I was in Crestview on business and had some time to kill so I decided to go for lunch at Mia's Italian restaurant. As I entered the restaurant I noticed how remarkably clean and how comfortably it was decorated. I was greeted by both employees and seated myself. The service was prompt. I ordered a Caesar salad which was very good and I had a sampler platter which was remarkably tasty. One the sampler platter was fettuccine Alfredo, manicotti, meatballs, and lasagna. The portions for lunch were more than I probably needed. All four of the samples were as good as any I've had for their price in quite a while. Bathrooms are very clean, service is excellent, workers are very friendly and the food is pretty darn good. I'd recommend the restaurant to anybody wishing to have a good decent meal at a fair price. I will plan on eating there again when I'm in Crestview.

Or had way better service and food. We asked for broccoli and my daughter recieved it when my mother and I was done eating. She also asked for some Italian dressing to pour over her broccoli and she never got it. The booth seats can use updated. There was a couple sitting behind us and I felt the lady every move and it kept pushing me up and down. I ordered the spaghetti it was ok nothing to brag about, the meatballs were pretty good. Other than that the lunch prices were decent, but need better and attentive servers.

I just ate at this restaurant. Although 'I do not know if this is the same restaurant people here are describing; and I say this because my experience was very unpleasant. Started by ordering the Bruschetta as appetizers which were not bad at all. In fact, they were the only pleasant dish that we (Spouse & I) ate. Then we ordered the Spaghetti Carbonara and a side of bread sticks. The bread sticks were frozen and reheat since it tasted like "cardboard" (Sorry to the cardboard for the insult). The salad was very plain lettuce, tomatoes and with NOT even croutons in it. Then when the main course/entrée came in... OMG, It was very blend, no flavor at all; to the point that my wife had to return the plate and lost her appetite completely. Nonetheless, service was mediocre (not bad, not good either). I personally do not recommend it. Do not waste your time and money.

Really great customer service and food. The garlic bread is fantastic. The pizza crust is perfect! I've tried several items on the dinner specials that were amazing. Their use of proscuitto is almost divine. This was my fourth trip here and the only reason I haven't given it 5 stars is that I am not a fan of their Alfredo sauce (which is my favorite Italian food). It lacks the garlic parmesan flavor I have come to expect out of Alfredo. The other thing is their dinner side salads are a bit too basic for my taste. The rest of the menu has been wonderful! This is way better than Olive Garden and is a real find in small Crestview. Great food, great service total score!

My mind kept drifting to Gordon Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares as I experienced my one and only meal at Mia's. Service was just fine, and the waitress did a good job in dealing with our party of 10. It was the food that was an issue. My mother ordered some shrimp dish that had no sauce on it. The explanation from the kitchen was that the sauce evaporates during cooking. Sorry, but I'm not buying it. My manicotti was no better than the frozen kind I eat from Stouffers. In fact, if I had to guess, I am thinking most everything was frozen, including the sauce. My father had a meal that when he was done was left with a huge amount of water residue that only comes from something being frozen. I asked my son how he liked his meatballs, and he said that "Mommy's are better." Well, my wife gets her meatballs from the frozen section of Wal-Mart. Need I say more? I am also guessing that this kitchen is in need of a deep cleaning. Reminds me of so many restaurants that appear on Kitchen Nightmares. A complacent family-owned staff that is worn out from years of doing the same thing and doesn't take the time and effort to make their restaurant clean and sanitary. Again, the staff are warm and friendly, but no amount of good cheer can overcome frozen food that has been sitting around for quite some time before being heated up for your consumption.

The wait staff was helpful and courteous, food was promptly delivered to the table and the bread sticks were some of the best I can remember. We just had a pizza and it was better than your average take out. Next time we visit I'll have to dig a little deeper into the menu.

Pretty good for a small town with only one Italian restaurant (that I know of). The tiramisu dessert left something to be desired. It'll do in a pinch.

Mia's has the best bread sticks around, so order some and you'll agree. However, I'm perplexed as to why with the menu prices averaging those of higher end restaurants, you receive a dinner salad that consist of only a tomato and iceberg lettuce? Even so, the customer service that I received here was impeccable. The restaurant itself can use some updating as I felt that I was eating in an old diner.

I have been eating here for over 5 years and the place has improved A LOT since then. They have the best cheese sticks, just their pizza bread with thick cheese but it is SO GOOD and my kids devour it! My personal favorite is a large Roast Beef hot sub, it's so big I eat half and take the rest home for lunch the next day!! I remember web the large sub was $5.50, now it's over $8 but still worth it!! Their selection is a little limited and bruschetta just ok so I gave them 4 star for that.

No, no, no. I guess maybe this is the sort of place where they serve eye-talian? The place was pretty busy when we got in, which is usually a good sign, right? Definitely had to wait too long for our server. She finally came over to take our drink order, then proceeded to take our appetizer and entree order all at once because she could see we were ready. She was slow bringing our drinks back. Couple of beers and "mug root beer" in a cup (?). Whatever. The beer selection is skimpy. Best you are going to get is Peroni, for somewhere in the neighborhood of $3.75. They serve wine by the glass and it was going for $4 a glass. Beers varied, but our server was unsure of the prices...not very helpful at all. We ordered some Bruschetta to start. It was OK, but not great. Best part was it had some good garlic flavor going. Hubby and son ordered pasta dishes that came with salads. Instead of getting them ahead of the entree, they were delivered at the same time, with an apology to go with the dressing that came in a plastic cup. Classy. The salad itself was nothing but lettuce with a slice of tomato on top. All of our entrees were sub-par. The tomato sauces were watery, the son got Alfredo that you could tell had been sitting somewhere (it was dry on top), and my pizza was no better than anything you get from the freezer section of the grocery store. All of that for the bargain price of $64. Pretty sure you won't find me in this place again. Extremely overpriced for the quality.

Must say food was pretty good. Only flaw was spaghetti carbonara lacked a little flavor. Bread sticks were excellent!!! Price was also decent. Will definitely go back soon!

We hadn't gone to Mia's for several years. I decided to take the family last night for a change. I was very pleasantly surprised. We WILL return...more often. Oh, the Bread sticks are amazing! If you're looking for a high-end snooty restaurant like some of the other reviewers were looking for, look elsewhere. If you want a family friendly, locally owned place with good food, good prices, and good portions, this is the place. My suggestion, to people making reviews; provide constructive criticism to the staff while you are there, giving this locally owned, family business a chance to improve. I'm proud to say I go to Mia's.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
