I love the subs from this establishment, I have been going to the older location on Stirling road for quite some time. I visited the new location and I guess "Mrs. M", the wife of the store owner, was working - Never in my life have I met someone so rude. A little heads up, if you have a new location and would like people to come back to your establishment, I strongly suggest you change your attitude. I have worked in a sub shop for over 10 years, and continue to on Saturdays just for fun. Being in the industry, your customer service skills are extremely important. Do yourself a favor Ms. M - leave the sub shops to your sons, who are extremely pleasant, and even your husband because clearly the old age is getting to you. This woman made me not want to return to either of the Mr. M's subs hops for the simple fact that I'd rather give my money to an industry like Subway or Publix, then to support an old hag like that.

First off, customer service is excellent so I will not knock that at all. Why I do give it a two star rating though is its wayyyyy overpriced. I almost wanted to walk out but felt cheap and figured I might as well try something new. With a Subway being right across the street I figure they'd want to try to compete with them price wise even a tad bit. I also then expected maybe the sub would be extra special based on such an expensive price, but again nothing special.

It All starts bad and goes down hill!!! The first day we went I spent $25 for combos, Really that ridiculous and the sandwiches were mediocre at best that should have been an indication. Than a few days later I made the mistake of coming back to this place! Well my bad experience continues I ask the girl for 2 Tuna melts on rye with Swiss cheese we waited probably a good 20 min which is silly and they have the gull to say that certain items need to be grilled and take longer seriously were just talking about sandwiches. So after a forever wait finally I get them and I immediately notice that the girl who never listened to me she had them put it on cheddar so I tell this guy who I think is the manager you guys messed up I asked for it with Swiss he proceeded to charge me not telling me the amount $$$$$$ 18.00 really again Robbed!!!! So as we waited the manager comes out and proceeds to scold me saying you should tell the girl next time it's Swiss and I said I did it seems she was to busy too to pay attention since she was training another employee. So as to not get upset I keep my mouth shut! Than after 5 min the unthinkable happened the manager brings me back the same sandwiches $18 with partial cheddar that was wiped off and Swiss cheese added instead of making new ones, really I was so hangry that I just ate the pile of Swiss cheddar and burnt bread mush with a sloppy mess Of Tuna!! I will never be back!!!! Ps if a customer tells you he said Swiss its your employees responsibility to repeat back the order not for you guys too assume that I never asked.

The sandwich I had was yummy. I ordered the philly cheesesteak with a drink and a chocolate chip cookie (which was free for checking in on Yelp). The philly was pretty good, but the meat had chunky pieces instead of shredded meat. The meat was also a bit dry. The chocolate chip cookie was gooey and yummy and fresh. The service was a bit slow. There was one person at the counter taking orders and one person in the back cooking/making sandwiches. Overall it was pretty good, and I will probably come back to try something else.

-1 star for slow service. As a student at Nova across the street, we only have a limited time for lunch, usually less than an hour between classes. I came here and there was 1 person in front of me. I ordered the tuna melt, with no special instructions an

By far the best sub shop hubs and I have been too!! Super friendly staff and clean environment. Hubs ordered a turkey and I ordered the tuna. Tuna is amazing!!! Must try! The bread was soft and extremely fresh! The lettuce, onions, and all the veggies on the sub were shaved! Was just such a great experience, we will 100% be back! Good work Mr. M!!

Hubby swears by Mr. M's in Dania, and we like to stop there on the way to FLL. I am not a fan of crowds though, so I haven't been back there in awhile. However, today, I stumbled on this newer location, and I thought I would give it a try. It's kind of tucked back in the plaza there, so unless you go in, you may not see it if you are driving by. I had the Philly Cheese Steak, and it was delicious. My only complaint was that it had a lot of gristle, but the flavor was outstanding. UPDATE: At the suggestion of the owner, I went ahead and ordered the cheese steak again, and like the first time I tried it, the steak was delicious. The difference this time was the meat was gristle free, so it was perfect! I have been back to Mr. M's several times and really appreciate the convenience. I phone my order in and it is ready when I arrive. The counter area is spacious, so even if there are a lot of people, it doesn't feel like everyone is on top of each other. The staff is friendly and never let anyone wait without asking if they have been helped. As for my favorites, I would say that the meatball sub is my favorite hot sub, although after today, the Philly steak is a close second, and the tuna melt is right up there too. I have found the bread here to be the freshest tasting of any Sandwich place I have been to in the area. It really puts these over the top! I am updating my review to 5 stars. I think when the weather heats back up again, I will be trying the roast beef. That looks pretty awesome too!

