Looking for some Pasta in Doral I came across this place. I ordered some fettuccine Alfredo for takeout, and I have to say the Dish was very good. I will be back!!

Very good option in Doral, their pastas are outstanding. They do not have pizza though, but everything else is pretty good (fresh ravioli, linguini... ). Lunch special includes soup or salad and main course. Only downside is parking which can be challenging at times.

The food is outstanding, but the service fell a little short. We had to call the waiter over a few times to ask him for things that we needed because he was too busy at the bar, either texting or talking to someone sitting at the bar. But other than our not so excellent waiter, the bus boys were very attentive. We order the prosciutto platter appetizer, French fries and mixed white and green fettuccini Alfredo pasta. Updated: the waiter never told us the specials but the party of 6 next to us, got the full service.

*~Ravioli di Gorgonzola e Pera con Salsa di Fico~* Ravioli stuffed with gorgonzola cheese and pear with figs and marsala wine. One of the most delicious meals I have ever consumed. I was craving something sweet and was so happy that the waiter (who was equally amazing and also a magician), suggested this plate. I can't even try to describe it bc it just wouldn't do it justice. It was sensational. On the other hand - my sister ordered the 'Scalopine di Vitello alla Milanese con Insalata di Rugola e Balsamico', which is panfried veal topped with an arugula and cherry tomato salad. Unfortunately the veal was overcooked and she was unable to enjoy it. The Insalata Caprese was fresh and yummy (note to self: must try calamari next time). The service really was outstanding. Our waiter did magic tricks and kept us very entertained. I can't wait to go back!

Nice little place. Service is decent. The only problem I have is that my husband's food had a small piece of plastic on his mashed potatoes and when I told the server he said it was nothing. That when they heat the mashed potatoes they used plastic to covered. The food was pricey. At the end no one came to my table to apologize.

Our favorite Italian in Doral and arguably in Miami. We have tried almost everything on their menu and we keep going back.

What a place !!!, The food is excellent but the service is really amazing. The owner and their servers were incredible nice, good recommendations and always pending on you. The restaurant was full when we arrive but this did not interfere with the quality and the attention. Highly recommend

Wow! Thank you Yelpers! It was my 15 year anniversary and we wanted to take full advantage of our babysitter & have a nice dinner. We were by the Doral area and I looked up restaurants on Yelp. Basilico's reviews were great and sounded promising. We walked in and were given choices in seating areas, then attended right away. Our waiter was very helpful and wity at that. I loved the team work within the staff. We NEVER had to wait for anything, ask for any refills, nor had empty plates lingering on our table. They even comped our espresso just because! My favorite was when leaving our waiter made it a point to follow us out and shake our hands farewell. Food was fresh, flavorful & on point. Wine was delish. And the service was amazing. Thank you for making our experience so pleasant without even knowing we were celebrating such a joyous occasion.

Prompt service, great lunch meals and prices. The decor and the ambiance are classy. My wife had the vegetarian pasta and I the grill chicken with pesto and mix baby greens. Just WOW!

Mediocre food and rude service. Should never be informed by a restaurant that it "closes at 10" after trying to make an 8:30 reservation. Surely there are better area options for Italian.

I love Basilicos...so I have been lucky enough to eat Italian food in Italy....this is very close. The Pasta de Mare....YES, please!! If you eat seafood, you will not regret this dish. Their specials are very tasty and honestly this restaurant has it all. I have not had a bad meal or a bad choice of wines. Their selections are spot on. The calamari is exactly what it should taste like. I hate rubbery calamari and you will not be disappointed. The fried zucchini also very good. Another safe place no matter what you order. When I do not want to make my dinner a hit or miss.... this is my safe haven! The servers are very attentive so overall this is a great dining experience.

