. They're attentive and always willing to help. They're not bad to look at either of you know what I mean. The sushi, with its hispanic-influenced recipes is one of our favorites and is something you don't find just about anywhere. Their rolls are large and very filled, so that you're getting very good portions for the price you're paying. My boyfriend and I went so frequently that on a particular time they even gave us a complimentary dessert. This restaurant definitely knows the definition of hospitality. A great restaurant that is more enjoyable because of its overall atmosphere than most restaurants ever are.

  • Juan C.

Food is ok, nothing special. Service is terrible and slow. The place is dirty and the floor erodes a fetid smell, like if they cleaned with an old rag. Absolutely not recommended.

Excellent and really different sushi option. Go for the Copperfield if you like nuts and a bit of honey!

Just finished dinner here. Little hole in the wall in a small strip mall in Doral, cute place, nice decor. Tuna Tartar was delish, tried the coco shrimp roll (coconut flakes make it sweet!), the tsunami roll with sweet chili sauce and the Las Vegas roll which has of course the spicy tuna. Tuna was really fresh in all dishes...dessert I would pass on next time, tried the green tea ice cream with chocolate cake/soufle-green tea too strong and soufle a bit dry....otherwise, loved the sushi, very extensive sushi menu, would come back and try more.

  • Gracie J.

Not going to go into details about every entree I ordered (plenty of yelp reviews already mention the food)... it was fresh and above average. However, thought the food is on the expensive side, and the wait for the food was long. Also, had to hail for someone to refill water/tea multiple times. They have bar seating but one side is strangely way too tall to be called real bar seating. If you are seated there, there is no way you can watch the chefs in action - you end up staring at the blank wall of the sushi counter while eating. That could be weird. Good food but with the wait and not too great service we wouldn't come here again.

    (3)
  • Isabel F.

Service was extremely slow. We ordered two basic rolls, waited over 30 minutes and we eventually left without eating them. The only thing Japanese about this place is the name.

    (1)
  • Cindy M.

They have a great selection and the service was good too. I gave it 4 stars because there was a delay when we received our food order. The food presentation was nice and the food tasted really good. I see myself coming back for more. It was my first time here. I had the tuna taridito which was great and a rainbow roll. Overall, I was satisfied with the quality of food but found it a bit pricey.

BEST sushi in Miami by far! So fresh and delicious flavor combos. Tuna delight is a must. My favorite rolls here are Catalina, Elevation, Copperfield, Kai roll, Rockstar, Amazonian and Noe. Yummmmm

Trendy fun place with great food. Varied many. So many options. Will return to continue to exploit the menu. Sushi was fresh and beautifully crafted.

Was recommended here by my roommate. Decided to finally try it today. Definitely not a pure Japanese restaurant. I would say that it is a fusion Peruvian Japanese, not an uncommon combination here in Miami. Look at the success of Sushi Samba. For a trial we ordered a green salad with Ginger dressing, Dragon Roll, Extreme Rainbow roll and a hot soba tempura soup. The salad was a nicely and lightly dressed with a nice vinegary gingery dressing with an extra small vessel of the dressing. The Dragon Roll was done well and presented well on a long white platter that set off the colors to the eyes. The roll was done well and had what you expect in Dragon rolls down here on Miami. The taste of the roll was good, tasty and fresh. The extreme Rainbow Roll was a tasty. It hd the addition of shrimp tempura and crab salad in the roll with the pre-requisite ruby tuna, salmon and white fish. Then they topped it off with a drizzle of the spicy mayo and a white sauce. Tasty and different. Had a diva soup with tempura shrimp. Light soup in a medium bowl with two shrimps and some soba. Tasty and hot, and thank God not too salty. My only complaint is that they could have added a little more soba noodles. Would come back here again. Food was nice and fresh. Service was good.

Don't always submit reviews but I was compelled. There are a lot of great reviews but between the 3 in my group none of us really liked anything very much. My meal came and was a sushi roll but was fried. It didn't say that in the menu. It tasted just ok. My sister had the vegetable roll and thought it had no flavor. Neither did the rice or eel sauce. My friend had a spider roll which was cold and diced not regular fried soft shell crab. Overall it was a nice place but the prices were very high and the sushi was below average. Note. Just read even more reviews. I feel like I went somewhere else than what these people are reviewing because it not what they are saying. IMHO

Best sushi fushion in Doral, the owners are always there asisting and making sushi. Great customer service. Price is very reasonable as well

A little hole in the wall with nice interior design. The sushi is nothing out of this world , it's just OK & The service is really bad. They took a hour to bring out our food. The portions are small for the price.