The best ever! I am pregnant and this is what I've been craving! I love love love the subs here.. Great jobs guys! I know people complain all day long and you are never going to make everyone happy! That's life!! But we are super happy!!!! Also Thank you for keeping your deli old school... Your staff is awesome and always smiling. The food is A++++.. Bread is fresh and perfect... I'm a boars head person and scared to eat anything else but the meat here is outstanding! Very happy to give a small business my money! Think I'll be eating there again tomorrow... 3xs this week! Great job guys!

Awesome sub shop to stop by for a quick, delicious, affordable lunch. The service is friendly, and always on point! The owner and staff do a really good job of keeping the establishment clean and the food fresh. I usually try to come in once every week or every other week during lunch hour and I always receive my food ready in less than 10 minutes which is incredible! I've tried a couple of the subs, but my favorite will always be the super mixed Italian sub... it is just perfect! Extremely tasty! And only for just about $5.00, talk about an amazing deal! They also serve extremely large servings a 6 inch is pretty much like eating a foot long for a really great price! Also if you're a NSU student you also get a 5% discount on your bill when you show your student ID. I've only been to Mr. M's a few times, and I know I'll definitely be back again soon!

I am so happy they have this new location because it's closer to my house. The food tastes exactly the same and they even have some of the same staff from the other store. They recognized me when I walked in and the best part is that they remembered what I usually order!!! The subs come stuffed with meat and loads of veggies. The menu is huge and their hot subs are great too. I really wish they had Mountain Dew in the fountain but, they have loads of drinks to choose from like Birch Beer and Dr Browns. Yum!

  • Edward A.

The best place for a sub and I find an excuse to go there every time I'm in the area. My two all time favorites are corn beef and pastrami and shrimp salad. I don't like soda but again, find an excuse for the birch beer when I'm there They are a bit odd since they add onions, bell peppers, pickles and tomatoes to any sandwich, but not lettuce mayo, mustard or vinegar unless you ask for it. My father and I have been a fan for years and now they've added soups and salads to their menu. I know I'll be there again soon.

Horrible! Never going back! Selection is absurd and management unfriendly. Food is literally one step above canned meat. No thank you!

I grew up on Mr Ms Subs. Classic and different than your typical Boars Head meats. Love there tuna and meats.

  • Natali W.

I have been eating at Mr. Ms since 1996 and I absolutely LOVE this place. After reading some of the negative comments, it is really disheartening to see how rude some people are to a staff that ALWAYS and I MEAN ALWAYS goes above and beyond to make sure the customer gets what they want, and how they want it. As for lack of topping?!? That is literally absurd. They have everything you can think of besides black olives. They have been making the subs without them for close to 40 years and as the saying goes, if ain't broke don't fix it. When I come with my daughter, she walks in and knows right away what she wants, and the staff and sub makers always oblige. They even let her get away with being a little rowdy. Anyway, I will be coming here for as long as they're open. They make every customer feel like they're important. I love that about a business. Keep doing what you do Mr. Ms.

I tried this sub shop today for the first time. It is right by my house and I am regretting waiting so long to try it. I ordered the Italian, and it was excellent. I didn't anticipate the sandwich being as huge as it was. I had half for lunch and am saving the other half for dinner. I especially like the extra thin ribbons of onion and green pepper that come on all the subs. I will definitely be back, and highly recommend this place!

  • John R.

Food isn't bad, service was very friendly! My biggest gripe is the price. I paid $14.56 for a 12' Philly, a small cup of macaroni salad and a regular soda. Yikes! Wasn't prepared to spend that much at a simple sandwich shop. The $$$ is the only thing that would keep me from returning.

  • Jamie C.

