Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Not going back until the food is better, the orders come out correct, the quality of food is worth the amount charged on our card and/or the tea machine actually has tea in it. Our tab was approximately $22 1 plate with 1/4 cup rice, 1/4 cup beans, 1/4 cup over- salted dry chicken 1 plate with 1/4 cup veggies, 1 over-cooked arepa, 3 slices of cheese Maybe we just got all of the wrong items, or maybe they spent all of capital in the hi-tech menu and not on the food quality.

Excellent service. I had the asado negro and it was delicious. The arepa was perfect.

I came to Amaize on a Saturday at 5:20pm and found that the restaurant was empty but for 1 couple dining in. 2 mechada mix arepas , 2 juices, and a cachapa delight was ordered. I received a number and waited for the food to be brought to the table. About 7 minutes later a young lady comes with 2 arepas and proceeds to retrieve the number from the table. They forgot the juices and dessert. She looked very surprised after I showed her my receipt, but was able to bring the missing items without any problems. I just don't understand how the order was messed up when the restaurant was nearly empty. Aside from that the food was alright. It's definitely overpriced for what you're receiving. The arepas were not crispy on the outside in my experience, as was describe by previous reviewers.

Put this on my hit-list awhile ago. Finally got to go in and check it out. We got there and the place was mostly empty. Must have been during an off time. No complaints from me though... more places to sit and eat and less line to stand in. The menu is on the wall behind the kitchen area. There are also menus at the front of the would-be line. The walls were adorned with all things corn, PAN must be a sponsor. A TV was playing a loop on how to make Arepas. Cool I ordered the black bean and cheese arepa ... called The Dominó combo. It included a side and a drink. I chose the sweet plantain. Grabbed my cup and headed for a table. Near the drink counter, there was a sauce section. A few bottles of red and green sauces. Would have been nice if they were labeled or indicated in some way what they contained. No matter, I filled some cups with whatever was inside and hoped it was hot. The Arepa itself was really tasty. Started out with some crisp on it. The filling of beans and cheese was super yum. But that combination of flavors is pretty hard to get wrong. The sandwich quickly became a knife and fork affair though because the contents sogged down the arepa is short order. No less tasty but quite a bit messier. The plantains were skimpy but good. They added a nice sweetness to the meal. What was inside the sauces? Certainly not heat. Still no idea but I dumped them in the pool and devoured them just the same. The food was good, the location is nice, clean and inviting, the prices are right on the money. It's a great place for a snack or a small meal. If you are hungry you might be eyeballing two arepas! If I was in the area again I would certainly find myself back at Amaize.

We were on our way to Ikea, it was a non traditional time for lunch, but I don't mind that, it's not as busy. There were a couple of other patrons. Upon entering I noticed the colorful decor and I liked it. You wait in line to place your order and I guess since it wasn't that busy one the co workers helped us decide what to eat. Bridgette was more than helpful, she recommended the Mechado mix, which is shredded beef, black beans, sweet plantains and cheese...yummy ;) , I must say it was very tasty but quite large for me, I ended up tearing it apart and having most of the filling. The arepa was crispy on the outside and nice and moist in the inside. To drink we opted for the natural juices they had to offer, the passion fruit was better than tamarind. Next time I'm in the area I will try the cachapa, sweet yellow corn and cheese, looked yummy too... It was a great experience, the service was on point and the portions were decent. PS: I don't know the name of the sauce but it's "the red one" on the side, it added the right kick to our Arepas!

Freaking awesome! Fast food arepas that taste like the mornings of my childhood without the side of Venezuelan guilt? I am sold! Flavors and textures were perfection - I had an arepa de pabellon and it was fantastic except for the plantains which weren't fresh. They were very definitely crappy Goya frozen "platanos" that lazy people serve. Shameful but I can forgive. Their sauces weren't fresh, in fact they tasted spoiled so that was a negative for us. Their marquesa dessert was delicious - again, another dish that tasted authentic and like home. Worth the drive to the hellhole that is Doralzuela and definitely worth the calories.

