We ventured out w/ few plans, on a cool crisp FL winter evening. After a great IPA at the new Playalinda Brew Company, we stopped in for dinner. It was cozy & warm with an enticing fragrance! The owner was charming & welcoming. He pointed out his Daily Special. We ordered them both! Pernil Asado (Roasted Pork grilled w/ onions in mojito sauce) & Arro Con Pollo y Maduros. Wow, the pork was fabulous, tangy with tasty sautéed onions - I'm a happy girl! We'll be back - perfect thematic music & a delightful experience!

I found this place while visiting relatives. All that I can say is that I can't wait to go back!!!! Originally from Miami, the comfort food that I grew up around was exactly what I found at this restaurant. The person cooking knows what they are doing! Cuban sandwiches, croquetas, pork, black beans, rice.... everything that we ordered was delicious! The atmosphere is casual & the restaurant is very small. I will be in town this weekend & you better believe that I'll be stopping in for a delicious meal! :)

We have only been here twice but we love it. Can you believe I'd never had fried plantains in my life before coming to this place?! (I'm 37....) I want to know WHY no one told me I was missing out?! We had the daily special today. I don't remember what it was called. It was kind of like beef stew. Freaking delicious. It came with Congri and sweet fried plantains. I don't know the Cuban name for those. All I know is if I had to choose one food to eat every day for the rest of my life, it would be that. We also had the smashed savory plantains that are kind of like hash brown patties. My fiancé told me what they're called several times. But I don't listen. Haha This place is small and cute. The owners are so nice. The food is excellent. Definitely 5 stars.

This place had so many good reviews and I'm not sure why. Don't get me wrong, the service was great and the owners are so kind. With that said, the food was less than ok. I've had way better cuban food incOrlando. I ordered the Tuesday special and upgraded the rice to yellow rice. The tostones were so incredibly over fried that it was difficult to cut into but size pieces with a fork and knife. The yellow rice was just shy of being perfectly cooked. It was a tad undercooked. The pork was ok but needed a hint of salt. I'll probably save Cuban cuisine for my stops in Orlando.

Awesome Cuban Sandwich. Wife got the Saturday special of Roast Pork, plantains, black beans & rice. The roast pork was incredible. So tender. Every piece of this meal was outstanding. Service was very good also. Yelp comes through again.

This place is closed. Would be nice of the owners to post an update somewhere outside of an 8x12 letter on the door.

Was passing by Cocoa Beach area and found this gem via Yelp. Great place to dine. Very small and cozy but food is absolutely delicious. Their bread will melt in your mouth and hence sandwich is delicious. Tried their mojo chicken, loved it!!! If you're driving by this area and love Cuban food, you should check this place out.

My husband and I love this restaurant. The restaurant itself is very small and quant. That being said, they have VERY delicious food, at decent quantities, and at good prices. This establishment reminds me of the restaurants I used to frequent in Manhattan. It's best to order the specials here. They serve a special every day of the week and it is usually delicious. Their yellow rice is also a good choice, be careful though, they often run out. Due to their size etc., takeout might be your best option when choosing this restaurant. If you decided on takeout, give them anywhere from 30 to 45 minutes. On a side note, they often stop taking takeout orders about 30 minutes before closing.

Love it! My sister was always raving about this place and then she let me try some of the. food and I loves it! Came here yesterday and ordered the special with beef and rice and beans mixed and the plantains and was so pleased! The beef was shredded and had a perfect melding of flavors and was very appealing to the palate. I loved that I could order my rice and beans ore mixed. It was perfect. And my plantains were sweet, soft inside with the right amount of crisp outside. My sis tee had the same dish except she didn't mix her rice and beans. We ordered some Cuban bread to share and they're these little mini pieces of bread and they are so light and buttery. We also shared a chicken Empanada and the chicken inside was bursting with Spanish flavor! The crust was crispy and my favorite part. The meal was so delicious and filling and I loved the price! Everything was $22! The waitress was so sweet and we has not a problem with her. The place was quiet, had some nice Spanish music playing, and had a nice vibe. Also, the bathroom was very clean. Another plus. Next role I go I want to the coffee and sweets. This is definitely a place I wild come to again and again and recommend anyone to try. A little hidden gem in Cocoa!

A very pleasant surprise in a rather run down looking town. I stopped in after a day of sightseeing at NASA and was blown away by this hole-in-the-wall-but-nicer place. The waitress was super friendly and the food came fast. I tried the Tuesday special which was some slow cooked pork chuncks with rice, beans, and plantains. My partner ordered a Cubano sandwich, fried yuca, and cafe con Leche. All was superb! Were now very full and very satisfied. If I lived near by, I would definitely be a regular!

Amazing authentic Cuban food. Shockingly simple but full of so much flavor. The plantains were excellent. The Friday chicken special was special, and it was the best Cuban sandwich I've ever had.

I found this place looking for a doctor office. Tiny place but very good service. The food was very good! I ate the Saturday special: pulled pork with onions; white rice with black beans and sweet plantains by the side! And a diet Pepsi to calm my guilty feeling! Good! Nice, clean place!

It's good and a nice place to visit every few weeks. The yuca frita is great here and, although the menu is limited, the entrees are always good and taste like grandmas.

The food here is phenomenal. I highly recommend it if you've been looking for good Cuban food in Brevard. Located off of US1 in a strip mall, this restaurant serves some of the best authentic cuban food in the area. I found the plaintains to be even better than the Colombia in Tampa! Given the incredibly low prices, I've found myself eating here with my wife regularly.

