Third time around at this place and has gotten better each time the burritos are good and was surprised how good the nachos are good spice on the food and a great hot sauce bar

On a business trip and selected this because I needed something healthy and this looked like it was right up my alley. I checked out the menu online and found that they have a salad (with shell but figured I could remove that). When I arrived at the restaurant I was surprised by how colorful everything inside was and there were so many things to look at while trying to finalize my decision. Can I just say that the woman who helped me at the counter, I believe her name was Amanda, was fantastic! Having never been here before she helped me by offering suggestions to help make my salad as healthy as possible when I told her no cheese and no sour cream. She answered all of my questions and made sure that I was able to purchase a great bottle of hot sauce to go. My salad, which was huge, was comprised of fresh lettuce, tomatoes, fresh jalapeno slices, tomato, onions, fajita veggies, and yummy chicken. The salsa, which Amanda suggested was an awesome alternative to salad dress, was actually my favorite part. The guac was a surprise (on the side) and also wonderful. Not spicy at all but fresh and so creamy. I managed to walk out the door without any chips (yeah me) but next time I will definitely have to get chips and possibly some queso (which will cancel out the healthy quotient here but if the chips are as good as the salad...wow). I did see a large selection of Mexican beers, and the hot sauce bar was a lot of fun. I found several to try with my salad that were really good. I will definitely be back because it's really hard to find people that care about customer service and it's obvious that she did! Actually made my night to have someone be so thoughtful and nice over my chicken salad.

Obsessed with this place!! I go there every Tuesday for 'Taco Tuesday' which is two tacos chips and a drink & I get the smack my a** sweet hot sauce all for only $6! The employees are always super friendly and seem to love their job! Can't beat the price, taste or service!!

We love this place. This is a chain, but this location in Deerfield is the one! The others have more of a strip mall feel. This is in a strip mall just south of Hillsborough on Federal. But the decor, the hand-painted art on the walls and ceiling, as well as the super friendly and efficient staff set this a cut above the other locations. Sort of like Cheers everybody knows my name. It feels like family. We go every Tuesday for the Taco special. Two great tacos, hard or soft, those restaurant chips and a drink for about $5.50. The portions are generous. This is quite a deal. Everything fresh. Then there is the hot sauce bar. What? A dozen or so sauces from sweet and mild to 'death wish' selections like the ghost pepper sauce and the mulyi-layer Endorphin Rush that just keeps coming at you. It is more like Tex-mex than authentic Mexican. But I can't get enough.

Love TJ Flats! Staff is friendly & efficient here. Good selection of hot sauces. They have all my favorites. "Don't Be a Chicken Shit" & Atomic are awesome.

I love Tijuana Flats. I have been to the Original and at least 7 other locations. I've eaten it all over Florida. And this is the first one I just don't think lives up. First, their employees aren't as helpful as others in the area. I am never really offered free refills here, or at least not as often. The last time I went, the guacamole has browned and tasted seriously wrong. When we returned it, they seemed to know something was wrong because others had complained but 'maybe it just needed more salt.' They did end up switching it out for queso, but if others have had issues, why are you serving it still? Each time i have gone, my quesadilla is one bite of meat, a bite of onion, a bite of black olive, and a bite of sour cream, not mixed at all. some slices lack an entire ingredient all together. I am sad that this is the location close to me for lunch because it means no Tijuana Flats for lunch until this one's quality gets better.

I Have been going here since they opened. I have tried other locations, but prefer this one. Be careful if you are vegan or do not eat cheese. The refried beans contain cheese. Order the black beans instead. They usually prepare your order correctly here. They really take the time to get things right.

Love it! Great prices, good fast, we love the atmosphere. My son loves the different sauces. It's nice to sit outside. We love the beef tacos, salsa and queso sauce. Staff is great and friendly, very accommodating.

Good service. Good food. Good menu. Clean interior. Went here twice in three days. Had tacos, burrito, and tacos again. The food tasted very fresh. The jalapenos were quite big...Had to take them out. I definitely would go back.