Full disclosure, I love Venezuelan food! So, either I'm totally biased that I liked this place so much or you can appreciate that I know good Venezuelan food when I have it! Fun, fast casual experience. The place is very modern and clean. The service was super friendly and anxious to help every step of the way. I opted for an arepa with black beans, shredded cheese, and baked plantains. My friend ordered the open faced cachapa. We both loved them. The arepa was fresh and hot. Tons of cheese, major plus for me. We also ordered the arepa chips with lots of homemade dips (they are also available by the condiments area). I liked the green cilantro dip the most, I could put that stuff on anything! We tried their cachapa dessert with Nutella, strawberries and bananas. It was a SWEET ending to the meal. They also have other choices in the case as well. They have a full coffee/espresso set up along with beer/wine. This is their first store and poised to open other stores in the future. BROWARD PLEASE. :) I will definitely be back!

The decor of this place is awesome! It's a "Chipotle-style" Venezuelan restaurant. You walk in, someone greets you and takes your order on an iPad thingie. You then walk to the register, order your drinks and pay and they bring your food to the table. The food was great, I just would have liked the Reina Pepiada would have had more relleno (stuffing) because the actual taste of the avocado mix was just so fresh (Picture Below). I've heard their Cachapas are yummy, I'll be back to try it. Plus, our receipt has a "$5 dollars off your next order" so you bet we're going back ;).

Well made Venezuelan food. Let me walk you through what my first impression felt like; Initially you're expecting someone huge conglomerate is trying to make a profit on Venezuelan comfort food. As soon as you walk in you quickly realize it's as authentic as they come with financially strong investors backing them up. Pan Cornmeal is displayed as decorative items, Arepa makers as well as Amaize merchandise as like a well marketed brand should do. As you get closer you see the many options you can load on your entrees. Hang a left onto the cashier that will take your order you've selected on the menu board up above or a menu they've handed to you. The concept is great, All the Venezuelan goodies are available to indulge such as; Arepas of all kind, Cachapas, Empanadas and Tequeños. The Arepas come with sides as they are considered entrees. I haven't been able to stay away from the Mechada mix which consists of shredded meat, cheese, black beans (caraotas), plantains and wasacaca sauce. You can choose a side and a drink when in Rome you order Parchita (Pasion fruit juice). I've had the Pepper & Goudda soup and the Chupe de Pollo. This place lives up to it's name and I am Amazed =) The arepa is well made hard outer crust soft fluffy inside and toppings just the right amount for you to hold and sink your teeth into. The arepa is presented very well and brought to your table by a number given to you at the register. I am a sucker for good service and great food. This place definitely has both although it's something unheard of to pay close to $8 for an Arepa which is street food in Venezuela. But oh well, the concept is great, the service is impeccable and the food is deliiiish I'm sold !!!

Happened to be going to Chic-Fil-A in Doral when I saw this place and thought how cool! I want to try it! So I stopped in and did. It kinda of has that Chipotle feel to it -- in terms of the restaurant vibe and layout. Ordering style is exactly like a Pei Wei; order upfront, grab a number and sit until your food arrives. I'm new to Venezuelan/Colombian/South America food types. Especially new to this whole stuffing your arepa with amazing deliciousness. My sister's boyfriend who is Venezuelan makes homemade arepas from scratch and gives us an assortment of things to stuff it with: Tuna, Chicken, Ham, Steak, etc. So I enjoyed that I had similar array of options here as well. They already have combinations that are popular and you can also make your own concoction! The main downside for me is that the employees were not too helpful with me as a newbie to this whole experience. I was asking questions like what sauces would go best, what cheeses etc. I know maybe its tedious or annoying for a customer like me, but this is really my first time ordering food like this so I wish they were more forthcoming and open to helping me enjoy this food experience to the max. In the end, I decided on a popular "Beauty Queen" which is stuffed with a chicken salad and heavy avocado mix. Pretty good if you like those two combinations and especially the taste of avocado. I recommend it! I would stop by again, but only with a fellow friend who knows about arepa-cuisine so that they can guide me to some good eats.