This restaurant is simply magnifico! The food is amazing. The appetizer was out of this world, the best calamari fritti ever! The best pasta al telefono, great name! Great taste! Panna cotta awesome! Now, when you have a server like mine....it's hard to keep a smiley face... Alex, get a grip or get another job. Funny to have a server kind of being defensive instead of pleasant. His customer service grade is an F. He is rude and not friendly. Incredible how my experience was tarnished by the rudeness of one server.... Going back to the food: I will definitely go back because it is a wonderful gastronomic experience (but that guy Alex will not be my server for sure!!!)

I love the Milanese salad here. It's a large portion with some delicious baby green salad. My husband always get the gnocchi which is to die for !!! I really like this restaurant when I'm in Doral. The staff is very friendly and the food is fresh. Always check out their daily special

This is a nice Italian restaurant in a strip mall in Doral. The restaurant is quiet and nicely decorated, and the service is wonderful. The kitchen is willing to custom-make any item (within reason) for you, and the food is served piping hot shortly after you order. We tried the ravioli with gorgonzola cheese, pear, and figs, the linguini with clams, and a fettucine with pink sauce. The sauces were all very flavorful but not overwhelmingly heavy, and the portion sizes were decent (but the prices at dinner are pretty steep for what the food is). Overall, the taste and service were good even though the prices were not as nice. I'd come back again if I was craving pasta and didn't want to leave the neighborhood.

Great food, service and prices. Had the best pasta ever: tricolor pasta with shrimp and lobster sauce. Family of five, everyone was happy

This is one of the best restaurants in Doral! Great food, always freshly and deliciously prepared and the service is always excellent. Would highly recommend to anyone and frequently bring my out of town guests here.

I've been on a little mission to try different restaurants in the doral area, this was one of the first I tried. Let's start with a 15 minutes wait for water, bread & waiter! That's right! No shit! I timed it! No water, No bread No waiter! The place wasn't packed either. I had to go to the bar to get my drinks then they were like "oh we are so sorry we'll bring it right over" BS that also took some time another 5 minutes. As for the food, it was average. I probably would give the food quality 3 stars but since the overall wait experience was so bad I can only give it 2 stars (and I'm being nice)

The place is cozy but our waiter and I'm assuming the owner were more concerned in saying hi to other tables ... Te bread was cold, the calamari was salty, my food the shrimp fettuccine Alfredo I have to say it was tasty .. The house wine Pinot grigio was flat, I'm not sure If I'll go back maybe I'll give it one more chance.. The prices are not bad either ..

The food was good, but the waiter was terrible!!! Our waiter was Mario and he was very rude, he was constantly trying to rush us and was very passive aggressive about it. My friends and I went there to catch up after not seeing each other for months, and were talking when he came by 2 times in 5 minutes and asked us if we were ready to order the last person was looking at the menu and he said "don't forget the kitchen closes at midnight!" it was only 7pm... Then when we finished eating he asked us if we were going to order dessert and when we said no he said "if you do you THEN you can stay and talk longer" mind you we were still catching up and weren't even done with our drinks! Then he left the bill and 2 minutes later came to get the bill, We were still sipping our drinks. Jesus! This is not the place to go if you want to have a relaxing girls dinner. The restaurant was less than 50% full for him to be acting like that, we finally realized he didn't care about the way he treated us because they had automatically added an 18% gratuity to the bill and it was only 3 of us!! Completely dissapointed, i will never recommend this restaurant to anyone who asks.

Am visiting from Hawaii and friends suggested this restaurant. What a gem! We shared the Caprese salad calamari and house salad. The Caprese was huge and a good thing we shared (4 of us). Calamari was tender and not too heavily battered. I had linguine with pesto and shrimp. Absolutely delicious!friends had linguine with clams, filet mignon and catch of the day. Everyone totally enjoyed their meals and oh yes the wine was not bad either. Wish they would open up in Hawaii!! Mahalo for a great meal at reasonable prices.