We placed orders for five people. Everybody was greatly dissatisfied. The Nachos were all tortilla chips and little else (no avocado, sour cream, beans or shredded cheese). None of the Tacos had any filling to speak off. Tu summarize: it was a rip off.

It's fast food. Adjust your expectations. That said, it's a decent place. It's kind of like a funky Moe's, in terms of food and price. Which is not bad. You order at the counter and they bring your food to your table when it's ready. I usually get a burrito, which are good. They can get pretty busy on a work day around lunch, so don't necessarily expect to pop in and out. The service is very attentive. Price: A Food: B-/C+ (good for fast food) Atmosphere: C+ (it's a little fast food joint, come on) Service: A

Similar menu to chipotle, but worse quality ingredients, less flavorful, and about the same price. The selection of hot sauces is kind of cool, though. It's not bad, but there's better. I'll eat there if I'm nearby and hungry.

I love Tijuana Flats! Done in the now popular fast food style where you order/pay at the register and then an employee will drop it off to your table when it's done being made. Very quick and efficient. Food is fresh and yummy. The atmosphere is fun with awesome custom paintings and a huge wall mural. My absolute fav part? The crazy good hot sauce bar with a massive selection of sauces. Not only do I love all things spicy, but I may love condiment hoarding even more. This place caters to me in that respect. :) Tacos are massive, portions are big in other dishes they serve up, staff really friendly. Great place to get your grub on for pretty cheap. Oh, they also sell their hot sauces at the counter for 5 bucks a bottle. Find one you like (or in my case, 3) and take it home with you.

Great food at an excellent price. But even better than the food, the service. They were so accommodating to my large family which can be overwhelming for others. Only visiting but will come back when in town. Nicest people I've met so far. Thank you.

Amazing everytime. Fresh food, great sauces, fast service. Only downfall is not all sauces are always available. Friendly staff.

It's your basic Tex-Mex with a hot sauce obsession that right by me. I pretty much order the same thing every time I go and every now and then I try something different. Taco Tuesdays - 2 large tacos with your choice of stuffing and fixings with a small side of chips and a drink : 5.00 plus tax = not a bad deal at all. Aside from their tacos, which are good, nothing to write home about, their other selections are just as solid. The chicken on the salads have been questionable lately but it hasn't been so bad that I would avoid it altogether. Sometimes they are good, other days they are mehh. I love their ice. I love their hot sauce bar. I love that they are right around the corner from me. If you sign up for e-mails, which are few and far in between, no spamming I promise, you will receive deals for buy one get one, which is not a bad idea.

Best hard shell tacos around. I get them with re-fried beans on the inside! Love that they have a hot sauce bar as well. Stop by for a really quick bite to eat!

This is a good restaurant. I prefer to special order my tacos with no lettuce or tomatoes. There are always a few errant pieces of lettuce and tomatoes in my tacos. I am not sure why they can't get this right. My guess is that they spill lettuce and other items on the bin with the cheese. If you don't mind that small issue, the food is pretty good. I really enjoy the chocolate chip cookie dough floutas.

I had a horrible experience of food poisoning after I consumed 2 Beef Tacos. I was violently ill, vomiting and diarrhea for several hours coming very close to going to emergency room. While speaking with the manager this morning he said he was "sorry" and wanted to compensate me with coupons. Thank you, but no, I will never step foot into another Tijuana Flats, nor will my family members. I hope and pray no one had to go through what I experienced. Clean up your act guys!!! I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.

I'm giving them another star for service... We ordered from here for lunch, this time takeout. Must say I was very happy with their service this time. As soon as we walked in the door we were greeted, and helped immediately. Our order was ready and the girl double checked everything we had ordered was there. Friendly and fast service definitely a plus. This time the guacamole was definitely better than last time and chips were fresh. Oh, and when at the restaurant they have a lineup of sauces for you to choose, from mild to "suicidal". They have a comfortable size restaurant for those who prefer eating there. So 3 ways to try this place: eat in, take out, or delivery.