Interesting concept, a fast casual eatery serving up Arepas, soups, and other "latin inspired" fare. The food here is decent, I find the soups are really the best part of the meal. The drink bar is self serve, including Pineapple, Mango, and Passionfruit juices for those who want something different from the usual soft drink choices. Portions are big enough to fill me up, prices are reasonable, and service is decently fast for a quick lunch. Worth checking out if you're in the area.

3.5. It isn't bad, but it doesn't rise to it's claim of amaizeeeng! 3.5 because it's still better than Arepazo and just needs minimal tweaking. So it's a great corner location, nice décor, ample space and state of the art ordering concept. But that concept works a little against them in the grand scale of things. The place is new so I'm not as familiar with the menu items, you're immediately greeted upon walking in with a chick and an IPAD whose immediately taking your order. I barely had a minute to digest the ambience and I was already being asked what I wanted for food. I felt the process was rushed and overwhelming. After carefully studying the menu afterwards, I realized I would have ordered a lot more if I'd had a chance to skim over the items better. I got anxiety with just the ordering process cause it was soooooo much pressure as she just stood there staring at me! I quickly ordered the Mechado Mix and my friend ordered the Beauty Queen (see pics) We were rushed over to the registers (only 2) where the intent is to pay and retrieve your cups and/or place any additional requests not requiring the cooks or the IPAD girl. It was pretty busy and our food came out rather quickly. My specialty arepa was difficult to eat. I had to just fork out my insides because the arepa fell apart. I may not have mastered the art of arepa eating though since I usually fork and knife it to avoid touching my food, but it would've been nice to eat like a savage without it falling apart. I also didn't try any of the sauces, I never even saw them! GASP...and sauces are supposed to make things more AMAIZEEEEENG! End result: I ate my arepa and it was good but it was nearly not enough. I should've ordered a cachapa and a dessert and maybe then I wouldn't have been as hungry 15 minutes after lunch.

Me and my daughter were driving around west Doral looking for a quick bite, but we wanted something different. We spotted Amaize close to Chik-fil-a, and decided to give it a try. I'm not very well versed with Spanish-speaking South American style foods (I'm originally from Brazil) but I had an idea what this place was all about. When we walked in I liked the decor, and a friendly hostess (?) gave us a menu and offered help if we didn't know what to order. But the menu has pictures and short descriptions, so it was easy. The focus is on Arepas, corn meal pockets that you fill with anything you want, then bake, grill or fry (they taste similar to the corn bread served at Boston Market). I had an Arepa Combo with white cheese and roasted pork, and my daughter had the Shaggy Combo (shredded beef with gouda cheese), and for desert a Cachapa delight with Nutella and nuts. In summary: all dishes tasted fresh and consistent, lots of flavors and mild spices. Definitively "something different", and a lot healthier than a hamburger and fries. The price is average for a "better" fast food restaurant, a bit on the high side but you get a healthier meal Service was very nice, no complaints. Recommended!

If you are Venezuelan you have to try this place ! It's totally delicious and so authentic that you gonna feel like home! My favorite for breakfast is the arepa filled with perico( scrambled eggs onion and tomato ) so perfect with an American coffee ;)

This Venezuelan restaurant is located in a recently constructed shopping center in Doral. The restaurant itself is very nice, everything has been decorated stylishly. The menu includes food like cachapas, arepas, chupe (soup) and other Venezuelan staples. I ordered a cachapa and my mom ordered an arepa with chicken and a side of chupe (chicken soup slightly creamy). The food was ok, my personal preference is for Venezuelan food from the western side of the country, where cachapas automatically come with nata (slightly salted heavy cream) and aged cheese on top of it. So, the 3 stars is because of my personal preferences only. The prices were good and the staff was attentive. I recommend it and will probably return to try other things.