This sub shop is awesome!!! Fresh and delicious First time I had the pastrami on wheat and wow what a deal!! They pack it on like no place else. Also had the roast beef sub here. Excellent sandwich and I am picky with roast beef but this was perfection. The breads and fresh and soft. Don't forget the soups. Split Pea is my fav!!! Must try this place! Keep up the good work guys

I am so happy Mr. M's has a new Davie location not too far from my work! I have been going to the Stirling Road location since my teens and I am a huge fan of their subs, especially the rare roast beef sub, it's so good!!! I am thrilled that the quality and flavor was the same as their original location. Their new building offers plenty of indoor and outdoor seating in a newer strip mall, located right across the Nova campus. Staff was pleasant and service was fast. Order at the counter and pay when you receive your food, same as Stirling. I can't believe someone would actually compared it to Subway, the quality is definitely far more superior, and maybe it is slightly more expensive than Subway, but you get what you pay for.

Mr M's has been around a looong time, the Stirling Rd location has anyways, from almost day one been popular because of it's location. It's surrounded by warehouses and other blue collar businesses and lord knows a good Sub is staple food stuffs for the American working class, coast to coast. This review is about the newest location in Davie which my wife discovered and turned me onto. Most of us blue collar folk back in the day were okay with eating crap-food, wiping our mouths with our sleeves satisfied to live to see another day but the original Mr M's lifted us up by our boot-straps and made something of us. We could now finally recommend to our friends' friend's rich cousin at a party where to go for very good food, and not the other way around. Mr. M's is beloved by grown up's who have had their food, simply because everything is super fresh with quality ingredients, no frills. Mr. M's is no Subway, not even close. You'll never see a $3 'SouthWest Freshy with delicious Chipotle Cheddar Armadillo Snout Sauce' or the popular 'Rave Glowstick Dorito Skittles Cheez Whiz Melt' at Mr. M's, it's all old school 'Meat & Potato's' without the Potato's. Both locations's food is similar but I have to mention the Owner/Operator of the Davie location, Paul. I myself have never met Paul but my Wife has numerous times and gives him the thumbs up on being a total professional, running a tight ship etc, great food etc. She's almost always right about everything so I take her word for it. I myself recommend firstly the cold Roast Beef Sub with whatever fixings you like, both locations serve truly rare Roast Beef, the way us manly-manly-men like it. Secondly, their cold Smoked Turkey Subs. If you add bacon to it you'll remember my name forever. Thirdly, and this is weird, their Jewish-Style Deli Sandwiches are honestly pretty damn good. I mean really good if this is a Gentile owned/based Establishment as I am thinking it is. I'm not Jewish I'm the blonde Goy your Bubbe doesn't mind you hanging out with (much) but I was born and raised down here and know where to nosh so I've had the best. Mr. M's Pastrami on Rye and the Reuben would satisfy every Jewish friend you have outside of Brooklyn, Miami Beach and/or Boca. Like I said everything is fresh and quality, in my opinion both locations are in the top 5 best sandwich shops in Broward. Lastly sorry about the crap pic of my sandwich, I didn't realize it was that bad until I saw it online and had already eaten half the Sub. I later discovered after looking at the lens on my phone, there was an old fingerprint in curry sauce or something (I'm not kidding).

Good place to have lunch. I ordered a turkey sandwich and was so glad that I got the half portion, I was satisfied because they give you lots of meat! Great place, friendly atmosphere.

I've tried the Turkey sub and Philly cheesecake sub. Both are very delicious and fresh and I never wait more than 15 minutes for a cold or hot sub. The employees are very nice as well.