  • Ashley S.

Normally I would say delicious because I came here once before and had a great meal. BUT this time around I it seemed as though all the prices had gone up for sushi that wasn't as great as I remembered. I also went during lunch hour and the place was extremely cramped, I can only imagine what a Friday night looks like.

Delicious Japanese fusion. The new ceviche tempura is really good. Unlimited amounts of sushi choices

  • Vane M.

The sushi at Kamiko is so fresh and their sushi rolls are delicious with a Peruvian twist. The rolls are expensive but worth it as they are huge with about 10 pieces each. I've tried several and my favorite are the Evolution and Leila roll

  • Cesar L.

Quick stop with a friend for lunch. We ordered the Tsunami and Elevation rolls, miso soup and Kumura shrimp tempura which is always a delicious appetizer. The service was much better compare to my last visit. Hope this is a sign of improvement.

Small restaurant in Doral. I would have given this place a 4 1/2 star rating because the sushi was great and the service was good, BUT.... I found 2 hairs in our Las Vegas roll. :( Our waiter took back our food and brought us freshly made rolls, new plates, and chopsticks. Still not sure if I'll be coming back anytime soon.

The best sushi restaurant in Miami! Yes, I repeat the Best in Miami. The taste &the freshness. Must haves- Noe, Rockstar, Evolution, the miso soup, omg just have it all. I guarantee that you will never love another place, more than this one.

I stopped by for dinner with my friend after work. it was nice and quiet restaurant. However, it was the best service i ever had in asian restaurant. We ordered the Tsunami and Elevation rolls, and sea food soup. it was tasted so fresh and healthy feeling when we ate. I really recommended this restaurant if you love enjoying the sushi and Asian food.

  • Karelis S.

The service was very good. We started with the Causa Acevichada which was good, but I would've preferred the ceviche by itself because it was delicious. I had the Noe Roll and it was famazing. It was crab, shrimp tempura, tuna, avocado, cream cheese topped with spicy mayo and eel sauce, it was like a symphony of flavors in my mouth. Lastly, was the Thai doughnuts for dessert. Although not your traditional Thai doughnuts they were the absolute BEST I've had. The only thing I didn't like was the booth across the wall was not comfortable, but I switched seats so it worked out.

I happened to be in the Doral area for work, and I am a big fan of just firing up the yelp app on my phone and finding something new. I was a bit impressed by the decor, but I am a fan of food and not ornaments, so I look past it. I ordered four different rolls, I have to say that the recipes are imaginative, and look good on the menu, but fall way short when you taste them. Two of the rolls, especially some sort of special lobster roll, was kind of bland, and the lobster meat was kind of dry and stringy leaving a lot to be desired. The other roll that I did not enjoy had some sort of white tuna on top covered in a tasteless slimy sauce and was also kind of blah in flavor. The other two rolls were nothing to write home about but at least were edible without any major complaints. Service was not bad, friendly and fast.

Occasionally all the planets align just right! This is sushi at it's best. Can't make it to NY or Cali? Come to Doral! I am actually sitting here in the restaurant writing this. Dishes are imaginative and completely out of the ordinary. Do not expect to come here and order a California roll. The crunchy crab delight and tuna tartar appetizers are to die for. The elevation roll gets a big thumbs up as well. Presentation is top notch. Service is personal and professional. If you like, they will gladly explain each and every dish to you. It will take coming here several times to taste the very many menu items that look so interesting. Can't wait to come back.

Great sushi, one of the best in Miami. I can say I have been to a tons of sushi places in US and also on my business trips I give 5 stars to this one I just wish the restaurant would be in a nicer area but is worth to go every time! Don't forget to order the tuna tartar very different and also their special dark chocolate dessert, to die for!!!

My wife and I are always on the hunt for a new sushi place and are happy to have found one so close to home. We had 2-3 plates one was a fantastically delicious tuna concoction, a deluxe volcano roll and a spicy grouper ceviche. The ceviche was delicious as were the other plates. The beer we had was ice cold and for all the Latin flavored folks they have expresso which is definitely a twist from everyother sushi place I've been to. My wife and I will be back, next time a little hungrier and with reinforcements.

