So we've been back three time since the original review. The brick oven wings are phenomenal! I would have them as an entree they are that good. The salamino pizza is strikingly well balanced. The honey with the spicy sopressata play perfectly off each other. The other thing worth mentioning is the meatballs. Tender and delicious!

We had 5 people in our party and a create your own pizza with xtra cheese it was cooked perfect! My sister and I had the muscles appetizer. A good size portion in a garlicky wine sauce...delicious!! And finally the steak salad....also a good size portion! Fabulous service too!! Will definitely be back!

This is a nice, upscale Italian restaurant in downtown DeLand that has a solid selection and great atmosphere. I tried the Gluten Free pizza and ended up with a sausage and red pepper pizza that was incredible. My friends and I all enjoyed ourselves and visited this spot for a business lunch. The decor is great and it's a newer place so everything is very clean and well-kept. This is a great option for a casual lunch that can also work as a more formal meeting, and I will definitely be returning!

Great service. Chopped salad was delicious. Pizza was amazing. We tried three different pizzas and each was carefully made and fresh out of the oven. "I'll be back." :-)

The parking for this place can be hard as there are only a few spots on the street but look behind the building or to the north side of the building. Upon entering we were greeted very kindly and sat down. Service was great too. The appetizer platter is reasonable and tasty. Just a bunch of fried items but done well. I order the specialty prosciutto pizza. It was cooked to perfection. It will definitely be going back. The pizza prices are reasonable but the other entree times seemed a bit high - I wonder if they are that much better tasting. Guess we will have to see next time. Bar area looked very welcoming also. Great place to host something.

My husband and I reserve our Friday night as our own special "date night". Tonight We decided to try someplace New on the downtown strip, which is something my hubby isn't too big on. We had a great time. It wasn't too hot out, which was a nice surprise. My hubby found Forno Bello on the south end of the Boulevard. It was quaint and nicely decorated. The staff was quick and attentive. They were not too crowded and we were seated immediately. A server came to take our drink orders immediately. I ordered a glass of homemade Sangria which came with a beautiful thick orange slice with a nice fresh slice of lime on the rim. Hubby ordered tea which also had a lovely fresh slice of lemon on the rim. Nothing turns me off like a wilted, underripe or rotten garnish. These were lovely which was a great start. We ordered our meals when the drinks were promptly delivered along with a basket of homemade bread and real butter. Hubby ordered a big spicy panini sandwich that arrived with waffle fries. He loved it! I ordered one of the specials, Shrimp Spinachi. My meal came with a choice of garden or Caesar salad or soup of the day. I got the soup which was a delicious, light mix of a light chicken broth with carrots and celery and something similar to won tons, but were a type of Italian raviolis. It was very tasty. The meal was delicious as well. There were large pasta noodles I had never experienced before, similar to manicotti noodles cut into large rings. They were accompanied by a delicious creamy white sauce, 4 huge shrimp prawns, wilted spinach, (I would have liked a tad more spinach to compliment the overwhelming amount of thick pasta), then topped with raw leek slivers. I asked for some cheese for the top and our server brought me a cup of freshly shaved parmagian cheese. All in all we had a delightful experience. The food and service were great, the food delicious, fresh and we'll prepared, and the atmosphere was nice. This is definitely a place we will return to. Also, though I did not visit the kitchen or restrooms, things seemed clean and it did not smell dirty. It was very enjoyable indeed. As we were leaving we were met by the owner or manager who inquired how we enjoyed our visit, our food, and whether or not we would be returning. We told her that we definitely would be back. Our meal was reasonably priced and cost less than Olive Garden or Red Lobster, and the food seemed much fresher and less frozen or pre-prepared. I can't wait to go back. Definitely worth trying!