Place is so tasty! Simple but unique dishes all made in arepas. Very casual, fast service but the overall look of the place is very cute. A had a more popular dish, arepa with shredded meat, black beans, plantains and shredded cheese. The flavor was spectacular and the texture of the arepa brought it all together.

We visited Amaize today and were terribly dissapointed. 1.) Awkward ordering process. In a typical arepera, you order while looking and pointing thru the glass at what you want in your arepa. At Amaize you order when you pay and go to a table and wait for the buzz boy to bring your food. 2.) All the tables had plates and cups from previous customers so we had nowhere to sit. We finally set at a stool bar by the register. The buzz boy was too busy bringing food to tables to bother clearing other tables. 3.) The arepas finally came and they didn't have any "mass" or masa, it was just a very thin crust with the stuffing falling out of it. I had to eat mine fast before it got to saggy and disintegrated. 4.) Conclusion: the arepas were not too bad but I don't think we are going back.

First of all The employee who takes the order should know what's on the menu and offer you different options. I was craving a cachapa with meat and she said that was not an option. Only to find out once I get to the register it is! Cachapa was not great. They charge extra for nata. It is expensive and it lacked flavor. I was expecting a lot more. The restaurant looks nice.... Need to improve service and food

If you want something filling but quick, check out Amaize. They take arepas and serve them in a modern way. It's not a run down abuela and abuelo place. The minute we walked in they were so welcoming and helpful. Because they are brand new they made sure we had a good experience. The cooks in the back were extremely friendly. I ordered the Machedo (shredded pork, black beans, plantains, cheese, and with a personal twist of avocados) and it was great. It wasn't mind blowing, but it was good! My friends enjoyed their food too. One of them is a health freak and found an alternative that fit his taste. I really want to give it 3.5 stars. The food was good and the service was good, but it was just good. There's nothing crazy about it. They messed up one of my friends' orders two times. They quickly and gladly fixed it, but TWO times. If you don't want to go to an arepa joint and leave smelling like arepas or feeling like you're gonna blow up by how filling the food is, then go to Amaize. It's quick, good, and extremely inviting.

Very cute place in Doral! Went with my mom who ordered the arepa with plantains and pork, and I had the open face cachapa with pork, beans, and queso blanco which was delicious! A must try is the sangria and there cachapa dessert with nutella which I thought was off the chain! Overall very delicious and affordable.

Nice environment and food quality. Arepas are very tasty and they offer a variety of combinations. The grilled cheese is amazing but they need to offer more types of juices.

I really enjoyed the food. Amaize is a good place to go if you want to kill a craving, but that's it. The arepas are on the small side and my aunt and I had to share a cachapa on top of our meal in order to feel satisfied. I am sure that as time passes and the staff gains experience it won't be such a mess to order. They have two registers on the ordering counter and then two girls with iPads taking orders from people in line, but you can't pay the girls with the iPad's so you still have to end up going to the registered ing everyone in line confused and annoyed at the people who needed some menu items explained to them. The staff is very friendly, there was a kid who picked up our table and I will go back and ask his name in order to give him credit because he was so nice to my 3 year old, and to me as well. Very polite, and well spoken. Everyone had a smile and seemed happy to be there. The sauces section could use some attention. The bottles were empty and it took them almost an hour to refill them so we ate without any sauces, which was ok because the food was good, but we really wanted sauces as well. It took a little away from the experience. As I said, this place is new but I know it will be great and a 5 star experience next time I go.

  • Cesarina A.

I would give this place 5 stars if it weren't for the green peas in the Reina Pepiada arepa. It was a bit bland in flavor as well. Arepas tasted really good and fresh. Ambience is very refreshing and not what you'd expect from an arepa eaterie. Overall good experience but did not enjoy the meal due to the arepa with a twist of ingredients.