The staff at this location is great. I have been to other locations that were pretty slow but these guys are always on the rush. Ive definitely visited here enough to earn dukedom but I just joined yelp. Only downfall to me is the occasional incorrect hot level at the sauce bar. Not hot enough sometimes to get a death wish designation.

Ehhhh.. I used to love the steak chimi.chonga. The chicken is kinda like a crappy quality chicken they use .I don't like it. The vegi (hard) burrito with black beans and rice with their sweet chilli or Georgia peach sauce is good.but I could eat a paper bag with those two sauces on it. Cool decorations though like a Cali skate park painted inside pretty cool A few plastic chairs good place to have a Corona

The big selling point here is the diverse selection of hot sauces. I'm a certified spicy food addict, so this definitely speaks to me. The tacos and burritos are good, but there are certainly better and more authentic options elsewhere. All you really need to know is that this place is good, fairly cheap and if you're not crazy about what you order you can drown it in half a dozen or more different sauces. Give this place a shot if you're obsessed with pouring hot sauce on your food like I am.

Ehhh - I cant even list the amount of better and more authentic Mexican/ Spanish food in the area...... DO YOU REALLY NEED 20 HOT SAUCES ???

This is a great lunch type of place with good mexican food & fast /efficient service. Their tacos are better than any I've ever had in Florida. They also have a hot sauce bar - ranging from mildest to hottest! You get to sample any or all of them till you find the ones you prefer, which I must say is quite fun & rare to see! Highly recommended if you're in Deerfeld beach & looking for a quick tasty bite with a kick!

I love this Tijuana location! Everyone on the staff is so friendly! I'm vegan so I have to be very picky about what I eat so when food gets made wrong in my case it is unfortunate. But this Tijuana location has NEVER messed up my order and I've been coming here at least once a week for about 3 years. That is something that stands out the most to me! They also have very fast and efficient service! I definitely recommend this store!!

Tijuana Flats is, without a doubt, my most favorite restaurant in Broward County. Living right up the street off SW 10th, I come here all the time. The food is superb, the hot bar is a great touch, the atmosphere is fun and casual (there are so many things to look at!), and the service is almost always flawless. Try checking it out on Taco Tuesdaze -- you get two tacos (hard or soft shell), tortilla chips, and a regular size beverage for $6. It's a great deal. Once you've basked in the glory of this delicious slice of Tex-Mex heaven, be sure to order some cookie dough flautas for dessert. They're quite possibly the most delicious things I have ever put in my mouth.

It was OK, I liked that the menu had more options than Chipotle. I was not a fan of waiting so long for my food, I figured it was a "fast food" sort of place. Food was decent but not excellent. Better options abound in the neighborhood.

Tijuana flats is my ultimate fave fast food tex-mex. The atmosphere is fun, fresh, and inviting. My fave pick is the Whole wheat dos soft tacos stuffed with blackened chicken and black beans, fully loaded, with the lo cal cheese and sour cream options. The sauce bar is the bommbbb! Smack my ass and call me Sally jalapeno hot sauce is my fave. I slather it all over my food and load it in the queso. Fuck yeah. Just remember to save the rest of your day for the toilet. Good luck.

Maybe I should've just had a burrito and taken advantage of the extensive hot sauce bar, but I was in the mood for something fresh so I went with a salad. It was ok, not much flavor except for the surprise fresh jalapenos, arranged haphazardly on a whole wheat crispy tortilla. I liked that the tortilla was whole wheat, but not much else. The avocado ranch dressing tasted old. I did have quick shots of hot sauce while I was waiting, and the papaya-ginseng and one with worcestershire sauce were very tasty. I'd try this again but not for salad.

The food is great here! Everything is made to order and the veggies are fresh. I like the Beef Tacos with rice and beans. The guacamole is REALLY good too. I always get that to go. They also have a lot of good sauces. My favorite is "Smack My Ass and Call Me Sally." Definitely worth a try.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