I really enjoyed my experience here. This is a real wood fire pizza place. The pizzas are thin and slightly charred; a very tasty Italian style pizza. Service: our waitress was top-notch! She had plenty of suggestions and was an endless fountain of knowledge about the food, wine, beer, etc. She was extremely helpful and attentive. She came to the table with a smile and a great attitude every time. Her name is Sarah and she's the best! Food: Excellent! We had the Popeye and the Eggplant Margarita pizzas and the waffle fries for an appetizer. We topped it off with a Nutella pizza. Absolutely loved it all! Especially that Nutella pizza. *drool* Price: decent. Comparatively speaking, the prices are slightly higher than many places however, the food and service make up for it. I will be back for sure. Give it a go!!

Third time at this restaurant in late December and had a lovely dinner. Our server was very eager to do well but I think he needs a little more training. We also noticed a female who spent most of her time behind the bar, not in a server's uniform. She seems to be a bit harried at times and I wasn't impressed with her way of interacting with the staff. One other thing, each time we've ordered entrees here, the bread mentioned in the menu gets "forgotten". Not sure why this is but we've had to ask the server for it every time. I'll say again, we love Forno Bello and will continue to dine there but just wanted to mention a few things that might need "tweaking".

Everything is almost good, but except of one thing, which is there is a female not good. I'm not sure who is she because she doesn't wear uniform, but her attitude is not very well.

Tip to a great Italian dinner: Preheat oven to 400 Go to Public and buy a Stouffer's frozen lasagna. Heat. Serve. Avoid this place. You're welcome!

Came to DeLand to spend Christmas with the in-laws and they brought us here for dinner. The decor, music and enthusiasm of the wait staff was great but I have two additional words - FOOD POISONING!! I had the lobster ravioli and spent the entire night (in the bathroom) regretting this decision. Not a nice way to spend a Christmas visit with new in-laws. Three of the others in the party had shellfish too (shrimp & mussels) and they were fine so it looks like I get a bad serving. Lastly the service though enthusiastic, it was slow. I think the servers are covering too many dispersed tables on either side of the restaurant, and the "servers in training" spent most of their time putting napkins and cutlery together for bussing.

I always have very nice service. I like the lunch specials they offer. Very good Italian food.

Gave them another shot this week and was let down again. Our server forgot to put in the ap order so it didn't come out until after we'd gotten out meals. She took our food order exactly 30 minutes after we were seated. She was running around the whole time we were there. I don't know what the issue is, but again I get the impression the wait staff is really trying. Meals still came out staggered with the first one being served 15 minutes before the last. No offer to comp. the appetizer even though we didn't get to eat most of it. It's a shame because the food is pretty good. But it seems like large parties (6) are too much for them to handle.

My son found this Italian Resturant on the south side of downtown Deland. We came here for Valentines day lunch. Pizza for an appetizer was a great start. The Frutta Di Mare for two was plenty for my son & I to have. Lasagna, spaghetti & meatballs for the ladies and a picture of Angry Orchard to share made the meal great. Our server was Josephine and she did a great job keeping us well cared for. We will all return again.

I've been eating here pretty frequently. The pizza's were good, the service in the restaurant was always poor. We got to where we always just ordered take out pizza. The second to the last time we went the pizza was different and wasn't good. We asked for the sausage and broccoli rabe pizza and were told they were out of broccoli rabe. Went the last time and was told they weren't going to make that pizza anymore and that there were new owners. This was about a week ago. So now even the pizza won't be good. I won't be going there anymore. The quality of the crust and sauce has already diminished.

My husband and I love to go to downtown DeLand to have dinner dates at the local quaint cafes. My husband and I had a delicious dinner and the staff was personable and attentive. The overall ambiance was spectacular. The uniqueness of the brick oven was great and they make the pizzas right in front of you. We can't wait to go back and bring our son back to see the staff making the pizzas. We had a very enjoyable experience and we are looking forward to our next visit.

If you are originally from NY or NJ. Give this place a try. The pizza is phenomenal and the eggplant rollatini is truly the best I have ever had. It is such a delight to have such a local gem like this! Love it

Until tonight, one of my favorites-----they've changed chefs. They need to go hire their old chef back pronto! It wasn't awful, it just is no longer a stand out.