Went for lunch on a weekday, no wait time. Ordered steamed pork gyoza which was deliciuos, had 2 rolls (kai and elevation) and chicken teriyaki for kids, the sushi portions are big and so is for the kids. Staff was friendly. Elevation roll was ok, kai roll tasted great. Place is pricey, avg. roll is about $14, menu is very diverse, lots of different options. The restaurant looked nice and clean.

The food is ok some hit and some miss. the service was great the second time but the first time the dudes behind the counter were kind of jerks. Overall, i dont think ill return unless im in the area. Ill give them credit that the sushi and fish was really fresh and the molten lava cake was the only thing memorable.

  • Hey There L.

I'm the cleanest and most yummiest sushi place in Doral, Im a little small and a bunch of people always want to get inside me, they even do line to try me, although there is a copy cat in town that's trying to steal my recipes away, I still manage to be the best...sometimes I like too see my people suffer after eating a spicy tuna roll and I don't give them water for a while, but I reward them with my marquesa dessert that the copy cat in town stole from me ( or maybe i stole from them ) either way you have to try it! it's the best.

When we came in we were seated immediately, so good start when something has a high yelp rating. Lets just say it went down quickly from there. We perused the menu, ordered drinks, an appetizer, and three rolls. Was excited to try their unique rolls and the pictures looked great. Then let the waiting commence... Literally, 30 minutes later our appetizer came out, which was amazingly long to wait for some sliced fish. Even more amazing, three sushi chefs working on a room of 25-30 people tops. I guess I'm just use to speedy Japanese sushi. To make matters worse the sushi came out room temp, which doesn't sound bad until you realize your in Southern Florida and room temp is 80 degrees or higher. Made one a little nervous to eat their warm sushi...after all e coli is real. Then we had three more rolls which took another 10 or so to start rolling out. Two of them were rice-less and tasted like dirty salad, guess they weren't spending the extra time to actually wash the produce. They were also too big to be bite size, which is the whole point of sushi right? Now in all of this waiting and room temp sushi, it didn't occur to anyone that 30 min is too long to wait for sushi after you have ordered it. The staff was polite enough, but offered nothing in the way saying sorry its taking so long, instead they hide in the sushi counter, which may be why it took days for the sushi to actually come out. So here is the tip for this place, you have other options, choose them.

Nothing like finding a strip mall hidden gem! Everything was spectacular, from the simple to the elaborate. Original rolls, plus improved classics. Will become a regular for sure. The place looks great too.

This restaurant is situated in a shopping center that gets really busy at lunch time; parking can be a bit of a challenge during this time. I went there for lunch and ordered a couple of rolls. I had a Volcano Deluxe roll which was very good, and a crispy Nefi roll. I liked the Volcano but personally didn't care at all for the Nefi. It ended up being a rather expensive experience; their rolls range from $12-$19 which for 2 rolls plus tip was over $35.

I love to be happily surprised. :D This little nook of a sushi bar has a sophisticated modern charm. Located in an unassuming strip mall deep in the logistical warehouse district (Tile Mile), the first step in and you know you are in for a treat. The service was excellent, even with a full house. We were charmed and advised of the most popular choices on the menu. About those choices!!! The menu does not do the dishes justice. The plate presentation was better then most restaurants in Lincoln Road or Las Olas. The menu is Japanese Peruvian, or better said as Japanese influenced Peruvian. There are 7 Ceviche plates. I choose the Mango Ceviche, with diced white fish, mango, onions, cherry tomatoes, yellow peppers and a wee bit too much yuzu sauce. It came in a generous without being ridiculous size martini glass. Appetizer was Crunchy Crab Delight - a blend of Kanikama, tempura flakes, tobiko, scallions and a drizzle of spicy mayo and eel sauce. Soft and crunchy, cool and spicy. There are also 6 different Tiraditos dish with the Octopus plate, my choice. This is one of the more expensive plate on the menu at $18 but Wow! Just Wow! Worthy and unlike anything I have ever tried. Perfectly cooked and thinly sliced octopus laid out in grand style drizzled with a kalamata olive sauce that is subtle and yet pronounced. Also with a little bit of lemon, chives and sea salt. Well - I'm not usually a desert person but every now on then a little sweetness on the tongue is desired at the end of a fine meal. Upon the servers suggestion "Surprise me" we received beautiful plate of hot fudge and vanilla ice cream. That statement does not do justice to the yin-yang balance of hot and cold, rich and sweet, light and dark contrast. Sublime! This here is a winner! :D

Japanese food with Peruvian fusion. Fresh fish, assorted menu. Most (rolls): nori, tsunami, elevation, rock star. Nice place, little and friendly, good service. About 40$/pers.