WARNING: Long essay ahead. Horrendous experience. Mind you I've never bothered to write a review before but this just so out there I couldn't help but have to write this. Especially if it seems to show that not other diners had as bad as an experience as I did. When I heard about this place opening up, I was excited. There's not much competition between decent arepa restaurants, so I wanted it so badly to be good. Teach el arepazo a lesson or two for overcharging for their sub par Arepas. That and the owner obviously invested a lot in this business. I went with my girlfriend, excited to show her a dish I grew up eating. The place has pretty good decor and all. The hostess was great, although the ordering process was overly complicated and annoying. They take your order and give you a number, that then you take to the cashier to be rung up. When I pay I notice the workers, busboys, etc are all dispersed and some watching an UFC fight in the lobby, and some kitchen staff were leaning on the counters, drinking soda (could've been on break or what not) but I hear them yell a complaint about the appetizer I ordered (Arepas wedges). I don't pay that much mind, although I don't really enjoy made to feel badly for what I ordered (I work in food service as well, and I can sympathize with annoying order but I don't yell a complaint about it in front of the customer). I sit to a table and I take the number thing with me again. After a while the busboy arrives with our Arepas (I got a beauty queen/reina pepeada and my girl got a chicken arepa with veggies). The busboy seemed annoyed with being interrupted from watching the fight on the tv and set down the Arepas without asking who got what and without saying a word. He started to dash back when I call him back as nicely as I could seen that the guy seemed pissed for reasons to us unknown. They hadn't brought our appetizer before the Arepas. When I tell him this he confrontationally raises his shoulders in a shrug "what appetizer?!" This struck me and I asked my girlfriend if I was imagining the guy being rude to me, or if I had done anything to provoke him. He stormed off when I told him what we got. The Arepas were cold! Any self-respecting Venezuelan knows that nothing is good as a fresh arepa, but this was not at all the case. Eating Arepas can obviously be messy, but my girl took one bite from hers and the whole thing fell apart (the arepa itself not even the filling falling off it). I felt as if they had been microwaved. The busboy then slams the appetizer and I thank him and he leaves again without a word muttered. At this point I'm already sick of the place. As we finished I asked if the manager was in the store as I wanted to give him my comments, as again I really want this place to work and be as great as it looks. I am told by the hostess that he might be by the area kitchen, but she doesn't call him to me, so I have her the short of this, and she apologized. I wasn't gonna go close to that busboy with a rock on his shoulder, it might've start something and my girlfriend was feeling uncomfortable and wanted to leave. Couple weeks after, same busboy, and the food wasn't as bad but still not fresh. This place can be great, the owner is investing for it to be better than this. Que lástima.

I love coming here for lunch I come here maybe once a week. I haven't had anything bad and the arepas are wonderful I love that you have the option to make and choose your own and make it to your liking. I would recommend at least trying it once.

This new place in Doral truly understands their target market - given the Doralzuela crowd that will surely make this a hotspot! Great ambience and tasty modern yet rustic decor, open kitchen setting and digital signage that is easy to read. The owners surely put in a great level of effort and it shows. Today I tried the Shaggy Arepa, made with shredded beef with Gouda cheese. Very tasty meat, not too seasoned and plenty of it. The Gouda cheese was okay, could be a bit stronger. The Arepa wad really tasty, not to thick, moist inside and crunchy outside. They offer the typical Venezuela sauces, my favorite is the Cilantro - they nailed it! The Guasaca was also fresh and flavorful. Overall a great Arepa experience and I would highly recommend it. I shall come back to continue trying their extensive menu - the Cachapa delight had my name on it!

Way over price. They play super snob for a typical Venezuela cuisine, loosing the authenticity, changing the names of the plates to be more american? Mexican, Japanese, Chinese, just to mention the most popular, they keep their ruth as it should be. You know an enchilada is an enchilada everywhere La cachapa super bad taste. Arepas are good but twice of the price than 7 places around the block..