We came up from orlando to go to AnnaBananas next door, they recommended it. Wow! I was so impressed ! Food was really good and the place was so clean and well done. This owner knows what they are doing. Deland is very fortunate to have this place. I hope the best for them and we will drive an hour just to come here.

We have only been here once. The food was ok. I asked for the spicy sauce, but it was soooo bland. The service was ok. It was lunchtime, so they weren't super busy. I may try a pizza next time.

Food was good but the owner, smaller lady with black hair. Had to be the rudest owner ever. Are you really trying to get business? I will never recommend regardless if the food is good. She is horrible.

Ate here yesterday. Not too bad. Ordered a meatball parm sub & meatballs were definitely frozen with hardly any marinara. Antipasto salad and onion rings were very good however. Very friendly and good service. Would recommend.

Tiramisu was amazing, the sauce on the Chicken Parmesan would have benefitted from some herbs. We had to flag down a waiter because no one came to our table. The tiramisu was so good that we still had a good experience.

This was one of our favorite restaurants in Deland and their wood-fired pizzas were fantastic. Unfortunately, we understand it's now under new ownership and it's noticeable, and not in a good way. We were there last week and ordered our usual large Greek salad and when it arrived we were surprised to find it was MUCH smaller and contained a fraction of the feta it used to have. It lacked the sun-dried tomatoes it used to have and when we asked the server about this we were told they could be added for. additional cost. We'd ordered two pizzas and my wife's pizza came burnt, not with the typical dark/ charred spots often found on any true wood-fired pizza but it was virtually black all over the underside of the crust and much of the edge was inedibly burnt. When we pointed this out to the server she brought back a woman (new owner or manager??) who told us that wood fired pizza was supposed to be burnt that badly, which is nonsense. A few days later I ran into friend who was also a regular here and he told me he'd just had dinner there and noticed a big drop in the quality. I'm willing to write off this bad experience as an anomaly due to new management and give it one more try, but if it doesn't improve we won't be back, which is a shame since it was truly one of our favorites.

This was my second visit, and I had a horrible customer service experience. Went in for lunch with a friend. My friend wanted a light lunch and inquired about a lunch portion of pizza, which she was told was not available to her. She then inquired about a lunch portion of pasta, and was told by our server that it could only be done if she purchased a side of plain pasta and a side of alfredo sauce and mixed them together. I haven't encountered such inflexibility in a long time -- the majority of restaurants I frequent will allow someone to order lunch portions (perhaps not at a weekday lunch price on a weekend, which is entirely understandable) or order off of the children's menu if they would like a smaller portion. We wound up leaving without lunch and won't return, despite the fact that we both really enjoy Italian food. I've received better service elsewhere in town and will stick with those places.

This was my first time to visit this new restaurant in DeLand. Glad to see a new restaurant in the area. My wife and daughter first visited this past Tuesday and said they had a good meal, both having panini sandwiches. My wife made reservations for the weekend for her birthday. When we arrived the reservation made previously was not in their system but we were soon seated. We orders appetizers, salads and meals. The dinner salads came first, then the appetizers. Fried ravioli and mozzarella sticks. The ravioli was good as was the dipping sauce. Soon to follow but not rushed came the meals. First a Greek salad, a few minutes layers to more plates with an apology that they other meals were not done. A few minutes later two pizzas were brought out. One was burned on the bottom, about half of it. Pizza was unremarkable. Other dishes were basic at best without garnish and no real presentation. My wife had rigatoni which she liked. Her mom had lasagna which was not layers like your would expect. Just a layer of pasta, then filled with a scoop of beef. When paying I asked the waitress for a discount on the burnet pizza, expecting it to be removed and the manager to stop by for some guest recovery. We did get a break on the pizza price but in real apology for the waitress and nothing for the manager. They could do better. For me, service was slow, there was a lack of attention to detail in the meal preparation. Not sure I would go back. Hopefully they will improve and be successful.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