Really bad food...all dishes that we tried were full with sesame seeds...nice staff, but definitely food taste was awful and super overpriced.

so so good! I love rolls and they offer great options but what makes it special is the touch of Latin food specially Peruvian cuisine . The ceviches are pretty good and the causa Roll perfect. My favorites rolls are the dragon and the Amazonian roll. Is small but the deco is pretty. A must go place.

A MUST for every sushi lover. Best sushi restaurant in Miami. I have been there few times and it gets better by the visit. The warming atmosphere and the excellent service make you feel like home. The variety of options in the menu and its outstanding quality of food makes you want more and try it all. Perfect for a couple occasion or for some family time. I guarantee you this will be the best sushi bar you will eat in your entire life.

I came here a few weeks ago and ordered the volcano roll. It was delicious! Nice and hot with plenty of volcano topping! The topping was just a little spicy which was great and the crunch from the masago was perfect. I went there around lunch time so it was kinda busy. I sat at the bar and watched tv. Not sure if the food comes out faster on a slower day but, it took a while for me to get my food. I would recommend if you work nearby and are going for lunch try to order ahead.

I often hesitate whether to give a place 3 or 4 stars. I guess the difference is whether I was wowed or not. The Yelp description of 3 is A-OK and that is exactly how I feel about this Sushi joint. First and foremost it is a fusion place, that is really clear when you get there. No one in the place is Asian, and of course that doesn't mean it can't be amazing, but you do wonder. It is a Latin fusion and the food is DEFINITELY for the Latin American diner palate. I do prefer the cleaner tasting, less saucy Asian palate. They specialize in Tiraditos. We were here for Sushi Rolls, if we come again I will try the Tiraditos and maybe be impressed with those. The menu is HUGE, its really hard to get through everything to figure out what you want. We ordered a few rolls for the table and tried everyone's. My little one had a volcano roll which is usually her favorite, however here she wasn't thrilled with the huge chunks of cooked tuna in the topping. My veggie roll was just OK, I wouldn't order it again. The Kamikaze and Dragon were good, the rice however didn't taste like sushi rice. The rolls were quite big, and the prices match. I was appalled at one of the employees walking around snapping gum so loud that we could hear it wherever he happened to be in the restaurant. NO GOOD RESTAURANT - or any business for that matter - allows their employees to chew gum on the job, much less snap it like that .. ick If you are looking for some interesting fusion combinations it is a good place to come to try out. The decor is beautiful and our service was great.

The service was unparallel, especially for miami. The server recommended appetizers and rolls that were very tasty. My brother and I absolutely enjoyed the food and found the place to be a pleasant surprise... Summary: very fresh fish, tasty food, wonderful service, and good ambience.

I was very disappointed when we arrived Friday night expecting to have a nice sushi dinner, the guy who greeted us told us we would have to wait 1 hour to be served even though there were tables available. He explained he only had 2 chefs and there were a lot of take out orders! We were very turned off by his explanation and left. We went to a different sushi restaurant and ended up having a great time.

I tried the vegas, jalapeño, Amazonian, rolls. The vegas was good, the amazonian said sweet plantains but i think it was bananas. The rolls were generally good, and priced from $12-16. I would go back and try others. Price wise i felt it was high, taste wise some of the mixes worked well. I have to go back and try others

Came here because I needed to do business in Doral. This place is very cute. Updated and chic. Very small place tho holds about 20 or less? I sat at the bar because I was eating by myself. Usually when you sit at the sushi bar you can kinda see the chef making the sushi. But this place they had a wall between the chef and you so you pretty much stare at the wall. The service was okay for a busy lunch time. I ordered the chicken katsu lunch special. I ordered the salad since you also have the option for soup. I should have ordered the soup because when my chicken came out it had another salad with it d'oh. Very tasty chicken but didn't taste anything unique except for the dipping sauce. It came with 3 good size chicken pieces on a stick. I took 2 home since the lunch special came with a Cali roll too so I was full. Popped it in the oven when I got home and it was still good!! Overall it's your standard sushi place I may want to try their specialty sushi rolls one day if I'm ever in this hood. They are quite pricey about 12$ and up. Basic rolls are average price though.