This place is great for casual date, lunch out with the family, or simply to satisfy a typical Venezuelan food craving. LOVED the arepas, especially al the sauces they offer. The place is well and originally decorated, looks super clean and the service is amazing!! The cachapa desserts are probably the best thing; super sweet. If you want to try typical Venezuelan food in the Doral area, this is the place to go. Also, in the month of October they had zero violations during routine inspections, so you are guaranteed that the place is clean :)

Beautiful contemporary ambiance. The food is delicious, the restaurant is spotless, and the staff friendly. If you've never had arepas before, the host will guide you and provide you with suggestions. I had the pleasure to meet the owner. A lot of effort went into the design of the restaurant and passion into the process and end result of the arepas. He made sure that our arepas were served at the right temperature, the right crispiness, and that the grill marks were visible. He took the time to sit down with us, talk to us, and request our feedback. The food (special cheese, avocado, and meat) was very fresh and the price is simply unbeatable. I live in Broward, but I wouldn't go out for arepas anywhere else.

The service was slow; the arepa was delicious BUT my husband and I paid $17 for two arepas and one soda. That's quite pricey for breakfast at a fast food place. I definitely won't be returning.

Very good venezuelan food! They have a fresh and interesting approach to venezuelan food, they use different names and try to make it more us-market oriented, and they've done a good work. Service is good, although a little confusing when ordering, and food is delicious.

Right behind Chickafila. Very nice decoration. Regular customer service (It is a new place) but the Arepas are very good. I tried Reina Pepiada (beauty queen) and Carne mechada (shreded beef) both were very good. Good cafe con leche too. My daughter tried the cachapa con queso. She liked it. Thanks. I will return...

Went there with 3 friends thinking oh it must be good since Doral is known for very good Venezuelan cuisine. To our surprise it wasn't. I ordered a Reina Pepiada (salty) and a Cachapa (terrible! The corn part of the Cachapa tasted bland, like the texture of a pancake but worse) NEVER AGAIN. If you want to try amazing Venezuelan cuisine. Don't bother coming to this place I do in fact recommend Panna Express and Pepito's in Doral area!

  • Mikey A.

This place is one in a long line of areperas which fail horribly at replicating anything resembling an authentic Venezuelan arepa. To add insult to injury, they charge an arm and a leg for the rubbish they serve. Save your money and teach yourself how to make arepas. Chances are you'll do a better job.

    (1)
  • Anabella F.

If it was for looks i would give them 5 stars, the place is really nice, you can see the good taste and effort put into it. As far as the food goes, I'm not impressed! I've eaten twice here, once an arepa, the second a pabellon... The arepa Was definitely better than the pabellon. The meat was very blend, same with the caraotas... Nothing really stands out as far as flavor. I think they need to tweak the recipe a bit or maybe figure it out for large quantities? It really doesn't taste like anything...

  • CJ R.

I have been twice to this place, it is BEAUTIFUL and certainly the owner invested big $$ to show what arepas and Venezuelan food are all about!!, very good arepas and prices are reasonable, definitely way much better than the overrated arepazo!!!! Service is honestly bad, I'd expect that from el arepazo but not from this beautiful place, to me it seems that they have way too many employees, too many youngsters and I may be wrong a huge crowed form TGK or whatever the name is from that correctional center on 72AV and 36st which is appreciated that they are giving a second opportunity to some folks, but I they they have selected too many to the extend that at night you can see them in the back of the place smoking and talking trash like they'd do if they were in overtown or any of those places. Once again, great food, beautiful place but service and staff definitely MUST improve.!!!!!

  • Felix C.

I have eating here now several times and I feel that I can now offer a better opinion of the place based on the experience. Every time I come it seems they are getting better and better, so I can honestly say that the food is great every time, not matter if it's morning, afternoon, night, weekend, this is just a nice place to have a quick, fresh and inexpensive meal. I truly recommend it to anyone who is in the neighborhood.