This is a nice Italian restaurant in the Doral area, not too expensive and the food is very good quality. Started with fried calamari and the Buratta and all was good the Buratta was amazing. Then tried the zuppa di mare, all fresh seafood with a tasty marinara sauce. then tried the veal Milanese, tender yet crispy topped with a arugula salad. The service was very good we had a server with a sense of humor which always make for a better dining experience. definitely a comeback place!

My friend had suggested this place to go for dinner, she had been to the one in Miami springs and loved it. We wanted a close low key place that served good food. This place had it all. We had the calamari diablo for appetizer it was pretty standard, the two of us ordered the fillet Mignon with Parmesan risotto and it was pure perfection, and my other Friend ordered spinach fettuccine in a cream lobster sauce with shrimp and it was very good. the presentation of the dishes was beautiful and the service was good, no issues there. For dessert we all shared a creme brulee , wich I wish we hadn't share because it was sooo Delicious I wanted it all for myself. The only things I didn't like was the size and decor of the restaurant. I mean for type of food and the prices they can do a lot better, it is nothing special. This place is good for like a business dinner or lunch. Also is very quiet, no music no ambiance. just good food, might as well just order to go. I'm glad I tried it though...

We used to frequent this restaurant a lot, the food is very good and has a good atmosphere. They recently expanded the place which has now a private area perfect for parties. Last month was the first communion of our daughter and we decided to make a family lunch at Basilico. I had already had a not very pleasant previous experience with Rodrigo (the owner) for my husband's birthday. He is not very polite and is unorganized, so I asked my husband to talk to them. At the time of booking we asked to speak with the manager, but he declined to show up, so we got on with a waiter and then went with Rodrigo communication via email. The day of the party we arrived, along with our guests and to our surprise one of our tables was occupied and several of our guests had to wait half an hour to be seated! Overall the food was rich, but several of our guests complained about the rudeness of the waiter... But the big disappointment came at the end of lunch. My mom ordered a coffee and the waiter said it was not included in the menu we had chosen. I ask him to please bring my mom the cup of coffee and he refused. After several time going back and forth with the waiter about AN EXPRESSO I asked to speak to the manager, but the man never approached! I showed the waiter in my phone the email where it was described the menu of our contract and he still refused to serve it! Minutes after that he came back saying HE WOULD DO THE FAVOR of giving coffee to my mom but she had to get out of the room and approaching the bar! minutes later the waiter came back saying that he will DO serve coffee to our guest AS A FAVOR!! At this point all I wanted was to leave that place. Basilico gentlemen, please you did not make us any favors, we hire a service to you, which was no accomplish from your part! Very unhappy and with no one to attend to our complaints we pay the bill, which was not cheap at all and left never to come back. You just lost some regular customers and 42 of our guests and potential customers, your loss!

I have only eaten here once. It was great! The calamari is to die for! I normally eat at the other Basilico because I live in Miami Springs, but I actually like this one slightly better. I will definetely be dining here again soon.

I had the pleasure of eating at this restaurant with my inlaws last night. Our waiter could've been the best waiter I have ever had serve us. Alex was extremely helpful recommended a few dishes as we aren't from the area. he then proceeded to make a special meal for my father in law and went above and beyond to make us leave happy. I will absolutely return when in the area and strongly suggest you try them.

Delicious and filling... We had the Gnocci and Linguini De Mar for our entrée. Fried calamari and zucchini for an appetizer. It was yummy and I would love to try the Ravioli next time. =)

Great pastas! Pleasantly surprised by the flavored and quality of the pasta. Will definitely be back to try some more dishes. We had the special appetizer which was the pulpo gallego, light in condiments but still flavor and fresh. My wife had the pear and fig raviolis which were delicious (the figs were a perfect addition). I had the crab meat stuffed raviolis with lobster cream sauce and shrimp. Also fantastic. Pannacotta dessert with a fresh strawberry purée and none of it disappointed. Truly a great place for fresh and flavorful pasta.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