WOW the food was so food that I'm writing a review. All I had was good but the rolls without rice were perfect. I'll be back.

Soooo not a 4.5 star experience. The servers were distinctly uninterested in doing their jobs and never came to check up on us once. Despite the restaurant being empty when we arrived, it took them a minute to tell us to sit wherever we wanted. We ordered hot green tea (don't do it, it's a teabag and not even a good teabag), which was extremely bland. No one ever offered us a refill and when the server poured the tea for us, he dripped some on the table. He pointed it out to us but never bothered to come clean it up. Maybe he was busy? Nope! We were literally the only 2 customers there at the time. On to the food. I started with the scallop ceviche, which was pretty but completely tasteless other than some spiciness (hot chili oil?) in the sauce. I also ordered the evolution roll, which I enjoyed but it was missing a kick. Maybe it was because I left off the wasabi mayo? Possible, but there was still a dab of it on my roll and I doubt more of it was the solution as it was pretty mild. My friend ordered a lobster roll and liked it, but it was really small compared to the evolution roll. For dessert (it took me about 5 minutes to flag down a waiter for the menu btw bc they were all too busy laughing at something on someone's phone), I had the apple harumaki, which are basically spring rolls filled with apple pie filling and with some ice cream on top. It was my favorite part of the meal, but again, nothing mind-blowing. I'd give it a 3.5 based purely on the food, but the service knocks it wayyy down

Wow what an unexpected delicious meal! We were looking for a quick meal by our hotel, not wanting to venture into the traffic at rush hour. The restaurant is in an ordinary strip mall. When you enter the decor is welcoming and warm. The staff was extremely kind and helpful in helping us pick items off the menu that would go together. We started with the fried ceviche served in a martini glass over deep fried seaweed and cover with a perfectly spicy mustard sauce. Then we ordered two rolls. The Rainbow roll and the Nemo roll. They complimented each other. We finished our meal with Kamiko Chocolate Creme. It is a warm gooey brownie served with ice cream it was amazing and capped off a great meal.

Yummy, I came here on a saturday night with a double take deal and was pleasantly surprised. Small but nice looking gem. Wanted to go somewhere close to the house and my husband picked sushi. Walked in and decor was really cute. We first ordered the salad which the dressing was delicious and he ordered the miso soup which he said was good. Then we ordered 3 rolls: the amazonian, alaska, and cooperfield. Delicious!!!! Wow i cant wait to go back to Kamiko again and soon hopefully. Prices were great and service was superb. i have already told my coworkers and friends about this little place.

Very clean and welcoming atmosphere. I eat sushi often while on the road for work and this is certainly above average. I gave it the nod to 4 stars (yay! I'm a fan. per yelp's scale) due to some of the more unique offerings on their menu. There's definitely a Latin American element to their menu but they still have many traditional offerings as well. I almost went with one of their many ceviche options but after seeing some of their rolls come out I had to try one for myself. I sampled the ginger salad (one of the best I've had), Spider deluxe roll (soft shell crab was great), and a few pieces of nigiri during lunch. Sushi was fresh, service was good, and menu had something for everyone. I'd definitely come back!

The causa roll was outstanding, as was the eel roll. Portions were quite large. Service friendly if a little scattered. Very attractive little place in an anonymous Doral strip mall. Worth the trip from anywhere in Miami. I'll be back with a larger appetite, next time.

this might be our #1 sushi place ever. And when we say ever I mean we had sushi at all the top NYC places, in Japan and in Korea...This trumped them all! Everything about this place we just loved. Again in a completely unassuming area in a logistics park...which actually fits our taste. GO there for the not so ordinary rolls. Amazing, creative approach on a traditional meal. LOVE IT!

Everything in this place is delicious and fresh. Ambience is very laid back and waiters are nice and helpful. The only bad thing is they don't open on sundays, i wish they would change that!

I'm actually excited and yet nervous about being the first to review this place here on Yelp. We were taking a client out to lunch, when she told us about this little place somewhere in Doral that had wonderful sushi, so we decided to go. It is located in a strip mall and it has a lot of other restaurants competing for attention. Once we walked in, the decor was very nice, it had a decent amount of tables and it looked promising. Our waiter looked more like part owner, and if he wasn't then he certainly took care of business as it was his own. The menu offers quite the variety of dishes, we started of with some steamed shrimp Siu Mai, along with a few pieces of White and regular Tuna. The fish was as fresh as can be, and the Siu Mai was also good. Then we ordered a few sushi rolls, but wait, these were not your ordinary California rolls, no no no, they do offer those, but they have a whole list of "fancy rolls". We tried one that had tempura flakes and aji amarillo aioli, which was superb, and we also tried the Spicy Crunchy Tuna Roll, awesome as well. Even the coffee was spot on. Pricing is quite decent, average $12 for quality sushi rolls. We will be going back to Kamiko this weekend for sure.