Sub wars have intensified in Davie in the last year. What do you expect in a college town? For a long time, as far as independents, Laspada's was clearly king with some competition from Sub Cafe and Davie Sub & Sandwich. You also could not leave out Tower Deli, with its delicious deli sandwiches and paninis. We also have most of the chains: Subway, Jimmy Johns, Firehouse, and new to the block Panera (technically not subs but they do offer sandwiches & Paninis) New to town this past year is Mr M's Sandwich Shop. Although I had once lived in Hollywood, I had never been to Mr. M's Hollywood location, and when I first saw their sign, I was excited to try this new addition to our neighborhood. Mr. M's does not disappoint! It serves a variety of subs and deli sandwiches, although don't expect too much creativity. It's meat is freshly sliced and the bread is soft. The amount of sandwich filling can depend upon what you order. They certainly are not stuffed like LaSpada's. Lately when my kids ordered tuna and Philly cheese subs they seemed skimpier than usual. The prices range from $4.79 for a 6 inch to $7.99 for most 12 inches. Some of the more elaborate 12 inches or hot 12 inches are $8.99. The hot sandwiches are made right on the grill and include everything from Philly cheese, to meatball parm, and grilled ham & cheese. We have had them all at one time or another and they are all excellent. There are, however, two main reasons Mr. M's has become the sub shop of choice for our family: 1) TUNA - my boys are addicted to Mr. M's tuna. It is white meat tuna, tastes fresh, is not too fishy, and is just yummy. I do wish they would jam a bit more on subs as it is truly awesome! 2) SOUP - I am a soupaholic and I love a place that has good soup. Most sub shops do not even have soup at all. Many times for for a quick dinner the boys will have tuna subs and I will get a large soup. Of course, the split pea is my favorite. I try to stay away from the cream soup, although I have had the clam chowder and potato soup and they are very good. The chicken noodle is okay. I have had the Chicken Caesar Salad. The chicken is a bit tough and I would not run to order it again. Service is always very polite, with a smile. I believe the son of the owners from the original location owns and/or manages this location. He is always there and is very accommodating. As a matter of fact, when I once complained that my favorite soup was not available, he said he would make it for me if I called in advance or would wait 20 minutes. I did that once with my favorite split pea, but it did not taste the same with just 20 minutes notice. I think good soup has to simmer a bit! Do not come here if you are in a hurry. It takes time to make these sandwiches. I advise calling and ordering in advance whether you are picking up or eating in. They can also take a long time for delivery. They also do not deliver on Sundays, a service my lazy family and I would appreciate during football season! Don't get me wrong, I still love LaSpada's but it is great to have choices in the neighborhood for subs. For now Mr M's, a well deserved 4 stars, but you can raise your rating to a perfect score for me if you work on the following: 1) Be a bit more generous with your sandwich filling. 2) Have faster service. I know quality takes time but the amount of time it takes to get an order can be ridiculous, even when I call I advance and there are no other customers. 3) Add Sunday delivery! 4) Stop running out of soup at 5pm. Make enough of your delicious soup to last into the evening!

Would like the sub maker to wear gloves. Watched him make six subs without gloves or wash his hands. Bread was fresh and cashier was exceptionally nice. Steak was dry and over cooked.

I must say that this place is very clean and the staff is very friendly. The food on a scale of 1 to 10 is about a 7 and a half.

The subs here are pretty good. The bread is nice and soft, they give a lot of meat and fillings. The staff is also courteous. I eat here once a week and normally get a turkey sub.

I've always heard great things since I was a kid about the Stirling location..finally decided to give this a chance since I've tried every other sub place in the area and grew tired of them.. I really like their bread, very soft and fresh..I had a Philly cheesesteak including a free cookie from their yelp deal and was pretty satisfied with the filling of meat and provolone melted on top. Service really cared for the customers as they greeted regulars coming in and even checked to see if I was enjoying my sandwich while eating..there are TVs inside if you care to watch a game on ESPN, that's a plus.

Better than any publix sub, can't even compare to subway... Family owned... Delicious sandwiches - fresh ingredients.... Lots of meat... Great bread! You can call ahead for fastest service if not you'll wait have to wait 10-15 if they're busy. They serve Otis Spunkmeyer cookies and dr. Browns soda! Best for take out versus eating in.

Yum yum yum! I've been going to the Stirling Road location for over 15 years and I was delighted to find up they opened a new location closer to home. I came here on a Saturday afternoon. I walked in and ordered my usual, chicken salad on white with tomatoes and mayo... wait was a little longer but it's okay because they were pretty busy. Employees and staff were extremely friendly and the place was very clean. Even the bathrooms were spotless. My sub was exactly the way I liked it and not to mention that it was super good! I came with about 3 other people and they all enjoyed their sub equally as I did mine. If you have never been to Mr. M's it's definitely worth checking out. I promise you will enjoy it as much as I do!