Loved it! Definitely recommend. Can't wait to bring my boyfriend so he can try some arepas. The cachapas are also good but I would go for the arepas first.

We really enjoy coming to this place. Love de decoration and style but arepas! OMG they are super good, not heavy at all, toasted outside and soft inside and fillings are very flavored. Highly recommended!

Stopped by with some co-workers for Lunch. The place is really nice and really clean. I ordered the Shaggy Arepa (Shredded beef and gouda cheese) with onions, and a Chicken Chupe soup, which was recommended to me by the girl taking my order. I also got a Mango juice which was the highlight of the meal since it was free-refill. So I placed my number down on a table so I can get some napkins and sauces and one of my co-workers tells me that my food is there. Which threw me off because I had just order less than 2 minutes ago. As I sat down to take a bite, the food was cold!!! Not a surprise since it came out fast, the arepa was warm and crunchy but the beef and cheese was cold. The soup was your typical canned chicken and corn soup. My coworkers said the same thing about their food. So i guess everything comes out cold since they prefer to serve fast. I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone because its expensive for what you get.

Ok, what can I say about this place? Food was great, but then again, I only had an arepa with avocado, cheese, sweet plantains, and chicken. Not very hard to mess that up! Service & prices.. Boy, oh boy.. HORRIBLE. Service was absolutely horrendous. The cashier had the worst attitude, got annoyed at my questions, and didn't even know the answer to half the things I asked. The prices were way too high for what it was. Their "combos" or "specials" are a joke, you have to pay for anything extra you want to add to your arepa. They make it out to seem as if it's a great deal and next thing you know your arepa comes out to $10. Stay away; at least until they manage to hire the right staff and change their prices.

The food is awesome. No doubt about it. Although, i do find it a little overpriced for what I'm actually getting. This is only a personal opinion based on other local businesses. I know the arepa is a specialty food from Venezuela so that compensates but it just felt a little over priced to me. Other than that, great food.

Love the food and service. The shredded beef is the best and my friend said the tuna was delicious too. The interior design was neat and creative! 5 stars !

So there will be a few disclaimers in this review, starting with the fact that I have never had, nor had I even heard of, arepas before. But I'm in a new town and willing to try something new. I should have gone somewhere else. Apparently arepas are an Argentinian tacoesque sandwich thingy with a chalupa type corn meal shell. That could be the worse description ever. The corn meal shell actually wasn't bad, and it is a cool concept. I got mine with shredded beef inside and some veggies of course. As soon as I attempted to pick it up (key word ATTEMPTED) it completely exploded on me and I ended up eating it with a fork. Not sure if that is normal or not. The shredded beef was tasty but extremely chewy. I got the baked plantains which were decent but nothing special. Disclaimer #2, I didn't eat anything all day and I was starving! This meal did not come close to filling me up and I will soon be in search of second dinner. I will say, with a drink it was only $10 though, so while not filling, it also wasn't expensive. Seating is okay, and the service was good, except that there was one guy who kept coming up to check on me who didn't speak English. I'm assuming he was asking if everything was okay, but I don't speak Spanish and he could have been insulting me. Maybe my two star review is a little low, but...disclaimer #3...I am having a really bad day and they didn't break that trend, so the rating stays on the low side. Doubt I will be back.

This is what arepas should taste like!!! I had the Asado and gouda cheese and my daughter had ham/cheese and bacon. They were thin and crispy and packed with all the traditional flavors that bring back beautiful memories of being back in Venezuela and enjoying this delicious treat. The décor is beautiful and they have a ton of other goodies in the menu. It's a little pricey I think, but oh-so worth it!!!