Definitely a hidden gem in a run down strip mall in Doral, FL. Once you walk through the doors, though, you are transported to a trendy little joint that could be in any big city in the world. The decor is modern and you can watch them making sushi rolls from any of the tables as the place is fairly small. A friend and I decided to give it a go once we saw the wonderful reviews on the Yelp app. We were not disappointed. We decided to each get a ginger salad and then split two sushi rolls, the dynamite roll and the volcano deluxe roll. I recommend both. Prices were very reasonable, the sushi was fresh, and the service was good. Toughest part was trying to narrow it down to a couple of rolls since everything looked so delicious! I would definitely recommend this to anyone craving great sushi when stuck in the restaurant void that is Doral.

The server couldn't find California eel on the menu. She told me that she will tell the sushi chief to make it for me. They served me California rolls with eel sauce on top. The quality of the roles were mediocre at best, and the prices were unreasonable. Charging three dollars for canned soda and nine dollars for California rolls is ridiculous. The portions were small too. There are much better sushi restaurants Miami.

First off I would like to start by saying that I have been to Kamiko several times, since I live in Doral, and the food is ok. It is probably way too overpriced and you can definitely find better sushi in Miami, but for the Doral area, you can't complain. This review is more about the customer service I personally experienced when speaking to the owner after trying to place an order for pick up. The Restaraunt closes at 10:30pm on weeknights, and I usually call around 10:05 after getting off work to place an order for pick up. Usually the staff is more than happy to take a quick order before closing and they have never had a problem with that. This time around, when I called at the same time, the staff member told me that the kitchen was closed and that they were not going to fulfill my order. I merely asked why they would not take my order if in the past they had done so multiple times, when the staff member rudely informed me that they decided to close early because there was no one in the Restaraunt and I had probably been there on a night when there are still people inside the Restaraunt. Now, that's a lie because nobody is ever inside the Restaraunt at that time since Doral is basically dead after 8PM. I told the staff member that I found that to be inconsistent and I was about to say goodbye when he told me that he would put the owner on the phone. When the owner was placed on the phone he rudely said "give me your order" I informed him that my intentions were not to make them reopen the kitchen but that I was a consistent customer and had never had this problem in the past, to which he rudely responded "ok, just give me your order". I then told him not to worry that I would not make him go through the hassle just to satisfy one order and he yelled at me saying "fine! Then don't order anything" and slammed the phone and hung up on me. I honestly shouldn't be surprised after hearing countless horror stories about the customer service from my parents and family members, but this was definitely rude and uncalled for especially for the owner to behave in that manner. I will not be returning to Kamiko or ordering from them ever again. I am very insulted that an establishment owner would treat a customer in that way and I do not feel as though I should have been yelled at when I wasn't even demanding or asking anything of them. Hope that if anyone else ever goes to Kamiko they won't be treated the way I was just treated.

They have a very different menu to any other sushi restaurant. Some sound very palatable. The crunchy crab salad is to die for! And the chocolate cake too!!

This place belongs among the best sushi places anywhere, let alone in Doral. The menu is inventive, eclectic and fantastic. Despite being from Venezuela, Carlos, the owner / host can recommend a dish, wine or even sake with honesty, knowledge and even history. Thumbs up for this family run business.

It's bad you can't give more stars! This place is a true hidden gem in South Florida. I ate sushi in a lot of place, but at Kamiko is a place you don't forget and you always want to come back! The food experience is simply amazing: quality of the products, preparation, flavor, taste...if you love Sushi, GO here!!

Amazing place to visit. I was recommended by a friend of mine to visit this place. We ordered four rolls and they were awesome. They best it has is I noticed it is a family business, very well managed, with a great family environment.

Food is definitely great! Service is a little slow. My biggest issue is price. $2.50 for a can of Coke. $4 for Miso soup, and $10 for spicy tuna during lunch. Too pricey to return for lunch.