I am a happy girl! For years every time I was on my way back from Miami I would exit at Stirling Rd just to get a fix of my favorite sandwich shop.... Now it's just a few minutes from home. This is my second time and once again they did not disappoint. Fresh, chewy roll, thinly sliced meats piled high, crisp veggies... Ah perfection on a roll!! My bf accompanied me and ordered the Cuban . He asked if it was authentic and they claimed as close as you can get to Hialeah without leaving Davie. Crusty, crispy bread pressed super thin with hot melted cheese and yummy meats. He was impressed. I was raised on the original Mr. M's in Hollywood and can't wait to introduce my friends and fam to this gem!

Was introduced to this neighborhood sandwich shop by a good friend a few months ago and have been enjoying their delicious subs ever since! Usually I pick up my orders from their Stirling Rd. & I -95 location, but I was in Davie earlier this afternoon & decided I'd stop in and check out Mr. M's other location. Very glad I did! The staff at this location is even friendlier & I got the same great quality sandwiches I've been coming back for again & again ever since my 1st visit! So excited to have a 2nd location I can visit when my craving for a great sub sandwich hits that's equally superior in the quality & freshness of their menu items as well as their customer service! Looking forward to my next visit to Mr. M's Davie Sub Shop! I Highly Recommend Mr. M's for satisfying all your sub sandwich cravings-check them out!!

I was anxious for this location to open so I could give it a try. I finally saw the other week that the shop was open and gave it a try for lunch. I'm pleased to report that the wait was worth it! The place was extremely clean and the staff was all very friendly. The menu is fairly extensive which is not what you usually find in sub shops. Luckily a young girl behind the counter must have saw my overwhelmed look (I actually couldn't decide on what to try first because too many things sounded good) and offered to walk me through the menu. I decided for my first time to keep it classic: Turkey Club on wheat. Hands down the best I've had in a long time. I can't pinpoint why it was so good but I think my favorite part of the sub was the soft fresh bread. I'm a sucker for good bread (who isn't?) My sister who was with me got a small philly cheese and when we got our food she said "THAT'S a small? I can't eat all that!" The portion sizes were bigger than I had expected considering the prices. I would highly recommend this place for lunch or a casual dinner. Oh and definitely get at least one chocolate chip cookie for dessert. :-)

Best cheesesteak that I've had in South Florida. The meat is seasoned and not tough to chew. I've also had a cold sub here. I would recommend a visit. There is a nice outdoor seating area too.

Best subs in South Florida. The only thing I can say negative is they've ruined sandwiches for me from anywhere else ; I'm the brat that'll say "it's not M's? No thanks". They're that good

Every time I visit my family in South Florida, I always make it a point to stop at Mr. M's and get a turkey or tuna sub! They seriously have the best sub sandwiches I've ever eaten! Living in Los Angeles, I find myself craving Mr. M's! I can't wait to visit again very soon and enjoy a sub from one of my favorite sandwiches shops. New location looks GREAT!!!!!!!!

    (5)
  • Laura K.

This place is slightly below average. The deli sandwiches are pretty small to be called "deli sandwiches" and they charge extra for onion. It's pretty expensive for the quality you get. If you want a hoagie,go to LaSpada's down the road.

Wanted to try this for a while now but have to say I didn't miss out ! After I finally got walked tru the menue which is so confusing to begin with -I finally put a sandwich together with the help of a nice young lady that tried to give excellent customer service but was constantly interrupted what appeared to be the owners wife /mother ? that always talked over her . So annoying ! This was my first time and probably my last over there . I agree with what a lady said in her review . First impressions - not that great . And it took over 15 minutes for 1 sandwich- how long will it be when there is someone in front of you ? I cannot believe that they are in business since 1979 -how ??? On top of that nothing really to choose from to put on your sandwich !! What happend to black olives , sautéed onions ,ect Only onions green peppers lettuce tomatoe and 3cheeses to choose from ? The cheese on my sandwich was cut so thin I didn't even see it and the raw onions were way too much - all in all sticking with LA SPADAS for my future Sandwich cravings - double the sandwich in half the wait time and toppings galore.