I was very disappointed. Today's meal, the bistec de pallium ills tasted like it was cooked a few days ago and warmed up to serve. The sweet plantains, which are usually the highlight of my meal were dried out and tasted like an old refrigerator. Even the rice tasted old with some of the grains crunchy from sitting around so long after being cooked. I have eaten here before and actually enjoyed the meal as it all tasted freshly cooked, but this time, no. I cannot say I will come back to chance it again as life is too short and money too scarce to waste on a restaurant that has an owner that cares that little about his customers to not try to make their experience eating in his restaurant a good one.

My go to for Cuban food. My son loves their Cuban, and he's a picky eater :) the prices are really great for the quality.

Hidden gem. The staff is very friendly. As a previous Miami resident the latin food is very comparable. Great cozy spot and reasonable prices.

Excellent choice. The Cuban sandwich was very good as was the special, pork with peppers. My son had the roast pork sandwich. Very large portions at a good price.

Delicious! Don't change! Great prices, a good amount of food, good specials, clean. Seemed to do a brisk takeout business.

Amazing food, very authentic. You can tell it's made from scratch. It's family run, which makes for a more personal experience. The owner came to our table and chatted with us for a good 10 minutes, telling us a little about the place and the things they do there, (such as Argentina night, as my husband is from there.) We will definitely be back very soon!

My boyfriend and I are from California and were hoping to find some amazing Cuban food. We ordered the ham croquetas and papa rellana, they were tasty. Then we ordered a mojito. The first mojito I've ever had and now that's a new favorite. In California we order the milanesa. Here they have the unbreaded steak with grilled onions, beans, rice, and plantains. The meal was perfect. If we lived closer we would definitely be regulars.

Excellent food - I couldn't believe four of us ate sandwiches, meals, desserts (2) and drinks for a little over $40. I had the pork, which was fabulous. Kids had sandwiches and my husband tried the avocado salad - the pico de gallo was excellent - a great punch of flavor and very fresh. The neighborhood is a little sketchy, but it's definitely worth a stop - staff is friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant is neat and clean.

After a long day at the Kennedy Space Center we stopped here to get dinner. This place is a hidden treasure! Food was great, service was very friendly and obliging. Too bad we are only here for vacation. Otherwise we'd be coming back for sure!

I had lunch here at 2pm on a Saturday. There were two other tables besides mine. The decor is simple, attractive and very clean, including the bathroom (a big plus for me). There was one server at the bar and one cook in the kitchen, as far as I could tell. Service was quick and friendly. The food is served on hard plastic plates. I ordered the plate of the day (Pernil Asado $8.65) and two apps (Croquetas de Jamon $1.80 and Papa Rellena $2.55). Also a glass of sangria ($4.16). The sangria was excellent. The apps were fantastic and perfectly cooked- crisp on the outside, creamy, meaty and flavorful on the inside. The pernil was great although it could have been a tad more tender for me. However the mojito marinade for the pernil was superb. The sweet plantains that came with the entree were perfectly done and delectable. This restaurant doesn't have the best location but it is definitely worth seeking out. Easy to access off 528 but also easy to pass by if you aren't looking for it. Prices are very reasonable and the server I had spoke great English. I was impressed with the flavor and technique of the food and can't wait to go back and try the Arroz con Pollo.

The food at La Tinaja is soooo soooo good! This tiny restaurant is located in a small mall plaza on US 1, very close to 528. As I said, the place is tiny so there are only 5-6 small tables and if you come in during the lunch rush, you'll probably have to wait a little but it will be worth it. So, the way that their menu works is that they have one Special of the Day (which is fixed for each day of the week) and two "Everyday" specials. For example, if you go on a Saturday you'll have the option of the special of the day which is roasted pork (pernil asado) or their everyday specials which include top sirloin steak (bistec) or flat-iron chicken. All plates come with white rice, black beans and your choice of plantains. Now, they have a few more things that are always available like the cuban sandwich, pan con lechon, pan con bistec, empanadas, yuca, and desserts. You HAVE to come on a Saturday. Their pernil is the best I have ever had. They marinate that pork in heaven because it is outstanding; juicy, perfectly seasoned, sauteed onions, yum! I have also tried their chicken fricase, the ropa vieja, and the grilled chicken and everything is delicious. You won't regret it. The second best part (first one is the pernil) are the prices. Most, if not all, of their plates are under $9 and it is a lot of food (meat, rice, beans and plantains); you might have leftovers if you can control yourself. If you get a sandwich and a drink you'll easily be under $8. It's too bad this place is far away from home but if you want to drive somewhere to get some excellent cuban food, this place will be worth it.

Daily specials! The Pernil Asado (roast pork) was excellent. The Cuban beer, La Tropical, was so different and soooo good. Then finished up with a double Cafe Cubano, excellent. I will be back!

Never actually got to eat here. Waited and waited for a table an no one helped. Appeared that there was one waiter working and no one else... not like they were even busy... wonder if the food is any good?!?!?

I was coming out of MCO Orlando Airport and wanted to go east so found this Cuban restaurant on Yelp. Great find and wholely accurate as far as the other reviews. I had the Cuban sandwich and daily especial (beef something). I ate the sandwich and saved the special for lunch the next day. OK, it is not a high brow place but if you want authentic Cuban, don't miss it :)

Might be a surprise at first, it's located in a small strip mall in the middle of, well, not much. Really good Cuban food. They have nightly specials and the roast pork on Saturday is AWESOME. Seriously, its perfect. I think its the best Cuban around. Awesome bread too. The pork sandwich with sauteed onions is very good as well, its on buttery bread with perfect crust. Oh yeah, order a side of mojito sauce, its garlicy goodness you won't regret! Dip bread in it, or pour it over whatever your eating, its good with everything.