YUM! I want to try the rest of the items on the menu. Today, I tried The Mechado mix combo the sweet and salty combines in corn goodness what more can you ask for? Casual dining at it's best. The restaurant seems like its the newest thing in town, glad i made it in before the lunch rush

People what's the big deal about the new joint at the city of Doral. I'll give them 1 star because I need to write a feed back but I am honestly giving them "0" stars because the arepas are expensive and not well prepared. My wife ordered a chicken arepa that Beauty Queen one and she got food poison. I wondered if that chicken was cooked well and also fresh!! I am not eating there again. Save your money and make your own arepas at home. I am 100% certain there will come out ten times better than this place....this place sucks

I went with my wife and three kids, and we had the opportunity to taste the arepas and cachapas. We had an Arepa with Hand Made Cheese, Tuna Salad with Guayanes Cheese and avocado, the Veggy with fried Cheese (just delicious) and a Classic Cachapa. The service was very kind. It was an amazing experience and a great place to enjoy with friends or family. Great Ambience!

The ambiance is laid back and inviting, the menu has lots of options and the staff is super nice, the portions are normal to big and the flavors are good, however the cachapa wasn't amazing but the rest a must try! Can't wait to come back and try something else on the menu.

This is my 2nd review for this place. I removed a star because the wait times have gone up exceedingly. I placed my order at 1:40pm (you order right when you walk in), but then you have to get in a line to pay for the order. I ended up paying for the order at 1:50pm, long line. They up charged me for cheese and beans in my arepa (2.69 extra). Then you sit down and wait for them to bring you the food. The food came at 2:00pm. 20 minute door to food time. Also the food to eat comfortably you need at least 15 minutes. Why so much info on timing? I work in Doral and go to a lot of these places for lunch, and this place is no longer doable without an hour lunch break. The food is still great though. I work across the street and get here in 30 seconds, but you end up waiting so long for the actual food and in the lines that you need at least 35 to 40 minutes for the restauraunt alone (not including drive).

In first Bridgette was SOOOO NICE to guide me where I should begin. I entered in the opposite way, and she greeted me SUPER nicely, took my order, and after I asked her, she nicely taught me how the process for my next visit was. Then, Dora was the cashier and she had a Beautiful smile and warm welcoming, she took my order fast, asked me if I wanted something to drink because I hadn't ordered when Bridgette asked me cause I brought my own coffee, and she even offered me a glass of water when I told her I had my coffee... THAT WAS AWESOME!!!! The Cachapa was AWESOME, and even the plate where it was served was beautiful, likewise the napkins with their logo... AMAZING!!!! After that, my fork accidentally fell on the floor, and I didn't know what to do, so I called Bridgette by her name, and she went fast to get me a new set of utensils. As soon as I was finished, eating, there was Bridgette out of nowhere, asking me if she could take my tray away... Wow! You should be proud of these Team! I'm really AMAZED!!!!

I'm not the biggest fan of Venezuelan food but Amaize might be a new favorite. Of the several hundred arepa places in Doral, this place definitely has the most flavorful combination of meats and other fresh ingredients. You just know when you're eating something that is of good quality and this place definitely gives you quality. I had the Mechado and it was actually amazing. It filled me up but you can add a side for $.99 which seems fair if you're really hungry. They also had really good sauces and 3 options of fruit juices you could get instead of soda but for the same price. The girl who took our order was helpful and friendly, and best of all she spoke English! A rarity in Doral but so nice. Overall I like this place because the food is tasty and inexpensive and the atmosphere is nice.

This place is one in a long line of areperas which fail horribly at replicating anything resembling an authentic Venezuelan arepa. To add insult to injury, they charge an arm and a leg for the rubbish they serve. Save your money and teach yourself how to make arepas. Chances are you'll do a better job.

The ambiance is laid back and inviting, the menu has lots of options and the staff is super nice, the portions are normal to big and the flavors are good, however the cachapa wasn't amazing but the rest a must try! Can't wait to come back and try something else on the menu.

Amazing arepas! Great concept. Something different and very tasty! I will be back soon. And do not be fooled by previous reviews written by ignorant people who think arepas are from argentina.
